It is. The JR Sport Brief Show. on the Infinit Sports Network. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you so much for being here.
I'll be hanging out with you for one more hour. This show gets started every weekday. At 6 p.m. Eastern. Three Pacific.
Thank you so much to our producer in New York City, Ryan Botcher, and thank you to you. listening. At home, at work, on the road. the back roads, the high roads, maybe you're in your garage. doing construction, you're cleaning, you're you're cooking.
I don't know what the hell you're doing. Thank you for bein' here. Man, we've had a day. There is so much going on here on this Monday, October 6th. The Dodgers.
They are trying to hold on. and beat the Phillies. To take a 2-0 series lead in the NLDS. Right now, the Dodgers lead 4-1. It is the bottom of the night.
They're trying to close things out. of Philly. I'm trying to put some more runs up on the board to extend this game.
Meanwhile, in Jacksonville, Florida, Well, we got some NFL action. Week five of the NFL season coming to a close. The Chiefs lead the Jaguars 7-0. You got Travis Kelsey on the receiving end. Two-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes.
To give the Chiefs a 7-0 lead. If the Chiefs win tonight, They're in a three way tie. in the AFC. West.
Meanwhile, we got another game that's going to start. Major League Baseball, we're minutes away. From the Cubs and the Brewers, Milwaukee currently leads their series. Once or nothing. They're trying to go up.
Two to nothing. Jackson Churio will be back. And speaking of back, the Phillies are threatening here. In the bottom of the ninth, two on. No outs.
And Philadelphia trying to tie this game up. Ultimately, try to tie this series at one game apiece. We've had some guests come through. Thank you so much to Tom Carroll from WEEI. Coming through to have a chat with us about the New England Patriots.
Thank you so much to Mark Ross, NFL network analyst. helping to come through and and talk with us about everything that has taken place.
so far this NFL season. If you want to be a part of the show like them, You can call up. 888. 710. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's 888-688. I think it's a very good thing. For ISN. You can also find me online. I am at JR Sport Brief.
amongst everything that we've discussed to day, We got this. Uh Teaser from LeBron James. I was going to call it vague. I guess I still can call it vague. He is making some type of announcement tomorrow.
that he's calling the second decision. And this is going to be released at about noon Eastern time tomorrow. LeBron James dropping some type of news? Is he going to tell everybody that This is going to be his final season. Is there some type of marketing ploy coming up?
Uh we'll find out. real real soon. Philadelphia Phillies are not going quietly. Four to three. Castellanos hits a double, two run double.
Dodgers now lead 4-3. Hey, Bacha, this one is getting good, man. And it's surprising that they didn't go with Roki Sasaki. As their closer to the Dodgers, I guess. They wanted to see maybe if Blake Trinan can get back on track, but for for a guy that Dave Roberts really Praised the last couple days in Brookie Sasaki to not put him out there in a 4-1 game to close it out.
I don't know what he's doing. Yeah, I think he he took the approach of, hey, we got a 4-1 lead here. Do we need to go ahead and put him out there? He had Roki Sasaki standing around warming up every shot that we got here on the broadcast. It was Roki Sasaki standing around, kind of warming up, waiting to get a call.
And the last shot that we had of him, he's standing out. In the bullpen with his jacket on, kind of just going, well, am I going to pitch? Am I not going to pitch? And so we'll we'll see what happens. As it stands right now, They're trying to see if uh Castellanos was was was safe or out.
At second. Looks like he's a. He's all good there, said The Dodgers trying to hold on to win this game. Four to three. Uh, the Phillies are trying to maybe even possibly come back and win this one.
uh in the ninth eight eight eight seven ten four is nine That's 888. 710-4ISN. We got Mike. He's calling up from Canton on Ohio. Hey, Mike, you're on the JR Sport Brief Show.
What's going on? Remember me? Uh no, I talked to a lot of folks, Mike. Go ahead. I was the one who called up and said that uh Kelsey and Taylor should Get married.
And look what has happened. since then. Voila. All right. Yeah, that's not something that I would, you know, would stand out in my brain, but is there anything else?
