Live from BMW Welt in Munich, Germany. Bella Check is now that guy. Is he looming over this process right now? Do you think, Tom? Every discussion I have, that's one of the first ones that everybody brings up.
Bella Check. Where is he going? Jacksonville. Do you think Doug Peterson really gets fired there? Earlier on the show. Pro Football Hall of Famer Joe Thomas.
Still to come. Pro Football Hall of Famer and two time MVP Kurt Warner. NFL network host Colleen Wolf. And now it's Rich Eisen.
That's right. Everybody back here on The Rich Eisen Show. Live from Munich, Germany at BMW Welt. We are live in Munich site of the Sunday first of four window opener on NFL network or right here on the Roku portal on NFL Plus between the Giants and the Carolina Panthers. I'm calling that game with Kurt Warner, who's about to join us live here in our beautiful studio right next to an all new electric, all electric BMW i5. I know I keep on mentioning this baby that's to my right, but it is beautiful, man.
It is great. TJ, you got your eyes on it, you know? Well, you know, I'm in the market for a new car, Rich. Oh, is that right? Do you know?
Well, here's the thing is, do you know the actual retail price of this car? I'm sure I could get close to it. You know how good I am?
By the way, without going over, by the way, both of you, a double over means neither of you get it just in case you need to have that refresh. Should we guess right now? No, no, it's all right. All right. Good to see you guys right here. Hey, what's up, man? Good to see you. Colin Wolf. Hey, thank you. He's going to join us in hour three.
What's up, brother? Because I can remember a few months ago when this plan had started to... When we were cultivating this caper? Cultivate the caper and I was like, there's no way.
I'd look the problem like there were not. There's no way that we're going to pull this off again. Here we are. Here we are, man. Let's do it.
This is amazing. You know, here we in fact are. In fact.
And I'm excited for it. In this world that we live in, in the sports talk world in which we live, we're entering week 10 in the National Football League and it is what one would say, must win territory for a lot of teams. Must win territory. And your Cowboys leap to mind at three and five. You could even make a case tonight's Cincinnati Bengals at four and five. It would help if they won tonight. If they do not win their four and six and they'd be swept by the Ravens in that second straight time that they're entering a game to have a chance at getting back to 500 after starting Owen three.
It's better to do that early rather than late. And the last time they played such a game, they took on Philadelphia and lost it. Then they beat Vegas.
So now they're back into that mode. It would be great if they could actually win it, right? That's another team that can must win it. Indianapolis taking on Buffalo. It's kind of a must win if they want to have a shot here, have a good shot. They can obviously go on a nice little run. Even after that jets at three and six in Arizona must win territory, right?
This is a jet free zone. I don't want to talk about that. Chris, they're not, they're not relevant. They're not going to the playoffs. They're not going to win the Superbowl.
Why are we wasting breath? Because Aaron Rogers is their quarterback. Davante Adams is their wide receiver and they're playing together again.
And this was all being put in the eggs of a, of a, of a basket that was overloaded with losses. Thanks to a team that just was underperforming and shockingly fired their coach. And if they go to three and seven, then we're totally in a jet free zone that, you know, and they're taking on an Arizona Cardinals team that, wait a minute, that's in first place in the so-called toughest division of football, right? Well, if they're playing a first place team against a three and 16, this game shouldn't be close.
Okay. Tampa Bay at four and five, are they in must win territory? Big time. They're, they're on life support, I feels like. It's because of the injuries, you know, the injuries. I know Baker, Baker's really playing his heart out, but they're, they're struggling right now.
Dolphins, Monday night football. They've played really well with Tua. Unfortunately, they've gotten really unlucky. They've lost on buzzer beating field goals in, in the two weeks, but Tua has looked good and you can tell he makes such a difference obviously in the offense and how it functions and how it trickles down to everybody else. But yes, definitely must win. Let me give you a must win team.
That's at 500. Very odd to say that. Well, I know who you're, I know who you're going to say, and I'm with you. Okay. The Chicago Bears. Absolutely.
100%. Cannot go home after being gone from home for a month. They went to London to take on Jacksonville. Last, I guess, previously on Chicago Bears football, last the fans saw of Chicago, they beat Carolina in soldier field, then hopped a flight to London, then a bye week, then at Washington at Arizona. So it's been over a month since these fans have seen them. And for this team to enter this game at four and four and lose to the New England Patriots at home to drop to four and five in a division that has not one, not two, but three teams with six wins or better.
