Tyrese Halliburton's incredible performance has the Indiana Pacers on the verge of advancing to the NBA finals, while the New York Knicks' season appears to be coming to an end. In the NFL, the Pittsburgh Steelers are waiting on Aaron Rodgers, and the Cleveland Browns are experimenting with multiple quarterbacks, including Chidori Sanders and Caleb Williams, who has denied previous reports that he didn't want to play for the Chicago Bears.

I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Much love and many thanks to everybody tuned in and locked in all over North America. I hope you had a great Wednesday. I hope you're having a great Wednesday. I hope you're having a good middle of the week. It's my job to get you over the hump. This is when the show gets started every single weekday at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific.

I'm in Atlanta. Thank you. Thank you to our producer in New York City, Chris Persianin. And again, thank you to you for being here. Because if you're not here, if you're not listening, we're not here either. Okay? We got a lot to get into over the next four hours.

Of course, it's Wednesday. Every Wednesday I bring you a new top six list. And based on some of the actions and some of the things that we've seen here in the NBA playoffs, including last night, I'm going to give you a top six list of clutch players that we've ever seen in the NBA. Who do you want out there taking a final shot? Who have been some of the biggest clutch performers that we've seen?

It's tough to narrow it down to six, but I did. I bring that to you in two hours from now. We know later on tonight, the Oklahoma City Thunder have a chance to advance to the NBA finals. The Minnesota Timberwolves, they have a chance to try and stay alive as OKC now has a 3-1 series lead. Last night, we saw the Pacers take a 3-1 series lead against the New York Knicks. And yes, John Halliburton, the father of Tyrese. He was finally back in the building to see it. Got some more news coming out of the NFL.

Of course, why not? We got Mike Vrabel having to discuss potential paraphernalia moving of Stephon Diggs on a boat. You heard me correctly, I will explain. There are some other guys who are still not at work. I saw Miles Garrett is hanging out in Tokyo, Japan. He just got paid 40 plus million dollars.

He has leverage to do whatever the hell he wants. Caleb Williams, he says he wanted to play for the Chicago Bears. Much different than what we heard. And then speaking of things that we heard, damn late last night, it started making the rounds.

Terry Bradshaw cannot stand Aaron Rodgers. But I think we knew that already. So we got a lot to get into, a lot to discuss. Here's the phone number to the show.

You ready for this? Don't write it down, especially if you're driving. Don't do that at all. Here's the number 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN.

If you use the internet, it's very simple. You can find me everywhere I exist at JR Sport Brief. What a day, what a day. Another day.

Another day breathing the air is a good one. Chris, how are you on this Wednesday? You okay? Yeah, man. Doing good.

Always great to work with you. It's a little nice sometimes getting in earlier to the station instead of the usual overnight shift. The sun isn't out when you get out, but it's out when you get there.

That's new. I'm happy that you're seeing some sunlight. That's always a good thing.

Well, I think most people, people, plants, living things, I think most of them, maybe not bats and nocturnal creatures, things that are deep in the ocean. The sun is good for everybody. Anytime that you can breathe the air and see the sun, it's a good thing. That's kind of going to lead me into just getting this part of the show the hell up on over with, because it looks like we're going to be chatting about the Indiana Pacers, I want to say, for the next several weeks. Unless the New York Knicks show a pulse tomorrow in New York City, unless the New York Knicks want to win three straight game against the Pacers, this season is done. There's no more sunlight. There's no more flowers blooming. There's no more optimism.

There are no more street signs. I'm sure they'll get auctioned off or maybe they'll give them to the players. All the optimism and chaos and trash tossing and trash talking surrounding the New York Knicks. Because it'll be done if they lose one more game this series.

They were on the brink of elimination last night. The Pacers lit them up 130 to 121. Halliburton had a game that we have never, ever seen in the NBA before. This man went out there and put up 32 points, 15 assists, grabbed 12 rebounds, and turned the ball over.

Not once. That's a record. Okay, they've been counting individual turnovers, recording them since 1978 in the NBA. And we've never seen a stat line like that. This man handles the basketball all damn game. It's pushing the pace like a madman like we've never seen in the NBA before. And this is the same dude that a couple of months ago, a select well enough NBA players decided to vote Tyrese Halliburton as the most overrated man in the league. You don't look overrated right now. This man is helping to take his team to an NBA finals. I know the fat lady hasn't sung yet.