I think they were listening to your show. when I was calling in. Oh, okay. Possibly. I would think both of them would be a little busy, but sure, why not?
about Taylor Swift. We have She's a normal person. Her hobbies are sewing, knitting and bird watching. What I'd like to say in relation to sports is: now, how come so many seasons in major pro sports Don't have more than four or five teams with a realistic chance of. Winning.
Look at the teams like New York Knicks. They haven't smelled a championship in all these years. New York used to be the Mecca of basketball. Look at the Miami Dolphins. They used to be real good.
The Pirates used to be real good in baseball. Angels have stunk it up for so many decades. Why so many Blackluster week team.
Well, it boils and thank you so much Mike for calling from Canton I I think that really just boils down to to ownership. I mean, we've talked about this a lot over the past several weeks. When you take a look at teams, That kind of just sit around floating in the toilet for years and decades. It typically starts at at the top. And if you're not moving away the billionaire owner who has the team, who might be meddling, who might be a whole pain in the ass, who can't get out of the way.
How are you going to get better? You you never will. I mean, there's typically only one constant when it comes to bad teams. And that's bad ownership. You can fire as many general managers as you want.
The general managers can get rid of the coaches. The the owner can get rid of the GM. Is an owner firing himself? The the answer is no. I mean, earlier on in the show, we discussed Woody Johnson and the New York Jets.
Like. They're horrific. They just brought in a brand new coach. They just brought in a brand new GM. They're still out there on the football field getting smoked.
And it's so bad that are they even going to get a chance? Is Aaron Glenn? going to get an opportunity passed this year? I I don't think so. If they keep thinking to join up, if they end up with one win.
Aaron Glenn is here today. And he's gone tomorrow. It's really that simple. I mean, we talked about Mike McDaniel. I mean, they blew a lead.
against the Carolina Panthers last night. Yesterday, and now you got Stephen Ross having conversations with Mike McDaniel. And you listen to Mike McDaniel speaking. Does this I want you to listen to this? Mike McDaniel gave us a No insight a little bit into this conversation with Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross.
Does Mike McDaniels sound like a guy? Who just plans on keeping his job? Listen to this. He was really frustrated at the you know, just like his And You know, we talked about the uh the challenge ahead um to get ready for uh uh the chargers. Um and uh that that was kind of the extent of it.
Yeah, that's kind of that that sounds like a guy who's who's getting ready to get fired. That sounds like a guy who's just getting ready to get The boot And I guess this is what happens on Monday. You get a lot of miserable coaches who just. They don't know what the hell is going on. You know, let's listen to more miserable coaches.
Not necessarily fun. Hey, Aaron Glenn, I told you about the New York Jets. Annihilated by the Dallas Cowboys. At one point in time, they were losing like 30 to 3. After the game, Aaron Glenn is just like Yeah, we gonna suck for a while.
You know, Rome wasn't built in a day. It's going to take time, fellas. You know, we're having a we're struggling this year. I talked to two guys. This week.
Again, I told you guys: Tony Dungy, Jimmy Johnson, they all had these issues early on. And listen, I'm not throwing any one of these guys out. Yeah. Hey, Bach, you wanna hear more our loser coaches? I love hearing loser coaches.
They're great.
Okay, let's see. Who's the next? Hey, let's go to another sport. I know we got the Dodgers. Are right now trying to close out the Phills, but let's listen to the Yankees.
If the Yankees don't win tomorrow, Their season is is done. Aaron Boone, man. Like, Max Freed went out there, got his ass whooped, Aaron.
Well, what's going on, man? You know, didn't seem to have the same command, probably not getting pitches to where he wanted to get them. You know, life and everything seemed fine. But just, you know. They obviously had some hard contact.
They were able to find some holes with their contact. but just not not as sharpest, obviously. Oh boy. Oh wow. We don't know how this one is gonna end.
He might be a loser in a few minutes or he might be a winner. I told you the Dodgers currently lead the Phillies four runs to three. It's the bottom of the ninth. The Dodgers need to get two more outs to close out this game to go up 2-0. in the series.
Rob Thompson. knowing that they're playing at home, They haven't been able to beat these Dodgers. Hey Rob, is are the Phillies, are they pressing at home? What's going on, man? I don't sense any extra pressure.
