Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk the truth news. I can't hide it. I can hold it. A daily program powered by the Truth Network.
This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you what. Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Speak your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. Tonight when we all go to bed, we will be...
Saying goodbye to the longest Yeah. government shutdown in the history of our country in in that When we wake up tomorrow morning, it will be longer than it ever has been that the government's going to be shut down. We're setting a record we don't need to be setting. Yes. When we wake up, all of a sudden we're facing the longest government shutdown of all time, right?
And as we are doing that, you can't help but wonder. If you're a Christian, you know, people come up to you and they want to know, like it says in 1 Peter 3, right? But sanctify the Lord. God in your hearts and be ready always to give an answer. Write to every man that ask you the reason for the hope, That is in you.
In and with meekness and fear. I love that. With meekness and fear. And so. 1 Peter 3:15.
How about you? What would you...
Somebody comes up to you and says, what about this government shutdown? Like How are you praying? You know, what should we be concerned about? Mr. Christian or whatever it is that they however they might Be asking you because there are so many issues in hand in this.
And so we would love to just have a Frank discussion because I can see where people come down in all sorts of different angles on this. 866-348-7884, 866-348-7884. I mean, it's a real opportunity to have compassion, especially for widows and orphans, as it would say in James, right? Dr. Date the Word.
James 1:27, pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this to visit orphans and widows in their trouble. And we're hearing about people now not getting their Food stamps, they're not being able to have the basic necessities met. And Robbie, you'll know this, but for our listeners, that word visit. Episcopus It's the idea of a scope. To to see That which is at a distance up close, a microscope.
a telescope A scope you use on a gun. And I, you know, as we've been thinking about what is going on as we thought the government would be reopened by this time. And we're hearing people in great need. The Christian, the church, eyes wide open. Who out there needs help?
We need to be seeing those needs up close and then meeting those needs. What a great opportunity. Right. And we would love to know your thoughts. 866-348-7884.
If somebody walks up to you, I bet you you can You know, you want to be helpful. You want to give some hope. You want to have some answers about how you feel about things. 866-348-7884. I can clearly see.
That Some of us are feeling like, man, they're holding us hostage. There's a lot of stuff in these bills that. I guess today was the 14th attempt the Senate has made to try to get this The thing passed and once again torn down because there's things in there that are not righteous. Yeah. And so we got a verse for that, too, right?
Doc. You sure do. When you come to Proverbs chapter 11, verse 10. Uh When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. And when the wicked perish, there are shouts of gladness, and righteousness exalts a nation.
And right now, we do believe that there are people in power. Mike Johnson, as a believer, Speaker of the House, you've got others who are looking to make sure that the taxpayers. Money. is being spent on things that are righteous. And we've learned a lot of things over the past few years.
Just unbelievable research for transgender and for homosexual causes that just isn't proper. righteousness exalts the nation.
So right now, there's a lot of a debate going on on whether we should have our government open so that these projects can keep going forward. I'm wondering what our listeners think. Yes, yes, and it is Election Day, right? Yes. And so that's one of the things.
Clearly, You know, we could still have time to get out and vote, right? Yes. It's one of the gifts that we were given, the ability to. To vote for where we feel like this is important. Today is what we would call an off.
year election, but Virginia, it's there's a a governor's race that's very, very important. New Jersey, very, very important. New York City is electing a new mayor. and tomorrow's landscape may look really, really different. after tonight's results come in.
Um Uh I've always been a proponent. Utilize. your right to vote. Um, we we we we are privileged people. I I've been in Soviet Union.
I've been in communist China. And um They may give a semblance of someone getting to vote. They don't get to vote. You will do you're under a dictatorship. We are not.
We are a republic, and you get to vote. And and Robbie, I Every year, it's marked on my calendar.
Now, we don't have anything where we're at right now to be voting on, but in Virginia, where I'm from, again, New Jersey, I think there's some things going on in California that's important. Don't neglect voting. And if you're not registered to vote for next year, get registered. We made a big deal when I was head of school for those who were turning 18, a big celebration, a day to register to vote. You get to be a voter.
