On Tuesday, What the Football with Suzie Schuster and Amy Trask, their guest, Max Crosby, who I got to hang out with over the weekend. So for all you Raiders fans out there listening there in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Princess of Darkness will have the Condor as a guest.

And Suzie's going to crash the party talking about what we saw this weekend. I'm sure Max has some choice thoughts on the calls on Patrick Mahomes. I bet he does. I'll tell you, though, he was when we were sitting there watching these games on Saturday because we have a meeting after our show's over and the first game's on. He looked at me and goes, I got to be playing in these games, Rich. He didn't like watching.

But he did watch and he'll be on What the Football tomorrow. 844-204 Rich is the number to dial. Let's go to Dan in Florida here on the Rich Eisen Show. What's up, Dan?

Hey, Rich. Dan from Florida. I wanted to talk Commander's Football. You know, we talk about anybody, anywhere, anytime, and we know who it is. It's the Eagles. We know where it's going to be. It's going to be at Lincoln Financial.

We know a time it's going to be Sunday at 3 p.m. Eastern Time. And I couldn't be more fired up, Rich, for this football team. I mean, that environment. I went to the game in Detroit. And what a great environment to watch a game.

I mean, with everything on the line, Rich, I was sitting there thinking before the game, talking to the Detroit fans I was sitting with, that all the pressure was on Detroit. You know, we've won three Super Bowls. They haven't won any. We won three times, beat them three times in the playoffs. And, you know, we just beat them for the fourth time. And, you know, you got me fired up with all that talking about Jayden Daniels.

And it's like he has ice in his veins. But what I definitely appreciate, you know, is our defense, Rich. We took that ball over four times in that game in Detroit. And, you know, we're going to do it again this Sunday, man. And, you know, I respect the Lions. I respect the Eagles.

You know, obviously we got a lot of history. I've been a fan for over 40 years. And, you know, what a great game and it's going to be a great environment in Philly this week, Rich. Dan, thanks for the call. Appreciate it. I'm glad. And congrats on what's going on with your team. Ding dong. Dan Snyder's not coming back. And here they are.

Wow. And like I said, just in case you're just joining us, I've never seen a rookie quarterback like Jayden Daniels. Best rookie quarterback ever. That's what you asked me in overreaction Monday.

The answer is absolutely. Because the other rookie quarterbacks who have been in this situation before, Brock Purdy and Mark Sanchez. Yes, even Joe Flacco, Ben Roethlisberger. They were all like, just don't hurt us. Just do just enough. Let the defense handle it. Let the running game handle it. Let the coaching staff handle it. And it's the exact opposite with Jayden Daniels. Go win the game.

Go do your thing. And he's just like, OK, coach, I got it. Now, I shouldn't have to say this because this is with the commanders and the Eagles, the fifth time in playoff, in the playoffs since divisional realignment in 2002. This will be the fifth conference championship matchup between divisional opponents, Eagles and commanders. Anybody that's out there wondering, how often does this happen? The last time it happened was when the Rams beat the 49ers to go to the Super Bowl. It is the first time, however, it's happened in the NFC East. So here we go.

So I don't think the commanders need this advice, but I'll give it anyway. When you play the Eagles, there's a guy who runs the ball for them at the running back position. Got to make the distinction because, you know, the quarterback can run it in from 44 yards out to start the game, like Jaylen Hertz did on Sunday before the snows came against the Rams. But stop Saquon Barkley.

That would be the first order of business. This guy, man, nightmare fuel. And the Rams lost the last game that Matthew Stafford started, the last time before Sunday that they had lost a game that Matthew Stafford started. It was a game where Saquon ran all over for 255 yards, 300 from scrimmage on the Sunday night in Los Angeles, with the Eagles fans going so crazy that Jared Furst came out this week, said, I hate them. At least he backed it up right, though, with his play.

As most of the Rams did, many of the Rams did, with the city of Los Angeles still on fire, rooting for their team in ice, to use the Game of Thrones phrase. But Saquon Barkley did it to them again. 205 rush yards. So they stopped them 50 fewer yards.

Kept them in check. 26 rushes and two touchdowns. And he's the first player in Eagles playoff history with 200 or more rushing yards and two or more rushing touchdowns in a single game, six player to do at all time in the history of the NFL.

He surpassed Hall of Famer Steve Van Buren in those categories. Here's the stat, though. Here's the stat in terms of including playoffs in a single season. This stat kind of says it all.

We put it on a board here. Saquon Barkley had six rushing touchdowns of 60 or more yards this season. That's an all time mark. Six better than Saquon Barkley against the Rams. Two better than Saquon against the Rams. Two better than Adrian Peterson and two better than Jim Brown.

