Welcome to Truth Talk Live!
All right, let's talk. A daily program powered by the Truth Network, where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. World Vision Child.
You hear these tear-jerking appeals to save a baby, save a child. Well, I'm looking at a guy who was transformed by that, to going to buy a prison for $1, to transform the children of inmates, to give them jobs, to making a major motion picture that's up for all kinds of awards. He is sitting in front of me with his partner in crime who introduced us together, and I've heard about this, and I've known Tom forever, Papa Tom, who also has a podcast.
Serial, God bless you, all the way from India. Put that right on your chin and tell us, man, what's it like to be doing all this stuff right now? Oh, it's praise God, you know. The whole journey that God has brought us here in this moment in time is just like a glory to God. Wow, and you interviewed him. What blew you away about his story, Tom? Well, what blew me away about listening to Cyril, because I first met him in Tennessee, actually, at a Kevin Sorbo conference in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, was that initially he had the same mission that God gave to me, which is Malachi 4-6.
At the end of the age, I'll bring the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I smite the land with the curse. He said the same thing to me as the Lord was telling me. I was in media, but he was doing it in the prisons, and I got into a deeper conversation with him. I said we were like kindred brothers in the Spirit, because God gave us both the Father's heart and gave us two different ways of expressing that, one on media specifically for me, and for him it was in the prisons as really changing the world through that.
Yeah, it's interesting. People go to cities, and they say, okay, we are going to target the youth. People go to cities, they say we are going to pray for the men. People go to cities, they say we are going to reach the church community. People go to cities, they say we're going to reach the homeless, they start a rescue mission. We're going to reach the people in crisis pregnancies, they really pour into the crisis pregnancy centers.
All of those are amazing. But this guy here goes to the cities, Cyril, and you go after the prisons. What's up with that? These are criminals, felons. These are behind bars. They've done terrible things.
Why are you doing that? So the thing is that the guys who are behind the bars have done something wrong, right? What did the children do wrong? What did the children of inmates do wrong to deserve a life like this? If you go to tonight, put your head on the pillow, know this for sure, there were 4,500 kids went to prison, jail, or some criminal justice system today. Just today.
Today. And the thing is this, we have well over 63,000 children that are serving time in prison. There's a difference between a prison and a jail, right? When you get arrested, you go to a jail, but when you get sentenced, you go to a prison. Today, we have 63,000 children below the age 18 serving time in prisons.
Wow. 10,000 of those kids are 13 and under, and 3,000 of those kids are serving time for life without parole. So what we are doing is like we're creating a generation of kids, right?
And that's why, you know, we're going after these children because the statistic says if there is a child that has a father or mother in prison, their chance of going to prison is anywhere between 70 to 80%. And that's the cycle that we wanted to break still. So Tom, generational sin, and then a kid brings, or a parent in prison, a dad in prison gives a kid a gift, they walk out, throw it away because of all the shame, the anger, but when you start washing their feet, tell us what struck you about this testimony. Talk about him a little bit behind his back. Well, right in front of his face here, he's in the studio with us. Quickly, quickly. Well, the thing that he told me really that struck me was the curse in our land is fatherlessness.
Yeah. So he's dealing with fatherlessness and he was dealing it through the children, giving them gifts from the fathers, their fathers, but the children wouldn't accept it. They wouldn't accept it because they didn't like their fathers.
They hated what they were experiencing. So God gave him the key and the key to touching the father's hearts and the key to touching the children's hearts was washing the children's feet. So tell us about that. Yeah, so here's the thing, Stu, right? The number one issue that America faces today is fatherlessness. The reason why is because 25 million households in America doesn't have fathers at home. And when the fathers are missing, then the children are following the footsteps of those fathers.
And so what we are doing, Stu, is this. We're taking these children into the prison and the fathers get a chance to wash their children's feet and ask for forgiveness. The national statistic says, Stu, when a person gets released from prison, their chance of going back into prison is about 70 percent.