Yeah, yeah. And so, you know, I I'm really curious if Better. You know, what are your thoughts? Y you got this situation where you want the Congress to do what's right. But also You know, you don't want it.
Or I hope. You don't want the air traffic controllers to walk out, and everybody that's in the airline industry is all of a sudden with, I mean. without a job. You know, for whatever period of time, a lot of families hurting and all these different issues are all at hand. And so it's a fascinating time.
And obviously, we need to be praying. How should you pray? You know, what are your thoughts on that? How are you praying? 8663487884-86634 TRUTH.
Again, your thoughts, maybe something you've heard or something you've seen that would give us all hope. We would love to hear it, believe me. Because it's it's a gridlock, like mm. I mean, we're hitting the record. We're going in the record books tonight.
Longest shutdown ever. But that also lets us know something. Our government has sustained long periods of shutdowns. Um How much longer can this one go? I don't know.
But I do know we are commanded. Not not given a suggestion, Robbie. We were given a command. To pray for those in authority. And, um, I go by the guide that Solomon said, God, give me wisdom.
And so for anybody in leadership, it's got to be, Lord, we need wisdom. Lord, give them wisdom. Help them to see things that impact the future. Um Leaders create the future. Doing what's best for others.
Right. And another thing Fascinatingly, it's I think about it is grace. right? What we need from all sorts of different angles is grace, right? We need for those that are trying to do what's right to find favor with those that are standing on the edge.
Right? You know, clearly a few votes this way, that way. There's people on the edge that don't know exactly where to stand, and it is a matter of. Favor. It's a matter of grace.
It's a matter of Having God with you, you know The spirit right. Prayer is Completely You know, if there's one thing I know of, I mean, that's one thing that we can clearly do. We got Jamal calling in. We'll hear from him when we come back, but we would love to hear from you. 866-348-7884-866-348.
7884, give us a call. What do you think? on the government shutdown. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Tree Talk Live today.
The government shutdown goes on and on. What? is your answer. to someone who asks you, you know, where's your hope? 8663487884-86634 TRUTH.
How are you praying? You know, what are your thoughts? We would love to hear them. We got Jamal. is in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Jamal.
You're on True Talk Live. Any uh Bill Moore and Dr. Carson, good to hear from you all as usual. I have to be quick, unfortunately. I'm out here doing some poll greeting.
Good for you. Talking about yeah, thank you. You know, talking about the government shutdown and getting involved. I said, Well, I got some time. I might as well try to get involved.
So that's why I have to be quick. Um so with the government shutdown, And people talking about having resources being taken away.
Something I heard from somebody, and I can't remember who, but they said, well, if somebody can give you something. then they have the power to also take it away.
So, um I I understand how some people are in need of something. But if you're in a position to where you can provide for yourself, And that'd be dependent upon anybody. then that means that nobody can take anyway any anything away from you if you could prov provide for it on your own.
Now I do know that we have some disabled people, people uh down on their luck sometimes. And uh we have people in unfortunate situations.
However, as I said to a friend of mine a little earlier, The Bible says if a man doesn't work that's meat, We should not be dependent upon the government. Um and also Um If you can or if you're able-bodied. then that, that gives you no excuse to why You can't do something for yourself. Not everybody's designed to be rich. Understand that?
But if you can provide for yourself, And God gives gave you the means, then that that's what you sh you should do. And uh one last thing. This also could be an opportunity to where people can start looking towards the church. and towards God to provide rather than government. God, from my understanding, put government in place to be a form of justice, not a form of provision.
The churches, from my understanding, started charities, they started schools. Um, and they were feeding people. I I'm sure there's, I'm not the only person that's hearing this and going, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. There's certain people that are losing their jobs currently. Right.
In fact One of those happens to be my son in Florida, who texted me over the weekend because he works for the airline, and there, due to what You know, their lack of whatever air traffic control or whatever, they're laying off people.
Now he's able-bodied and he's working. And so that's I I get th that there's just a whole lot of stuff out there. And that and that's part of the reason that it really puts pressure on everybody to to try to see like, man, Um Uh there are people Undoubtedly, mothers that have been abused, you know, that are in shelters, you know, to put a blanket statement out there that the government doesn't need to help anybody under the current circumstances, I agree. It'd be wonderful if the church all of a sudden would become the church and we wouldn't need the government, but that isn't where we are. Right.
