Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk. A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing and I'll tell you why. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together.

Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. Truly the one and only, Nikita Koloff, also host of the Man Up show on Saturdays, airing on Truth Network, and Q&A with Koloff. Be sure to go over to the podcast platforming. Check all that out and download, if you've yet to download the Truth app, go to your app store and download the Truth Network app.

You'll get access to all kinds of live shows like this, as well as many, many other podcasts, and just a very valuable tool in your app store, Truth Network app. You know the topic for today that I want everyone to chime in on, so you know the topic is, is it time? Is it time for men to man up? And I want to appeal to men today, but I also want to maybe hear from some of the ladies out there. Feel free to chime in on this discussion today.

And I've got some big shoes to fill because, you know, I'm filling in for Stu Epperson, so I'm going to do my best to see if I can't try to raise the bar a little bit here, or at least get over the bar that he has set for all of us here at Truth Radio Network. That said, I believe that we are at a critical time in our nation. I believe we're at a very serious a real serious crossroads in our nation. Manhood and masculinity, in my purview, seems to be under attack. Fatherhood and family seem to be under attack.

In fact, some more recent statistics I found you might find interesting. 65% of our children live in fatherless homes. Children compromise 63% of youth suicides, 93% of homeless children, 85% of children diagnosed with behavioral disorders, and 85% of our youth in prison. Directly related to fatherless homes. There is an enemy of our soul, his name is Satan, who comes to steal, kill, and destroy.

And if fatherhood and family and manhood and masculinity haven't been under attack, then boy, I don't know. And I feel I can speak to this because of the camps that one of my wrestling peers and I, Lex Luger, that we do every spring and every fall. In fact, we have another one coming up October 20th out of Royston, Georgia. Keep us in touch. Every spring and every fall.

In fact, we have another one coming up October 20th out of Royston, Georgia. Keep us in your prayers as we bring small groups of men in together to empower them, equip them, give them the tools necessary to go back home and be that man of God, to be that godly husband, that godly father, and might I add, the godly grandfather that God calls us to be. If I were to throw a few questions out there for you to ponder this afternoon, is it time for men to man up to be the husband, to be the father, to be the man of God that God desires you to be? Are you, man, woman, or child, this can pertain to? Are you pursuing God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and soul?

And strength. If Jesus sat down with you, eye to eye, nose to nose, let's just say toes to toes, what would that conversation look like? Ever thought about that? If Jesus sat down to have a conversation with you, what would that conversation look like? Hey, if you are familiar with me hosting Truth Talk Live, then you know I like to do Bible trivia as well as have a topic of the day to discuss, and it's always a blessing just to send out some autographed 8x10 photos.

We've done I think every show I've hosted, so let's see if we can send out one or two photos today, and hopefully this is an easy one for you. Who wrote the book of Titus? Who wrote the book of Titus? Did Titus write the book of Titus, or did Paul, Peter, or John?

Who wrote the book of Titus? You can call me at 866-348-7884, that's 866-34-TRUTH. And we can have a discussion about manhood and masculinity. Maybe you have a testimony of how God, how God really moved on your heart out there and challenged you to man up and be that husband, that father, that godly man. Maybe you're single out there and God is challenging you to be a godly man. You know the Lord many years ago, I went to a camp in March of 2006 in South Texas, and I sat through a teaching by a man by the name of Duncan Brannon, and it was on biblical manhood. And this is all the way back in 2006, and can I just say for the record, my eyes were open, I mean I was like a deer in the headlights as I'm watching this training, learning from this training, and realizing at that moment, in fact returning home, I asked my pastor, Pastor Jay Stewart, if I could share on the platform that Sunday morning before a thousand plus men, women, and children, I said I was a male for 46 years, and for the first time in my life I stepped into manhood the way God defines it. And there is a difference between how the world defines manhood and how God defines manhood.

And let's talk about that today. Maybe you have a testimony of how God has impacted your life and your manhood, or ladies maybe you have a story or a praise report or a testimony as well, your husband or maybe your dad, how God restored a relationship with you and your dad or restored your marriage. Also, who wrote the book of Titus? 8x10 autographed photo, call 866-348-7884, that's 86634-TRUTH, who wrote the book of Titus? Titus, Paul, Peter, or John? When we come back, let's see if we can get a winner and continue this discussion.