So in terms of, again, by the way, great headline on this board by Sean Mitchell. I ran Barkley. Most rushing touchdowns of 60 or more yards in a single season, including the playoffs. Saquon Barkley tops the list with six. Two better than Adrian Peterson in 2012. Jim Brown in 1963 and Saquon against the Rams, period. How silly is that? Here's another stat that basically tells you about how you got to stop Saquon and Jalen Hurts as well.

Okay. Cause Jalen had 44 yards on a single game to start the scoring. And then Saquon popped a rushing touchdown of 62 yards to put the Eagles back up because they missed an extra point on the Jalen Hurts touchdown. And then the 78 yarder that put them up two scores. And yes, just enough to avoid the Matthew Stafford moment of the ages that was unfolding in front of everybody. So that 78 yarder did salt the game in the snow, but we didn't know it at the time.

It was necessary with four and a half to go. That 78 yard rushing touchdown, the longest rushing touchdown in Eagles playoff history and the longest rushing touchdown in a playoff game all time that's tied for fifth there in that department. The Eagles though, this is the stat, and this is why Saquon is the difference maker.

This is why he's the MVP of the team. And you know, if they waited to give the MVP award and made it a full season award available to those playoff performances to sway the vote, the Eagles gained 184 yards on their three touchdowns and 166 yards in their other 58 offensive plays. The big game moment with the big strike moment together is how you can also win playoff games. They also won the turnover battle. The Eagles defense was superb because the person who sealed the deal was Jalen Carter. When the Rams offensive line, essentially to be point blank, seemed to forget to block him on the two most important snaps of the game, the final ones.

And yes, with Quinon Mitchell out and Nicobe Dean out, they found the right people to make the right plays at the right time. And the Rams were the ones who turned it over. And Nick Sirianni watched as Kellen Moore made a wild play call in their final possession of the game, where they could salt it away just by getting one more first down instead of handing it to Barkley. They kept it in Hertz's hands and he just took a sack.

I don't know what the hell that was. They were trying to win this game. And that was essentially giving the Rams the ball back and setting the stage for another Matthew Stafford moment of the ages. But the person who can come into the fray and overcome all of that is Saquon Barkley, who just is a perfect Philadelphia Eagle. In the same way that we were talking about Derrick Henry fitting hand and glove into the Ravens offense, into their organization and mantra. This guy is exactly what the Eagles needed and are using to advance in the playoffs. And he's just a perfect guy to have in front of the microphones after.

Whether it's national spotlight or it's Saturday on a parking lot, it don't really matter. You know, I just want to make the plays for the team. And before that, I just kind of kept telling myself, just locking in, being focused. And O-Line did a really good job and I was able to set stuff up with my shoulders and pop two big ones. So it was good.

We talked a lot about this week, that famous snow game. How much did the atmosphere definitely live up for it? The atmosphere was crazy, man.

I mean, it was insane. Like, got a smile on my face thinking about it. This is what you dream about. This is why I came to Philly. I wanted to be a part of games like this and I'm just happy to be able to be a part of it. That's why I came to Philly. I'm just sitting there, I was wondering, I don't know if you guys were too, I'm sorry to do this. And it happens and they need to get ready for it if he makes the Super Bowl. I'm just watching, where was John Marrow watching that? Oh yeah, I was thinking about that.

When was the last time you think you had a good night's sleep? I know, they've been kind of poking fun about it. I mean, he said it in the hard knocks, like, how can you watch that and be like, dude. How do the Giants sit there and get through the day? When this guy is coming up so big in the biggest moments for their biggest rival, geographically. They're right down a turnpike and he runs one in the snow. They're going to be talking about this forever.

But the staging of it was monster in terms of the time and the distance that he ran and the moment in the game and the snow's coming down. He's slamming his head because he knows that he's scoring. And then the fans just go singing Fly Eagles Fly, which to Eagles fans is the greatest song ever.

And according to everyone else, certainly up the turnpike, it is nails on a friggin' chalkboard. And these people are as happy as they've maybe ever been watching a football game and the Giants let it happen. I'm sorry to keep bringing it up. But the Eagles are in the NFC championship game against the Washington commanders. I wonder how many times people, you might be direct messaging me these videos on Instagram, whatever, of Joe Shane's kids saying trade up for Jayden Daniels. There's no way the commanders were going to be. I mean, they could have offered the entire Mike Ditka draft trade. They weren't turning away from Jayden Daniels.

They weren't going to do it. But the Eagles are in it against the commanders. And Saquon Barkley may be the one who's the difference maker over the commander's difference maker. And he could be sending the Eagles back to the Superdome, to the place where the Eagles' first Super Bowl appearance ever happened. That was where Vermeil and Ron Jaworski went at it with the Raiders.

They can go back to the future and win their second championship. And that, hey, if they see the Chiefs, guess what? It's not going to come down to a defensive hold, because Saquon's going to take it to the house from 70 yards out.

