Game time. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the No Contest Wrestling Podcast. Good to see you as it is always. I am the heel that you love. Hey O'Shea Jackson Jr. Hey yo, it's me. It's me. It's that t-double-o-j-i-double-g-two jigger.
TJ Jefferson, what up? Now, now we all know it's turkey week. Yeah. We appreciate you guys for spending your time with us as you do every Wednesday, which we greatly appreciate. No doubt. And we got you a little, a little Thanksgiving gift.
Right. Today we will, we got somebody big, don't we? You know, because here at No Contest, we just don't give them the okay-est wrestlers. We don't just say, oh, we're bringing you the they-I type guesser. You know, they pretty coolest.
No, no, no. We give you the biggest, the roughest, the toughest, the strongest, the best, the EST of wrestling. Yes.
Bianca Belair will be joining us today on the No Contest Wrestling Podcast. You might say she put the EST in guest. I think you can say it.
Yeah. So we got a great interview coming up for you guys. And like you like to say, who do we think we are? Who do we think we are? Like, look at us.
Look at us go, come on. But before we get into that, we have a major, major PLE coming up this Saturday in survivor series. And we also have some news about a, a new mid card title for the ladies. TJ about that. Yeah.
And my best William Regal voice though. And, and, you know, since we had Bianca, let's talk about this. This woman's war games match that we started talking about last week, but something happened. And one of the team members is now out.
Yes. So I am upset. My, my, my poor mother, she can't even watch because Jade Cargill has been taken out of actions, brutally attacked, brutally attacked, but laid out on the front of the car in a very peaceful manner. Well, I can see what happened. You know, she was standing on the side of the, on the dock, break it down. Somebody attacked her, pushed her backwards. She landed on the car, you know, she truck opposed.
Like she was Madonna. And, and, and, and now Jade, unfortunately she's out. Yes. And this is, this is bringing up a lot of questions, man, because I know you're not about to take the titles from us this way. I don't think that's even come on. We're like, they're talking about her going for a while.
You're talking about titles. I'm more excited. Who did this? Who was the dastardly human being that perpetrated this attack on Jade cargo?
I want to know, you want to know, we're going to find out. I tell you what, whoever did it trouble trouble bill said, trouble trouble, you know, there's a lot of speculation that Bailey has something to do with this now. I know because we love the role model around here, but we all know Bailey has been a little bit more aggressive ever since she got rid of the wacky inflatable arm, flailing to men. That was a long time ago. I know. I know.
I'm not saying nothing, Bailey, you know, California, like we've got to stick together. But then there's also, if those who follow on Twitter, I will not call it X. Those who are on Twitter know that Charlotte flare, she teased a return. She showed, I guess it was a diamond shattering or a block of ice turning into a diamond. I can't remember. It was a couple of days ago, but either way, she teased a return and a lot of people are speculating about that. That would be huge. You know, we, we miss Charlotte, like Charlotte, no matter what is a, a main staple in this entire women's revolution, she has been deeply missed.
I mean, for her to even get injured the way that she did in her last match and then keep going, Charlotte flare has always been a beast. And, and if it was her, like that raises a lot of questions story-wise. Yeah. I, I I'd like to think this though. I'd like to think that it was the, the members of the other team who perpetrated this account, this attack.
I'm Naya, Tiff, Candace, you know, Raquel, Liv. If it's Liv, I need a suspension. This is getting crazy. Let's get out of here.
You know, I'd like to think that, oh, I don't like the thing. I like to think anyone did it, but I, you know, I I'm hoping that it's not someone who did this for personal gain to get on the team because now you've got to wonder, right? If you took out Jade and hopes that you get on this team, are you really on the team? Are you playing for the other team?
I don't know O'Shea, but guess what? I'm gonna find out when at three o'clock, when I sit in front of my TV and turn peacock going on Roku channel and, and, and I'm able to find out who, who I don't think we're going to find out. No. Who did it though? I don't know.
It kind of seems like this might be something. Austin with the car. Well, yeah.
Look how long that took. And he did it for the rod. And it was Rakeshi.
Right. What if Rakeshi did it? What if Rakeshi took out Jay? I don't know. Why don't you say, why would Rakeshi do it? I don't know.
Why that would be the wildest twist. She was backstage and he backed it up into Jane and she fell in the car. I don't know. I'm sorry, young lady.
I didn't see you there. Look, it's wrestling. You can't, you can't rule anything out. Everyone's a suspect to me until I figure out who did this, by the way. I know we've got security cameras in the back, right?
Like where are they hiding? I know we got money around here. Come on.
Somebody, somebody show me something. Somebody got to pay for that though. Yeah. So it's you know, we wish Jade, you know, the best get well soon. We need to see more this dominance, this dominating run that her and Bianca been on Bianca has the most wins of any superstar this year.
And Jade is right there with her. I mean, it's so it's, it's, it's important. One thing that annoys me, speaking of those two is how everybody just is so eager for them to split up and fight each other. Why, why we got to put them against each other?
