That's right. It is the Zach Gelb show on the Infinity Sports Network. So Terry-on-Arnold ended up getting drafted at Alabama by the Detroit Lions.
I saw him do an interview today that's on social media. And when he's doing this interview on social media, he reveals that the Raiders, I guess Antonio, he just had a Raiders coach, told his agent that when the Raiders were picking at 13 that they flipped a coin. And I don't know if it was heads or tails, but let's just say like if it was heads it would be Brock Bowers and if it was tails it would be Terry-on-Arnold. And obviously it landed on, in this case, in the scenario of throwing out their heads because it was Brock Bowers.
So I see this story and I'm like, I wonder if that's what they just told him. Like that can't be real, but there's one of a few franchises where you tell me they're 50-50 between a player so they're just going to flip a coin and throw a coin up in the air. Yeah, the Raiders are on that list of one of those teams that it could be. So Stu, now knowing that your team was 50-50 interested in Terry-on-Arnold and you could have had a new defensive back, would you have rather had him or Brock Bowers? I'd rather have Bowers.
I think Bowers is the best player on the board. I don't think they necessarily needed a corner. It wasn't like, oh my god, they need a corner, like they need a quarterback or offensive lineman. But it's just Raiders. Now let's not bury the lead here. It's just so Raiders.
I set that up in an ice way. Who would you rather have? Brock Bowers or Terry-on-Arnold? But when you hear your front office and your head football coach, someone's flipping a coin. Mark Davis is allowing them to flip a coin to decide who's going to be the 13th overall draft pick.
The Stu reaction is what? It just, it doesn't matter who the coach is, it doesn't matter who the GM is, it's the same bleep every year. This is what I've dealt with for 20 years, just with a different coach, a different person. It doesn't matter. It's just, it's a joke. I'm not even, I mean I'm mad, but I'm not even surprised anymore. This is just what you get from the Raiders consistently. You know what's going to happen now. Terry-on-Arnold is going to be the next, one of the greatest defensive backs of all time. Brock Bowers is going to have a career that is just filled with injuries and disappointment, and we're going to get. What if I told you the Las Vegas Raiders could have had one of the greatest defensive backs ever, but a coin flip led to them selecting the decimated version of Brock Bowers, the coin flip.
ESPN's 30 for 30 presents the coin flip featuring the Las Vegas Raiders. You know that's going to happen. Brock Bowers is now going to be a bum. He is going to be a bust. He is going to be terrible just because this is what happens to the Raiders.
A flip of a coin. Like Brock Bowers, all things considered, supposed to be a stud. That dude had one of the greatest college careers you've ever seen from a tight end.
But how they go through a, see that's the crazy part to me. You go through a scouting process and everyone has their opinions. Whoever's running point, right, you would think it's Tom Telesco, right? He's the guy that gets the end of the day decision, the new general manager. How do you get to a point where you got to flip a coin?
You're that undecided, you're that split, that that's how you determine the decision. Like, could you imagine here if we had an idea at the Infinity Sports Network, like, let's say, for example, there's a new job that's opened up as David Shepherd is leaving the Bart Winkler show and he's just going to do the weekend overnights. And if you missed that announcement, Monday, 1 a.m. Eastern Time, Shep gave like the greatest goodbye you've ever heard on the radio for a guy that's staying with the network and is just going from a producer to a host. But you, like Shep did, and I'm not kidding, an 18 minute segment thanking every, I got thanked, DA got thanked, John Kincaid got thanked, shake it up, Scottie Ferrell, he obviously got thanked, Bart, JR, David Maranick, Spike Eskin, our new boss who's been there for like three minutes, Ryan Hurley got thanked.
If you know Shep, you got thanked. In this 18 minute goodbye, like when Miraz left the DA show, he was together basically as a co-host with DA for 10 years. He was leaving the network. Miraz had a tearful goodbye, okay, I could live with that. Shep gave the most serious goodbye, and it was heartfelt.
Like I'll say it was moving, but 18 minutes to just say you're staying with the network but just going to a different time slot for something that is beneficial to your career is a lot, a lot of time. But anyway, could you imagine him trying to give a speech to the Laker locker room, 25 minutes, three minutes into that speech, the guys are on their phones, going to the bathroom, playing on their computers. I know how Shep would beat Mike Tyson. He would talk him to death. He would talk him to submission.
