Eastern, Three Pacific. Man, of course we talked about Michael Parsons being traded to the Green Bay Packers, no longer a member of the Dallas Cowboys. We talked about college football. Damn it, right now, this minute, this second. What a score.
Wow, I didn't expect this. We got South Florida beating up Boise State. Thirty-four to seven. Is it too late to bring back Ashton Genty? Can he play in college in the NFL?
I know the answer is no, but damn, this is ugly. Talk some college. Hey, a big shout outs as well. To Trey Wallace for joining us. Covers all things college football for Outkick and Fox.
Just last hour, we had a conversation with NBA player. and Houston Rocket Josh Okogee. If you've missed a minute or second of the show, Go ahead and hit rewind. on the free Odyssey app. Getting ready for all the college football games.
We got some good ones. LSU and Clemson on. Saturday We got to wait for Bill Belichick on Monday. We got Dion without his sons tomorrow. Damn it, I still can't believe.
Yes, I can. Travis Hunter had a baby. He's just like, hey, I got a baby. Good for you. A lot of people have babies.
Good for you. Anyway. At the end of the show. We'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history. I'm going to have the phone lines open this entire show, this entire hour.
What's left of the show? I'm going to be on vacation for the next few days. I will be back with you. On Tuesday, Plan on spending all my time Watching college football. That's it.
And I'm gonna try to have less beers than normal, less Not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven, not eight, not nine, ten. None. Just goin' sit down and watch football. Who am I? Maybe have a beer here and there.
A game a beer, a beer a game. eight eight eight seven ten four ISN. That's 888. Seven ten. For ISN.
I'm taking your thoughts. Is there a dumber organization than the Dallas Cowboys? or all the dumb organizations in Dallas, Texas. The Dallas Mavericks, the Dallas Cowboys. One team trades Luka Doncic.
The other team trades Micah Parsons. Jerry Jones is a nutty. He's a nutty man. I want you to listen to Jerry Jones just a few weeks ago. And then I'm going to play Jerry Jones for you.
from just what, like an hour ago. A few weeks ago, Jerry Jones was having a A media scrum We know he loves that. I think Jerry Jones surrounded my microphones and cameras that probably turns him on. Good for him. This stage of life, that's good.
Jerry Jones was asked about trading Micah Parsons. Michael Parsons had requested a trade out of Dallas. Jerry Jones is just like, I'm not trading him. I'm not trading him. This is all about negotiating.
This is negotiating. I'm not trading him. Listen to this from a few weeks ago. Jerry, are you considering trading Micah Parsons?
Well, let's put it like this. Surely you guys have been around this stuff and know to Recognize uh negotiation talk, that type of thing.
So that's where I put that.
So are you considering it? I'm not. At this point. The facts are that uh That's like anything else. I think the world of Micah And that's just part of negotiation.
Would you ever consider trading money? Again, I don't uh really place that. Uh with any uh Real seriousness. You know, Mike has got a bad back. That's like being traded.
That was like three weeks ago. That was like three weeks ago. This is what Jerry Jones said an hour ago. He's saying it was in their best interest to trade him. Hmm.
We did think it was in the best interest. Of our organization, not only the future, but right now, this season as well. Um We've gained a Pro Bowl player. Um We've gained a Pro Bowl player in an area that we had big concern in. our concerns in on the inside of our defense.
Oh. Yuck. Yuck. That's the guy who's running the Dallas Cowboys. He has the final say at least.
Yuck. Damn. I'm not going off on no whole tangent. I already, I get at the beginning of the show. Tune in on the free Odyssey app, the first hour, the first minute.
I told you how I feel about this guy. I feel bad for the Cowboy fans, but you know what? And people say this all the time. There's a lot of cases people call up and they go.
Well, if he owns the team, he can do what he wants with the team. We know that. You buy something for a couple hundred million dollars, and all of a sudden it turns into a $5, $10, $15 billion asset. You damn well can do what you want with a team. That don't mean that you know what you're doing with it, okay?
You can have a lot of money. And you could buy yourself a Bentley. You can have a lot of money and buy yourself a Lamborghini. You can buy a, or you can have a lot of money, you can get yourself a yacht. You can do what you want with the money.
That doesn't mean you're smart. It does it. I can put you in the the driver's seat of a McLaren Man, you could drive that thing into the wall. Oh, I've seen it. Doesn't mean you know what you're doing.
Having money doesn't mean you're smart. And having money. And because you own something. doesn't mean you're you're beyond and and past. Reproach, it doesn't mean you can't be criticized.
