Learn more at AmericanExpress.com slash Amex Business. Live from the Rich Eisen Show Studio in Los Angeles. Why wasn't Jacoby Bressett playing into the fourth quarter?
He would have guaranteed a loss. The Patriots go from 1 to 4. The draft? Gross. Earlier on the show, host of the Greenlight podcast, Chris Long. Still to come, comedian Gabriel Iglesias, plus your phone calls, latest news, and more. And now, it's Rich Eisen. Yeah, it is. Welcome to our number two of this wild edition of the Rich Eisen Show, live on the Roku Sports Channel, live on the Infinity Sports Network, Terrestrial Radio Coast to Coast, Sirius XM Channel 158, those listening in on Odyssey, streaming on Odyssey or Odyssey.com.
Guess what? Our studio lights weren't working very much today, and we were spit and polishing enough to get enough light on the subject matter. And the subject matter to kick off our number two is kind enough to still come in and talk with us. Ladies and gentlemen, still making his appointed round, despite not being as well lit as we normally would like our guest. One of the best comedians on television and around the country. Netflix's Gabriel Iglesias, Legend of Fluffy is available today for streaming exclusively on Netflix, which you can see on the Roku portal.
Ladies and gentlemen, Gabriel Iglesias. Good to see you. Thanks for coming in. Hey, man. Oh, dude, I got a lot of friends that usually they don't pay their bills, so their lights are always open windows or go outside.
It's cool. That's now two suggestions you've made to try and troubleshoot this thing. Why don't you lift the shades?
Why didn't we think of that? Oh, no, not sure. They haven't been up for so long.
I kind of forget that they go up. You forget that they move, right? Yeah.
Like natural light would be helpful. Yes. So would be paying the bill. Yeah. Well, that's it. That's a U.P. No, no, no.
Why? But let me just offer a little pushback on that troubleshoot. Like everything else around here is working. Yeah. Like everything else is where it's just the lights aren't going on. You know, it's more intimate. It's kind of more like a like like all right. We're down and down and dirty here. What's going on? Yes, we are.
It is a romantic lighting on you right now, for sure. And then in that regard as well. You know, the show must go on like the show must go on. And I've had situations where the power actually went completely out in a building. I had a show in Amsterdam a few years ago where there was somebody tripped one of the breakers in the back. And all the power in the building went out. But I still had audio. So I actually I actually grabbed my phone, turn on the flashlight and did like a like I was telling ghost stories. I held up the phone under my chin with the light and the crowd was totally cool. And I did that for about 10 minutes and then the power came back on and they were almost disappointed.
Like they wanted to see the whole set that way because they knew they were watching something very different. I would think that somebody would have shined a red light on you. Oh, yeah. There's a few blocks away from there. Good enough. Good enough. It's a different show. That's a whole different type of entertainment.
Very much respected there. But this is cool to be back. I appreciate the invite, even though it's more of an intimate setting. Hanging out with TJ last night, that was pretty cool.
I heard about that. It was like an accidental awesomeness. We're just sitting there and casually talking and just hitting off talking about wrestling. And next thing you know, he's like, hey, you want to come by to do the podcast? I go, sure, I'd love to.
You know, and next thing you know, he looks at his phone. He goes, we're going to see you tomorrow. I go, what are you talking about? You're going to be on the show. I'm like, I already agreed to be on the show.
I'm like, wow, my publicist is good. It's one of our favorites here. Yeah.
So by the way, awesome shirt. He's wearing the nation of domination. I don't know if you know that the nation of domination.
That group has not won. That team hasn't won since the 90s, kind of like the Cowboys. Oh, come on. He is very much infatuated with the 90s. And I hope this is the year we can, you know, I thought we was cool, baby.
We're totally cool. A little heel turn right there for you like that. Like bash at the beach in ninety six. Oh my God.
Last night. Yeah. So you're a diehard wrestling fan. I love wrestling. I was painful watching Hulk Hogan get booed last night. I'm like, wow. From yeah, from great to hate. That was just that was that was ugly.
That was ugly. But I mean, at the same time, WWE should have known better. It's like, you know, that that Hulk Hogan's been out there on this political train, trying to, you know, sell his beer and trying to, you know, be on the Trump train. And so, you know, you take somebody like that and you put him in a blue state in L.A. You know, what else is going to happen? That might be a reaction.
That might that might be the reaction. Well, you also if, you know, as well, last night, The Rock was there and Cena was there. It was as good as a mania for me, because every single match was a main event right from the get. The Rock opened the show and like you usually don't get get The Rock until the end because, you know, the network usually wants to keep you hooked so that you stay tuned.
But they open strong and they close strong. So, I mean, everything about it was was incredible. He was the first boss last night, is what you're saying. He wasn't the final.
He was the first boss. And but that's what you get when you're in L.A. too, man. Like there this is and that and that that arena last night, too, I have yet to be go to into a dome. You know, it was my first time in that arena and it's amazing. Probably the most intimate arena that I've been in just based on size. It does go up. So it is higher than most. Yes.
