Uh Welcome to Truth Talk Live. All right, let's talk the truth news. I can't hide it. A daily program powered by the Truth Network. This is kind of a great thing, and I'll tell you what.
Where pop culture, current events, and theology all come together. Seek your mind. And now, here's today's Truth Talk Live host. Hey, this is Michael Zwick. Oh boy, do we have a show for you today?
We've got a Mike show. Shreve. You know, there's a lot of talk these days about yoga and about the new age and about all of the hip new trendy things. And they seem so good and they sound good. But are they biblical?
And Mike, you actually grew up as a Catholic, is that right? That's correct. I was very involved in Catholicism. I was an altar boy. I went to a parochial school.
Uh most of my learning years and I was on my way to the monastery at one point, so I was very steeped in Catholicism at one point. Yeah, and then you actually, it's funny, my wife is from right outside of Tallahassee. You ended up going to Florida State University, and then you kind of had a change of heart and a change of mind. Is that right? That was a turning point in my life.
Yeah. But uh of course, there's a lot of gaps to fill in here and there, but At the time I was not very religious. I was a rock musician. I was attending Florida State University. And I had a near-death experience that shook me up and made me reevaluate my life.
And I decided I needed to find truth and find God, and I figured if I found one, I'd find the other.
So I dropped out of college with that intention.
Okay, what happened then?
Well, I met an Indian Guru. That was back in the nineteen seventy, back when there was a lot of interest in gurus and swamis and yogis. Coming to the US because the Beatles were studying under Maharishi Meheshogiyan.
So it was very trendy. And I met a man named Yogi Bhajan and became very committed to his particular sect of yoga Um I started living in the Nashville. in Daytona Beach, Florida. And It was a very disciplined life. Fourteen hours a day, we were involved in yoga.
in some way. Physical asanas, which are the exercises, pranayama, which are the breathing exercises. meditation, mantra, yoga, reading, the Bhagavad Gita, reading Other uh Hindu sources literature sources. But we were very, very involved.
Okay, so you got involved. This became, I guess, your thing, so to speak.
Now, did you, you know, we all know that as Christians, we can have some wonderful experiences.
So, when I first became a Christian, I was excited and on fire. And then everybody started to tell me I was crazy. And then one night, I was about 26, 27 years old, I had a folder and I only had one sheet of paper in it. And I said, God, I need to know that you're real. Will you show me something?
And I opened up that folder again and there were now two sheets of paper. And me being full of faith, I said, Well, God, I just want you, I want you to show me one more time. And I closed the folder and I opened it again, Mike. And there were now three sheets of paper. And after that point, I never questioned God again, I never doubted him again or anything like that.
But you can also have some experiences that seem really good, but they're outside of Christ. Is that right? Oh, yeah, there's a supernatural phenomenon that goes along with yoga. A lot of people believe. that yoga is just tuning up your body, it's just physical a physical regimen in order to become healthier.
Um Yet uh the very word yoga means yoke. Uh it comes from a Sanskrit word which is Indian language. It means yoke. And the implication is you are yoking yourself with Brahman. And Brahman is Ultimate reality in Hinduism.
Most Hindus believe. that the highest reality and the highest level of consciousness that you can attain is blending in or merging with Brahman. Brahman is an impersonal life force. Um The best way I can explain it where it's understandable to people is likening it to of the force. On Star Wars.
Brahman is not a personal God, but the life force in every tree, every animal, every human being. And so The whole goal of yoga is to reach a higher consciousness where you're aware. of your own divine nature that's innate within every human being. Which, of course, as a Christian now, I do not believe, I do not believe every human being has the essence of God within them. That doesn't happen.
Until we're born again. And that's when the Spirit of God comes in us. According to Hindu theology, God is within every human being. to find God you look within. And that that contrast realizing that contrast was actually what turned me to a search.
For Jesus had a later date in my life.
So yeah, you had gotten pretty heavy into this. And then you said, was it 1971? You had a friend of yours who was into yoga as well when something happened to him. Is that right? Well, uh yeah, well it was nineteen seventy actually.
