Now, this is going to be an important forecast because we have a lot of things happening outdoors this weekend, starting tonight with high school football action. And of course, tomorrow, Memphis Tigers making their debut in the newly renovated Liberty Bowl. And there are going to be a lot of people there. I want to make sure that you guys stay super hydrated and make sure that you're not going to end up over at Baptist Hospital later this weekend.

As a matter of fact, we're going to be talking to Jan Hamilton about the Delta Fair and Music Festival coming up just a little bit later today. Well, where do we begin? You know, a lot of people are talking about what happened at Fox News. And my phone was lighting up, lighting up yesterday when word came down that Fox had had, well, first of all, had parted ways with Maria Bartaromo.
Now we know that Fox News channel fired Maria Bartiromo, and they're accusing her of ratting out the network to President Trump.
So here's the backstory. And by the way, she was there, I guess, what, 12 years? I was at Fox for 15 years, and I knew Maria. She was a great lady and very easy to work with, very kind-hearted person. They called her the money honey back when she was working at the other, I thought, was it CNBC?
Anyway, she was at Fox business. And anyway, Maria was all over the election fraud story. And there are many people out there who believe that the 2020 presidential election was stolen. I happen to be one of those people. I do not believe for a second that 88 million people voted for Joe Biden.
I just don't believe that. You're telling me that more people voted for Joe Biden than Barack Hussein Obama. I don't believe that. I just don't believe it. And we now know that there was election fraud.
Did it rise to the level of causing issues at the ballot box?
Well, I think it did. But again, you had people out there, and it's one thing to say, Yeah, I believe there was election fraud, and it's another to go out there and accuse someone of actually being responsible for you. You better have proof. And if you don't have proof, your butt's going to the courthouse. And that's where a lot of these cable channels got sideways with the story is that their reporters, their anchors were making assertions about the election that could not be proved.
And it got him in trouble. Costed them tens of millions, maybe hundreds of millions of dollars. But anyway, when President Trump was, I think President Trump was giving a speech about this, and he started talking about China and Chinese influence in the elections, which again, I believe. And Fox ordered their host not to air the story. And to stay away from it.
And they sent out a memorandum. And the allegations are that Maria Bartaromo, who just resigned with Fox News back, I think it was back in February. Barta Romo allegedly took screenshots of the memorandum and sent it to the White House. And the point she was trying to make is: hey, look, you guys need to be aware, you don't have friends here at Fox News Channel.
Now, the question is, and this is the one that has not been covered in the media just yet, because this story just broke yesterday, and we were starting to get a lot more details last night. I want to know who at the White House leaked that back to Fox News. And there are a lot of Fox former Foxers that work in the White House. Did one of them have a grudge against Maria and did they rat her out? How did all of that play out?
So, anyway, It's a pretty nasty business. I'm just going to tell you, I went through this when I was at Fox. I was there 15 years. We were in the middle of contract negotiations. They had offered me a contract, and then the New York Times did the story attacking me for using the term illegal alien invasion.
Now, back in those days, this is what, 2019, a lot of people weren't using that particular phrase.
So it was a big controversy. And the National Hispanic Journalism Association declared war on yours truly. That's why I try not to eat too many tacos anymore. It's kind of a personal protest. Anyway, so they and so Fox said, you know what, we're done here.
We're not going to rid of your contract. That's it. Goodbye. But with Maria, they took her off the air. She's been off the air for a month.
And she's her staff has been ordered. I think they fired her executive producer. Her staff has been ordered not to have any communication with her at all. That's the latest.
So, anyway, there you have it. Bartaromo spending 20 years at CNBC, and then she went to Fox News. Let me just say this about cable. I'm going to say this about cable TV, conservative cable TV, but it's also important for you to understand what's happening in the radio world. There's a lot of conservative cosplay out there.
In other words, people who are pretending to be conservatives. And they get paid for that.
So, when you're an actual conservative at these networks, and I know this is blowing minds across the mid-south, but this is true. It is absolutely, verifiably true. If you are an actual conservative one of these networks, You have to watch yourself. You've got to watch your back because it is just as bad as working at a CNN or PMS now. I mean, that's how bad it is.