But everything is really close. So it felt like any seat in there is going to be a good seat. So what was your favorite moment of Monday night? Oh, wow.
Where do I start? Sitting next to T.J. Jefferson and having to deal with him jumping into your shot. You know what? And it was a who's who. I was surrounded by all kinds of people. Every time I turn, I'm like we were sitting right behind The Rock's mom, who, by the way, is pretty awesome. She is so involved in the matches and she she makes her comments, which is really cool because I remember. Yeah. Because I remember like my mom coming up to comedy shows and people thought that, you know, my mom was always on board with what I was saying or doing.
Yes. And so she disagrees with some of the stuff, too. She turned around a couple of times.
I don't like this. And I'm like, oh, that's some heat from the mom behind me of Vanessa Hutchins. Hutchins and I can't say her name right. I'm a mess it up. Yeah.
And Vanessa Hutchins. Yes. Thank you.
I was saying it wrong. More and more 90s conversation here, I think. Right. Is that is that the Vanessa we're talking about? No, I don't know. She's she's more 2000.
OK. Yeah, she's she's a lot more thousands. Yeah. All right. Very good. It was awesome. And then, you know, I was looking forward to the main event, which was CM Punk versus Seth Rollins and CM Punk won. So I was like, yeah.
You know, I wasn't sure that was going to happen, but it did. Well, we do have to get you on no contest wrestling with TJ and we already made those plans last night. CM Punk was the first ever guest.
He kicked that podcast off as only CM Punk can. And I'm glad that you guys were hanging out. My goal is to beat his numbers or come close.
I think we can do it with you. Well, I mean, he said I'm pretty high. It set the bar pretty high coming out the gate. He did. But that's CM Punk.
He wasn't with WWE yet. Right. It was back. Yeah. We just we've only started.
We've had 12 episodes. Yeah. Was he already that he already make the jump back? Yeah. This was this was in October, September, October.
Yeah. He made it back. Gabriel Glace is here on the Rich Eisen Show. Walk me through magic, Mike.
How did you get him? Oh, God. OK, we're going to go there. First of all, a lot of people don't believe the fact that I was in Magic Mike. I was the only one who didn't take his clothes off. So you're welcome. I tell everybody it was called Magic Mike, not Tragic Mike.
So that's why we're in black. Being in Magic Mike was really close. My first actual film. Yeah.
Like real film that I was in. It was Steven Soderbergh and Channing Tatum reached out. He's a fan. And he reached out and asked me to be. Yes.
Uh huh. Wanted me to be in the movie. So there was no audition for it. He's like, you know, I'd like you to be in the movie. And I'm like, I'd like to be in the movie.
And so next thing you know, I'm a deejay. So you were aware of what the movie was about. I knew what it was about. But I also knew the people that I was going to be working with.
Yes. Matthew McConaughey, Steven Soderbergh, directing Channing Tatum. And then also Kevin Nash, who is a former WWE superstar.
So I think I was geeking out more over Kevin Nash than anything else in the whole set. What about meeting McConaughey for the first time? McConaughey is very eerie because he's so he's so methodical. He's eerie, dude. He's very methodical with what he does. He's an incredible actor for good reason.
Yes. He commits so hard to the character that he's playing that even when they say cut, he's still that person. And so we'd sit there and we do a scene and then you go, OK, cut. And then he'd look at me and go, so Tobias, because Tobias was the name of my character in the movie.
Right. So Tobias. And I'm thinking, it's cool.
He doesn't know that I have a real name, but that's cool. So Tobias, how are we looking for tonight? I go, what do you mean? How's the sales?
I go, I don't know how the sales are going tonight, but I'm sure it's going to be good. How's the equipment sounding? You know, I'm not really I mean, I'm there, but I'm not really touching the equipment because I'm playing a deejay. But, you know, I'm playing a deejay.
I don't know how to deejay, but I'm back there doing the whole, you know, and I go, well, I'm not sure. And I'm like, oh, my God, he's he's not he's still in character. And he's asking me questions about the character in the movie.
I'm like, man, this isn't where craft services. And he walks up to me and he goes, did you get the cables fixed? I'm like, I am not sitting with this person doing that to me throughout the film where he would not break character. And finally, the last day, the last day of the shoot, he ordered a bunch of rallies, which is like, yeah, rallies or checkers. We were we were we had just wrapped and everybody on the set was the actors anyway. They all had to keep a really strict diet so they couldn't eat any carbs. They were always just eating like vegetables and a little bit of this, a little bit of that, because they needed to be ripped for the scenes. And so me, I'm like, I'm not getting naked, so I ate whatever I wanted.
So he orders his fast food and then they're all sitting at the bar and they're just scarfing because they're so excited to be eating food again. And then McConaughey looks at me and he goes, hey, Gabriel. And I go, Gabriel, you don't mean Tobias? And he walks over and he's like, hey, baby, let me just tell you, I want to make sure that I do the scenes well and I just I overcommit. And that's all I was doing.
And I was having a little fun with you. So I'm like, all right, dude, I started to think you were like a little hmm. And so, yeah, finally, on the last day, he let me in that I'm like, OK, how his process is. So I got to give it to him because any time he takes on a role, he commits.