Now, when the fathers wash their children's feet and ask for forgiveness, and when those fathers get released from the prison, the statistics that we hold right now is less than 4 percent. Wow. I want you to talk about why you're buying prisons. You just bought one for a dollar, made a major movie about it. You just presented me this beautiful little wood plaque with barbed wire. Who gives me a plaque with barbed wire? This is the only plaque I've ever received with barbed wire.
Where's this from? I've got to take a picture of this. Absolutely. I mean, the thing is this, right? Over the last 12 years, Stu, here's what has happened. In South Carolina, the number of inmates that are serving time in prison has come down from 2012. The number of inmates has come down from 25,000 inmates to 15,000 inmates. Wow. Just through this process.
Absolutely. And then in North Carolina, it came down from 33,000 to 30,000, because of which the prisons are getting closed. Two things that we wanted to do. We wanted to reconcile the relationship between the father and the child, like what Papa Tom talked about, by washing their children's feet, asking for forgiveness, putting the families together. The second thing that we do is we take them to school and pay scholarship for these children. And here's what happened. Over the last 12 years, we have sent 112 kids to college or technical or trade school.
Wow. Getting a chance, breaking that generational curse. Why? Because one out of eight kids that goes to elementary school doesn't finish high school in this country. Every year, 6.6 million children are dropping out of high school.
And that's what we are going after. So three years ago, I went back to the state of North Carolina. I sat down with Senator Steinberg and I asked him, Senator, I wanted to start my own trade school. He asked me why.
Because we have 2,000 kids getting ready to go to school in the next four years. We've got to take a break. Hold that thought. And then when we come back, tell us more about that, the prison you bought for a dollar, and how you went from being a little kid on a milk carton to being a high-level executive at a bank, a born-again believer, a missionary, and transforming our whole prison system.
We're going to get more with Cyril and Papa Tom after this quick break. Don't touch that dial, friends. Truth Talk and Truth Talk Live continues right after this. I'm Stu Everson. Hang on.
Fasten your seat belt. You're listening to the Truth Network and truthnetwork.com. Honestly, one of the most remarkable testimonies I've ever heard in my whole life, and I'm tickled to death to have this man on the air, and he's passionate about reaching prisons with the gospel. And my friend Jerry Smith and our friends at Le Bleu Ultra-Pure Bottled Water are passionate about defeating diabetes. Now, if you're not too excited about your health and you're kind of like, just enough of that, then you just tune out for just a second. But if you really do care about your health, and if you're one of the 136 plus million Americans, that's almost half of our national population, that's impacted by diabetes or prediabetes, our friends at Mighty Muscatine and Le Bleu, I want to say thank you to them publicly, because they have created a brand new beverage called Vine-Tastic. And so folks with diabetes, it's all over India too, folks with diabetes love it.
Why? Because it's got no sugar, no calories, no carbs, it's got no artificial sweeteners, it's got like this plant-based stevia sweetener. And it is, so everyone needs a drink, right? But just to take care of your health. And so they're reminding everyone about the important health benefits of things like, now I'm going to really blow everyone's mind, and you're going to gloss over, but phenolic compounds, ellagic acid, 300 parts per million of antioxidant polyphenols in every one of these little bottles. So that's all to help people get ahead of this thing called diabetes and get that insulin under control. But it's just, it's a blessing, and they partner with this program. They help us change lives.
So I'm talking to y'all because, you know, Tom's like, well, why do you all take these breaks? Well, because I'm talking to y'all because of our friends at Le Bleu, Mighty Muscadine, and Vine-Tastic. And for more information, their website is available at vinetastic.com, and they have also made available a little promo code, TRUTH, which is simple to remember, for those that want to, are interested in learning more and actually getting this stuff.
And I want to say thank you to them. I'm going to give you guys a bottle. I'm going to open this right now, and I'm just going to drink some, if you don't mind.
I don't mind. You got to stay away from the soda and the high fructose corn syrup. That's exactly right, and none of that's in here. So thank you for that. And, you know, honestly, nutrition's a one part of it. More and more folks are waking up to this. Everyone's like, hey, I want to live the healthiest life for the Lord.
