God gives believers the opportunity to intercede on behalf of others, and those who do so must be willing to abandon self-interest, be sensitive to the needs of others, and have authority with God through living a holy life. Intercessors must also be dressed in the armor of God, including faith, truth, and the word of God, and be accountable to God for their prayers. Effective intercession requires a willingness to bear the hurts and cry the tears of others, and to agonize before God on their behalf.