Um I believe that's the only thing that I've done. When A friend of mine, well, both of us had dropped out of college at the same time for the same reason. And that was to search for God through Eastern religions. He went to study under a different group. And He wrote me this wild letter.
To me, at the time it was wild, where he said he had walked in a church. and he heard an audible voice say Jesus is the only way. And the Spirit of God fell on him. And he was born again. which was a term I'd never heard as a Catholic.
And that intrigued me. I thought, what is this being born again all about? And He explained it in the letter that when he received Jesus as Lord of his life, and that Jesus was the only way, and he explained the cross. explain the resurrection. And I thought this is so different than what I believe.
And at the time, my life had evolved to the point where I was actually running a yoga ashram myself in Tampa, Florida, and I was teaching Kundalini Yoga at four universities in that area. And I had about 300 students who considered me their quote unquote guru. And the word grew Has as its source two root words, gu and ru, that mean out of darkness into light. And the problem was, I wasn't in the light yet and trying to lead others there, and you can't do that.
So anyway after I got that letter from my friend, I figured I'm a truth seeker. And even though Christianity does not make logical sense to me, Sure, I'll open my heart to it one day. I'll devote one day to it, and I believe if Jesus is real, he'll show me. And so that day I didn't do any of the physical exercises, which incidentally, Mike. Uh those exercises, every single one of them most people do not realize this, are invocations to individual Hindu deities.
every single yoga exercise Is dedicated to a specific God or goddess, and it's an invocation for that God to come and manifest in your life. And so it's. A very dangerous thing that opens up spiritual Portals if you want. Uh Uh that's kind of um Uh A strange term. But it's the best way of describing how it opens a person up to demonic influence.
by participating in that. Anyway, I didn't do any physical exercises. I didn't do any meditation. I didn't chant any mantras. That day I decided I'm going to the chess.
Pray to Jesus. Pray to the Father, pray to Jesus. And read the Bible, and if he's the only way to heaven, like Larry says. I believe you'll show me. And I prayed all day long.
And read the Bible. The two books I read were the Gospel of John and the book of Revelation. And the book of Revelation is a pretty heavy book to start out with. It is. And Mike, we're going to a break right now, but right after the break, and I know everybody wants to hear, we're going to hear what happened next on that day where you chose to listen to Jesus.
We'll be right back on Truth Talk Live. Truth Talk Live You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.
Well, welcome back. This is Michael Zwick, and we've got a Mike Shreve out of Cleveland, Tennessee. And Mike has been on Sid Roth at Supernatural twice. He's been on CBN, TCT, and just about everywhere. But before we were finished with the break, Mike was saying that he was into yoga, heavily into yoga, kundalini yoga.
And then one day he said, Jesus, he said, if you're real, I'm going to give you one day. I'm not going to look for anything else. I'm going to look for you. And I'm going to let you go ahead. But first, I was looking at 1 Corinthians 15, verse 51, and it says, Behold, I tell you a mystery.
We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. And Mike, you were changed in one day. Is that right? Yes, absolutely. It was a radical change.
And I guess I need to back up and tell you that something else was taking place too. The Tampa Tribune newspaper Thought I was an oddity in the community, so they sent out. a reporter to do a story on this person that had started a yoga ashram in Yeah. And I thought it would be a great advertisement for what I was doing and it would increase my classes. I had no idea would alert a prayer group in town to start praying for me, and it was a twenty four hour prayer chain So they cut the article out, made copies, sent it to all the prayer chain members.
And somebody was fasting and praying for me every hour of every day. How do you escape intercession like that, right? You can't. And and it gets even more intense. Because the day that I dedicated to Jesus I had spent the whole day in solitude, and that afternoon, I was hitchhiking at the University of South Florida in Tampa to teach a yoga class there.
And one of the members of the prayer group who just Quote unquote, just happened to be a former yoga devotee himself.
So he could communicate with me, he knew my lingo. He was two miles away. When I stepped out on the road hitchhiking, And He was walking in a launder mountain hole. His spirit told him to get back in his van and start driving, which he thought was strange. And I'm standing on the side of the road, and he sees me hitchhiking, he pulls over.