Black people can't have nothing to do. If there's one thing that I've learned, I don't, I don't necessarily want them to break up right away. Like why? No, I don't need that right now. There's enough talent to go around that I can, I can keep, we can keep those two together and not have them fight each other. Because by the way, when they do meet, it's going to be money.
You're going to be printing those little green pieces of paper and it's going to be Epic, but I don't know that we necessarily need it right now. Yeah. I mean, but that's the, it's the nature of the business. Every team that we see together, we like, uh, you know, when is it going to, I mean, we saw the Uso's fight and they came from the same room. Yeah. Like we've seen the Uso's fight. I've seen the Steiner brothers, the Dudley's like we've seen, we've seen it happen so many times. And it's just like every tag team, you got to think like, oh, man, you know, some, some stick stuck together, which is great.
But yeah. I mean, speaking of tag teams fighting the new day, not looking yo, let me tell you something. Monday night raw that segment with Kingston and woods boy was cinematic. As Martin Scorsese would say, this was my God, because there was some real talk. They say the best promos, the best character where it come from, when you really put a little bit of yourself into it, every joke got a little real. And let me tell you something, man, like the stuff that was being said between those two men was kind of like, it was uncomfortable, man. Like in all of the, all these years that have gone by, not once, not once can I remember anyone bringing up the Lesnar fight. No, when that happened, yo, I was like, yo, they looking right now, like fight is everyone knows. And for those of you may be new to wrestling and don't know Kofi Kingston, he caught lightning in a bottle at one point.
All right. The fan rush, the fan groundswell for him to become champion was so huge that something called Kofi mania was birthed, pushed heavily by the other members of the new day. Woods wasn't wrong about that, but everyone, all wrestling fans saw Kofi and his 11 year journey. We all got on board. We pushed him to winning the WWE championship at WrestleMania. And the only problem I have with that moment is I knew it was happening. Like I was like, there's no way he can't win. So when the three count hit, I don't think I was as joyous as I should have been because I'm like, yeah, yeah, of course.
You know, and that's one thing I wish I could take back was me not being as sure that this had to happen, you know, because I wanted that moment. And there was a video that went around that was so great. The late Shad Gaspard and MVP were at a bar watching the pay-per-view and somebody was recording them watching Kofi win.
And the two of them met grown men who are in the business, were in the business, just tears in their eyes. Like that's how big of a moment this was. And for it to end, I have no problem with Kofi Kingston losing to Brock Lesnar. Kofi Kingston should lose to Brock Lesnar. But Kofi Kingston's character has always been about being athletic and intelligent. The way he avoids getting eliminated in Royal Rumbles, the, you know, so for Kofi to go bum rush Brock Lesnar, that, that just never made sense.
It's never going to make sense. And for him to lose the belt like that, it's still kind of, it hurts a lot of wrestling fans. So for Woods to bring that up, like that was like, yo, they shoot and you reopened a wound. I forgot I had bro.
And then for Kofi to tell Woods that he's never been good enough. Oh my goodness, man. And it was, it hurt because you can't come back from that.
I'm sorry. There were just some lines that, and especially in friendship, once you cross, you can't put that toothpaste back in the tomb, man. And after the things that those two said to each other, I just, I don't know that even Biggie coming back can, can put the new day back together again, man.
I hope so, because it's been great watching them for the last decade, but that's a dog to quote Kendrick Lamar. Okay. Oh no. Oh no. We ain't got to get personal. This is a friendly fade.
You should keep it that way. Oh, they did not. I hope it was a talk before then, because my God, that was, that was, it was just so real. It felt so visceral. Like, and it felt like two brothers that it's like, boy, you lucky.
We got the same mom. Yeah. And it's also like, I've been wanting to say this to you for a minute. And so that, uh, that right there, you know, everybody knows I'm a bloodline guy that right there is the juiciest story running right now.
Cause I need to see what's going to, I need to see where it is the greatest tag teams of all time. And we talk about breaking up. They've lasted a decade and not broken up. So, so like this, it's just one of those wrestling things, man. It's, it's tough.
That was, that was, that was once again, it just show you that black people can't have nothing. Well, I hope that's nice. Let's talk sleep number people. There's a reason why sleep number is the official sleep and wellness partner of the national football league, because in the NFL, there's no margin for error. One mistake can change the outcome of a game and science proves quality sleep can help boost reaction time, recovery time, and overall athletic performance. Imagine what it can do for you. I know about it. My sleep number setting is 60.
My wife's is 70. It's just 10 numbers of different, but it really does make the difference. We can adjust our side of the bed the way that we want and get the perfect quality sleep that we need to be more ourselves and work around the kids. It's awesome. Get ready and get yourself to a sleep number store. If you're in the market for a new bed, you should stop at a sleep number store and why not? It's awesome. Again, is a reason why it's the official sleep and wellness partner of the national football league.

And that's the introduction of not one, but now two women's mid card championships, the new United States women's championship, which we knew about. We knew that tournament was already going.
It was like, man, I know, I know they got to have an intercontinental and now Adam Pierce, by the way, Pierce, I want to see you back in that ring at some point. All right, man, you really pushing this just the same way. I'm pushing for Zelina Vega. Well, you're pushing for Zelina Vega. I'm pushing for a Nick Aldis versus Adam Pierce match, which I'm just going to probably mention that on every, every podcast.
