This is the Truth Network. This is the Truth Network. Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right. Let's talk the truth news.
I can't hide it. Back it all! A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you what. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together.
Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. Mm-hmm. When it comes to prayer, And You know, I hope all of us are endeavoring to to get this Um Closer to God in 2026.
So, but when it comes to prayer, when it comes to lingering with God in prayer, like you know, just to simply spend that time just with Him on His agenda, you know, what. Is your go-to verse, right? What verse helps you out when you consider that idea of just. you know, lingering With God in prayer. And we want to hear from you.
I just love your calls. 866, the number to call in and share 866-348-7884. 866-348-7884. When it comes to lingering with God, In prayer, what's your Go-to verse, right? Prayer isn't always about getting through a list, right?
Sometimes it's about staying a while. And, you know. What's that verse that helps you stay? What's that Mindset that gives you that idea. I, those who may know, are Saturday programming.
I do Kingdom Pursuits every Saturday from 11 to about 11:51, and then comes on a show called Encouraging Prayer with Dr. James Banks. He's the author of many, many books on prayer. His most famous prayers with Prodigals, and I recorded a show with him just yesterday. And he'd had a friend send him a note on this idea of lingering in prayer.
And so he read this on his show. I just want to do a little. Spoiler alert for James' show this Saturday. I asked him if it was okay if I played this because it's touched me so much. And I hope as you listen to it, you're dialing 866-348-7884 to tell me how you experienced this.
But I want you to hear James explain what devotion that his friend sent him and this idea that his friend kind of wrote a letter in God's hand, so to speak, to himself on what God would have to say to us about lingering in prayer. I want to share a note that I got. I have a friend, Don Long, who also has a prodigal prayer ministry. And so we work together sometimes. And Don sends out devotions.
And he sent this yesterday with a sense of this is what the Lord put on his heart. Let me read this. He said, Your greatest blessings happen. when you linger in my presence. Many of your best moments occur when you are with me in prayer and sacrificially stay with me longer than you anticipated.
You rush to your next agenda while I seek to spend more time with you, my love. You pray for more. Yet you give me little. You seek my gifts. You wonder why you ask yet, you do not receive.
I delight in giving. Yet you have not desired my total presence. I desire you wholly and totally. If only you knew the things I have in store for you now and eternally. your agenda and the things you rush to while with me would pale in comparison.
O my loves, stay, linger, and sup with me, and there will be no regrets, nothing lost, but much gained. Oh, my love, the time is short. Seek me now, linger in my presence. while there is yet time. Right, it just, you know, grabbed me.
And I loved that thought. And of course, immediately I thought, man, you know, I really want to. You know, because I love prayer time and I love to spend that time with him this morning. I applied some of that, which I heard, and I'm hoping that it encourages you as it does me to linger a little bit more or maybe a lot more. To, you know, to get off what it is I'm praying about and to just.
you know, hang out like you would with that um Person that you dearly love is just, you know, to gaze in their eyes as he wants to gaze in yours, right? If you read in the book of Song of Solomon, it's an amazing set of verses, you know, where you. He says, Let me see your countenance. Let me hear your voice, because you're. Voice is sweet, and your countenance is comely or beautiful.
You know, those things that he, he just. He just wants to hang out with you.
So How, you know, as you think about that, what has your experience been? You know, did you have some time that just sticks out in your mind as particularly rich that you could share with somebody that might help them, encourage them to spend more time just lingering in prayer, or maybe a verse that helps you do that? 866, the number to call in, 866-348-7884-866-348-7884, the number to call in. When it comes to lingering with God, you know? What have some of your experiences been?
Um You know, what's your go-to verse? And, you know, it really summoned my mind back to.
Some of my most early experiences in church, actually, a lot of people may not know that I didn't come to faith until after meeting my wife in 1989. We got married, and we decided to start to go to church together, even though at the time I didn't have any idea who God really was. And we went to the First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, North Carolina, for those of you in Ohio. And there was a pastor that was, the pastor emeritus there. And he had Not preached for years before this night and or this particular Sunday morning.
And he didn't preach for years after that. His name was Dr. Redhead. And he preached this sermon where I'll never forget it because what he said was, he said, if, and again, it really got to my heart because at the time I had never thought about this. He said, you know, if God is really God, Then he kind of knows all the things that you want to tell him.
