Welcome to this edition of Overreaction Monday, fresh off of a championship Sunday weekend. We know it is going to be a rematch of Super Bowl 57 and Super Bowl 59. The NFC champion Eagles are taking on the AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs. We will see a three-peat attempt in a Super Bowl for the first time ever, and we will see Saquon Barkley in a Super Bowl for the first time ever.
Rich Eisen, along with Christopher Brockman. Good to see you, Chris. How are you?
What's happening, man? I'm just recovering from a six-hour NFL game day morning of championship Sunday and then championship Sunday. And it was a great day of talking about football. Yeah, one Sunday you guys had a great, great show, great pregame. And then just watching those games, I know we texted at some point, it was like, my heart was racing and I literally didn't care kind of what happened.
Zero skin in the game. And it's like, oh man, it's just so exciting and thrilling. I couldn't imagine being an actual fan of one of those teams and having, you know, your emotions on the line like that. I do feel for Bill's fans again, and I'm sure we'll talk about it either on the rest of this championship Sunday edition of Overreaction Monday or the flagship show on Monday where we're recording this before. We talked to Chris Long, who was in Philadelphia for the NFC championship game.
I heard that. And the brilliant Bill Burr will be in studio for the Rich Eisen show, but let's just hit it for Overreaction Monday on a... That was terrible. That was crap. That was garbage.
This place sucks. Overreaction Mondays, Monday. Championship Sunday edition for Christopher.
The first item up for bids is... Let's get right to it, Rich. And you know, I was looking back through some of the overreaction lists that we put together over the last couple of years, second year doing this podcast. And I had something very similar to this after last year's playoffs. And I got to say it again. The only way Josh Allen will ever make a Super Bowl is if he asks for a trade to the NFC.
No, I don't think so. I can't sit here and say that he'll never... What more do you have to say? I know.
I just think at some point there will be a form of attrition or there will be enough change in Kansas City or the football gods will stop kicking the bills in the nards. You know what I'm saying? I know there's going to be... I don't know, man.
Hey, I know again, we're just diving into this thing here, okay? On this pod, on our flagship show, and we're going to see all the topic bars across our screens today on all the chatter shows and the debate shows and listening to sports talk radio, whether locally or nationally. And it will eventually go to what Josh Allen did or didn't do, or the finger of blame will eventually land on the quarterback because that's what happens in a quarterback driven league. Other than just coming out of the gate in the first drive, throwing almost two interceptions, appearing to do more than what he did all year long. It did appear during the AFC championship game on occasion that he was forcing things. Trying to hit home runs every play. I also think there was a mysterious disappearance of James Cook in the late third, fourth quarter.
Totally agree. And then when push comes to shove, James Cook wasn't on the field sometimes. And I don't know what was up at that. I do know James Cook would occasionally take a breather for Ray Davis or Ty Johnson. And then we saw him just be so dominant in that third quarter. I thought this was going to be the through line. I thought James Cook was going to be the through line for the Buffalo Bills, and it wasn't. And on the final drive of the game for the Bills that wound up on a fourth down stop, that Allen did have to put on the cape one more time. He did have to be Superman one more time. And he came up with an unbelievable off platform throw that Dalton Kincaid had in his arms. And I just don't know what more Allen needed to do yesterday.
Convert some fourth and ones. I know. I know, but it's not seriously just couldn't work. Is that on him? I don't know, then don't call the plays, then block better. Then, you know, I mean, I can't sit here and say that Josh Allen will never beat the Chiefs in the postseason. He's done it in the regular season. It just always seems to be the circumstances, whether it's Bass missing a field goal in the divisional playoff game last year or the litany of things we just said this year or what happened in the overtime. Playoff loss where, you know, they blew it with 13 seconds to go and then never got the ball back because the overtime rules hadn't been changed yet.
It always appears to be something, but I don't think that something is. They'll never do it because Mahomes is always going to beat them. I understand. I understand your point.
I'll call this an overreaction for the moment. Patrick Ewing only made the finals because Jordan retired. Reggie Miller never made it. Carmelone never won a title like Josh Allen is joining the list of those all-time great future hall of famers who just never got there because they played in the wrong era. All those guys who played golf in the early 2000s. I know, but Mickelson eventually did win.