I'm going to say push Zelina to the cows. Come on. They do it. But yeah, the new intercontinental women's championship has now been created and I'm not sure when that's going to happen, but what are your thoughts on these two new belts? We kind of touched on the U S bell. What do you think about this? I mean, as a whole, this, this allows so many more stories. It allows so many more avenues for the women besides tag or the big belt. Like that's, that's, that's really all they had to work with as far as building characters, building storylines, building faces, building heels, and is now opened up such a can of warm, such a Pandora's box of opportunity.
And that's what it's all about. You know, you, you talk about making people stars in the women just had the short end of the stick when it came to that for so long. I mean, Sasha and Bailey fighting just for us to get the tag titles. Now their tag titles aren't like, there's no brand split for the women's tag titles.
So it gives the opportunity for them to be able to bounce on either show, which is more eyes for the champion. So, you know, I can't really knock that. There's a lot of people who have things to say about, you know, what's going on with the raw men's tag titles, but the mid card titles for the ladies is something long overdue as a, as an advent player of WWE two K I've had them for years and it works out.
I'm letting you guys know right now. It works out completely. I'm happy for them.
I'm happy for them. And also WWE shops sell that merge, baby. Oh, you know, that's my only, my only, my only worry is sometimes we feel like the women can get lost in the shuffle when it comes to story lines. And now we're, we're going to introduce two new women's championships and I, but I started thinking about it. I'm like, okay, now smack down and raw, we'll go back to being three hours.
So now they each have an extra hour to tell some stories. And it makes sense when you look at NXT and just look at the main roster, there were some tremendous talent in the women's division that don't really get utilized. Now they got a chance to shine. There's so many women who these two belts are going to help their career. But then you look at NXT and you see the crop of women that are about to come on NXT because they're on their way, man. And they're coming. So now you look at that and you go, all right, it makes even more sense because we got this crop coming.
We still have a bunch of women here that we need stuff to do with. So I, I think this is going to be all right, man. And I think, especially with each show being three hours, hopefully they'll get the time to tell those stories because intercontinental title is a big deal. The us title for men is a big deal and we need those on equal footing for the women. Now, my only question is now who do you make the inaugural champion? That's big because in my mind you always, and look, maybe it's because I'm an old school wrestling fan, but I feel like you need to have an established name to hold these belts first to kind of set off the lineage. You know, that's why Buddy Rogers was the first WWWF champion. That's why Pat Patterson was the first IC champion.
You know, that you want to have a name attached to these belts. So the Lakers were the first end season tournament champion. Yeah.
Nobody really cared about that. It's the mid-card NBA title. But you know, I, I think I threw Naomi out as the person I'd like to see when yeah, multiple time champion in the women's championship. Let's talk about this IC title, man, because I I've got a name that I think is deserving and I want to know what you think.
Okay. She's a workhorse. She's someone who's put in the time and the hours. And from what I know from friends who've worked backstage at WWE, she's always there to help to do whatever she can to elevate these girls. I think it would be kind of cool to see Natty.
I knew you was going to mention the boat. I think it would be cool to see Natty get that chance, whether she holds it for a day or a hundred days, I feel that she's done enough work in this division that she's deserving to have her name etched on that title. I definitely feel, I feel you on that because Natalya has always, she always has been there as a worker, you know, as a grinder, as a worker, whether that is to help elevate others or whatever she needs to do in a strictly for the love of the game. So to reward her is, you know, the, I, I couldn't knock that at all, obviously, um, hashtag push the Lena. Well, like it, uh, I wouldn't be mad at that. I wouldn't be mad at that much respect to everything that that family's done for the business.
So I wouldn't be bad at that at all. That's, that's a, that's a fine point. Now we talked about the, uh, the women of NXT on the way, our guests. I mean, was she not one of the, like, as far as the only time I even remember her being healed was over there.
But the only time she was here, like Bianca was the, the spearhead of a, of a huge shift. Yeah. And, uh, I can't believe we got her today, dude. Yeah.
It's insane, man. Ladies and gentlemen, as promised now, TJ, we've had some great guests from the past and present pass on no contest, but we'll pass in the future, but yeah. And yeah, as well, but who better to have as our first woman superstar than the best, the greatest, the strongest, the fastest, the quickest, the EST, the dopest.
She even put the EST in WrestleMania a few times, but y'all can catch her this Saturday in Vancouver at Survivor Series war games. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome Bianca Belair to the pod. Hello. What a treat.
Good to see you, Bianca. Now war games. That's a, you know, it's not the, uh, it's one of the more physical matches that you can have.
And, you know, it's definitely an endurance test. What is your mindset going into a war games match for us mere mortals? Ooh, war games. It's war games is just in a lane of its own.
