Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk. A daily program powered by the Truth Network.
This is kind of a great thing and I'll tell you why. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. Okay, he's a friend, he's a pastor, Reverend Seth, and he is voting on Tuesday for Kamala Harris. And he's supposed to be sitting right here in front of me, but he had something come up, a legitimate family issue.
He couldn't be here. And so I asked him, I said, hey Reverend, are you okay with me doing the show? And you listeners have one hour to change his mind.
One hour to change his mind, or maybe you think you should vote. A pastor should vote for Kamala Harris. This is a pretty big election. Whether it's a real big election, the biggest election of your lifetime, like some are hyping it, or whether it's any election, as a believer, it is your stewardship.
It is your responsibility. It is your voice to vote. So I think we've gotten past that.
I hope we've gotten past that. If you want to take me on on that, on the importance of you voting, whether it's not a big election or is a big election, you can call me at 866-34-TRUTH. But tell this pastor, Reverend Seth, why he should or should not vote for Kamala Harris. He got one hour to change his mind.
Now I just posted this very, this tease on my IG, which for you older fuddy duddies out there, that stands for Instagram. I'm going to save it right now. Save.
Save story. And I'm going to post it on my Facebook page to encourage people to call in and tell me why this pastor should or should not vote for Kamala Harris. 866-34-TRUTH.
866-348-7884. Some ground rules. Let's be kind.
I asked this question to several people who are not voting for Kamala Harris today, and they kind of rolled their eyes. They were a little bit rough, a little bit snarky, and like, how could you be so dumb, and things like that. I just don't think that's a gracious spirit. I think as believers, we need to be gracious in how we communicate. We need to remember Galatians, speak the truth in love.
And Ephesians and Colossians are, you know, have your speech seasoned with salt, right? And so I just believe that that's really important, guys. And so that's kind of the spirit I want to have today. I do want to take as many calls as we can take, and St. Nick, you're my witness, I got a notepad right here, okay, and I'm going to write down what people say. I'm going to record, and I'll save this show, and I'll send it to my friend, and he can listen to it.
And maybe you can move him. Maybe you'll say something. And effectively, the whole conversation with Truth Talk Live is this. I'm Stu Epperson, honored to be in the chair.
We've had some amazing shows this week. And by the way, happy Reformation Day! That's exactly right.
You won't see me wearing a mask. If you do, it's going to be Martin Luther or William Tyndale or some of the great Reformers. It's Reformation Day. Thank God for those guys that stood against the institutional church that denied the Gospel, and the 95 Theses were nailed on this day 500-plus years ago that says, you know, where Martin Luther said, we stand on the Word of God, and we stand here on the Word of God. And so we're letting the Word of God be the central, the centrifugal—you like that five-dollar word—the centrifugal focus of how we communicate, how we vote, how we talk about trick-or-treat, trick-or-truth, how we talk about politics. We don't demean people because they're not in our political party.
We go above that fray. But this is a friend of mine. We've been friends for decades. He's been on the show for other things before, but he just happens to believe. He just happens to be against Trump, and he believes that Kamala is the one that deserves his vote on Tuesday. So what do you say to him?
You got one hour to change his mind. St. Nick, should we just jump on the calls? I mean, I got my piece of paper here. I'm going to write down your name.
I'm going to write down what you say. Toll-free 866-34-TRUTH, 866-348-7884. Why should this pastor not vote for Kamala Harris on Tuesday, Election Day, or why should he vote? You tell me, you call in, and we're going to talk about it, and we're going to talk about it graciously, because he's going to hear what you say.
So look, if you're going red meat anger, Nick, I mean, I'll give you the signal. We're not going to tolerate that. We're going to speak graciously, but we're going to provide a conversation, because here's the deal. Come Tuesday, our country will have a new president, either Vice President Harris or former President Trump, and so we're going to wake up Wednesday morning. Now, some folks do kind of fool around a little bit, and some ballots come in overnight, and some things change, and we know there's a lot of hokey-pokey going on.
There's a lot of trick-or-treating that's going to happen on Tuesday, sadly, but I'm hoping not. But all I'm saying is, we're going to still show up and live together, work together, and play ball together, and talk together. So the question is, can we not have dialogue? If Kamala Harris is your president after Tuesday's election, then you are bound by Scripture to pray for her. You're bound by Scripture to respect, to honor the king or the ruler, as the Scriptures indicate.
Doesn't mean you agree. Doesn't mean you won't get some high heat, because the agenda, we know what that agenda is, and we'll talk about that some on the show today, but maybe you can tell this pastor why you think he should or should not vote for Kamala. He's planning on voting for Kamala on Tuesday at Tuesday's election. Let's go to Jamal. First caller right out of the gate. All right, Jamal, you're on deck, sir. What do you say to a pastor who's planning on voting for Kamala Harris on Tuesday?