And I remember when I was at Fox, and again, I was an on-air personality, so I'm somewhat protected. But for the rank and file, I would inevitably, every day, I would have one of the camera guys or one of the audio guys pull me aside and like, hey, Todd. And we'd be like in the hallway, just right down from the bagels and the the coffee station. And uh they d it's he starts stars. Just want you to know, um Man, I'm a conservative too.
And I'm like, why are we whispering? We are in Fox News for crying out. But that's the way it was. And about. I would say, and this is coming from the former Fox executives.
Of course, they've all been given the HEFO now, but the ones I used to work with told me that about only 2% of the people working at Fox were. We're conservative, less than 0.5% would share my specific conservatives' beliefs, you know, regarding faith and freedom and all that kind of stuff.
So, anyway, that's the big story there with Maria Barta Romo. And it's again a reminder that conservative media and conservative cable TV is not what it used to be. And I think that the conservative movement is worse off as a result of that. I really do. I think we've seen a dumbing down of conservatism around the country and right here, quite frankly, in the Mid South.
And that brings me to the radio situation where you have these radio corporate radio giants like iHeart and Cumulus. And they are l they are actually run and controlled by liberals. And they do not like conservatives at all. As a matter of fact, Cumulus, and they operate radio stations in Memphis, they told their employees, you will get the clot shot or you will be fired. I had good friends.
who had great jobs at cumulus radio stations and they got fired. Because they refused to get the clod shot.
Now I'll tell you as the owner of a of a news radio station When that was all happening, I told our staff: here's the deal: if you want to wear a mask, wear a mask. Don't want to wear a mask, don't wear a mask. You want to get a clot shot?
Well, that's between you and your doctor. But that will not impact your employment with me whatsoever. And that's just how we kind of ran things back in those days.
So, anyway, it's unfortunate, and I hate it for anybody to lose their job like that because it's an ugly business. And the people running Fox News now. Especially their HR department, they are very cruel people. And I have heard this from many, many people who have lost their jobs. Over the years since I've been gone.
Very cruel people. I think they came from, actually, I do know this, they came from a PMS now, NBC.
So there you go. That's what's going on inside the Fox News corner of the world.

Well, you need to be aware and you need to do your homework on who you listen to and where you're getting your news and information from. And I can tell you on this radio station, we work very hard to bring you some of the finest talk show hosts in America. People like Lars Larson, people like Armstrong and Getty and Rita Cosby, Larry Elder, the sage of the South Side. And we have a lot of fun on this radio station, but what you hear is what you get in real life. And that's the point of that.

Happy Friday to you. Just curious if any of you were at the big reveal last night. At the Liberty Bowl, it looked like several hundred people turned out. And if you were there, I'd love to get your reaction, your opinion. Up close and personal.
Hearing lots of great reports about how beautiful the stadium is and all of the new features. 901-260-5926, our telephone number. That's 901-260-5926. Well, there has been a lot of national controversy as well as local controversy regarding these flock cameras. Have you seen these things that they're all over the place?
And these cameras are really license plate readers. And over at the Eastgate Center, there were multiple flock cameras. And according to Memphis police, somebody came in and destroyed All of the cameras. They actually took a saw and they brought them down like they were trees. Memphis police said at least three flock cameras were destroyed.
This is from Channel 5's reporting. MPD says that the sign of the damage polls has reignited local debate over this technology, which a lot of people says is a direct violation of the Constitution and your right to privacy.
Now, it turns out that Memphis is home to at least 200 of these automatic license plate readers. And nationally, Flock has grown since its founding over $8 billion. That's how much the company's worth now. And they hold contracts with roughly, what, 40% of all law enforcement agencies In the United States.
So, my question is: I'm just curious: how do you feel about the flock hammers? Because here in the Mid-South, a lot of people are really torn about this. Personally, I see it as a violation of privacy.
However, a lot of other people disagree with that idea, and they say, wait a second, Starnes, we live in a war zone. We need as much help as we can possibly get tracking down the bad guys. Channel 5 interviewed a guy by the name of Jeremy Shields. He says, I have mixed feelings about the flat cameras. I'm told they're supposed to help out and make sure they keep crime low, but I'm starting to see more bad than good.