Ouch. He would just sit there, hey champ, how you doing champ? Alrighty, you know, I'm going to thank you for just getting in the ring with me and participating, you know, putting the boxing gloves on against me.
Like, he would knock Mike Tyson out just because Tyson would punch himself and go, I'm not listening to him anymore. 18 minutes, 18 minutes saying goodbye. And it was, it was like heartfelt, like I'm not saying it was like horrible, it was just very long. It was like too dramatic, it made me a little bit uncomfortable how dramatic it would be. But you're right, Shep in a huddle with LeBron, you would need more than just a minute time out.
You would need a lot more than that. But could you imagine, you know, who's ever applying to fill the Shep position to be the producer of the Bart Winkler show? Could you imagine if our bosses like David Maranick, Ryan Hurley, Jeff Sotolano, Chris Olivero, I'm just throwing out two names.
Like, let's just say they were between Pat Boyle and Carlos Ortiz. Could you imagine if they go, we can't make the decision. Let me get a coin. Heads or tails? You know, hold on. Say something for a second, guys. I see a coin just right over there. Just, I don't want the dead air on the radio. Oh my god, it's just unbelievable. Raiders.
You guys can say whatever you want. Are you singing right now? I don't even know what you said, my headphones are now.
I feel like we need Antonio Pierce and Josh McDaniels to come over here. They can flip the coin together. All right. Heads or tails? Heads is Pat Boyle. Tails is Carlos Ortiz. Stu, let's see what it is.
It's heads. Like, that's how the Raiders really. Alrighty, we got Brock Bowers. We got Terrion Arnold. Heads for Brock Bowers.
Alrighty, it's heads. Boom. I can't believe that's how the Raiders actually approached this. That's my football team, Zach. That's it right there. You guys are screwed.
Like, even when you finally have positive momentum. People like Antonio Pierce. People like the way that that team competed at the end of the season.
You know, you've guarded Minshew's fine, but he's not your franchise quarterback. We're deciding first round draft picks. First round draft picks over a coin flip. You don't have an organization that has the cajones to make a decision.
Based off their evaluation, we got to base it off a coin flip. Like, I'm sorry, Stu. That's that's just disgraceful. It is absolutely disgraceful. Like, that story. That can't be.
I know it's the Raiders. That cannot be true. Also, let's let's say it is true and it's bad enough that they do it. The fact that they told him that that's what happened and that's what they did is even dumber. Why would you divulge to anybody? It's a phenomenal point. I think there's like things that we have all done in life that we are embarrassed about to then tell the person involved with it.
And then he broadcast it for all of us to hear. Just shows you. You could take Josh McDaniel's out of the Raiders. You could get rid of some of these disgraceful people that they have employed. But there's still the damn Raiders at the end of the day. Santa, that's your buddy. That's your guy, Mark Davis, friend of Santa.
That's the organization he's running. You know, next time we see Mark Davis, next time we go to Las Vegas. I'm taking a coin with me and I'm hoping we run into Mark Davis. And if I see Mark, I'm just going to go up to him and flip that coin up in the air, catch it, put it on my hand and go, oh, that's how your dumb organization decided to draft Brock Bowers, which is a fine pick. Nothing against the pick.
But what's next? Alrighty. Is it Luke Getze, right?
He's the offensive coordinator of the Raiders? Sure is. All right. Are we going to run or pass the football here? I'm not sure what we're going to do. All right. Let's flip it up.
It's heads. We're going to run the football here. Are we going to decide to blitz here?
Antonio Pierce, but you can't make it. We got blitz or we're going to go prevent. Oh, we're going to blitz. Yeah, if it lands on tails.
All right. We're blitzing. Mike, what? That's what the Raiders are doing. I know it's the Raiders still. That's that story cannot be true. Maybe they just told Terry on Arnold because there was a scout that really liked them or an assistant coach that he hit her off with. Maybe he just wanted him to feel better. But if that is true, whoever flipped that coin.
