Jim was at the laundromat when he heard his ear said maracas senor but his nose said hey freshest scent ever. Following his nose, Jim found a man pouring gain scent beads into the washer. The scent, the freshness. Jim blurted sir your scent maracas smell amazing. You could call them scent maracas but most noses call them gain scent beads. Try gain scent beads.
Way fresher than detergent alone. The following program is sponsored by What's Right What's Left Ministries and is responsible for its content. Portions of the following program may be pre-recorded. I can tune into your show and hear the unvarnished truth. Thank you. This is What's Right What's Left with Pastor Ernie Sanders. Good evening and welcome to another edition of What's Right What's Left in a Second Day. Today is Groundhog Day. Hardly anybody knew that.
Not even a lot of the groundhogs. But welcome to another edition of What's Right What's Left and tonight my producers, their illustrious co-host, none other than Kenny. Illustrious. Good evening Pastor. Hey Kenny, what did you do for Groundhog Day?
I stared at my shadow. Okay, that's good. That'll work. What are you supposed to do for Groundhog Day? I guess you'd have to consult with a groundhog.
I don't know. I don't know any, so. Alrighty, well we got plenty of them around here.
I mean this place is loaded with them. You know, but they, these groundhogs around here, they will agitate you. They let you know that I can get into your garden and there's nothing you can do about it. Your fences don't mean anything.
That's right, I can go under them. Anyhow, the title of the message this week is The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Now, for most of my years of preaching, Kenny, I had preached topical messages relevant to current events, with a few exceptions. In fact, a few weeks ago I preached two messages that were exegetical, exegetical messages.
So this message today is going to be on three different topics, the good, the bad, and the ugly. And this is going to be a biblical explanation of good starts with obedience and compliance to God's law, which is made up with, and that's what we're going to take a look at here in a few minutes. But let's start tonight in 1 John chapter 2 and verse 15.
1 John chapter 2 and verse 15 through 17. Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loved the world, the love of the Father is not in him. Now, do you know what that is right there, that commandment? This here is a commandment, love not the world. It's not a suggestion. In other words, he's not saying, well, you know, all things in moderation, so love the world so much, or, you know, you don't have to love the world too much or do it very little.
He's telling you absolutely not to love the world. It's a rule imposed by God, isn't it? It's an absolute mandate. So now... Yeah, there's no should.
You should. No, it's you do this. Yeah.
So that's the way he starts out. And when we take a look at the world, what is the world? Well, the world is a system. It's a system of possessions. It's a system of positions and pleasures. Possessions is materialism.
Would you say that the prosperity church is loving the world? Absolutely. Yeah. It's a system of positions. Do you think when people, they run like Nancy Pelosi, she runs for a job that pays 160,000 a year, and all of a sudden while she's in office she goes from a worth of 1 million to over 300 million.
It's insane. Ah, it's about positions, right? It's so fishy there, and I would love for that to get looked into.
Well, I think maybe it just will have to. Because, I mean, she had no problem of blatantly insider trading out in the open. But it's about position. It's about control there. And then pleasures. This is all of what Epstein's Island was all about. This is what Dave P. Diddy thing was all about.
That's what Hollywood's all about. Pleasures. So, when you take a look at that, he goes on to say, For all that is in the world is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. It's not of the Father, but is of the world. So you have three classes of temptations here, right? You go the lust of the flesh. The lust of the flesh concerns the body, doesn't it? Yes. And so, what are some of the things that your flesh lusts for? Well, I mean, there's physical attention.
I'm not sure. Would eating and alcohol and all that be included in it? Boy, it absolutely would.
Okay, absolutely would. I mean, you can't be a Baptist without liking fried chicken and watermelon, right? I don't think you could be human without liking fried chicken and watermelon. Right. And then, that is being earthy. And that's what James 3.15 talks about. Then lust of the eyes, the lust of the eyes. The eyes are the windows to what?