I'm starting to see people manipulating the system, taking the flock camera information and doing what they want to do with it. And he's talking about police in many cases.
Now, Flock, well, according to the MPD, they say they use the Flock cameras very responsibly and they say everything is audited. This is from Deputy Chief Andrew Brown. He says: We handle the misuse of that very seriously. We will fire you if you misuse any of our technology, period.
So curious, folks, do you have a problem with these flock cameras? And if so, should they be removed from businesses and other locales here in the Mid-South?
Now, look, if it's. Look, if it's on a if it's on private property, let's say you own Eastgate, And you've got a problem with people getting carjacked or whatever, cars getting stolen, then yeah, that's your right as a private property owner. I've got no problem with that. But the question is, what is being done with all of the data That is being accumulated through all of this. I think that.

Baby puppies. Memphis police say a homeowner returned to his residence in Overton Crossing and discovered the front door open. And his two micro pit bull puppies gone. I thought, okay. Are you telling me these puppies are Work.
$4,500 a piece? Who spends that much money on a pooch? That's what I want to know. Unbelievable. We're going to post pictures of the dogs.
I guess they're okay. I mean, they're not like, you know, these dogs, these pit bulls, I don't like the pit bulls. They made me a little nervous. But anyway, they're not. I you don't want to call somebody's dog ugly.
Helen, is that inappropriate? Or I mean, are we allowed to say? That's like you don't want to say, oh, that's an ugly baby you got there. No, there's rat dogs for sure. Yeah, the dog looks like he would be trouble.
Yeah. I'm just, you know, it's giving you the eye and the photograph. I mean, it's a very bad photo. And maybe the dogs just don't photograph well. Maybe.
My my roommate has a pit bull, so I'm gonna pass that along. But hold on. Who in their right mind spends $4,500 on a dog? No sane person. Would you spend $4,500 on any sort of an animal?
No. What about Hee-Haw, the Midget donkey we were talking about earlier this week? 250 max. 250. All right, that's a fair price.
I mean, we're talking about a barnyard animal for crying out loud.

Good morning. Mm-hmm. Todd, how are we? Jan, I'm going to get to that in a minute. And we're going to talk about the Delta Vera Music Festival.
I have a question here about these dogs here that were stolen, kidnapped, tried. Two micro pit bulls. These puppies, they say, are valued at $4,500 apiece. Would you spend $4,500 on a puppy?
Now, Todd, you know I'm the animal lover. If you come to the fair and I'm missing, I'm at the petting zoo or I'm at one of our animal attractions. But Todd, I'm a country girl. And most of our dogs just appeared, you know. People are terrible and do that to animals, but uh.
I don't buy dogs. Yeah, for $4,500, I can think of a lot of other things. Like, for example, I don't know, you could buy tickets to go to the Delta Fair this weekend. Yes, you could. And everybody says, oh, it's hot.
Come on out. We have an air conditioned building. You can come in and see all of our great exhibits. We have attractions even in the building. We've got a brand new dyno encounter and it's inside in the air conditioning.
But Todd, you know, we've got all those great attractions outside, Lady Houdini. Grizzly Encounter. We've got a petting foot, Todd, that our city kids, any kid, and our adults. can come and feed animals and learn about animals. And it's just a great making memory opportunity.
Now, Jan, we have a lot of farmers that listen to the program. We do a lot with agriculture around really the entire state. And there are a lot of things happening with the livestock shows. And I'm always intrigued by these. But you guys have like the, you're the king of the livestock shows.
We start, in fact, my FFA students were here last night setting up pins. In the show place arena, getting ready for this weekend. This weekend is our big cattle show. From your run of the meal cow to your drawings. I mean, we have some beautiful cattle.
And you know, we're all about education. And of course we have our horticulture, what we call gardening, inside the building. But yes, now your fair ticket. includes the livestock shows.
So you come to the fair, you can run over to the barn and catch a show and come back to the fair. See, I love this, and it's just so much fun. And a lot of people may not know this. We actually have nationally recognized FFA programs at Collierville High School, one of the top in the nation, right here in the Mid South. These kids are just really solid young people.