And it was ever the part of that decision making process deserves to be fired. And our boss, David Maranick, just ran up to the to the door and he had a coin out and he put the coin up into the air. You know, maybe David's going to be Tom Telesco in a few weeks. That maybe that's how we're going to decide who gets the two to produce for for Bart Winkler. I kind of like this strategy now.
We have a full time opening here at the network. We're just going to flip a coin. We're going to be like a raider. You know, Notre Dame play like a champion today.
You just slap the sign. Flip a coin today like the Raiders. I can't believe that. That's the that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I know sometimes you say that in hyperbole. That's a hyperbole.
You're making a damn decision off a coin flip. You know, it probably irritates them. You know, it definitely irritates Hickey. Because Hickey was like lead in the charge.
Hickey. He digs his heels in so deep when he falls in love with the player that even though it doesn't logically make sense that a player could fall to someone. And I didn't think Brock Bauer is going to fall past, you know, like really 11 or 12.
I know he ended up going 13, but not to the Colts at 14 or 15, wherever the Colts were. And Hickey digs his heels in so deep until he's proven to be wrong. Yep. I just went to Hickey's Twitter. He's seen this video. He's quote tweeted it. Here's the Hickey tweet.
You've got to be bleeping me. The Colts could have drafted Brock Bowers if a coin landed on heads instead of tails. Fire whoever flipped that coin. And he tagged the Raiders. That's an all-timer.
Really is an all-timer. Alrighty, Joe Burrow back on a practice field on Monday. Does anyone disagree that as long as Joe Burrow is healthy?
And that's a big if. Because Joe Burrow, four seasons. Two of them has made the AFC title game. And in one of those two seasons, he advanced to a Super Bowl.
The other two, he has had season-ending injuries. Is anyone going to throw another team out there? When we talk about chasing the Chiefs and trying to put a dent in this Chiefs dynasty.
Is anyone going to argue? Does anyone want to throw out another team that they have more confidence in? A confidence in that the Bengals aren't the team that gives us the best chance to derail or try to just prevent Kansas City from winning like 10 championships? Samter, I'll start you off since you are somewhat of a Chiefs fan. Well, first of all, yeah, nobody can knock off the Chiefs.
But the Bengals might still be the best. But I think that the gap, if there is even a gap between them and the second team, has significantly shrunk. I'm less confident in the Bengals now than I was a year ago, two years ago. They've lost some pieces. They've gotten older. They've had a lot of injuries. It just feels like the Bengals are on paper.
They're still there. But it just feels like they've kind of taken a few steps backwards. I haven't seen them improve. The Ravens I still have faith in. Wait, you have more faith in the Ravens than the Bengals? I think the Ravens are a better team. I just don't trust them in the playoffs. I just don't trust them in the playoffs. The Bills have taken a step back. The Texans I might trust more. On the rise.
Say it again. On the rise. So I don't know if anyone has caught the Bengals per se. But I have significantly less faith in the Bengals to overtake the Chiefs now than I did last year or even two years ago.
So who's your answer? I'm gonna say the Bengals, but hesitantly. Now take the Bengals out of it, let's just say.
Let's say Burrow gets hurt again. Who's the team that you trust the most? It's weird to say, but I think it's gonna be the Texans.
Okay. Either the Texans or the Ravens. Doesn't have to be the AFC by the way.
Oh. I'm just saying, it doesn't have to be the AFC. It's just team and football. Oh, then the 49ers 100%. Yeah, absolutely the 49ers. Even though the 49ers have choked two games away up against the Chiefs. At the end of the day, the 49ers for the most part were the better team for most of those games and then they just choked it away. I have faith that the 49ers, they're just good enough and they haven't lost anybody. If anything, they're gaining pieces. I think the 49ers are still the team.
Still? Way more so than the Bengals. For me, it's the Texans. I think they have the best chance. They're up and coming. The quarterback's only gonna get better.
The roster around him is only gonna get better. I think that's the team. I would still go Bengals, but take them out of the equation. I think it's the Texans. I think it's the Bengals because the Bengals have been the only team that have shown us they can defeat Kansas City. So to me, it's still the Bengals, even with the thought that T. Higgins could get traded at some point this offseason. Trey Hendrickson wants to demand the trade as well. Doesn't mean that you actually have to trade him with two years left in the contract.