And that's why he's an incredible actor. Well, I mean, it so it did take you like a minute the first time he did it. It's scary, though, that he's still asking you questions in character, assuming you're going to answer as your character. And in hindsight, I probably should have gone along with it. And part of me was like, is he messing with me or does he not know? Does he really?
You know, I'm like a Mexican, but I'm like, hey, man, come on, I'm not messing with no cables. So, yeah, he was cool. He was a lot of fun.
Steven Soderbergh, definitely a lot of fun. And chatting was just really cool. I love it.
Super nice. And they asked me to be part of both of them. Yeah. And then there was a third.
But then he went overseas and I don't think they wanted to fly anybody out. So I was fine with that. Got it.
Got it. Before I let you go, let's talk about your relationship, by the way. Thank you for coming. A and B, you brought donuts as well, like that in the middle of everything going on with the lights. I got knocked at the door and was like, it's the electrician. Donut was a brown guy camera. He's here to fix stuff. No, we couldn't see who it was through the door.
Nobody ever knocks on the door behind the door. And so we've got your relationship with the Randy's Donuts, which is an L.A. and Los Angeles icon here in town. You've got a takeover going on. I love the fact that Netflix really thought outside the box with the promotion of this special. Yeah. They put my face and they wrapped Randy's Donuts, the gigantic donut on top of the building.
They put a wrap that has my face on it to promote the special. Right. And so Randy's Donuts created the fluffy donut, which, of course, chocolate cake.
That's that's all that's been me. That's a chocolate cake donut. And amazing. Hold on. That's delicious, dude. You're about to make a noise.
You're about to make a sound. Just look at that. Oh, yeah.
God came back in the day home. Just take it to the face, bro. Just take it straight to the head.
There is no shame. The last comedian who told me that was Bert Kreischer. That's right. To the face. To the face. It was a bottle of vodka. But you're just drunk after that one. This won't do. You're going to be sick after that. You'll be functional after this.
You might have diabetes after this. Oh, my God. And by the way, Bert's incredible. Since you bring up Bert real quick, he's the real deal.
I've hung out with him. And yeah, there were no cameras on. Trust me, there was no reason to do what he did. And we did it. And it was a good time.
He was doing Magic Bert before Magic Mike. Oh, yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah. He's taking his shirt off.
He doesn't care. Oh, my God. That's incredible. Yeah. So Netflix, they got Randy's Donuts to wrap the giant donut with my face on it. And it'll be there for a week. Yeah, till January 11th. And I'm going to be there today giving out free donuts. Awesome.
Yeah. It's a day of giving. It's a day of giving. And everybody should see Gabriel up upcoming show dates coming up at the end of this month in Oklahoma. And then around the great state of California in February. I go anywhere. I go everywhere.
So, yeah, it's pretty, pretty cool, bro. You're one of the best. I really appreciate you coming in here.
Certainly today. Legend of Fluffy on Netflix available on Roku right now. You can check it out and please do the no contest wrestling as well. Oh, we're going to have a good time.
Yeah, we're going to have a definitely get that set up. I love it. Fantastic.
That's a Gabriel Iglesias, by the way. Before I let everyone go here to our first break in the second hour, whether you're ordering wings for the game, whipping up a seven layer dip or ordering pizza. There's something about football that makes you want to eat.
Speaking of McConaughey, right. Great commercial. And this season, Uber Eats has the best deals on game day food, no matter what you're craving from two for one pizza to buy one, get one wings. Uber Eats will be dropping new deals each week, all season long. Uber Eats, the official on demand delivery partner of the NFL. Order now for game day. Terms and conditions apply.
See app for details. Who do you that? That's right. Who do you got for the Super Bowl? Who do I got for the Super Bowl? I'm thinking it's going to be Ravens Lions. I, prior to the season, said Chiefs Lions. So I'm going to stick with it and that the Chiefs are going to three P. OK, what do you think? I'm hoping that the Lions take it.
I think it would be a beautiful story. I think that they've been working their asses off. And I'm I think that the Chiefs have barely been winning every game. They've barely been winning.
But every, you know, not to use this phrase because of what's happening around here. They always find the switch. They always flip it. Yeah. He's like Brady, right? It's like, ah, all right.
Just he knows how to win. Correct. That's why I'm I just can't go against it. And at some point, I imagine in our lifetimes, if we're so fortunate, there will be a three P in the NFL. And this is there.
They won 15 games. You know, that's why I'm thinking that I can't get off of what I said earlier. I said before the season, Chiefs over line. So I'm going to stick with it. OK, certainly since it makes me look very smart that they're both the one seeds right now. I'm just saying that. All right. It's all about me around.
You got Cowboys in. Oh, God. You can't quit. You're like in an abused relationship. It's going to get better. People don't understand.
People stay in loveless marriages for decades. You know what I mean? That's for the kids. Your kids.
The kids, you know, you jump in front of their screen time on. I had to get myself out there, man. You know, you're not alone. My buddy Matt's also a Cowboys fan.
