Luke Simbel here filling in for Todd Starnes. Kristen New here, too, in the Principal Toyota Memphis studio. Happy Friday, Kristen. It's Friday. This week, man, you know, Todd Starnes is on air, like, what is it, six hours a day?
We have been on air one hour a day for a week. It has worn me out. I am so exhausted. I don't get up this early. This has been a new thing for me.
Well, and you and I get up early. We have our coffee. We go over what we're going to talk about.
So we're prepared. We're not like those radio hosts that you hear waking up on air.
Well, that's true. I mean, I do get up. I'm just not up.
Well, we are ready for you today. Today is phone in Friday.
So, Mid-South, what do you want to talk about? There is so much news locally, nationally. We're going to talk about it all today, Kristen. Let's cram this. This is our last show, so I feel like we need to cram everything in.
We're going to cram it full of information. You should see this cut list. This is like, we've got some news going on. We do have news.
So, folks, 901-260-5926. Call in, but first, we have a personal announcement. Kristen, you found something in the road yesterday. Yesterday I was driving down the road and I was driving down Farmington and right by the old golf course, I thought it was a bird walking across the street. And I was like, why is this bird walking across the street?
And I was like, oh my gosh, that's not a bird.
So I stopped the traffic, like I honked my horn. I'm like, everybody stop. And I got out of the car in the middle of the road and it's a kitten the size of the palm of my hand.
So I had to put it in my car. I was on my way to work because I work in the afternoons and it had to stay in my car. It crawled up under my seat, and then I had a... You left it in your... Yeah, I rolled all the windows down.
No, no. Uh-uh. And then I took it home, and it's in my bathroom right now.
So if anybody would love a little tabby kitten, is it a boy or a girl? That is my... You can't tell yet. It's too small. It's so little.
I don't know. And I keep going back and forth.
Well, that is sweet. And it's a purr box. It just purrs. I am not a cat person. I love all animals.
I am a sap for animals. Me too. If I were to find a kitten, I would want to find it a home. I wouldn't just leave it.
However, cats, I'm not a cat cat. This is a baby, too. It's a baby. This is a baby. I don't know where in the world it came from.
Well, KWAM listeners, are you trying to find it at home or are you going to keep it? No, I want to find it at home because this is attention. Wait, what about Cassie? Cassie, do you want a cat? Cassie.
Well, I would love a kitten. My entire, something about me is my entire For You page on Instagram is just cats and kittens and cheetahs.
Well, this is perfect. This is perfect. But, but, but. I should have brought it with me this morning. Cassie would have taken it.
Oh, my heart would have melted. Guys, I would have not been able to even run this board if you brought a kitten. If you hear random sounds, it would have been the kitten. But my husband is so allergic. to cats.
Anything with fur, honestly.
So he would have my neck if I brought that home. But I just want to let you know that I personally would have loved to bring it home. Here's the thing, Cassie. Maybe it should live here. Maybe it could be a K-WAM cat.
Yeah, no mice in the K-WAM studio. It could be the mascot. The studio cat. That would be so cute. I wonder if Todd is a cat person.
He doesn't strike me as a cat person. You know, I have these two French bulldog puppies, sisters, Juliet and Vivian. Bougie names for bougie dogs. No, they're not. They're just, I thought I needed a French name for these French bulldogs, but I don't know what they would do with a cat.
And I, like I said. This one is so little they would eat it. This one is so little. It's small. What's funny is I'm not a cat guy, but cats love me.
And so if I go, well, you know, our friend Kristen Hicks. Yeah, it has a couple cats. And when I go over there, these cats, they rub up on me. They purr. They love.
And one of them is apparently a shy cat. And Kristen's like, this cat does not usually like people, but it loves me. You're the cat whisperer. I don't know. I don't.
The whole claw thing. And cats can bite you and claw you. And you keep them. If a dog bites you repeatedly, you have to put it down. It's just not allowed.
They don't bite. They don't bite. I don't know. They're not vicious animals.
Well, look. Phone in Friday. does anybody want a kitten? Yes. Kristen has one.