While I was hitchhiking, I was still praying, Jesus, this is your day. If you're the only way to heaven, if you're the only way to A relationship with God, give me a sign, and this band pulls over. And I opened the door and looked in and on the ceiling of his band was a picture of Jesus. Press new is my answer. I mean, undeniable.
I mean, that's not a coincidence. It's a God incidence. And a few minutes later, He began sharing with me how he had been born again a few months prior. And so I Opened my heart to it. I knelt down with him in the band and I said, Jesus, if you're there, I surrender to you.
Be Lord of my life. I ask you to wash my sins away in your blood, and I believe you rose from the dead and that I can be born again. And it happened. And it was so real. It was so undeniable.
That I went to my yoga class that afternoon and announced to all my students. that unknowingly I had misled them. and that Jesus is the only way. which was quite a shock to them. And I w uh I went to all my other yoga classes that week and there were f four universities I was teaching at altogether.
And said the same thing, and I shut down my yoga ashram immediately because I knew. Then yoga and Christianity could not mix. And that Claiming Christianity that try and mix it in with the yoga. yoga practice and it's just uh impossible to do that without contamination spiritually. Because even the The Hindu leaders say there's no yoga without Hinduism, there's no Hinduism without yoga.
Because Yoga is the path to samadhi. in Hinduism. and samadhi is the highest state of consciousness And it's supposedly the point where you realize your oneness with God, and for many Hindus, not all Hindus, but for many Hindus, that means that you come to a realization that you are God. which is the absolute opposite of the truth. because if there's ever been a deception, that's a deception.
To believe that you are the manifestation of God in this world.
Now, let me ask you something right there. Is that similar to Christ's consciousness? Yes. In fact, Christ Consciousness is just another name. There's quite a few names for that state of mind It's also called self-realization, it's called God consciousness, it's called samadhi.
Uh in Hinduism. And it's all basically the same thing. It's this idea that you come to the realization that you are God and that you are one with the Godhead, And uh Of course, that's Very closely akin to what Eve was tempted with in the Garden of Eden. In fact, it's the same source of the deception, the devil that. that tried to deceive her.
Has influenced millions of people through demonic influence around the world to try and believe the same thing. Yeah, something very similar. And I've also heard it's maybe similar to pantheism as well.
Well, it is based on pantheism. And for the sake of those who don't understand what that means. Pantheism is a Hindu belief. Bag. Thirty.
The entire universe is not a creation of God, but rather a manifestation of God. And therefore, everything has a divine essence: the tree, the cat, the dog, every human being. is divine at its core. And So you come to this wonderful realization supposedly Where that's the part of you that you relate to, not the physical part that's going to pass away. And then also, A very strong belief attached to yoga is a belief in reincarnation.
And Jesus did not teach reincarnation, he taught resurrection. And so there's a vast difference between those two points of view. There's many contrasts. And incidentally, Mike, I might mention that I Have a website, the true light.net, the true light.net. And on it is a free book.
where I go into a lot more detail about my testimony and about the contrast between the biblical worldview and the yogic worldview I once embraced. And any of your listeners are welcome to go there and download the book free of charge. And it's available there in 14 languages. Absolutely. Yeah, go to the website the true light.net.
And you know, one of the things I was thinking about is when you see the movies, the bad guy, he looks bad. He looks evil. You know, when you see the movies, the devil, he's got the red horns and all of this other stuff. And so I think sometimes when we expect to see something bad, we expect it to look bad. But the Bible says that the angel comes as an angel, the devil comes sometimes as an angel of light.
He's a light bearer. He looks great, but below the surface is something very evil. I've seen many Christians get involved in yoga, and it seems innocent at first. Because it's just a way um Tuning up their bodies, and then some would go as far as saying it brings them peace and. They feel like they're achieving some kind of harmony.