And the conversation all over Chicago that was sparked by Tyreek Stevenson. Let me make sure I say this appropriately. Stunted. Yes. Translates. Okay. Over the first three to four seconds of a 12 second long Jaden Daniels run around before he launches a hail Mary that Tyreek Stevenson goes, Oh, wait a minute. This play is happening. Let me run just in time to be the one to tip the ball that goes into Noah Brown's hands.
Okay. That sort of moment that led to a public apology from Tyreek Stevenson. He handled it very well.
I thought so too. That started a conversation about accountability and who's holding this team accountable in that locker room. And is it the head coach or not? And then there was the game in Arizona where the bears got curb stomped. They didn't look anything like the team that I saw in London that had Caleb Williams throwing four touchdowns. They also didn't look like the team that we saw in DC in the fourth quarter where their rookie quarterback was growing up before our eyes, getting absolutely manhandled, stuck in the pocket, made his reads, made the plays and unfortunate play call on the goal line where they handed the ball off to a backup offensive lineman, as opposed to a red hot Deandre Swift that did lead however, to a three and out that got them the ball back that did put them in the end zone to go up before the Hail Mary didn't see that guys in Arizona at all. And then you also saw in that game DJ Moore in the middle of a play walk off the field, thinking that the quarterback was about to be sacked or the play was over and he's strolling off the field while Caleb Williams was trying to make lemonade and everybody's now wondering if the coach is holding anybody accountable. You might not have heard this because you guys were on a flight or you were here strolling the streets of Munich.
You know how we do. I do. But we played the soundbite of DJ Moore in a local radio show being asked, has Matt Iberfluss lost the locker room or is he losing the locker room? And his answer was, I want to say no.
And I had the perfect person sitting in Chris Brockman's chair for that segment, Suzy Schuster. And I said to her like, Suze, just let's just imagine, imagine if you will, imagine if you will, a world in which we are not as happily married as we are. I personally can't imagine that. Correct.
Let's imagine a world where we are not as on great footing as we are. Okay. Okay. And you ask me, you know, are you thinking there's something wrong with us? And I say to you, I want to say no.
How would that work? With Suzy Schuster? Or yes, just I asked that of her. I don't think that if you told her that it would go over very well.
Like a lead balloon. So I want to say no is not what you want to hear from a team leader. I mean, DJ Moore, we spoke to him before the game in London and he was saying in relation to the offense that everybody is finally getting the same Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi is turned on, they're connected. And then we did see a game in which the Wi-Fi was on.
And then we haven't seen that. Bye week, difficult three quarters, big time fourth quarter, Hail Mary just ruins it. And then another moment where DJ Moore is the one to stroll off the field and then says, I want to say no when it comes to the head coaches grasp of the locker room and does he have it or not? Is there a problem? And he says, I want to say no.
But talks about how the messages, you know, we're four and four, which means we're O and O. Let's all just hit the reset button. And that's why I'm saying you need to come up with a win if you're the Chicago Bears this week against New England. Yeah, struggling patch team. And you need to take this defense that has played very well at home, has actually scored points at home for the struggling offense. Remember, that's how they won their first game against Tennessee in week one. And they've scored on special. They've scored in all three phases at home.
Got to do it. And we have to, if there is something going on between DJ Moore and Caleb Williams, get that thing completely removed by getting this guy the football and getting connected, turning the Wi-Fi back on. And Caleb Williams had this to say on that very subject matter on Wednesday.
Obviously, it's not a in a place from the past games, a place where we would like it. Both of us, it's frustrating because you got a guy so special and not being able to connect and hit on certain passes is frustrating for myself. And I know it's frustrating for him because that's why receiver especially, you only get but so many chances so many times the ball comes your way in a game and things like that. So, I wouldn't put it past them that it's frustrating. But we got to figure it out.
That's the whole point about football is figuring out why things are certain ways and finding ways to overcome or get better at them. Something's up, right? Yeah. I mean, honestly, we're not there. We're not in the locker room. But something's up and a win needs to happen. For sure.
Very rare to have a 4-4 team be in must-win mode. And here's the thing, if they don't win and if Drake May plays well, we're gonna start hearing maybe they shouldn't have taken Caleb first overall. Come on, dude.
If Drake May outplays Caleb Williams, I guarantee you that's a Monday conversation. Well, because you'll start it. On overreaction Monday.
So, yeah, you're right. You've already done that though. You've kind of gone up to the brink of that on overreaction.