Welcome to Truth Talk Live. Yes, sir. Thank you for taking my call. Happy Reformation Day. I have to apologize.
I'm a little under the weather, so my voice may be a little off, and I will be nice. So, for one, I think this pastor respectfully should not vote for Kamala Harris. One, because she believes in abortion on demand.
What does that mean? That means abortion for all times, all trimesters, early and late. If you don't believe that, just look at her renovate's record. Also, she has been deemed border czar when she was vice president.
She had one job as vice president, did not do it, and not only did she not fail at that job, but she had an outpouring, and that could be seen as deliberate. All you had to do was enforce the laws we already had. Like what she said about, well, I'm going to fix the border. Well, she could have fixed the border. She was the border czar. She could have gone down there and said no more. No one can come in here illegally ever again, but we will allow for legal immigration. We will allow for folks to go through Ellis Island like all of our ancestors did, but she never did anything about that, but suddenly she's talking about that.
So you're saying she didn't get it done based on performance and based on past record? Well, yeah, past record, and also I hear the news. Do I need to go or wrap up real quick? Wrap up real quick.
Well, come back. Can you hang on? Just hang on. I got more callers calling in.
The number toll-free nationwide is 866-34-TRUTH, 866-348-7884. What do you say to a pastor who's planning on voting for Harris Waltz on Tuesday? You have one hour less than that now to change his mind. Call us back.
We got a break, and we'll be right back at it. You're listening to the Truth Network and truthnetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. You now have 40 minutes to change this pastor's mind.
If you disagree with him, he's planning on voting the Harris Waltz ticket for president the election's Tuesday. It's also Reformation Day. Happy Reformation Day. Tell someone about Jesus today. This is all those gospel tracts you have piled up. Pass them out when they come to your door. Give a little candy, too, and use it as an opportunity. What a great opportunity to share the gospel with folks, and what a great opportunity today to talk from a biblical perspective in a gracious way about this election. And I have a friend who's very gracious. He's been friends for a couple decades. He is in the Kamala Harris Waltz camp.
He's voting for on Tuesday, and you got 40 minutes to change his mind. Jamal, let's jump back with your call. The lines are getting full. I do have a line open if you want to grab it at toll-free 866-34-TRUTH.
Shorthand on that is 866-348-7884. I'm Stu Epperson, and like you, I'm annoyed, silly, from all the TV ads, all the whoppers and the lies being told, all the disparaging attack ads. I'm annoyed at all the people suddenly finding religion just to get, you know, becoming fake Christians so they can get you guys, they think you're suckers and they're going to get you to vote for them, but they are anti-God and Christless, and it's pretty rampant. So I'm kind of tired of that, so that's why I like this show, because we can talk about it. And we can talk about it with truth and with grace. We need a lot more of that today, don't we? So you can call us at 866-34-TRUTH.
Jamal, now finish your thought. Your first point was, your word to this pastor is, look at her performance, look at what she didn't do, all the things she's claiming she will do. Why didn't she do it the last four years? What's your second point, sir? Right, exactly.
If she was going to do it, she should have done it. Also, it stands on abortion. She has come against pregnancy centers, her and Senator Elizabeth Warren, the non-support of Israel, the slow walking of supplies, and then when Benjamin, sorry, President, I think he's the President, anyway, Benjamin Netanyahu came over here to speak, and she went to a sorority engagement rather than meeting him. That's a big slight against Benjamin Netanyahu. Also, we're talking about the economy, how we haven't had the worst inflation in years.
Some people say it's good for some, but costs of goods are up, costs of materials are up. So to sit here and say that, and also just like you said earlier, just to make this point again, her lack of experience ended up going to hand her the keys to the free world and her foreign policy, domestic policy, and all that. Her stance on DEI, CRT.
Right. Well, you would think, you would think lack of experience, you think of track record. If you look at how San Francisco is, used to be the greatest city in America, now it's got people doping up and defecating on the streets. That's a city that she ruled the roost at, as the public defender, as the DA, and as a powerful member of the Senate. And yet, it's awful what's happened there.
And you think that if she can't fix that, so this goes to your argument about tracker. Okay, this is being recorded, Jamal. Thanks for your call, my friend. Thank you, sir. All right, let's go to another call, 866-348-7884.
My pastor friend is voting for Kamala Harris, unless you change his mind, and you got just over a half hour to do it. Steve from Ohio, 106.5 FM. You're on Truth Talk Live with Stu. Jump on in here. Hey, Stu. First thing, I'll make it as quick as I can.