He knows the stuff that's going on in your life. And so it's not necessary to give him a whole lot of information. He's pretty familiar with all that. He said, you know, when it comes to prayer, He said, you have two ears and one mouth. Do the math.
Right? And so. He shared with us that day this prayer, which very, very, very much was a lingering prayer. Which just had to do with getting to a place you know, finding a way. to sit there and just be with God.
And he had us sit in the pews that day and he had us relax and feel our body weight on the pew. And I remember he said, he kept on saying, and let go, and let go and let God. And he said, you know, I just want you to to Mm-hmm. Seek his face, seek his presence, and I want you to let go and let go and let God. And I couldn't help reflect nowadays that I know that John Eldridge, if you're familiar with his ministry wild at heart, you know, he always talks about this.
You know, just you have to just let go of things and give it to God, right? And that's what Pastor Redhead shared that day. And then he said, now just picture in your mind that Jesus is coming down and sitting next to you. And now I want you to just listen. Listen, and so we have Serena is in Dayton, Ohio.
I'm so excited to hear from Serena. You're on Truth Talk Live. What have you got for us?
So I was recently watching the nine eleven recaps and I remember hearing the story about the man who helped take over United ninety three and he was on the phone with a nine-one one dispatcher. And right before he decided to overthrow the plane, he um read Psalm twenty three with the nine one one dispatcher. And I don't know why, but it it just um made me want to go back to that and read it and memorize it. Um, because I thought it was really powerful that the two of them In this moment, they could read the whole scripture together, and they were united in that scripture. And so now.
I'm often going back to that scripture and just thinking about every single line and every and what it means. Um more in depth. And now I often see that. Say that scripture to my son as he's falling asleep every night, so that you know he'd have that in his heart. um you know to lean on So that's one that I Frequently pray on, and then I pray on, you know, to understand each and every single.
part of that. further and further. Wow. You know, I hadn't ever really thought about that. That way.
Can you stick on with me, Serena? It sounds like we gotta go to a break, but the way you describe it is talk about lingering in a moment. Like, Here, this plane is under being hijacked, and these two could be caught, and he could be killed. And he's spending the time. Right?
Isn't that what you're referring to? Yeah. That's so amazing. We need your calls: 866-348-7884. We'll be right back with Serena.
You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. Today's question. When it comes to lingering with God in prayer, what's your. Go to verse.
What is it that helps you Get there, stay there, and feel like you're inviting God or He's inviting you. 866. The number to call in 866-348-7884.
So, so blessed to have Serena in Dayton, Ohio. We are discussing. Moments ago this unbelievable scene in 9-11 of this man fixing to take over the plane, which some of you may r recall well, that there was one plane that was headed towards Um I'm trying to remember what it was headed towards, but nonetheless, I know that they took over the plane and crash-landed it before it went into the Pentagon or it was going somewhere. Um, do you recall Serena? I believe it was the capital is what they thought.
Yeah, that's right. It was going into Washington, D.C., into the Capitol. But this extremely brave group of men. And when you think about that, what Serena was describing. I still can't get over.
They took the time to read. Or Maybe, perhaps he had it memorized as Serena does, and as I do, actually. I love that, love that, love that song. Um the 23rd Psalm. And so Um Now, Serena, you you...
You spend time with that, and you spend time, you said, with your son. How old is your son? Peace three. How fun. As you guys are going to bed, you're singing over that psalm?
Yes. That way one day when he's older he'll have it in his heart. if he comes across something and I thought that was the most impactful thing of the story is that this man had it memorized. as in this moment of sheer chaos and he asked the the operator the of the of the phone that he's calling through to say it with them and she had it memorized and in that moment They they recited it together and not moments later, he took over the plane and Um In total calmness.
So I just was really impacted by that and I thought, well, if you have something like that memorized and in your heart. in the moment it could come out and Help you through that. And so I spent a lot of time. uh thinking of that one whenever I feel anxious or nervous or anything going awry and it helps give me peaks. in that moment.
Mm-hmm. Yeah, and you had you you had said right before the break that You love to study that psalm and see things you hadn't seen before. And a couple of things I would share with you, because I'm with you and I think there's no end to what we all learn on the 23rd Psalm. But there's an amazing book. Called the 23rd Psalm from a shepherd's perspective.