Is it time to man up? Alright, we're back to Truth Talk Live, your host, Nikita Golov, and we're talking about manhood and masculinity, fatherhood and family. Would you say that fatherhood and family, manhood and masculinity have been under attack? Maybe you have a testimony of how God has moved in your own family or in your own life personally, individually. And of course, a little Bible trivia here today as well, who wrote the book of Titus? Did Titus write it? Or did Paul or Peter or John? 866-348-7884, 86634-TRUTH, call on in and let's have a talk and a discussion, if you will, or a testimony or a praise report.

I want to hear from you and get your view of the attack on the family and where you see our nation headed, our family unit. You know, I mentioned nearly 20 years ago going to a camp of my own and seeing a teaching on biblical manhood, realizing that there were some characteristics, if you will, some elements to being a godly man that were missing from my own life. So I will testify and say that. And so let me take some time and just share a few of those characteristics that I have personally been working on as I journey through this life with Jesus. Starting with this, real men desire to know and love God.

You're not bashful about that. You're not afraid to be bold and courageous, you know, to say that you love God. I mean, as in any relationship, to love deeply requires communication, right? A man must have communication with his creator at all times. I call it an ongoing, open-ended dialogue, right? Notice I didn't say monologue. I said dialogue, where it's a two-way street, right? The street goes both ways.

We're not on a one-way street here. And me just throwing up all my requests and how I need God to make my life better. Communication is called prayer. Prayer. What kind of prayer life? I actually did a show on that, talking about prayer, right? Prayer changes a man's perception about his life. It changes things. Prayer changes things. Do you agree?

Chime in on that. Prayer also opens the door for God's wisdom to enter into a man, into a woman's thinking as a man or woman who prays will see results. I have seen that firsthand personally as I've prayed for others, as I've developed my own prayer life. Your thoughts on the power of prayer, and is there an attack on the family unit? And I threw out some stats earlier on fatherless homes, and those could probably be updated.

If they were updated, the numbers would, the percentages would probably be higher at this point. Real men seek to build God's image within themselves, within himself. Real men. This means, this means that this man knows that obedience to his ways. Many times, right, in our selfish nature we want to do things our way. Big challenge is to surrender that free will, right?

Surrender it to turn it over. Jesus take the wheel, right? We want to steer the ship, so to speak, right? And obedience to his ways will bring tremendous character and knowledge, help create within us a sense of self-esteem and self-confidence to our own life. Choosing to walk in responsibility keeps us steadfast in the word of God.

How important is the word? You know, there's certain elements to our relationship with God, certain characteristics or certain things that if we're practicing on a daily basis, things like prayer, like reading your Bible. Robbie Dilmore and I were at lunch earlier today, and we were talking about, you know, just having some morning quiet time, that what if we started off our day? What if we set aside just 30 minutes at the beginning of each day, and that became the foundation?

I mean, look, there's still 23 and a half hours left, right? Like if you just woke up, dedicated those first 30 minutes, maybe some time of prayer, some time of reading the word, reading your Bible, maybe a little worship time. I wonder if, here's a what if, I wonder what if, or I wonder if in the course of your day, it just might flow a bit better.

That's not to say you might not hit some speed bumps in the road, who knows, but it might flow better. Two characteristics of a real man, a godly man, a godly husband and father. Who's going to get this 8x10? Call in 866-348-7884, that's 86634 Truth, who wrote the book of Titus.

Did Titus write it, or did Paul, or Peter, or John? Give us a call, 866-348-7884, 86634 Truth. How have you seen God work in your family? Has God intervened in a situation in your family, maybe in your marriage or relationship with a son or daughter, and you've seen God step in and intervene? Real men desire to build up the gifts and talents that God has given to him. Are you utilizing accessing and utilizing the gifts and talents that God has given you? Are you working to develop your skills? Are you educating yourself? Are you walking with mentors?

Is that important? Do you have a mentor? How important is it to have a mentor? For me, Ronnie Dean Raven, my spiritual father who lives out in Missouri, who I've known now for 25 plus years, who has spent over 50 years in ministry, is one of my mentors. I'm fortunate to have several that surround me. I have some great friends. Lex Luger is a great battle buddy who's in the trenches with me and there with me through thick and thin and through highs and lows and ups and downs. Who do you have?