Um, you know, it's not just one ring it's two rings. It's inside of a steel cage match. It's two teams against each other. Sometimes you're on the team with people that you don't get along with it's weapons, it's ladders, it's chairs, it's Kindle sticks. People get creative and they bring in a weapon you've never seen before. So it's a whole lot going on. Uh, it's probably one of the most intense and physically demanding matches that I've ever been a part of. Um, but it's unpredictable. It's exciting, but it is one of the matches that I do get intimidated by, um, whenever I'm in it, but you kind of just have to depend on everything.
Like I'm the EST. So I have to be all the strongest, the fastest, the roughest, the toughest, the quickest, the greatest, the best. And I have to try to have strategy and, uh, work with my team.
But it's people coming off of the top of the steel cage, people going through ladders and tables. It's, it's chaotic. Um, but it's a lot of fun, but it's very, very chaotic. Now, somebody that you have, cause I heard you say that, you know, you might be teaming up with people you don't get along with and you two have done a lot of battles in the past. And that's why I can see how great of chemistry you and EO sky.
Yeah. Tell us a little bit of what it's like working with EO. EO is amazing. Uh, she's literally won the best in the business, uh, EO sky. We've been, you know, fighting alongside each other and against each other for years. We were in NXT together.
We were a part of the very first women's board games match ever in WWE together in NXT. Um, you know, EO actually has the most experience out of all of us. She's been in six war games matches.
I've been in four. Uh, so, but we've, we probably have the most chemistry out of everybody who worked together a whole lot, but man, she, she's amazing. Um, EO she's fast. She's, she's creative. She's innovative. She's doing moonsaults off the top of the cage with she's just amazing. I think we have amazing chemistry together and I love working with EO.
All right, Bianca. So, you know, I also like to get to know the person, you know, we know what you're doing now, but I always, I always like to turn the page a little bit and see how you got to where you are now. Now you were a track and field athlete and then a CrossFit competitor started with NXT back in 2016. Can you just share the story with us about how your wrestling journey started? And were you a fan of wrestling before you got into the business? Yeah, my journey into WWE, it was a little more unique when I came in in 2016. The answer to that is no, I really didn't watch wrestling like that growing up. So like when I meet people who say, you know, I don't really watch wrestling.
It's not for me. I'm like, listen, I don't judge you. That used to be me.
Just, just come to a show and you'll fall in love just like me. But I didn't really watch it growing up. My brother watched it. So I saw it here and there, but I played almost every sport in the book, but in college I was a track and field athlete. I was a hurdler. So I went to University of South Carolina. Then I transferred to Texas A&M.
Then I finished off at the University of Tennessee. So I pretty much was an athlete my whole life. When I finished college, I was so used to being an athlete. Like I couldn't let that competitive like spirit go. So I found CrossFit and weightlifting and I had been grinding my whole life as an athlete. So I was like, I was, I haven't been having as much fun as I should have. So in CrossFit I started making and sewing my own outfits and I was like branding myself on social media.
I didn't even realize it. And I was wearing these crazy outfits to compete in. I was grabbing the microphone and talking to the audience.
I was turning flips before I was like power cleaning and pressing. I was basically performing and I was just having fun. And Mark Henry, who's a WWE Hall of Famer, he saw a video of me and he's like, this isn't, this isn't CrossFit. This is wrestling.
And he DM'd me. He's like, have you ever thought of being a WWE wrestler? And I was like, oh, you know, I've watched some divas.
I've kind of, I kind of had a conversation with my mom about it, but I was kind of just joking about it. But he was like, I can get you a tryout. Can't get them to hire you, but if you just come be yourself, like you're good. So it took two tryouts.
I did two tryouts. I got hired, started in WWE in 2016 and I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I didn't even realize that this was my dream until it became my reality. And I completely fell in love with it. Never imagined myself being a WWE superstar. Now I can't imagine myself not being one. So it's really just like, I always say wrestling kind of found me and it's like my soulmate.
It's like, what's for you will be for you. So I started in 2016. I had no idea what I was doing, but I fell in love with it. And I feel like I was able to pull from like my gymnastics background and my track and field background. And I was able to pull from that and use my athleticism to learn the physical part, but there's so much more to wrestling than just the physical part.
So I've learned the other parts of that along the years. How long did it take for you, for your personality to shine? Because in particular, I'm thinking of, there was one moment where Charlotte came back to NXT. I believe it was Charlotte, Rhea, Toni Storm, and maybe Io in the ring. And you gave the girl, you don't even go here. So like, how long did it take for you to have that Bianca come out?
I would say it came fairly quickly. I remember Mark Henry came down to the PC and I was trying to figure out like, what is this character? And he pulled me aside and he was like, you know, what do you want to represent?
What do you want to be? You want to walk in the ring and people automatically know what you're about without you having to say anything. You want to tie it all in together from your look to the way you talk to the moves you do. And I was just like, I don't know. I'm kind of all over the place. I'm not just one thing.
I don't just, you can't just put me in a box. Like I'm not just like a high flyer. I can do like big, strong stuff too.
So I, it just kind of came out of nowhere. I remember I was doing a promo and I was saying how I'm not just, I'm not just strong. I'm the strongest and I'm not just fast and, you know, but I'm also the fastest and I'm the roughest and I'm the toughest. I'm the quickest. I'm the greatest.