To your soul. Yeah. And so, we're looking at things that are good to see, sensual. Now, here's where you can get a lot of trouble, especially with the way women dress today, and especially the way you can't go to the beach out there because they're pretty much going naked. Yeah, they might as well be, if they're not.
Yeah. So, that's sensual. I mean, if you would go down there with your wife, she'd say, would you quit looking there? Would you not look over there? Where am I going to look? Right down at the ground here.
It's everywhere, right? And then, the pride of life. Aha, the pride of life.
What does that deal with? It would be being proud of yourself and... Your spirit, huh? Yeah. And what you've done and what you've accomplished and all that, and none of that even matters.
Well, yeah. Well, what comes before a fall? Pride. Pride comes before the fall. And so, anyhow, that's where... The pride of life is considered to be devilish.
It's devilish. And so, it goes on to say here, and the world passes away, and the lust thereof, but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever. Now, think about this right now for a minute, okay? And the world passes away. Is that happening presently right now? Is that happening? Yes, absolutely. Every day. So under the dominion of God's curse, the whole creation, it says Romans 8.22 is in pain under its bondage of corruption.
Excuse me. And what do we call this? The Scripture calls it decay. We're literally disintegrating back into the dust, but it's happening at such a low pace, but some of us recognize what's happening here. So the basic elements from which it was formed scientifically, this is essentially what is known as universal law of increasing entropy, a law which clearly disproves the imaginary evolutionary progress of the world. And that is, evolution is not a theory, it's a joke, right? It's a fallacy. Yeah, but I've always thought if evolution was true, then why are there still monkeys?
Why haven't they, why are they still there? If we evolved from monkeys, why are there still monkeys? Well, if evolution was actually true, when an apple falls from a tree, instead of rotting, it would become better. Yes, exactly. Okay. And then, you and I, instead of disintegrating, we would become better, right?
Yes. One of these days we will. That's the plan. Yep, that'll happen, praise the good Lord. But then he says there, he says, but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever. God doesn't change, does he?
No. So, in contrast to the law of physical decay, so nor does God's work ever change, even though their physical bodies are now under the curse. Those who do God's will in accepting Christ will receive brand spanking new glorified bodies, eternal in character, and that's all going to happen when the Lord returns and the rapture of the church takes place, huh? And so, here now, I want to go over to, well, first of all, we're going to take a look at the law, the law, okay? The law is made up of, in fact, if you read 119th Psalm, it's all there, okay? We have the commandments, we have the judgments, we have the ordinances, we have the precepts, we have the statutes, okay? All of that is combined under God's law. So, what we need to do is take a look at the definitions of the, the biblical definitions of all those things, don't we? So, here, commandments. The biblical definition of commandments is rules imposed by God. We just saw one of the commandments right here, love, not the world. That's a rule imposed by God, huh? David. Yes.
R. Okay. And so, when we take a look at judgments, now, judgments, the biblical definition of judgments is an authoritative opinion or decision or sentence of justice. So, that's what a judgment is, an authoritative opinion, decision, or sentence of justice.
And then, ordinance, ordinance. You know, here's where some of the people really get upset, they mess up with Romans 13. This is why I can't believe sometimes some of what I hear people and, you know, the, what's his name, the health ranger recently came out and he has no, you know, he might know science and he might know medicines, but, boy, he has no understanding at all of Romans 13. I never heard of such a worse explanation of Romans 13 and he totally misunderstood it. He said the apostle Paul was a traitor, you know.
Yeah. And I said, what in the world is this guy talking about? He thought that Romans 13 taught that we had to obey the government, no, that Paul was saying you have to obey the government no matter how corrupted it. That couldn't be farther from the truth.
It's totally opposite. First of all, what does Romans 13 do? It defines what is legitimate government. It defines legitimate government. What we have here today is so corrupted, it's become illegitimate, okay, but that's going to change. Now, we see some changes coming, don't we?