Pardon the cliche. I know the Knicks aren't dead and buried. I know they still got a couple of breaths left in them, but the dirt has started to be shoveled on their season. There was a lot of optimism that they would go to the Eastern Conference Finals, face off against the Boston Celtics. They bring in Anna Nolby. They trade for bridges.

They do all of this. They get the wings thinking that they're going to compete with the Boston Celtics. They beat the Celtics.

Unfortunately, they got hurt, were hurt. And the Pacers look like they're just running them out of the postseason. Tyrese Halliburton last night, he said, we did things the Pacers way. We went up and down the court. We did it our way. We did a great job of just playing our way, you know, the whole game, keeping pace in the game and just playing pace for basketball. So I thought we responded really well, which we've proven that we do after tough losses really all year and especially in these playoffs.

So really proud of our effort as a group. Everybody loves this. Well, at least the Pacers love them. A lot of Indianapolis celebrities in attendance last night. John Mellencamp. OK, let's see who else was sitting there. I saw Jermaine O'Neal was there.

Lance Stevenson, originally from Brooklyn, New York, sitting on the sidelines. Why 50 Cent decided to show up at a Pacers game? I don't know.

Didn't care to look it up. Triple H was there. Yeah, the wrestler.

Yeah. Well, now he runs the place kind of sorta. Man, we and then we had Pat McAfee just cursing like a sailor, telling all the New Yorkers like Spike Lee to go the hell back home to New York City.

Use some words that I will not use here on the radio. But everybody loves Halliburton now, I guess only in Indianapolis. This guy gets made fun of online like he's basketball playing Steve Urkel. People talk about Tyrese Halliburton like his voice changes.

One day is high and one day it's low. They call this guy a nerd. This is a nerd on his way to the NBA finals. Almost Pascal Siakam, who has championship experience.

Let's not forget. Pascal Siakam was a part of that 2019 Raptors squad with a long along with Kawhi Leonard, a one year rental. They went ahead and won a championship. Pascal Siakam knows what a championship team looks like. Pascal Siakam had 30 points last night.

That's what Pascal Siakam had to say about Tyrese Halliburton. He's amazing. Like when when he's playing that way and just the pace and getting us in in position and then also being aggressive, like just finding that balance of doing both like is is. Yeah, we know he's a he's a pass first kind of guy, but he also was able to get us big buckets whenever we need them.

That man was getting them buckets. And so the New York Knicks, they look lost on defense. They cannot stop this man. They can't slow him down. Carl Anthony Towns is grabbing at his knee at the beginning of the game, at the end of the game. We know he ain't necessarily hounded anybody outside on the perimeter.

A big dude. We know Jalen Brunson compromised due to his side. He ain't necessarily holding anybody down. The New York Knicks have to figure out their defense. And unlike Tyrese Halliburton, the New York Knicks have to figure out how to hold on to the ball as the Pacers want to push the pace. And the Pacers are basically pushing them out of the postseason.

I mean, damn it. The New York Knicks had 17 turnovers last night. That led to 20 points for the Indiana Pacers, 20 points off of turnovers. The New York Knicks basically gave them that game in a little different way than they did in game one. The New York Knicks gave this one away. Brunson had 31, Towns had 27, Josh Hart had 12 points. And then that man decided to also go out there and have five turnovers.

The head coach of the New York Knicks, Tom Thibodeau, he pretty much said the same thing. He's like, we can't win if we're giving the ball to the other team. You turn it over against them, particularly the live ball turnovers, you're fueling, you know, transition game. And we started slowly and then we fought back in them, but we didn't close the half well the last minute and a half.

You know, it wasn't good. And we started the third slow, slowly, and then we fought to come back. And well, we kept digging out of holes.

Wow. Listen, digging out a hole, you're damn right digging out of holes. The New York Knicks are going to have to dig out of an even deeper hole. Down, 3-1.

It's almost curtains. Tyrese Halliburton has already gone off. The Knicks can win three in a row against this team.

They can. I'm not banking on it. I'm not calling it likely.