It's embarrass it's embarrassing. What's going on with the Cowboys? It's like it's a big old joke. And everybody's looking and pointing and laughing and going, ha ha, like Nelson from The Simpsons. And everybody gets it except for him because he's like, I'm the richest, I'm the richest.
Yeah, man, but the joke's on you. I remember this guy called me a few weeks ago right here. He's just like, J.R. He's like, What is your definition of winning and success? What's your definition of success?
I'm like, bro, listen, man. Having success. is winning. Like, it's like Giannis said a few years ago. It's like, hey, every year I don't win.
Am I a failure? Yeah, kind of sort of, but yeah, kind of not. Like we know you're not winning a championship every single year. If the goal is to win a championship, it's black and white. Either you succeeded or you fail.
But not everybody's goal, whether they say it loud enough or not, or whether they keep it on the hush. Everybody's goal isn't just to win a championship. You want to get closer and closer to a championship. One season just doesn't define things, a career does. You want to win, you want to get a championship.
The Dallas Cowboys have won 12 games. They win 12 games. They went 12 games in a row. 12 games in a row. That's three years, 12 games in a row.
That doesn't amount. to building on top of anything to winning. It seems like they're just going in place. And if I have to extract and look at the past 30 years, they've been a joke, they've been a laughingstock, they've gotten worse. Their owner is getting older.
He's saying crazy things. That's not winning. That is delusion. That's being nuts That's crazy. And we got a lot of bad organizations in the world of sports.
run by a lot of narcissistic billionaires who got a lot of money. A lot of people kissing they backside. Won't tell him no because why would you? You're paying me a lot of money. I'll kiss your backside.
That's just what happens. James Dolan got a lot of money. I know people who played for James Dalton in the New York Knicks. New York next treat, everybody great. Players love being a Nick.
Food is good, the plane is good, the travel is good. Oh, life is good for the Knicks. But the dysfunction from their owner with the rabbit ears, every now and then you get lucky. Right now, you hit the jackpot. Maybe he didn't screw things up with Tom Thibodeau.
I don't know why they got rid of him. Bad reasons. But that's That's the next. Horrific. Awful.
You got Jerry Jones. Can't get out of his own way. You got Bob Nutting. Oh, shout outs to the Pirates. They look like they got some life in them.
But Bob Nutting will never spend, he'll never pay. It's just a sad world. We got some bad owners. For years people thought that Jari was good. And then Jimmy left.
It's been a couple decades now. Dallas Cowboys Can't have D, can't have the Big D, can't have Dallas without. Dysfunctional. four ayasen. That's 888-710.
four I S N T Money's calling from Tucson. You're on the JR Sport Brief Show. What's up, T-Money? A great show like Nelson on The Simpsons. That's amazing.
Um, hey, I like when Cowboy fan brings up the fact that They're one of the top three grossing organizations in North American sport. Hey, we all know that there's a burger chain out there that makes more money than universe, but we still know that they're bad and they're run by a clown. Same thing with the Cowboys, man. Enough of that. You guys have to win on the field in order to be winners.
And today is a great day for everybody, not name the Cowboys, because it points out exactly everything we've been saying for the last 30 years. Also, hey, Green Bay fan. Micah's not going to make the same impact as LeBron did coming onto a new franchise. It's going to take a while. Hold your horses back up a little bit.
Niners released our new rivalry uniforms. Those things are hideous. Send them back to Nike. Thank you, sir. All right.
Thank you, T-Money. recalling from Tucson. He had to uh chime in there on the Niners' uniforms. How can I best describe these uh rivalry uniforms. They're black.
They look like the Cleveland Cavaliers. I don't. Oh no. Yeah, go go look up the 49ers rivalry uniform. I mean, every they they gonna make money off of it.
I feel like half the damn world, every sports team now comes up with alternate uniforms so the fans could spend, I don't know, 60. How much does a uniform cost? I don't know. I am not buying nobody's uniform, no thanks. And they even the the ones that are like ironed on that you gotta buy I feel like those are expensive.
Uniform is what sixty seventy dollars? And then, if you really want a real uniform, how much of those? Damn it, I don't know. Evan, do you know how much it costs for a real authentic NFL jersey? Yeah, north of a hundred I would say, or like a hundred to like one thirty.
You th I mean I would say more than that, you don't think? Yeah, I guess it depends like what team and everything. But yeah, definitely above $100. Here we go. Authentic 49 at Jersey.