Pete Slauson Yes, we do. Gary Barnes So, when we take a look at ordinance, ordinance is regulations established for proper procedure of the law, okay, and so then we take a look at precepts, okay, and the biblical definition is a specific charge and then statutes, specific rule of law. So, we see that. When is one of the first statutes that we see enforced or talking about?
It's during the Noe Covenant where God gives the statute of the death penalty in Genesis 9, 5 through 7. And so, you have, do you remember the five points of legitimate human government? Pete Slauson No. Gary Barnes I've talked about that so many times. Pete Slauson No, I don't.
Gary Barnes Okay. Well, here, the five points, when God gave us the divine institution of human government, he made five points very clear. The first point to whom it was given, that was during the Noe Covenant, and you find that in Genesis 9 verses 10, 11, and 12, and 15, and 16, to all mankind for perpetual generations and everlasting covenant, okay, to all living things, and then that spans, that spans all dispensation periods. And so, here, in those five points, the second point was the intent. The intent was man was to govern for God. You find that in verses 1 through 4, okay. But the third point, Ken, is the most important point, the most important point, and that is the purpose, the entire purpose, you find that in Genesis 9 verses 5 through 7, the entire purpose of divine human government was to preserve the image of God that being man. That was the whole purpose, right? In other words, and this is where you get the statute of the death penalty. This is why, when I say, God says, if you abort your baby, then God says you deserve to die for doing that.
That's what God says. The people get mad at me for doing it, but all they got to do is pick up the book. I didn't write it, did I? I'm not that old, right?
I don't think so. So, anyhow, but what is my job? My job is to tell them what the Word of God says, right? Yes, exactly. Okay, that's my job, is to give it to them, and that's what I do.
What they do with it, that's up to them. But I'm going to do my job. You know why I'm going to do my job? Because I fear the Lord, and I love the Lord, okay.
And that's why I'm going to do my job, because I know what He did for me, and I'm going to give Him my very best. Then that's the statute, that specific rule of the law. Statute is the specific rule of the law. Now, all of these things fall under the definition of the law. So, what is the definition of the law? Well, it's an authoritative rule of conduct. An authoritative rule of conduct, okay. So, the commandments, the judgments, the ordinances, the precepts, the statutes, all fall under God's rule of law.
Okay. And so, I want to go over now to Philippians chapter 4. In Philippians chapter 4, verses 1 through 9.
Therefore, my brethren, dearly beloved, and longed for my joy and crown to stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved, I beseech Euodius and I beseech Syntege that they be of the same mind in the Lord, and I entreat thee also, true yokefellow, to help those women which labored with me in the Gospel. Well, can you believe that two women could not get along? You don't say. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, this is a crazy thing, right? Wow. It's right here in the Bible, too. When you've been a pastor for 50 years, boy, you know that in spades, I can tell you.
And so, here now, they're having minor disagreements, but they can cause that, that can cause a problem. So now, here's the interesting thing. And I entreat thee also, true yokefellow. Now, that word in the Greek is suzukos, suzukos. A number of theologians, actually, they believe that that name, sugogos, that was his real name. That was his real name.
So, in the English, he would be called, and of course, in the Greek, it meant yokefellow, okay? And so, to help these women which labored with me in the Gospel, and Clement also, and with thy fellow laborers whose names are in the Book of Life, and that's where we want to make sure our name's at, right? Absolutely. He goes on to say, Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
Okay. Boy, that is something there when he talks about the Lord is at hand. You know what that simply means? It means his return has always been imminent, and he frequently told his followers to watch for him, to watch for him. James 5, 7 through 9, Revelation 22, 7 and 20. He's always at hand, and he's always at hand in a secondary way, really, you would have to say, by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, huh? He that is in us is what?
Greater than he that is in the world. He says, Be careful for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be known unto God. Now, did you know about the Church of Philippi? The Church of Philippi, now think about this here, was in very, very deep poverty. The folks, they were poor folks. I mean, they were poor, okay? And not only were they poor, but things weren't going good for them. There was persecution of the Church.
