The following program is recorded content created by the Truth Network. You're opening up Richard Childress Racing, this amazing spot, one of the top race teams, crews in the whole world for NASCAR. You're inviting a bunch of men out to your place and they're not going to be racing, they're going to be praising God. What's going on, sir?
Well, yeah, that's exactly right. This will be the second time we've done it there. Richard's allowed us to use our banquet facility, which will hold about 1,200 people and to bring some people to know God. Our deal that we're doing is Hometown Men's Fellowship. It's on October 15th. If you'll just go Google Hometown Men's Fellowship, you'll see it. It's free.
Come out and we're going to talk about what men are supposed to be doing in this world and what our role is and getting on your knees first thing in the morning and praying and reading your Bible and then allowing the Holy Spirit to guide. It's an awesome event. It was incredible last year. We've already got quite a few people signed up for it and we're looking for as many as want to come.
Like I said, it's free. We can't wait until next Tuesday. Okay, now let me see if I can't get the wax out of my ears. You're a NASCAR leader. You've been in NASCAR for a long time. You've got sons that are decorated race car drivers. You've got Michael McDowell, who I believe won the Daytona 500 sometime. He's a championship driver.
You've got amazing worship. Did you say it's $500 a head? I'm trying to understand what you said there for the price. What did you say the price was again?
I'm not hearing you right, I don't think. It's free. It's free. Hometown Foundation is putting it on and it's free. We want everybody to come out. You're going to get a book too.
First Hour for Men and Mark Cook, the author of the book, is going to be there. He is a dear friend of mine and that book is what got me into my Bible. It got me on my knees every morning and I don't leave the house without doing it.
It's my time with God and the Holy Spirit before I even think about hitting the door. Wow. Now, Mike Dillon, you think about NASCAR. You think about all these sponsors, all these race cars. You think about hundreds of thousands, millions of people watching by radio and TV.
You think it's just about money and swapping pain and cussing and beating them up and knocking the other guy out. Tell our listeners about your testimony a little bit. Who is Mike Dillon and how has Jesus changed your life and what in the world are you doing opening up a race car place, a big race car shop to a bunch of men to come in and worship the Lord? Tell us your story, sir. My grandmother, I knew God ever since I was born. She was praying for me early. I went to Salem Baptist School for kindergarten and first grade, memorized the 23rd Psalm early in first grade and then was saved when I was 17 years old. I was in and out of church just like a lot of people are, a lot of Christians are. But I had a lot of knowledge and a lot of knowing of what Jesus Christ was my Savior, knew that, but hadn't given it all to him and allowed him to lead.
You'll hear more about it if you come out on the 15th, but that's the thing. Solomon says that everything's meaningless. You can read that, but until you're in the Bible and you know it, everything is meaningless without Jesus Christ as your Savior and your God. It's an awesome thing that we all have an opportunity to have a relationship with God in this way. I just want men to understand what their role is as the man, the head of the household, and just want to come out and love each other.
Yeah, I love it. Thank you for sharing on this show. This is Truth Talk. I'm Stu Epperson, Mike Dillon, NASCAR leader, major star. His family's been involved, decorated team.
They've won all kinds of races from Talladega to Richmond to the Daytona 500. God's blessed his team and you're blessing a bunch of men and everyone keeps looking around saying, okay, what's the hook here? What's the catch? You're saying we want you to know Jesus like we do, right? You're just trying to be a blessing.
That's exactly right. There's no hook. Jesus Christ is the hook.
The hook is at the end of the pole and it's called fishing for men, right? We want to bring people to Jesus. That's what you're doing, man. What a blessing. Thank you for doing this. And this book, by the way, the first hour, I mean, this is setting you guys on fire, you know, and you're going to give a copy to everybody that comes.
I've had more people text me and say thank you. Of course, I say, well, thank Mike Dillon because God put this heavy on your heart. And I guess anyone that shows up on Tuesday night, October 15th, 2024, the year of our Lord, is going to get a copy of this book and some other goodies, right? Yeah, they're going to get a bottle of water and a copy of this book and they're going to hear some really good testimonies. Michael McDowell is going to speak. His story is awesome. He's a godly man. And it's going to be a great night. We've got a lot of good people coming out.