I'm not expecting it. And I believe that the New York Knicks this season is done. I expected a seven game series. I only gave it to the New York Knicks because they have home court advantage. Well, they screwed that up in the very first game. The New York Knicks can win three in a row.

I'm not banking on it. I want you to hear from Mikel Bridges because he's one of the guys, one of the guards, one of the forwards that the New York Knicks traded and acquired multiple first round picks to get for the sole purpose of guarding someone like Tatum, somebody like Brown, someone like Halliburton. And Mikel Bridges, I guess he's just as lost as everybody as to how you slow this guy down. Or maybe he has a solution. Listen. I just keep him out in space.

I think that's what it is. Just keep him out in space and let him play from there. I got to do a better job.

We got to do a better job controlling that and helping each other. Oh, man. He sounds he sounds like a New Yorker, like he sounds miserable. He sounds sad with the New York Knicks fans that were throwing trash at that Pacers fan. How miserable last night did Spike Lee look on the sidelines? I don't know. I think 50 Cent just showed up so he could be on TV so he can make fun of Puff Daddy.

I'm sorry. I don't call that man Diddy. He will be puffy. Puff Daddy. He might be in jail pretty soon.

Prison, excuse me. The New York Knicks fans are going to be real sad real soon. They showed a lot of heart against the Boston Celtics.

We've seen them come back even this past Sunday against the Pacers. Karl-Anthony Towns lost his mind. We don't know what the status of his knee is going to look like. It's not looking good for the New York Knicks.

This is not a eulogy. I can't even say this is a warning. We know their current situation, and it's just not good. Prepare yourselves, because later tonight, we could pretty much put the nail in the coffin for the Minnesota Timberwolves. They ain't coming back and winning three straight. Unless Shea Gilgus Alexander something catastrophic happens to that man. If it's not tonight, it'll be the next game. If it's not the next game, if they got to push it to seven, it's curtains for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Alex Rodriguez is going to have to find somewhere else to sit or stand where he could be the center of attention. I guess what his new girlfriend?

Why not? Age appropriate to unlike Belichick. Good luck to the New York Knicks tomorrow. Hey, good luck to the Minnesota Timberwolves today.

Trying to stay alive. Everybody says it's the unofficial start to summer memorial days. The unofficial start to summer. Well, it looks like the New York Knicks and the Minnesota Timberwolves. They better start getting ready for vacation because their next loss is it for this entire season.

Good luck to the J.R. sport. We show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network, and we'll talk about Minnesota and we'll get into OKC. I mean, there was even still conversations about Anthony Edwards, his poor performance in the last game and whether he's the face of the league. And didn't that man tell you already he doesn't want that? Charles Barkley brought it up. Kendrick Perkins had some comments on that.

Of course he did. Hilarious comments, too, by the way. I'll share them with you. And we got so much more to do in two hours from now. Yeah, it's going to be a new top six list. We're going to take a look at some of the best clutch performers that we have ever seen in the NBA. Yeah.

Who's the best guy in the league that you want taking a game winning shot? Is Halliburton on the list? No, not yet. Hit another big shot. Is Reggie Miller on the list?

Potentially. I'll tell you about it in two hours. We got a lot of news in the NFL training camps all across America. Guys who are still, I don't know, Miles Garrett's in Japan.

Stefan Diggs is hanging out on a boat with a bunch of women. None of my business, but apparently it is the Patriots business. He just got a new contract and he's not at work. Voluntary. Remember?

It's all voluntary. So we got a lot to do. If you want to give me a call, you can. 888-710-4ISN is the number.

That's 888-710-4ISN. You know what? Matter of fact, when we come back from break, we'll get into tonight's NBA matchup between the Thunder and the Wolves.

The Wolves trying to stay alive. But we'll talk some quarterbacks on the other side. Because apparently last night, yesterday, we had some quarterback on quarterback crime, or at least the verbal kind. And apparently we have some updates. We have some some excited fans, I guess, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Yeah. You want to know how Chador played today in practice? You want to know how he stuck up or stood out with everybody else like Flacco and Gabriel and Pickett? I'll tell you on the other side of the break, we got Jamar Chase with some news. We got Caleb Williams, who says he's happy to be in Chicago. We got a lot to do.