If you can give it a good home, 901-260-5926. But also, you can call in with news of the day. Speaking of news of the day, Shelby County Clerk Wanda Halbert is back in the news. Why? She, there was apparently, allegedly, there is a possible mold problem in the White Haven Clerk's office.
So none of the employees showed up to work. and it's been closed, which I will just, I don't know. You know, I do think people sometimes are looking for any excuse not to show up to work, but let's just give them the benefit of the doubt, knowing Shelby County Clerk Wanda Halbert and how she runs her offices.
So Whitehaven is shut down, and then the city of Millington yesterday releases a statement. Wanda Halbert has not paid the rent in Millington for nearly two years, and Millington is owed $30,000 in rent, Kristen. Girl, pay your bills. Oh, my goodness. She is a disaster.
And honestly, you know, I'm a little frustrated because in the Tennessee Constitution, we have mechanisms to remove public officials that are not doing their jobs. The local DA can file removal proceedings or the attorney general of Tennessee can file removal proceedings. Everybody probably knows how I feel about our local DA. I think he's incompetent. He's a Soros-backed DA, received hundreds of thousands of dollars from left-wing groups.
I think he's a restorative justice schemer. I think he's terrible at his job.
Okay, he didn't want to do the job. He released a statement saying basically it wouldn't be politically smart for him to do.
Well, that's not a reason. A.G. Scrimetti said he can't get in the business of removing elected officials all across the state of Tennessee, which I understand, and I'm a huge Scrimetti fan. He is brilliant. He is conservative.
He has won cases in front of the Supreme Court for the state of Tennessee and for, you know, right leaning causes pursuing the Constitution. I am a huge Scrimetti fan, but I'm a little frustrated that it seems like nobody other than, you know, Commissioner McWright had his do your job mantra and tour, which really has brought shine a light on this. But he doesn't have removal. This has been going on since 2023 as well.
So this is not a new problem.
So this is a known problem. Yet we're just now talking about it. Why is that? Why do they let these things fester for so long? You know, I don't know.
I do think some problem has come up with her every few months. Remember, there was some tax that the county had passed. Maybe it was that increased wheel tax, wasn't it? Yes. They increased the wheel tax to pay for certain things, and she just didn't implement it, so we lost millions of dollars.
I think she was in Jamaica. I think she was in Jamaica on the beach When she was supposed to be implementing the World Tax And paying her bills She's just so awful And she's still with us and I do not understand Voters, what is wrong? Why do these people Still retain Can we get anybody with a backbone Just to remove her? I will tell you Luke, do not give me power I will become a monster Folks, what do you think? Can we get rid of Wanda Halbert 901-260-5926.
I also want to address something. You know, Joe Kent, who listens to the program, he's a, I don't want to say keyboard warrior. He's commenting a lot. He writes these op-eds. I am now on his target list.
He published an op-ed yesterday, I believe, in just by Memphis. And there's a big picture of me. Apparently, I'm popular enough to be targeted by Joe Kent. because I don't speak enough about public corruption. Yeah, me too.
Apparently, I don't speak enough about public corruption. Number one, public corruption has not been defined by him, and he's saying I don't talk about it.
Well, now I am, Joe. And apparently, when I was invited on local news stations to talk about the Memphis Safe Task Force, I was supposed to work in public corruption right now.
Well, I am working it in now, Kristen. I am officially against Public corruption I'm against it I am against it Want to call in and talk about that What is it that bothering you about Memphis What are you seeing that is absolutely corrupt So how is it that we don have any money at all to fix potholes We don't have money for schools, but yet we seem to have money for all of these other pet projects in Memphis. Yep. We have lots of money for nonprofits in the school district. We have lots of money for Mata to go out and spend however they want.
you know I Joe I like led the charge a few years ago against increasing funding for Mata I would like to dismantle Mata I think you and I agree on that big waste of money I am against public corruption there was supposed to be a big Mata bus when they built the pyramid that never got built but the money just disappeared and they stopped the trolleys downtown which is like one of the like only quaint things left about downtown in the midst of the past few years with crime and homeless people with all the homelessness folks phone in friday 901-260-5926 kristin new and luke symbol filling in for todd in the principal toyota memphis studio and uh what do you want to talk about we have a large sought list today for those of you tuning in on the facebook or x live stream long sought list we're gonna to talk about the news of the day phone in we want to hear from you uh stay tuned we're going to have a quick traffic update with commander chuck and we'll talk to you on the other side luke cymbal here kristen new filling in for todd on stars country we are in the principal toyota memphis studio and we have a very special guest on the line commissioner mick right good morning, Commissioner. Good morning. It's great to be called special. I appreciate that. But I wanted to say right off the bat, you all are doing a great job filling in.