He did break through. No, obviously it does help to play a sport where you can still be a champion while you're pushing 50. Right. You know, I'm saying at some point, Kelsey will retire.
At some point, Mahomes is going to have to do this without Andy Reid. Well, did Kelsey play yesterday? It didn't matter.
But Kelsey does enough. Just his mere presence is enough. And on occasion, you know, you had to follow the yellow shoes to see where he was, right? Because he wasn't always prominent.
Yeah. But he was doing, you know, the other stuff, the blocking, the, the, the distracting, you know, he, at some point, at some point, the chiefs will not have whatever advantages they do have. They will always have Mahomes when Allen's there.
One would think, but eventually did one, one, but I know Jordan retired to do that. I'll push back on this notion and say, I just don't know what we've seen out of them. So the regular season doesn't matter.
Like, we can stop being like, well, they beat him in the regular season. Literally doesn't matter. I understand.
Well, it would matter if you do bring them to your house. Well, they did that. And it didn't work out too well last year. It's just like, what are we doing? I just can't sit here and say it's inevitable for the rest of Allen's career right now. It feels that way. And I'll just call it an overreaction.
Let's give some flowers to 15. Dude was awesome. He was the running.
Oh, you knew those plays were coming. Patrick Mahomes is already the second best quarterback of all time. I can't argue that.
I can't argue it. He or he's, he's got the second most wins of all time. He's got the second longest winning streak of all time in the playoffs.
Nine. If he wins the Superbowl, he would tie Tom Brady's win streak of starting his career all the way through to the, the loss that he suffered in the divisional round. When he attempted to three Pete that nine game win streak in the playoffs ties Bart star. It's the longest active streak by far.
No one, I don't think is ever going to touch that. It was his first career playoff game with multiple rushing touchdowns. He's never had that. His seven career playoff rushing touchdowns is the most in chief's history. Within any running back. That's correct.
I love that. His fifth career playoff game with one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown tied second most all time to behind Steve young. He's tied with Tom Brady in that regard. He became the second player in NFL history with 50 or more career offensive touchdowns in the playoffs. 50 Tom Brady has 95. He passed Joe Montana for the second most playoff games with a hundred or better passer rating in NFL history. That's one better than Montana. He trails only Brady with 19.
And that's just one half of a page of statistics to back up what you just said. I think the only thing you can say that he doesn't do well and isn't maybe the best ever is spiking the football. I saw that as well. I think CBS did him a solid to not show that replay.
He did tweet about it. Kelsey get in the way. Did Kelsey get in the way? That was when he was yelling at everyone. Yeah, that was pretty funny.
It wasn't a great spike at all, you know? But you can forgive him for not being perfect at everything, right? He always makes the right play.
He doesn't seem to make the mistake. Doesn't seem to be the one that allows you to turn over. And that was kind of it. I was the only boy where he took, he withdrew the ball from, I don't know what, who's that on. I got to talk to somebody like Marshall, you know, I guess he, he, he, he took the ball away and it's his, it's his right in a run pass option to say, I choose to pass.
And then the ball goes down on the turf. He always seems to make your mistakes pay. And so pay for your mistakes. So I, I, I, I can't argue this. And how can, how can you argue this? And, and you could say, you know, if, if you do put the metric of before turning 29 or before turning 30 on the best, right? Yeah.
Yeah. He's the best pre he's the best twenties, something quarterback we've ever seen. And he's, he's surpassed Brady in that regard.
I mean, there, there's enough, there's enough statistics to back that up as well. Well, cause he came in and we were already in the passing air. Brady was a game manager. The first go around. Well, I'll never forget John Madden in that first Superbowl against the Rams saying, just play for overtime. Yeah, don't, don't, don't do this with your, your first time around quarterback yards in that game. Yeah. So you could say again, under the age of 30 best quarterback ever. Yeah.
Second most second best of all time right now. Yes, sir. Right now.
Not an overreaction. Let's talk TurboTax people. You might be sitting there going, wait a minute, Rich.