Yes, sir. First thing, voting. The other day on your program, somebody gave out some numbers, 40% of Christians do not vote. And I want those people that say that they're born-again Christ followers in our churches across America to think about something. Throughout the history of our nation, all those young men, teenagers oftentimes, sometimes they were drafted, oftentimes they volunteered. They went to war for fight for somebody's freedom. And they oftentimes died a lonely death in a foreign land for other people. What did they leave behind?
Their girlfriends, their families, their favorite watering holes, the beautiful sunsets they had, oftentimes wonderful times on the farm. For what? So people, did they choose not to vote? That's a shameful thing. And who you're voting for? Kamala Harris has absolutely nothing to offer. If you say, I don't like Trump. He's vulgar. He's got a big mouth. He's arrogant.
I would agree with that. How does Harris trump him in anything? She doesn't even have a plan. Her own party did not even vote her in.
So to vote for Kamala Harris, because you don't like Donald Trump, who's a superior leader, just look at what he did. Look at where our gas prices was. Look what our border was like. Look what world peace was like. That's true. He didn't start, he didn't have, he didn't start any wars. He didn't have, we had record low gas prices.
The economy was rolling right along. And of course, some folks are like, well, we hate those mean tweets. We hate a guy that is vulgar and all that. I'm not sure that she's any less vulgar.
Honestly, when you start looking at her track record, you look at what she believes, you look at her plans and what the current administration has done to sexualize, you mentioned the military, those guys that are fighting for us, they're trying to force the DEI, the sexualization, the transgender agenda, right down in our military. They're more concerned about that stuff in the military than bolstering and boosting our troops. So all some good points. I'm recording this, Steve.
I wrote down what you said. He's passionate. One more thing. We are, we got to remember, we are not voting for a savior. We already have one. There was only one perfect person.
That's Jesus Christ. And we have to lower our standards because we're just voting for a mere man. They're all flawed. Everyone on the ballot is flawed, up and down all the tickets. The interesting thing about that point is we need to vote, we need to be active, we need to voice our opinions, have good conversations like we're having right here, right now.
But believers, you don't need to deify the whole process. We need to remember who's king and who's Lord, and it ain't anyone on that ticket. No matter what happens Tuesday, Jesus is still on his throne. That's an important thing to remember, but it doesn't negate your duty, Christian, to vote.
Your privilege to vote in the bloodshed on battlefields across this world to allow you the privilege to vote. So get out and vote, and Steve, God bless you. Thanks for your call. Appreciate your word.
Okay, I wrote this down. My page is getting full here. We're going to go to Victoria, caller from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Listen to us on 97.7 FM, AM 830, our flagship. By the way, welcome to all of our listeners in Raleigh on AM 1090.
AM 1090 now carrying Truth Talk Live, WTSB 105.5 FM in Johnson County. Victoria, you're on the show. Welcome. Hi.
Thank you for allowing me to speak. And what I would say, what I have been saying, number one, you know, throughout this whole election season, is which platform, because I don't vote on personality. I vote on platform. And which platform begs the question, has God said everything that they do is anti the Word of God?
Okay, how so now? You're saying, wait, who are you saying is anti the Word of God? Which candidate? The Democratic Party, Kamala Harris. Okay, okay, because bear in mind, this show today, my pastor friend is planning on voting for her, so I want you to tell me why you think that when we come back, and we'll take other calls.
If you think he should vote for Kamala Harris, you can call us back. Listen on the app to Truth Talk Live if your local station moves to another great program. Thanks for tuning in, everyone.
We'll be right back. The toll-free number is 866-34-TRUTH. The election is right around the corner.
You're listening to the Truth Network and truthnetwork.com. Okay, the lines are almost loaded. I'm Stu Epperson, and one of my pastor buddies is voting for Kamala Harris Tuesday. You have 30 minutes to change his mind. 866-34-TRUTH.
Maybe say, Stu, you're all wet. How dare you not vote for Kamala? I mean, my brother-in-law went to an event in our hometown at a church where they basically slammed anyone that leans to the right, and they're making all these names up like Christian nationalism, and it's basically, honestly, sadly, it's very racist, you know? Here's another one for you.
Ready for this anomaly? The state of North Carolina has two candidates. One candidate is pro-abortion to the hilt. The other candidate is pro-life.
One candidate is for allowing men in women's locker rooms. He probably would say he's not for that, but he will not defend. He will not pass law to stop that. The other candidate is not. But the other candidate, who's conservative, is African-American. And so we have African-Americans saying, vote for Kamala Harris, our first ever black president. But in North Carolina, the same people that I say, well then vote for, vote for Mark Robinson for governor. And they say, oh no, we couldn't vote for him. Well, he's, he's, well that's racist, because he's, he's the first, imagine a black governor in a former slavery state.