I feel like they're loose. I feel like, you know, I mean, we made a lot of good plays on defense last night. We pitched well, we just didn't get the big hit when we needed it. We had some chances. It's the way it is.
I think it's just kind of the ebbs and flows of the game. And we ought to come out here tomorrow night and play well. Yet to morrow night is now. And we'll see if the Phillies can uh kind of bounce back. Continuing our theme.
listening to loser head coaches right before we went to break We did talk about Penn State. Pathetic laws to UCLA. UCLA is kind of slapped together. At this point in time, from a coaching perspective, you got Nico Yamaliava who made this massive mistake going there. They fired a Deshaun Foster.
It's bad. And Penn State found a way to go out there and lose. And James Franklin, well. All he could do at the end of the game after they got their asses whooped Is just say, hey, UCLA one, you got to show them some love. Give UCLA credit.
give their quarterback a ton of credit. And um Yep. We made mistakes today that we normally don't make. Had a ton of missed assignments. Turnovers at critical times, penalties at critical times.
things that we really don't do and have not done. for a very long time so Uh give UCLA credit. Yeah, he won't be around for a very long time. They're going to get James Franklin a hell of one out of there. I don't care how long and how much success he's had.
We know he can never get over the big one, the big teams, the Ohio states of the world. The Michigans are the world, but now you can't go ahead and beat UCLA? Man, we know I ain't got no business even being in the ballpark with you. And you guys are going out there and sticking to join up. Speaking of sticking to join up, Billy Napier.
Man, if he kept thinking of joining up for the Gators, he was going to be out of there. But they just beat Texas.
Okay, we got the Longhorns out here who just lost to the Gators 29 to 21. Arch Manning was running for his life. I know there's a lot of conversations about what he looks like and Had somebody call us up a couple of weeks ago. Oh, he wouldn't even be here for his last name. Was it Manning?
Well I don't care what your last name is. You ain't winning nothing. If you can't stand and throw the football and you're running for your life, Arch Manning. was sacked. Six.
Damn. Times.
Okay, six times. And even Sark is like, yeah, we sucked at the line of scrimmage. We couldn't protect Archie's running around. Let's listen to another miserable coach. A disappointing um loss in the in the fact that man, we just didn't play great.
Um He really didn't play very good. And especially early on in the ball game. We struggled to get stops defensively. We really were not very good at the line of scrimmage on either side of the ball early. We got a little better on defense, but we just weren't great at the line of scrimmage on offense.
Yeah, wow. Yeah. It's another they ain't winning nothing. They're they're not. It sucks.
It sucks. I was really looking forward to seeing what Arch can do and Heisman winner and is he going to compete? He all the all the air is out of the balloon. When it comes down to Texas and then Penn State, just uh who believed in Drew Aller in the first place? He was supposed to not turn the football over at the most uh opportune times, and he's just He's turning the football over there just bad.
all over the damn place. Here we are. It's already uh the beginning of October. And things are stinking up. Speaking of stinking up.
Rookie Sasaki has finally exited the bullpen. The Dodgers or one out away from winning this game, The Phillies got two guys on, got guys on first, a guy on third. They need one run to try to tie this game up. They're bringing in Roki Sasaki to try to close things out. It might be a little too late.
But we'll see if the Dodgers can can hold on. To win this game. Bacha, this is a good one. We get paid to sit down and watch and talk about this stuff. It's not too bad.
It's good now, looking at it where the Dodgers might be blowing a three-run lead in the ninth inning. But the overall game, if you like Pitchers' duels. Good baseball, man. Good baseball. Yes, good bait.
You just want a competitive game. Here we are at the end of the ninth. The fans are on their feet. They're waiting to see what happens. Roki Sasaki is rolling out.
And he's going to do one of two things. He's going to line out, pop up. You're going to strike the guy out. He's going to walk the bases loaded. He's going to give up a hit.
This might be one of those things where the first pitch coming his way is hit and they score a run. I don't know. And this is a good thing about playoff baseball: there's nothing else like it. You can go through 162 games. But by the time you get to the postseason, every pitch and every play It matters a big time.