And our Mumford crew, oh my goodness, our livestock director is Ag Teacher at Mumford. And she comes and does this every year for us. Ann Johnson is just the most wonderful lady you'll ever want to meet. And of course, We have youth shows, we have adult shows. And Todd?
Well, it wouldn't be a fair without the rodeo. We have the Patriot Pro Rodeo coming in. Sunday and Monday evening. It's going to be a lot of fun, ladies and gentlemen. And it all starts tonight, today, September 4th through the 13th, the Delta Fair.
And there's also a music festival. And I want to get to that in a moment. This is all at the Agri Center. If you want information, the complete schedule, because I mean, there's really no need for you to be bored over the next couple of weeks, right, Jan? There is plenty for you to do at the Delta Fair.
We have something for everyone, all the interests. If you want to see something amazing, come watch Lady Houdini. She escapes. from a water tank. In chains.
Okay. It is just We we do All kind of things, not just the midway.
Now we all know the Midway is important because you've got to go get that thrill ride, or you may just want to ride on the Ferris wheel or the Merry-Go-Round. But we've got it all, Todd. I'm intrigued by the lady Houdini escaping.
So, this is very interesting. Is this something that's new to the fair this year? No, she's been here before.
So she's escaped before.
Okay, gotcha. Oh, she is. Just the most awesome lady. from chains, handcuffs, and padlocks. She's in water when she does this.
Wow. This is all right. This is fascinating. Let's talk about let's talk about the music component of this because you guys have some great music as well. What can folks expect?
Now we bring in a lot of your local acts. Because as you know, Memphis is famous for its music.
So we have two stages. We have a main stage and we have a delta stage on the lower midway. Um Sunday we'll be doing some gospel stuff. And we have music every night. And day.
Oh, this is going to be exciting. And again, this is a family-friendly event, right, Chan?
So the whole family can come and have a good time. Oh, yes. And Todd, we are very in the day we live. We have to be very security conscious.
So when patrons come to see us, They will walk through our full body scanners. We will be doing bag searches, and it's a shame we have to do that. But we want everybody to feel safe at Delta Fair.
Well, look, you guys do a great job of that. And I've been over there. I mean, it was really impressive, the number of law enforcement out there. And it's not overwhelming. It's just nice to know they're there keeping an eye on things.
And, you know, you're there to have a great time. And that's what it's all about. Jen, I understand there are going to be some theme days like Salute Our Military Day, First Responders Day, and even School, Homeschool, 4-H, and FFA Day.
Now today, opening day. If you are military, Veteran or active? If you are a first responder, Todd, our first responders are so important. We are giving you free admission to Delta Fair because we appreciate you.

And so one day, and he was being very kind. He says, Hey, why don't you come over and I'm going to show you how we make the pork rinds?
I said, Terry, I'm good. I'm good. I don't need to know. I don't.
Well, just give me the final product. Remember, now I used to could render lard, but it's been many years. Yeah. That is not a topic for the morning show, Chan.
Now, we have some great activities going on. Yeah. We have Delta Queens Project. Everything from baby delta fare. to miss delta fare.
We have a songwriting competition. We have Uh just Anything you can imagine, as you know, I have all the ladies and gentlemen because we do have men that quilt. We have all of that already set up for everyone to see. From our photography, our art, our woodworking, our crafts. Oh, our baking contest, we've already had one of those and we've got a couple more coming up.
Well, Jan, if you need me to judge again, let me know. And that's always been a fun thing that I've done over the years. And let me just say, there are some mighty fine cooks here in the Mid-South, no doubt about that. There sure are, Todd. And our big music contest for youth.

You know, it's interesting. I was checking out some of the events. Ian produced, you know, our intern Ian, Helen, on the. On the national show. You know, he's a big Star Wars guy, and they do that kind of thing, you know.
All the Star Wars costumes and everything, the cosplay, they have a cosplay contest. We should enter EN. And we shouldn't tell him. We're just gonna take him as a group and then we'll show up. Make them do it.
But she's not kidding. I should have asked Jan this, but it's the morning show, and I didn't want to go into great detail here. But she's not kidding about the family-friendly. She says, talking about the cosplay event, this is a family-friendly event. No nudity.
No exposed buttocks. Or excessively revealing costumes are permitted.