And yet, they weren't complaining and crying like some of the others were, okay? And so, and the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, and this is the whole crux of it, okay? Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things, you know, whatsoever things are true. In today's society especially, is there a whole lot of things that are not true? Oh, all over the place. Everywhere you turn, there's lies being spewed everywhere.
Everywhere you turn, huh? Propaganda, I mean, worse than it's ever been. Whatever things are honest, boy, wouldn't it be good, listen, you know, we can't even get honesty in the pulpit, much less in the judicial system or the legislation, huh? Well, hopefully, things start turning around soon.
And it's been, I can tell you what they call mainstream media has been about as far from honest as you can get, haven't they? Absolutely. And so, here, whatsoever things are just, boy, we need justice. Whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of a good report. If there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on these things. Now, it goes on to say, these things which you have both learned and received and heard, this seemed and seen in me do and do and the God of peace be with you.
Okay. So, now, here, these are all, these things, all these things that you're talking about are all the fruits of living in compliance and obedience with God's laws. That's what comes from, this is called the good. Yeah. So, this is where all of these things come from being in compliance and obedience to God's laws. All good things come from obedience and compliance. Here now, so now, what is the bad?
What is the bad? Well, you can go, some years ago, I attended classes. There was a conference given and workshops given on investigating Satanism. And a fellow named Tom Wedge, he's referred to as the Satan Hunter. I don't know if Tom's still alive or not.
You know, it's been several years. But he wrote that book, The Satan Hunter, and he headed up the very elite police department. It was the only kind of, only one of its kind in the whole United States, okay, that dealt specifically with chasing down Satanists and satanic activity. And they dealt with all of the cults to Santa Maria and so on and so forth. And so, anyhow, the people sponsored and wanted me to attend because at that time I was actually teaching some courses over at Lakeland Community College on exposing Satanism, how to identify Satanism in your area.
And believe me, I had my confrontations with those people. And so, what happened, there was like 35 people in that class. And out of the 35, they were all police officers, detectives, except for two. You had one coroner and me.
So the two of us, and in a way, he was kind of a cop in a way himself. He was a young guy, but just getting into being a coroner. And so, anyhow, out of the class of 35, there was only one individual that scored 100%.
And he was the first one that was finished with the test, and he scored 100%. Who do you think that was? The coroner? No, it was me. Oh, okay. I thought you were teaching. No, I wasn't teaching the class. Oh, I thought you were teaching the class. No, I was taking the class. Okay.
Okay. And there was a reason they wanted to know, how did you finish that so quick? How did you know? Well, here's what I knew that they didn't know. That Satanism is the anti-Christ is in total opposition to whatever the Bible teaches. So on all of the different topics, you know, there was about 40 questions that were topics of the Bible, okay? I understood what they were, then I understood the opposite of them, okay?
And so here, since I knew what the Bible taught, I knew what the opposite of that would be. So to me, it was a breeze. Yeah, it had to be pretty easy for you. Yeah. And so when it was all finished, Tom Wedge, the commander, said to the chief over there, here's the guy you need on your department right here. I mean, and I told him, well, you know, that's not what I do.
But I mean, I taught, and we've done programs on that. But anyhow. I looked it up. Thomas William Wedge passed away June 5th, 2022. Well. It's 78 years old.
Tom was only 78 when he, well, do you know, you wouldn't know if his missus is still alive, probably. No, I have no idea. Did it say there that he left, who he left?
No, it doesn't say here. It just says passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He was a good man. Well, that's something, too. I didn't, you know, I haven't spoken to him in probably over 20 years. Anyhow.
So he's survived by his wife, Brenda, of Huntsville, Ohio, daughter Gloria and Chris Crane. So at that time, then, in 2022, that's only been three years ago. Yeah.