Have you ever read that? I have not. And so it's a shepherd who wrote this book on You know what it means to be a sheep and why these different terms of, you know, he leads me beside still waters because I didn't know that sheep are terribly afraid of being drowned, so they won't go anywhere near a fast-running river. They won't drink, they'll die of thirst before they go near. that that particular thing.
And so I just Have to tell you, I think it might be Philip Kelly. I'm trying to remember who wrote the book, but it's called The 23rd Psalm from a Shepherd's Perspective. Oh, you got to read it. It's you, it will, I will read it, you will delight in that.
So, I can't tell you. And then, one other thing I would add, since I just love that psalm so much. Um You know that there's the line where he says, You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemy. Right? You're familiar with that verse?
Well, if if you study The Tabernacle or the temple, either one, they were set up to be facing a particular way. And the bread of the presents which of course is the table, so to speak, was always to be on the north end. because in Israel the enemy always comes from the north. And so when David was obviously Very familiar with the the tabernacle setup. Um in his case because they hadn't built the temple yet.
Um Then he knew that the showbread was always there that would be.
So that it was the first thing that that he would see when he faced his enemies. Is I got you covered. It's a beautiful thing, especially when you consider that for us in Christ, you know, one of the ordinances is to take the bread, right, and the cup in likeness of his death. Talk about your enemy, right? Death.
And it's right there in his presence. Um that we that we drink that. And so I I I'm with you. I There's nothing like having that stuff in your heart right for such a time as this. That's right.
Beautiful. Thank you so much for calling in, Serena. God bless you and your son. Thank you. God bless you.
All right. Bye-bye. How do you linger? What's your go-to verse when it comes to lingering with God? We would love to hear from you.
866-348-7884. 866-348-7884. When it comes to lingering with God in prayer, what's your go-to verse? I know we had a caller from Savannah, apparently. Lost a connection, please call us back.
We would love to hear what you have. Because, again, everybody like me, I'm going to be thinking about this 911 operator like, can you imagine? Um taking the time In that circumstances, you got people all over the plane. that would murder you in a heartbeat if they sensed that you were talking to somebody on the phone and yet sit there and recite the 23rd Psalm. Just amazing stuff.
That's why your calls mean so much to the rest of the audience. You know, for you to step, you know, out in faith, because I know it's hard. I'll never forget the first time I called into a radio show, I was terrified. But the number is. 866-348-7884.
866-348-7884. So For me personally, this morning as I was thinking about verses for me. Right, that is I want to linger in his presence and I want to get to that point that Dr. Redhead got us to where we were just letting go of everything and just being there with God. And just staring Looking for his face, wanting his presence, you know, sensing his joy, those kind of things.
Or sometimes you might sense. He's brokenhearted or lonely or all sorts of things. You've had the experience, and I would love to know what you experienced. I really would. But for me, this morning, I was at Psalm 46:10, and I saw it in a light that I had never really thought about it much.
You know, it's the verse that says, Be still. and know that I am God. Right. And and and that idea of just be still lingers, so to speak. Uh Uh With that.
You know, is this idea interestingly, if you read that verse in context, it's in the middle of a war, and he's talking about battle and all sorts of very difficult things, not unlike our 911. But in the midst of that, just be still and know I am God. And then it says, I'm going to be exalted among the people. The nations. Right?
And clearly, in the case of that 911 call, he really, really was. But Well When you look at that word be still in Hebrew, and I studied it hard this morning to see that it very much is that idea of just letting go. In fact, to go slack might be a way you could translate that word, but it's this idea of, hey, That's not my agenda right now. God, that's it's your agenda.
So You know It's nice to sit there and just let all that go and know that he's God and then just get a sense of where he wants to go, what he's doing. We got Tommy is in Jacksonville, Florida. Tommy, you're on Truth Talk Live. Thank you, sir. Thanks for taking my call.
I heard a story some years ago, y'all talking about the 23rd Psalm. It was a reporter trying to get information On what a foal was. You know, they said they put sheep in a foal at night. Right. He was trying to get information, and the guy introduced him to a shepherd, and the shepherd said, Oh, yeah.
He said a foal is uh like a Uh Like a cave or something. It's got high walls on it. We put glass or sticks on it. Tommy, I hate to put you off, but we got a break coming up. We are dying to hear about your sheepfold.