It certainly feels that way. It feels like every time he touches the ball, I'm just expecting, I kind of felt that way with Derrick Henry last night in the second half. Get this guy the ball, gone.

Home run, possibly every single play. Right. He's the, and I don't mean to, I'm not denigrating anyone else.

I really am not. Would DeAndre Swift have done it? What if they were like, you know, hey, we're going to, we're all in. Kenneth Gamewell's our guy. You know, let DeAndre Swift walk. We're just not, we do not spend money on the free agent. What if they took the approach of, we don't need our 45s, $50 million a year quarterback handing off to a $15 million running back. That's not what we do here.

How did that happen? With the Rams have won? Maybe twice against the Eagles? Seriously.

I don't, I'm just, I guess I'm, I'm prepping it. Cause if the Eagles go to the Superbowl and win it all, it's just going to, it's just going to certainly it's Saquon might be the MVP of the whole damn thing. He might wind up with the record for most rushing yards in a single season. Terrell Davis is only in front of Saquon now by two yards for the second most.

All he's got to do is get three yards against the commanders. He's got the second most rushing yards in the history of an NFL season, including the playoffs. By the way, in the same number of games as Terrell Davis, because don't forget Saquon sat out the last game of the regular season. So there's no asterisk here of all you played 17 regular season games. Terrell didn't. The same number of games as TD.

Same number. And all he's got to do is get over 148 yards against the commanders. And he's the most ever in the same number of games as Terrell Davis. That's who the Eagles added to their offense. And if they see the chiefs in the Superdome and beat them, it'll be like, who cares about defensive holding? We got this guy.

844-204 Rich is the number to dial. Mark Schlerath is going to join us next. Three-time Super Bowl champ, former Washington, I guess, commander, right? Back in the day when they weren't called that.

Mark Schlerath when we come back here on the Rich Eisen Show with his two cents on all. I got a riddle for you. What do yoga mats, a toothbrush, and a Hyundai have in common? I'll give you a moment.

Time's up. If you guessed they're all fun, well-designed, and super useful, you guessed wrong. The answer is you can order all those things on Amazon.

That's right. You can now buy a Hyundai on Amazon, the same place where you order yoga mats, a toothbrush, and pretty much everything else, all from the comfort of your home. And the best part, you won't even have to break down a car-sized Amazon box after because you'll pick up your Hyundai at the dealer. I mean, picture this.

You're in your PJs, snugged in on your couch. You pull up Amazon on your phone and start the process right there. I go back and forth. Is the biggest story that the Bills are back in the AFC championship game when everybody thought this was the year they wouldn't even win their division, that they did beat the Chiefs in the regular season, right? And were the only team to beat the Chiefs in a game that Mahomes started. And thus are, when it all comes down to it, the biggest threat in the AFC when we're wondering, could it be the Texans?

And we saw what happened. Could it be the Ravens? They didn't even make it back to Arrowhead. Or Jayden Daniels. Is that the biggest story?

I think for me it's Jayden Daniels. Just considering where they were last year. Four wins, second pick in the draft.

They completely turned around. New head coach, new ownership. You know, they're trying to get the new stadium, what the fans have been through, how long it's been, et cetera, et cetera. I think that's the biggest story. Am I missing out on anything else? Or are those the two choices? I mean, you know, obviously Saquon doing what he did.

The Eagles are in the NFC championship game. What do you think? You got to turn your mic on. There you go. See, that wasn't me.

Okay, go for it. I got to piggyback off him just on something that we always kind of talk about Magic Johnson, right? You see the video of Magic greeting all the players when they were coming into the locker room after the game. I mean, that just changed everything from this, like you said, from the Dan Snyder debacle to now you got this ownership. You've got one of the greatest athletes of all time to greet you when you come.

It looks like everything has changed with that organization. And quite frankly, it upsets me and it makes me sick. And I don't like to see it. So I guess the question is, is it him watching the NFC championship game or me?

The college championship game is a tougher watch. Wow. Great question. Back here on the Rich Eyes and Show radio network. I'm sitting at the Rich Eyes and Show desk furnished by Grainger with supplies and solutions for every industry. Grainger has the right product for you.

So we're going to empty the phone back. We've got more than enough time to do that after our chat with three time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth, NFL on Fox analyst. Good to see you, Mark. Great to see you, Rich fan. So your takeaway from the divisional playoff weekend is what?

I'll just give you the floor and what what what leaves you first blush talking about. Yeah, I heard you guys. I heard you guys talking about it. And the Jayden Daniels stuff is amazing. I mean, it's absolutely amazing when you consider the fact that this is the most dysfunctional organization under Dan Snyder. I mean, it was such a wreck.

