All right, church. Hey, I forgot to mention our brothers and sisters over at North Riley. Can you say hello to them this morning?
It's good to have them with us. And look now at 242 this week and next week, we've been emphasizing prayer and we're gonna emphasize prayer But it's gonna be a little bit different prayer we've been talking a lot about demons on Sunday morning because that's all over the book of Mark and Some of y'all wondering well, how do I pray for somebody? Who has demonic oppression? Do I have to be a certified exorcist? Do I have to have the spiritual gift of exorcism? If you're a follower of Jesus Christ, you are more than qualified to deliver people who have demonic issues And so there's some things I've been wanting to share with y'all But I can't really share on Sunday morning and YouTube and all that kind of stuff.
I don't want to make that Too public. So this week and next week that's gonna be our emphasis at 242 How do we prevent the demonic from coming in and then once there are individuals who have demonic issues? how do we pray for them and Again, I've been wanting to share some stuff with you, but I can't do it on Sunday morning But what I can't do on Sunday morning, I'm gonna be sharing this Wednesday and next Wednesday So we'll come out to our 242 meeting for that and look y'all been sticking with me I know I've been preaching a lot here I got to get all my preaching in because in a couple weeks I'm gonna be taking two weeks off to go to Israel and then darn I gonna go to England and to take a couple weeks for that so Y'all good me getting all my preaching in for travel here for a couple weeks All right So look if you would mark chapter 3 mark chapter 3 and as you're turning to mark 3 listen to this story. I love this an inmate caused a mild drama in the Nigerian High Court after a judge acquitted him of all charges against him, but the man demanded to go back to prison Instead of the usual jubilation that follows any ruling of acquitted the inmate in question headed straight back to the prison He was intercepted by a prison guard who reminded him that he was free to go home To the chagrin of eyewitnesses. He said he was going nowhere Demanding that he be allowed back into prison the calm of the court premises was shattered by the freed prisoner shouts and Pleased to be allowed to go back to prison as he thrashed about and struggled with seven several prison officials According to eyewitnesses it took the effort of over six prison officials court workers and policemen to get the freed inmate out of the court premises And that's crazy. You're free, but I want to go back to prison, but you're free. I don't go back to prison it Reminds me of a lot of Christians Jesus died for us. He rose again. He's freed us from sin and he has freed us from guilt and Yet I know a lot of Christians that want to go right back into the prison of sin and guilt and they don't understand the freedom that they have with Jesus they want to go back to prison and So in Mark chapter 3, this is a very interesting passage.
We're gonna go two different directions here today. This passage seems like a Kind of a strange passage to be a springboard to talk about guilt But look at Mark 3 if you would verse 22 and the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said he Jesus has Beelzebub and By the ruler of the demons he casts out demons So he called him to himself and said to them in parables. How can Satan cast out Satan? the kingdom is divided against itself that kingdom cannot stand and if a house is divided against itself that house cannot stand and if Satan has risen up against himself and is Divided he cannot stand but has an end knowing can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods unless he first binds the strongman and Then he will plunder his house assuredly I say to you all sins will be forgiven the sons of men and whatever Blasphemies they may utter but he who blasphemies against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness but is subject to eternal condemnation Because they said he has an unclean spirit. So before we talk about guilt today because I Don't know.
I just feel some of y'all are are trapped in guilt and shame as followers of Jesus And I want to I want to see that Liberation take place in your life today before we talk about that. Let's talk about the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit What does that mean? You know through the years I have I've had people tell me things that God can't forgive somebody say if you if you engage in Satanism, God will never forgive that if you engage in witchcraft God will never forgive that if you commit suicide God can ever forgive that there's a whole list of things That people have told me that God could never forgive but according to this passage There's only one thing God won't forgive verse 29 and that's blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
Now. What is blasphemy the spirit? Well, let me give the background of this in verse 22 you have these individuals called scribes these are the Theological experts, okay look Jews took their theology very very seriously and so there was this combination of government and theology there in ancient Israel and so these scribes are sent from the home base from the capital city from Washington DC to come down and see what's going on to this Jesus guy. They keep hearing about so the scribes come down and They do a study on Jesus Number one they find he's performing miracles. And in fact, John 21 25 says this, you know There's a lot of miracles here in the Gospel Mark John 21 25 says this Jesus did a lot more miracles than are even recorded in the Bible John says this if you try to write down everything Jesus did I don't think the All the books in the world would contain it. So Jesus is doing hundreds maybe thousands of miracles The the scribes interview people listen, you know We were there at the baptism in the Jordan River when he got baptized and we literally heard God's voice from heaven saying this is my son The scribes interview these other people. Yeah, we were actually there in the synagogue when he cast demons out and demons are saying You're the Son of God. I mean they're doing all this analysis on Jesus they see all this and they give their final report and The final report their conclusion is Jesus is empowered by Beelzebub, which is another name for Satan We now come to the conclusion. Jesus is doing all this because he is demonically empowered that's their conclusion and Multiple times the Pharisees and the religious leaders said that Jesus operated by the power of Satan Matthew 9 34 He operates by Satan Matthew 10 25 He operates by Satan verse 22 in this passage It says he cashed out by the power of now the King James and New King James that I use says by the power of Beelzebub Some of your other translations say what? Beelzebul There's a textual variant there.