I know it's hard work. Todd makes it look easy, but y'all are doing a great job.
Well, thank you. We're having fun. He does make it look very easy. And like I said earlier, he is on air like six or seven hours a We've been out here for one hour for a week and it's exhausting. Commissioner, you have really led the charge locally.
You did a do your job tour holding local elected officials and elected representatives accountable, literally just asking them to do their job for the county of Shelby, the city of Memphis. Novel concept. I mean, you know, kind of the baseline. And now it's being reported that Shelby County Clerk Wanda Halbert is $30,000 behind in rent to the city of Millington. Millington is in a hard spot because they have to have a clerk's office.
They have a lot of folks moving in and out with the Navy. They don't want to have their people have to drive 40 minutes to a clerk's office in Shelby County. Only for it to be closed because of mold. Right.
So what are you thinking, Commissioner? You have been leading the charge on this. Is there anything more we can do? Yeah, it is the never-ending nightmare. It is very basic things.
We're asking, you know, we hired a county clerk to take care of these functions. And we're just simply saying, hey, would you please sign a lease to continue the office? Would you please pay the rent out of your budget that we've approved? And these are just very simple things. earlier you talked about her not and not not enforcing the wheel tax and the fees both on the city and county side it cost the city seven million dollars oh my gosh she refused to implement that and i'll tell you this has it goes beyond just you know county clerk that's that's a big pain for all of us but it has an impact on public safety as well because the city of memphis could have used those dollars to purchase patrol vehicles where they are massively behind.
They've got a shortage of vehicles for law enforcement.
So you talk about how do we get crime under control? All of these things point back to just simply doing your job. And this county clerk just refuses to do that.
So Mick, I got to ask you, is that a way to defund the police when they just don't enforce these laws? Wow. I hadn't thought of it that way. I think you're absolutely correct. You know, it's, again, it's very frustrating for the citizens.
It's something that I hear about on a daily basis. You know, even in the midst of a massive crime wave where Memphis is the number one per capita for murders across the country, you've got the President of the United States together with our governor and both senators talking about crime in Memphis. But But even in the midst of all that, I'm getting daily messages saying, would you please just straighten out the county clerk's office? And that's been very frustrating for me to deal with. Sure.
Well, what is the lay? I know you've been keeping track that there is a case that has been filed. District Attorney Mulroy didn't take the case. A.G. Scrimetti didn't take the case.
But there is a case that has been filed, removal proceedings. What is the latest on that? Right.
We're in the second round still. where it's on appeal. The county attorney's office has appointed a special prosecutor to bring that case because the county attorney herself has to work with and deal with Halbert and the client. Yes. And so she she had to recuse.
But so that's why they brought in a special prosecutor. And now that's before the appeals court. They just had a hearing. I think it was a week or two back.
So we're just waiting on their decision to determine whether or not that special prosecutor has standing to bring the case. And we've never gotten yet, and I think Kristen said it earlier, it's been several years now. We've still not gotten to the meat of the issues of her neglect and negligence.
Well, you're exactly right. This has all been procedural motions up to this point in that case. We haven't gotten to the meat of it. But what we do appreciate, Commissioner, is that you're talking about the meat of the issue and the do your job campaign that you started a couple of years ago has really gained traction. And people still I mean, when when people hear clerk Wanda Halbert, the first thing they think of is, man, she needs to do her job.
And that's because of you. And so we appreciate your advocacy. You know, you have one more year left as a commissioner. Is there anything that you're focusing on? And obviously, I know you're still focusing on this, but is there anything that you want to focus on over the course of this year as you end your time on the commission for the people of Shelby County?