Who do you have as your battle buddy for highs and lows and ups and downs and to help you through the storms? It's time. It's time. It's time where God is looking for some men to step up, some men to speak up, some men to man up.

We're at a critical crossroads in our nation right now and we need men, we need women, we need the church, the church as a whole to speak up and make our voices heard. Been silent way too long. Give me a call at 866-348-7884. I'd love for you to chime in on this conversation and let's talk about it. Who wants to win that 8x10? Give me a call.

Who wrote the book of Titus? We'll be back. Truth Talk Live! You're listening to the Truth Network and truthnetwork.com Well, well, well, welcome back. We're at the half hour mark here on Truth Talk Live.

Your host, Nikita Kolov. Just want to remind you, go get the Truth app. If you hadn't done that Truth Network app, go into your app store and get that. We're talking about manhood and masculinity. We're talking about fatherhood and family. Maybe you have a testimony on how God has stepped into your family and intervened in your marriage or relationship with your children or love for you to call in at 866-348-7884.

That's 86634-TRUTH. Also would love to give away an autographed 8x10 from my old wrestling days back in the NWA slash WCW World Championship Wrestling Days Bible trivia. Who wrote the book of Titus? Did Titus write it or did Paul, Peter, or John?

Who wrote the book of Titus? We're also talking about characteristics of a real man. Things that God has been teaching me over the years, over the past nearly two decades with the help of mentors and other godly men around me. Who do you have around you?

Who do you have surrounding you? Another characteristic is a real man lives out the community principles found in the Bible. What do I mean by that? Well, Jesus confirmed that the second greatest instruction, commandment, right, when they were testing him, hey Jesus, Yeshua, what's the greatest commandment? And he said, love the Lord your God, I'm sure you know it, with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength in some of the books. And then he said the second is like it, love your neighbor as your, that's right, you guessed it, as yourself, as one's self. And he was really quoting Leviticus in chapter 19. Jesus was sharing what is in the Old Testament and brought many of the Old Testament scriptures into the light, into the light and the real meaning behind what some of the religious of their day missed and what others were hungry to hear. Real men walk out their faith by actions.

Anyone familiar with the book of James? Faith without action? Who knows it?

Anyone know it? Not a Bible trivia question, but you're sitting in your car right now or you're driving down the road or you're listening to the Truth Network app and you're like faith without action, faith without action. I know. Oh yeah, yeah, it's like the body without breath. Yes, exactly. Because the body without breath is? That is correct.

The body without breath is dead. So a man, a real man walks out his faith by actions, he builds faith, not fear, into the lives of others. I want to instill faith in others, especially in your family, right? And those closest to you and those around you, you speak blessings over the lives of your family, speak blessings over the lives of your friends, right?

Just be an encourager and speak blessings to them. A real man will bring out the best in others. Is that something somebody can say about you? Is it your goal or is it your mindset to bring out the best in others? Is that where your focus is?

Especially, think about this, your own family, right? Bringing out the best in your own family as a man of God, as a godly husband, as a godly father. And if you're not a husband yet or you're not a father yet, then embrace some of the characteristics and things I'm saying today so that when that day happens and you get married, that you can be that godly man, that godly husband, that godly father, that God desires, that Yahweh desires of you.

He helps his wife, a godly man, a real man helps his wife, helps his children to achieve their potential. Do you see the potential in your wife and in your children? And if you see it, do you speak into that? Do you encourage them with that? Do you show love to your family openly or just behind closed doors?

Do you embrace your family joyfully? Some real challenging questions I'm throwing out there today, I'd love to get a comment or two from somebody out there in listening land, 866-348-7884. If you have a testimony or a comment, give me a call, 866-334-TRUTH. And if you have the answer to the trivia question, who wrote the book of Titus, call me and give me that answer. And if you get the right answer, we'll send you out a free personally autographed 8 by 10 photo. Alright, let's talk live here.

You know, I mentioned the name Lex Luger, some of you may recognize that name from the wrestling days, the total package. God gave he and I a vision several years ago, he was living with me back in 2015 for conferences, for a man-up conference, man-up intensive, a man-up dinner, soon to be a man-up breakfast, and then a full blown man camp. Where for the ladies listening out there, we bring men into an environment for over a handful of days to really challenge them, to impact them, to empower them, to go back home. And so many stories and so many testimonies, I have handwritten letters from wives, I have testimonies from children. We've actually had fathers and sons attend the camp in the past, and that's something that is of interest to gain more information on that.