This is his temple, not mine. So thank you, our friends at vinetastic.com, for partnering with us on Truth Talk. We're grateful for all of our partners. We're grateful for all of our affiliates that are brave and us curious. I was driving through Aspera, the zoo, and I was listening to Brother Neil Jackson's station, listening to this show yesterday, 88.1 FM, longtime affiliate of Truth Talk Live, the Steve Noble show, you know, prior to us, and Truth Talk on the weekends, which we have. This is going out over hundreds of affiliates with AFR.
We're grateful to all of them for carrying this show, for helping us change the world one soul at a time. And why in the world would you go into prison to do this? What motivates that? A couple of things. Two things, actually. One, I was, you know, from India. I was like, you know, grew up without a father, and I was picked up by Guild of Service. There's an organization. Right. Like a Compassion International World Vision.
They send like 30, 35 dollars to third world countries. I was one of the kids. I was picked up. So someone here said, I want to adopt this kid.
Just like you go to church or you go to a Christian concert and they throw a picture of a kid up and you think, oh, it's just, who knows where this is going. But you actually were a recipient of that. Absolutely. 30, 35 dollars all the way to India, so one day I'll become a senior vice president at Bank of America. Oh, come on. And this is a grace given to me.
Somebody took the time to send 30, 35 dollars all the way to India. And through that process, you came to know Jesus. Absolutely. So in my college years, I gave my life to Christ. And what I do here, here's the thing. The second one is like when I came into this country in 93, right, I was taken down at a gunpoint, locked up in a dark room. And for 45 minutes, somebody had a gun in my head still.
Right. And they showed me what death would look like for 45 minutes. And here's the thing. When I came out of that situation, I was like an E.T., go home.
I didn't want to be here, but somehow God used what I went through to look at the guys who put me through this. And that's how I got introduced to prisons and prison system at large. And one of the things that just got my attention is this, Stu, we kind of not realize how many people that are in prison and going in and out of the prison system every single day.
We have well over 300 billion dollars, not million, 300 billion dollars spent every year on criminal justice system. And that's what we are trying to break. Break that chain.
And that's the name of the movie. Break the cycle. Wow.
Break the cycle. Unreal. So the movie is, Tom, you can download it or it's going to be available soon, right? You've got some pretty good Christian actors in there too, huh? Superman, Dean Cain. Dean Cain is there and 600 people are active in that movie.
Steve Curtis Chapman has given one of his songs in that movie. Come on. And the guys who did The Chosen, the Coppa Studios has done a prose production of the movie. Unreal.
So this is professionally done? Absolutely. And next week in Dallas, in ICBM, and at a film festival, we are one of the finalists for the best feature film. So his testimony is in that movie.
Okay, your testimony of how you came to Christ. Correct. So somewhere in there when someone, someone gracious over here, just some couple said, I want to help.
I want to do $35 a month. I can't go to India. I can't go to the Middle East, but I know there's a kid that's going to help. That money got to you and got you food, clothing, education, and the gospel. Yes. And so here's the thing, right? When you look at a country like India, we have like over 83% of Indians are Hindus and 11% Muslims and only 4% Christians.
I was one of those 4% where God sent somebody to take care of me. Isn't that something? That's the interesting principle of seed, plant, and harvest. Because missionaries were sent over to India and now the result of that, the harvest of that is Siro Prabhu who comes from India back into the United States and God uses him for evangelism in the prisons of the United States. Now you're waking us up and you're adopting us and giving us Christ's love through this movie and through buying these prisons. Right.
So here's the thing, right, Stu. We have like, you know, today there's so many prisons in this country. In fact, 36 states out of 50 states have more prisons and jails than colleges. So buying these or turning this prison into a trade school is not just converting and making into a school.
It's a statement. 16 states in this country have more prison beds than college dorm beds. And that's the number we are trying to change.
This is the first time in the history of this nation a prison is getting converted into a trade school. Now we can't forget, tell everyone, your ministry is Proverbs 22, 6 ministries. What's that, Stu?
Correct. What's that verse? So Proverbs 22, 6 says, train up a child in the way he should go and when he's old he will not depart from it.
We are taking these children to go see their dads. And the biggest part, Stu, is this. When the fathers get on their knees and wash their children's feet and ask for forgiveness.