It was I mean, an absolute train wreck. And here you get. Dan Quinn and Jayden Daniels to come in here and Dan Quinn. You know, I always get enamored with everybody talking about the fact that, hey, you've got to hire some young offensive guru, you know, somebody that's young, that's going to connect with today's players. And I always laugh about that because you can either communicate and connect. You're either authentic or you're not.

So your age truly has nothing to do with that. If you connect with people, you can connect with people. If you can communicate, you can communicate. And that's what Dan Quinn's been able to do. And then to look at yourself as a defensive coach and say, hey, listen, you know what? I'm not going to err on the side of protecting my defense. My offense and my own quarterback is what wins us games. So I'm going to put it all into him and defense be damned. We'll go for on every fourth down if we have to.

It doesn't matter to me. And I'm going to put it on the quarterback's shoulders. I'm not going to it's not about managing the quarterback and running the ball and making sure we don't put too much on him. Everything is going to be on every critical situation, every fourth down conversion.

Everything that we do as an organization is going to be on number five. And to sit there and do all those things and to be where you are right now is absolutely incredible. I would argue that of all the quarterbacks that have played in the playoffs this year, there is no quarterback playing better than Jayden Daniels at this particular point in time. And oh, by the way, I would also argue this is the greatest rookie quarterback season we have ever seen in the National Football League. It's just amazing. One hundred percent. We were saying that before, Mark.

I don't I don't have any problems saying this. He is the greatest rookie quarterback I've ever seen. And and when you look at the list of rookies who have started in conference championship games, they all have one thing in common. And that even includes Ben Roethlisberger in 2004, who didn't lose a game until that conference championship game, is they were all game managers by trade because the coaches were all saying, don't go and make a mistake in a high leverage situation. Let the running game handle it. Let the defense handle it. As a matter of fact, with Ben, Mark, you recall back when he won the Super Bowl and Cower goes off into retirement, the concept was Mike Tomlin's coming in and Ben can now play freer because he's got a coach that wasn't there when he was a rookie to tell him to slow things down and don't do too much. And we saw Ben make a Super Bowl and win it a couple of years later.

That's my whole way of basically winding up to say Daniels is the exact opposite. They're saying we want the high leverage for you and go do it on fourth down with three minutes to go and keep winning the games. It's unbelievable. I've never seen it.

I haven't either. I mean, I, I played, you know, I go back throughout not only growing up and loving the game and watching the game and, you know, and being a kid growing up in Alaska, being a huge fan of the National Football League, but like 12 years of playing and now 25 years of covering this game. And I'm like, I've never seen anybody put in that many high leverage situations where the organization is going, hey, go make a play for it.

It's all on you. Hey, it's third down and long. It's fourth down and whatever. Go throw the ball, go scramble, go do something, but just go get us a victory.

And it is, it's absolutely incredible. And then to go to Detroit in a divisional round of the playoffs against that juggernaut of an offense that Detroit has and say, hey, we're going to go toe to toe with these guys because we know we can't slow them down for the long haul. So let's put the, let's put the pressure back on their offense. Like by just by design, it is so counterintuitive to everything I've ever known about football and to have Dan Quinn put his football team in that position where most of the time as a defensive coach, you're always erring on the side. You want to err on the side of protecting your defense. He's like, screw my defense. Like my quarterback's the best thing going. So if we put our defense in some tough situations, so be it. That's okay because our quarterback's going to bail us out of those situations.

Mark Schlereth here on the Rich Eisen show. Do you think it's going to be different from the Bills this time around based on what we just saw against the Ravens? And by the difference, I mean, going in Arrowhead and, and taking care of the three-peat.

Yeah. Listen, I have, I've just learned, like I hate, you know, I hate Kansas city with a white hot and Jesse of a thousand sons. That's my Denver Bronco coming out in me.

You know, and I love, you know how I am on, on X and you know, I love going after cheese fans or jets fans or anybody, anybody I can get a rise out of. But I have a ton of respect for the Kansas City Chiefs. You know, the Kansas City Chiefs, you know, the, the personal foul and the late hit on the quarterback, like, like that, that wasn't what caused the eight sacks.

They gave up. That wasn't the cause of the lack of special teams, attention to detail and the blocked field goal and the, and the return and all those things. Kansas city just puts you in a position for you to make a mistake.

And I go back to Steve Spagnola. He blitzed about five straight plays in a row where he's playing zero coverage and say, Hey man, I have so much faith in my guys. Their ability to get there by design a blitz, their ability to cover on the back end of that thing that we're just going to go out to the quarterback and we're going to go get him.

And so they just do everything. Well, we just talked about the critical moments of Jayden Daniels and how well he plays. Well, we just do everything well in those moments as a football team. So I like to, you know, I like to poke the bear and I like to say, Oh, it's not fair.

And Oh, it's this, that and the other. But the bottom line is the chiefs just go out and find ways to win. And ultimately I have a ton of respect for them as an organization and for the way they, the way they play and the way they execute. So then the, the the lions lost.