Well, you know, I wonder why I hadn't heard from him in such a long time. But anyhow, so here we're, the whole point of that is, the definite and the biblical definition of bad is the absence of good in all ways and the opposite of all that is good. Okay? And so all of those things that we talked about earlier here would be in total opposition.
So all those definitions that I gave you, it would be in total opposition to all of those. Mm-hmm. So now we go to the ugly.
So we did the good and the bad, but now the ugly. Now, the word ugly is actually not in Scripture, but evil. Okay?
Mm-hmm. And the definition of that, of ugly, is offensive to sight, hideous, morally offensive, or objectionable. Okay. So now that we have covered what is good and what is bad, as we take a look at ugly, and where would be a better place to look for ugly than in Romans chapter 1?
Okay. So we go to Romans chapter 1, right? And we read verses 24 and 25.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves, who changed the truth of God unto a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. So now, here, let s take a look at ugly.
Let me see if I hit ugly good. How about drag queens? Yes. Okay. Cross-dressers.
Absolutely. LGBTQ sodomites. Mm-hmm. Pedophilias. Yep. Transgender. Mm-hmm. Bestiality.
Any kind of sexual deviance. What about Biden s Surgeon General Rachel Levine? Okay.
Is it I mean Rachel Levine have you ever seen Rachel Levine? Yes. Yes.
I can t remember who said it, but someone said he looked like Benny Hill in drag. Worse. Much worse. Much worse.
Okay. And oh, it s terrible, okay. And then he s got that he tries to talk in a high voice, okay.
And he calls himself Rachel. And it s ugly, believe me, okay. It s not natural. It s so very unnatural, and it is ugly. Not even just physically ugly. It s spiritually ugly. Yeah.
And then you ve got another one. Now, if anyone could maybe match or maybe even outdo Rachel Levine, Biden s appointees, is Sam Brighton. Do you know who Sam Brighton is? Um, wasn t that the bald one with the mustache that was cross-dressing and got caught stealing luggage from airports? He was bald with earrings in his nose and ears. He wore dresses, okay.
A bald man with a mustache who wore dresses. And he ran through airports grabbing women s luggage, but he didn t even just try to get away with that. He opened them right there in the airport. This is a true Democrat. This is what if you re a Democrat today, this is what you re really all about nowadays.
I mean, unbelievable. Do you know what his position was in the Bidens law? Didn t have something to do with nuclear waste disposal? He was, yeah.
He was a nuclear energy official. And so, here s a guy. Here s a guy that runs through airports wearing a dress with a mustache, bald-headed, with metal in his head, stealing women s luggage. And so, that s ugly.
Yes. I mean, that s really very, very ugly, okay. And then you have today, of course, when we were out there on the streets, out in front of the abortion mills, when we would protest out there, we would have signs and great big pictures of aborted babies. And it would really drive them crazy. It would drive them nuts. And they would say, Why do you force us to look at those pictures of those aborted babies? I said, I want you to look at your sin. See, this is your sin. Now, is your sin hard to look at? If you can t stand to look at your sin, what do you think about God?
How does God look at your sin, right? And this, you know, sometimes that alone made them leave, who would turn them away and they would leave. Other times, their sin just made them angrier because they got caught, okay. And like I told them, if you can t even hide from me, how are you going to hide from God?
Because they used to try to find ways of sneaking in without coming in contact with any of us out in front of the bloody abortion mills, okay. And they just didn t want to look at their sin. And so, we go on and we read here.
Now, here you re going to see in this next thing, you re going to see a sad sequence of events. God gives them up to uncleanness, the worship, the creation, and not the creator, okay. And then he gives them over to a reprobate mind. For this cause, God gave them up into their vile affections, for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature.
And likewise also men leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another, men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves the recompense of their error which was meet, okay. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which were not convenient. Now, I want to go over and jump over for a minute here, to Leviticus chapter 18. In Leviticus chapter 18, I ve got to hold my place over here, the ruins. Start in verse 21. And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Moloch, neither shall thou profane the name of God that I am the Lord. Okay, now, here, as we re seeing in those days, you know that this practice is that we re going to read about here. Neither shall thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith, neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto it is confusion. Now, that s an interesting thing, okay. If I was to say to you, look, when Jezebel stood before Ahab, she stood before a beast.