I've gone up to the brink. I said, look, the Bears need to throw the Brinks truck at Cliff Kingsbury. The offense needs fixed.
Caleb needs fixed. And I don't want to see this kid get ruined and get wasted and by this coaching staff that clearly doesn't know how to properly utilize him. You think that you're putting it all on the coaching staff right now, huh? NFL is coaching. NFL is coaching. These kids are talented. This guy's a Heisman Trophy winner.
He has succeeded at every level. And now we're seeing him really struggle with a lot of offensive talent around him. Why? The Dunsons, Moore, Kemet, Allen. Why did Cole Kemet have zero targets last week? What is going on with this offense? They gotta beat the New England pages at home. They have to.
Because if not, I mean, I have to. But the Bears are not going to make a move mid season anyway. They're not going to do that. They won't. It'll just turn up the heat.
It'll start the snowball. Well, that would be three losses in a row. Number one, a four and two team going to four and five. And then after that, they're home for Green Bay.
Good Lord. Home for Minnesota and then at Detroit on Thanksgiving before they're at San Francisco, at Minnesota on a Monday night. Home for Detroit. Really tough schedule. Thursday night football, home for Seattle and then at Green Bay to wrap it. Remember, they play all their entire division schedule in the second half of the year. Gotta win against New England.
Gotta go into that stretch at five and four. This is absolutely out of everything I just said, the most winnable game left on their screen. With all due respect to Seattle, we'll see how they're playing in week 17. That's the final Thursday night of the season.
Um, my goodness gracious. You know, that is definitely a, um, a witch's brew if you lose to New England. For sure. I wouldn't even suspect that they need a win. I think their fans want, they want a butt kicking, right? And they should at home, like you said, for the first time soldier. I mean, those fans are going to be just hungry.
They're going to be hungry. Yeah. Yeah. They haven't seen the bears in a month. Yeah. So that's, that's our conversation of must-win teams.
Um, gents. Warren Sapp always said winning teams, there's, you got to pack your defense. Travel.
To travel. When on the road, pack your defense. And we are going to take a similar axiom in order to win on the road. Pack your power rankings presented by BMW rankings.
Presented by BMW. Let's go everybody. Power rankings on the road. That's how you win. You pack your power rankings.
When you go to Germany, here we go. We're on my top 10 going into week number 10 starting with number 10 down five spots. I'm keeping the Green Bay Packers on my power rankings list. I understand they didn't look good at home against the Detroit lions. They haven't looked good at home against the Detroit lions since 2021 guys. It is just been a tough stretch in Lambeau field for Green Bay when the lions come to town. That said, I still like them.
I still can't quit them. I still think that they're going to be able to find out Jordan loves health. Um, he can come back from his bye week and week 10, hopefully a little more healthy, but we'll find out, uh, with the, uh, Jordan loves health, willing that he does have another nice November, December, January run left in him.
I'm going to, I'm going to still trust that process defensively. They are a better team than they have been in recent years. That run game is still packed, uh, for an offense. That's also got all those young receivers coming into the fold. I'm still keeping them in my top 10, although they're down five spots up one spot, the ninth ranked team of my power rankings are your NFC South leading Atlanta Falcons. I really like what this team is doing. They are nine on this list. What do you think?
What do they have to do? Uh, keep winning. Um, and, and, you know, there's six and three. I'm still going to take them, uh, as a top 10, but I still need to see a little bit more for them to move up the power rankings and you'll, you'll see where I rank every, by the way, just let me finish up my goodness. Railbird heckling travel number eight on this list up one spot after winning and ending their two game losing streak. I'm still putting the Vikings above the Falcons right here.
I still do like the Minnesota Vikings. I understand Kurt cousins is out playing Sam Darnold. I understand that number 18 on your screen, not seen enough of them. I'm going to be very honest with you. A little bit of that is a fantasy, uh, bitching mode, but, uh, but honestly the guy keeps catching a pass is in the middle of them. What we're, we're going to, we're, we're, we're baking a month cake.
You're like, what are we doing here? Like keep throwing it to 18 until, until they prove you can, he could be covered, but defensively, that was a nice bounce back game for the Minnesota Vikings who are now, um, uh, at the, uh, Jacksonville Jaguars this week and have the Tennessee Titans after them. They got a nice soft part of the schedule. I think they're going to make some hay on number seven.