Why? Because golf made too many mistakes or the defense just lost too many players. And it finally came home to roost against a kid as special as Jayden Daniels and an offense that could just roll it up with the mistakes that golf made.

Yeah. I mean, there were five turnovers on the offensive side of the ball and obviously golf made too many mistakes. I mean, we're talking about going into this game.

Who would you rather have? And, you know, was it a rookie in Jayden Daniels or is it the veteran in golf who has really played for the majority of the season? Except I think that one game against Houston where he had five turnovers at an MVP type level. And, you know, I came into this thing thinking, Hey man, I want the drop back guy that has that running game, that has that many offensive weapons, who has the best offensive line in football.

And once again, like I normally am in a lot of things, I was wrong. Jayden Daniels was exceptional. And that's a football team that has played this fine line in Detroit where they've had so many defensive injuries that they've had to say, Hey, our offense has got to be what bails us out. Our offense has got to be this show. Our offense has got to put so much pressure on the opponent's offense that they ended up turning over the ball.

And that just wasn't the case. Their offense didn't come through. Their offense didn't play and execute that game plan. And therefore, you know, with those five turnovers, those extra possessions, Washington was able to come away and hang forty five points on them. So that was, you know, I expected that offense to go out and play exceptionally well, like they have pretty much all season long and they just weren't able to execute at that level in that critical moment at that time.

Mark Schlereth here on the Rich Eisen Show. What's your impression of the Eagles win? Listen, you know, it's really interesting because their passing game the last couple of weeks, at least through the playoffs, has not been very good. But when you can totally control line of scrimmage on both sides of the line of scrimmage, you've got a chance to win any game. Your quarterback, like you're in a position right now. If your quarterback doesn't turn it over, you're going to be in every ball game because you dominate the line of scrimmage.

You can run the ball with Saquon Barkley at two hundred five yards in that game against the Rams. And then to me, defensively, Jalen Carter is like unblockable right now. And you've got guys like Zach Bong who's flying around making plays. You've got guys off the edge and Smith who are making plays and their defensive secondary, even with Quiñon Mitchell going down with the injury.

Darius Slay played unbelievably well. Like they're they're a damn good football team. And if they if they just get like literally if they just don't have their quarterback turn it over, they've got a chance to be in every single ball game. Yeah, I guess you could say that for everybody. Every division winner got out gained by their opponent, but they didn't turn it over. That's the key. They every division, every divisional weekend winner had zero turnovers despite being out gained. And even I mean, the Ravens out gained the bills by almost a record amount and lost that game.

Mark, I mean, yeah, yeah. Well, you turn the ball over, you know, you look at it and Lamar Jackson even talked about it. He said, hey, listen, in these games, the playoffs, I've been too amped up. I get a little bit antsy or a little bit anxious and I make some mistakes.

And those things rear their ugly head. The interception was I mean, it's a common route combination. You got a little smash with a corner route.

You get leverage on the DB. It's perfectly executed versus man coverage. And you throw it nine yards over your receiver's head, about six yards inside the receiver. It's it's a it's an unbelievably poorly thrown ball and that gets picked off. And then you have the bad snap, but you regain the ball and then you try to do too much with the football instead of just eating it. And you put a fumble on the ground. And that's the turnover there. And then, you know, you get the first and goal.

It says it's a 14, seven ball game, first and goal from the two yard line. And you end up taking a sack on second down. Like those are the type of mistakes that end up costing you football games. Now, he was exceptional toward the end of that game and putting that drive together where Mark Andrews dropped the ball. But that wasn't the that wasn't the best throw ball.

It was a little bit late and a little bit, you know, soft and inside. And so I'm not excusing Mark Andrews because he'll tell you a hundred out of a hundred times he'll catch that ball. But it just was little things like that. It's not just the interception, not just the fumble.

There were a couple of other mistakes made within that ball game that cost them the football game. And it's everybody. It's Mark Andrews. It's it's Lamar. It's the coaching staff.

You know, there's just little mistakes made along the way that end up costing you. And as you mentioned, the Bills made no turnovers, no mistakes. And they end up getting the victory and they're the ones going to the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs. So then is it fair when Lamar winds up shy of the AFC Championship game that he hosted last year and Jared Goff winds up shy of the NFC Championship game he led at halftime last year that they just don't have the stuff in the big games? Is that fair to hear in and into microphones in our business right now? Because you know that that's the sort of stuff that gets said.

It's just they don't have it. These are the big games. And even with Josh Allen having an MVP campaign, if he doesn't do it in Mahomes' house again, the same thing will be said there. Is it is that a fair criticism, Mark? Yeah, it's it's fair until you change it. It's just, hey, Peyton Manning was considered, hey, once he gets the playoffs, Peyton Manning's not good in the playoffs. And until you win it and until you do it in in the biggest stages, like, is it fair?