We're not quite sure. Did they say Beelzebub or Beelzebul? It's kind of interesting Beelzebub was a Jewish name for Satan But they got that name from an Ekronite pagan deity Beelzebub means the the Lord of exaltation What the Jews would do is take that final B and turn it into an L and when you do that the name Beelzebub Now Beelzebul changes and it literally means not Lord of the exalted one. It means Lord of theses So you think about what these guys are saying? They're saying What's Jesus's power? Well, he's empowered by the Lord of crap. That's his power He's empowered by Satan himself, and I love what Jesus does in verse 23 Jesus He calls them to himself. He said whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa Whoa, come here. That's what it means when he says calls him to himself And he said I heard what you just said And let me give you a response. He responds in three ways. No one he gives the logical fallacy of Satan Fighting against Satan.
He said they don't make any sense. I'm casting demons out and you're saying that I am Destroying these demons by the Lord of demons that makes any sense. How can Satan find himself?
Like did y'all have a an annoying older brother? When you're a little kid and he ever do this, I think I did this to myself Look, I think you know, you're looking and get your hands and he would like make your hands hit yourself And he'd say why are you fighting yourself? Why are you hitting yourself?
You know that? Jesus say well you saying Satan is doing the same thing. He's fighting himself.
He's hitting himself. I don't make any sense Secondly, he kind of gives a little analogy here in verse 27 He says look if you're gonna break into somebody's house and steal their property first thing you got to do is get daddy and tie him Up because a daddy is not subdued You can't break into that house and he says I am breaking into Satan's house and I am plundering these souls I am subduing Satan now. Here's kind of interesting What he's saying is therefore I am stronger than Satan There's only one being stronger than Satan do you know who that is God implication Jesus is saying I am God and Then the third way that he responds to this accusation that he casts out demons by the power of Satan is he warns him against Committing the unforgivable sin the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit So what is the blacksmiths because at one time or another I probably had about a third of y'all come up to me So I'm afraid I've committed the blasphemy of the spirit. What is the blasphemy of the spirit?
Well again, go back to the context you have religious leaders that Know that Jesus is fulfilling prophecies. They're seeing all these miracles that are being done they're seeing people liberated and their conclusion is Satan is empowering Jesus instead of the Holy Spirit empowering Jesus blasphemy. The Holy Spirit is this I Believe that Jesus is demon-possessed. He's empowered by Satan. He is not empowered by the Holy Spirit What y'all call good is actually evil. Jesus is empowered by the forces of evil. That's the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit What Jesus is saying is that displays a heart that is so hard There's no forgiveness And again, it is not unintentional. It is an intentional It is an intentional statement that I choose to deny what's true that Jesus is a good man He is God. He is holy.
He is righteous. I choose to ignore that and instead I'm calling him evil and being empowered by evil. That's the blasphemous spirit Now again, I'm not trying to fuss at something some y'all not want to get in a big debate But I've thought of this before and I've had several people come and say to me. No, he's the only unforgivable sin is rejecting the gospel that the Holy Spirit's job is to draw us to Jesus and when you say no to the Holy Spirit you are speaking against or Blaspheming the Holy Spirit. So the only unforgivable sin is rejecting the gospel nice tribe But that's not what the context says.
In fact, the context is very clear. If you look there verse 30, it specifically says Jesus said this because they said he is empowered by Satan Y'all with me? That's my spirit I'll say this if you're afraid that you have committed the blasphemy of the Spirit. You've probably not committed the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit That that shows me your heart is not so hard that there's no hope for you So that's that's what we mean by the blasphemy of the Spirit now we get so focused on that and we should I mean It's very sobering. There's only one sin that cannot be forgiven. It's not abortion. It's not adultery.