Burrow, even though they haven't got the job done yet, his window is far from being slammed shut. Because when healthy, we've seen this guy at one point beat the Chiefs three straight times in a row. So he's the second best quarterback in football. The Bengals are the second team that I trust the most in football after the Kansas City Chiefs. If you talk about getting into the postseason. If I took the Bengals out of it and I just went with the AFC, I would say it's the Texans.
I think Buffalo is right there still as well as they try to redefine themselves. And I think Keon Coleman is going to be a stud and I like James Cook and I like Dalton Kincaid. And just like Cincinnati, you still have the quarterback in Josh Allen. But I would give the slight edge to the Texans because I believe CJ shroud will be an elite quarterback and continue to be an elite quarterback in the NFL. The NFC is a fun one, though. The reason why the NFC is a fun one, because I know it's not a two man race because the Lions are a team that could easily get to a Super Bowl this year. The Eagles are going to, I think, bounce back this year. And the 49ers, I just wonder how many years can they keep on having these great runs before it catches up to them?
That's a concern that I have. But like right now, those are the only three teams in the NFC I could see get into the Super Bowl. Lions, Niners and the Eagles. I'll agree with Santa.
I don't like doing that, but I'll agree with Santa. I would take the 49ers in the NFC right now. You don't think the Packers ever shot the Super Bowl? I think the Packers are on the rise. I just like Stroud was so great in year one with the Texans.
Love had some good moments at the end of the season, a little bit of a bumpy start. I just want to see some consistency, especially with that division starting to get really good. Bears with Caleb Williams. The Vikings, I think, got the right fit for them at quarterback in J.J. McCarthy.
That division right now, from top to bottom, is really, really good. And hey, I'm not doubting the Packers. I just want to see if the Packers can replicate what they did a year ago. Do you remember early in the season when we had Kevin Harlan on, big Packer fan? And he was like, we're just not sure if Jordan Love is the guy.
And man, did Jordan Love just skyrocket from that point. Took that personally. Yeah, he definitely took that personally.
You are right. Friend to the show, Kevin Harlan under the bus. But at the time, he wasn't wrong. At the time, he wasn't wrong. We hadn't seen enough from Jordan Love. And then Jordan Love just exploded, and that was it. Alrighty, this is Zach Gelb showing the Infinity Sports Network. When we come on back, one former, I guess he's a former NBA player now, says that NBA players, there's about 30 of them that could play in the NFL.

I got invited by a buddy of mine who has great season tickets. He is one row behind the Knicks bench. So very happy that he's taken me to the game tonight. I told Anthony Gallo this because he's a big Knicks fan who works here. And he told Kap right away, Andrew Kaplan. And Kaplan texted me and saying, you sitting one row behind the Knicks bench sounds amazing. There's a lot of things that I could probably do with that from a social media perspective. So maybe it's going to be like a Where's Gelbo tonight, kind of a Where's Waldo situation.
If you see me on the television tonight, let me know how I'm looking. We already had that when we were asking Travis Kelsey questions during Super Bowl media night. Oh, that is true.
You're right. We ended up on the back page of the New York Post. You see Gelbin Santer. Well, it was much harder to find me because you at least stand out. A little bit shorter than me. When are you changing your Twitter name, by the way? Never.
Never? It's Big Mike CBS? Yeah.
Even though we're now Infinity? I was Big Mike CBS before I even joined CBS Sports Radio. So it has nothing to do with CBS.
No, as I told you, it can't block shots. There you go. So there's something else to this. Is what you're saying has nothing to do is nothing to do with CBS? Has nothing to do with CBS.
We got to investigate this. So when I started working for CBS, it was kind of a boon for me. It kind of just worked.
It worked. OK. Well, good for you then. Well, maybe bad for you. Is this like an inside joke with you and your buddies that we're just not made aware of? We're not privy of? It may or may not be. OK. Do people, let me just ask one more question and then I'll get to the phones.
855-212-4227, 10 in Illinois, get to you in a second. Do the people that you used to work with in Arizona know the story behind this? A couple might.