They're back on the list. I'm putting the Philadelphia Eagles right here. They're six and two Jalen hurts has been lights out since his, uh, his, uh, coach, um, shaved his hair.
Like he's private pile from full metal jacket and the Saquon Barkley lead backwards, man is just an absolute perfect snapshot of his incredible talents and physical talents and everything that he is bringing to bear for this Philadelphia Eagles team that does appear to be getting better on defense a little bit here weekend and week out, just tightening that bolt right there. They're seventh on my power rankings list. Number six, rounding out the bottom five of my power rankings up two spots, your AFC North leading Pittsburgh Steelers are sitting right there for me up two spots. And I do like the addition of Mike Williams. And I do like what they are doing, um, on, on, uh, on offense with Russell Wilson.
Let's see what they've got going on here. Um, and the Pittsburgh Steelers just getting better, making some moves at the trade deadline. They're taking on the Washington commanders who are number five on my list. They are a top five team right now. Jayden Daniels playing like an MVP.
The defense is playing lights out the run game. Sometimes Brian Robinson Jr. It's his day next day. It's Austin Eckler next day.
It's Chris Rodriguez. You know, I mean, whose day is it? And, and, and it seems to be Terry McLaurin's day every day these days. Um, they are top five team for sure. Now, number four on the list. I understand they're not currently in first place, and this is an advanced Thursday night game. I'm putting the Baltimore Ravens fourth on this list.
No change. They stay like a before, after they just dominated the Denver Broncos. Number three on this list, the Buffalo Bills stay right where they are staying like a before, no change for them. After they took care of business against a very plucky Miami team, they were getting that nice 61 yarder for Tyler Bass to win it. It's just, um, Josh Allen's world mostly, but certainly when he's taking on the Miami Dolphins, number two and number one in the list, it's just the same old argument.
What are you going to do? The Lions seem to be playing the best football in the NFL over the last month and a half consistently. They're killing everybody. Jared Goff starts the game 11 for 11, 12 for 12, 13 for 13, 18 for 18. The run game's on fire. Aidan Hutchinson's out and they're still sacking people and defensively they're playing terrific and they're just eviscerating everybody in their path and putting everybody in the fetal position, calling for their mothers. But the Kansas City Chiefs are still the two-time defending Super Bowl champions who haven't lost a game and they just keep doing whatever they need to do. I know I say the same thing week in and week out, snap to snap, quarter to quarter, whatever they need to do, they do in order to win a game, whether it's, um, DeAndre Hopkins coming up with two touchdowns and Kareem Hunt doing nothing, uh, through the first three and a half quarters and then winding up with a hundred yards anyway, or it's defensively coming up with a big play, or if it's Samajay Piran catching a touchdown pass from Magic Mahomes doing some of his magic while he's also suffering an ankle injury in the process that puts him down on the ground.
They're doing whatever they need to do. And those are my power rankings topped by the Kansas City Chiefs presented by BMW. Off the list are the Houston Texans.
For the first time all year, I just couldn't keep them on it. Those are my week 10 power rankings presented by BMW. Unleash your electric side with BMW's all electric lineup with a legacy of dynamic performance and engineering that pushes the limits.

Kurt! You've come a long way since that little podcast. Thank you.
It's pretty sweet all the way in Germany. I appreciate you pointing that out and I am thrilled to have you point that out. I couldn't be happier to have you here. You and I are about to call this game. Yeah. But look and you just you just came is this is this your plane attire? This was my plane attire sorry so I didn't I didn't dress up for you. No no that's fine but I just want to make sure that you literally just got off a plane.
Just got off the plane. That's friendship. That is yeah right. I mean honestly would you get off a plane and just would you get off straight off a plane and do something for me? Yeah of course. Yeah absolutely. But you know how that works it's probably better to come right off the plane because if you get to the hotel for a little while too comfortable I may not show up so it probably works out better this way. Pretty much.
Yeah. Do you sleep on planes? Are you a plane sleeper? I actually slept almost the whole trip. I woke up and I flipped on the TV and I'm like gosh how many hours left and it said two hours left so I'm like great get a little work done watch a movie and and we're crashed it was great. I just think you know athletes people who have professionally played you you're you're professional plane sleepers. Yes I I always tell my wife if I couldn't sleep on a plane I couldn't do what I do as much traveling as as I do so I'm fortunate with that sometimes before we even take off I'm crashed over there when my wife's watching a show. I once watched Terrell Davis sitting upright in a chair we traveled together to a game in Denver and I watched him take a blanket throw it over his head and be out within two minutes like literally sat in the chair blanket overhead asleep.