No, it's probably not fair, but it is what it is. I mean, when we get when we get right down to it next year, coming into this season, it'll it'll again be, hey, Lamar has not performed in the playoffs. And you put up his stats and he's a 60 percent completion guy or maybe a tick under. He's got as many turnovers as he does. Touchdowns are close to it. And is that fair?

No. But that's the numbers are the numbers. And when you get to the playoffs, man, you got to you got to play well. And he has not played as well as he would like to or as well as the Baltimore Ravens have needed him to play in that situation. Same with golf. Same with, you know, same with all those quarterbacks or all those players. So it's never fair. But that's the narrative that exists when you don't perform on the biggest stage.

And and those are one of those that's just one of those things you got to live with, I guess. I guess Elway had that, too, right? Right.

Sure. I mean, we drug some teams to Super Bowls. He was only three in those games. And I'll never forget Super Bowl thirty two heading out to San Diego to play that game and being a part of that. And hearing, you know, even our own fan base, like, oh, we just can't we can't stomach the Broncos going back out to another Super Bowl and getting drugged. Because I think at the time when we took off, we're like 13 point underdogs were getting drugged in another Super Bowl. That would just be a fate worse than death. You know, and people literally didn't want us to go like our own fan base was like, oh, my gosh, not these guys again.

So, you know, I mean, I get it until you overcome it. That's going to be the narrative. And by the way, in that particular game, when, you know, this one's for John, look at John's stats. John's stats were not good in that game at all. He didn't have good stats. It was Terrell Davis. It was MVP. But all of a sudden, you know, all of a sudden that narrative of can't win the big one, even though you didn't have good stats, was a race. And then, of course, he goes on to win the Super Bowl MVP the next year. But like, that's just the way it works. And is it fair? Probably not.

But it is what it is. Before I let you go, give me your prediction. Who makes it out of championship game weekend and we see in New Orleans in a couple of Sundays? Like, I'm I'm picking the bills because mostly just because I don't want to see Kansas City go again. And listen, I'll be I'll be I'll be I'm part of one of the teams that went back to back. I don't want to see somebody go back to back to back.

I don't want to see somebody three point three feet. So I'm going with the bills. And let's you know what? Let's make it a Super Bowl 26 rematch. I'm going to go with Washington.

Why not? OK. Washington and Buffalo would be a highly entertaining Super Bowl. There's no doubt about that. Certainly would love, love our chats. Thanks again for for being the guy on the show on such an important day, Monday after divisional playoff weekend. Greatly appreciate it. You got it.

Or cut one, which could be Malcolm Butler. All right. Here we go. Do you have any.

Sit down and be quiet. All right. With Al Michaels, first one up for Al Michaels and start bench cut.

Do you have any music? Mike Del Tufo, please. Thank you. Cuts of steak. Ribeye, filet mignon, New York strip, ribeye, filet mignon, New York strip. You must start one, bench one and cut one.

Al Michaels. New York strip is in the Hall of Fame. So that's the story. Filet is, you know, on the bench. Ribeye is great, but the problem is it's so fatty.

So, you know, you're always watching your weight. So I love ribeye, but I got to cut it. You're cutting ribeye.

I'm cutting ribeye. New York strip is in the Hall? Oh, yeah. That's the best. First Ballot? First Ballot? Yeah.

They waived the five year waiting period too. And you're a medium rare guy, right? Medium rare plus.

Okay, medium rare plus. Wow, look at that. Okay, next one up for Al Michaels. Start, bench, cut. Event to call. Super Bowl, World Series, Olympics.

Start, bench, cut. Oh, boy. Oh, yeah. Well. Super Bowl, World Series, Olympics. Oh, you think I got to put the Super Bowl as the starter. Okay. Bench.

When am I going to bench here? That's the idea. I haven't done the World Series since 1995. So that's cut, I guess. Okay. The Olympics. Well, yeah.

I'm going to put the Olympics on waivers, but I'm going to bring it back. Okay. Very good. Al, we got a bonus one. You have one?

Yeah, we got a bonus one. Okay. All right, Al, ready? Golf partner. Start, bench, cut. Golf partner.

Okay. Doc Rivers, Pete Sampras, Rich Eisen. Since I played golf with all of these guys.

Be honest. I'll probably start Doc. I knew that. Doc is extremely competitive. Pete's a lot of fun to play with. But Pete, he's been through the competitive realm of his life. So he's out there to have fun.

And Rich, I'm sorry, but you know. I'm cut? Let's put it this way. I'm fun. I'm fun. Neither of us would make the cut.

We'd be gone by Friday afternoon. Al's a crowd pleaser. That's exactly what you wanted to hear, Brockman. Can't believe that was a start, bench, cut. That was fun. I think you surprised me with that one, right? I didn't know that one was coming. That was one more. That was one more.