Right. This is the kind of stuff, just one piece of the puzzle from the Bible, out of 31,000 verses that are there, we're taking like a one piece. And can you imagine how many children are being, you know, brought under Christ? How many children are changing their lives? Praise the Lord.
The second one is also five and two, trade school. Yeah, and we want to talk about that when we come back. We're taking a quick break. Some of you are going to go to some great Bible teaching across the Truth Network, others we're going to stay with the program. So if you're that in whatever category, be sure you subscribe to the Truth Talk, Truth Talk Live podcast, which can be heard on all the different places podcasts are available. You know, Apple, Podbean, Spotify, all those things, Ice Tunes and everything. And be sure you follow me on Instagram.
And I will take a picture. I posted a video just recently about you on there. And Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, it's called X Now. I tweet a Bible verse every night on there. But be sure you follow the Truth Network accounts too. Because we just want to reach more people and we want to help you reach more people. So if you're trying to reach social Christ, we want to talk to you like we're talking to this guy and this guy in the studio right now.
How he went from a milk carton to being a major bank executive. And we're going to tell, okay, how you buy a prison for a dollar. Can you answer that question when we get back? Absolutely. Anybody ever wanted a DYI on buying a prison for a dollar? We're going to tackle that when we come back. Right after this on Truth Talk.
Hang on. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com All right. Going to prison today on Truth Talk and Truth Talk Live nationwide. This show right now is live, but it will be prerecorded here because we're going to make it one of our best ofs for Truth Talk, you know, all over all of our nationwide affiliates.
And we're going to make a podcast out of it because this story is too good not to share. The last place that many people that I know would ever want to go is the prison. That's like Jonah going to Nineveh. You know, Nineveh executed people. They were brutal. They invented crucifixion.
They were horrible. They piled their enemies. So when they conquered a town, they piled their school.
They could be ahead of them and piled their schools up in pyramids outside. Prisoners. These are people who have committed all kinds of atrocious crimes. Right. But then you find out they have children.
Right. And then a man of God comes to Christ because someone graciously adopted him when he was just a little orphan kid in India. Comes over, becomes a bank executive. You'll hear that story if you listen to the first half of this podcast if you just joined us. We're glad you're here listening to us on the all-new 96.9 FM in Greenville, South Carolina. Greenville, Greer, Powdersville, that whole area.
88.3 FM all over Shelby and Spartanburg. You'll hear his story. He talked to us, relayed that to us in the first half of the show.
He's promised to tell us how he bought a prison for one dollar, but why would a kid go from India as a little orphan? How in the world you became an executive as an act of God in a major bank in North America? Right.
Which is your story. You get in front of these executives. Correct. You're donning the tie.
You're donning the Versace suit and the shoes and all the Italian leather. And here you were just a little kid in India. Right. What a work of God's grace, huh? Correct. So here's the thing, right?
In India, if you think about it, the divorce rate in India is less than 2%, right? Wow. But I was abandoned when I was six months old and somebody took care of raising me up. It was my uncle to begin with.
And then from there, the family from North Wales, Australia, Annie and Graham, they send 30, 35 dollars all the way to India so I can go to school and get educated. And so when I came here, Stu, this was the thing. I was going to buy a computer and I was taken down at a gunpoint locked up in a dark room. And I almost saw my life taken out.
Right. For 45 minutes, somebody had a gun in my head. And that's what gave me a view into prisons. And you talk about buying a prison for a dollar.
Here's the thing. Going to prisons in this country is not new. It started with Chuck Colson, Prison Fellowship. Great ministry. He got radically saved in prison. Absolutely. He started Prison Fellowship, which has brought so many to Christ and led to so many revivals inside prison to the point where the Angolan, one of the worst penitentiaries in the world, they made the casket, these inmates down in Louisiana, I believe, made this casket for Billy Graham to be buried in. Correct.
So here's the thing. When Chuck Colson started Prison Fellowship, we had 250,000 people in prison. And he's been there in all over the country doing a prison fellowship. But we went from 250,000 people in 1974 to 2.3 million people in prisons today. Ten times.