If we go down to Jacksonville, Florida. Right now, the Kansas City Chiefs They lead the Jaguars. A 14 to nothing. There's about six and a half minutes to go here in the first half. Patrick Mahomes through for one touchdown.
He ran in another one, And so the Chiefs lead 14-0. Jacksonville. trying to get up on the board. Travis Hunter with a nice reception and a juke. Picking up a first down.
And so at least he got some action. We'll see what he does. The rest of the way. The JR Sport Brief Show here with you, coast to coast, on the Infinity Sports Network. Roki Sasaki on the mound trying to close things out for the Dodgers.
trying to help them gain a 2-0 series. A lead. We're underway as well. The Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicago Cubs just underway. We're going to take a break when we come back.

uh to the the second baseman automatically goes to first If Freddy Freeman has to do a little bit of a stretch. And that was uh all she wrote. There.
Meanwhile, in Milwaukee right now, the Chicago Cubs getting off to a quick start. Suzuki with a home run right out of the gate here. In the first inning, a three-run bomb. And so the Cubs now lead the Brewers a 3-0. They're now going into the bottom half of the first.

of the Chiefs will be in a three-way tie. For the division lead in the AFC West. With the Denver Broncos as well as the Chargers.
So there's a lot going on in the world, the sports. Things have been busy, busy, busy, busy. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. And things are busy in the NHL as well.
I mean, the NHL season is right here at the beginning. And we got a little bit of news that came down the pipe as well. I told you things were busy. Economer David. He got himself a new deal.
And take a listen to this courtesy of CBS Sports HQ. We continue to follow breaking news at HQ. Honor McDavid re-signing with the Edmonton Oilers. McDavid has led the NHL in points in five of his first ten seasons of the league. has the second most in franchise history behind only Wayne Gretzky.
He's also led Edmonton to back-to-back Stanley Cup final appearances for the first time since 1988. Third most hundred-point seasons in league history, behind only Mario Lemieux. And a great one.
Alright, great, terrific.
Now just go out there and win the Stanley Cup. I mean, Dry Saddle is still there. He's coming off of this massive deal. Conor McDavid is. and there was a concern about whether or not he was going to stick around or not.
Why, I have no idea. Uh But he was going to be a free agent at the end of this season. There's nothing left for this guy to do. But to just win a championship. We'll see if it takes place.
I mean, things were. when people were so concerned, about whether or not he was going to go. Even the Canadian Prime Minister Last month, he said that it was a crisis that this guy hasn't got a contract.
Now he does. We are in a crisis. We are in a crisis. The global trading system has been upended. Supply chains have been destroyed.
McDavid. is unsigned. This is not a transition. This is a rupture. As in times like these, you have to draw back in.
Remember what you have. Yeah, well, I mean Oh. Here we go. I mean bachelor I mean everything going on in the world today You gotta have a little bit of humor, you right? You sprinkle it in every now and then.
Oh yeah. But like. And when you think about it, it's only part of Canada that likes McDavid, you know, the Canadians fans and the Jets fans, they're not biggest fans of him. Yeah, but I mean for the Prime Minister wh I'm talking about the politician, not the whole country. Oh, yeah, the politician's just having some humor, trying to keep everybody.
Calm, to say the least. Yeah, I mean, I think we can all use a little bit more calm in the world, so let's go ahead and. Sign up for that one. Yeah, there's nothing for Connor McDavid to do but to win a championship. I don't know if the Florida Panthers just going to Championship after championship, and now you got injuries.
I don't know if they're going to be able to. It's a three-peat. I'm not expecting that. Maybe they could kind of bounce back, but. Eventually.
Nikona McDavid, his career would be complete if he actually won a Stanley Cup. And it'll be a. I I guess it'll be sweeter, knowing that you've been twice, you lost. and whenever you do get the job done and go, Uh y you you appreciate it. A little more.
Speaking of appreciation, I did tell you, LeBron James. He pretty much teased tomorrow and a major announcement. He's going to have the second decision. He put up a quick video earlier today on all his social media platforms. Yeah, let everybody know this was going to be his second decision.
