Liberty Theological Seminary is relaunching its program with a renewed focus on equipping ministry leaders with a deep understanding of the Word of God. The seminary's goal is to shape a new breed of leaders who can lead the church far into the future, no matter what challenges they may face. With a commitment to the inerrancy of Scripture and the Great Commission, Liberty Theological Seminary is dedicated to producing faithful ministry leaders who can effectively carry out God's mission.

Dr. Troy is turning out Men of God, Women of God at Liberty University's Seminary. There's a relaunch going on. This program will play for maybe a week or two out.

So you can tell everyone now what's about to happen in 30 minutes from now in real time. That's incredible. Seminary training started here on campus in 1973, so we've had consistent seminary training since 1973, so nearly 50 years, actually more than that now. In the last decade, we've taken the time to retool and we gathered our faculty back together to unify our faculty and our curriculum. Under the leadership of a new president, our newly installed in the last year, Chancellor Jonathan Falwell, as well as just a refreshed vision with a fresh fire from just the movement of God, we're relaunching our Liberty Theological Seminary name. With that comes a honed-in vision for expanding on our vision for the School of Divinity, which is to come alongside the local church in its quest to fulfill the Great Commission. Our seminary is going to focus on shaping a new breed of ministry leader for the local churches to equip them for what's next. And so our goal, we're taking a hard look at all our curriculum, but even more so, we're taking a responsible stewardship approach to make sure that what we're doing is equipping leaders with the tools as well as the understanding and critical thinking to be able to lead the church far into the future, no matter what God has us walk through.

And we're excited about that. We've got new scholarship opportunities, we've got new partnership opportunities with local churches, and just a vision that's as big as the globe and beyond. Now, we're going to bring in this guest who's really a miracle of God's grace and a miracle of the impact you've had in this seminary the school's had. But I just want to make sure we clarify here, you're saying that with all this newfangled gender confusion and feminism and stuff like that and higher criticism, you're saying Liberty Theological Seminary is... You guys still believe the Bible, the inerrancy of Scripture, like Dr. Falwell believed years ago?

Are you kidding me? Yeah, well, Stu, I would say it this way, and I've asked my faculty, and as we've entered this season, if we only taught one thing, if we can only have one degree program, what's it going to be? And of course, a lot of people want to say, well, you've got to train pastors, and you've got to train this person, this person, you need scholars. If we're only going to train people in one degree, it's going to be the Word of God. Everything comes and flourishes out of His Word, and knowing Jesus is the most essential discipline for that because He is the Word made flesh. So there is no question, all of the concerns and all of the struggles that we face in our culture are answered in understanding the way God designed it all the way back from Genesis, even to this day.

And so there are new things that will come at us beyond the current struggles we're seeing in our culture. We want to equip our students so they have a framework so that no matter what faces them, they know exactly how to lead God's people to be faithful to God's Word and accomplish God's mission. How appropriate that this is all housed in that beautiful tower building, which also has a scripturium in the basement, which I've been in with you before in my family. Just beautiful, the sacred tablets of Scripture, God's Word preserved through the law, through the prophets, through His Son, through the apostles, and how you all still hold to the Word of God. Now this man of God has held to the Word.

His denomination, he hadn't left them, they left him. And you, sir, Pastor Johnson, Dr. Johnson, you are a graduate of this school. How has that encouraged you in holding to the Word even when your denomination says, hey, we're going to rewrite the Bible, we're going to redefine marriage, we're going to go against God, almost thumb our nose at God. Pastor Johnson, how's that been for you pastoring in Greensboro, North Carolina? In 2016, I took my first doctorate ministry course here at Liberty University, and the professor was Dr. Elmer Towns. And I'll never forget, on the very first day, he said this, the second greatest evangelist in all the world was John Wesley, outside of the Apostle Paul, the way he set things up. And when I came here, getting the education here and getting my doctorate ministry degree in 2019 has been a game changer. And I kept hearing all through the disaffiliation in the United Methodist Church, no matter what word, keep the scriptural truth. And every single time I lean back on my teachings here at Liberty University, keep the truth, that has been a game changer. Our church is absolutely thriving. It has been an awesome thing, what God's doing. This past Sunday, we just had our 101st new member join this year. Our church is being more cross-cultural and all those things, and any of you that are global Methodists across the country that hear this, please give Liberty Theological Seminary an opportunity for your education in seminary needs.