Jon Gambadore know the story to this? Doubtful. OK.
Anyone that I met when we were in Arizona know the story to this? No. OK. Don't think so. Not even that, uh, that gal that you sold the house to that your friends are used to? Oh, no, she would know. Oh, she would know.
Yeah, yeah, she would know. What's her name again? Melissa. Melissa.
Yeah. So I have to contact Melissa to get Melissa's digits from you and ask her this story? I mean, you should have gotten the digits while we were out in Arizona.
855-212-4227. Let's go to Ted in Illinois. He's next up on the Zach Gelb show.
Ted, what's shaking? Not much. What are you guys doing? Just hosting a radio show here until six. Appreciate it.
Appreciate it. Hey, guys, don't sleep on the Rams. And I'm not saying they're going to make the Super Bowl. What I am going to say is we made some nice choices in the draft.
Yeah. We've got a tandem of running backs now. We've got an offensive line that's shaping up. We brought back Williams. We added White to our secondary.
And the guy from Washington, forgive me, I can't remember his name. He's a stud too. I know we lost Aaron Donald, but, uh, Kobe Turner's up and coming. We added some nice other pieces to that defensive line.
Yeah, Verst and Fisk. I thought that was a tremendous draft that you guys had getting the Florida State connection with Javad Verst and Braden Fisk. Don't forget how good Matthew Stafford was in that Super Bowl run three or four years ago. He's the best quarterback right now in the NFC. In the last three games, the Super Bowl, he beat Tom Brady and the 49ers. We hadn't beat the 49ers in forever. Matthew Stafford's a stud and everyone forgets about him. I'll shut up and let you guys do the talking.
No, I appreciate it, Ted. That's the only thing. I probably would have picked the Rams to go to the Super Bowl this year, right? Because everyone is like, it feels like when you're picking a Super Bowl this year, most people are probably going to take, I would say in the AFC, one of three teams. The Chiefs, the Bengals, and I guess the sexy fun one would be the Texans. In the NFC, I think it's only going to be three teams. It's going to be a lot of people taking the 49ers, a lot of people taking the Eagles, a lot of people taking the Lions. Like the fun four team before the Donald injury, maybe, you know, the Donald retirement, I probably would have taken the Rams.
I probably would have. But once Donald retires, it's just like, I'm out of the Rams. The Rams should still be a double digit win team. They should be the second best team in the NFC West. Is it inconceivable for them to win the division?
No, it's not. I would still take the 49ers. But that's just, with losing Donald, it makes me just say, okay, I got to just take a step back. But Stafford, I agree, right? He's the quarterback of the NFC that I trust the most heading into this season. And I like their draft, getting Blake Coram, Braden Fisk, and also drafting Jared Verse in the first round as well. Okay, let's get to Austin Rivers. He was on the Pat McAfee show and he was talking about NBA players in the NFL. Where the best athletes in the world are.
That's us. I can take 30 players right now in the NBA and throw them in the NFL. You cannot take 30 NFL players and put them in the NBA. Five on the court.
Let's just, let's all relax. You're going to break every play. I got to just catch the ball and run north or south. Our sport's better. The NFL is better than the NBA. I think if you tried to transition someone from the NFL to the NBA or the NBA to the NFL.
I do think it's easier to go from the NBA to the NFL rather than the NFL to the NBA. I don't know if there's 30 players right now in the have a lot of success in the NFL. But the two players that I thought of right away. Would be Anthony Edwards. And then I think this guy would be a good slot receiver. But like he would be listed as a tight end. And you would just put him in the slot how they use a lot of times of the tight ends. Because they don't think his blocking would be good. But LeBron James.
Now you put LeBron James. Not have him block a lot. Now he gets hit. He may be out for a season. Or at least be flopping.
And be doing a lot of crying. But those are the two players that I thought of right now. Anthony Edwards. And I know it may be a little bit past his time. But LeBron James.
And LeBron was a great football player until he went full time with basketball. Stu. Samter. You guys got some names. NBA players that if like we could say they go play in the NFL for a few months. You would like to see it happen.