Well, I was real concerned when she was like, Well, we have the youth shows and we have the adult shows. And I'm like, Oh, okay. Hey, hey, hey, hey, all right. I'm just wondering though, that tells me that somebody showed up with exposed buttocks at the Delta Fair. They had to write a rule.
I wonder if they do that every year. They just take notes, copious notes.

I'm Todd Stearns. Big, busy weekend. A lot of fun on this Labor Day weekend, and hope you and your family are having a great time wherever you are.
Some new intel coming out from the world of politics. The Beacon Poll just released, and they surveyed all of you, Tennesseans, about the gubernatorial race. Marsha Blackburn holding a really commanding 21-point lead in the governor's race. This is according to the Beacon Poll. Bill Haggerty holds a massive lead in the U.S.
Senate race over his Democrat opponent. What's interesting, though, as well as Marsha Blackburn is doing in Bill Haggerty, President Trump is not. For the first time ever in the history of beacon polling, the president's approval rating has gone underwater here in the volunteer state. Blackburn has a 21-point advantage over Democrat Jerry Green. 55% to 34%.
Blackburn's lead comes after that nasty Republican primary battle between John Rose, Monty Fritz, and Blackburn.
So the question is: will Marsha Blackburn be able to garner the support of Fritz supporters and John Rose supporters? Because it was ugly. I hope they will. I think they will, but we shall see. Marsha did not get.
A majority of the Republican, I mean, like 50% and above of the Republican vote.
Now, President Trump's job approval rating, according to the Beacon poll, has gone underwater for the first time since 2023. Just 48% of voters approve of his job performance. 51% say they do not approve of the president's job performance.
Now, if you're going to analyze it, look, the president's numbers across the nation, they're soft right now. That will change coming up next week when the Republicans gather for the midterm and the president is going to be front and center, the star of that big event. There's always big momentum coming out of a Trump rally and event, and the president says he's going to be on the road. Every single day helping Republicans win in the midterms. Cut number, let's see here, 12, please.
Democrats take the House or Senate. They're going to investigate and they're going to impeach. going to. Let's look at the other side of that. If you defy history, if you keep the House and the Senate or become the third in history to do it.
What can voters expect from the last two years of your term? When you're president, whether you're Republican or Democrat, or whether you're a good president or a bad president, you lose the midterms. Nobody knows why.
So it's been two, over 50 years, there's been two victories by a president that won and then went on to win the midterms. And one of them was a little bit of a fluke. And so for some reason, The voters tend to go the other way. I think we're going to do very well because we have communists, we have a party that's been infiltrated by. bad thought by bad policy.
I used to talk about socialism, but this isn't socialism. This is largely. Communism. I look at the people running like in Michigan. I watched this interview the other day with Jesse.
And I said, wow, this man Is out of it. This is very dangerous for our country. I'm not saying good guy, bad guy, I'm just saying this is big, big trouble. for our country. likewise many others.
And what's happened is you're saying Democrats, of which there are fewer and fewer, are forced to vote in a way that they would not vote. And they don't even believe in their vote. But if they don't vote that way, they lose power. With all of that being said, I think we're going to do well and I'm going to go campaign. Like I did, you know, I took off when we had the presidential election.
I took off. 120 days, four months. Every single day I was on the trail, And if I didn't make one or two or three speeches, I felt guilty. And Kamala, when I looked at her schedule, because you know they're printed schedules, she took all this time off. She didn't really campaign very hard.
And I said, wait a minute, you're going for the gold ring. You're going to make America great again. You're going to do, you've got to go every single day.
So it's 120 days.
So I campaigned for 120 days without. missing a day. All right.
And so he's going to work hard. And if this is going to be a referendum on Trump, then I think the Republicans might have a fighting chance here. But again, there is a secondary poll out, Reuters Ipsos, and they polled Tennessee voters as well. They too found that the president's net approval rating in Tennessee at its smallest margin during his second term. Men and women split slightly on Trump, 49% of women disapproving.
51% of men say Trump's doing a great job. Um When you look at breaking it down among the political parties, 77% of Republicans. Say that they approve of the job Trump is doing here. That's not good. That should be well up into the 80s and 90s for the Republicans, and that's your problem area.