Go to Koloff.net, that's simply my last name, Koloff.net, and you'll get more information on that. Characteristics of a real godly man. A godly man understands the necessary balance between justice and mercy.

But you hadn't thought about that one in a while, or maybe you have. A real godly man understands the necessary balance between justice and mercy. He's compassionate, yet fair.

Now if we look at our numero uno, number one model, Jesus, I think we could all agree that Jesus modeled compassion for us, and was yet fair. A real godly man knows when to be firm and when to be gentle. What was said about David that he was a warrior but he was also a worshiper?

King David, that he was a warrior but also a worshiper? A real godly man knows when to be firm, but also when to be gentle. And he extends forgiveness. Boy don't we all need that, I know I do.

I know I do. I am sorry, ever heard those words? He knows the difference between an insincere, I am sorry, and true repentance. A real godly man understands the difference. And he pursues becoming both a good priest of his home, in addition to being a servant leader in his home. We are discussing and talking about manhood today, masculinity, fatherhood, and family. And I hope some of these characteristics of a godly man are perhaps hitting home with you. You know we do a real deep dive at our camp when we talk about and discuss what it looks like to live out a life of manhood the way God defines it. Biblical manhood, biblical manhood. Who wants to win this 8x10 autograph photo? Who wrote the book of Titus? This must be a tough one here today. Who wrote the book of Titus? Maybe you are going to leave me hanging and it's going to be the first time, first show.

I haven't given out an 8x10 but I guess there is a first for everything. Did Titus write the book of Titus? Did Paul? Or did Peter?

Or did John? Call in at 866-348-7884. That's 866-344-TRUTH. And we are going to continue here our discussion of characteristics of manhood. A real man is faithful to build the kingdom of God. When we come back we will talk more about what that looks like building the kingdom of God. Don't go anywhere.

Stay right here. You are listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Alright welcome back to Truth Talk Live our final segment for the day. It looks like Chris up in Dayton, Ohio might have an answer for my trivia question. I was getting nervous. I thought well maybe I'm not going to give out any 8x10s today. Chris are you there?

We are finally getting rain after 30 days with no rain so we are thankful. Oh wow okay. Well if you have to build an ark let me know Chris.

Just make us aware. Thank you for listening to Truth Talk Live. Alright Chris well what's the answer to the trivia question? I believe Titus is one of the pastoral letters. It's written by Paul to Titus.

Bam! The Apostle Paul. That's right. You know I was listening earlier Chris how Paul wrote the letter to the Ephesians as well as to Timothy from prison.

Like he wasn't on the French Riviera right? He was like in prison writing those letters. But that is the answer. Titus 1.1 written by the Apostle Paul. I appreciate that. Thank you.

Any quick comments Chris on our topic today on manhood and masculinity, fatherhood and family? Well yeah we just have to promote it. It's under such attack.

It's been under attack for a long time and we never saw it because it didn't make sense why people would attack it and so we need to defend it and promote it and to be men. Yeah you're right. And I'm the same way as you. I don't think I really became a man until I was 45 because of the school system we went through. You really have to show strength and do what's right and the consequences they just are what they are. Yeah we are relatable. Mid 40s for me, mid 40s for you and I don't know about you. My dad left when I was 3 so I didn't have a dad figure to pattern my life good or bad to kind of look at that and go do I want to be like him or not be like him or whatever.

And so yeah my world became kind of defined through conversations and school and just life itself right until I saw that teaching at camp. Man good word. Appreciate those thoughts Chris.

Appreciate you not leaving me hanging on the photo. Come on. Okay well I think we were somewhat you know in the late 70s 80s and 90s kind of emasculated and I think that our identity of what a man is supposed to be and the courage to be a man in Christ is you know it's just it's really it's a shame but it's really been downplayed so we got to step up and do the right thing. Well no and I agree. I agree. Let me just say this and we'll my man Nick Darrow get an address from you. We want to bless you with that photo for yourself or for somebody you know but yeah that is this has not been an overnight thing in my view that it yeah the attack on masculinity and manhood you know godly on that godly perspective has been over decades you know with the enemy of our of our soul and from all sources right.