I appreciate it. Sorry, Rich Eisen. You and I played with Pete one year at the Red Cross event.

Yeah. He could hit it. Pete can play. Marty Fish is the one, though, that won you a golf bag. We came in first that year with Marty Fish. And we won the travel bag that I still use to this day. Oh, is that right? Oh, yeah.

Great bag. That was the Red Cross event, right? Yeah, that was a fun time to play in those.

Those were fun times. 844-204-Rich is the number to dial here on the program. I'm going to revisit the subject matter in the third hour.

NFC championship game for you, college national championship game for me. Why put that up as a poll? Oh, great. Back here on the Rich Eisen Show, 844-204-Rich number to dial. Our poll question that I asked you to pop up, top of hour number one, where does that currently stand right now?

I rephrased it. I don't like the back-to-back ins. For which team do you have more faith in the future? Lions or Ravens?

Any guesses? I'm going to say people have more faith in the Ravens than the Lions because of their MVP quarterback. And possibly losing coordinators.

So it is Ravens, 54.5% to the Lions, 45.5%. Yeah, Aaron Glenn already has interviews on Tuesday and Wednesday with the Jets and the Saints. And I'm just wondering if Tom Brady was waiting by the locker room like John Cusack with his boom box for Ben Johnson in Detroit.

He could just go right down the elevator and just go, hey Ben, are you free Monday? Listen, I understand you're bummed right now, but are you free Monday to talk about coaching the Raiders? I'm guessing both those guys have jobs fairly soon this week. What, both coordinators?

Yeah. I know Bears fans are really hoping Ben Johnson goes there. Well, the Bears still have 38 more interviews to conduct. I don't know, I think they're, you know, and listen, we were making fun of the Jets too, but Pelissero was saying until guys are available from the playoffs to speak in person, you're kind of just spinning your wheels anyway. You might as well just keep interviewing people. And if Woody Johnson has the time on his schedule to interview Rex Ryan and 13 other people, he might have no interest in hiring, then so be it. I guess just get the right guy. On your Dan Quinn, how does that sound?

Oh, that's nice. Cause you know, I know a team that had a Dan Quinn and then they let him walk and now they got nobody. I hate football, man.

I'm starting to really hate this game. Are you hearing who's currently the odds on favorite to be the next head coach of the Dallas Cowboys? Sure. Have you heard it? Pleasant, dirty dozen, naughty rotten Rima, curse-natured players worse than Brian Schottenheimer to quote Eminem. He's your new apparently odds on leader in the clubhouse, the offensive coordinator. Give me props.

One of my favorite verses. Not been a head coach anywhere, has been an offensive coordinator in many places, including Dallas, and that would continue the continuity for Dak that Dak is looking for. Can I deal us with you something about Rich? Yeah, sure. Okay.

I was thinking about this all weekend while I'm not returning text messages, it's because I'm in my own thoughts. We gave 60 million to a quarterback who I love, but has had an ankle bone snap through the skin, has had a hamstring rip off the bone, has had numerous fingers and hands and ligaments in his hands be snapped and crushed. You don't come back from those injuries better than you were before those injuries occurred. And I'm looking at these other teams with this Jayden Daniels, and they're not going to deal with this guy for the next 15 years. Yes, you do. And jailing hurts.

Can't confirm. And you know, like we... They're battling for the right to represent the National Football Conference in the Super Bowl. We're in trouble, is what I'm saying, for the foreseeable future. I mean, we've been in trouble, I guess, but I don't see this getting any better. Like, you know, 10 and 7, great.

You know, 11 and 6 every year, then lose in the playoffs if we make it. This is frustrating. So who's... Let's go to Greg in Iowa here on the Rich Eisen Show. Greg, you're on the Rich Eisen Show, because I think Greg's got the answer for you, Dion. I can't switch teams, Greg. Sanders, right, Greg?

Yep, got the answer for you. What's the answer, Greg? The answer is you get Dion Sanders as your head coach. He trades Dak away and drafts his son.

Well, you had me at the Dion part, Greg. Do it. Do it.

Just do it. You get rid of the salary. You get rid of Dak's salary.

I don't think... He's got a rookie quarterback. But trading him away doesn't just wipe him off your cap. No, no. You've got some caps.

You've got a lot. I can't even imagine... Trading him, I think, accelerates a lot of his contract. Once you sign somebody to 60 million, he's not going anywhere. Now, if you think that Dion can unlock Dak in a way that would get him to win a playoff game, then you're talking. Now you're talking.

Thanks for the call, Greg. Because Dak has won divisions. Dak has won 12 games in regular seasons, multiple years in a row.