And that's why I said that um you know, this is uh also not including people who are in down situations and also in in unfortunate situations. But I did not talk about people who are government workers.
So that is good to bring up, like guys like your son. And I don't know every situation, but I think that to attack things or look at things biblically. Is the the best way to go.
So for you know, so what's a biblical answer for people like your son who have government government jobs? Just off the top, I can't think of a good answer. But I would rather ask and pray and ask God, you know, what is He going to provide? Um because His word does not come back void. And he owns the Catalan Thousand Hills and all that.
So, God is a provider.
So maybe this is the thing to where something else could be provided. People are in a situation. No, I'm with you, Shamala. Dr. Carson added something.
I see everything you're saying. I'm just trying to figure out something You know, because there's people over here and there's people over there and there's situations. And I like what Dr. Carson said before the show, and it fits the situation perfectly. He says, sometimes it's okay to say, I don't know the answer.
And the good news is the only one that does know the answer clearly is God. And I couldn't agree with you more that it's in His Word. And if there was ever a situation like, man, we got to be praying, but we also got to have compassion. No. And we got to be seen as the people who really, really care, again, to the point that we give.
To somebody that's in need and be the church. I couldn't agree with you more on that, Jamal. And I love where you're coming from. I just. I you know, I wanna um Yeah, it's You know, you know that Jesus' labor love helps single moms, widows, and families in crisis every day.
every single week. There you go. put us in that position. But I also know that some of those poor ladies that have that have been abused by their husbands, etcetera, etcetera, that Man, if there weren't some other programs to help them, I don't know, you know. But it is a call for the church to be what the church is supposed to be.
I agree. Because there is a component of the church can then bring about what's called accountability. When Paul writes to the church there with Timothy in 1 Timothy 5. He didn't say that every widow is supposed to be helped by the church. Just because you're a widow doesn't mean the church is going to take care of you.
There were certain guidelines in place before that widow could get the help from the church that she needed. If the family could do it, then the family should be doing it. We've also got a lot of families right now that are not stepping up, taking care of their family members because of their own greed. I'm going to preach it a little bit here. But then there's the others.
Again, I see a person who all of a sudden has had an accident. Um uh there was a man in our neighborhood. He got hurt on the job, and all of a sudden he could not get his wood in.
So we came together every year about this time to go and help. And then came a point when he died. He's got a widow.
Okay, we drive by her woodshed. It's not filled.
Okay, guys, hey, wait a minute. We haven't got together yet. It was looking in that word visit to visit us to see the need and meet the need, not just, okay, it's there. And we went and cut wood for her to help make sure she had wood for the winter. Wh which is what you're doing really right now, Jamal, out there at the poll, right?
Yep, yep. And since you you gave me a chance to jump in, I'm going to jump in and say good topic, and thanks for allowing me to talk. Take care, and God bless. Thank you, Jamal. And thank you for your service.
My mom was a pole worker. Yeah, yeah, that's awesome. God bless Jamal. We got Buxman is in Dayton, Ohio. Buxman, what's this definitely complicated issue here?
I actually got some some good answers, I think, and I absolutely adore Jamal. Uh I agree with everything that that dear man said. If you're able-bodied to work, you should have no reason. If you're able-bodied to work and you've got a widow in your family, you need to take care of your family. Don't rely on some strangers at a church somewhere.
You guys need to take care of it if you want to be biblical. biblical. If you want it not be biblical, then you're going to rely on the church to do what you should be doing. I hate to be kind of coming down like this, gentlemen, but we're all men, and I know there's men listening to True Talk Quad right now. Here's what we gotta focus on.
And I'm thinking about your son. And when you mentioned your son, Robbie, it reminded me of my dear friend Brian. In Ohio, I live close to, and people know this all around the country, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. It's a very large Air Force installation here in the Dayton, Ohio area. That area.
Air Force Base is just minutes from the Bosque Air.
So my friend His name's Brian. He called me the other day, Dr. Carson and Robbie, and said, Hey, you're not going to believe this, Bossman. I said, What's going on, Brian? He goes, There's no heat.
at the office. I said, excuse me, what did you just say?