Done. That was impressive. That's like some Navy Seal stuff. I'm serious.
It was truly unbelievable and then and then of course speaking of you know uh like the Air Force he then he passed out on a plane. You guys know that right. I'm gonna say we show that every opportunity we can get so I I know you've had to have seen that at one point. That is the dulcet tones of Kurt Warner here on the Rich Eisen Show radio network. I'm sitting at the Rich Eisen Show desk furnished by Grainger with supplies and solutions for every industry.
Grainger has the right product for you. Call clickgrainger.com or just stop by as my hall of fame friend and my compadre in the booth for this game here in Germany on NFL network that airs Sunday 9 30 a.m eastern from Allianz Arena right here in Munich. Kurt Warner is here on the program. Fresh off a plane and this is this is awesome. I mean honestly you just get a general sense of just how special it is clearly when you step off a plane internationally talking about we're going to be talking football in that arena coming up on Sunday. Well I mean you know we we love doing games period. Doesn't matter where it's at but it always does have a special feel when we come over here having called the game here a couple years ago and just remembering that experience as a whole and the singing and the way the audience was in in it and just understanding the game. You know sometimes you come over and especially in the early years where you're like all right how much do they understand the game. Following that game when we were here in Munich you're like man these guys know exactly what's going on.
They're cheering at the right time that you know they're a fan base. That time it was the Seattle Seahawks so I'm excited. I'm excited to get back in the booth with you. You know it just gets better every time we get a chance to do something together and excited to sit down with some of the players on these teams like a Bryce Young and kind of find out where he's at at this point after everything that's transpired over the last couple years.
Yeah and we're going to be chatting with him on Friday. We're chatting with the Giants on Saturday prior to the broadcast on Sunday and you know the one of the biggest first early season September shocks was Bryce Young being benched after just two games going 0 and 2 and then he gets back in because Andy Dalton gets into a minor car accident. I guess it's only minor when it happens to somebody else but you know he hurts his hand but this one is a start for Bryce Young for a third straight time but the last two were according to Dave Canales who we're going to also be talking to Friday earned. He has earned it.
Have you seen an ascension here? Yeah yeah he actually has looked better. He's looked more comfortable. His timing has been a lot better the last couple weeks so I'm excited to sit down with him and what happened you know because I know we all sit in the media or we sit back and when he was benched and everybody's like what are we doing you know it's a year and two games and he didn't really get a shot. I often think a lot of these guys even if they're high picks are put in too soon and they need that moment to kind of step back and reflect on the situation and get away from the pressure and then be able to step back in in a different mode and I feel like that's where he's at and sometimes you know when you're thrown right in there you don't get the opportunity to really take in what it means to be an NFL quarterback.
You're just trying to survive. I say that all the time is that you throw young guys in they're not ready they're just playing to survive and what I mean by that is go out there do whatever you've got right now to try to win a football game or to try to have success without truly knowing what it takes to be an NFL quarterback and so we've seen Anthony Richardson get benched by Indianapolis another guy that I don't think is ready and so I think there are so many benefits from waiting your turn waiting until you're ready or in a situation like this being able to have that taken off your plate. I mean we did the game in London a few weeks back and we were talking to Sam Darnold and that's exactly what he said was the pressure of being a high pick and in New York and and what that meant and when he finally got to San Francisco and and was actually put on the bench there and was a backup and he's like I finally got to see this from a different perspective and now he's having an incredible year in Minnesota and so I just think there's there's so many benefits to that and there's so much you know if you look at it the right way it can be a blessing for some of these young guys especially in the early stages to step back from all of that and get a chance to learn settle in and then maybe next time around you know you're in a better position like it at least appears that Bryce Young is. And then the last international game we did was Bears versus Jaguars we saw Caleb Williams perform really well in the final three quarters of that game against Jacksonville we met with DJ Moore the day before and he says the wi-fi is connected I don't know if the Bears have that plan where you know parents can switch off the wi-fi with just to press the button on their phone because it sure looks like somebody did that.
