The law of God defines sin, destroys self-righteousness, declares the deception of sin, and delineates a holy standard. Sin deceives regarding satisfaction, safety, secrecy, shame, and security, leading to a life of rebellion against God's law. The law is a revelation of God's character, and to abandon it means to abandon God. Ultimately, the law demands redemption by the Savior, Jesus Christ, who can redeem us from our corruption and make us children of God through faith in Him.