I'm the best. And all these things ended in an EST. And I was like, oh, I can simplify it.
I'm the EST of NXT. And then I feel like once I got that, that happened within like six months. And the first thing that I did, it stuck. And once I got that, everything else just kind of came naturally to me. And I feel like I was able to have, like, I just want to be unapologetically mean. I want it to be bold.
I want it to be loud. And I was like, I want to be confident in, at the time of NXT, I was on the verge of more cocky, but I was like, I was able to have that swag. I was able to have that sassiness and I just have fun with it. It just came so quickly and easily and naturally. And I had a lot of really cool promos at NXT and that's when the whole girl, you don't even go out.
So it's, it's stuck ever since. Now, my, uh, my, my little girl, Jordan loves you to death. You know, you, you, you hooked her up with a birthday video back in the day, but also my mom loves you. All right. Whenever I talk to her about wrestling and you involved, I get told what happened. Don't tell me. Okay.
Just let me know. Like, she don't want to see nothing happen to Bianca. What does it feel like to, for someone who didn't watch the business and to be put into this position? How good does it feel to have the, the approval rating that you do? You know, you are a hero to, to so many. Um, and for you to be discovered the way that you are, it just seems like this is the right place, right time for you. And they'll say, just if I could piggyback on that, Bianca, when you look out and you see the amount of girls and I'm talking girls of all colors, of all ethnicities, and they all got that braid going and they're all doing the skip and they're spinning.
Yeah. To piggyback on what he said, like, how does that feel for you to see that? It feels amazing. It feels like, you know, that feeling you get when you feel like you're walking in your purpose.
That's what it feels like. I truly feel like I'm walking to my purpose. I feel like it's that validation of like, what you're doing is working. It has an impact.
It has a positive influence on people. Um, and it's even, it's even more special when I know it's like multi-generational, right? You see little girls, you see grown women, you see boys, you see grown men. Um, you know, my favorite thing is doing meet and greets and seeing the little ESTs that come in. And that's actually what inspired my WrestleMania entrance. Um, you know, I saw these little girls and I'm like, these are my little ESTs.
And, um, you know, I always say, I want them to see themselves in me when I'm out there. And I'm like, no, they, I want them to see themselves on that stage. So that's why I got the Divas of Compton. It was a girl dance group from ages seven to 11. I had them on the stage with me at WrestleMania. And listen, those girls had the most confidence I've ever seen.
I was like, I wish I had that confidence when I was their age. I can't imagine that how they're going to change the world, but that's what it's all about. Like, some people go out there, you know, they love to get the booze, they love to get the cheers and it's an ego thing. But to me, it's just like, you know, I'm creating this legacy and my role models did amazing things for me. And I can be a role model for somebody. It sounds so cliche, but it's like, it's so true. And, um, it's a, it's a really special feeling that like, I'm doing something I never imagined I would be doing. And now I'm doing it.
I'm having this crazy impact. And so it's like, I'm walking to my purpose. That's a whole other feeling besides like accomplishing wins and championships and maybe even a WrestleMania when like you're walking in your purpose.
It's a, it's an amazing feeling. Now we've mentioned a man a few times so far in this interview, the man, Mark Henry. Now I believe TJ, do you, do you have a clip?
Yeah. You know, Mark joined us a few weeks ago, Bianca. And, um, well, I just want to show this to you what, what Mark had to say. Each one of them girls and the guys will tell you, they get two speeches.
The first speech is don't disappoint me. And secondly, you don't sleep with another Russell. I remember the day that Bianca Belair called me and she said, um, I, I really liked this guy down here. And, uh, I want you to meet him, but I told him what you said, and he really respects you. And he, you know, he won't go out with me.
She gave him my number and I got a call from Montez and Montez said, Hey, Mr. Henry, I never met you before, but like, uh, I'm a friend of Bianca's and my first time, man, let me stop you, man. I said, man, I know she hot, man. I said, but like, we, we don't do that in our business. I said, not us.
I said, the rules are different. I was like, you can derail her career or she can derail yours. He said, man, he said, I've been married before. So I know what, what love is. And he said, I realize now that I never was in love before because like meeting her, like it was love at first sight, man, his bell's ringing and I want to marry her. And I said, so have you talked to her dad? He said, no, I want to talk to you first.
Wow. He said, because Bianca said that I can't talk to you without you talking to Mark Henry first. Was, was, was, was Ted sweating a little as he was down on that? Cause just hearing the story was making me nervous and we know how it turned out.
Oh, funny. As soon as he said, I have two talks. I remember it. So that first talk was when he was like, don't disappoint me. But then he was helping me with like, figuring out like what I want this character to be. And that second talk, I remember him talking to me at the performance and he's like, we don't date each other. And I'm just looking at him like, uh, kind of already am, but okay.
I hear you. And I remember just going back in and telling my husband now, like, Oh, this guy got, this man got me in the door. He got me opportunity and he telling me not to do something, but I'm kind of already doing it.