If I was to say when Hillary stood before Bill, she stood before a beast, what do you think? Um, yeah, probably, yeah. Well, you say, well, how can you justify that? Well, I could do that by going to the book of Jude. And in the book of Jude, they re referred to as beasts, okay. And so, in fact, if I go over, no, this is, ah, come on, these pages are thin.
Okay. So those that speak evil of things they which they knew not, but what they know, naturally, as brute beasts, those things, then they corrupt themselves. Woe unto them, for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaving court.
So, it s referring to all of the things that Ahab and Jezebel embraced and, you know, what Bill and Hillary embraced, right? And so, we see these things happening today. But, you know, there was some good news. Did you see what happened just over the weekend in Iran? No, what happened? You had over a million Muslims at a huge, huge gathering of revival, a million Muslims converted to Christianity.
Wow! Yeah, things are happening around the globe. And so, here, now, when we read this thing, he goes on to say, Defiled not yourself in any of these things, for in all of these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you, and the land is defiled. Therefore, I do visit the iniquity thereupon, and the Lord himself bombeth it out her inhabitants. Remember Kurtina, the hurricane, Kurtina? Katrina? Yeah, Katrina, yeah. Well, before that happened, just the day before that happened, there were two pastors in New Orleans, and they went to talk to the mayor there, and they told him, you know, call this off, call this, they were going to have the southern decadence, the sodomite, the big sodomite parade, southern decadence thing, and these two pastors said, listen, you're going to hear from God, you better call it off. Not only did this guy mock them, he blasphemed God, he blasphemed God, and the last I heard, he was still in prison.
He got caught stealing and bezzling a lot of money, okay? But, anyhow, so what happened? Kurtina came in, just as they were having their southern decadence, and guess what it did? The water flooded and vomited them out, just like you see here.
Yeah. And the land itself, the land itself vomited out her inhabitants, okay? And so, here, when we take a look at this, what he's talking about, thou should not lie with mankind as with womankind, you know, that was, in Sodom and Gomorrah, it became so prevalent that it became the normal. It became the normal, not the exception. In Greece, in Corinth at that time, in the biblical times, it also, and even after that, became so prevalent sodomy that they used to, even when I was a kid, when I was a young kid, they would say, you know, instead of, he was sodomized, they would joke and say, that guy's going to Greek you, or they used that term even in the prisons, too, that he got Greeked, okay?
That was a terrible, I don't hear it so much anymore, but that's the way it was back then. And so, here, I'd lost my place in Romans, we've got to go back to Romans. Here we pick it up, and even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to reprobate mind, to do the things which were not convenient. What do you think a reprobate mind is?
Um, not having a care? Reprobate is not being able to really distinguish good or evil anymore. It's a sick mind, a very sick mind, okay? Being filled with all unrighteousness, boy, he goes through a whole litany of things here, none of them are good, are they?
No. All unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, wait, I've seen this, this is the Democratic Party plank. That's what that is right there, okay? Covetousness, maliciousness, full of enmity, murder, debate, deceit, malignity, whisperers, okay?
Backbiters, haters of God, spiteful, proud, boasters and inventors of evil things, and disobedient to parents, well, without natural understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable and unmerciful. Now, all of that can be wrapped up in that last verse. Now, God's Word and His authority have not been diminished, not one iota, not one iota. It means as much today as it did when this was written, huh?
Absolutely, maybe even more so. Now, society has been so morally soiled to the point that even, well, even the churches, that even though churches that don't embrace such sin refuse to really They don't preach against it. Pardon? They don't preach against it, though. Yeah, they refuse to push back hard against it and condemn it, huh? Mm-hmm. And there's Joel Osteen, when he was asked why he does repritz against the sin of sodomy, he said, well, it really just makes people feel bad, and he's not here to make people feel bad.