Would that not be a beautiful thing? Tell me I'm all wet on that. Tell me where I'm wrong. 86634 Truth. And the only thing most people know about Mark Robinson is what the other side has, they've grabbed all of the sound bites of him speaking, and they've, they've pretty much slandered him. It's been a slander campaign for six months, and they're using, they're getting all this kind of out-of-town money to do it.
Kind of sad. But this hour long, we're talking to my pastor friend who's voting for Kamala Harris, and probably not for Mark Robinson, which is confusing. But you have 30 minutes, now you have 27 minutes to change his mind, because the talk show host can't stop talking. So I'm going to stop talking and bring Victoria back. Victoria, you made a point or two there before the break about, but you said, you said that the Kamala Harris walls ticket is not, doesn't hold anything biblical. Speak to that. Why, why, what's your point? What do you say to this pastor?
Because he's planning on going there and punching the ticket for, for that candidate in that party. Okay, so even though, you know, the pushback that I've gotten, well, we're not voting, this is not a theocracy. However, your life as a follower of Jesus Christ should be a theocracy. Every decision that you make should line up with the Word of God.
Every decision. Okay. And I'm not saying that the total platform on the Republican side, but when you line everything up, you're talking about, you know, the Democratic Party, they, they can't even say what a woman is. Even biology speaks to what a woman is versus a man.
Now that's interesting. Yeah. Now I'm glad you said that, because here you have these people that are saying, well, we're fighting, you know, you have these, these, these politicians on the left saying, well, we're fighting for the rights of women. Well, then why don't you define a woman? Why don't you tell me what a woman is?
And if I ask you that question, it gets, it becomes crickets, because you don't even know what a woman is, and yet you're protecting their rights. I don't think so. I think that's, I think you're spot on with that, Victoria.
I'm sorry to get, I got a little accelerated, a little bit, a little bit hyped up there from that, but that's okay. And I know you have other callers. I just want to make one point about the comment that you just made. How can they not vote for, uh, Robinson? Yeah. You know, I was a poll greeter and I was asking individuals as they were coming up, I said, you know, vote policy, not personality. Do you know the policy that the person that you're voting for has? I can tell you, Stu, 99.9% of the time they did not know.
Yeah. They have no idea that that person wants men in our girls' locker rooms. That person is absolutely, uh, is sexualizing our kids. They literally want to do mutilations of our five-year-olds who haven't even figured out who they are yet. I mean, they're just kind of there and, and without any parental consent, this is their agenda. And in a lot of folks don't, don't know, but that's why we do shows like this, but we kind of do it in a gracious way. We got to quit trying to, you know, talk over people and yell at people or demean people or say, Hey, you're a dummy. You know, it's all of us need to grow up in different ways. Right.
But you have to educate them. But the, but the sad reality is this. I had a man say, I'm a Democrat. I'm going to vote Democrat and I don't care. Yeah. Which is if you're a believer, you should care because your, your standard is no longer party line or how you've always voted or what your race is.
Your standard is God's word. And Victoria, I'm glad you brought that up. Thanks for calling in. Let's go. Let's go to Raleigh and talk to David. Listen to us on AM1090 105.5 FM, our new Truth Talk affiliate there in the Triangle area. Of course, a lot of folks are listening to us on the app. If you download the free Truth Network radio app, download it, listen 24-7 anywhere you are in the world. David, you're on Truth Talk Live with Stu.
I got a pastor friend. He's, he's voting for Kamala Harris on Tuesday, and we only have about 23 minutes to change his mind. You're next. Well, my thought is President Trump hired two investigating firms to investigate the 2020 election.
Yeah. But yet he told the American people that he in fact, that was stolen. That is a lie. He's trying to overturn the will of the people based on a lie. Well, okay, I don't want to get deep on that. There was, there was election, there was definitely, there was definitely election fraud.
I don't want to make this a whole platform about that. There was definitely election fraud, and there were, they have documentation, satellite images of ballots being trashed and thrown away and shipped in the middle of the night. So there's a lot of lawsuits. There's a lot of people that could come on that are smarter than you and me to say he didn't lie. Others say he did. But get to the point of Christian biblical, because let me tell you something. Well, let me, let me, let me make your point for you. Trump has, Trump is, is not a, Trump is a vulgar, Trump is a human being that's flawed. Both candidates are flawed. Get to the issue. Go ahead.
Please. I feel that he knew that he lost. He had all the recounts, everything he had to do, and, and then, and he blames Nancy Pelosi, but as a chief, uh, commander in chief, he had the right when he saw the violence to call in.
And he did, and he was denied those troops because the speaker of the house has the authority to bring those troops in. Yeah. Well, he tried to, he tried to, he's got all the documentation, but David, David, can we, okay. Okay. There's, there's, there's, there's two, okay.