Let's see. Oh, my God What is this? Men's Nike I'm at the NFL shop. Oh, you gotta be kidding me. Who's I wouldn't spend as much money for nothing.
Are you kidding me? Men's San Francisco 49ers Nick Bosa, Nike Scarlet Vapor Fuse Elite Jersey. Three hundred and fifty bucks. I don't know, man. What does this mean?
I don't even know what all this fancy, all these fancy words mean. What does that mean? Is that an authentic jar? I don't know, man. What is this?
No thanks. No, thanks. I don't need to Give me the free T-shirt when I walk in, okay? Give me that one. I ain't buying no jersey, oh my God.
eight eight eight seven ten four I S N. That's 888-710-4ISN. Rich is calling from Sacramento, California. You on the JR Sport Breeze show. What's up, Rich?
Thanks for watching. Taking my call. great with this trade. Man, as a cowboy fan. I think it's a very good idea.

Jerry had no intention of. Holding the trigger on this trade. What you play at the three weeks ago, he would have pulled this trigger before the draft. And got the two-round picks, first round pick. It's the way Mike had carried himself Do this whole thing.
Jerry will pay his players. He paid Dak, he played C D. But that nonsense was Micah on the sideline sitting there laying on a bench, eating nachos on the sidelines. Jerry wants leadership out of his players, and Micah is not that Great player outside. for the phasing.
But that's a problem to see.
Well, let me uh well hold up. Yeah, well That's that's tough to swallow. When I have never heard of an owner who has been as antagonistic. towards his player and his representation. As I've had with Micah.
Have you? No.
However, look at it this way. He could have picked up. He could have got more. For Micah, if he had an intent. To trade him right before the draft, he did.
And I believe that the way Mike had carried himself through this whole process. But the whole point. The whole process doesn't start or begin in February or March or April. They could have had a deal and a contract done. last year.
And so If we if we're gonna play the the blame game, whose fault was it? There's no blame. There's rationality, there's logic. And he probably did think. Micah wanted that much money going into this thing.
No, Rich. You heard me. There is, whether you want to call it logic or blame game. You're saying you're fine with this guy being gone. Would you agree Would you agree that Michael Parsons is a Hall of Fame talent?
I don't know yet. No, I didn't. No, no, no. No, no, no, no, no, Rich. You've listened to me.
No, no, no, no, it's. No, let's not do that. Be quiet. A stop. I'm not asking you.
Whether or not he's going into the Hall of Fame, Rich. It's a very simple question. Do you believe? based on what you've seen from Micah Parsons, A guy who has given you almost 12 sacks plus. Every year the For the past four out of five years, something that only some guy named Reggie White has done.
And based on what you've seen, it is a very simple question. Do you believe he is a Hall of Fame caliber talent? Yes or no? I can't say yes, and I can't say no.
Okay, Rich, thank you for calling from Sacramento. Come on, you don't know, you're watching? Do you know what's going on? I'm not asking you to tell me the Powerball numbers. It's simple.
Okay, I can say. Having watched LeBron James, Okay, for the past what, twenty two years. LeBron James is a Hall of Fame talent. It's that simple. You know, I I can ascertain.
You know, looking at a guy like, I don't know. Like Hey, Jason Kelsey and Travis Kelsey, one guy's career is over, one guy's career is close to being over. They're Hall of Fame caliber players. I can tell you, I can look at a guy that's played a long time, a guy like Von Miller. I can say, oh, he's a Hall of Fame caliber player.
What are you doing on the field? It's simple as that. And we got guys who are good, we got guys who are great. We got guys who are doing things. I could tell you from a few years ago.
Was it difficult for you to look at Patrick Mahomes after three seasons and go, oh, yeah, he's a Hall of Fame caliber player?
Well, I can't tell you that. I don't know. Oh, he won an MVP. He won the Super Bowl a couple of them. I don't know if he's a, I can't tell you that.
Look at what he's done. Hall of Fame caliber players just don't grow on trees. And if you're looking at the rationale, Jerry Jones has a history of being a jackass.
So, yeah, you could be fine. Michael Parsons, though, he did himself in. Jerry Jones has been doing himself in for years. He's looking himself in the mirror going, Damn, I'm good You're a loser. You're making a lot of money, but you're losing on the football field.
And yeah, just maybe, maybe, possibly, the Dallas Cowboys end up winners. in this in a a season or two from now. Possibly, but based on Jerry Jones' history and how he interacts with his stars. He's the loser. The Dallas Cowboys this season are losers.