It's not homosexuality It's not witchcraft. There's only one sin that can't be forgiven the blasphemy of the Spirit. I can see why we get focused on that But we get so focused and caught up on this thing of the blaspheme of the Spirit that we overlook Another powerful statement that Jesus makes in this passage So we're so focused on the Spirit. Okay, but we're overlooking what Jesus says in verse 28 Assuredly I say to you all Sins Will be forgiven the sons of men and whatever blasphemies they may utter Hey, how many sins? That's an astounding statement That statement blew me away.
And so, you know, I love kind of piddling with the Greek a little bit So I went back to the Greek to see what that word all literally means. Do you know what it literally means in Greek Oh There is not a sin that you've committed that God cannot and will not forgive that's what that statement is saying Don't just stop right there. That's pretty powerful Now here's another question so when I talk about this and y'all amen God God can forgive her But here's here's where people start to zone out Well Chad, what about repeated sins? I know God can forgive me of a sin But Chad you're looking a messed up man that sins a lot of times You're looking at a woman who keeps I get so mad at myself and I keep committing the same sins over and over and over again. What about repeated sins? Y'all understand the question can God keep forgiving you of the same sin over and over and over Now when I was young in the faith and I'd mess up and I'd sin here's what I'd say God, I promise you I swear to you I will never commit that sin ever again you ever done that before and I believe God's honest on go. Here we go again I mean, he just he's heard that so many times but It's a legitimate question What about some of us who are fighting the same fight over and over again?
I'm not trying to be crude and crass, but let me just get here the things we literally do it what about the 15 year old boy who wants to follow Jesus and he Reads that Jesus said if you lust it's just like you've committed adultery And his hormones are raising raging. He wants to follow the Lord Jesus and he has a bad thought and says Lord forgive me I'll never do that again and three minutes later. He's having another bad thought. Is he really born again? Is he truly saved?
What about this one? What about the man who walked in freedom from pornography for weeks? I finally got this thing beat and He falls right back in and he commits the same thing He asked Jesus to forgive him of several weeks ago. Is he not truly born again? Here's one I Get you conservatives excited until I start saying stuff like this What about the Christian?
Who is wrestling with same-sex attraction? And he is fighting that fight and the power of the Holy Spirit and he feels like he has victory and then all of a sudden He finds himself right back into that mess again. Was he truly not born again in the first place? What About you who struggle with anger or gossip or jealousy and you keep doing the same thing You know make to make you mad at not the devil Does it make you mad at yourself you keep doing the same stupid stuff over and over again?
Okay, God can forgive anything. But what about these repeated sins? so if you're wrestling with some kind of it's a sin issue and You don't know am I truly born again or not? Because a born-again person wouldn't think these thoughts you ever had that thought before you're truly saved You wouldn't think those thoughts if you're truly saved you wouldn't be doing that over and over again. Okay, am I truly born again? Well, let me ask you three questions.
You ready? And look, um, I forget Half of what I preach like when somebody says seriously like on Wednesday. Hey Chad, I really like what you said on Sunday Look at all that what I preach on Sunday. I can't even remember I said so Here's Something I want you to remember these three things that this might be something to write down I mean, I'm if you don't have a pen Write it down with lipstick And ladies that goes for you too.
All right, so write this down Three questions number one. Well, how do you feel when you sin? He John 16 8 says there is a convicting component To the work of the Holy Spirit When you mess up even if it's for the fiftieth time in that same day, do you feel bad? Hebrews 12 says You wanna be a child of God?
Yeah. Well if you're a child of God God Spanx God disciplines those whom he loves If you can sin, and there is no conviction, you just don't care. There is no concern. We may have a problem and you understand there's eight now watch this there is a difference between conviction and condemnation Satan condemns God does not condemn he convinced It's like this If I have to go in for surgery sometime The surgeon is a good guy will take a clean sterilized Scalpel and he will cut me not because he hates me He will cut me because he wants to see me healed is a clean precise cut that has a purpose That's conviction Condemnation is getting a nasty old rusty nail and ripping you open. That's condemnation Satan condemns God's Holy Spirit convicts.
So Chad, I'm wrestling with the same stuff over and over again. What do you say? Well, you feel bad honest if you feel bad when you sin, that's number one.