I would say it's a target-rich environment in Shelby County. That's so good. Massive chaos everywhere. Right.
So many issues that we could focus on. I'm trying to be the best partner. Earlier this week, you had on Senator Brent Taylor. I'm working to be the very best local partner for him as he takes on a lot of these issues.
So we were recently able to implement a bill that he passed and got signed into law to give us another shot at the school board. And so putting all of those seats on the ballot, that is a big win for Shelby County. It is. You and I were both at an event that I think you organized, Luke, about, and Kristen, I think you were there as well, about the National Guard coming in. I think welcoming them and being a voice for Memphis and Shelby County when sometimes the other side of the aisle is not welcoming and not looking at solutions for crime and public safety.
So I think it's just those things that continuing to push on corruption to to use someone else's word and complaint. But we're you know, we're trying to chip away at that every day.
Sometimes it takes a while, might take months and might take years, but I'm never going to give up on that.
So the average local citizen, how can they help you do your job? That is a great question. And here's what I would say is people will email me their stories. I really need people to share their stories with the public, with the media, and with other commissioners, other city council members. Because if they just see me talking about it, it's like, oh, he's that crazy guy.
He must have something against such and such person. And that's just simply not the case. But I need you to speak up. Use your voice. And so share your stories.
And then let's use this momentum about the sad state of the schools, the sad state of our public safety, the sad state of the county clerk's office. Use these stories and use this pressure and carry this into the next election.
Well, Commissioner, we so appreciate the work that you're doing. And you're right. We do have momentum between the school board election realignment. Thank you so much for your work on that. And that was a huge win for the Republican Party of Shelby County, sending out those action alerts and getting citizens to those meetings, supporting public safety and this Memphis Safe Task Force coming from the Trump administration.
Again there just there so much momentum here locally and with for common sense And I think people are I really believe they starting to wake up and see that we have hope for the future And so, folks, this is Phone In Friday. Thank you, Commissioner, for joining us. And you can find Commissioner McBride on Facebook and Twitter.
So if you are wanting to get in touch with him, please get in touch with him through his socials. That's probably the easiest way to reach him. All right, folks, Phone In Friday, 901-260-5926. Phone in. Code FALL25.
Bring the boom. X-Boom. All right, friends. Luke Simbel here and Kristen New in the Principal Toyota Memphis studio. We're filling in for Todd Starnes on Starnes Country.
Friday morning. We're having a great day. And we have some special callers. It's phone in Friday, 901-260-5926. We have Lisa Arnold.
She is a vice chair of the Republican Party of Shelby County. She ran against Tammy Sawyer for General Sessions court clerk. And she's on the line. We're going to get right to her. And she is at the beach at the Gulf of America.
And, Kristen, you are wearing a Gulf of America. For those of you on the live stream, Gulf of America t-shirts. Right.
So this shirt we are actually selling, the Republican Party. Yes. So just a little quick shameless plug before we get to Lisa Arnold. I am one of the co-chairmen of the outreach committee for the Republican Party. And we are doing our next event is the Bartlett Festival.
It is next weekend, October 3rd and 4th. It's a Friday night and a Saturday. It's also a barbecue cooking contest, a classic car show. We will have a booth out there selling the Gulf of America shirts, Charlie Kirk shirts. We have MAGA hats and we are giving out free stickers.
We will have candidates there that you can talk to and ask questions. I believe Monty Fitz is coming. He is one of the candidates running for governor. We do straw polls out there to see who would you like to be our next governor from the Republican candidates. We have a lot of fun out there.
So we hope that you come out. And the money that we earn from selling Gulf of America shirts, we put back to the party. We put back out into the community. We help fund some of these candidates so that we can take over Shelby County and turn Shelby County red. That is our number one goal.
Speaking of turning Shelby County red, Lisa Arnold is working on that. Hey, Lisa, how's the beach? Oh, it is beautiful. The Gulf of America. I love it.
I'm sitting here right now on the bed looking at the waves come in. Oh, I'm so excited. Gulf of America t-shirt. I was like, call in. I'm so jealous.