There's two people, there's two different camps on that. Okay. Let's move on. Let's go.
Let's, let's focus right here. Cause there's a lot of folks that disagree with you. Okay. You could not get a job.
Could you have your job if you lost a sexual assault case? Here's my question. Here's my question. Okay.
Well that's, but that's not proven. Now let's deal with this. David, David, let me finish. Let me finish. I don't want to have to mute you.
So just listen. We're not putting Donald Trump on trial here. We're not even putting Kamala Harris on trial here. We're talking about who should a Christian vote for based on the platform, based on the, based on the, based on the platforms. Which platform is more closer to the Bible?
Protecting life, protecting the unborn, protecting freedom. They're both flawed. Gender dysphoria is a mental illness, and psychologists say the best thing to do is to allow someone to transition after a year of treatment. Well psychologists also say that 85% of those conditions work themselves out after you're 15. And yet one of the parties is pushing hard to do mutilations of our kids without parental consent. Now don't you think a parent should, don't you think a teacher should let a parent know, David?
Should a, should a parent be involved in that decision? Well no, cause Kamala Harris doesn't agree with you. She doesn't think a parent should be involved in that decision of an eight-year-old. Yeah, she never said that. That's her legislation that she supported. That's what their, that's their whole, go read their platform, David.
You know what? She's not perfect. She's not perfect. Neither one is perfect. But which one is closer to the Word of God? Which one is closer to the Word of God, David? Neither one is perfect. Which one is closer to the Word of God? Harris is closer.
Harris is closer. Okay, so killing the unborn, the unprotected life, the nine-month, the nine-month-old baby. Protecting a woman from being killed and losing her life. That's, that's, that's not what's going on here, sadly. That's not what's going on. Do your homework on that. Allowing, allowing illegal aliens, allowing 20 million, 15 to 20 million into our country illegally.
You're saying that's, that's biblical. Fentanyl, cartels, 300,000, David, 300,000 children. David, David, 300, yes it is, 300,000 children have been trafficked illegally. We have border agents. We have border agents. Yeah, and they're, and they've flooded in.
Go, go, they've flooded in 10 to 15 million, at least. No, he, he actually had the border, he actually had the border under control. Trump also raped a girl. No, he didn't. See, look, I'm not, look, I'm not going to go through the whole bios of Trump and Kamala here, David, but I am going to say, I'm going to say this.
They are absolutely, oh, we really do care. They're both flawed. Let me, okay, let's go ahead, okay, go ahead and mute David.
Just go ahead and mute him. David, they're both flawed. I'm not going to sit here and defend either one of them. They both got big issues, okay, and we just start, we could just be here all day. But the question is, is how does a believer vote, and who is closer to biblical standards? And that's, that's what we're trying to talk about here.
And are we voting for a personality who's flawed, or are we voting for a platform? And Glenda's going to weigh in, and you're going to weigh in too, friends. 866-348-7884. Toll-free 866-344-TRUTH. When we come back, we've got 15 minutes to change his mind, or maybe you're like David, and you think he should vote for Kamala.
David said that Kamala is closer to the Bible's view. Do you agree with him? Call us and let us know why or why not. Toll-free 866-344-TRUTH. Hang on. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Okay, welcome back. I'm trying to keep a cool head in here. David, God bless you.
I love you. I just, you can't, you know, both candidates, if you just go on their history, are indefensible, okay? You talk about how Kamala was a homewrecker when she, when she, you know, ruined the home of Willie Brown, the mayor of San Francisco, and his family's not too happy. You can go on all that stuff, but at the end of the day, what have they done in their political career?
And who's closer? Because both candidates are flawed. Trump is indefensible. I'm not going to go through all this court case, all this stuff he said. He said horrible things, okay?
I'm the first person to tell you that, okay? And this is for my friend Reverend Seth, who's listening, and God bless you, and he couldn't be here. He was supposed to sit right across from me, and we have now eight minutes to change his mind.
He's planning on voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz on Tuesday, election day. I'm Stu Everson. Also, happy Reformation Day, by the way. And so, I've got some callers on the line. If you want to phone in, we can grab a line.
We've got one open at toll-free 866-34-TRUTH, 866-348-7884. David is doing what a lot of folks do, whether it's on the right or the left. They just go after the candidate.
They just slander, slander, slander. Let me just say this, okay? Is there grace?
Is there people that can turn over a new leaf? If the Apostle Paul was running for president, let me tell you what you would see all over North Carolina and Ohio and Utah and everywhere they hear this show. Here's what you would see. You would see ads of the victims' families, of those he murdered, the Christians he murdered, their families before he got saved.