Now he works on bass. He works on bass. Wow. Hang on, Bucksman. I hate we gotta go to a break because this sounds fascinating.
But meanwhile, if you've got.
Something you want to say you want to add to the equation, please do. It's completely open. 866-348-7884. We're going to hear more on this when we come back. 866-348-7884.
Give us a call. Bye. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. Today as we enter What is becoming the longest shutdown in American history of the government, and all sorts of issues arise.
Uh You know, what say you? to somebody who's looking for hope, right? What somebody that's looking for like man Under their circumstances, whatever they may be. And of course, they vary from people that are that are wanting to make sure that something happens that's righteous. We're not paying for stuff that we shouldn't be paying for.
And there's things that need to be done for those who really can't take care of themselves. But then there's people that are being funded that could take care of himself or the church should take care of all those sorts of interesting things.
So when we left our hero Bucksman, he was sharing about the heat not being on at the Air Force Base. Yes. Do you still have me there, Robbie? I do, and I'm excited to hear what goes on. There.
Yes. So I talked to my, and he's been working for the base for quite some time as a civilian.
Now he's a retired Air Force.
So he's no longer commissioned by the Air Force, and he works as a civilian. And he and his colleagues showed up to work. And this is about two weeks ago. And he called me and he said, boss. When he says, There's no heat in my office.
I'm going home. And he was very upset. And this man is a diligent Christian man. I mean, he's a solid Christian man, and he hated the fact. that he had to leave work but Uh Rest assured, guys, he's able to do his job from his home office as well.
So um So it's actually doge. Remember when Elon Musk was in power? Yeah, he was the vice president, not J.D. Vance, for a little while. Yeah, I'm gonna say that.
Anyway, when he sh told everybody you got to come back to the buildings.
Well, Brian had to go back to the building. Yeah. fine just working from home and he was diligent and he was trustworthy. He was not You know, sucking off the teeth, if you will, of the government, like people like to say, he was actually working. And uh So he tells me, he says, Boss, when there's no heat, I'm going home.
I said, Brian, Do you think it's because of the shutdown? And he got quiet and he goes, Can't prove it, Bossman. But if a duck smells and quacks and has white feathers and can fly and can swim in water. What would you call that animal? I said, I got you, bro.
I got you. He says, So I called my supervisor, and the supervisor said, Really, there's not watch this, guys. There's nothing we can do. We can try to go in and turn it on manually. And Brian was not, you know, he wasn't one of the maintenance technicians, so he was hoping that the maintenance technicians were.
come and do that. Bye. There you go. Once again, I can't prove that Brian's office and his colleagues' offices were cold. Boy, you know a duck, Dr.
Carson, when it quacks, don't you? Or do you call that a raccoon, sir? I call it a duck. No, I've never heard of raccoons. Whack and whack, whack.
Obviously, there's pressures all over the place, and this is the perfect time for us to share light in the darkness, right? You got it.
Now, that's exactly what. Right, Robbie. Brother Robbie's got this right.
So this is what I do. I think, I try, and I teach my own two children this. I tell them.
Solve the problem. And I give them an ample amount of time while I watch them working a certain thing. And I tell them. Um if you need father, watch this, if you need your father, You call upon me and I will help you. Right.
How's that for teaching a child?
Now I'm talking about my teenagers. They're teenagers. Yeah How's that for teaching the child in the way that they should go so that when they're old they will not depart?
So when they get to be adult children, They can say, Father God, I don't know how to solve this. Exactly. Please, I'm crying out to you. Like I did my own dad. Like I did my own dad, Boston.
And he's long gone now. I can't wait to meet him in heaven with you. Hopefully, my children will say that.
So here's what we do. This is what we do. Two words. Lower. standards.
Lower standards. We're used to $150,000 a year. We're used to $120,000 a year. Since we're not working right now, go ahead and apply at a restaurant. Go ahead and apply at a at a local Walmart.
until you're refurbished back in your government position. You're not talking about lowering standards for the government's point of view. You're talking about the people that are out of work that need a job. Correct. We lower our standards and then the church swoops in with all of their money that they have in their coffers and they say, you know what, we're going to put our building plan on hold.