So when we come back, we're going to hear from Tommy. We also got Rachel in Ohio. We need your call. 866-34 Truth. We'll be right back with Tommy.
You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Yeah. Oh my god. Welcome back to True Talk Live. Today we're talking about when it comes to lingering with God in prayer, what.
What is your go-to verse? What helps you to get there, to stay there, to linger? We've been talking a lot about the 23rd Psalm. We got Tommy is in Jacksonville, Florida. And he was telling us about a story about a sheepfold.
So, Tommy, carry on. Yeah. Thank you, sir. Let's start back again. What I was talking about was that the reporter was trying to get information on what a sheep hole was, so he was talking to a shepherd.
And the shepherd explained to him how they put the high walls up, and they usually put glass or sticks on top of it so that they can climb over it. And he said, then we have a door here. And the reporter said, where's the door? He said, an opening there. He said, sir, I'm not silly.
That's not a door, that's an opening. And there's the the shepherds of WTR. What happens at night, I lay across there. I'm the door. And I thought about in the book of John, where it talked about Jesus said he's the door, the way, the truth, and the life.
Yeah. Went over that shepherd. comes out of our mouth. And everything that comes in comes in our ears, and it changed my whole spectrum of what I listen to and what I speak.
So I thought it was a neat thing. Wow, Tommy. Once again, another listener just really gives me something. You know, that. I That What an insight, right?
Okay. It's powerful. It's powerful. When you sit there and think about it, how God Has us all figured out. He knows the plan.
All he asks is one simple thing for us to be obedient. And if you're obedient, he takes care of every one of your problems. You don't have nothing to worry about. That's beautiful, Tommy. That's man, I'm so grateful for your call.
I'm going to be thinking about that one, too, now. I'm so grateful. Thank you, Tommy. You keep up the good work down there in Jacksonville. God bless you.
Yeah, I'll keep up the good work. Thank you, sir. Thank you. All right, how about you? 866-348-7884 is the number to call in and share your.
Go to, or something along these lines. It just blown my mind. We got Rachel is in Ohio. Rachel, you're on True Talk Live. Hey there.
Hi. Um, my verse would be Exodus 14, 14. Wow. Which is Um uh the Lord will fight for you. All you got to do is be still.
Um and man, it it's kind of backing up what Tommy said. If if you're if you're righteous and you live how you're supposed to, you know, hu humans are cruel, uh, very cruel. Yeah. God will fight for you if you're with him, you believe in him, you say in the word, and you know he can. The faith that you should have in this Only being that is trustworthy and true and pure and beautiful will do it all for you if you only have faith and love, you know?
Oh, I'm sitting here looking at Exodus 14, 14. What a nugget. You know, you know, you've read something a bunch of different times, but I've never seen it in the light that you just described it. And sure enough, the Lord will fight for you. You must be quiet.
Amen. Faith in him. Man, he's the only thing pure and good and amazing and trustworthy and just. you you just gotta believe in him 'cause he is something to believe in. Right.
And when I was talking about it a few minutes ago, that in Psalm 46:10, which a lot of people quote the beginning of it, right, which is, you know, be still and know that I am God, but. You know, right before that was this big war, right? And so it was the same idea that you're explaining here. And even if you're not. In the middle of Other kinds of battle.
How many times, you know, I don't know if you're like me, Rachel, you're trying to pray, you're trying to pray, but it's a battle just to pray. Right? No, I'm at the point in my relationship with my precious Lord that I don't battle to pray. I just wake up and pray, and I get up in the mornings and I go out and watch the sunset, and I feel his wind, and I stand in his rays, the sunshine, and he's my best friend. I talk to him all day long, and he saves me from so much and keeps me, you know, just he.
He brought peace to my life when I had none, and I'm so grateful. Yeah, and I'm grateful for your call. And obviously, Exodus 14:14 is a great way to be there. Right. is is to let him do the bottle and you just You just be still.
That's right. He's super strong. He's way stronger than any of us. That is wonderful. Have you got any other verses or things that that help you?
I mean, I love the whole chapter of Psalms 119. It's, you know, a whole book of. Of not only what God will do for you. but it's what he'll turn you into. He wants you to be kind and generous and all these amazing things.
And if you study His Word, you turn into those things. He makes you something beautiful through His love, through His lessons, and all the things that He wanted you to know.