So we give him a hard time to answer his question. All right. Super Bowl. Let's say I'm kind of with you, Rich, until somebody takes him. I got to say, Chiefs are going. Chiefs lines. I think that would be fun to repeat. And what are you sticking with? You're sticking with us.
I really want the bells to add. And I'm going for Buffalo and Detroit. Oh, man, I want somebody new. I want a new winner. That would definitely be awesome is to have somebody new in there. But yeah, you know, that made them also that week in New Orleans would be so fun with those two fan bases. Yeah. But bills and lines, if they're there, that somebody would go home happy and someone would go home. Here we go again. Yeah.
They'd end up on Bourbon Street at the end of the night. Gabriel Iglesias here on the Rich Eisen Show at Fluffy Guy to follow all of his exploits, including Legend of Fluffy on Netflix. Available right now on Roku. Great to see you, sir. Thank you again. Thanks for coming in. Really appreciate it. Back here on the Rich Eisen Show.

I approve. Well, he comes and looks. He goes, Jesus is worse. It's great. He goes, listen, you're not scheduled to work tonight, but we're over here at the top notch drive through.
And you think Wooderson might want to pick up on the redheaded intellectual. And I'm like, sure. And he goes, want to shoot it? I'm like, sure. So I go get in the car, shoot my first scene ever in a film of your career, of my career. And I had been listened to a lot of 70s rock and roll at that time.
There was a certain live recording of a Jim Morrison concert in Amsterdam or somewhere where he barks the crowd. All right. All right. All right. All right.
Four times real aggressively, though. I'm not thinking about that. But this comes back. So I'm in the car and I'm like, who's my man? I'm nervous. I'm about to hear, who's my man?
Who's Wooderson? And I said, well, I'm about my car. And I go, well, I'm in my 70s Chevelle. There's one. I said, I'm about getting high. I said, well, Slater's riding shotgun.
You know, he's got a Dubois rolled up. There's two. I said, and I'm about rock and roll. I said, well, I got Nuge and Stranglehold in the eight track, man. There's three.
And I hear action and I look up and in my mind I go and I'm about checks. I got three out of four. Let's go get the fourth. All right. All right. All right.
Does it ever set on screen? One of my favorite moments in the history of this show is when Matthew McConaughey came in and told us that story. There goes Gabriel Iglesias, everybody. There he goes. Call clickgrange.com or just stop by. Fun stuff right there with Gabriel Iglesias. Before we get to overreaction, Monday on a Tuesday, let's get Rich in Maryland up here on the Rich Eyes and Show. What's up, Rich? Oh, how's it going, guys?
What's going on? I am stoked that the commanders are rolling into the playoffs. I have to give Dan Quintus credit. Four and 13 to 12 and five might be our coach of the year.
We'll see how the voters go. But I think they have a good shot to beat the Tampa Bay box. I think we owe Tampa Bay for the butt kicking they gave us week one.
And if they can beat Tampa Bay, I think that they can take on anybody. Listen, I don't blame you for your confidence in the commanders. Just a quick question, Rich. Do you have us on speakerphone right now, Rich? Are we being speakerphoned right now?
Yep, I got off. Sorry about that. No, no, it's OK. It's OK. Speakerphone is fine when people call in because you're just going to put on speakerphone so you can walk around and do your thing, right? And you don't expect maybe when we pop on. It's just that I why do I have a problem with speakerphone, Chris?
Because I feel like. Unclear. It's one of your many weird things that you get offended by that you shouldn't. Actually, I get offended when there's a when we used to have phone people phoning in that they're calling in on. The guests would call in on speakerphone because PR people want to listen in on it to make. And like, what were they going to do? Just jump in the middle to say that's an unfair question. Also, if you're if you're in like a if you're like a conference room echo and it would it wouldn't really sound good either.
We were more quality. There's no press people here. Just me and my pet turtle. Oh, OK. What's your what's your pet turtle, Rich? Her name is Lucy. I've had her for about eight years. She's also excited about the commanders.
I have yet. I have to get her one of those Washington commander sweatshirts that she can wear. OK, I'm sure that they they make them for turtles as well. Thank you.
Rich in Maryland, everybody. Did you say Yertle? I said Myrtle. Oh, I thought you said because Yertle the turtle is a very famous Dr. Seuss book that I read to the kids many, many times.
OK, listen. Also, he might want to change the turtle's name to Jane. You know, I thought it was going to be named after a great commander. You know, a slow, a slow player. Yeah, definitely not Art Monk. Definitely not Darryl Green. Odd after Darryl Green.
It's like calling the skinny guy a big guy or something. Regan's the turtle. Regan's the turtle.
He wasn't slow either, but I understand he should have had a pig as a pet. Let me see if I have any interesting factoid around here. Bucks and commanders as Rich and Lucy.
Let's include her. That's a Sunday night. That's a Sunday night game. Tampa beat the commanders. Thirty seven to 20 in week one.
Week one. That's that might as well be last year because it was Jayden Daniels's first career start. Yeah, it was the largest loss of the season for Washington. They did not lose to anybody by 17 points. The rest of the year. The last time Washington met Tampa in the playoffs in Tampa.