I have not been to the beach in a long time. We just had Commissioner Mick Wright on the other line talking about, or in the other segment, talking about Wanda Halvert's incompetence as clerk. We also have some incompetent court clerks here in Shelby County. I don't know if you saw, but yesterday a convicted murderer was released after his conviction because of a clerical error in one of the clerk's offices. You ran for General Sessions Court clerk.
You worked in the clerk's office for decades. What do you think about a convicted murderer being released because of a clerical error?
Well, the clerical error, it can be literally just something as a keystroke entered wrong. But you need to have like a two- and three-step verification before anybody gets a warrant issued on them, before anybody gets out of jail. And from what I have understood, they just don't have that anymore. Used to have one person that did the jail releases, status change, that type of stuff. That's all they did in the clerk's office.
And now it's like just anybody can do it. just anybody in the clerk's office that probably was not trained properly on how to do the actual entry.
Well, we wish that you were over there. We can't have Lisa Arnold in every office in Shelby County, but it's just unacceptable. Lisa, thanks for calling in. Friends, it's phone in Friday, 901-260-5926. Kristen, you mentioned Charlie Kirk, and so next weekend at the Bartlett Festival, you're going to have some Charlie Kirk merchandise.
I don't know if you noticed, but those turning point events, they're going on with speakers. And they are huge. They are massive. I mean, I think there have been two or three now since his assassination. They have packed the house.
And Megyn Kelly, a couple nights ago, was at, I think it was Virginia Tech. They were, Virginia Tech. And there was a leftist student who blamed President Trump for Charlie Kirk's assassination, and she utterly destroyed him. Let's go to that Megyn Kelly clip in Sot 8. The DOJ just pulled it.
The DOJ just pulled it from their website. The DOJ just pulled the study from their website because they're delusional. That's not true. They just pulled it. Look it up.
The DOJ pulled it from their website. Once you pull the crazies out of there, it is overwhelmingly left-wing violence. Google it. We have had... Every single person in the audience, Google it right now.
You know, this is how we get here.
So first of all, let me take on the first part of the premise of your question. that it was President Trump's rhetoric that led to an assassin killing our friend Charlie Kirk. That's a blatant lie. It's a defamatory blaspheme, and it's inappropriate in this setting. That's not what I said.
Yes, it is. No, I said he contributed to the political atmosphere.
Well, then you have no point. Then your point is utterly empty. Contributing to the atmosphere. This guy was, no, let's just make clear. Let's just make clear.
This guy was motivated by leftist ideology. We know it from the bullet casings. We know it from the Utah governor. We know it from his own mother. Yes, we do.
Let's be really clear on that. Even if that's true, so then you're saying, because, let's say this guy's a leftist. Even if that's true, does that make it okay for the sitting president of the United States to incite violence against liberals? The president of the United States has not accepted violence against liberals. The president of the United States made a joke at the Charlie Kirk Memorial, which was funny and self-deprecating.
It was on the heels of Erica Kirk saying she, in an extraordinary moment, forgave her husband's killer. And let me finish. And then President Trump got up and making a joke, playing off of what Erica said. He said, we disagree. I need to do better.
Erica's going to try to convince me, but I'm in a different place. And that's completely normal for a politician to be thinking about his political fights. And by the way, Trump has every right to loathe his enemies. They tried to put him in jail for the rest of his life. They tried to banquish him.
They tried to put his family in jail. And they tried to kill him. That, folks, is how you do it. And absolutely fantastic work by Megyn Kelly. I am so glad that these Turning Point events are continuing.
And really what the message is, is that conservative students don't be afraid to speak out. And Megyn made a great point during her speech. She said, if you are a conservative student and you refuse to accept the leftist ideology in the class that you are in and you fail, let's say that they give you an F on a paper because you refuse to accept the leftist ideology. You hold that paper up. You go to the dean of students.
You tag Harmeet Dillon, who is head of the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division now, and you say they are discriminating against me because of my viewpoint. this is a First Amendment violation and you fight back. And folks, we have your back. And that's really important because the left has always had the microphone for so long. And they silenced our voices.
They took us off of Twitter. We had the Google story where they took us off of social media. And now we're getting that voice back and it's bigger than ever. There is going to be a podcast, The Charlie Kirk Show, where Megyn Kelly and Erica Kirk are going to co-host together and they are expecting a billion views. Oh, my gosh.