You'd see those people up. This guy was awful. He rained down fire, and he had our family stoned.
They'd have Stephen's family paraded on TV. This guy's awful. How could you vote for a murderer for president or for governor or for whatever? See? So, you know, you just have to hope.
You have to vote for... it's really a lesser of two evils or less evil of those two, because they both have real big problems. And that's kind of what we're talking about today, and we're trying to have a good cogent conversation. And David just kind of came at me with all these things, these diatribes, and he's... but he believes... he's convinced that Kamala is... her views are biblical on what she is for doing to the unborn, what she's for in mainstreaming the transgender agenda, which by the way, some of the bills she's for passing will make it a hate speech to speak out against that. Did you know that? Did you know about all the other things that she's for?
Did you know about the future capital gains tax on unrealized capital gains you've never even had before, and how that will bankrupt our economy? And he says there's no border crisis. That is a biblical issue, because it's the law, friends. Well, the Bible doesn't speak about the illegal aimer.
Oh, yes it does. It speaks about the law. The laws of our land is you come here legally. And if we throw that one out, then let's... who cares about speeding? Who cares if it says 35?
I'm not going 35, because I don't like that law. So this is the rule of law that is the foundation of our whole country, and she has not done anything to enforce that in the border. But they're talking tough now that they're running for Congress. They're talking about God, or they're running for office.
They're talking about God a lot, and going popping in churches. And my pastor, friends, planning on voting for, and maybe you are with David, and you agree that she's the one should be voted for. Toll free 866-348-7884, 866-34-TRUTH. We just have a few minutes. We have nine minutes now to change his mind, or you may want to agree with him. And I'm going to record this, make this a podcast. St. Nick is a brilliant producer. Thank you, St. Nick, for putting up with us today. And I'm going to talk at the end about this fascism attack, because this is a real important thing, friends.
What I'm going to share with you is extremely important, so stay tuned. That'll be in the final minute. But Glenda's been hanging on forever. Dayton, Ohio, 106.5 FM.
Blasting all over Dayton and Greenville, and almost to Cincinnati, and on into Indiana. Glenda, thanks for hanging on. What do you say to this pastor who's planning on voting for Harris Waltz in on Tuesday? Well, very compassionately and in love, I would speak to not just him, but all pastors and all Christians from a voting standpoint that we know that the Bible says that we will stand judgment in front of Christ one day.
And whether that's at the Bema Seat or that's at the Great White Throne Judgment, either way, we're going to give an account for what we did. And the Bible says that we will be rewarded according to our works. And if we vote in a way that goes against God's law, we are going to have to face him on Judgment Day and give an account for that. And that will affect not just the few years that we live on earth and will soon pass away, but that's going to affect our entire eternity and our relationship with him. And I would just ask your pastor friend and all Christians to seriously consider that.
And that's not saying that Trump is some Christian, because I'm not saying he is at all. And that's not saying that a vote for—but what you're saying there, I believe, if I'm not misunderstanding you, is at least vote for the person that's going to at least help save more lives, that at least is going to protect the most vulnerable, the weakest humans on our planet are the unborn. And they have a heartbeat, and they feel pain as early as three and a half weeks. And so who's going to help them? The party that has an abortion clinic, an abortion truck set out outside their convention that celebrates it, that has their advocates saying, I love abortion, or the party that's at least trying to save some lives.
And the only attack that's going against the right from the left is, oh, you're not protecting women. Well, just go ask Tim Tebow's mom, because the doctor told Tim Tebow's mom, ma'am, you have an abortion. This baby's going to kill you. She said, I'm trusting God. She had that baby.
He went on to win a Heisman. He's led thousands to Christ, stories after story. There are children that have been conceived in rape that have become great evangelists and made a big difference. And so, Glenda, thanks for your call.
I added some to it, but I'm writing down what you said. Let's go to Brenda, another Ohio caller. If you want to jump in here, we only have five minutes to give a word to this pastor, 866-348-7884. Brenda, you're on the air.
Thank you. My question would be, would you vote for someone that could actually see Jesus doing an abortion on someone? That is, I can't imagine voting for someone that would think that that would be okay.
I would never think that Jesus would do something like that, so why would we vote for someone that would? Yeah, that's something. And there's all these other attacks. They're saying, well, Christians don't care about the baby once it's born and the mom. Well, yes, they do. Christians lead the charge in foster care. Christians lead the charge in adoption agencies.
Christians lead the charge in all that stuff. And by the way, a lot of that stuff, the rights of those folks and the rights of our crisis pregnancy centers. In California, let me tell you who one of the biggest enemies of crisis pregnancy centers was, suing them, trying to take away their taxes, and all this. Kamala Harris. Go look it up.