So any way you slice it, any book in the Bible, anything is amazing. Yeah, the hundred nineteenth Psalm. is eight verses on every letter in the Hebrew alphabet and that was one I memorized. And I gotta tell you that You know, time and time and time again, David asks, He begs him, teach me your statutes, right? I'll sing your praises when you teach me your statutes.
And when you get down even into the last verses, he comes back again. And says it one more time: that when you teach me your statutes, then I'm going to sing. And I love the end of it. You know, we like sheep have gone astray. Seek your servant, because I forget not your commandments, which sounds like.
You know, I can just so totally relate to what you're saying. um earlier that you you you wake up praying You go out and you've you I love to go out at night when I'm walking my dog on, honestly, and look up at the stars and go, Oh my gosh, God, look at this. What a show you're putting on tonight. Like, man, I was just. That's right.
I I call it his canvas. I say it's an ever-changing miracle. You know, like just picture him with a paintbrush and he's just putting beauty in front of your eyes. But the best time to talk to him, it even says in the Bible, is in the morning where it's so quiet and you're right in front of his beauty. And regardless of what happens during the day, you can just picture it and you can feel the wind around you and feel him hugging you almost and just bringing the calm and thanking him for beauty and what he's turning you into.
Well, you know, that in your love for the 119th Psalm, you may be familiar with this verse that David penned. He said, I rise at midnight. To sing your praises, right? And what I understand in Jewish history was that David had a special Harp or, you know, lyre, whatever you want to call it, instrument. Mm-hmm.
It had very thin strings. And, you know, the wind changes at exactly midnight. And he put that particular instrument in a window so that the wind came, when the wind would come through those strings, it would sound. Yeah, I got a wind chime. And so.
Because at the moment that in real midnight, I'm not talking about what it says in the clock on the wall, but at the point in time where the sun is no longer going away from you, it is now coming closer to you, that's midnight. And so at the point in time when. The sun is on its way back. David would rise because of his, you know, harp alarm clock. Yeah.
And begin to sing. To God is only, isn't that beautiful? Yeah. I know. Listen, I've had great sunsets and great sunrises.
I have so many pictures, and my favorite hymnal is How Great Thou Art. Um and it it is. It it his art is just it it overtakes you. And it's a good thing. It's a good overtaking.
You know, it's just a calm. I totally agree. I totally agree, Rachel. I'm so grateful for. Man, are so many amazing listeners.
And especially in Dayton, Ohio, you guys just rock up there. You must have some amazing churches. It's a little bit of a message. That's right. That's right.
Or some serious pain, either or. Pain builds character, and God heals you from it. You know, however, it works. It's a beautiful thing. And so I'm so grateful for your call today.
And you just, you keep on praising him. You keep lingering. And I'm going to remember Exodus 14:14 from now on as something that I never highlighted until today. Thank you for your call. All right.
God bless you. Well, thanks for what you guys do, and thanks for taking the time to talk to me. You have a good day. You too. God bless.
Bye-bye. 866, the number to call in and share, we would love, as you can tell, man. I mean, the things that we're learning today. I got, you know, sheep folds and the shepherd laying in the door and the the the airplane on 9-11. Oh man, what what treasures you have if you'll call 866-06 348-7884-866-348-7884.
As I can see, the phones are lighting up this very minute. As, you know, maybe you have another go-to, like we've heard from other callers, that help you to stay, to linger, to feel his presence, to. You know, get that sense of. Of just gazing back and forth without necessarily having to say anything, right? Maybe you've been blessed to have that relationship with another human being where you could just hang out and not say a word and totally feel loved and totally feel accepted and totally feel the joy.
So we got Tommy calling back from Jacksonville. And so, Tommy, not to be welcome back to Truth Talk Live. I am so sorry. I read the call was to give you a verse, and my motto has been Proverbs 327, which says, withhold not good. To whom it is due when it's within the power of your hand to do so.
And the Lord has given me a gift. I'm a repairman, and I never been to school for nothing I knew. I've been doing it for about 65 years now, and I enjoy it. It's a joy to help people and do things. And it's it's a gift God gave me.
And you know, the old saying is: if you have a gift, you don't use it, you'll lose it.
So I'm trying to keep it up.
So Proverbs Give me the the three twenty seven. Three twenty seven. And so It's kind of neat that you were applying that because you had some good to share with us and you didn't do that. No, no, no, no, that's what I said. I was thinking about my story about the 23rd Psalm and it just threw me off.