Between the spirit, soul, and body through quiet meditation and things like that. But then they start dabbling in the Eastern philosophy that's attached to it. Like, for instance, I had one Christian come to me not long ago and And argue with me a little bit that it was not wrong for them to be involved in a yoga class. And they said, well, when everybody in the class starts chanting om, I don't participate. I just bow my head and I say, Jesus.
And I said, why would you want to do that? That's like going in a temple of idolatry. And trying to worship God. in that same atmosphere that is rife with demonic influence. Because the word om, again, it's one of those things that people don't.
Fully understand or comprehend it first. That word OM is supposedly according to Hindu and New Age thought. The original primordial sound that was uttered when the universe was manifested. And so if you chant OM, you come into oneness with the universe and oneness with God. Jesus didn't say that.
He said, don't use vain repetitions like the heathens. And we will be right back. We're going to get more to your story about how you came to Christ. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. All right, this is Michael Zwick.
We are back with Mike Shriven. And Mike, before we left for the break, you were saying that you can't mix good and evil. You can't mix Christianity with the Eastern religions or yoga or anything like that. And sometimes it can be a slippery slope for some people because they're looking for an out. But the Bible talks about how we can't mix light and darkness.
So keep going. What were you saying?
Well, I was talking about someone who had tried to attend a yoga class where they were chanting OM, and they said that they just didn't participate. But unknown to most people, the word own supposedly was the primordial word. In other words, it was the word that was spoken when the universe was manifested in the beginning, according to Hindu philosophy.
So when you chant the word om, you are coming into that same vibratory level Where your soul is becoming sensitive to the source of all things, and you become. More and more one with Brahman by quoting or by chanting that word, and also. Uh that word is taught to have a triune connection to Where it's stretched out when you chant the word om, you stretch it out into the sounds A. Uh M And Each one of those letters is supposed to represent a different Hindu deity. Uh it represents Bra uh Brahma.
Which is different than Brahman. Brahma is the creator god. Vishnu is the preserver god in Hinduism, and Shiva is the destroyer. Sheba is The destroyer Uh that That uh To me, it is very representative of the one that we know as the destroyer, the enemy who comes to kill, steal, and destroy. But anyway, when you're chanting that word, You're invoking those three Hindu deities to come and fill your life and manifest in your life.
So I would not want to be in a room when people are doing that. Because that's like the mistake they made when the Philistines put the ark. in the Temple of Dagon. and they tried to put the true God in a room with a false God. that was half fish and half man.
Dagon, and when the priests of Dagon came the next day, the idol had fallen on its face and it was decapitated and also its hands cut off the day following.
So That was God's way of saying you can't mix. You can't mix a false. concept of God, a false approach to God with the true approach to God. And so I tell people just to leave it alone. Go run on a treadmill, lift weights.
Mm-hmm. Do something that is not associated with spirituality at all. Because yoga is inextricable from A An attempt to heighten your spiritual awareness through the practice of yoga. And so even if people don't get into that heavier philosophical side, they're still walking around the edges of it. And I'd rather be separated from it altogether.
Yeah, and so you can put lipstick on a pig, but it is still a pig.
So definitely. And so, but then you met Christ. How did Jesus Christ change your life?
Well, it was abrupt and it was powerful. I shut down my yoga ashram, as I mentioned, and I went and joined the Christian commune in Central Florida. And My whole life was biblically centered then. I was part of a prayer meeting. It met seven days a week.
We met at seven o'clock at night, and we would pray and read the Bible till twelve o'clock, and I found a wholeness. I found peace. when I invited Jesus into my heart, I was Brought to completion. And there's a God-shaped hole in every human being that can't be filled by anything else except. the Lord Jesus Christ.
And incidentally, Mike, one thing that really grabbed my attention. In those formative days, that transition time where I was. being freed from a yogic mindset and becoming a Christian. One thing that my former guru had said Kind of stuck in my thinking. He said that Jesus was an avatar.
And because Jesus was an avatar, he could only speak the truth. And instantly, when you say avatar now, people think it means a representative image in some computer game. Or maybe a representative image on a social media page. But originally the word avatar meant a manifestation of God in this world. where God took on A form, an image.