Like, how can we fix this now? So he was like, I got it. I got it. So yeah, he definitely went and had that like my husband had to have two talks with one with Mark Henry and one with my daddy for approval. So, but it all. So whatever he said worked because he got the approval.
He got the push from both. Let's talk all Raleigh auto parts people. You love their jingle. You're going to love their friendly, helpful service even better. What time is it game time now? Another question that we asked Mark because he, you know, he had been in the business for so long when he finally got his world title and we asked him, you know, what it felt like to after all your hard work to finally have the big one and what it felt like that night laying his head on the pillow as world champion. So obviously we all know about mania and the, the show that was put on, what was it like having that title going back home and just like that, that feeling of, I just did that.
Man, that was a wild night. Um, for one, you have to understand how new I was. It's not like my very first year on the main roster. So you have this person who is super new and I'm just happy that I'm on the main roster and I'm just happy at the time to be in the warrior rumble, which is, you know, I, which I won the Royal rumble and that's what got me to WrestleMania. And I remember winning the Royal rumble and just being happy that I won. And then I looked, I looked to the left and I saw the WrestleMania sign and I was like, Oh, Oh yeah, I'm going to WrestleMania. I get to pick a, choose a champion. I get to go for, have a title match at WrestleMania. And then, you know, us, uh, you know, every, all of the fans rallying behind us and creating this hashtag for us to be the main event and us not even, you know, knowing.
So it just, it just kept getting better and better and better. And we found out that the night before, uh, along with everyone else that we were many, many WrestleMania, we, I remember we both broke down. Um, we'd like had to take a minute. We both broke down and I'm like, is this real? Like, how is this happening right now? And how is it me this, in this position? So I was excited, but also felt like there was like this huge weight on my shoulders. Um, because it could have been anybody else in this position has been so many other black women before me that could have been here.
And because of what they've done, like, that's why we were in that position. So we were able to make history and be the first two black women ever made me at WrestleMania. And that day, I remember it was a thunderstorm and it delayed WrestleMania. And at this point, WrestleMania even going to happen because it's outside.
And what if it starts lightning during the match? And I'm like, I was like, I knew it. It was too good to be true. I knew it.
Match is going to be canceled. And, um, it was so much like anticipation. And then I remember right before I went out, I'm usually very, very nervous before my matches.
And right before I went out, I remember my husband looked at me. He was like, how do you, how do you feel? And I was like, I'm good. I was so calm.
Like it was eerie. And I was like, I'm good. I feel good. Like I just had this really weird feeling of like, now you got this, you're good. But then my music hit and I went out there and I got in the ring. And if anybody wants to know how much that moment meant to me, just go back and watch that match before the match even starts. I think everything just hit me all at once.
Uh, you know, it's me sitting across from Sasha. It's the first time that everybody had gotten back together since the pandemic and read the main event of WrestleMania and all this anticipation and thunderstorms and all this stuff building up. And we're finally in that moment. And I just, I broke down. That was an amazing moment to watch you two.
And I'm glad you brought that up because, you know, a lot of times, you know, social media will have this thing where, well, why do you bring color in this stuff? Well, because in this particular case, it meant something like you said, the first two African-American women to do something like that, to let other little girls know that this could be something that they can achieve because miss Jackie, she never got that chance. And, and jazz never got that chance. And awesome Kong never got that chance.
Women who could have, they never did. So it does mean something despite when people try to tell you, it doesn't, it does mean something, man. So when you two looked at each other and you got that emotion on your face and it was evidence, I mean, I got goosebumps then I'm getting goosebumps now thinking about it. And it was just, that was one of the greatest moments in the history of wrestling. And you two didn't even lock up yet. I know.
And that's, what's so special about that. Like without even us touching each other, saying anything, the moment was already there. And I think like the whole wrestling universe just stood still. I have goosebumps now too.
Sorry. The whole wrestling universe, WWE universe is still in that moment. And it's because that moment was bigger than just wrestling. That's what was so special about it. And that night, like I walked away with that title, but at the end of the day, neither one of us, like neither one of us lost that night.
We both won, everybody won that night. And we won an SP off of that moment. It was just, it's something that's indescribable to even explain. Like, I think I've only watched that match back twice because it takes so much emotion out of me when I watch it. It's just something that's one of my favorite moments ever. And it jumped out of my career to now like where I am now. But yeah, that moment was huge.
Yeah, man. Now it's something I want to quickly touch on is that, that rumble, you know, that, that Royal rumble when you had to do that in the Thunderdome, right? What is, what was that like? I mean, you're our first guest who was in the Thunderdome.
So like, what is that experience? I know it had to be a little off, but the everyone involved during that time as a fan of WWE, you guys put on many movies, like we can actually hear what you guys are saying. And so a new level was added to so much of the viewing. What was it like on your side of things in the Thunderdome?
It was strange. You know, you go from wrestling in front of thousands of people to all of a sudden now you're wrestling in front of no one. And WWE was one of the first people to have the virtual fans.