Our family needs the money. They are part of the stakeholders. of this church money anyway. been faithfully tithing for 20 million years.
However long that family's been going. On there. I use that as a hyperbole to give you the Okay. Yeah, and we take we take that church money, we put the building fund on hold, and we help our people Get to this start. time and who do we give the glory to God.
There you go. So we lower our standards. And we asked the church, hey, we need help. And hey, church people who work for a salary for your church. Why don't you cut off?
Five percent. 10% of what you're taking in from the tithe money and give that to your congregation. There's an idea. There you go. Take a little bit of a hit until our people are back to work.
Well, that's how we all help one another. Bucksman, thank you again, as always. Love you guys. Love you too. Talk to you soon.
Bye. Alright, we got... Chuck is in Greenville, Ohio. Chuck.
So grateful for your call today. And by the way, if you have a word for us, we would love to hear it. 866-348-7884. Thanks for holding on, Chuck. What say you?
Okay, excuse me. Um Well, I I like um a lot of what the previous um caller was talking about. I I know The Bible does talk about Helping widows that are widows indeed. Yes. And also, you know.
to help people that are truly in need. what the President said about Some of the people, I don't know how they would implement this, and I'm not real sure. how to go about it in a in a decent way, but When he said to uh have people take drug tests that are receiving uh government funds And maybe that might be for uh Real chronic. people that there's not really much evidence that they have uh physical disability or something like that. Yeah.
you know Believe me, I I I love The idea of straightening out all the programs All the programs that are being abused, and all those things are entering into the equation. There's always uh people who want to abuse the system. Thus they hurt others who need the help. Uh you don't want to um throw out the baby with the bath water. But Uh we do we need better Um Accountability, that's why I keep going back to the Bible in 1 Timothy 5.
As Paul says, we know there's widows that need help. Who are the widows indeed?
So who are those orphans that are in need? Who is not doing what they should be doing? Hold them accountable. But at the same time as you see something has happened. They need help right now.
Ephesians 4 28 tells me I am supposed to help a person who is in need. Let him who stole steal no longer, but let him labor with his hands that he may have something to give to him in need. Part of my job, as Bucksman was talking about, as I earn a living, is to have an idea of benevolence. How can I help somebody? Who is in need?
The Good Samaritan. I don't want to pass people up that just got beat up. But I'm also not wanting to help somebody who wants me. to just keep funneling to them A money stream so they can live how they want to live. What you just said, Chuck, is right.
How do we make sure that people who are getting financial assistance? deserve it and are not abusing it. These are big questions for those who are in power. And that's why we've got to be praying for those who are in power. And we need those who are righteous.
I was looking at a verse, Rodney, Proverbs chapter 20. Um Uh Proverbs chapter 31 says, Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and the needy. Proverbs 31.9. That's the role of a righteous leader. Exactly.
Exactly. So anything else, Chuck, you you want to add?
Well well yeah. If you wanna If you want to uh Give to The poor and needy What's the best way to do it other than, you know, through your church? Because. How do you judge all these different organizations, whether they're handling the money right? Um And then another thing I I hate to get on my Facebook page sometimes because I've got so many people from Pakistan and from Nigeria.
asking for money and they have all these pictures of little kids that are looks like they're in terrible condition and in uh You don't know. You know, I mean, it just It it it's heartbreaking and yet you don't know if it's real or not.
Well, there's all sorts of challenges out there, Chuck, because I hear what you're saying, you know, just I... Yeah. When you say Give your money to the church.
Okay, when I started the Jesus Labor Love, which is another one of those organizations, right? It's a 501c, and it was founded by a. With the idea of Jesus. I mean, Jesus' labor of love, okay? And I thought, well, all these churches will gladly.
You know, help disciple these people, and we can find them as well. You know what happened? As I started to contact those churches, Chuck?
Well, if you're not we can't help anybody but our own members. Uh-uh. That wasn't from one shorts, Chuck. That was... That was from dozens.
And I was like...