Let's talk about the let's talk about the other game. Let's talk about Eagles here. Saquon Barkley guys. I've been telling you all your MVP. Saquon Barkley is a Super Bowl win away from the best running back season in NFL history.
Not an overreaction at all, sir. He's two yards shy of the most rut yards in a single postseason prior to reaching the Super Bowl 442 two behind John Riggins is in 1982. Riggins won the Super Bowl that year. He surpassed Terrell Davis is two remarkable seasons that essentially. Put TD in the in the Hall of Fame, correct, winning the Super Bowls in 97 and 98, including an MVP in the one in San Diego in his hometown when he ran for 424 yards before the Super Bowl, he surpassed that and the 366 in the following year by Terrell Davis.
He is here. Here you go right here. This will say it all for you.
Just to back this up as well, please do. He is the first NFL player ever with three or more rushing touchdowns of 60 or more yards in their entire playoff career, and he's done it this post season. The first time he ever made.
Here you go. Are you ready for this one? No. He made a couple of years. As a matter of fact, he got blown out in Philly. That's right. Now he's blowing people out for Philly. That's right.
This is the one that I think you will appreciate. Saquon Barkley is the first player all time with, cause as I just mentioned, he's, he's done all of these 60 or more yard touchdowns in this season, right? And he's the first one to do it in their entire playoff career.
And he's done it in the last three weeks. He is the first player all time with three or more 60 yard or longer touchdowns of any type in a single post season. So include receivers who have caught wow. Touchdowns for 60 or more yards in a single post season.
So include catchers of such distance length touchdowns, this dude, man, it's the most anyone's ever done in a single post season of any type of touchdown. So yes, Chris, which is again, I kept, I said it last week, the book is not closed on those in the giant's front office. It's not, it keeps being reopened and it keeps being reopened like a festering wound that he is the commanders take the opening drive 18 place, settle for a field goal, convert on not one, but two fourth downs, including one on fourth and five from the Philly 43, the commanders were coming out and saying, we are risking giving a short field, the most obvious fake punt ever. Well, the, the fake punt came on the other drive I'm talking about just the opening drive alone, Chris opening drive alone, the commanders do what they have to do, which is keep the ball away from Philly, convert fourth downs to make Philadelphia's defense feel like they can't stop them. Right. And, and also keep the Philadelphia defense on a field. Correct. Right. And, and try and wear them down and keep Philly's offense off the field and they put points on the board.
Okay. They do have to settle for a field goal. And just when the Eagles fans will be like, well, that was long and that actually looked good.
And that was actually effective. And Jayden Daniels, the, the Jayden Daniels that we've we fear who has no fear and can convert multiple fourth downs has shown up here. And the Eagles get the ball handed to Saquon Barkley and have the lead gone. You want to talk about valuable, it was unbelievable. That run was a crazy 60 yards, another 60 yarder to the house. And it flipped the script.
It reinvigorated the crowd that might've felt somewhat concerned about their day and totally remove the pressure. And then Hertz played a tremendous football game, like his best football game since the super bowl loss regular or post season Jaylen Hertz played. So, and he and Saquon Barkley are the first pair of teammates to have three rushing touchdowns in the same playoff game.
So it all worked and Barkley was the spark plug. And this is not an overreaction that he's a super bowl win away from the greatest running back season in NFL history. And if he does lose and has a good game again and rips off more, you could still make the case it's the best running back season in NFL history. Even though he doesn't win, like say Riggins did or Terrell Davis did in their terrific seasons. You could make cases, but that would open and shut it. I think so too.
If he'd also prevents the chiefs from three peating, throw that on top and avenges the super bowl 57 loss for the team that got to super bowl 57 through the giants and ending the first post-season of his career. Yes. Not an overreaction. Wow. Are we batting a thousand so far?
No, you were off on the first one. Debatable. Let's talk, let's talk commanders now. Obviously a spectacular season going from second overall to nearly making the super bowl. Jayden Daniels is going to have the commanders back in the final four next year.