I'm just getting started. I'll get to your calls. We'll talk some quarterbacks on the other side. It's the J.R. Sport Brief Show Coast to Coast on the Infinity Sports Network.

It is the J.R. Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. Hey, I told you, yes, it's not officially summer, but we're almost there. We're past Memorial Day with the New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves.

They may be having their summer plans set up already. It may not extend before day for maybe dammit for Minnesota. It may not extend past tonight. The New York Knicks this season may end tomorrow. We'll get into Oklahoma City. We'll talk about Minnesota.

We'll do that at the top of the hour. I do want to get into some NFL action. We all know that OTAs are underway and that we can now, you know, think ahead. Well, unless you happen to be the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Pittsburgh Steelers are still waiting on Aaron Rodgers. And last night, as I was here on the air, there's there's one stealer in particular, a legendary stealer, a Super Bowl champion, multiple times over stealer, a Hall of Fame steal.

There's a stealer prominently displayed on TV every damn week. His name is Terry Bradshaw. Terry Bradshaw is sick of Aaron Rodgers. Dammit, this man was sick of Aaron Rodgers years ago. Terry Bradshaw was sick of this man in covid when he was deceptive about the shot.

And now Terry Bradshaw is sick of the Steelers, his beloved team sitting around and waiting on Aaron Rodgers. I shared with you yesterday what Aaron Rodgers had to say. This man was sitting around on a podcast over the weekend. You never know podcast. He was asked by a young lady, a little girl, if he would ever consider playing in Chicago. And of course, a little girl would ask that. No grown man is asking Aaron Rodgers, are you going to play for the Bears?

They got Caleb Williams, who, by the way, I'll tell you what he said today about playing in Chicago. Apparently, now he loves it. This is what Aaron Rodgers had to say in response to the little girl.

Listen to all of it. Will Aaron Rodgers ever go to the Bears? Oh, boy. Security. We'll get her out of here. Security. Security.

Can you take it easy on her? No, but I believe there's a team that might play in Chicago this year. Road trip. I don't know. I'm sure. Check it out. Are you speaking in code? I love Chicago, though, way more than they love me.

It's been a great relationship all one way. Maybe Terry Bradshaw doesn't want that. The smugness of Aaron Rodgers in the Steel City.

But if you're the Steelers, they're basically in the same damn position as the New York Jets were a little desperate right now. They went for Kenny Pickett. Kenny Pickett didn't work. A lot of people would tell you, including Terry Bradshaw, that the offensive line stunk and that they failed Kenny Pickett. I don't think Kenny Pickett has the athleticism to be a full time quarterback in the league.

That's just me. They've been looking for QB. They got everything except for the quarterback to take them over the edge.

This is a team that will go to the postseason every year and lose to, I don't know, the Baltimore Ravens. Like this is this is status quo. They got to switch things up. They got to wait.

And they've said that they're going to wait. Art Rooney, like a month ago, he was talking to meetings or not meetings. He was talking to the media at the owners meetings. And Art Rooney, the third, basically said this is more than a month ago. Yeah, we're going to wait for Aaron Rodgers just a little while longer.

Listen to this. Nothing new on the Aaron Rodgers front. You know, we'll see what happens. And hopefully we'll know something soon. Are you content to wait? Well, not forever, but a little longer. How do you envision it taking this long and playing out the way that it didn't envision taking this long?

Yeah, I didn't envision it taking this long. Aaron Rodgers is on vacation. He's sitting around doing podcasts over Memorial Day weekend. He's probably jet setting all over the place somewhere.

I saw his ex girlfriend, Danica Patrick, is talking crap about him. He's probably figuring out three months from now when he wants to respond to her. But the Pittsburgh Steelers, they're handcuffed. We know that they're not going to run Mason Rudolph out there.

OK, we know that's not going to happen. They're going to wait and wait and wait for Aaron Rodgers. Mike Tomlin, somebody always kind of sort of gets what he wants, except for another playoff victory. Even he was asked about a month ago about meeting with Aaron Rodgers and how good it was. But Aaron Rodgers is like, listen, y'all could practice football.

I'm gonna be on the beach. Listen to what Mike Tomlin had to say to reporters. He's a free agent. As you guys know, he came to visit last Friday. We had a really productive day. He's been in this thing a long time. I've been in this thing a long time. But it's no substitute for, you know, intimacy and spending time together and getting to know one another in a non-competitive environment. So that was really good.