I want them to feel good, right? So does Joe tell people what they want to hear or what they need to hear? What they want to hear. And so, well, I'm going to tell you, that Ainsley Newhart, or whatever, from Fox News, you know, she's pretty, but, boy, I'm going to tell you, she sure is not biblically... I know she talks about her Bible studies all the time, but here, she is not biblically oriented in any which way. Here, she had Joel Osteen on her program, and she was telling Joel Osteen, you must have so many crowns in heaven, so many rewards in heaven for what you've done, your preaching, how good you've made people feel, okay?
Boy, I don't know. Ainsley, you need to do some Bible, some real Bible study. You need to get in with some real Bible teachers there. Boy, I'm going to tell you, that, you know, Joel Osteen is, first of all, do you know, he's not even an ordained minister. Did you know that?
Yeah, I thought I heard that. He's actually one of those positive preachers, but positive thinking, but that's really not positive at all. Here, positive would be in being in compliance and obedience with the Word of God, right?
Absolutely. And think of the disservice that he's doing, any of the poor souls that are listening to him. Yeah, they're there, and you see, that's why I think there's a special hot place in hell. Remember what Jesus said to the religious leaders over in Matthew chapter 23. He says, Not only do you keep others, okay, will you not enter into the kingdom of God, but you stand in the way and hold and keep others from going there.
And then he goes on to say, Therefore your damnation will be the greater. Joel ought to find that, you know, and read that, right? You would think. Uh, you would think he would want to do that, okay.
You'd think he'd actually want to know what he's talking about, but I guess not. How much of that money he's making, he's pulling in a lot of money, how much of that can he take with him? None of it. None of it's going to go with him, is he? No. Okay.
None of those earthly possessions. So what if he's got the mindset, I know what I'll do, I'll live the good life now, and when I, before I die, he's planning on knowing that, then I'll convert over and I'll get saved, and all my sins will be forgiven, right? Well, maybe.
I don't know. I mean, that's, I... Do you think the Lord is going to say to him, Depart from me, I never knew you? I would venture to say yes, but I don't know, I mean, if he's truly saved at the end, you know, I mean, it's not my call. Here's what the Lord said to those phony religious leaders. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for you compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, you make him twofold more the child of hell than yourself. Boy, that's not good, is it? No.
Okay. And so, then he says, But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men, for you neither go in yourselves, neither suffer you, them that are entering to go in. And therefore, he says, Therefore, your damnation. Now, what is the significance of using the term damnation instead of condemnation?
Would it be because it's certain? Condemnation is being, is the sentence, okay, handed down from the verdict. Damnation is the sentence carried out. Okay. It's a stronger word there, okay?
It's a stronger word here. So, now we go back to the last verse there in that passage of Scripture, which is in verse 32. Now, think about this one, okay? Back in Romans. Yeah, Romans chapter 1 verse 32, the last verse in 32, in Romans 1. Who knowing the judgment of God, who knowing the judgment of God, these apostate preachers, they know what they're doing. And that's what Jesus was referring to those in Matthew 23, huh? They which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Have you ever heard, well, personally, I would never have an abortion, but I won't judge those to do, okay?
That's code word. I had those that have come out of the child killing industry, the ones that, believe it or not, even they could get saved. And they'd tell you, Carol Everest, who ran like five abortion mills, I believe, in Texas there, she told me, she said, when you hear these women say that personally I could never have an abortion, but I'm not going to judge those to do, she said, that's code word.
That means that they've had at least one. She says, you can count on that. Well, her being in the business, I believe what she said. And that's a horrible thing to do that.
Boy, I'm going to tell you. See, they don't today because they say, well, society accepts it because we hear that on the news. We take polls and the polls are rigged to say what they want, to get the results that they want. But you see, most of these people don't get it at all, okay? And they say, oh, but it's legal. Just because it's legal doesn't mean it's right.