The 2005 wild card last playoff win in Washington's history. Who are the quarterbacks in that game? If I'm not mistaken, I think Joe Gibbs had come back, right? Was Gibbs back? You can look it up.
You've got the internet in front of you because that's still working around here. Washington's lost its last five playoff games since then. Chris Sims was the Bucks QB. Right.
And who was Washington's? So that was the twenty five season. So that would have been 2005. That would have been actually today in 2006. January 7th anniversary anniversary of it.
Is it? Yeah. Clinton, Portis and Sean Taylor had a defensive return touchdown. He was so good. Washington won seventeen ten for Joe Gibbs.
Right. Was Joe Gibbs the coach that day? I think he was. And who was the quarterback? For the commander, Mark Brunel.
Mark was a robust seven for fifteen for forty one yards. Wow. Not a lot of offense in this game. Let me see what I've got right here. Was it to Joe Gibbs, the head coach?
Great question. I was looking up the box score. Yeah, Joe Gibbs went ten and six that year.
Yep. That was the last time they won. This is the sixth straight playoff appearance in which the Bucks first playoff opponent is from the NFC East. How about that for an interesting fact. They lost next week to Seattle. Oh, let's hope Marshawn Lattimore is healthy because Mike Evans and Marshawn Lattimore do not like each other.
They do not like each other. That was a fact. Right.
And how about this one? Rookie starting quarterbacks on the road in the playoffs have lost their last seven games. The last rookie quarterback to win a road playoff game was Russell Wilson.
Where? At Washington, beating another rookie, Robert Griffin, the third in two thousand and twelve. How about them apples? An interesting bunch of factoids for that Sunday night football game. I honestly thought that the Sunday night football game would have been Ravens and Steelers. I thought so.
But they gave they gave that a gem to Amazon Prime. And we'll talk about that game later on. But it is an overreaction Monday on a Tuesday since it is Tuesday. Hit it. That was terrible. That was crap.
That was garbage. This place sucks. Overreaction Mondays on Monday on a Tuesday. All right, Christopher, I didn't step on it.
I'm very proud of myself. What's going on over there, Chris? What's up, everybody?
What do you got? You all look great. Happy Tuesday. Good to see you. Enjoy that doughnut. Before you start, I'm I'm I'm pleased to say everyone should check out the overreaction Monday podcast.
Right there on our YouTube channel or wherever you get your podcasts to listen to. Also, all these Lions fans. Did you watch the game?
It was ten to nine until two minutes to go in the third quarter. What are you talking about? Leave me alone.
What do you mean? Again, I this is the only time I'm going to equate me and this other person. I know how Joe Buck feels. You know, Joe Buck says that he everyone says that he hates their team.
Right. That's how everyone feels about me every week on overreaction. You do kind of hate. Well, if you hate all on all 32 teams, people can claim it. What are we doing? I mean, it's true.
I hate my own team right now. That's what I'm saying. What's the first order of business, guys? I'm thinking about how week 18 shook out and how it leads us into super wild card weekend. Super, super. It was a mistake for the Rams to rest their starters and settle for the four seed. Mm hmm.
Let me say this, if you know. OK, because the last time the Rams played, let's just say Minnesota. Right. They got guys back. Remember, Cup came back and it was a big game. This is one of the storylines for the week to that Thursday night football game when the Vikings came into their house. Let's not forget. Let's not forget if they lost that Cooper Cup might have been traded away. Yeah, that was a conversation that was had significantly. And it was a surprise that Puka Nakua was coming back from the knee injury that he suffered and then worsened in the first in the preseason and then worsened apparently in that first opener loss against the Lions. And he comes back and don't forget in the interim, the Lions, the Rams went one and four to start. So there are different team when these guys are not out there.
And if you want to play some three dimensional chess. Let's just say everything goes chalk. Right. That happens. It happens a lot.
It does that things go chalk. OK, the three seed goes to visit Philadelphia and the Rams would love to have somebody knock Philadelphia off for them. I think there are far more confident against the team they've already beaten this weekend or team that they took into overtime in the first game and also gave quite a run to in last year's wildcard round of the playoffs.
I think they'd rather be indoors. I think they'd rather not see Saquon Barkley and them finishing as the four seed. Unless lower seeds win. Then the Eagles are out anyway. Right.
See what I'm saying? The only thing that it would cost them here to be the four seed is if lower seeds win and Tampa moves on. Now they forfeit the opportunity to host a second playoff game similar to what happened for the Lions last year. If you remember, the seven seeded Packers knocked off the NFC East champ in Dallas and Detroit wound up hosting a second playoff game that everybody thought they lost the opportunity to do because of the Dan Skipper report gate. Don't forget that was last year. So if the Packers eliminate the NFC East champion again as the seven seed, then guess what?
The Rams would have to go to Tampa rather than have Tampa come to them because they lost the opportunity to be the three seed. If I worked it all out for you, for me to say this is an overreaction. All right. There you go. That's what I was waiting. How about this one, guys?