And according to Hinduism, there have been many avatars and In the realm of yoga, they believe A great number of the gurus, the swamis that have been famous in this world were actually avatars or manifestations of God. But anyway. This former guru I studied under said Jesus was the greatest of all avatars And because he was an avatar, he could only speak the truth. And that kind of stuck in my head. I thought he could only speak the truth.
Well, I need to find out what he said. And I started reading the Gospels. and found so many contradictions. like I mentioned a while ago, Matthew chapter six, In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, use not vain repetitions like the heathen do.
So he definitely taught against children. Yeah. Because Chanting a mantra is treating God like a computer program. You insert the right formula in order to bring out the desired results.
Well, you don't approach. a fellow human being that way. You don't ask me. Your husband to take the garbage out by repeating the same phrase in a monotone way a hundred times. I don't think he'd be very responsive.
Um Or you don't ask your wife to wash the dishes by repeating in a monotone. Voice Please wash the dishes over and over again. you talk to a fellow human being Who is an intelligent person who can comprehend what you're saying with a flow of language? And that's what prayer should be. Not treating God like a machine or in a mechanical way, which is what.
the chanting of mantras does. And that was just one thing. The former guru I studied under taught reincarnation, and yet Jesus. Taught resurrection. He said, This is the will of the Father which has sent me that of all He has given me, I should lose nothing, but should raise him up.
The last day.
So he taught Definitely these physical bodies would be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye. And he also taught his disciples to keep the commandments. And the first commandment is: I am the Lord your God, you shall have no other gods before me. And there's 330 million gods and goddesses in Hinduism. And so it's a breach of the First Commandment to the highest degree.
It's uh it's impossible to merge the two world views together. And the more I learned about the teachings of Jesus, the more I saw that I had gotten off in something very dark and very dissected. And so I urge people not to do yoga. And uh not uh and to find another way. um approaching uh a better physical a healthy status in life.
Well, there are Christians that I've heard recently who say that they believe in reincarnation. Is that compatible with Christianity? Absolutely not. Because uh in reincarnation there's no room for forgiveness coming from God. reincarnation is inseparable from the idea of karma.
And karma is the uh some people Feel like karma is just a different word to describe the law of sowing and reaping in the Bible. But it's a completely different, or it's a very different. concept The law of karma is an exact reproduction of what you do. If you steal from uh A hundred different people, then you have to have something stolen from you a hundred times. and it comes back to you either in this life or in a future life.
And I I have a An article on the true light.net on 15 reasons I no longer believe in reincarnation. It would take. A long time for me to go into all 15 reasons, so I know we don't have time now. But one major thing is it's a self-achieved Salvation. Because the only way to get out of the cycle of rebirths is to become a perfect person.
and to have no negative karma.
Well, that's A futile endeavor to try and become a perfect human being. That's not going to happen. And according to Hindu teaching, that's sometimes going to take hundreds of thousands of Incarnations into this world before you're able to rid yourself of all. Negative karma. But Jesus promises to wash your sins away in his blood.
Revelation 1, 5, and 6 says unto him. Uh that Washed our sins in his own blood and has made us kings and priests, and we shall reign on the earth. Um So That's not compatible. with the Hindu or the yogic worldview at all. And those are just a couple of reasons.
And there's quite a few different ones. Mm-hmm. Yeah, the uh and then you you know, you said you you joined a commune out in uh and and where you were around other Christians. And I think at one point you said you actually sold pretty much everything you had, except for one extra outfit. Yeah, after about six months in the Christian commune.
I Was sitting around a campfire with another brother in the commune. And he showed me Luke chapter 14, where Jesus said, Except a man forsake all, he cannot be my disciple. And he said, Do you know anybody doing that? And I said, No, no, I don't. He said, Let's do it.
I said, Okay, why not? I'm game.
So the next day we gave away all our money to the poor. and all our possessions. And we struck out hitchhiking, preaching the gospel on street corners and college campuses. all across the United States, and I've never stopped traveling since. I've gotten a little bit more normalized.