I highly support it. Doc, what's it do to your heart to hear this man of God say those words, knowing what he's been through? We haven't even gotten into those grimy details and the horrible stuff in the way he's been treated and vilified.

Yeah. You know, this is a story that began far beyond Dr. Johnson or myself or even you. This is a story that began even before I found her. We see it in the life of Jesus as he is mobilizing 12 men to change the world with a message that wasn't their own. And when we see the faithful practice of carrying out the truth of God's word in the church, it always brings an eternal fruit. And so that's what we see and what Dr. Johnson has been able to be a part of with his church ministry. It's been always a double down commitment to the truth that's unchanging in God's word. And it always brings an eternal fruit from that. And so it reflects really the heartbeat of what was put inside of our founder's heart many years ago, even pre 1973 when the seminary started in 1971 when the university started. This all began even further back when they started the K through 12 program to know that we were going to use education as a tool for the gospel and the Great Commission. So he is one of thousands. We are the first school at Liberty. And so we have quite a quite a few alumni. These are the stories that are the mighty men of David, so to speak, of our day who don't depend on their own strength.

They depend on the power of the word of God and they live it out and they admonish people to continue to pursue God's truth without question. So it is a this is actually the product. This is exactly what we're aiming for.

I want you to give us the website and the information. We've been at Refuel here, this amazing conference. You guys have brought in all kinds of amazing speakers, Jimmy Scroggins, Jonathan Follow, of course, Charles Billingsley doing the worship. And it's been a powerful thing in hundreds and hundreds of pastors from all over. Jeff Johnson, your quick word, we'll come back to this, Dr.

Troy, about the website. Your quick word to pastors right now in denominations like UMC or even Baptists that are leaving the faith, leaving the word. Maybe they've been taking a leftist woke seminary professor.

They're buying those lies, which is original in the garden. You know, God did not say I mean, it's always an attack on God's authority of God's word. What's your challenge to pastors about holding fast the word and getting, you know, getting trained somewhere like this? I got two quotes I like to mention. One is I remember by Jerry Falwell, this is nothing of eternal significance happens without prayer. You want to do big things, you've got to pray about it.

The other is about one of the first deans here at the school. His name was Vernon Brewer, and he said every single day, try to do one thing that will outlive you. Make sure what you're doing is what God wants. We will never get burned out if we're doing God's will.

We get burned out when we're doing everybody else's will. Stick to the word. Dr. Troy, you guys aren't spitting out junk. Listen to that man of God.

He's bailing the hay right here on this radio show. That's it. That's just a reflection of keeping the right things in the right place and pursuing them faithfully. And so if anybody wants to find out more information about the Liberty Theological Seminary, the easiest way is to go to liberty.edu forward slash seminary. And that will take you to our seminary dedicated website, and you can find information there and request more information. If you want information about admissions, the programs, some of our centers and partnerships, we'd love to help. Okay, and I'm going to post a picture of the three of us with this podcast, so they'll see why I really do have a face for radio.

But they'll also get a picture of you, because when they do come on the campus and meet with you, like I have many times, you walk out of your office. I was here with my brother-in-law who's a pastor in Florida, my other family, you know, looking at the school, other students, and you showed us the scriptorium. I mean, you're looking at texts of scripture that was like, you've got like John Wesley's Bible or other great saints' Bibles, Wycliffe. I mean, blood was shed. You may have a Bible with little sparks of blood. For you all to have a Bible in your hand right now, there was a great price paid.

There was. Yes, absolutely. And it's been a great asset and a blessing to what we do, because we're able to prioritize the Word of God. That scriptorium helps us tell the story of how we got the English Bible, and we start that story with a copy that we have of the Latin Vulgate from the 12th century. We walk our guests through the highlights of the scriptorium through a Torah scroll from the 16th century. We keep currently open to the Ten Commandments, and our curator there that's the coordinator of the scriptorium will take people through there, read it to them, tell the stories. You understand the geopolitical narratives that are underlying some of those stories, but also how the Word of God persisted. Even when it was treated poorly, the Word of God persisted.

And so we take that all the way up to the 17th century in that storyline. And so it's been a great gift to us from the foundation that gifted it to us. So it stays in that place because it's a prominent place. It's right outside our lobby, which also houses the globe that reaffirms our commitment to the Great Commission.