Well, we know he's at the end, closer to the end than he is to the beginning. Entering into his 23rd year in the NBA, this with the Los Angeles Lakers. The last time he had a decision was 2010. The last time he had the decision people hated his guts. Are people going to hate his guts tomorrow?
We're going to find out. Remember what the first decision sounded like? The answer to the question everybody wants to know. LeBron? What's your decision?
Um, and this fall, Madison. This is very tough. And this fall I'm going to take my town, it's the South Beach. and um join the Miami League. Why?
Um like I said before I feel like it's It's going to give me the best opportunity to win and to win for multiple years. And not only just the win in a regular season or just the win. five games in a row or three games in a row. Um I want to be able to win championships and I feel like I can compete down in Yeah, when he got there, he was screaming: not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six. And he was there for four years.
He left after two. And what a first year that was, losing to the Dallas Mavericks. People were like, oh my God, what a disaster. And I think that was one of the first times where people actually looked at LeBron and was like, oh, we can beat the living hell out of this guy. We can criticize them.
I remember th them losing that series, Chris Bosch. just walking to the tunnel after the the the finals ended. They basically had to pick him up and carry him to the back. He was crying. hysterically after that.
We know they they came back and and won. Uh but that that was uh That might have been one of the low points for LeBron James' career. It's like, hey, man, you left. You ditch Cleveland. You did it on on national T V.
Owner hated your guts, basically told you to kick rocks. And then you were able to turn things around going back to Cleveland to ultimately win a championship.
So when you take a look at LeBron's career. If this is the final year, if this is the final season, Man, I He's gonna hopefully go out with a bang. You know, I'm not all that sold on this Los Angeles Lakers roster. Can they do some damage? Maybe, but you got a team that just won the championship in the Thunder.
They have so much depth. They have so much youth. And I mean, let's be real, the Lakers, do do they have that? I mean, DeAndre Aiden playing with LeBron and then Luca. I mean, he can't be a bum.
He is somebody who did go to an NBA Finals. You got Austin Reeves, doesn't play defense. Ruyah Chamora is good, but Is he a guy that can help spell you in long enough stretches? I think not. Marcus Smart coming off the bench.
Marcus Smart has dealt with injuries over the past few years. Dalton can neck, doesn't play defense, but he can go out there and shoot. I I just I don't think the Lakers have enough depth. If they were able to just live and die by the starters, then yeah, of course, but. LeBron James, 23 seasons.
You can't count on him. all the time. They'll probably go to the postseason. and be eliminated. I also don't know.
Where and who the hell? Could you trade to bring anything into the Los Angeles Lakers come February? I mean, maybe there is a reality here. That if the Lakers are just kind of coasting by, You know, maybe LeBron James says, Hey, I want to go to Cleveland or I want to go here, so. Los Angeles Lakers, we all gotta wait to see what this news is.
From LeBron James tomorrow. We'll find out soon enough as he gets ready to make another decision. Of this one possibly? Final decision of his his career. 888-710-4ISN.
That's 888-710-4ISN. There is so much going on in the world of sports. Man, we have two games tonight: the National League Division Series round of the Major League Baseball postseason. We got Monday night football going on in Jacksonville. There's a lot taking place in the world of sports.

Suzuki came through, hit a three-run bomb in the top.
Well, it didn't take them long. We just The Brewers answered right back with a three run shot. of their own. It is now 3-3 in the top of the second. Vaughn hit a three-run home run for the Brewers off of Amonaga.
And so now we're at three runs apiece, what looked like a great start. for the Chicago Cubs has now been Ruled just kind of blank.

Things got a little dicey there for the Dodgers in the final frame in the bottom of the ninth. They went in with a 4-2-1 lead. But they ended up holding on to win the game, the final, 4-2. Three. And so the Dodgers are now one win away.
From advancing to another, Forget the World series, another. N L A C S, where of course, if they were to win, they take on the winner. uh between the Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers. They will have a chance, the Dodgers, to finish up this series at home. Tomorrow is a travel day.
Game three is going to take place in Los Angeles. That's not the only game that. That we have to wait and see. Tomorrow, we got the Mariners and the Tigers. They have an early start: 4 Eastern, 1 Pacific.