I speak in churches and conferences now. and not just on street corners, but I haven't stopped traveling. I'm still doing evangelistic work. I just came back from Pakistan. In fact, we had.
almost one hundred people saved over there in the meeting that we conducted.
So It's um It's the life. It's being able to produce fruit for the Father's glory that endures forever. And that's a privilege and an honor and a blessing. Amen. And we will be right back for our final segment.
I want to know what Mike is doing these days. He went out, he was hitchhiking, but God has some things for you to do as well, even in maybe your 70s.
So we'll be right back after the break. Truth talks. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. All right, well we are back with Mike Shreve, but in our final segment, I want to start off with this. It's John chapter 1.
It says, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him. And without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to bear witness about the light that all might believe through him. And he's talking about Jesus. Jesus absolutely loves you.
And it seems like when you got rid of everything, when you sold all of your possessions, Mike, then Jesus said, I can trust you. And he's used you for all of these years. Is that right? Well, we've seen some wonderful things happen. In fact, That first chapter of John provided the inspiration for the name of one particular outreach of our ministry, which is called the True Light Project.
because it says that Jesus was the true light. delights every person who comes into the world.
So If that be so, then that implies there's a false light. And there is a false light because many people go after various religions, Mormonism, Jehovah's Witness, Buddhism, Shinto, Islam, all these other religions. There's over four thousand religions that claim to be the quote unquote light in darkness. And so we started this project called the True Light Project. And it's all about comparing The beliefs of various religions of the world to authentic biblical Christianity.
We've seen over 5 million people come to the website. uh which is the true light dot net And people Are quite often getting saved by coming there and reading the testimonies, reading the articles. watching the videos. And so that's one aspect of what The ministry has evolved into. I've never stopped traveling.
I speak in churches and conferences and so forth. But We also have a lot of outreach on the interstate. On the Internet. I'm sorry. I've been driving on the Interstate all afternoon.
Well, the truth is, that's really where you got your start. You were hitchhiking. And you said you were actually preaching. And when you went to some colleges, you had up to a thousand kids come and listen to you. Is that right?
Oh, wow. Yeah, one time, one time I was at. Oh, what was the name of that school? It was in central North Carolina. Appalachian State University.
That's where I went to school. Oh, no. Oh, no. What a connection. Yeah.
Anyway. When I walked on campus, I was expecting just to witness one-to-one for the remainder of the afternoon. And there was this helicopter that was making deep sweeps over the campus green areas, a big open area where a lot of students gathered. And dumping out boxes of ping pong balls. And I found out later on it was a fraternity deal where you got a dollar for every ping-pong ball or some kind of promotion.
And there was probably fifteen hundred kids out there diving and and bumping into each other and crawling over each other to get a Ping pong ball, and the Lord spoke to my heart and said, when it's all over, stand up and start preaching. And so I found this little hill at the edge of the field. And when the helicopter quit coming over, I stood up and started preaching, and about a thousand kids sat down. and they listened to me preach for over an hour. And th that was, of course, during the Jesus Revolution.
Where incredible things like that happened, and quite a few people were saved as a result. And we had real great real great fruit come out of that.
So Anyway, any w any method we can use bring people to Jesus. is worth Pursuing. Absolutely. In Mark 16, 17, and it says this, and these signs will accompany those who believe. In my name, they will cast out demons.
They will speak in new tongues. They will pick up serpents with their hands. And if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them. And here it is: it says they will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. And you've seen a few miracles in your days.
Is that right? Oh, definitely. In fact, in our meetings, that's one of the main things we do is we Pray in expectation of God providing miraculous healings. And I've seen major things happen. I could describe just one.
Not long ago, they brought a lady to one of our meetings that had muscular dystrophy, and she couldn't even walk. She couldn't spend over an hour out of bed every day. She if she had to get out of bed and no one was in the house to help her, she'd roll over and fall on the floor and crawl. to the bathroom. That's how devastated she was.
by this disease. And two of her friends brought her to the meeting, holding her up under her arm. She had crutches. Two. Two cane-like crutches she was holding on to.