Yeah well Jayden Daniels I think did that. Well honestly do you think do you think that that the that Hail Mary is still lingering here for the Bears that it's left a mark that's more than just one moment in time? I think it can you know we talk in this business and we throw around the cliche all the time it one game at a time you know one one one week at a time one play at a time all of that stuff but it's not always as easy to do you know we used to say that you know played in a couple Super Bowls and when you lose the Super Bowl you know everybody wants to say oh it's a new season that doesn't have anything to do with it but sometimes that hangs with you and the same thing can happen in the course of a game you can throw an interception on a play and everybody's like oh he gets one snap and clear you made a mistake now you have to move on but then you call that play or you see that defense again and now that comes back into your mind so you have to have a short memory in this business but it's not as easy as us just saying okay that game's over and done with because you know what you see with Chicago is they were in great shape I think they were four and two going into that game. Four touchdowns in that game as well and we just played a soundbite of Caleb Williams talking about needing to get on the same page again with DJ Moore who strolled off the field in the middle of a play last week in Arizona I don't know if you've ever seen anything like that before and it sounds like they're not connected something's up. Exactly and you wonder how much that does play a factor because they were playing well you're feeling really good about where your team is and then you have something like that with within the locker room because we all know what transpired there defensively you lose this game you know who takes accountability you want your coach to come out and like and now you're sitting there going oh my gosh we gave one away that we should have had and now you go into the next one and the last one's still on your mind and you know we all saw it they didn't play very well on either side of the ball against Arizona and so now you wonder can you stop that ball from rolling downhill and as crazy as it sounds yes one play you know one bad loss can stick with the team and can negatively affect them for the long term. Kurt Warner here on the Rich Eisen show we are in Munich Germany I can't believe it's so pretty cool it's so cool I'm surrounded by some incredible cars and just a great scene here right here on the Rich Eisen show so I'm gonna do um your favorite thing which is ask you a sports talk radio question all right you love this sort of I mean you knew it was coming Kurt I know it had to come at some point no there's invariably there are questions asked of Kurt and the answer is always going to be like how do how should I know right now right why are you asking me this question right now I don't know as much as you do I mean uh other than the fact that I watch film all the time in your hall of fame or so yeah I just gave my power rankings list okay okay and I go back and forth here you know Chiefs are undefeated Lions have one loss but they are playing they're eviscerating everybody and it seems like the Chiefs are doing this that the other thing and getting through best team in football Lions or Chiefs you just saw the Chiefs on Monday night on western one radio all right what do you think I'm gonna go Chiefs and it's solely because I mean you look at both teams like I love the Lions offense and maybe the best offense in football right now still have a lot of questions about their defense so I look at it and go okay if these two teams were to match up who do I like in that matchup and it would be a great battle between the Lions offense and the Chiefs defense I love the Chiefs defense I think it's the best defense in the league and so then you flip it on the other side and even though the Chiefs offense hasn't been explosive it's fun to watch Patrick Mahomes every time out because you may not appreciate it if you don't really know what you're watching but when you know what you're watching you appreciate the fact that he just makes the right play in the moment almost every time and that may just be a check down it may be him buying some extra time like we saw on Monday night buying some extra time going out and then a little flip over the top for the touchdown suffering an ankle injury that had him prone like two seconds after flipping that ball exactly or San Francisco remember the play he's running out of the pocket and goes to the sideline all of a sudden he stops on the sideline a guy runs by him and he runs for 40 like he makes those kind of plays routinely in every single game and so where we see this offense and say oh this offense isn't great I think he makes the offense great and not just because of you know the incredible arm or the incredible throws that he makes but it's how he plays in the moment and it's just like we all knew when the coin toss said Chiefs get the ball we all knew they were going to go down and score like you just know and it didn't have to look pretty you just knew he was going to make the right play all the way down the field they were going to finish this game and so because of that against the Lions defense I would give the edge to you know to the Chiefs in that matchup as much as I like what the Lions are doing so you you you don't give them the ball first in the Super Bowl over time you lose yeah you give them the ball first in regular season over time you lose yeah I mean that's that's the sort of situational it is all that that you that you see from them and so I appreciate your answer because that matches up with what I said okay nice and that makes me feel really good oh you know it makes me feel really good about anybody disagree does anybody go Lions oh yeah absolutely you would definitely go absolutely Lions if they played in the Super Bowl the Lions are more physical than than the Chiefs defense I don't know about that Baker put up some points no I mean Baker did put up some points and then yeah I thought that was one of the worst games their defense had played yeah but normally their defense is really physical