Yeah, it's ridiculous. By the way, there's a great video of an abortion doctor who stopped cold turkey doing abortions. He had done hundreds of abortions. He went in, he did them, he made a lot of money, and because he and his wife couldn't have a baby, then they adopted. And then she got pregnant and did have a baby, and one day he went in to perform a standard abortion, and he got sick to his stomach.
He was revolted by it, because once he realized, man, this is a precious child of God, and he stopped doing it cold turkey. And Brendan, I appreciate your call. Thank you so much. Thank you.
God bless you. 866-34-TRUTH. I could take one more call if it's quick. Toll free 866-348-7884. I'm Stu Everson.
This is Truth Talk Live. And what can I do about it? What can little old me do about it? Well, little old me, you can go vote.
And you cannot vote for personality and who's clever and whose ad is more slanderous and makes the other guy look worse. Vote your faith. There's a really cool website I want to tell you about. It's basically votyourfaith.net. And it's a great site, and it has what the Bible says about all these issues. I really encourage you to spend some time there. Pastors, tell your listeners, tell your congregants, your parishioners to go to votyourfaith.net.
St. Nick, when we make this a podcast, maybe we can put that little website up there, votyourfaith.net, so folks can go, don't take my word on it. Don't take the caller's words on it. And we did have different sides presented today. Take God's word on it.
What does God say about life? Now let's make this one more thing. There are two other platforms on the ticket that aren't talked about. There's socialism, communism, and there's free market capitalism. And, you know, the left is the champion of socialism and communism. And sadly, every city that they have run from Chicago to Maryland to San Francisco, they're in the toilet.
Education's horrible. And they keep repeating the cycle. Why can't they get crime out of those cities where they run those cities? Because they have a socialist agenda which is destructive of free market capitalism. On the other hand, you have free market capitalism. Now, they're accusing the right of locking up all their political opponents if they get elected and all that stuff.
Let me tell you something. Free market capitalists are not fascist. Free market capitalists do not lock up their opponents, and they will not burn your business down.
Why? Because they want to make money on you. And I'm not for greedy, money-mongering, you know, free market capitalists, but at the end of the day, a capitalist does not want to destroy your business, and he doesn't want to lock up his opponents. Because, and by the way, when Trump was in office for four years, how many of his opponents did he lock up?
How many businesses did he shut down? No, the free market capitalist in 300 years has welcomed all kinds of religious minorities, welcomed all kinds of folks, even with completely different viewpoints, because they want to make money on them. They want the economy to grow because that's the basis of capitalism. The basis of socialism and communism, every communist, you go look it up. You have on one side free market capitalism, which has never locked up opponents and done all that nonsense they're accused of, and they've never been fascist, okay? On the other side, every communist, every time, just talked to Mao, talked to Stalin, they have executed over 120 million. Just go look at history.
Share this with your young people. Communist regimes, Castro, Chavez, all over the, you know, I have breakfast with Albert, the Albanian. He owns a breakfast place. I said, hey, what do you think of the two sides? He says, I'm for the capitalist because I saw what socialism and communism did. It destroyed my country, and that's why I'm here in America, and I don't want that to happen on America.
Just on those basis, and by the way, at the heart of communism and socialism, Karl Marx's theory is atheism and anti-God, and Marx taught his opponents to accuse their opponent of everything they're doing, which is another interesting insight. Go to this website, voteyourfaith.net. Hey, everyone.
Stu Everson. What a show today, and I got worked up. I told myself before the show, Lord, help me.
I asked the Lord, help me not to get too fired up, and then there you heard it. But I really do value the opinions, even the caller that disagreed, and I appreciate everyone weighing in. I hope you'll share this podcast that our awesome producer St. Nick here has made available for everyone on this special Reformation Day edition, pre-election edition of Truth Talk Live, and I hope that folks will put their thinking hat on and put their lenses of discernment. Pray for discernment as you look at what's at stake in this election, and yes, it's important.
All of them are, but you know what? Everyone is a believer, has a stewardship, and I really hope that you will vote and encourage other folks to vote. My daughter, a little cub, Faith, she's voting in her first election, and she's so excited about that, and so we've been working with her on getting over to the polls and all that, getting home from taking a break from college and coming home to vote. But I just want to say back to the whole, all the people are attacking back and forth, and the personal attacks are very unfortunate, but I think we've got to move past the personalities to the platforms, and to the platforms and past performance. And I'm glad that the Trump administration did all they did for our economy. I'm glad they didn't lock up any of their opponents when they were president.
I'm glad they didn't start any wars when they were running the White House. I'm not glad about the vulgar stuff, and I'm not glad about that he hadn't been the best role model. He's been a little bit out of control, you know, verbally.