Yeah I got a couple. This is a guy who I don't really like as an NBA player. But he's great on the court. And I think he'd be really good as a DB or a wide receiver. Kyrie Irving. He's so shifty and so quick. Laterally.
Back and forth. I think Kyrie would be great as a slot receiver or like a corner. And then you talk about LeBron as a tight end.
What about Zion? As a tight end. A defensive end. More like a left tackle honestly. Maybe even a left tackle honestly. Zion maybe if he's beefed up or if he's slimmed down. Gets hurt too much though. Yeah.
I mean listen maybe a little bit of NFL nutritional training will get him a little bit more beefed up and healthy. I don't want to steal Stu's name so I won't in case this is his name. But Stu do you have a name or two?
I have one. He's only six foot two but I think that with his speed and his jumping ability he could be either a cornerback or wide receiver. And that's John Moran. I think he would be a great playmaker in the NFL.
Yeah. I could see more of a of a cornerback. And six two for a corner is pretty damn big for an NFL cornerback.
Could see more cornerback. When you said Kyrie I didn't I could not see Kyrie playing in the NFL. Russell Westbrook I can though. I could see Russell Westbrook remember how Jabril Peppers was at Michigan and I know I know he ended up getting drafted to be defensive player but he did play on the offensive side of the ball. I could see that being like a Russell Westbrook where he'd be a defensive back we could play both ways and then you could just goal line situations just handed off to him.
But man the one that I'm laughing the most about just when you like when you go through this design Williamson really I could see him being a tackle. Yeah. Yeah.
For sure. Now there's another name that you wouldn't think of. Jalen Suggs was a three to four star recruit depending on what site you go to as a dual threat quarterback got offers from Georgia Ohio State Iowa Michigan State Nebraska and others as a dual threat quarterback ranked as a top 350 player in college in high school football. Victor Wambunyama. I know everyone's going to say no right away and you're going to say oh his body's too fragile all that just to stand right in front of the field goalpost and as the ball is coming down he goes to Kembe Mutombo no no no and wags the finger. Can you do that. I don't know. Can a player stand back because we've seen guys like Chris Davis in the kick six return a missed field goal for a touchdown. Can a player jump up and try to reject it. I don't know. But that would try it.
You can at least make them out like outlaw or make that a rule that you can't if it's not. Two tweets here right before we get to Bart Winkler. Ross Matlock says if Brock Bowers ends up being great then a quarter has made more good decisions for the Raiders than Mark Davis. That's a pretty damn good line there.
And also what was the other thing that I wanted to get to. Oh. Largent asked me Zach are you going to go after Reggie Miller tonight. No like basketball. I grew up as a Jason Kidd fan and then Jason Kidd left the Nets as a coach and I was like oh I'm so over the Nets and the NBA product hasn't been great. I enjoy going to games and watching basketball especially during the playoffs. I've enjoyed this Knicks team just because I know Leon Rose and his family. So yeah I'll root for the Knicks over the Pacers tonight but it's not like I'm going to be miserable if the Knicks end up losing the game and if I see Reggie Miller I'm not going to be like hey Reggie welcome back to the garden you a-hole. Like no I'm just not going to do that.