Here's the second question What is your overall trajectory? There is a theological term. You've heard this term. It's called sanctification you've heard that Justification was that takes place when you get born again when you get born again you get saved God says not guilty your sin your guilt is put on my son Jesus Christ at the cross 2,000 years ago I now give you his righteousness. You're not going to go to hell you have passed from judgment I now proclaim you are not guilty. That's what happens when you get saved, but that in the end there is a process called Sanctification it's becoming in practice what you already are in position.
It's becoming more and more like Jesus and It is not a straight linear growing process Y'all may be more spiritual than I am. Let me show you Chad Harvey sanctification process Do we have a picture of a little illustration of this thing? Throw it out there thoroughly that we got. Oh, man.
We don't have the I Had a beautiful beautiful picture of this. Here we go right there that's my sanctification process I Start growing. I'm like Got these sin issues beat. I'm growing in Jesus.
I'm in the word. I'm memorizing scripture I'm firing on all cylinders and then all of a sudden my attitude gets bad and I have a setback And then I'm like, you know what? I'm tired of living like this and I start I'm trying to get closer and closer to the Lord Jesus Christ But I keep having these setbacks now put that picture back up there again If you don't mind, and so what I want you to see is the question. What is your overall trajectory though? Not these setbacks, but if you can look back for the last five or ten years Even if it's just a little bit of growth. Do you see some growth listen? in living things grow So you may have setbacks, but what's your overall trajectory and If you're not growing thank you, if you're not growing you may not be born again. That's the second question Number one.
How do you feel when you see them? Number two? What's your overall trajectory?
And here's the third question now. I'm gonna explain this and say are you still fighting? Let's go back since the whole same-sex everybody's gay today, you know, so let's go back to the same-sex attraction thing Here's the question it's not Do you wrestle with same-sex attraction? I know Christians that seems to be the way the enemy attacks them and they fight that and I want to walk in purity. I want to walk in holiness.
I'm wrestling with this. There's nothing wrong with that what is wrong is what the Presbyterian Church USA is doing or the Evangelical Lutheran Church is doing no, no Celebrate your depravity Celebrate your perversion. That's how God created you have drag queens in your church Wave that rainbow banner and just let it hang That's wrong The question is are you fighting the fight of faith or have you just given in said this is who I am I'll always be this way It's a legitimate question But I want you to look at some verses here The first glance may scare you but it ought to comfort you first John 3 9 Whoever Has been born of God does not sin That excludes me. I Thought I was born again But I sin according to that verse. I'm not born of God Well, this is where the Greek grammar is important in Greek. There's something called the present indicative active Chad that blesses me always wondered what the parsing of that was what it ought to bless you because present indicative active with that word Sin, it means ongoing continuous action Here's the same if you're truly born again You don't throw caution to the wind and just say I'm gonna live like hell. I live however I want day after day I don't care you're not born again Here's another one Galatians 5 19 interestingly Paul is writing to the church when he says this now the works of the flesh are evident which are adultery fornication uncleanness lewdness idolatry sorcery hatred contentions jealousies outbursts of wrath selfish ambitions dissensions heresies Indy murders drunkenness revelries and the like of which I tell you beforehand just as I told you in time past that those Who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God Which I that scares me because I see myself in there. I get angry I get jealous.
I have ambition Chad I'm in there We'll look at verse 21 those who what? Practice such things again. The question is not do you mess up? We all mess up? The Question is when you mess up do you feel bad? The question is are you still trying to grow in Jesus? and the question is are you still fighting and sometimes you win and sometimes you lose and there's a vast difference between that and This is who I am and I'm gonna live like that.
I don't care what God says. That's the difference Thank you. Let me give you an example. I There are some I asked what's your favorite movies? Well, I got a couple one You ever seen the movie true grit the Jeff Bridges version. I like that one. I like I shouldn't watch this I know but it's gladiator with Russell Crowe. I like that one.
And then there's a third one here Maybe y'all never heard of this. It's called warrior or the warrior with a Tom Hardy It's an interesting movie. It's about two brothers who are mixed martial artists fighters and At the very end of the movie these two brothers finally square off in the Octagon and The older brother and the younger but they are fighting fight and fight and finally the older brother Dislocates the shoulder of his younger brother He's beaten the fire out of him that younger brother's on the mat and the older brother goes to a side of the ring He says to his train. It's over.
It's done. I've won Traces no look And he turns around and that younger brother with his dislocated shoulder nose halfway across his face all bloody Messed up he gets off the mat. He does this Like bring it on I ain't done yet And when I watch that I said man, that is the Christian life the enemy pummels us.