He gets on these tangents, and it causes people to cringe. But at least I'm glad that he has defended the life of the unborn, and I'm glad that he's respected the genders, male and female, just like the Bible says. And I'm glad he's been a friend of free speech, programs like this, where we can actually have this conversation. And we're not written up and charged with a felony for hate crimes, which is what some of the legislation that the left has been pushing, by the way. That's no secret. So anyway, it's good to have these conversations, and have a conversation like this with people that you don't agree with. What's important about that? Because they are a soul created in the image of God, and just because they're so far right, and you're so far left, or they're so far left, you're so far right, find things you can agree with them on, and at least have that conversation.
And I hope you'll share this with a whole lot of those folks. And when you start calling people fascist, you start calling people Nazi and Hitler, those kind of things, those are these ad-hominant attacks that are just extremely unfortunate. And it's unfortunate because when people don't remember what Hitler did, and how evil it was, and he executed ruthlessly six million Jews, okay? But someone who was like Hitler, who hated the Jews, is not going to go and make Jerusalem the capital of Israel like Donald Trump did. He's been a great friend of the Jews. And again, I'm not trying to defend the bad stuff he said, and the other things, okay?
I'm not an apologetic for him. But his platform is pro-Israel, and that's encouraging. And so it's anything but fascism. And the other thing is, this is a common sense thing, but like a fascist doesn't want your business to succeed, and a fascist wants to control all of your life, and a fascist will put his political opponents, or her political opponents, in jail. But no free market capitalist has done that in the history of our country. That's what's made our country great.
You can go start a business. You can go worship where you want to worship, and you can thrive in a free market economy. And that's the antithesis of fascism. On the other side, on the left, their platform is very much socialistic. In fact, Bernie Sanders was upset that Kamala and the others that were running on the ticket weren't more socialist. And socialism leads to communism. And look at their track record. There's actually been more bloodshed in the name of communism and socialism than in any religion.
In that wild, go look it up. Don't take my word for it. But in what they do, what socialists and ultimately communists do, they do lock up their opponents. And yes, they do go in, and they will shut your business down. Because they don't really care about the free market capitalism and the growth of an economy. They do everything they can to put all the control.
And just remember this. All these celebrities that are coming out and supporting the left, let me tell you, they're not going to be standing. They're so wealthy. They're wealthy actors, actresses.
They're wealthy musicians. Those folks are never going to stand in a bread line for three hours for their family, should our country go down the whole road of communism. They're not going to.
Now you and I, on the other hand, we very well may do that. So just go ask a Romanian, ask a Venezuelan, ask a Russian, ask an Albanian, ask a Cuban. Ask our friends in Miami that fled the communist regime of Cuba and how that destroyed that economy. Communism, socialism has destroyed and devastated every economy it's ever been in. I'm going long here, but these are the worldviews at stake. This is really a worldview issue in this upcoming election.
It's just something to continue to weigh out. Look at the history of socialism, communism. Look at the history of free market capitalism. And by the way, Christianity has thrived in free market capitalism because it gives us the freedom of religion to spread the word of God all over the world. But if Christians don't wake up and get involved, then they could lose that freedom.
And guess what? Where Christians have lost that freedom and been in communism, the church has grown because of the persecution. So we're praying. We're not praying that to happen, but our faith doesn't change. Our Savior doesn't change.
And the King, the monarch, we serve as King Jesus, not the person that sits in the White House. And that's real important to remember in all of this conversation. Thanks so much for listening. Thank you to all the callers. Please like and share this and share this podcast with everyone you go. I'm going to send this to my pastor friend, and I can't wait for him to listen.
And then he's going to call and let me know what he thinks. But at least it'll get some conversations going. And at least it'll, you know, if we were too over the top this way or that way, at least it'll show someone how not to talk about it, right? So, but honored to have all of our listeners to the Truth Network, all of our affiliates brave enough to carry this program. And we're just honored to be able to speak the truth, and we are trying our darndest to speak the truth in love, to honor King Jesus in all that we say, all we do, and even in how we vote. And that website one more time is voteyourfaith.com.
I'm going to look it up to make sure I said it right. Yeah, voteyourfaith.net. I'm sorry, .net.
Just go there. It'll show you a clear biblical kind of fact sheet you can download and print even of what the different candidates stand for. Voteyourfaith.net. Something good maybe to share at church. Pastors, feel free to speak out about this, because you're in a role where you have an opportunity to be a biblical influence in this area. And we're grateful for all of our pastors. And we're grateful for all of you who listen truthnetwork.com down to the free Truth app, and you can listen 24-7 to your favorite Truth station and be encouraged that way as well. Thank you all so much. God bless you. And by all means, get out and vote. Another program powered by the Truth Network.