So, I mean, that's a great finally. You know what the left is mad about is that we're finally fighting back and saying, nope, left wing violence is is on the rise. It is unacceptable. We're not going to tolerate it. They were look at what the Trump administration is doing with Antifa yesterday designating a terrorist organization.
They have already rounded up the Antifa protesters outside of the federal buildings in Portland. That is how you do. They are a terrorist organization. They are. And you know Tennessee State we had some conservative doing kind of a Charlie Kirk type thing where it proved me wrong type episode And they attacked them and then they kicked the conservatives off of campus They were unhinged student reactions.
So the violence wasn't coming from the conservatives. It was coming from the people who opposed. And you talk about freedom of speech. Who just got their freedom of speech shut down? It wasn't the liberals.
It was the conservatives on that campus. And that is right here in Red State of Tennessee. All right, folks, we have a couple minutes left of this segment. It is phone-in Friday, 901-260-5926. And I think we have a caller, Chris, on the line.
Okay, Chris, we only have a little bit of time, so what is your question or comment? Oh, I've got to add this, because I recently spoke at Hernando City Council meeting. I was the first one to speak up for Charlie Kirk. They was trying to change the street name in terms of Hernando High School. And we just didn't, they did it too quick, and everybody didn't have enough time.
So there was more liberals speaking than it was conservatives. And that sucks so bad for Charlie. But anyway, I just wanted to add that in there. I recently asked a question to the senator about auditing the police department. What I meant was auditing the hiring and promoting processes, because along with that clerical error that happens, there's people that don't have the knowledge and experience to do the job that they're putting in place to do.
somebody's got to oversee that because it's not with the national guard coming in it's not going to change until they fix that sure chris um thank you for calling in you know you're right they're they're they're um i think it is good to shine a light on any public office whether it's a whether it's a police department whether it's the clerk's office whether it's uh the court clerk's office which just released a convicted murderer because of a clerical error. We do have a comptroller in the state of Tennessee that you can submit those types of requests to. It is unique in our Constitution. We have a comptroller position described in the Constitution to hold local governments and state, anybody receiving state money accountable.
So I think, you know, I think that's a great way to maybe put in a request if you have concerns about that and they will they can do an investigation. That's something, you know, speaking of public corruption, Joe Kent, which I am against, if I need to say that again. You know, Joe has been saying that we need a fully staffed local comptroller's office here in Shelby County. I am unaware. I don't know how many staff members the comptroller office gets or exactly how that budget works with the state.
But I know that they have come in and done audits of various things. Senator Taylor and John Gillespie recently asked for an audit from the TBI on crime stats just to make sure, look, we need to make sure that the stats that we're looking at are accurate. and if the report comes back and says that they are, that's great. We can then trust it. If not, then we need to make some changes.
So, Chris, thanks for your call. Guys, phone in Friday, 901-260-5926. On the other side, Kristen, I want to talk about Ilhan Omar and some recent comments she made. And apparently Trump says the president of Somalia does not want her back. And so we're going to talk about that.
I want to send her back.
So, folks, we're going to go quickly to a sports update. Let's check in with our sports analyst, Parker May, and we'll talk to you on the other side. All right, folks. Happy Friday. Luke Simbel and Kristen New filling in for Todd Starnes in the principal Toyota Memphis studio.
And Kristen, the president of the United States spoke to the head of Somalia about Ilhan Omar. And let's hear what Trump has to say in SOT number six. This is a low IQ person who I can't even believe is a congressperson between her and Ilman Omar. and the group, you know, I met the head of Somalia. Did you know that?
And I suggested that maybe he'd like to take her back. And he said, I don't want her.
Okay, what else? Kristen, the Daily Mail published another story this week saying that they have verified that Ilhan Omar married her brother so that to commit immigration fraud on his behalf. That's right. You know, I'm team Somalia on this one. I wouldn't want her back either.
And in the beginning of the quote, he was actually talking about Crockett. Unfortunately, we can't send her anywhere. I know. We're stuck with her. But if you commit immigration fraud, which if you immigrate to the United States and become a citizen, you can have your citizenship revoked for a few select reasons.