And so we had the Thunderdome virtual fans, which was, it was better than having nothing. But at the end of the day, you're walking out and you're not getting to see, like, our job is to put smiles on fans faces. So what we work for, you know, when we're out there, we're trying, I'm trying to put smiles on their faces and I can't see their faces. And all I have is that camera and I'm trying to make people feel something through it. And I'm trying to make people feel something through the camera. And I will say, I feel like it made me a better performer. And you have to understand that, that I just got called up. So that's how I was being introduced to the WWE universe. And it was so hard for me because I'm like, I can't see these people. I don't, I don't even know how I'm being received because when you're out there, you can get a cheer or you can get a boo.
You can get automatic validation, but you don't, you don't know until you go back to your phone and you're like, okay, what does everybody think? So it made me, I think it made us all better performers. And I think that if you go back in to that Thunderdome era, you've watched some of the matches. Some of, I think some of the best matches were put on during that time because we had to put on one crazy performance, but it was strange. But I feel like during that time, like everybody backstage, even like we were, we got so much closer because we were all in it together where the world was going through this crazy time. And it was like, it was our release. It was every, our fans outlet.
They could turn on everything else kind of shut down, but you could turn on the TV and you would see WWE. And, you know, it was during a tough time in the world where we were an outlet for people, but strange, you know, I won the Royal Rumble and there were no fans. But what I will say is I was so caught up in that moment that I didn't even realize that there weren't any fans when I won that Royal Rumble. That's how like amazing that moment was. Bianca, in addition to being, you know, the EST, one of the best in the business right now, you know, I think what comes with that in wrestling is a whole presentation thing, right?
And I'm talking the look of a wrestler, you know, how they move, how they act, how they walk, how they talk. Now you are known for your ring gear that you make yourself. And for the braid, like my mom used to be a seamstress when I was a kid. So we had a sewing machine in the house and I'd always see patterns and, you know, you know, the materials and my mom would bring this huge spool of like material home. And then next to, you know, I had a bathrobe like four hours later. So I just wanted to know the inspiration for your outfits in your sewing.
Where did that come from? And where did the idea of the braid come from? So for sewing, I've always kind of made my own clothes. Even as a kid, my mama had that, like that blue cookie tin like container. Yeah.
With all the needles and the thread in it. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. Like everybody has something different in it.
It has everything but cookies in it. Artists had the sewing needle and the thread, but I used to just like sew up the holes in socks and I used to sew pillowcases. I was always like creating things. And then in high school I used to create our track team's t-shirts and I was like always the designer. I was always, I always loved fashion.
So when I got into CrossFit, it's kind of when it started, I was, I wore like tutus and I wore these big bows and I wore capes and like entrance pieces for CrossFit. And I just was having fun with it. And I was like, I'm going to bring personality to it. And then when I got into WWE, I tried to get a gear maker, but it's hard for me to tell somebody what's in my mind and have them bring it to life.
And sometimes I don't even know what I'm doing. So I was like, okay, I'm just going to do it myself. I'm a hands-on person.
And I always like, I'm a control freak as it is. So yeah, I started making my own gear. My husband bought me my first sewing machine when I was in NXT.
And I have some gears from the beginning where I look back and I'm like, why y'all didn't, y'all should have told me that was not cute. With a lot of practice, like I've never taken a sewing class before. I learned everything through trial and error and through YouTube. And for the inspiration, I kind of just, I try to look at the theme of what the PLE is and try to go off of that. Or I just try to bring something new to the table.
Like I want to be known as somebody who is like a trendsetter and is innovative and I'm always trying to bring something new to the table. So the gear is a whole part of the presentation. And so I'm always, I'm literally working on my gear now for Survivor Series. But I'm working on gear to the last minute. I'm in airports doing my gear. I'm taking a sewing machine or Instacart and a sewing machine at the hotels and doing my gear.
It's a lot. It saves me a lot of money, but not a lot of time. But it's special because when I get to watch the video games or the action figures, that's the gear that I made. And for the PLEs, I only wear my gear once because I want to look at that gear and it takes me back to that specific moment. So, you know, that's kind of where I get my inspiration for my gear. And as far as the braid, so the person behind the braid is actually my husband. Yeah.
So, you know, kudos to him. Hey, Tiesna, how'd this come up? Yeah. So I was a huge Beyonce fan. Well, I am a huge Beyonce fan. She wore a braid at the concert and I was like, I'm just going to wear it just, you know, just for a style. And I wore it one time at practice and my coach was like, well, if you're going to wear it, you're going to have to figure out how to use it because the girls are just going to pull on it.
And I was talking to my husband. I'm like, well, I don't know if I want to wear the braid. I kind of want to wear my hair down because I see what all the other girls are doing.
They have their hair down and it's pretty. And my husband was like, nope. He was like, the best way to be successful in this business is to stand out. And he was like, look at what everybody else is doing and do the complete opposite. And he said, nobody else wears that braid. So wear it, you're going to stand out.
He said, somebody might come to a show for the first time and they might not remember your name the first time, but they'll remember the girl with the braid. Right. That's smart. Hey, Ties. Yep.
Because of him, I wore it. And now it's my thing. So. Well, well, Bianca, we got two more before we let you get out of here. We got one that we do on the no contest wrestling podcast. And we got to ask every guest, especially as they first go around. And this is going to be the first time we've asked the female. Yeah, exactly.