It's still an overreaction, but I understand why you would have that level of excitement. I understand how commander's fans would feel that way. There's still a lot that has to go right injuries and, and, and things that you, you and I can't account for right now, sitting here the Monday after championship Sunday, after the greatest rookie quarterback season we've ever seen that we'll say they're in the final four next year that the commanders will get there again. I mean the hall of fame is littered with quarterbacks that got as far as Daniels and then never made it back or made it one super bowl, never made it back, which is why, you know, when you have the window of opportunity, you should open it and go through it if you can. But it's just another example of, of, of how, why we don't see rookies in, in the super bowl.
And I don't, I'm not putting that loss on Daniels. Obviously it's on everybody. It's on, it's on everybody that put the ball on the ground, his teammates didn't do it. It's on, it's on the three fumbles.
Yeah. I mean the turnovers were gutting. I mean, when, when at the worst time possible, correct, they all came at a worst time possible when, when the commanders had just fallen behind, Barkley rips one off the army Brown puts one on the ground. When they were trying to get points before the end of the half, knowing that the Eagles were going to get the ball to start the second half, they put the ball on the ground on the kickoff, you know, Austin Eckler, when there was an, made it an 11 point game. And you never know here in the second half, he puts it on the ground. So trying to make a play too.
He was down and that got back up and that's why you never know. I mean, what the lines were like, absolutely the lines after the line season last year, and they get to halftime of the NFC championship game with a double digit lead. You're thinking, Oh, there'll be back in the final four next year. Certainly we were thinking that when they won 15 regular season games and they didn't make it.
Yeah. So as much as I I'm, I'm bullish on the future and this player in particular and coach and staff, and they're going to get Kingsbury back. They're not going to lose him. I don't think he's going to get the saints job. The lone remaining open gig is worth chatting here on this championship Sunday edition of overreaction Monday.
What I'm saying is holes that they have maybe wide receiver hole or a running back defense free agents are going to want to come play with this kid after what, you know, what do you put on tape? The future is so bright. You got to wear Dion's blenders, but ceiling is now so much higher after all you've seen from this kid, but you can't sit here and be as a demonstrative as you are here, declarative. I'll just call this an overreaction Monday.
It's not average reaction overreaction. I got a riddle for you. What are yoga mats, a toothbrush and a Hyundai have in common? I'll give you a moment.
Time's up. If you guess they're all fun, well-designed and super useful, you guessed wrong. The answer is you can order all those things on Amazon.
That's right. You can now buy a Hyundai on Amazon, the same place where you order yoga mats, a toothbrush and pretty much everything else, all from the comfort of your home. And the best part, you won't even have to break down a car sized Amazon box after because you'll pick up your Hyundai at the dealer.
I mean, picture this, you're in your PJs, snugged in on your couch. You pull up Amazon on your phone and start the process right there. Just locate a nearby dealer, pick your color, your options, check the price. And with a few dotting of some I's and crossing of some T's, voila, your Hyundai is ready for pickup. It's that easy.
Just remember to put some real clothes on before you head over, will you? Hyundai now available on Amazon. Visit HyundaiUSA.com or call 562-314-4603 for more details.

Don't be ageist. It's time to put some sort of technology to use for close first downs. I hope we're around the corner for it. But we've been having this discussion for a decade, like what are we waiting for? Can I just, well, this is an obvious proper reaction because the technology exists. I'm sure they've worked on it. I'm sure they know how to use it, how to implement it. And it's just going to be getting some owners who just say, listen, nothing's ever going to be perfect. So I don't trust it. What are we going to do?
How much is it? That's what's going to happen in some of these owners meetings. And trust me, I've been in owners meetings. That is insane. Where I've heard some crazy talk at the early parts of my career when NFL network would broadcast from an owners meeting, I heard some crazy stuff. But yes, if there was a chip in the football and lasers, I want a ref with a fricking laser on his head.
You know? There should be. I got it. I understand that we might've been able to GPS down to the millimeter, whether that was a first down on that fourth down. I don't think there was any question. Allen push.