But I don't have any new updates in terms of where the process is. Ooh, football intimacy. That's a new one. I've never heard a football coach talk about football intimacy. Thank you, Mike Tomlin. Mike Tomlin always was something new. But I told you Terry Bradshaw spoke.

One oh three seven the buzz out in Arkansas yesterday. Let me tell you, Terry Bradshaw has no interest in any type of intimacy with Aaron Rodgers, football intimacy. But of course, he has no interest in Aaron Rodgers even being part of the team that he has played his legendary Hall of Fame career. He wants nothing to do with this man. And listen, listen to what Terry Bradshaw had to say yesterday. You also hear the voice of Dan Hampton out in Arkansas.

Listen to them. That's a joke. He shouldn't.

That is just to me is a joke. What are you going to bring him in for one year? Are you kidding me? I mean, that's not the Steelers way, right? No, man. That guy needs to stay in California and go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there.

A hundred percent. These guys on the show, Mr. Bradshaw, no, I'm not a fan of his. We've been around each other personally and he was not a kind person. Now, he does not. I had to go over and introduce myself to him. He he's not. I had to go, hey, hey, Aaron, I'm Terry Bradshaw.

I know he knows me, but I just felt like I better tell him who I am. Yeah. And not, you know, walk in there and you get in his presence and you feel like it's going to start snowing.

That's an ice cold. You know what? The Steelers are going to get their man and they'll be competitive. The Steelers will probably get Aaron Rodgers if he makes it through an entire season. They'll go to the playoffs and guess what? They'll lose in the first round. That's just a thought. That's just a thought. I don't know who the hell they gonna throw the ball to.

Once you get past D.K. Metcalf, Pickens is now going to make Dallas miserable in about two years after he gets his contract. But yeah, I love the Steelers. I like the Steelers. I root for them. I do. But Aaron Rodgers, welcome.

I don't. Things might be different than with the Jets. Mike Tomlin is an established head coach. This man will not be walked over.

I think Aaron Rodgers has his full respect. We I don't know if we're going to get weekly press conferences and interviews with Pat McAfee, but the Steelers are getting ready to sign up for the New York Jets experience. Except for this one may actually make to the postseason.

Good luck. Eight, eight, eight, seven, ten for ISN. That's eight, eight, eight, seven, ten for ISN. Hey, let's go to Cleveland.

Speaking of quarterbacks, they got like 20 of them. Hey, Simon, you're on the JR Sportbreeze show. What's up? Hey, Simon, you're live on the radio.

Yeah, just before I get to my browns point, I don't actually actively have a radio on me. You just put me on hold after the call. So I can hear your response. I don't know what the heck you just said. You got to talk a little slower for me. Yes, we can do that. All right.

Thank you. I want to know what do you think? In Cleveland, we're all hoping that Chidori gets the job. But I don't know. No one really thinks that he could actually put them over the hump. So which one of the four Browns quarterbacks do you think could really put the Browns over the hump? Which the Browns which one of the existing Browns quarterbacks can get them over the hump? Not necessarily to be competitive to be like a seven, eight win team.

Oh, man. Well, shoot, man, I don't think that's that's happening this year. I think what we're going to see this year is just a gigantic experiment.

I think if you're a Cleveland Browns fan and you're looking for seven or eight wins, I think you might have to realistically maybe hope that it comes next year. I mean, you're testing out Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett. You got Dylan Gabriel who got drafted before Chidori. I think what the hope is, is that Chidori at some point in time this season gets a few starts, can kind of snatch the job and show people that he has potential that some people thought he had. But the other guys, Joe Flacco is going to be sitting on his couch in retirement sooner than later. Kenny Pickett has been in the league enough.

He couldn't hack it. OK, now that he's on his third team already. And Dylan Gabriel, apparently his size, this guy looks too damn small and nobody even looked at him as being someone that would be drafted higher than Chidori. So I would say prepare for one hell of a season. You're going to just get one quarterback after another. And I'm sure you you've heard the cliche.