I'm sorry. No, no, no, no. I am delighted that you called back, and I'm delighted to have this verse. Um And that in the middle of the day. Yeah, go ahead.
I'll share one thing when you get through, because, number one, Listen to you talk. I understand you have the gift of mercy whether you know it or not, but I can hear it in your voice and the way you handle the people that call in, and I appreciate that. But I've taken my, if I understand the scriptures correctly. The next thing to happen on the 30th clock is the greats catching away or the rapture, whatever they want to call it. And then we go to heaven for seven years, and then we come back as spectators with Christ as He does.
Well, Tommy, I hate this is the second time I've caught you on a break, but so you got to stay because now I got to know what's coming up, and so does everybody else.
So, stay with us. We still got Tommy 866-348-7884. We'll be right back. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live.
Today's question is: when it comes to lingering with God in prayer, what is your Go to verse and having so much fun with all the different callers today. We still have Tommy with us, thank goodness, from Jacksonville, Florida. And when we left, Tommy, we're getting into some prophetic stuff here.
So. Go on and share what what you see coming. What I was talking about is that when we come back with Christ. We live here on the earth. That cleans everything up again.
We live here for a thousand years with believers. And I told the guy in my class, I said, Yo, can you concede that? And the guy said, Man, I can't I can't even concede that I said, Why don't you start practicing now and you'll be used to it when the time comes? Yeah, Years ago, I went to a church that had. like six or seven thousand members.
It was a big church. And I remember the pastor standing up one day and saying, you know, a lot of people complain that the church is too big, they can't relate because it's got so many people in here. He goes, Guys, you're just practicing for heaven. It's going to be a big press. I agree with you.
I agree with you wholeheartedly. The problem with Christians today, they talk to talk, but they don't walk the walk. And we need more people to stand up for Christ.
Now's the time to stand up. If you've ever had a chance to stand up, now is the time. And we're on the short list.
Well, there you go. Thank you, Tommy. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you calling back and sharing the verse, too. God bless you. Thank you, brother.
Thank you, guys. Bye-bye. Bye-bye. All right, what are you thinking? It's your choice.
I mean, your chance. Why am I saying your choice? But it is your choice to dial. 866-348-7884. When it comes to lingering with God in prayer, what's your go-to verse?
866-348-7884. Well, wonderfully, Ophelia in. Savannah called in during some other calls, and she was able to share her verse, even though we've had trouble with her connection. And her verse. Beautifully.
is Isaiah 41.10. Right. And what an amazing verse this is in lingering with God, and especially in light of what we were hearing about, Exodus 14, 14, right? And it fits right along these lines. It says, Fear not, for I, this is Isaiah 41:10, fear thou not, for I am with thee.
Be not dismayed, for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee, yea, I will help thee. Yea. I will uphold you. With thy right hand of my righteousness.
Well, we get a pretty good idea. What the right hand of his righteousness might be, Jesus, right? And so, what a beautiful thing that, unfortunately. In the middle of trying to keep our prayers from hitting off the ceiling, we're going. Man, I'm worried about this.
I'm worried about that. What about this, God? And he's once again, like Exodus 14: be quiet, Robbie. Be quiet. Just realize who you're dealing with here, you know.
My brother was saved with this whole idea, and I love it. There is a God. and I'm not him. Right. Fortunately, he's got the whole world on his hands.
We got Mike also in Dayton, Ohio. Is you guys run a roll today, Mike? What have you got for me?
Well, I love it. This is a great show. The 23rd Psalm, I looked it up and somebody called in and said 23rd Psalm. And um But I wanted to say, you know, after I think about that psalm and I think about things. I start saying to God, I said, God, please use my hands today for your will.
I say, God, please show me what you want me to see today for your will. And I say, God, let me hear what you want me to hear from you and direct my path today. And I I use uh um Proverbs 3, 5, and 6, you know. Uh don lean not on your own understanding, you know. And then that gets me in the spirit of saying, okay, God, I'm listening to you right now.
take me and show me what you want from me today. And that's just an awesome way to start your day. I heard that from another pastor, and I've been doing that since this first of the year, and God's really dealing with me, and He's really using my hands, He's using my heart, He's using my eyes, He's using my ears. and he's using my mouse, and uh and that's the hardest one to control.