Right? It went by 450 percent. The country did not grow by 450 percent. And the reason why it went this much is because we now have the next generation of kids going into prison, generation after generation after generation. We've got to break the curse, and Tom, you're passionate about that, because all you talk about is fathering and connecting the hearts of the fathers to their sons. Allah, the last verse in the Old Testament, Malachi, chapter 5, talk about the importance of the missionaries coming to your church. Hey, they want to reach India, they want to reach Africa. We need to support them.
That's really good. But how many come to your church and say, hey, we want to reach prisoners, the jail ministries in every city? And that's what he's passionate about. What gets you going about that? Well, since God brought me into media and he was telling me I want to put you in the air force to do battle against the prince of the power of the air, one of the things he showed me is to say what's the good news.
And the good news is what God's doing. And what God's doing in Anson County, North Carolina, specifically Polkton, Anson County Corrections Center was one of the most violent prisons in all of the nation, and now they peeled off 26 acres, or 1.2 million square feet for a dollar. 1.2 million square feet. Now, if you're a real estate developer, you kind of like those numbers, don't you?
A dollar for 1.2. And there are seven states that are looking at what God is doing, all honor to zero, but really honoring God, in five and two trade school because there's seven states that are looking at that as a model, and they want to peel off properties from their prisons, and in those prisons or sections of those prisons, maybe for a dollar, maybe get another deal. Absolutely.
We'll put more trade schools in there to break the cycle. That's the whole point. Break the cycle of fatherlessness. It's a tangible way to not just give a man a fish, but to teach a man how to fish for a lifetime. But it's all done in Christ. It's all spiritual education. You're getting churches involved, pastors, chaplains. So the gospel is driving it.
Absolutely. The gospel is, number one, a priority. And the second thing that we are doing is like all the people who knows Christ is involved in this. Coach Joe Gibbs, you know, he's got his hands in it. We are putting the auto shop inside that. We have like a Southern Fabricators, amazing men of God. They're working together in making this thing happen.
Here's the things too. We have 55,000 square feet internal space. If you have to build that one today, it will cost over $40 million. $40 million product is given to you for $1.
Wow. On top of the land. In addition to the land. So the land, all of that, and you're turning it into a trade school. Practically teaching, you're recruiting these inmates' children. Absolutely. So they're showing up where once there was brutal confinement, incarceration, now there's a teacher, there's a textbook, there's a class on how to weld, how to cook. So talk about some of the practical trades you're teaching.
Absolutely. So welding is the number one that's going in. And then the second thing is the auto shop. If you take a look at Anson County, there's only one auto shop in there. And today there's over 8,000 families and 22,000 cars in that county. They have only one auto shop. Now these kids are going to get a chance to fix the cars.
Here's the thing, Sue. Most importantly, this school is free for the children who has a father or mother in prison. And how do you pay for this? The kids will go to work for four hours during the day, and the money that comes out of it will pay for the four hours of education that they're going to get. So when they go to school here, the school is free.
And also, when they come out of the school, they will have $8,000 to $10,000 in their bank account. That's something. So it's a win-win for the whole thing. How do you convince the governing authorities to sell you this for a dollar? So I'm a data guy, right?
I'm a data scientist by profession. So I look at the data, and I showed them how we were able to stop these guys from coming back into prison. And so that's what convinced the state to just change the logistics of giving a prison for $1. Tom, that's the recidivism. Recidivism. That's the magic word.
Tell everyone what that means. Recidivism rate is the rate returning back into the prisons. The national is 70% of Papa Tom, and fathers who wash their children's feet is less than 4%. So what that means is like every 1,000 inmates that doesn't come back into prison is a save of $45 million for the state.
Now, Cyril mentioned he was a data mile, so that's a skill set. And one of the things that put on God's heart when he looked at the prisons, he said, you know, the common denominator is not color of skin. It doesn't matter if you're black, Hispanic, white, doesn't matter what it is, 98% is fatherlessness in the prisons. And that's where God, that's the point of the spear to which he was dealing with.