Okay. I mean, it doesn't help when you see one official from the top of your screen, give it a first down mark by the way that he was running in and then the one at the bottom of your screen, giving it a first down mark for Kansas city running into the screen towards the spot of the ball. And they deferred to the one who was running in that gave the ball to Kansas city, which leads me to say this, that all the doubt that comes from what I just laid out, okay. If this technology gets put into place, I turn to you as my resident gambler, rich eyes and show who not only puts, you know, hard earned American dollars on a certain events and certain outcomes and certain propositions from time to time, that you also bring to the equation what people in that world potentially think and how they view football through such a prism as overs and unders and propositions and, and spreads and half points and things of that nature. All that fun stuff. Teases.
Oh, love a good tease. I turn to you and say to you, if this happens, will you please make sure the rest of your gambling community does not say, well, who's the one who's reading this information. Who's the one who's the one in charge of the GPS.
Do we need to know, Oh, wait a minute. The laser company is owned by the glazers and they just gave the Buccaneers a first down or the chips chips were made in a country where such and such owner actually has three offices let us not turn this into everything else that it's fixed that, Oh my goodness gracious. I mean, by the way, that's going to come in major league baseball when they're going to start automating balls and strikes to the point where if somebody says, Oh, that was a ball, that was a ball. And, and, and I'm stepping out of the batter's box and they're going to use the same Hawkeye technology that tennis uses. And you're just going to see a computer generation of, of the pitch that just happened and see the ball that basically may be the way that they do spot the football, but there's going to be a graph, a computer generated recreation of here's the line of scrimmage and in comes the football. And we watch whether the shadow of the football creases the first down line, like that may be the way that it's actually presented to the viewing audience, whether it's as properly spotted football or not, but it'll be like, well, who's the one that made up that computer generated video. I don't think it could be somebody who bet on the chiefs, but please do not turn this into that on behalf of those who do not gamble to those who gamble and then create all of these conspiracy tinfoil hat garbage. And I think we just want to get it right.
And I understand that you watch the game, not everything's a fix or conspiracy when it comes to your gambling, nobody, nobody, nobody in the zebra outfit knows whether you've put your money on the over and the under, but everybody like everything that's happening on the screen is conspired to keep money from being doubled in your pocket. Do you think that was the first down? There were some angles where it looked at. There were some angles where it did not. There was one guy at the top of the screen that thought it was, there was one guy at the bottom of the screen who was, might've been blocked out by Chris Jones who thought it wasn't it's an imperfect science.
I do agree that if there is a science to make it perfect, let's use it. But do you think it was the first down? I do. Okay.
Yes. I thought on that angle from the, from the official that was running in from the top of the screen. When we saw the angle from that side, I do believe on the last push of Allen, but could you see, like you can see the helmet, you can see the helmet crossed it. And you're just assuming where the ball was before it got obscured under his chin. It was a first down. The ball would have had to have been, but can you agree that there wasn't a, there wasn't a replay that made it conclusive.
I thought the overhead angle that they showed before break looked like he got over, but then they didn't show it after the break. Weird. Oh, see, what do you think? CBS was just covering for somebody.
I don't know, but that leaves the window open by not showing it again to that type of conversation. Spoken like a true gambler. Rich, we did not get the Superbowl matchup that America wanted. Is that your, no, I thought that was the, I thought that was your, okay. I thought that was your, uh, your theory I needed to react to. We did not get the Superbowl.
I would say that's not an overreaction. It's really sad. However, this Superbowl coming up, rich will have less viewers than last year because of the repeat magic.
You are out of your skull. Last year, by the way, had 123.4 million, you're saying, you're saying they will be fewer viewers for the Superbowl viewership will go down because it's the chiefs versus the Eagles and people are like sick and tired. Chiefs fatigue will actually result in a defraying of Superbowl viewership. People are sick of the chiefs.
They're sick of Taylor Swift and the Eagles don't really do anything for anyone outside of Saquon Barkley. How was last year's Superbowl? Did it go down? Cause it was a rematch of the Superbowl of the year that Mahomes first won it. I know it's not two years removed.
It was more than two years removed, but still the same thing. Listen, you're out of your mind. The viewers of the Superbowl will go straight up. And the only way that it will possibly go down as it gets, there's a blowout.
I, I, it just, no way. I mean, and, and, and, and what Bill's Bill's chiefs is a rematch of it's of every year, you know? And a lot of people were thinking, might've been thinking, I don't need to see these two teams again. I would have loved to have seen, you know, fill in the blank.