He pounds us He goes to his corner He says it's over Chad ain't gonna get back up again that and Chad Harvey by the power of the Holy Spirit Gets back and says bring it on. I ain't done fighting yet That's my question. Are you still fighting the fight of faith, even when you get knocked down and get messed up? So when you go through those three questions Is there conviction of sin? Do you feel bad when you mess up?
Number two is there overall growth even sometimes it's imperceptible. Are you still fighting the fight of faith? That's me Then let me give you two verses the Lord gave me years ago now You will read these verses and you can say this has nothing to do with what you're talking about. It actually does so those of you who are fighting the fight of faith and You keep messing up and you feel bad Matthew chapter 18 verse 21 Peter comes to Jesus and says Lord how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him up to seven times Jesus said to him I do not say to you up to seven times but up to 70 times seven now in In Jesus day the Jewish rabbis taught this you Forgive somebody three times and then you retaliate see Peter thought he's being generous. I'm gonna double it and add one And Jesus says no 490 times now, he doesn't count off him. What are you saying is unlimited forgiveness? Now here's here's what hit me would Jesus give us a standard that he's not willing to live by He says to us I don't care how many times I sin against you you forgive him, but now I'm Jesus I give you three strikes and you're out of here. No Jesus the Son of God would not give us a standard He is not willing to fall So for those of you who have fallen down the four hundred and ninetieth time I want you to understand that same Jesus that told us Unlimited forgiveness is willing to exercise unlimited forgiveness when it comes to us Okay. All right good, but but now here's why I miss it but I sin Multiple times a day and it's the same sin every day What about that?
It's like for me. Look my thing for years was anger. I get so angry sometimes I cuss and the devil would say That same mouth is gonna proclaim the gospel on Sunday morning.
You just use that kind of work. Who are you I? Get so angry. Sometimes I cuss now I'm gonna say this because y'all heard me talking about anger before I never threatened Darla never touched Darla never hit Darla She's got a father and a brother and they got a lot of guns. So I never never okay But I get some mad How can I keep sinning like this and here's how God supernaturally broke me of that Darla said let's make an agreement Whenever you get angry, I have the freedom to go shopping and at that moment Holy Ghost broke that anger and praise God But how many of y'all the same way I do the same stupid sin ten times a day makes me so mad at myself I got a verse for you Luke 17 Jesus says take heed to yourself if your brother sins against you rebuke him and if you repents forgive him and If he sins against you seven times in a day and seven times in a day returns you saying I repent you are to forgive him Again, that's the standard. Jesus gives us. I don't care if he does the same stupid thing seven times a day if his He has a heart of repentance. You forgive him is Jesus going to give you a standard.
He's not willing to live by Implication you may commit the same sin seven times in a day and seven times you get back up and Jesus is willing to forgive Well, this is critical, but it's critical that we deal with this guilt thing. I Believe every one of us here has a sin issue or something you've done in the past. I Think everybody here has one thing that's stuck in the back of the brain at least one It's still messes you up to this day and in a little while I'm gonna ask you to Come forward and give this stuff to the Lord and ladies when your husband's come forward and give stuff to the Lord don't say who Did he cheat on me with listen?
What I found is sometimes the things that is stuck in the back of our mind Are things the rest of us would roll the eyes at like here's one. I know a man that he said something critical horrible to a family member In you know, you know fit of anger and before he had a chance to ever make amends that family member died He's asked God forgiveness and he's still carrying that thing around Of another guy he's like, you know the one sin issue that sticks out in my mind when I was nine years old I stole candy from a convenience store. I've done a lot of bad things for some reason things stuck in my mind So we gotta deal with this guilt thing, but there's a prominent Christian psychologist Who said I love this quote? he says because of most psychological problems in Christians boil down to two things number one the inability to receive God's grace and forgiveness and Number two the inability to extend that grace and forgiveness to other people He's saying if you're dealing with psychological issues guarantee it boils down to those two things the inability to receive God's forgiveness or the inability to forgive others We got to deal with this thing.
I'm gonna give you another example a study published in the British Journal of Psychiatry Reviewed data from 22 published studies and found a link between abortion and mental health difficulties Almost 900 subjects were studied and here's what they said women who had undergone an abortion experienced an 81% increase risk of mental health problems anxiety disorders depression alcohol abuse suicidal behaviors a 2003 study found that women having abortions were 160% times more likely to seek psychiatric care in the 90 days afterwards than women who had delivered their children You don't deal with this abortion deal. It's gonna mess with your mind You don't deal with this guilt thing. It's gonna tear you up now. I'm gonna I'm gonna talk to you like a daddy right now If you've come here this morning because you're wrestling with guilt You can't let it go. You've asked God forgiveness You've claimed the blood of Jesus, but you can't let it go if you've come for some sympathy this morning You've come to the wrong place. I Want to talk straight to you when you say I'm not letting go of this sin I've sinned and God can't forgive me. You are saying two things number one You're saying father God my sin is more powerful than the blood of Jesus Christ You know what a what an affront that is to God That's what you're saying Your son's blood can forgive all this other stuff. His blood is powerless against my sin You're saying that number one and the number two you said father.