So all his activities and energy was dealing with that one issue, and the key to overcoming that is the process of the foot washing that he was describing earlier. If we bring the fathers back into the life of these children, the crime in this nation will come down. Talk about God's heart for the fatherless. Talk about that real quick, Tom.
You've dedicated your whole ministry, you've written these children's books, you've got your podcasts. It's a connection. You see, the whole issue is connected. God is love, we know that from the scripture. God is love, God is truth. But we don't have a connection with God the father. And if we don't have a connection with God the father, we'll never find out where our calling and destiny is. So everybody's running around with their heads cut off, I forgot to speak, just to say, you know, who am I? Who am I?
Where am I going? They're completely lost. Even believers, I hate to say this, but it's true. Many believers, even if they become believed, don't have the connection back to God the father.
And if they don't, they can't find their calling and destiny. So what this starts with is God uses fathers to start the process of leading them back to God the father, which is what the ultimate connection is. And this is where the washing of the feet, how remarkable when a dad who is in prison for whatever reason, but there's this curse kind of hovering over that just is darkening over all these next generations, and the child shows up, and the dad literally takes out a basin and washes that child's feet.
What's that like to see that? Oh, every time I just see these children come in, they don't want to forgive their fathers. But when they see the act of humbleness by their fathers getting on their knees and washing their children's feet, it tears them down.
They cannot even explain how the Holy Spirit falls on them. Yeah, and that led to the making of the movie. And we're out of time in this segment. When we come back, we'll talk about this movie, the name of the movie. Break the Cycle. Break the Cycle, and people can learn how to learn more about that movie and kind of what went into making this Christian movie and why it's so important.
Everyone should see it. We're talking about breaking the cycle. We're talking about going into prison, maybe not your fondest choice of a mission.
Let's go to the Bahamas or something for a missions trip. Hey, but we're talking about that. We're not either or. We're both and here on Truth Talk Live. We'll be back with these gentlemen right after this.
Don't touch that dial. I'm Stu Epperson. This is Truth Talk and Truth Talk Live.
You're listening to the Truth Network and truthnetwork.com. Okay, for our final segment, and this final segment is a big shout out, a big thank you to one of our partners that helps us, believes in this ministry, vinetastic.com, which is, these folks, our friends, this new beverage is made by our friends at Le Bleu Ultra Pure Bottled Water and Mighty Musconine, and they simply are passionate about health. Diabetes is going nuts. And you may not be too excited about your health, and that's fine.
Just tune out for 30 seconds and then just come right back. But if you really care about your health or if you're affected by diabetes, if you're one of the 136 million people that are either prediabetic or have diabetes, you know the battles. And really, the only thing really offered is synthetic drugs.
You know, you get those pumps, you get all kinds of issues, there's different levels and types of, you know, of diabetes. But then, you know, then the diet drinks, they have all kinds of bad stuff in them. I mean, you don't want to know what's in a spare time of these things that are in these diet drinks. So this is a beverage, it's called Vintastic. Vintastic.com is their website. And it has no sugar, no calories, no carbs, and no artificial sweeteners. And I don't know how they get all of this healthy stuff in it. I just know that they really care about people's health and well-being. And they support Christian Radio because they want all of the people listening to be healthy. So thank you, Vintastic.com, for partnering with us. Information is at their website, and they've also made available a little promo code. I think it's TRUTH.
So if you want more information and if you're interested in it, that's kind of how you get it. And be sure you thank them for partnering with us and helping us talk to Cyril, who came from India, as one of those... We know it better in our country as Compassion International World Vision. You see the Christian artists get up, or you see the radio hosts like me get up, Tom, and I say, hey, here's a kid you can spend 35 bucks a month and help them.
Help them have a chance at education, help them get the gospel, help them get nurtured by a Christian home. You were that little orphan. Absolutely. And you were in India, which has a billion plus people.
Correct. And some would care enough, and then somehow you found Jesus through that. You found education, and you became a high executive at a bank in America. Yes, sir. What a testimony. Amen.
And you share this testimony. What's the biggest reaction you get in the crowd when you share that whole thing? So people oftentimes think like, oh, I don't see these kids. I don't get to hear from them. Here I see somebody actually live through this and standing in front of me. This is what I do. People sometimes cry, sometimes just like hug me and just say like, oh, my God, this truly make a difference in people. Yeah.