Whether it's from television shows or movies and anything and everything else right. So great great insight Chris. Thank you. You hang tight and Nick's going to get get a million address from you and we'll get that out to you okay. And I was a macho man guy and I'm sorry. Oh Chris I liked you until now. Oh yeah.

Jump into a slim gym dig it. Yeah. How was that great. Okay. Was that good.

Kind of pretty good. Thank you so much. Thanks for being a wrestling fan Chris. All right. God bless you. Okay. All right.

Well all right. Chris Dayton Ohio. I wasn't left hanging man. I was able to give out an autograph eight by 10 today and I will still send out to Chris even though he's not. I will send out to Chris even though he was a macho man Randy Savage fan. It was still I'm still going to show some love there because I have to. No I'm kidding. Anyway. All right.

So so before we run out of time here today I do want to I don't know we don't really have time for another trivia question so I'll just save that till the next time I host my next trivia question. I want to share a couple more characteristics and I agree with what Chris just said. I think many maybe of you many of you or maybe all of you might agree that manhood masculinity the way God defines it. Now we know clearly the world has its own perspective of what a man is.

Actually talk at length about this I do a one day conference called the man up conference probably about I don't know 10 or 15 maybe sometimes many as 20 of those a year in local church communities. And and that's one of the things we discuss as well is is the contrast between how the world views manhood versus how God views manhood and I want to paint that illustration and of course I can tie in as I was sharing with Chris. Some of my own personal testimony and not having a dad growing up and and so my perspective on man my my perspective on women just you know transparent be transparent say my perspective on women was skewed by the world's view. And then once I understood that God's view and how precious a woman is created in the in the eyes of God created in his image you know male and female he created them I'll go on record and say according to God's word in the book of Genesis that there are two genders male and female he created them. And and he he didn't screw up he didn't mess up when when he made you he knew exactly who he was creating he knew you go read Psalm 139 I think 13 verses 13 through 16 and you're going to find out he even knew you before you ever even in your mother's womb.

He knew you and was already had already was establishing a plan a purpose a mission and a destiny for your life and go check that out he knew exactly what he was doing when he created you there was no confusion on his part. It is the world and the enemy of our soul who bring he's the author of confusion and he is the father of lies and so what we're seeing today is pure I believe just right in our face pure evil and wicked and at a full out a front not just on manhood masculinity but on on on. Men and women both even though I kind of centered in on men today a couple other characteristics real quick before we run out of time real man a real man a real man is faithful to build the kingdom of God. Real men care for the poor and for the widow that's pretty biblical for the fatherless for the orphan he's a tither and a giver of offerings if you don't understand that principle boy you need to do a little little research on on that. Being a tither and a giver of offerings there are two different things are not one of the same and maybe I'll dedicate a whole show maybe one day on that he works to bring healing and restoration to the lives of others he equips himself with the knowledge of truth and shares the truth with the lost. A real man is faithful to building the kingdom of God and for the record you can't out give God you can't out serve him and a real man is a student of the word. I could not emphasize enough that that a man in the scripture says study to show thyself approved he studies scripture that helps deepen his walk a walk of obedience to his king king Jesus he knows the times and the seasons of God's kingdom.

My friend open your eyes pay attention to what's going on in the world around us our nation is at a crossroads we are at a critical juncture and I will be on record to say I honestly. What's it's not important in a sense you might say to me who's in the White House what's important to me is who's in God's house. Who's sitting on the throne is Jesus sitting on the throne of your heart let's just start with that and hopefully he is you have surrendered your life to Christ. And then you are pursuing these characteristics of what it means to be a godly man if you're a godly woman out there God bless you thank you for loving Jesus and being the wife and mother that God calls you to be we need that critically as well. We need the home to be whole and healthy and heal we need godly men we need godly women we need godly dads we need godly moms and in today's world because so many homes are fatherless we need godly grandfathers we need godly grandmothers. God bless those praying grandmas I'm just saying and it's been fun talking with you today here on Truth Talk Live Nikita Koloff be sure and check out the Man Up show on Saturdays and all of your podcast platforms Q&A with Koloff as well and next time I'm on we'll have some more Bible trivia we'll have another topic of discussion that we will bring out. Thank you Chris up in Dayton Ohio my man came through he didn't leave me hanging and so until next time keep your ears open let the scales fall from your eyes pray read the word and go out and make a difference in your life and the life of others around you. God bless you.