Do they look like a championship caliber team? I mean, how many years of 12 and 5, 12 and 5, 12 and 5? Oh, yeah, last year everybody was hurt. This year is going to be the backup?
Well the bounce back? I highly doubt it. Highly. Doubt it. Congratulations to the packers.
You got yourselves one. Eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's 888-710-4ISN. I'm going to get to more of your calls on the other side. Of course, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history, and it must be something going on in Texas because we got another guy. He used to play.
in Arlington. Used to play for the Rangers. He's running for. He's running for Congress? I'm going to tell you who it is.
We got more to do. It's the JR Sport Reshow, the Infinity Sports Network. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It is the JR Sport Brief Show on the Infinity Sports Network. Eight eight eight seven ten four I S N.
That's 888. It's seven ten. four I S N We got a lot of callers here. Thoughts on the Dallas Cowboys? I'd say Eight out of ten, nine out of ten people.
Look at this Micah Parsons situation and just kind of shake their heads at. what Jerry Jones did. I think two out of ten, maybe one out of ten people just go Now I'm glad he's gone good.
Okay, that's fine. I'm just looking at at past history. We had a caller last segment. He's just. I'm like, hey, do you think Michael Parsons is a Hall of Fame caliber talent?
I don't know. Okay, then there's no point in us having a conversation. You don't know a whole hell of a lot, then. 888-710-4ISN. At the end of the show, of course, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history.
I'm waiting on the black College Football Hall of Fame Classic. That's getting ready to go down this Sunday, August 31st. I'm waiting on that. That's that's gonna b be a lot of fun. 888-710-4ISN.
And I told you since we we got so much conversations going on about things in the Metroplex and Dallas and Arlington. and Fort Worth. We got a guy. who used to play for the Texas Rangers. Won a World Series with the New York Yankees.
There's a dude. Who wants to be a part of Congress Listen to this news report. From KVUE. A name familiar with baseball fans is getting into the race for Congress. Today, former Major League Baseball player Mark Teixeira announced he's running for Roy's District 21 congressional seat, including parts of Austin.
Teixeira started his baseball career with the Texas Rangers before winning a World Series with the New York Yankees in 2009. The Republicans say he is a lifelong conservative who is ready to fight for Texas values. The primary election is next March. Aye, good for him. I can't vote down.
I'm not in Texas. I'm in Georgia. I'm in Atlanta. Damn, all these midterm elections coming. I wish people would be more interested in midterm elections as opposed to every four years.
I think we'd be better off people paying attention to their local politics, everything going on. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. Participate in the system as much as you can. Hey, we got Mark from California.
You're on the JR Sport Reef show. What's up, Mark? What's going on? Um it has been this has been crazy, man. Kyle Schwarber hits four home runs a day since.
That's right. That's kind of wild to remember that. But The the Packers hosted the Adafruit draft. And they took a wide receiver in the first round since two thousand and two and they traded.
Okay. This is all in a four-month span, which is just like They are all the way in and I mean you got Milwaukee. The Brewers playing twice of the best baseball of their entire franchise.
So it's like this is going to be. This is a good time for Milwaukee. This is why this trade is so crazy, JR, because Over the last four years, the Cowboys are the league's best defense with Parsons on the field by EPA per play. 1039, that's the place sample. They're the league's second worst defense, that same stretch on EPA per play when he's not on the field.
So it's so crazy to think that one guy changes the defense. But his defense is going to go from Like mid with Parsons on the field to like historically, probably bad.
Well, they were historically bad in the pandemic. They had the worst year ever in season. And they they were able to get their hands on him kinda as a result.
So Welcome to a new world. The Dallas Cowboys, and Jerry Jones can try to explain it. Every which way that he can. There is no, there's no way in hell. That you move Michael Parsons off of the field and then try to explain to the world.
That the team is now better defensively without him.
Okay, fine.
Okay, fine.
Sure. My buddy told me he's a Maverick fan. He's like, man, I can't believe. That's great. And now I gotta talk to him again about the trade empartment.
Yeah, we're gonna go. Yeah, let's trade. Yeah, let's trade Parsons. Let's trade Donchich. I don't know.

Pretty soon, too. I don't know. Not wishing it on the guys, but hey, who knows? Yeah, no, it's real, man. And I mean, I was even going on that Linden saying, like, you know, in baseball.
You get the wins above replacement, and a guy elevates your team a certain amount of like wins. Yeah. But how come you can't take a look at Griebay's record and add an extra one to two wins with this guy lining up right next to Rashawn Gary? Wow. There's going to be a lot of jealousy.