Brings the reality home. Yeah, a little cub and I were at a church here in Winston-Salem. Yes, sir. And they were doing a big compassion push. And we just saw it, and we went to the little booth afterward.
We just had to help do a little part. And who knows what could be of that person? Who knows who you're going to see in heaven? Absolutely. And it's usually you're going to see that person in heaven. Right.
And they're not going to be three feet away from you in the Truth Talk world headquarters in the studio. Yes, sir. As you drove here from Charlotte, which is home to a prison that is now a school because you bought it for a dollar.
Yes, sir. So it's a prison that has got over 1.2 million square feet. And if you have to build that prison today with that 55,000 square feet, it will cost you over $40 million.
Unbelievable. But the state of North Carolina has underwrote it for a dollar. A dollar. I could almost have.
I might have a dollar on me, Tom. What do you think about that? Pretty exciting, isn't it, what he's doing? It's really exciting what God's doing through Cyril. And he couldn't be doing it without the help of God. And I know his heart.
All the glory belongs to God our Father. And he didn't show up empty handed today to the world headquarters of Truth Talk and Truth Talk Live. He brought me something. Now, it was kind of interesting because I'm whipping out a big bottle of the Mighty Muscatine juice. Yes, sir.
Which is, you know, again, our partners Mighty Muscatine, you know, Vine-tastic Le Blue. To give you, and I want to give one to you also, Tom, and you know, Papa Tom, and to thank you for bringing him here today. And you said, but I got something for you, Stuart. And you gave me this really cool wooden plaque. I'll take a picture and I'll post this picture with this plaque. But who gives someone a plaque with the Proverbs 22 6 ministry verse logo on the front? With a piece of barbed wire. How unthoughtful. What's going on here?
I've never gotten a gift like this before. So when you get like a prison like this, right? One of the things that you see very commonly in a prison is like this barbed wires or, you know, razor wires everywhere, right?
Because that's how they just like to protect these guys from staying inside. But if that's going to be torn down, here's the things too. We're taking a bulldozer, tearing down those barbed wires. When I take those barbed wires, we need to, you know, send that message to somebody. So we cut those barbed wires into small pieces and we're giving it to people so they can pray for this.
Why? Because when we turn that prison into a trade school, it's almost like going into a promised land. After Joshua went into the promised land, he had to fight 31 kingdoms. Even though we have all these things to turn that prison into a trade school, we still have to have these children protected against the spirit of abandonment, spirit of violence, spirit of, you know, the oppression and the drugs and everything. So we're asking the listeners of Truth Talk to pray for this mission. We're looking for people who can come behind and pray.
And more than that, if they're in the Monroe area in Poulton, look out for Five and Two Training Institute. It's inspired from John chapter six, five loaves of bread and two fish. And the thing is that the Bible says like a five loaves of barley bread, right?
Barley breads in those days were given to horses or people who could not make a bread out of wheat. And these kids life may be like that barley bread. They don't have their father at home.
They may not have their mom at home. But when they open their hands and show it to God, he's going to multiply and feed the 5,000. Well, that's the voice of Cyril. He's with us all the way from India. God brought him here through this adopted child ministry that now he rose to be an executive. Now he's buying prisons. He's trying to reunite fathers and sons, fathers and daughters through the miracle of washing feet.
He started his Proverbs 22 six ministries. He's made a major movie. Tom Clark is an author, a podcaster. He's been on different of our shows before, has a heart to bring fathers and sons, daughters together. He called me about in tears, and he won't let me go. He's called me five times. He sent me the movie. He says, have you watched this yet? Like, Tom, you just called me 10 minutes ago.
How am I going to watch a two-hour movie in 10 minutes? But this is something you're passionate about because this is a 1 John call. This is, you know, where 1 John says this is in our mission statement, by the way, at the Truth Network, where he says, love not in word only, but in deed and in truth. So when you start pulling out the loaves and fishes, when you start tearing down the barbed wire, when you start sending kids to school to learn and to learn about Jesus, and when you start to see these tears fall in these hugs and braces at the prison between the children and the parents, that changes everything, doesn't it, Tom?
