Welcome to Truth Matters with Dr. Cheryl Davis and the final episode of Desperate Housewives, where God's responsibilities and built a family outside of the will of God, but God had grace. The Bible says God's grace is sufficient for whatever situation I am in. His power is made perfect in our weakness. Sarah, in a weak moment, took action when she was to stand still. But what about when standing still is dangerous?

What about when standing still is pure misery? God knows our great moments and our weak moments. He knows our faith and our disbelief. He knows our hope and our doubt. He knows our triumphs and our failures. He knows our light and our darkness. He knows our joy and also our pain. He knows our endurance and our abandonment. He knows our calm and our anger. He knows our thoughts, our emotions, and even our pity parties. His grace is sufficient moment by moment, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, tear by tear, and come apart by come apart. And I can say today that I've lived in all of those situations. I've lived in situations of persecution where I've had to go moment by moment and minute by minute, but his grace is sufficient for whatever situation I have been in.

God is grace. How did it work for Sarah? Abraham listened. He slept with Hagar and she conceived.

He's a great husband. See, he follows directions. Quickly, the next verse. Abraham listened.

He slept with Hagar and she conceived. He followed Sarah's directions. Quickly. Next verse. Abraham listened. He slept with Hagar and she conceived.

Quickly. Right in the next verse. When she was pregnant, Hagar despised Sarah. Sarah blamed Abraham. Hagar leaves and Christ appears to her in the desert and tells her to go back and submit herself to Sarah. Ishmael was born. We're dealing with Ishmael's descendants 4,000 years later.

The angel of the Lord told Hagar he will live in hostility towards his brother. The present-day ISIS battle between Israel and Palestine can be linked to taking matters into our own hands, which is sin. Is this you? Are there situations that you have not waited? Are there situations that you've walked out of?

Are there situations that you've made a complete mess of? Look at Sarah. The consequences of her decisions have lasted 4,000 years.

I don't think it can get much worse than that as far as time frame. Sarah was imperfect, plain and simple, but so are we. But God knows that and he blessed her anyway.

In Genesis chapter 17 verse 15, and when Abraham was approximately 99 years old, 25 years since the first covenant, it says, As for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai. Her name will be Sarah. I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations, kings of people will come from her.

Thank God there's a second act to this drama. Sarah went on to a name change, a child in her 90s and nations of descendants. Her blessing was big and she was blind to it until it happened.

There's one key point. Sarah's blindness did not prevent her from her blessing. I'm going to say that again. Sarah's blindness did not prevent her from her blessing. Let's go back to Galatians 4 and 27. More are the children of the desolate woman. Isaac was the child of the promise and he was a supernatural gift. Those promises of God and those supernatural gifts are without repentance.

Promises from God are permanent, so permanent that Sarah's descendants outnumbered the sand on the seashore. Have some of you heard from God in the form of a promise but you are blind to its fulfillment? Are you waiting for the Lord to manifest himself in your life? Some of you have been waiting for a very long time for God and he is silent. Some of you may have already given up on that promise and buried it and moved on, but in your heart the Lord reminds you. Some of you may have already taken matters into your own hands and have gotten ahead of God and now you are living with regret. God's grace is sufficient for whatever situation you are in today. This has been Truth Matters with Dr. Cheryl Davis, reminding you that when God puts you on hold, be patient. Don't run ahead like Sarah because running ahead of God can have serious consequences.