And She dragged her way in. and sat down. Then I preached on healing that night. And Told those that wanted a miracle to come to the altar area. And her she turned around to her friends, and they picked her up and brought her up to the altar.
They let her down in the ultra. She kind of collapsed in the ultra because she couldn't stand. And I walked over to her. and said, uh, why don't you just lift your hand And praise God. For your miracle.
I didn't know she'd never been born again. She was part of a nominal church and she. She never acts. Jesus to be Lord of her life. And she never invited him into her heart.
And so she lifted her hand and started praising God. And she told me later on when she did that, It was like this gust of air or breath came through her three times. and she was immediately healed. And she had this encounter with Jesus where she knew. That he was real, and she stood up and held up her crutches in her hands and walked around the room without any help.
And it was a remarkable, undeniable miracle And she and her family all Quit their jobs and went, or her husband and sons all quit their jobs, and along with her, they went to Bible college and they all became ministers.
So Uh they all started ministering at a Christian camp where she had gotten healed.
So God still works miracles today. He hasn't stopped He's the same to one thousand generations. He said, I'm the Lord. I do not change. I'm the same yesterday, today, and forever.
And I'm sure you've had some tough times as well.
Well, yeah, we've we've faced some struggles. both of my children America's Uh both of my children had really terrible Decorations made over them by the doctors. My daughter, especially, when my wife was five months pregnant with her. The doctor took an ultrasound and came in with a very glum look on his face and said, See the dark spot at the base of her spine? She's got spina bifida.
Showed us a blood report and said she's got cretinism, which is severe retardation. He said she'll probably never walk, never talk. And uh then In the suggested in bail language, he suggested abortion and Yeah. Was immediately a turnoff to us, and we jumped up to leave, never intending to come back. And as we were walking out of his office, the Lord spoke to my wife audibly.
And And he said, Your daughter will dance. on the streets of Jerusalem. The doctor just said she'd never walk. God said she would dance. And when we got to the car, My wife Turn out.
Yeah. And and it came on that old country Western song, I Hope You Dance. And it's a Christian country Christian song, I Hope You Dance. And she turned around crying and said, Mike, that's a confirmation. That's a confirmation that God is really going to heal our daughter.
And we prayed over her for the next four months when she was born and she was born perfect.
So Yeah, uh we've fought the good fight of faith many times. and find out that God is faithful. And his word is true. And uh I just encourage everyone that's listening to be a light. Jesus said, I am the light of the world as long as I'm in the world.
But now that He's left, He tells us to occupy that position until He comes. see the light of our world and keep shining the truth. He absolutely does. And it says in the book of Joel chapter 2, verse 28, and it says, And it shall come to pass afterwards that I will pour out my spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.
And we've heard so much about the Jesus movement, but now I'm hearing all over CBN, all over TV, really on Fox News, even that there is a revival going on right now in America. Oh, there is. There is. There's great things happening. And I'm thrilled.
We just launched a new outreach with our ministry to Catholic people. And it's based on a website uh The address is to CatholicswithLove.org. And I wrote a book called The Beliefs of the Catholic Church. And uh I'm Very encouraged that many Catholics are opening up again. To the experience of being born again and having an encounter with the Holy Spirit.
And just like the 70s and 80s, when it was such a surge. Among Catholics, of people being born again. Back then, I had priests and nuns come to my meetings. And ask me to pray for them to receive this encounter with the Lord. And I see that kind of hunger.
Surfacing again. I'm very encouraged and very thrilled to be a part of the work of God in these last days because anybody can look at what's happening in the world and see that the signs. Are manifesting very blatantly. Jesus is coming again, and we've got to get the harvest in before he comes. Absolutely.
And it's thetruelight.net. Is that right? That's right. And they can go there and download the booklet called The Highest Adventure, Encountering God. It's there in 14 different languages and it's free.
And I go into a lot more More deep about what I believe is a yoga teacher and how that contrasts with biblical truth.
Well, thanks for coming on today, Mike. We'll talk to you soon.