But Dak has not broken through to the NFC Championship game, which is now the longest streak within the division of a team that hasn't been back there now that the commanders just broke their 32 season long drought. Now that's the answer here, is Dion that guy. And if you're Jerry, do you go ahead and do it? Because part of the reason Brian Schottenheimer's name is getting mentioned, if this is in fact the case, if this is in fact a reason why he's now a betting favorite and is apparently blowing up... His name is blowing up the cell phones of a lot of information men and women are a business to kind of confirm all this stuff. Part of the reason why he's there is Jerry doesn't want to pay his coaches, I guess. Like the going rate for someone like Sean Payton or Mike Tomlin or Belichick if he comes back. Too much. Obviously, too much.

And that to me would be, if that is in fact the case, that one I don't understand. Because there's no cap here, there's no cap, and you've got the money. Blue hat. Salary cap. No blue hat. Right, no blue hat. There's no cap. You can spend as much as you want here and all you got to do is what? Go back to the patch and drill one more time and find something?

Get that fifth one. You know what I mean? I don't know. He's not going to pay a guy to do the job that he ultimately is going to do himself in the long run anyway. Well, he's not coaching the team. He's got to get- I don't know that. He's not coaching the team.

Do you know that, Chris? He's not coaching the team. He's not? He's not.

Thank you. It seemed that way. He's not coaching the team. He's in control of the roster, that is for sure, and he is in control of the microphone. He's in control of the megaphone that comes out of the team to represent the team and maybe even have a larger megaphone than the coach, and if he can handle the coach having a larger megaphone than him and just take a step back and you do the roster and let somebody figure out how to unlock Dak, if Brian Schottenheimer is going to unlock Dak in the divisional playoff round, hire him. I don't know.

He's certainly not going to unlock the fans like yourself to think that this thing's not a lost cause watching the Eagles and commanders fight for the right to go represent the entire conference and win the whole damn thing in the Gulf South, I might add. This is my next door. Our number three coming up right here on the Rich Eisen show. It's all about us. You know, so Brockman, you remember that movie? I love you, man.

Yes. Remember when they're out golfing and Jason Segel got hit with the golf ball because he went on the double date with the girl and he was like, this is my nightmare. I feel like him. This is my absolute nightmare. Guess what, guess who's first up, first up nightmare for both me tonight. Me tonight.

All right. So I put out a poll. Who will be hate watching a game most this week? Cowboys fan TJ at the NFC championship game or Michigan man, rich tonight, national champion. Oh, I'm going to win that poll going away. He has to win it because at least he has something to fall back on this team beat one of the teams and you're riding the crest of a Natty. I got nothing, man.

Early results, rich 62%. Riding the quest of a Natty, by the way, that's a pretty good horse name. Riding the quest, riding the crest of a Natty, it's a good, it's a good, I think it was, I think it was, that was the original title of horse with no name. Bon Jovi song. I don't know.

I've been to the desert on the horse. That's America riding the quest of a Natty championship. Yeah.

At least I got that Ohio state at their name after ours tonight's night, I might start drinking in the commercial break. God, I mean, this game might be over in the first quarter. Should I literally like as part of the role, part of the role on Instagram, not everything. It's not the Truman show, man. I can live my damn life by myself. Talk about it. The next day. Content.

Why do I need to have content is king. First of all, you know, let's go live on Instagram, Cooper will be, Cooper will film you. You do a live Q and a 14 year old drunk Q and a at halftime. Can we start drinking now? I need to get the Wolf off my back. So let me get some of that bourbon.

It's fine. It's definitely five o'clock where the Australian open is, man. This is terrible. Live halftime, Q and a rich eyes and Instagram, by the way. What if the NFL stopped the game for 12 minutes? So, so the most important player can get some sort of treatment like sinner got last night, open.

Yeah. He's, he, he's, he's wilting in the heat. The other guy isn't let's call time out.

I'm going to leave the court for 10, 12 minutes and I'll come back and I'll win. Could you imagine like Jalen hurts, he goes down with his knee, like no or, or golf golf on Saturday night when Teddy two gloves came in the game, by the way. And the lion scored a touchdown on that Jamo Williams, right? That was a great play.

We should have started Teddy in the second half. Stop it. Stop it.

It's me on IG Live tonight. That's you. Let's go. Come on. No. Let's start drinking now.

I might bring that energy though. Come on. Nice. Actor, Michael Rosenbaum. He knows some of the most talented people in the business, and now he's getting the inside story. Let's get inside of Heather Graham. I can't look at like boogie nights and think that you are on your own. Johnny Knoxville. You think you're going to do another Jackass movie? What do your kids want?

Dad's not going to do that. You got to be careful how you choose your heroes. Hear from some of the most fascinating people in pop culture today. Danny Trejo. You're a legend. Do you know you're a legend? You can't be a legend having this much fun. The Inside of You podcast, follow and listen on your favorite platform.