I don't know. I understand that there's chiefs fatigue, immense chiefs fatigue. I think people are losing their minds over every flag that goes in favor of the chiefs and against any of their opponents that go nuts. When it looks like Mahomes is just pulling something out of his orifice and somebody should be better than they are or good enough to actually stop it. And you don't, and there's a sense of inevitability or in the case of gamblers fixing, I get it, but it will not result in fewer people watching this year's Superbowl.
And I am not somebody who's saying that because I'm paid by the NFL in another job, I'm telling you straight up. There are Eagles fans frigging everywhere, as you know, and there are chiefs fans and people who love Patrick Mahomes and people who love Travis Kelsey and people who love Travis Kelsey for something other than football, perfectly timed to put a picture of him with Taylor Swift after the game. There are way more people interested in this Superbowl than you think. Look at that scene in Philadelphia last night. It was crazy.
Broad Street was unbelievable. Look at this scene in Philadelphia last night. They pre-greased the polls.
Did you see that? That's what they did the last time. Hey, listen, they know the citizenry.
The government understands who their constituents are, sir. Horses needed their heads on a swivel last night. I got it. All right. Last one. Last one before we get to the look back from week 11, which I love doing.
And there are a couple of good ones there. Did you happen to notice that Friday news dump from Frisco, Texas? Was it 9.30 PM Friday night? Hey, dude. Hey everybody.
Hey everybody. This is what, this is basically what the Cowboys said Friday night. Um, we have a new coach. Um, but don't tell Ash Bond.
We don't want anyone to know. His name is Brian Schotten. We hired a new head coach and it's not Dion.
That's basically it. The Cowboys absolutely blew it. Not hiring Dion as head coach.
First of all, I don't know if Dion wanted it. Let's put it that way. That by the way, the conversation you want to, you be Jerry Jones.
I'll be Dion Sanders. Amazing. Okay. Hey Rich.
I can't do it. Old guy, Texas accent. Hey Rich, how's it going?
I'm Jerry. Thanks. Great to hear from you.
Thanks for answering it. You're one of those one ring guys. I know.
I know. Well, anytime you call me, did you see my cameo in land, man? Ask me the question, Jerry. Do you want to be the head coach of Dallas Cowboys? How much, and can I bring all of my assistants and how much are you going to pay those assistants?
And then what does the scouting department look like? Let me ask you about what I can do in terms of bringing my people for, um, uh, strength and conditioning. Um, what, what about the, um, what about the sponsors? Um, can I bring my own sponsors to the table for the Dallas Cowboys?
How do I bring all of my sponsors that connect with me through my program right now? Uh, DIA, I think you're breaking up. I think you're breaking up. We're driving through a landfill. This could be some of that.
Okay. Cause part of the reason why Brian Schottenheimer is hired. And I say this, um, I, I haven't spoken to Brian Schottenheimer in years, but I've met him. He is a delightful human. The fact that he is now a head coach in this league as the son of Marty is pretty cool. It is awesome. As a matter of fact, Schottenheimer's good people.
This guy is really terrific people. And he's going to get a shot at one of the most coveted head coaching gigs anywhere in any sport. He's getting this shot. Part of the reason why he's getting this shot is because Jerry Jones is paying him what he's paying him. That's got to be, I don't know what it is, but it is definitely less than any head coach in the American league of the American football conference, Western division that has a loaded roster. Now that Pete Carroll is in it, I, I bet you, it is one of the lowest salaries there is.
I do not know why Jerry Jones considers the head coaching position of his team to be a level of importance below a handful, I'm sure of other items that he feels is more important to bring a championship to Dallas, which is everything in this man's world. Yeah. He says it's all he cares about. And I think it is, I understand that we look from the outside in and go, this is weird. This is wild. This makes no sense. Why are you doing this? Certainly when you have nothing but resources at your disposal.
You would think, okay, so why do you do it this way? I don't have an answer to that question. It's crazy. So when you say they blew it, not hiring Dion as head coach, can Schottenheimer win the division? Can he win? Can he get Dallas to the NFC championship? We will see. I can't sit here and go terrible higher.
