Welcome back to the show for Caregivers About Caregivers, hosted by a caregiver. This is Peter Rosenberger bringing you three decades of experience to help you stay strong and healthy as you take care of someone who is not. And we're glad you're with us.

800-688-9522, 800-688-892. Hey John, let's go right to our today's senior moment. All right. Today's senior moment brought to you by MorningPoint and morningpoint.com and that's point with an E. Okay, morningpoint.com. Now, John, it's April. So it is. And do you know what happens in education institutions all across the Fruited Plains starting next month?

Oh, I was thinking this month and if that was the question, then the answer is really great April Fool's Day jokes. No. Oh, okay. Commencement.

So it does. Lots of baccalaureates. Now, what happens in June?

Father's Day? A lot of weddings. A lot of weddings, yes. A lot of weddings. Now, there are a lot of caregivers out there that want to go to those things and they can't always go because they are landlocked.

One of the three eyes that caregivers have is they lose their independence because who are they going to trust to take care of? If they're going to a family event, guess what? The whole family's already there. There's nobody else to call.

Somebody's got to stay behind. So I've got Lori Domer on the phone from MorningPoint and she's got a real no kidding solution. Lori?

Yes? How you feeling? I'm great. How are you?

Oh, I'm just precious. I love what you guys are doing here because you're stepping into a great need for folks who are not ready to make some kind of big long-term commitment, but they have options because we've got to have some help with somebody that needs very special care. Talk about this program that you guys have at MorningPoint. MorningPoint in our assisted living and in our memory care, we're offering less spit care, which means if you do have to travel for those commencement ceremonies or weddings or you just caregivers just need a break from burnout to recharge, we offer respite, which means you can bring your loved one to us and we will take care of their needs, their medications, their food, their showers, everything that they need. You can trust that our staff will work with them. So if you get special dietary needs, medical needs, so you want to make sure the prescriptions get all properly dispensed, you guys are on that. You don't have to find somebody to come in and stay with your loved one. You can go to a train place where they have all kinds of equipment there on site.

They have everybody there. This is an amazing program and there's no long-term commitment. You can do this for one night. You can do this for 10 nights. You can do it for 30 nights, right? Absolutely.

Absolutely. Now you don't just drop them off, by the way. There is one little thing you have to do prior to that. Do you have to meet with a nurse? Yeah, you have to meet with the nurse. We do an assessment. We get all of their paperwork for their medications straight from their doctor so that we can dispense everything as written. The only other thing that we have to have is a chest x-ray that's good for a year for a TB test or a TB test, the old fashioned one right under the skin that is good for 30 days. Well, and if you've got these things coming up in May in June or whatever, family vacation, who knows, whatever things that you're wanting to participate in, but you can't because you've got a loved one that you just don't feel comfortable just leaving with just anybody.

And if all the family is going to be in one place, there's not a family member to call, guess what? Now you have something with morning point, but you got to start now. You've got to sit down for about 45 minutes with the nurse and go through an assessment. And then once you've done that, you're in the system and you can do this repeatedly, correct, Lori? Absolutely.

I mean, this is, this is, you're in the system now. So this is a, and it, and by the way, it's less expensive than most hotels. Absolutely. Especially because it's an all inclusive pricing. We charge a flat rate in our assisted living and a flat rate in our memory care. And that's meals? That's meals. That's everything. That's care.

That's medication management. That's a furnished room with, you know, you've got your cable, you've got everything that all the comforts of home. And, and, and they don't, you don't have to worry about them having a bath or something like that, where they're a fall, if they're a fall risk, there's somebody there to help them.

This is not, you're not bringing somebody to your home that you're wondering, can they handle this? And they're going to be there 24 seven. You've got, you're taken to a, I mean, this, these facilities are amazingly beautiful. And this is, this is not some kind of, you know, dump somewhere. I mean, this is a, this is almost spa hotel level here.

It actually, I think it is because you have more activities, great food. I've talked to a lot of the chefs out there. They do a lot of, um, brain food that they have. They really work in the diet. They have, um, uh, farm to table, uh, in all of your morning point facilities.

And there's like 30 something of art, but every one of them have a farm, local farm to table stuff that they do with, get as much of their produce and things from local farms. It is an amazing thing. Why aren't you taking advantage of this? If you have an event coming up, if you've got a family reunion this summer, you want to go to, but you don't feel like you can because you leave them no more excuses. Now, Laurie, what's the best number to call? The best number to call is my cell phone. It is 6 1 5 4 8 2 8 6 4 3. All right. One more time.

6 1 5 4 8 2 8 6 4 3. And I'm going to put this out on the website and I'm going to put this out on our podcast. This is the best deal in town, folks.

A real life answer. We actually have people making reservations to stay with us like in May and in June. So it's very important if you get. Do not wait.

Do not wait. Laurie, thank you for taking the time to call in folks. This is, this is it. This is, this is a solution.

Okay. This is real help. And it is a phone call away. We'll put this out on the website and in the podcast as well. Hey, there's more to come. This is hope for the caregiver. We are so glad you're with us. 800-688-9522. We'll be right back.