So Bart Winkler will join us on the other side for Winkler Wednesday let's get the latest Infinity Sports Network update in with the Ackman Rich Ackerman. for the infinity sports network sack lethargic putrid pathetic quitters they're quitters what a joke Bart something fun to talk about that's that's what we do here it's like hey guys it's like we're just hanging out at a bar talking sports it's time for Winkler Wednesday only on the sack Gelb show man it's time to answer ask the pros question of the day brought to you by O'Reilly Auto Parts you can submit a question by tweeting at INF Sportsnet or at Zack Gelb using the hashtag ask the pros think O'Reilly Auto Parts for all your car care needs get guaranteed low prices and excellent customer service from the professional parts people at O'Reilly Auto Parts we will get to our question in just a second because I am going to ask it to Bart Winkler who joins us right now for some Winkler Wednesdays Bart how are you I get to be a pro you're always a pro you're a consummate professional that's what they tell me around here who has been more impressive this postseason so far is it Jaylen Brunson or is it Anthony Edwards well that's a good one I think it's very close I would say Anthony Edwards I think that Jaylen Brunson we are seeing what we've seen throughout the season with him I think that Anthony Edwards has risen his stock quite a bit in the playoffs and we were talking a couple weeks ago about who's the face of the NBA in five years you know who's it going to be and Anthony Edwards is kind of like oh okay I'll just become the face of the NBA now I'll just become the face of the playoffs now and so very good question impressed by both I think Brunson there was more of a lead up to this but Edwards it was more of like all right I'm gonna I'm gonna be who I am now and you're seeing that with the Timberwolves who still have yet to lose in this postseason my Timberwolves look at Bart leading leading the charge on the Minnesota Timberwolves I do agree with you that it is Anthony Edwards it's something that Jaylen Brunson hasn't done you know when he has dropped two hundred and ten points in his last five games and that's the most over a five game span in the playoffs since Michael Jordan did so in 1993 like you don't need to say anything else but it's more so what the Timberwolves are doing up against their competition because I even though I picked the Nuggets to go to the NBA Finals and win it once again like I knew the Timberwolves weren't gonna be afraid of this moment I knew they were gonna give the Nuggets a heck of a run for them to fully take charge of this series and be up 2-0 and it feels like this series is over that's why I gotta say Edwards has been more impressive because he has led that mentality in that charge with the Timberwolves well and this is the case too where neither team would trade their guy for the other guy you know so it's we're talking about two of the greatest that are playing right now especially in these playoffs specifically with the Timberwolves what impresses me so much about their run so far is not only what they did to Phoenix but going into Denver which is maybe the hardest place to play the fans are great but the altitude is a real thing and they were able to almost look like they were the home team I know when you are the defending champs you know you become more of the hunted but the Nuggets it just seemed like they were UConn like they were inevitable it didn't matter their talent was gonna overcome everybody and the Minnesota Timberwolves more hungry taking it to them making the Koliokic like what is he gonna get the MVP here in an hour and a half or something yeah that's going to be spoiled a little bit because of how bad the Timberwolves have made him look especially defensively so there's gonna be more conversation I'm gonna talk about it tonight like okay what are we really doing with this guy because this is a guy who has looked human because of what the Timberwolves did to him and so now you're going this part do you think that's just a problem with what we do like this guy is gonna win three MVPs by the end of tonight he already has an NBA championship he already has a finals MVP like you've dealt with this with Giannis also it's like Giannis was questioned Giannis came through and now since the Bucks haven't been able to replicate it it's like oh how great is Giannis or how great is the Koliokic those are still the two best players in the NBA I'm not like Anthony Edwards gonna be the face of the NBA moving forward but I would still say Nicole Jokic and Giannis on to the Kumpo pound for pound of the two best players in the NBA there's no reason why any and and without the backlash last year to get him three times in a row like Nicole Jokic is one of the best players in the league he should not have been the MVP three of the last four seasons why I don't think that he should there's too many other guys in that category for Giannis not to get one in the last four years is ridiculous Luca's my MVP this year and then what do we not care about and I know I just said Luca but do we not care about defense all we do is look at these stats and look at these net ratings and all these other things that nerds invented to make themselves feel good about voting for Jokic all this time Jokic never this guy never plays with his second unit they only playing with the starters they fabricated stats for dumb arguments like this I don't get Nicole Jokic you don't actually he's very good no no this is I I I live in this territory where the territory is something is good or something is bad okay but we always make it seem like it's the most bad or the most good Nicole Jokic is so good dude there's things he does that you can't no one can just call them a stat pad or a second ago the nuggets our staff padding him oh stop it she is so good he is not three MVP in four years good