First, first time ever exclusive. And then we go ask you something to set up survivor series. But TJ, you said you had a new way to ask Bianca. I don't know if she'd be hanging out in the bar so much.
I'm thinking maybe her and the, her and the girls are at some, you know, all inclusive type vacation that they used to have on the total divas show, you know, just hanging with your girls. And then, and then, you know, situation, maybe y'all at a lounge, but there's 50 ladies who are hating on y'all, hating on you and you need a crew of you and four other wrestlers to make sure y'all get to the car. So who, who's getting snatched?
Who are you picking to get snatched? Besides yourself for ladies to help you get to the car. Ooh, me and for the girls.
Yes, ma'am. Ooh, I could pick anybody. Cause can't nobody mess with you.
I mean, but you know, somebody might try to jump you from the back B so we got to make sure got to have eyes on yet. Okay. So I'm going to choose. Okay. Me. And then of course my taxing partner, Jay, because we got to have each other's backs.
I'm not going to depend on her. I'm going to have real briefly up in there. That might be all three of them come up, give them a look and they go, right.
So Jay, Nia Jax. Okay. That's going to move some, move the crowd as Eric B and Rakim said, cause you know, she a big old bully and then, Ooh, my fifth person. Yeah.
That's hard. I got to go with my girl Naomi because she'd be snatching it. Came out the other week and she was tearing Candace up. She was not letting her go.
She was just Well, I'm gonna, I'm gonna tell you what y'all get into the car unscathed. Yeah. Right. Y'all might take pictures, right?
As they're doing it. So Bianca Belair, I got to let you know, I want to let you know that we are inducting you into the no contest wrestling podcast hall of fame, the first female inductee. And I want to just say congratulations on that. Now, when we get the actual hall of fame completed, right, we're going to put a bust of you there. And then we're going to have a little, little, you know, video playing next to your bus and it's on a loop going to have three matches that define Bianca Belair's career. So let me ask you, I know just off the top of your head, this might be tough, but give us three matches that you want to put on that hall of fame loop.
Okay. Match number one would be maybe being a WrestleMania, Bianca Belair versus Sasha Banks. The next match would be WrestleMania, Bianca Belair versus Becky Lynch. And the third match will be honestly any Bianca Belair versus Bailey match. But I go with, oh, we've had so many bangers.
I would have to go maybe hell in a cell. Yeah. That's a good one. Or last one is standing. But really any match versus Bianca Belair versus Bailey, those three. Now this Saturday at survivor series, you go to him against, you know, the two world champs and Naya and, and live. Ra Ra Ra is in there along with Tiffy and Candace. Now we know what happened, you know, with Jade and got the wrestling world on pause a little bit. We like that at all.
Yeah, we were, I mean, black people hate it. Somebody got to pay for that. We worried about the tag titles and all this, but you guys are missing a fifth member going into war games.
Any idea? Is there a voting process? What can we expect to see this Saturday at six 30? Cause I know you said you didn't care on Monday, but you got to care a little bit, right? No, I mean, this is the thing. So we have EO style who approached me last week. Her vote was, was Kari saying everybody knows the, the history I've gone through with damage control and when EO popped up, I'm like, okay, EO, you cool. Okay. But when she said Kari, I'm like, I don't know about too much more damage.
I can do it one, but if I got two and you're not, now I gotta wash my back. And then that Naomi, her vote is Bailey, which I liked that idea even less because Bailey used to be a part of damage control. So she was a part of the group that made my life and live in hell for the past two years. And then you have Rhea Ripley, who she's like, she's like, I don't care who it is.
She just won't live more. So at this point, I'm just like, I'm not really liking either suggestions, but I'm leaving it up to the team. I'm always going to put the team first and, you know, whichever decision that they think is best, I'm gonna go with it.
I just know that wherever they go with, listen, we had to go in as a team. But, you know, Bailey came out and helped me against Nia Jax and, you know, everybody's saying she's turning to leave. She's changing. And I'm like, okay, I see you. I see you. You know, I think, I think Bailey, I think Bailey showed her allegiance, uh, when she came out and helped me with Nia, but, you know, I ain't letting her all the way in, you know, locked in for war games. I'm locked in for war games, uh, with, with Bailey on our team. There you have it, ladies and gentlemen, Bianca Belair.
You can catch her kicking ass on survivor series, war games at six 30 Eastern exclusively on peacock in the U S man. Thank you for your time. We really appreciate you. Come back, kick it. Next time you're in LA, please. We got room for you here.
We got to call me and I'll bring, I'll bring test with me. Yes. Yeah. You know, I've been, I've been, I've been DMing Dawkins on, on Instagram. I'm like, go bangles fan.
He'd be crazy. That's fine. That's fine. We, we, we need, we need the profits up in here, man. Cause you know, I want to smoke.
I know you want, we all want to smoke. Thank you so much. Thank you. Let's go TJ. I'm saying, you know, bro, three times, three times. That's what I'm talking about.