Right. There's a big difference between what is legal and what is lawful, huh? And so the word of God makes that really clear. And so here you've seen these people speak that. But remember when Obama and Rick Warren, when Obama was running back in 2008 and they came up and they were talking about same-sex marriage. And Obama said, well, personally, I believe marriage can only be between a man and a woman. Remember, he was his saddleback with Rick Warren. Rick Warren's apostate, the day is long, okay? And Rick Warren said, I feel the same way, right? And I said right then when they did that, I said, you wait. The very day that Obama wins, once he's elected, the very day he will change his position. He will then say, yes, I agree with sodomite marriages or what they call same-sex marriage. And that's exactly what happened. Both him and Rick Warren both did it the very day. You talk about deception, huh?
You know, that's classic of politicians saying what you want to hear so they can get elected and then doing the exact opposite once they get into office. Absolutely. So now I want to go over to Ephesians, chapter 4, and starting with verses 12 through 16.
But first I've got to wet my whistle. You said chapter 4? Chapter 4, verse 12 through 16. For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come in the unity of the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man and unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, that we henceforth be no more children tossed to and fro and carried about with every slight wind of doctrine and by the slight of men in the cunning craftiness whereby they lie and wait to deceive. But speaking the truth in love may grow up in him in all things which they had, even Christ, from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth according to the effectual working in the measure of every part maketh the increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. Now, those of us that are truly saved are not so gullible as to be, well, I don't know, I guess, well, desensitized.
Desensitized would be a good word by society to the point that we have no longer possessed a righteousness or what we refer to as righteous indignation against all that is evil and ugly. We will speak the truth in love, we will refute, we will reprove, we will rebuke, and when needed, we will stand in the unity of faith. We, those of us that are truly saved, will seek to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. To become more Christlike continuously, we must never ever become disheartened because we know many are called but few are chosen. He that is in us is greater than he that is in the world, and that's an absolute, right?
Darrell Bock Absolutely. Gary Barnes And so all of those things is what is the stand that we're going to take. Undeniable, and folks out there listening, I know we're coming up to the end of the program tonight, but tonight is the acceptable night. You know, the Word of God is being Jesus said, Heaven and Earth will pass, but my words will never pass away. Remember, they said once he's dead, he's gone, he's no longer going to be a problem. But now, now, more and more, you just had, like I said, a million Muslims convert.
Darrell Bock That's amazing. Gary Barnes Yeah, and that's happening, that's a sign, that's another one of the end time signs that's happening. You're seeing what Daniel wrote about. See, Daniel really didn't understand at that time, but he said, Seal up the book, Daniel, until the end time of the end. So we are seeing now the book being unsealed. They didn't understand a lot of that stuff that was coming, but now we've seen it, okay? And so we're here watching what Daniel would have said there before. He said, Seal up the book, he said, in the later times, knowledge will be increased rapidly, rapidly.
Are we seeing knowledge being increased rapidly today? Darrell Bock Yeah, absolutely. Gary Barnes Then he says, and men will run to and fro around the planet, and people are going to be running here, running there. Can you imagine those people in those days to take a journey?
You know, you were talking about, you know, maybe a year, you know, it might take you a year to go to a specific place or back or whatever. We're doing it now, aren't we? Darrell Bock Yeah. Gary Barnes And so, so folks, God's word in the Bible is 110% extremely accurate. Today is the day that you would go and, well, I would read the Gospel of John chapter 3 and do it.
I would. I know we're out of time for it tonight, so I want to thank my illustrious co-hosts for being with me tonight, and all you folks out there, and we say good night. Darrell Bock Good night. Gary Barnes God bless. Darrell Bock God bless. Gary Barnes And always, always. Darrell Bock Always. Gary Barnes And always, always. Darrell Bock Always. Gary Barnes And always, always. Darrell Bock Always. Gary Barnes Keep.