So You know, we all have To really Engage our churches. And we and we have to engage like to look for like where where can I really step in and help Where can I you know where can I really Find out what's going on and help. But there is no simple blanket answer, I'm afraid. It's just. It it is it is just like what it says.
And, Peter, from my standpoint, it's a fair and trembling issue. Like God Help me discern what is right. Is this a real need? One thing we know for sure, Chuck, is we gotta pray. Right?
Yeah. There's a There's a gospel mission in Dayton that is It's real it's they're like a hundred years old and that's That's all they do is, uh help street people, help people in need and uh They even I don't know as much about it now. here recently, but they used to even let people live there and work there. and be part of the ministry and they had a They had a selective process that's. Chuck, I hate we got to go to a break.
You're exactly right. And that's a beautiful thing that's going on there as well. We need to talk about that. Stay with us, Chuck. We'll be right back.
You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Truth Talk Live. Today is we face Challenges. Challenges of long-term government shutdowns and all sorts of Needs or You know? Coming up.
You know, how can we be a light in that world? You know, what are our answers? What are some of the things that we can do? We've got Chuck in Greenville, and we got Mike coming up in Dayton, but we need your call: 866-348-7884-866-34 Truth.
So, Chuck, have you got anything else for us?
Well, I'm praying that New York doesn't um vote in uh uh Marxist uh And um I know I saw I Sort of Yeah.
Well, I guess you just call it a meme, but it was one that somebody made a. Osama bin Laden. And it said, you know, however many years it's been since 9-11, and it had. He's sitting there with the the gun that he used to carry and it had underneath of it I won. If you know, if this guy gets elected.
And with In New York, it's Uh Uh Islamic uh And Marxist Um the the people They say that, uh, the people to a large extent, there's a lot of the people that are really for him.
Well, that undoubtedly a playout. The good news, Chuck, is I do know who won. Oh. Yeah. In other words, we win, man.
I mean, you know, any meme in the world is Jesus wins. You know, all things work together at some level for that. But, you know, again, we can just. Pray for New York, like you said, and light what candles we can. Um And it reminds us that in this republic, There's a component of democracy, and we do have the right to vote.
But there are a lot of people who are not voting. And we also have the right to, as we're doing right now, this free way of having a conversation to get ideas out there and let people think about it. You know, socialism is mutually shared poverty. But people don't always understand that until they start experiencing socialism. Um Hopefully through this, Americans will learn a lot more.
Uh about what the Bible teaches, that that uh Hor good? days labor. brings about a reward. Exactly. Exactly.
Thank you, Chuck. That was awesome. I appreciate your call so very much. God bless you, my friend. Thank you.
God bless you. All right. You're welcome. Bye-bye. All right, how about you?
866-348-7884, 866-348-7884. We got Mike. is in Dayton, Ohio. Mike, what say you? I know you're always lighting a bunch of candles.
I'm very interested in the candles that you'll land. Yeah. Uh yeah, we it was kind of ironic our men's group. Uh was studying the book of James and um We have four guys, three guys, I don't know, three or four guys that are laid you know, laid off from the military or civilian stuff. because of this government shutdown and I I am really proud of the four guys that are there.
Um They would would everybody ask them about their needs and then this and that and They were they're very wise with their money. They put aside money for this rainy day.
Some has went to get another job. And I said, how can I help? I said, Mike, just keep praying for this shutdown. I said, I will. You know, it is awesome to have Godly men around you like that and uh you know and and to um And to understand the book of James, that's what they did.
Um they really did. They they They stored up their they're stored up their uh their goods for for when they need to be taken care of and they listen to God and they uh They were just awesome, men of God. It just. I just I wish I was that wise with my money sometimes. You know what I mean?
It's a beautiful thing, right? That the Bible really does have the answers. Yeah. helping people see the need. Yeah.
To dive into the word and pray and ask God for wisdom. like you said, in in in good times and then when you're in bad times, You know, like Joseph, he he stepped in. and provided plans to help provide for people. And a lot of our problems right now is that we spend more money than we bring in. That's been a problem for a long time, not just with our government, but with us as personal households.
And my grandmother was a very. frugal, if you will. And and she taught these principles of you have to be ready for a rainy day. Do not spend all of your money. Um I she taught me the 10, 10, 80 principle.