So we're wanting everybody to show up, as many as we can get in that building. That's amazing. Well, look, I had to catch you. Either you're on a helicopter somewhere or doing something. You guys have done a ton for our friends in Western North Carolina.
You're taking bottled waters and medicine. I just love what you're doing. And Richard Payne, your whole group has just been a huge blessing man to me and to the Truth Network. We're thankful for all the people who have helped. I mean, a lot of folks, Dario, other friends have gotten involved to say, hey, we want to help this thing.
They want to see men come to Christ, don't they? Yeah. Big thanks for Dario's.
Rush LaRue, Jeff Speaks, those guys, just a question Andy Bowersock asked, and they jumped on board. And if you want the best milkshake, I get to go through Thomasville to that Dario's. But they're all there. He's got several of them. There's one in Winston. They're everywhere. But best milkshake in town and hot dog.
I mean, I love to stop there. So go to Dario's and get you one of those and tell them thanks for doing this. They also have Bible study for men there, every one of their locations on Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock. I need to go to that.
I'm glad you told me. I need to attend that sometime. They probably call it Wednesday in the Word, don't they?
I bet they do. I believe a guy with your last name leads one of them. That's probably identity, Seth. You've got to watch out for those people posing as Christian radio guys leading Bible studies, man. You came out to Bible study, and everyone's like, what's this big whoopity-whoopity guy we met NASCAR doing here?
And you gave a bunch of books away. You just loved on our guys, and you told them about the first hour, and you told them about this big event. And look, Mike Dillon, we're grateful for you. We're grateful for your testimony, your boys, your whole family, and Richard Childress race, and grateful for Richard for blessing us. Hey, we can't forget to shout out Parker and Hannah, Guilford Music, man. Worship with Guilford. They're going to bring some music.
Hey, people drive from all over just to hear them, and they're going to be there. Oh, yeah. Just to see Parker's hair. That's where it's coming out to see.
I mean, it's like, not only his voice, but his voice is incredible. But just to see his hair, it's where it's coming out to see. Well, just pray he doesn't wear a hat, and then we're all in trouble, you know? Yeah, he'll probably wear a hat for me.
You know that. Well, listen, Hometown Foundation at Richard Childress Racing, you guys are out on Industrial Drive in Wellcome, kind of near Lexington, North Carolina. You got a special guest, Austin Dillon, Ty Dillon, the guy I'm talking to now, Mike Dillon. We call him Big Daddy Dillon, and then Richard Childress will be there, Michael McDowell speaking, and you're just going to see a lot of folks that love race and love Jesus. And bring your friends, bring your ball club. I'm going to send this, I'm going to make this a podcast and send it to all my coaches that I mentor and love and minister to so they can bring their team for a free evening of worship, 7 to 8.30, an hour and a half. I might have to make a cameo appearance, you know, and show up. I want to go just to be encouraged, man. This is an exciting event. So we got a spot set up for you.
Well, I like that. Well, then I'll have to be there. And let me tell you something.
Let me tell you something. I'm going to bring as many people as I can. And I want to ask you, tell our people how they can learn more and register.
What's the best way? The best way is Hometown Men's Fellowship. And you'll see there's a there when you Google that, you'll have there's a QR code. You can go there and register.
The only reason we want you to register so we know how many basically how many chairs to put out and how much how many how much water to ice up and in books and all that too. So yeah, we'd love for you guys to come out and sign up and come on and see us. We'd love it. And anywhere in the country listening to Truth Talk, we've got stations all over the place. Please take a minute maybe after this show and pray for Mike and pray for this special event on Tuesday, October 15. This right around the corner and pray that God will work in the hearts of men. We're going to pray God that the answer to our country is a heart issue. Right Mike, turning back to God and that's what we're praying and we're grateful for your brother. Thanks so much for popping on here. And we'll see you tonight. Thank you, sir. Appreciate it. Transcribed by https://otter.ai