though why not because there's too many other guys but he's the one guy that up until up until game two he was the one guy that's unstoppable unstoppable everyone would agree that but but unless unless I just take like a week off of knowing things there was there was this is how the MVP race went this year oh it should be Nicole Jokic because it just should be okay then for a month Stephen A. Smith is like Tatum's the best player on the best team and we're all like oh yes King Stephen it's it's Tatum and then and then he sucks when it when when we anoint him Tatum's like nah fam choked a big lead you know I had two of those games yeah and then everyone's like oh well Luca and SGA and even Yanis have the same compelling arguments and then everyone goes let's just give it to Jokic we're already going to anyway I don't think they're just giving it to Jokic it's no one really significantly separated themselves so when you're the most consistently great player in the NBA in a year where no one really took it by you know took the baton and ran away with it that's how he's going to win it like if I was voting and I don't have a vote my vote would have been between SGA and Jalen Brunson if you're going to go by the definition of most valuable to their team which a lot of people don't do I would have gone with Shea Gilges Alexander or Jalen Brunson or Luca or Yanis I don't know Yanis did you just say or Yanis I just keep trying to slip Yanis in here we know what you get married is he really are you invited to the wedding going to the wedding yeah are you invited to the wedding no that's a disgrace well well well I did not check my mail yet today oh okay I would not hold your breath if you hold your breath we may not only be looking for a new producer on the part Winkler show we may be looking for a new host as well I I know you were busy today but we have determined how we're going to select new producer for your show would you like to hear it yes please so the Raiders drafted Brock Bowers because they were between Brock Bowers and Terry on Arnold and they flipped the coin that's what Terry and Arnold said and I guess it landed on whatever side Brock Bowers are supposed to be heads or tails I think we should narrow down the candidates and get it down to two and like I'm just gonna throw two names out here Pat Boyle and Carlos Ortiz will put one on heads one on tails and whoever it lands on that's how we determine who your next producer is gonna be how about they just both get hired and I do even less work I think that could be a financial issue I don't I'm just gonna go out in a Lynn that they're not gonna they're not gonna give you two producers on your on your extravagant well no take one salary give them half oh yeah take a little no give them take the producer salary flip a coin for aesthetics give each of them 40 percent and then give the other 20 percent to me so that's that's real nice you're gonna make them split a producer salary 40 percent 40 percent and then a big bucks Bart's they'll get 20 20 percent of that big bucks Bart the first 15 years I was in this business I made a combined like $200,000 in 10 years Bart Winkler when's the wind when's the windfall coming yeah when's the payoff coming gee I just hope that there's not a day where we annoy you so much in this segment where you end up like ripping off your shirt and just going nuts and start screaming into the camera I just hope that doesn't happen I feel like today is when I come on your show at least I'm I'm buttoned up I'm not I'm not I'm not prank calling like it's 1992 oh by the way that was good I'm surprised you didn't realize it but I got chef pretty damn good and my favorite part is when I called chef and he still didn't believe that I was Alex or AJ in Milwaukee I like that you're like my dad knew it was me of course it's your dad I don't know I played it for him he goes who are these two idiots he goes how did they not know that that's uh that's you because it's obviously sounds like you uh by the way because we're always just on high alert for Zach Gelb to prank call us I just have a uh a random question you think it's time for Giannis and the Bucks to just have an inevitable split it feels like it it's time I mean I've been saying that for the last four years get him out of here and make Milwaukee suck again I'm tired of his expectations I want to be battling for the eighth seed like the good old days growing up that was in the athletic right where that garbage was or was it somewhere else now that was in the ringer oh the ringer okay so I apologize just 15 people you know writing to appease Lord Simmons yeah well that's what I was originally going to get you going when I was going to call in on that that's what I was originally going to to get you wild about was the whole Giannis trade with the ringer article and then one chef says he could coach the Lakers like come on what are we doing here I would like to see it I'll just say that I would like to see it happen I would like to see it happen too I would also like to see it happen before the Tyson fight that he's going to go up against because he actually fights Mike Tyson unless if he talks him to death Mike Tyson is going to just murder David Sheppard I would like to see I would like to see if because he's he he was he was excited about his JV accolades yeah like can you at least coach varsity before we get you on the sideline at crypto.com arena there's there's steps you gotta take chef yeah buddy no I'm just saying see now Bart's gonna be unleashed the next few days chefs on the way out hey I know Bart well here comes the stabbing on the back of David Sheppard what's in the bar tonight I just never stabbing back I never stab in the back I always go right in the front we'll be using that as a drop I'm sure Bart Winkler we appreciate a part thank you thanks guys he's Bart Winkler you can catch him as the host of the Bart Winkler