You're a liar. I Mean, I know mark 328 says you will forgive everything, but I don't believe you. You're a liar Martin Luther had this great statement years ago. He said if you're gonna sin sin boldly now He doesn't mean just go throw caution to win and be cavalier. That's nobody saying Here's what you mean Work hard fight hard through the power of the Holy Spirit trying to live a pure godly life and when you mess up Don't be a wimp and go into a corner and suck your thumb for the rest of your life be bold Ask God's forgiveness receive his forgiveness and go on Talking straight some y'all won't have to do that Ephesians 1 7 says This is so powerful in him we have redemption through his blood the Forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace that word forgiveness You know that means through the blood of Jesus Christ every sin I have ever committed if I am now a born-again believer I've given my life to Jesus every sin was paid for at the cross His blood covers that sin and washes it away Look at that word redemption.
Do you see that? That word redemption is slave language Redemption means to be released from slavery If I'm a born-again believer, not only am I forgiven of my sins God has opened that prison cell of guilt and says you're free God has said that old master called Satan. You don't serve him anymore You now serve me That's redemption Shelby Foote is one of my favorite Civil War historians And he wrote this book on Civil War and said that you know after after the Emancipation Proclamation and the Civil War and all this kind of stuff he said you could go down to the deep south and find individuals Who still were slaves a?
War was fought The Emancipation Proclamation was signed and yet they still chose to be slaves He said one of these slaves was interviewed and asked about Abraham Lincoln and the Emancipation Proclamation and here's his quote He said I don't know nothing about Abraham Lincoln Except they said he set us free and I don't know nothing about freedom either That's sad a war is fought 600,000 people died a President was assassinated blood was shed. So this man could be free and he's still living in slavery I can tell it's more sad 2,000 years ago a war was fought The Son of God died Blood was shed to set you free and yet some of y'all are still choosing to live in slavery And I'm just saying he who the Son sets free is free indeed Put that sin behind you and walk on through the power of the Holy Spirit So here's what I want us to do this morning, I want us would you stand with me right now just stand with me I hate this morning if You have never Repented of your sins and turn to Jesus If you've never done that before There's only one cure for your guilt. It's the blood of Jesus To bow your head right now, and I want you to say this to Jesus. Don't repeat a mantra Say this to Jesus right now Jesus. I'm a sinner I'm a sinner. Lord, I'm guilty I deserve to be punished Jesus I believe you died on the cross for my sins You paid the price say this to Jesus I turn away from my sins and I turn to you Lord come and take control of my life Lord forgive me of all my sins Lord take me to heaven when I die That's it. I don't know but your Bible my Bible says all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved There's some of you here today Some of you you Still wrestling with this thing There's that one sin That one a point of guilt. You can't let go.
I Know this is silly, but I do stuff like this sometimes. I think I gave you a little slip of paper when you came in If you're wrestling as a Christian with some guilt, I have something powerful about this Before you leave today, I'm gonna ask you to write that down on that slip of paper and fold it up And before you got those doors To come down here and just lay that at the cross Lay that the feet of Jesus and let it go. You're gonna do those papers today We're not gonna go through it. And so what a perverted church we have we're not gonna do that We're gonna take all those slips of paper this week and we're gonna take it out back and we're gonna burn them all It's time to let it go you've been carrying it too long So here's what I want us to do and I mean this Write down that nasty thing you said that you've you've regretted ever since That's sin that you've committed You try to go to sleep at night the devil keeps reminding.
He's the accuser of the Brethren night and day Write it down We leave we'll put it down front. I'm gonna ask us to do this I didn't tell the folks ahead of time But after we sing this song and I'm just miss you and you come down and do that Can we kind of keep the lights maybe where they're at now and kind of a subdued worship atmosphere? Can we do that? And if you're gonna fellowship and talk and high-five and talk about the Panthers game, whatever Can you do that out there and just let this continue to be a worship space down here. Can we do that? Man let's sing to Jesus right now