And thank you, Mark, for calling from Cali. There's going to be a lot of jealousy when Cowboy fans just watch him go out there. and uh wreck the world. as he used to do for them. It's kinda set.
He's going to make his debut Micah Parsons well. Against the Detroit Lions. Sunday the seventh, four twenty five p.m. We got an extra reason to watch now. On CBS.
888-710-4ISN Trenton. is calling from Saint Louis. You're on the J.R. Sport Brief Show. What's up, Trenton?
E Man, I can't believe I got through. I really appreciate you. I really don't have a sports take, and I know I would ask you how you're doing, but I know you're well. Um Yeah, it's not amazing. I tell you what, man, I lost Box Sports radio.
and was scanning through my H D radio and came up on you and I swear to God, man, I love the show. It is amazing. It is Absolutely perfect. It is I love your take. Everybody loves the cadence.
I even tried talking to my lady, slow like you do. And guess what? They worked out. It's pretty nice. Oh nice.
Well damn it.
Well, Dan, I don't know what to say. I wish it worked out for me too, Trent. Look at you. You're doing better on me. Look, I don't care if it works out for you.
It worked out for me. She was like, she turned in. Does she have a sister? Does she have a sister? She does, but you don't want none of that.
Is she ugly? Sister's ugly then. Oh, my lady? No, your sister's your sis. No, your lady's sister.
She yeah, they are you don't want that.
Okay. All right. No doubt. You know, Mark, I wouldn't set you up like that, bro.
Well, thank you. But look, man, I tell you what, too, at the same time, the Odyssey app. has changed the way that I've been able to listen to radio. When you talk about delivery drivers, that's what I do. I'm a FedEx driver, and I swear to God, man, look, if I listen to most of your show, I love the way I can go to.
Just the different segments. And I love the way that I just put it on in the morning. If I didn't finish the whole show at the night, I'll put it on in the morning and roll right in and and and log you back in.
Well, I appreciate that. I'll make sure that I'll send that over to our new CEO. She'll love that, okay? Yeah, absolutely. And the the Micah Parsons trade, just real quick.
Yeah. Guess what? I thought they were gonna just Give them the money like opening day or whatever. And I pulled up to my last delivery. This guy is a Dallas fan.
He was wearing the hat today. Oh, boy. He had not heard about it. My my boy hit me up with it. And he goes.
He got the bag, and I go, okay. And then he sent me a sec a second text and he goes, With Green Bay. And I said, oh no.
So I let the guy know, and he was devastated. Yeah. He was devastated.
Well, that guy's hat is in the trash now. Yeah, he uh he almost he took it off while I was there actually. Yeah, that had some extra. Hey, I appreciate you, man. I really love this show.
And it's been great. And just keep doing what you're doing, man. You're doing a good thing for people that like to listen to sports and Don't like the BS. Yeah, well, thank you. You call me any time, Trinide.
I'm here. You know when to find me. I'm gonna hit you back. All right. Well, please do.
Shout outs to Trend. Have a good weekend. All right. Make that money. Appreciate you, man.
No doubt. Trenton for calling from St. Louis. 888-710-4ISN. At the end of the show, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history.
But right now he has all the news. I'm glad he's here. You didn't get traded at Green Bay. It's Marco Belletti. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief.
Yeah, yeah, I like the far north. I like every I like the far south. I am I'm in the deep south, I'm not in the far south. Yeah, I like the deep south. I like the south-south, the east coast, the west, the mid-south.
I like everything. I like everybody. Evan, you you like everybody too, right? Yeah, everybody, especially the deep north. The deep not that deep north.
Uh Let's see. Would that be like Maine or something? Like is that the deep north? I guess it's the far north, but yeah. Or up north, but Maine sounds about right.
Where would be Deep North? Would Deep North be New York? No.
I don't think deep north is New York. If I'm in the deep south, And I'm in northern Georgia. And it is more south. And if you're in New York, you're in the north, but then there's more north like Boston.
So, I mean, Would Deep North be Boston? 'Cause then there's more after that. Yeah, I guess it depends where you are, right? Because Deep North is Canada for people in Maine. Yeah.
You're right. Look at us, geography wizards. Uh, Patrick Mahomes uh found some time to attend a football game. He's at this Nebraska game with Cincinnati. His twin is out there, Dylan Rayola.
Let's see what he does. Is he re Evan? Is he really trying to be Patrick Mahomes Jr.? He's doing the celebrations and. And all this other stuff, what's the deal with him?