Uh the Mariners and Tigers, they are all tied up one game apiece in their series. And then tomorrow night when we are On the air, maybe we get a result The Yankees are going to be playing at home against the Blue Jays. The Yankees are going to try to avoid elimination. They are currently losing their series to Toronto. A two to nothing.
I know a lot of people in Toronto are thrilled about this. Because why not revel? in Yankee pain. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN.
You heard it from Peter Schwartz as well. Kansas City leads Jacksonville 14-7 here. At halftime. It's about five minutes to go before they get started in the third. That's something for us to look forward to, but it's the end of the show.
We don't look forward. We look back. It's time for a few things that took place this day in sports history. Back, back, back, back! Back in the days when I was young, I'm not a kid anymore.
But some days I sit and wish I was a kid again. It's time for this day in sports history. Back in those days... We had radio and you couldn't see anything and it was primitive and lousy and we liked it. The JR Sport Brief Show.
I wish I was 50 years younger and I'd kick your ass. It is October 6th. The year is 2025. This day in sports history, let's go back to 1963. Because we have the World Series.
We had the Dodgers taking on the Yankees.
Well, the Dodgers, they edged the Yankees 2-1. at Dodgers Stadium and the Dodgers, they swept the New York Yankees. Four games to nothing. Sandy Colfax walks away with the MVP award. Let's go back to 1963 as the Dodgers beat the Yankees.
This is courtesy of MLB. Take a listen to Ernie Harwell with a call. It's a tap back past the mouth of Ari Wills. He grabs it, throws it first, and fall over the dodge. The Dodgers win.
In the ninth inning, no run for the Yankees on one hit, one era, and two runners are left on base. And the final score, the Dodgers two, and the Yankees one. Yeah, damn it. Don't remind people about what happened last year. Dodgers beat the Yankees again, but that was last year.
What you just heard was from 1963. Let's go back in time. Let's stick to that. October 6th. Joe Montana.
429 yards. Five touchdowns. Set an NFL record with 57 passes attempted. Did not throw an interception. Is the 49ers?
They went out there and beat the Falcons 38. to 17. I know Joe, he was cool because he was icing that arm. After this one. And Joe Montana listened to him talk about.
The time he didn't want to lose his job to Steve Young. He wanted me to be the backup, and I said, I'm better than he is, and I don't want to be behind him. I shouldn't be behind him. I even said, Put two salaries on the table and let us compete. And if I lose, I'll stay.
And he said, No, so I'm not staying under those circumstances. I want to play. I want to be on the field. I want to finish my career on the field. I want to be here on the bench.
If I knew I couldn't play, different story, but I knew I could play still. You and Steve have any heat for that? Any beef for that long term? No, I mean, anytime you're in a competition with somebody, it's not always the closest of friendships. I mean, we're friends, it was a working relationship.
They said, How did you help Steve? I go, I didn't help Steve. My job was to make sure that Steve stayed right where he was behind me. That's my job. Yeah, that was Pat McAfee.
You heard that in the back. If shout out to one of the best of all time, greatest of all time. October 6th. 1993, speaking of the greatest of all time. Michael Jordan on the heels of another championship.
three in a row, on the heels of his father passing away. Michael Jordan made the announcement. That he was retiring after only nine seasons in the NBA. Y'all, that took place, yeah, right before the season in 1993. Let's take a listen.
Michael Jordan calling the quits in 93. I never wanted to leave the game when my skills started to diminish. Because once that starts to happen, I feel the foot in my back. When I get to a pinnacle and I I feel that my skills are still good, I'm not starting on the downside of my career. I want to walk away from the game.
And it's been very fortunate that I'm on top. Five years down the line. If that urge comes back, If the Bulls have me, if David Cerner lets me back in the league. I may come back. But uh You know, that's an option that I would never close on.
You know, I like to have that option, but... Wow. We know what happened. He came back. He came back.
Damn it, the guy came back. And then he won three more championships.
Okay, Michael Jordan was his life. And then he retired again. He came back for the Wizards, but we try to act like that did not exist.