And committing immigration fraud is one of them. It's a serious offense. And if you or I did that, we would be thrown in jail immediately. And she is a sitting congressperson. Yes.
And they get away with it. And they get away with it. And Republicans, where, you know, in the House, where's the backbone? Right? Right.
I mean, file. I mean, do something. Come on, Republicans. Come on.
So, you know, you can kick out, you know, the Republican side with Democrats to kick out Republicans in the House. Why can't we kick out Democrats? They are so weak. Come on.
They are so weak. Come on.
You know who is not weak is Vice President J.D. Vance addressing left-wing terrorism. It's so nice to hear the right finally fighting back. Let's hear what he had to say in Sop 5. People want to see someone go people go to jail for this.
Well, first of all, people will go to jail for this. But the president of the United States has made very clear we're taking a whole of government approach to this. We're looking at the funding networks. We're looking at the people who are inciting violence. We're looking at the people who are promoting and encouraging violence.
That takes time to do it the right way. Laura, we're going to make sure that we do this the right way. First, I understand. Of course, you have to protect people's First Amendment rights. You have to protect people's free speech rights.
But the First Amendment does not protect imminent incitements to violence. If you are actively promoting your fellow man to kill other people, that is not protected by the First Amendment. And we have to be clear about that. We have to go after that stuff. What do you think, Kristen?
I think I mean, I love this alpha energy that's coming out of the White House now. There is so much alpha energy. Speaking of alpha energy, I know. I mean, there's so much news to cover. The White House is fighting back against Democrats over this coming up, the shutdown coming up.
And basically the Democrats are wanting to fund their sticking point is they want to fund health care for illegal aliens. They do. And that really upsets me as somebody. Like I said, they always have money to give cards and rent payments and free education, free health care to the immigrants. But we don't get the same right.
So I just say we should all just jump the border and then come back in and maybe we'll get some free stuff because this is ridiculous. Stephen Miller, Deputy Chief of Staff at the White House, he is not having it. And let's hear what he has to say and sought to.
Well, the Democrats are demanding free health care for illegal aliens. Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Treffis have been clear. They will not fund law enforcement. They will not fund the military. They will not fund public safety.
They will not fund the operations of the federal government that your tax dollars pay for unless they get free health care for illegal aliens. That is the biggest losing message and the biggest losing argument in American history. We will see if there's enough Democrat senators who are dumb enough to follow Chuck Schumer off the edge of that cliff. You know, the American people are not the constituents of the Democrat Party. The illegal aliens are the constituents of the Democrat Party.
And we're actually seeing that locally here with this Memphis Safe Task Force. The over 12 federal agencies coming to Memphis to clean up our crime challenge. I don't know if you've noticed, but the Democrats keep talking about the immigrant community and how afraid the immigrant community is. and the illegal alien community. And I'm like, folks, the only people who have anything to fear are those committing crimes.
Like, why are you siding? They're so worried that they're going to get arrested at Home Depot. But you know what, Luke? That is what I voted for. That's exactly right.
I voted for it, too. Let's round them up and get them out. And you know what? I mean, this is just so amazing. The Democrats just do not get it.
Those most impacted by illegal alien by illegal immigration and mass migration are the poor and our community's most vulnerable. And Memphis, if the Democrats' party keeps talking about how poverty causes crime, well, guess what exacerbates poverty? Mass migration. Yes. Low-skilled labor.
They're sucking up all the resources. It's just, you can't make this stuff up. They're like parasites.
Well, Kristen, I've had a great time hosting with you this week. We are both exhausted. I'm going to go get more coffee, but it's been a lot of fun. And I appreciate your being willing to join me. You know, you've done all the work.
I'm just here just to comment.
Well, go take care of that, folks. If you want a kitten. If you want a kitten, you can call. That's right. For Sydney for Germantown.
Send me a message. Have a great Friday. Tune in tomorrow behind the badge, 11 a.m. And the Garden Show before. I love the KWAM Saturday morning lineup.
Have a great weekend. We'll talk to you soon. All right. Never surrender. Very good.
Bye.