If you got more than one quarterback, you you don't have any. So prepare yourself, Simon. Thank you for calling from Cleveland. Thank you. No doubt about it. That's yeah, man. By the way, if you want a little bit of optimism surrounding Chidori Sanders and the Cleveland Browns, they practice today at OTAs. I will remind you, it's May. OK, it's May. It's not September. This is not a game on Sunday against the Ravens.

No, this is this is May in practice. Because everybody in Cleveland is watching every pass. Today, Chidori Sanders got nine snaps, completed seven passes for three touchdowns. Joe Flacco, nine of 14 for a touchdown.

Dylan Gabriel, 11 of 16, two touchdowns and an interception. And Kenny Pickett. Remember, they used to talk about Kenny Pickett, how small his hands are for NFL quarterback.

Nine of 16, zero touchdowns, zero interceptions. Sounds about right for Kenny Pickett. And they're going to throw out everybody. Joe Flacco is going to get the start. And then he's going to get the hook. Then they're going to throw out Kenny Pickett. And then I think at that point, Chidori will get his chance and opportunity.

Or if Dylan Gabriel is looking better than him in practice and then he'll get the chance. We're going to see all four. It's going to be a bleep show in Cleveland this year. Prepare yourselves for the team is appropriately named the Browns.

What else is new? It's the J.R. sport. We show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network, eight, eight, eight, seven, ten for ISN.

That's eight, eight, eight, seven, ten for ISN. We heard from Terry Bradshaw. This man is not happy that the Steelers are waiting on Aaron Rodgers.

We just talked about the Browns. When we come back, we're going to talk about a quarterback. Well, his job is set. He's not going anywhere.

And today he tried to kill off rumors that he never wanted to be there at all. I'm going to tell you about Caleb Williams on the other side of the break at the top of the hour. We're going to talk about Oklahoma City trying to close out Minnesota and advance to the NBA finals.

We got a lot more to do. You're locked into the J.R. sport re-show on the Infinity Sports Network. And right now it's time for a news flash. It is the J.R. sport re-show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. Hey, we talked about Terry Bradshaw, this man, his beloved Steelers. He's angry. He's upset that they're sitting around waiting on Aaron Rodgers.

And then we had a caller from Cleveland, Ohio. He was asking, what's it going to take for the Browns to get to seven to eight wins? And I said, wait, wait until next season.

Not this one coming up, not 2025. Wait until 2026, because this upcoming Cleveland Browns season is going to be nothing but a gigantic Petri dish. How do you say Petri dish? I don't know if they still do that. Chris, did you ever use a Petri dish in school?

Yeah, they still do it. That's how you say it, too. You nailed it. You dropped that. Well, yeah, I misspoke. I know what the Petri dish is.

Chris, thank you very much. Oh, I thought you were questioning. All right, my bad. No, I wasn't.

I think I've been around long enough to know what a Petri dish is. Every now and then. Hey, Chris, you talked for four hours. Every word isn't going to come out smooth, OK? I think maybe on your show it does more often than others. Like I said yesterday, it's the smoothest sports talk radio show. Oh, thank you, Chris.

I appreciate that. Speaking of a Petri dish, that's what the Browns season is going to be. And take a couple of drops of some stuff, some living, breathing thing that is so damn microscopic, they're going to look at how it squirms and moves around and they're going to throw it out and try something else. That's the Cleveland Browns season in a nutshell. Prepare yourselves.

OK, prepare yourselves. Hey, that's the Browns. There's another NFL team.

They know exactly what the hell they're going to do. OK, there's another NFL team. They know who their quarterback is. And if he's not their quarterback, then Ryan polls will be fired. Talking about the Chicago Bears and Caleb Williams.

So we heard the stories coming out of the book that's getting released later this year about how both he and his dad wanted. Absolutely nothing to do with the Chicago Bears. His dad is quoted in the book as saying the Chicago Bears. Are where quarterbacks in their careers go to die, that Caleb Williams met with the Minnesota Vikings and head coach Kevin O'Connell. And that that's where he wanted to go and that they really considered thinking about just blowing the whole situation up. They considered and thought about trash in Chicago.

So the Bears wouldn't select them. Well, today in OTAs, Caleb Williams was back in front of the media for the first time since this came out. His head coach, Ben Johnson, had to address it. He's like, listen, man, I just got hired. What happened before I got here doesn't have a damn thing to do with me.