Okay, 1993, this day, October 6th, Michael Jordan says. I'm gone. October 6th, 2010, Roy Holiday. God rest his soul. This man pitches the second no-hitter in postseason history.
The Phillies, they went over the Reds 4-0 in game one of the NL Division. Series. Roy Holiday was one of the best pitchers to sit down and watch. Let's take a listen as he talks about his no-hitter. Yeah.
Yeah, I felt like we got in a groove early. You know, Carlos has been great all year, but You know, he helps me getting a rhythm, you know, throwing a lot of pitches for strikes, getting ahead, and then later in the game, mixed pitches well, mixed speeds well.
So, you know, he's done a great job for me, just trying to be aggressive. Yeah, that was his first ever career postseason appearance. He struck out eight guys. He got the job done at Citizens Bank. Ballpark.
I know a lot of people wish that they got the job done tonight, but they did it. God rest his soul, Roy Holiday. October 6th. 2013, all this is what you call a barn burner, okay? Matt Prater.
He had to go out there and kick a 28-yard field goal as time expired. Peyton Manning. Tony Romo, they were just out there flinging a ball around, okay? The Denver Broncos. They overcame the first 500-yard passing game in Dallas history.
and they beat the Cowboys fifty one. to 48. Romo threw for 506 yards. Had five touchdowns for Dallas. He was intercepted at the end of the game to help set up Matt Prater's game-winning kick.
It was the second highest scoring game in regulation. Since the NFL-AFL merger in 1960. Yeah. Peyton Manning, his arms still worked at this time. 413 yards.
and four touchdowns. for Denver. Let's take a listen to Matt Prater. kick in the game winning field goal. All that offense for a kick?
Sure, why not? 28 yards. To stay unbeaten to run the win streak in the regular season to 16. 51. 48 Broncos in the fourth highest scoring game in the history of the NFL.
Damn. What is Jim Jim? I get it. Jim Nance does does NFL and Jim. What Jim Nance, I feel he's been well he has been around forever.
Bacha, he says he wants to call the masters for what, the next 50 years? Is that what he said?
Something like that? And I respect him for that. Golf is probably a lot easier than football, isn't it? It's probably less grueling. Uh I don't know.
Is it? I don't know. He says he loves it, he wants to do it. He's doing college basketball. At one point, college basketball, NFL football, the Masters.
Like, damn, Jim, just. Let somebody else get some money, okay? Let somebody oh Denny's.
Well that's not the past. Hey botch, I'm getting sucked in by these uh... These television food commercials like five dollars at Denny's. And I'm over here sitting in the studio starving. But anyway.
There you have it. Today is October 6th. It's been that way all day. And these are a few things, or those were a few things, that took place this day in sports history. Oh man, this is going to be bananas.
When we come back tomorrow, 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific, we're going to have a lot to get into. A lot.
Okay, we're gonna have Now the Mariners Their game, well, they should be completed by the time we get on air here. The Yankees, they got their backs up against the wall. We're going to know the result of this. Monday night football game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville. Things are nuts.
And then you got this whole situation with LeBron James. He says he's getting ready to make his second decision. Is he leaving? Is he staying? And so we know we are going to have a packed show Tomorrow.
And so if you thought today was busy, wait until we get tomorrow. I I like I said, I I can't see a situation where LeBron James is you know, pulling some type of publicity stunt. He says he's making a second decision. He was derided and beat up about the first one. I I think he's gonna Tell everybody, hey, I'm going to call it quits.
at the end of the season. He says he doesn't want to go out diminished. Maybe he feels it coming. Um Let's see what happens. I don't think the Lakers are going to win anything.
But I I think LeBron James is going to go ahead and say, I'm gone. We know that he wants the pomp, the circumstance, the Want to sell the t-shirts, they want to get the merchandise out. We'll see what he says. Otherwise, well War be duped? And that's not going to look good for LeBron.
So I really think. given all of his uh criticism over the years. I think he's going to probably tell everybody I'm leaving at the end of the year. What a run. I don't want to put the guy's career into a you know perspective already, but Let's see what the news is tomorrow.
We'll know LeBron making his second decision known. At noon Eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific.