Yes. You know, my middle name is Francis, and Francis means freedom, and I'm driven in my life for freedom. So when Jesus, when he first took up his ministry in Isaiah 61, he picked up the book of Isaiah, it's recounted in also Luke 4, when he said to set the captives free. Now, they're setting the captives free in these prisons, not only physically setting them captive free, but setting them free in their hearts because it's not just the physical nature that brings freedom because the enemy wants to put everybody in bondage, right, and have us through fear, right, and not have any freedom, and God our Father wants his children to be free, not only physically free, as I said, in the prison, but also free in our hearts, free from strongholds, free from the things that the enemy uses to put us into bondage. This is what God's doing, and he's doing it in a miraculous way, and he's doing it at the lowest level of society. It always impresses me, Jesus was born, the baby was born in a manger, right? He wasn't born in a castle or a palace, he was born in the lowest common denominator. Who did he first speak to? The shepherds, the lowest common denominator, the associate denominator.
He starts as low as low can be. There's nothing lower in the world than the prisons. These are the most unchurched people in the world, they have no generational history of being Christians, or knowing the Bible, or knowing God the Father, and that's the baseline through which God's starting to set the people free.
And they feel unloved, they feel rejected, they feel alone, they feel beaten down, and they feel like everyone's after them. And it's wild how there are prisoners more on fire for God on the inside than Christians on the outside. One of the biggest things, yes, Stu, the thing is that we've always talked about the recidivism, right, what Papa Tom talked about, right?
When the guys come out of prison, how many of them are going back into prison? What we are dealing with is a generational recidivism. This is a generational curse, and that generational curse can only be broken through the blood of Jesus Christ. Wow.
Unless we bring Christ, unless we bring the cross into the reality, there's no way we can change the life of these children. And there's, I can't think of a better way to publish and spread the word about Proverbs 22, 6, in this setting the captive free than through a movie. Absolutely. Breaking the chains. Break the cycle. Break the cycle. One day I'll get the name of that movie right. Absolutely. So Google, don't Google break the chains, break the cycle.
What a great name. Absolutely. And the thing is that, you know, when somebody watches the movie, you will know, like it takes the whole village to make the change in the life of these children.
The movie is about like five kids and how their life got changed and how they were able to go see them. So these are actual testimonies. Absolutely. It's real. It's based on the true story. Praise the Lord. Based on the true story.
And so that person that said, that was tired, they're at the concert. They said, I'm going to sponsor this kid, this little orphan kid. He looks kind of cute, little serial, whatever. They had no idea that this kid would grow up, buy a prison for a dollar. Right. And be a world changer for Jesus. And the vision for Proverbs 2 to 6 is to stop one million children from going into prison.
People ask me like, how would you go find a million kids? You know, last month we signed up a deal with a company called Vipath, which is used by the inmates. Over 700,000 inmates in the U.S. are using this tablet. And we pushed the movie.
Break the cycle. They can watch the movie there. In that tablet.
So they can see themselves. Absolutely. Okay, Mike from Dayton, 106.5 FM. Dayton and Toledo, 106.5 FM. Wonderful affiliates. You know, the Care Truth doc. Wants to know real quick how he can help.
How can he get involved? Everyone, I think everyone listening wants to know that, including me. I'm going to badger you after the show about it.
We'll probably hang around another hour or two after this talking about it. Tell us real quick how they get involved. Proverbs 2 to 6.org. That's where they can go. And there's a link everywhere for them to go into. We have like a YouTube channel. We have Facebook. Your testimony.
Testimony is there. Your final challenge to everyone out there in 10 seconds. There's a new street in town called Break the Cycle Road. It's in Anson County. An actual name of the street. An actual name of the street. It's that prison for a dollar. Yes, exactly.
Change the name of the road. And then there's a video out there of all these people. You showed me that video. I believe all these people celebrating what God's doing. 101 Break the Cycle Drive. I love it. Walk 10, not calendar. Website one more time for your ministry. Proverbs 2 to 6.org.