My conversations with Caleb Williams are very indicative of the fact that he wants to be here and that he's progressing. What's old is old. What's new is new.

I'm new. He didn't say all that, but I paraphrase for you. OK, I said that.

Caleb Williams spoke today and I don't know if he cleaned it. He did too much explaining. OK, the guy spoke straight for almost four minutes. Didn't take a question.

Basically said, hey, everything that was put out about me not wanting to be here in Chicago, it was it was miscast and they were just thoughts. And of course, they were thoughts. And it was natural to think. And if you were a young man like me and you, you know, my dad and we're thinking about my future and where I might get drafted, they were just. Thoughts. I think everybody knew that they were thoughts. OK, it was just that your father relayed those thoughts to a guy who wrote a book.

I think we all know that. And so I think he did a little too much defending than he needed to do. I mean, if he evaluates the pocket that way, if he evaluates coverages that way, and then maybe Caleb Williams is thinking too damn much.

Maybe that's well, that's one of the reasons why he got sacked a crap ton of times last year. This man, Caleb Williams, let's take a listen to his explanation, because he said that they basically brought me to the team to turn things around. That's the goal. Listen to this.

You know, all those things, like I said, were thoughts. But the main goal and the main objective of being here is to turn around. That's why I was selected number one. And so, you know, that's what we're here to do. That's what they brought me here to do.

That's what they brought all these guys here to do. Yeah, thoughts. Everybody has thoughts. Everybody has thoughts. People have good thoughts. They have bad thoughts. Everybody has thoughts. Do you always say what's on your mind? Did his dad have to share the family's thoughts in a book?

He didn't have to do that. Everybody has thoughts. People think about things all the time.

That doesn't mean they act upon them, both good and bad. How many people know somebody that always has an idea? They're always thinking something up?

Do they actually act on any of it or just full of crap and all that talking? Come on now. And Chris Rock told the joke a long time ago. It was about thoughts. He's given an example about, you know, there's certain things you you're not supposed to do to somebody. You can think about it, but you're not supposed to do it. Everybody has thoughts. They share their thoughts in a book. And now he went overboard in trying to explain it.

We had to truncate this. The man spoke for four minutes and two minutes were just like, hey, they were all thoughts. They were all thoughts. I mean, he had the bears say, hey, I need a guy with 40 touchdowns.

I need somebody to throw for more than 4000 yards, 3000 yards, 2000 yards. I mean, thoughts. We get it. You got thoughts.

Next time, keep them to yourself or tell your dad. Caleb Williams, he says, I love it here in Chicago. I'm here to turn things around. I love it.

Forget my old thoughts. I want to come here, you know, be the guy and be a part and be a reason why Chicago Bears turn this thing around. So that last thing that was said and all of that, I think was the most important thing is that I wanted to be here. I love being here. I love my teammates. I love all the people that they got me here. Family, friends, Ryan, Kevin, you know, flutes and Shane. All those guys that went through all that process with me to get me here.

Oh, that's sweet. Took this man four minutes to say both of those things. Because he had some thoughts. Next time, keep your thoughts to yourself. He's getting paid enough money. Keep your thoughts to yourself. But I get it. And I think everybody would.

I think these thoughts were natural to have. Cade McCown, McNown, excuse me, Rex Grossman. I don't care if he took them to a Super Bowl.

That's just one of the most shocking things of it. That's one of the greatest defenses that we've ever seen in the NFL. Rex Grossman and the Super Bowl.

I still can't believe Rex Grossman was in a Super Bowl. Not in the modern era. Not not. Well, one that long.

Well, it kind of was. But not in twenty twenty five. You need a quarterback. Angels going out there winning with a defense and a crap quarterback.

This good as me. Sorry. Rex Grossman. Kyle Orton.

No. Jake Cutler failed quarterback. Seemingly failed at a lot of things in life. I'm sure he's smoking a cigarette somewhere right now. Mike Glennon.

Mitch Trubisky. At least you could say he was a pro bowler with the Chicago Bears. And so I can't blame this man for his thoughts. Even said that he didn't even get a film review.

With the last regime. That's why Ibra Flus is not the head coach of the Chicago Bears anymore. We found out that guy was a bum when he blew a game on was it Thanksgiving. What a bum that guy was. Hey, good luck to Caleb Williams.