So Thank you, God.
So, I mean, I thought maybe that, you know, would help bless someone today. Yeah. Oh, I absolutely love it. is an invitation, right? Right?
And I think it's absolutely amazing that we... Through prayer, right? Um You know, we get this idea that we are inviting him, right? That the that we weren't rushing him. That he he's got the timing thing and and he's going to um to to use that.
And I I I have you ever heard of um Mike, have you ever heard of Saint Patrick's breastplate? St. Patrick's what? Breastplate. It's a prayer.
It was that you ought to look it up. Or I can just actually, since I happen to have your particular phone number, I'll text it to you, okay? Because it's a whole. Thing that talks about invocating the Trinity, but it talks about I arise today through God's strength, God's might to uphold me, God's wisdom to guide me, God's eye to look before me, God's ear to hear me, God's word to speak for me, God's hand to guard me, God's way to lie before me, God's shield to protect me, God's host to save me from the snares of the devil. One of my favorite parts of the prayer is it goes through some other things like that, and it talks about how I'm looking for.
This reward, and here, listen to what it says: that reward may come to me in abundance.
Now, listen to the reward. Christ with me. Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me. Christ beneath me. Christ above me, Christ on my right.
Christ on my left. Christ when I lie down. Christ when I sit down. I love these. Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me.
Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me. Christ and the eye that sees me. Christ in the ear that hears me. That's precious, right? Right.
And again, anybody that is interested in that, I can clearly, if you go to truthnetwork.com or ChristianCargai.com, my email or my Contact information, my phone number is almost everywhere you want to find it, at my website, etc. And I would be delighted to send that to anybody that wants it. It's called, and you can you can Google it. It's it's St. Patrick's Breastplate.
I'll send it to you, Mike, but it is part of my. Um morning Prayer time is to realize that. But, you know, I was really challenged, honestly, by just lingering. Yeah. Yeah, just Just being still and listening, you know, and there's something about that.
Um You know, yeah, I want my son to be saved. I want my, you know, people I know to be saved. I have that list as well. But just sometimes, you know, you just gotta just Listen and God just gives you so much hope. And by listening, you gain hope in Him, and you gain trust in Him, and you have faith in Him.
And you just say, Okay, this is your day, God, and not mine. And man, it's a wonderful relationship that you gather when you humble yourself. In prayer and study, and um, you know, it just is. There's nothing like it. I got that from all our callers today that that just the joy of lingering, just being with him in the sunset, being with him when you rise, being being with him in the moment that you're witnessing, or whatever, where you sense, you know, as Eric Lidde put it, in chariots of fire, I sense his pleasure when I run.
Well You know, then run. You know, how cool is that? And that's the thing, Mike, that, um, All right. Totally agree. Whatever you do in life, you really give the praise to God that he gave you that talent or gave you that thought, you know.
Just give God the praise for what you have special in your life. Watch what happens. He gives you more things. He seems you think, oh, that's you think that's enough. Oh, well, wait, I'm going to give you something else.
You know what I mean? I'll give you a friend on the radio. He will. You know, he certainly gave me. I still stand amazed that I have this opportunity often to be on the radio and often to work with the Truth Network.
That whatever. And then, you know, to have the callers that we had today. Like, man, what a gift! Every one of those. And even Ophelia, who we couldn't get through, you know, her Isaiah 41:10, you know, all those means so much to us as we sense God's pleasure.
Obviously, when we broadcast, my producer sitting there looking at me, I know I sensed his pleasure when he came dancing into the studio before the show. That, you know, he loves the opportunity to screen your calls and to watch what God does here at the Truth Network, Mike. And so. Can I say one more thing? I have the new app, but that's the Truth Network app.
Oh, it is awesome. Oh, it is beautiful. If no one has this app that you can get on your phone and listen to the Truth Network, oh, it is a really well done app, and you really need to download it. And it's It's blessed my life, and I thank you guys for reading. Oh, I love it.
It's beautiful. You know, Stu would be proud of that particular book that you did, Mike.
Well, I hate we gotta go. Once again, thank you, thank you, thank you for your wonderful calls. It means so much to me. I know it means so much to all our listeners to hear how you have lingered with God. Thank you, Mike.
You have an amazing Thursday as we head into Friday tomorrow. God bless. Uh