What are they doing? He's going to be eaten alive. He could actually live up to the moment. And he could be one of those guys that lets just Jerry B Jerry, and he lets me be me. And I've got Eber flutes to be a defensive coordinator, which by the way, make as much fun of it matter.
You're foolish as you want. He's excellent at that coach him up on D. Oh yes. So that's a, that's a great hire in the Superbowl. And you see Jayden Daniels is a top five quarterback in the NFL already after one year. And you're like, we are a million miles away.
I I'm I don't push back on that notion at all. You look at the Rams and look at their coach and what he's done. Look at everybody in the AFC West. Look what they've done to Mico Ryan's look what he's done already in Houston, my coaching matters, head coaching matters. I would be stunned if the Cowboys made the playoffs next year, if I had the opportunity to hire somebody who could bring all of that to the equation and a name and win the press conference and actually bring rings plural to the equation. And I had nothing but resources and money. I'd throw money at it.
What do I care? Exactly. So that's just not the way the Cowboys operate. So I'll just call this. I mean, in terms of, in terms of just surface proper reaction, but under the surface, it's just the way that they do business there and let's see what Brian Schottenheimer does. But if, if, if I wouldn't want to, I wouldn't blame Dion for putting all of those things out on the table to Jerry Jones and say, this is the way it's gotta be done for me to actually blow up when I'm building up here in Colorado and leave kids who I love and have promised something to.
So for me to actually move, this is the way it's gotta be done. And the price tag on that cocktail napkin, if it exists somewhere, nine figures, dude, you add it up, it's gotta be a factor of what they're probably paying Schottenheimer alone. Last one on this.
Let me just throw this out there. What percentage chance would you give that Dion is this year's Vrabel, meaning that the Patriots realized it was not going well at all. And so they wanted, and what are the chances they won and done son of Marty to hire Dion next year?
I think it's better than a dumb and dumber chance, but I don't know if Dion would be available at this point next year. And plus he's under contract, which means you're not just paying him money to coach. You're paying other people money to allow him to leave to go to your team. And if you're not going to pay somebody to coach because you don't view that position worthy of your resources to be allocated in that manner, you're going to pay another entity money so you could pay this person money.
It just doesn't make sense. And then you, and then you're going to dead salary, another human you're paying somebody money to not coach for you. Then you're paying somebody money to allow you the opportunity for someone to coach to you for you. And then you, you pay that person money to actually be your coach. And it's a lot of money. You can't take it with you.
Jerry's 82. Do you want to win or not totally get it? I'm not even a cowboy fan and this drives me insane. Let's finish up strong. Chris week 11. Look back.
We're going to look back 10 weeks ago. Week 11. Okay. Heading into week 11. All right.
I thought these were pretty interesting. Uh, seeing what Jayden, this is, this is mid November, mid November, mid November. This is right before Thanksgiving. Yes. Correct.
The week before Thanksgiving. All right. Looking what Jayden Daniels did this year. I said, Bo Nix is the best quarterback of this draft class and we'll win rookie of the year. Oops. Jayden Daniels, I think it was kind of, he was doing, there was a three game losing streak dealing with the ribbon. It was a three game losing streak before they ripped off all those wins in a row until the NFC championship game.
I mean, Bonix was awesome this year, but obviously not James Daniels. I said neither, it looked like neither the chiefs or the Ravens are making the AFC championship game. All right. How'd that go?
It didn't go well. And then I said, it was going to be like bills Texans, or you thought it was going to be like bills Broncos or chargers Steelers were hot, right? The Steelers were 10 and three. Yeah. See, yours were hot then. Yeah, they were. Yeah. And the one we got right.
49ers are going to miss the playoffs. And I think I pushed back saying too soon. Too soon. Yeah. McCaffrey had just come back. Let's see what happens when Drake Greenlaw comes back.
Yeah. Let's see what it would all go and now comes Brock Purdy and the conversation involving him. They're going to pay him a ton of money. Chris, get ready. And then you'll come on the air and you'll, I mean, we could script it right now. They're going to pay him a ton of money and I'm going to read it while it's his turn.