You just mentioned you just mentioned chalk. It does happen. Yes, it does. Championship weekend ends up being one versus two both side. Yeah, I don't think that's going to happen. Championship weekend will not be both number ones against both number two. I don't think that's an overreaction at all. I think the Ravens can knock off the Bills for a second time this year and do it in western New York as opposed to having to do it in the state of Maryland. I think a lower seed in the in the NFC can make this party.
I don't think this is an overreaction at all. Obviously, one versus two going chalk. You know, with all due respect to the other teams, I think CBS and Fox would sign for that right now. Philadelphia in Detroit, Buffalo in Kansas City, I think.
CBS and Fox would say, where's the dotted line? Do you think those are the four best teams heading into the playoffs? I cannot sit here and say that. I cannot sit here and say that. I don't think people are talking about the Ravens enough. How does that sound? It's a little bit of a breadcrumb based on the conversation that I know we're going to have an hour. Number three, since we started this show saying, which is the team that we're not talking about enough going into the playoffs. So I'll say this is not an overreaction.
What else you got, guys? Would you agree that sometimes if you've been doing something or been somewhere for a long time, that a change of scenery is a good thing? Absolutely. You would absolutely agree. Even if you don't think at the time it's a good thing.
Exactly. It winds up being a good thing. I told you I got a fortune cookie once that told me that and then I moved to L.A. That's what I'm saying. We all ended up here for a reason.
I had no idea I was moving to L.A. until ESPN handed me a cardboard box. Look at us now. Look at us. Look at us now. If the Steelers lose this weekend, a team should trade for Mike Tomlin.
OK. All right. And you think Tomlin would agree to such a trade? You think the Steelers would agree to such a trade? I think they should.
I think it would benefit everyone involved to have a change of scenery here. A team should trade for Mike Tomlin. You know how I feel about Mike Tomlin. So sure, a team should do that. But I think the last time where Tomlin was alleged to be interested in leaving Pittsburgh led to one of the greatest drops. Never say never, but never. That was USC, if you remember.
That was a college, though. I just think it's time for Pittsburgh to take a good, hard look and figure out where they are as a franchise. This is who they are. They're going to get blown out by the Ravens this weekend.
I think we can all agree on that. And then what? Then what? You're just a team that makes the playoffs and has no chance of winning a Super Bowl.
Let's put a pin in this. Can I say this? Just based upon, you know, growing up there and everyone I'm friends with is Steeler fans. They want to change the scenery.
Being home over Christmas and having to listen to local media and read stuff, I kind of feel for him like it doesn't seem like he's appreciated. The Steeler fans don't appreciate the fact that they don't lose. They just think like they should win every Super Bowl. So they don't appreciate the fact that they've got a great leader and a man who leads your team to victory. So maybe it is time for the players. The players aren't the ones complaining about it. Why wouldn't Woody Johnson call the Steelers and be like, what's what's it going to take? What's the price? It's so loud, Rich.
Like like I said, reading the stuff and listening to local news when I was back home. It's just Chicago Bears like make an offer. Now you're talking. I don't think the Jets would be something that Tomlin would listen to. But Tomlin listening to a team that would say, come to Chicago and coach Caleb Williams. I mean, that that might be something would even give him pause. If he hears from somebody to say, guess who called today?
Mike and also Rich and Chris. It might be nice for Coach Tomlin to actually coach a top notch wide receiver who, you know, isn't necessarily a problem on and off the field. He doesn't have to say to you have to do the routine things routinely or put the Batmobile away. Like a guy you're not worried about fighting in the middle of a play on fourth and short. Like, you know, a guy who's not going to do some of the things that wide receivers from Pittsburgh, very talented, as we know, have done.
Maybe he needs just to get a wide receiver who is, you know, who plays video games, man. And just say, OK, so it should be an option. Both East Coast people are saying this is not an overreaction. Interesting. Stay by your phone, man. I may need that.
You finally admitted it, too, which is awesome. Thanks, coach. Saying staying in the AFC North. I want to look ahead to next year. This is hot seat season and I want to talk about who might be on the hot seat for next year. Number one coach looking ahead to next year on the hot seat, Zach Taylor in Cincinnati.
What are you talking about, man? Well, he just fired the D.C., so that's the first sign that you know your seat is getting warm. I mean, nine and eight might be eleven and six and they're in it if they had a few defensive stops earlier this year. I can't keep wasting these Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase here. Again, you keep talking about Zach Taylor on the hot seat. I need to know how many years are left on his contract, because the last owner in the history of the NFL that is going to pay a coach to not coach for him is Mike Brown.
I present to you the number of years Marvin Lewis stuck around in Cincinnati longer than Cincinnati Bengals fans wanted him to stick around or thought he should stick around. Move on. Overreaction.
What else you got? Zach Taylor has an extension through twenty six. Wow. So, you know. So, yeah, he he's not he's not paying a coach a single dime to sit at home.
Mike Brown. That is true. What else, Chris? Wow. All right. I'm forty eight hours removed from the debacle Sunday in Foxborough.
Is that what it's called? It's going down the snow game, the debacle. And I've thought it all out.