Have you ever heard of the 10-10-80 principle? You give the first dime to God, you then save the next dime, and then you live off of the 80 cent left over. And uh what I tried to do with our family was we're going to do 10, 10 and 75. And that other 5% then would literally be be put into that bucket for the rainy day because bad things do happen. You know, the the furnace is going to all of a sudden not work.
The washing machine is going to have to be replaced.
So how do you plan for those kind of things? And good financial stewardship. Will help a lot of people if they'll be saving money and have it ready for those bad days. Right, when you when you find the good times. And so Yeah.
Go ahead, Mike. Yeah, I wouldn't say that I was horrible at my finances. But I was just really proud of theirs. Oh, yeah, I get it. And it is wonderful to see You know Godly men in a crisis like that.
Yeah. And what would they... Um you know, from your standpoint, how would they respond to somebody who didn't?
Well, they were willing to, you know, they were having this. For this Christmas, we're giving uh needy families uh things our church is for this. And they're giving to that. They're talking about it. They're looking forward to be, you know, and we're getting the bangles over from the.
Some bangle guys to come into our church to help with help with the families. It's so cool that our church is doing stuff like this. And, Mike, we are a national show, so you're going to have to help out some people on bingles.
Now, what bingles are you talking about? Robbie doesn't know about these bingles. Oh yeah, I'm gonna go. The Cincinnati Bengals.
Okay.
Okay.
I don't know if it's a defense or offense, but hopefully it's their offense. But anyway.
Now I'm more confused than ever. You're getting over.
Some football players.
Some football players from Cincinnati coming your way to Dayton, and they're going to be helping out. Helping out the people that are in need during this Christmas. It is it's it's so awesome that our church is um have men that are just putting hours and time and effort and And all this into it is They they inspire me, you know what I mean? And uh I think that's how you renew yourself by l Being around people that inspire you. You know what I mean?
That's very important as a Christian. to be around men than and women that just lift you up and and and make you push you Harder into Christ. You know what I mean? Yeah, and Paul himself is telling you, too. Yeah.
In Romans 12, he. He begins after offering your body as living sacrifices to go on and tell them by the grace that was given to him. And it's telling you that. He had tremendous grace. And so You know, he was loving on these people, showing them the ways.
To get grace to use their gifts, right? Which is kind of where we all are right now. Like, we all have gifts to share. They may be financial. They may be the ability to help fix a car.
They may be. Whatever gift that you have, it was given by grace. And so, with grace, we get a chance to find.
Somebody to Help. You know, and just like your friends are doing, or just like the Bengals are doing, even though they're an inferior team. No, I'm just kidding. Yeah. Yeah.
You know, because the Panther, you know, up against a Bengal, it just doesn't go well. I'm just kidding. I could. No, but you know what I'm saying. In other words, here these guys are, right?
They're using the gifts that they have in their platform as a bengal to come in there. And, you know, there's Panthers that do that as well. Each believer has different gifts. Manifold grace has been given to us, 1 Peter 4:10, to minister to one another. Right.
And the way that ministry takes place is in so many different ways. Right. And that to me, as I think of that, if. If we really, you know. Ask ourselves.
You know Where can I help? What can I do? Obviously, I can pray. Obviously, I can look for situations like these guys are doing, Mike. And kind of, that's where we are.
But also, you know, to. to vote and to speak. Biblical truths, as we've heard from so many wonderful callers today, that those things are important to understand. This is wisdom. Um The Bible has much to say about government leadership.
Right, exactly. Yeah, it's an awesome opportunity, and I'm so grateful for your call today. Mike, as always. And uh I hope you guys have a a spectacular Wednesday to go be at your church or whatever you guys do on Wednesday down there. Are you gonna meet with them tomorrow?
Yeah, we well Well, we met yes last night, and we have small groups, and so they're all through the week. I go to two or three of them, so they're awesome. I mean, that is awesome.
Well, Doc, I'll give you the last word.
Well, I just wanted to say go bucks because I was at the bucket I gave last Saturday. Another inferior team. I can't play. Oh, no. But pray for our nation.
Pray for our leaders. I know. IO.