His thoughts are now done. And he loves it in Chicago. Ben Johnson. That's a great coach, too. But I know I can just tell by the way that man communicates. He's going to be a good coach. I mean, we've seen the results that the offense had out in Detroit.

And after hearing him speak as the head coach, I got more faith in him than Nick Suriani when Nick Suriani started talking. Let's just go ahead and put it that way. And good luck to Caleb Williams. Just him and his dad. I think maybe they should just stop the books. Sometimes you just need to keep your thoughts to yourself.

Sometimes you need to keep your thoughts to the confines of your own home. And let's be real. Before Caleb Williams was drafted coming out of USC, there were a lot of conversations about how influential his family was. You know, how tight he was with his family. Ain't nothing wrong with crying. Nothing wrong with a man crying.

This man lost a football game, was crying at mommy's shoulders. Like, come on, man. Not not now.

Save it for later. Not now. A lot of instances where Caleb Williams was kind of huffing and puffing after some losses. Oh, we lost to Washington State.

Boo hoo. He hasn't done that in the NFL so far. Good for him.

It hasn't followed him that way. But I didn't forget. And so maybe next time both he and his dad will just kind of keep things keep things to themselves.

I'm speaking of keeping things to themselves. Congratulations. Last night, the John Halliburton, the dad of Tyrese Halliburton, they let this man back into the building yesterday. He saw his son put up a triple double, the likes that we've never seen in NBA history, with zero turnovers. And John Halliburton was in the building, standing around and watching in his suite, clapping his hands. And he could thank Charles Barkley for leading the charge and allowing him to return. The NBA said, what the hell?

Just show up, shut up and stay upstairs. And Tyrese Halliburton even talked about just having his dad back in the building. He's like, my dad, he came back to a basketball game.

He didn't come out of prison. Listen to this. There was obviously a lot of commentary around him, especially right after, which I think some was warranted, some went a little too far. But I mean, that's just sports. That's just sports.

And that's just talking heads. You know, what can what can you really do? But I don't think there's really any emotion to it. I just want to put on a good performance.

You know, I wanted to win the game. You know, obviously, my dad being here is special. Yeah, of course. Well, maybe maybe we wouldn't have talking heads. Maybe people wouldn't be talking if your dad also never said anything.

How about that? Like, it's very simple. You learn this all the time. Don't feed the trolls. Like, don't give people something to talk about. Like John Halliburton did. Exactly that. This is exactly what he did.

Don't feed the trolls. Hopefully his dad doesn't conduct another interview. I want to save for the rest of the season, I guess. I hope. I don't think the Indiana Pacers are going to have a parade.

I put it that way. So I think that might be the next time we hear him this year. If they have a parade, this man is going to be front and center. Hey, Chris, if the Pacers end up winning the championship, they may have to give John Halliburton his own float.

He might he might need something of the sort. Maybe like the Pat McAfee show has a bit planned where they'll they'll have him like, you know, I don't know, maybe something something like decked out and pacer gear and like a navy blue and maize gold throne or something. You said a throne?

They're going to put this guy on the throne? I mean, if they win the championship, everyone, you know, everyone's a champion at that point. Everyone gets a ring. Everyone with the organization, social media department gets a ring.

He was a story line. Why not? Yeah.

Forget a ring. It's Indianapolis. They put this guy in a race car.

God only knows. We know the Pacers won in the ABA. They have yet to win an NBA championship. If the Pacers, you know, now that I think about it, if the Indiana Pacers ever won a championship, I assume one day they will. It doesn't have to be with Halliburton there. Their parade would probably be one of the most unique parades that we would have in sports. Given their history and the Indianapolis 500, we'd see race cars, we'd see cups and we'd see rally stripes. I just don't think that's going to happen this year. Maybe the Halliburton family. How about a lot of sports families? Here's some advice.

Don't don't feed the trolls. Hey, sons and daughters, tell your parents to be quiet, OK? We see these crazy ass parents at the AAU games and the peewee football games.

Parents, get it together, please. The J.R. Sportbreeze show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. When we come back, I'm going to check the phone lines. We're going to talk about the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Minnesota Timberwolves. J.R. Sportbreeze Show. Don't move.