OK, I've really analyzed everything. This Patriots season was actually a massive success. Well, because if you got rid of the coach that you didn't want to have and then the first the fourth overall and you know that you got the kid, you got the kid right.
Sure. Outside of all of that, where you had to sit through all those losses and you had to wonder whether this was the right guy or not. And then the Kraft family had to turn into what nobody ever thought they would be, which is a one and done. Front office and ownership group. I would not say it's a massive success.
It was a pretty miserable four months. But where we are on January 7, who you get fourth overall, I feel like it was a massive. Let's see who the GM is. Let's see who the new coach is. Let's see who you get fourth overall. If it's Travis Hunter, if it's the guy from Arizona, fourth overall, he might drop. You should stop the Travis Hunter talk.
If it's Will Campbell, then a huge success. The fact that you earlier in such a reversal of magnanimity. That's two days in Rome use that word. You say you'd like to see the Buffalo Bills make the Super Bowl after a you know, they blew an opportunity for you to try and actually win a game against your Patriots this weekend. And two, they're in your division. I don't know who you are anymore.
This is an overreaction. What else you got? You got one more? I do have one more. I was told we had to move on, but I do have one more quickly. We need one more. Oh, man.
All right. We'll get one. Rich. The roster is far too talented.
And this guy has shown way too much that he still actually has it inside of him. The Jets need to run it back with Aaron Rodgers. One more.
All right. You know what they should do? They should do with Rex Ryan.
They should go ahead and dip that their toe in that water. He's the right man for the job. I was going to end the country club culture and hold number eight accountable. Enough. Enough. Enough. OK. This is this week to the fire. Rich, for saying that this is troll on troll violence is what it is. That's what it is. That was for you. You guys stand 10 toes down on that.
Rich stand in home business summer. All right. Well done.
Great overreaction. Monday on a Tuesday. Tuesday.
Greatly appreciate all that. Let's take a break here on the Roku Sports Channel for those listening on the Infinity Sports Network. Now, time for a sports update with Rich Ackerman. Rich. Bravo TV star Lala Kent holds nothing back on the Give Them Lala podcast.
No, I have a very short views. Get to know the TV personality. I don't need to watch the show because I get the real life version from relationships and motherhood. Let me tell you something about breastfeeding to business and beyond.
You are scared of failure, so it prevents you from trying. This is where we implement a big set of ovaries and then we obsess. Follow and listen on your favorite platform.
Back here on the Rich Eisen Show on the Roku Sports Channel. Again, we appreciate everybody sticking with us today. You know, we're working on our our lights. Does it? It does look different, right? Doesn't it look a little different?
Well, the backlight is just the only thing. Yeah, that's cool. It's all right.
I never thought the candle would come in handy. That's why I keep it here. You stay ready so you ain't got to get ready. Got it. Is the Colonel you keep saying you look like? Colonel Kurtz.
I watched a snail crawl along the edge. Straight. Yeah. Yeah. Good.
Brando. Yeah. Have you never seen Apocalypse? No, I've never seen that.
Why do you shake your head at me like it's like I'm a weirdo for asking that question of you. It truly is one of Francis Ford Coppola's greatest film. Totally get it. And the fact that he made it. And it's being said the way that I said it. And he also made the Godfather and Godfather part two. The greatest, maybe the greatest sequel ever.
Is an achievement. And the cast is unbelievable. I'm not saying it's not an achievement and it's not a great movie.
In twenty twenty five now, I just don't see how that movie would interest me one bit. You know, movie I saw yesterday because Taylor was watching it. And she's watching it because Wicked, you know, is as popular as ever. She watched The Wizard of Oz for the first time.
No. Well, she said she had seen it before. But maybe we showed it to her when she was like five, six or whatever. But this is the first time she could really take it in. Correct.
Correct. And I stopped everything that I could do because, again, my dad was a big Judy Garland fan. And, you know, Wizard of Oz and Over the Rainbow is significant in my world. Growing up, I just stopped everything. I'm going to sit with my 11 year old daughter.
I'm going to watch The Wizard of Oz, as you should have. And it held up. It's like a neat kid story. It really held up. Yeah, I watched it about a month ago.
It was on and I watched about an hour of it. I was like the feeling you had as a kid watching that movie. It just it stays correct for what are you laughing about? A 90 year old movie does not hold up. It does. It does hold up your your resistance to seeing anything that came out before you were born is kind of weird.
It's not a resistance. Not only does a 90 year old movie does not hold up. Not only does Chris hate your team, he hates your movies.
Apparently. Like, what do you like? That might be easier with things that Chris likes. Anything that's on now. It's a short list. It's a very short list. It does.
No, it does. It does hold up in terms of like a kid being sitting there and and it's like a children's story. So the experience holds up.
It's just that feeling. Like when you watch that movie doesn't hold up. It was ahead of its time. Dude, like like, you know, like when Glinda comes in in the bubble.
Could you imagine what it must have been like in the late thirties? People sitting there and it was color. Yeah. Half the movie black and white. Stop, stop, stop.
Because we're just feeding into his own his issues. It's a his. That's a that's a that's a CP. Chris. I know those little guys had a great time at the Culver Hotel.
That's the only thing I know about that movie. This guy. Very good. Old gen stats. OK, just I'm an old man. Does Wizard of Oz hold up? Of course it does. I say it holds up. You're going to find out you're the moron. Not me. It's a new segment called You're the Moron. The Jerk Store called.

One of our favorites. How have you been, Terzo? Doing well, guys. Doing well. I like the mood lighting today. Thank you, sir.
Appreciate it. Rich, kind of at this point, Brockman, you sound like the old man. And you should be like really embracing like these older movies, given the fact that you're saying get off my yard. I'm literally the youngest person in this room. That's not true.
That's not true. TJ won't say how old he is. We're going to have to carbon date that guy.
I'm younger than you and older than him. OK, good enough. So, Rich, I do I did agree with what Brockman had to say about the charges. I don't think enough people are talking about them. Right. But the other team that kind of came to mind was the Denver Broncos. And I think they very well could go up into Buffalo and take Buffalo out, given the strength at defense and kind of showing how dynamic Bo Nix is. If that game is close going into the fourth quarter, I could very well see Denver pulling that out. And then I can see them traveling somewhere else to win on the road again. Let me say this to you when I go to Kansas City.
Listen, man. Nobody's happier for Broncos fans. And for me, no one's happier for Sean Payton more than me.
I mean, well, maybe Jay Glazer who's known him for a lot longer. I love that guy. I love him. I've loved getting to know him. I've loved hanging with him. I mean, in this business, people, when you hang out and you get to know him and then, you know, you ride a mechanical bull at three in the morning with them, they're in the combine back in the day.
I mean, like these are honestly love them. Couldn't be happier that he's done what he I mean for him to dead cap Russell Wilson and then go draft Bo Nix and make the playoffs is truly remarkable. It is a very tough gig for a rookie quarterback to win his first playoff game. Obviously, it was saying rookie quarterback. It's redundant saying his first playoff game.
And also, for sure, it is tough to do it on the road. As I mentioned, the last one to do it was Russell Wilson in the 2012 season. That's the last guy to do it on the road for Bo Nix to go into Buffalo, New York, and one and done. These bills would be the most shocking result of Super Wild Card Weekend. Oh, really? End of story. The most shocking result for the rookie quarterback, seventh seeded, who definitely dismantled the Chiefs and some of their starters and the backups.
I'm not denigrating. You have to do what you have to do under your circumstances for them to go into Western New York, into that environment with that fan base and that quarterback playing at that level. For him to do that, for Sean Payton, for the Broncos to do it would be the most shocking result of the entire playoff weekend. And one of the most shocking results.
I'd have to think so as well. Thanks for the call, Terzo. I appreciate it. I'm sorry. I got to cut him off because we're coming up at the end of our radio hour, hour three coming up. The Bills have lost their last two divisional playoff games. I understand. This is a wild against who?
No, go ahead. Joe Burrows won. And Patrick Mahomes. Still, you're talking about the environment there. It's an environment where they lose at home in the playoffs. To somebody who has been there and done that. Like I said, doing it in the Pac-12 or doing it on the Iron Bowl.
It's totally different ball of wax, man. You don't think Josh Allen sitting at home thinking about trying to cap this thing off? I mean, honestly, it is a tough, tough assignment. Tougher, I'm sorry, Tampa, than what Jayden Daniels has to do. Jayden Daniels has already seen this team, too.
I understand it's week one, but he's been in the stadium. He can look around and go, I've been here. You go up into Highmark and it kind of has like a similar feel in Seattle.
Like you're in a different part of the world. And then the fans there. Now, the Broncos led the NFL in defensive sacks this season. That's the most of Broncos history. The Bills have allowed the fewest sacks in the NFL this season.
Just 14. And it's not just the protection up front. It's just Josh Allen. You can't get him. How many times do you just keep extending the play? So, the Bills take it away, too. Knicks spent a lot of time over the last six weeks giving it away. You know how I feel about Bo Nix?
I said in week one when he was getting boat raced in Seattle, there's lots to like about him. It would be the biggest upset of the weekend. And I think a lot of people are like, OK, so the Bills struggled at home against New England and then they struggled at, they'd lose at New England. They boat raced the Jets.
Who cares? Everyone just forgets. This is a team that went into Detroit and punked him.
Punked the gritty Lions in their house after losing that one in Los Angeles when they couldn't stop the Rams. I know why people are high on the Broncos or thinking that we're not talking about them enough. Just look out for the Buffalo Bills.
Don't overlook them. That's all I'm saying. But it would be amazing for Sean Payton to get back into the divisional playoff round and go to Kansas City with these Broncos and a rookie quarterback. I mean, he's already served notice that he's back in the NFL.
That's for sure. If they beat the Bills, they're going to the championship game. I know they're going to Arrowhead. That's the one place I only know they would be going if they beat the Bills. They have outplayed the Chiefs all in both games this year. That's true.
I understand that different circumstances in those games. An hour three coming up. Follow and listen on your favorite platform.