inside and outside I mean I think that would be a great matchup between between both of them and that's why I lean to the other side and go where would you where would you put your money and I'm gonna put my money on 15 always that yeah that's pretty much 15 is that man as long as he's got two working legs and they only have to work well as we saw but without that dynamic pass rusher I mean Aiden Hutchinson changes right everything they did get Zadiria they did and I love Zadirias but again I he's not Aiden right now and so that's another thing when you got Patrick Mahomes you have to make sure he stays in that pocket and beats you with those guys throwing the football and if you can't do that that's where he's been the difference maker and surprised DeAndre Hopkins just needed one you know home game to start getting on the same if you will page with him with Mahomes I mean that was that was fun to watch I mean that that's exciting when you make a move like that and he shows up in that manner and and you know even the one play that special throw by Patrick into three guys and DeAndre going up and getting it now it's back to that mode where it's like oh I can do that with him like now we've got that guy where I don't have to make the perfect throw every time so if DeAndre Hopkins can be that guy yeah I I like the Chiefs yeah I I like the Chiefs all right another sports talk radio question since that went so well that went better than you thought it was good when I first set it up that way I got to share a little analysis to go with it so I can do that exactly that I mean I'm not just you know I appreciate that any sports talk radio host wasn't just give me your top five thank you um we've got Kirk do you have a top five I probably would but I don't think from those terms so I would have to think about it he would have to think and the man just he's jet lagged just like I am all right I did sleep I feel pretty good right now Kurt Warner feeling good right here on the rich eyes and showing me Kurt from Iowa calling in so um so you you we have the Lions taking on the Texans on Sunday night and um CJ Stroud has not played as well this year as he did last year when he was a unicorn second overall rookie choice and you were talking about MVP for him right is Jayden Daniels having a better second overall drafted rookie year than CJ Stroud last year Kurt Warner oh that's a great question thank you yeah baby yeah baby when you get it that's a great question what do you got that's a good I mean they are so comparable in so many different ways you know the thing I love so much about CJ last year was I mean a his ability to process information but b how technically sound he was you know in terms of throwing the football and you come to Jayden Daniels this year and you could say those exact two things that he's processing information really well and the opposite you know both of them are protecting the ball really well you know the difference between the two in that regard was CJ did it more inside the pocket what I really have enjoyed watching with Jayden Daniels is that you know there's times that he doesn't see it and most quarterbacks that don't have his ability when they don't see it they got to try to make it happen he is so good at when he doesn't see it saying I'm not going to force it I'm just going to go and create some other opportunity whether it's a three-yard run or or a big play with my legs so that's been really impressive and I don't know if it's recency bias but I would probably lean towards Jayden Daniels at this point and again one thing we have to remember is you know CJ did it for for 17 games sure did and Jayden's only halfway through but I mean I think Jayden Daniels has to be in the MVP conversation right now where I don't think I don't know I guess CJ probably was at this point mostly but you were putting him in that yeah it was starting to heat up midway through the year yeah right exactly you were early on in saying that about him last year which is why I'm interested I'm right I was interested in getting your answer here in the fact you're saying Jayden Daniels yeah is only more of a you know spotlight on how much you feel about it right and and I just you know think basically when I when I see their team I would have said the Texans team last year was was better around CJ than than what I would know they can't what I expect with Jayden Daniels so I've been really really impressed yeah I think it's really a combination in Houston right now I don't think CJ's playing very well and last year one of his greatest traits was his ability to see it and get the ball out quick you know their offensive line obviously played better but I I think that helped their offensive line last year they've done some things the last few weeks scheme wise that I'm not really a fan of but but CJ's holding the ball longer and missing some things in front of him that he didn't miss last year and you know we always say you know what comes first the chicken or the egg like the issues up front is that forcing him to try to play too fast and not seeing what he needs to see but I always tell the guys I work with I tell my son this all the time is you got to trust those guys up front even when they give you no reason to trust them so even if you got hit on the last play we were talking about one snap and clear even you got hit on the last play you got to believe they're going to do their job on this play so you can read and play the game and if you don't do that and you start looking around and you start wondering or looking for a hole because you're worried about the guys up front you don't play as well as a quarterback and right now he's not playing as well as he did last year yeah and the pieces around him aren't playing as well either and you know let's take a break one more segment with you to finish the hour here if you don't mind I do want to ask you about Russ you know as he's coming off a bye he's going to be at the commanders who did add Marshawn Lattimore that's a fascinating game for me Niners are coming off the buy so I want to hit you on a couple other items before he sends you on the rest just stick your logo right on the side yeah why not billboard on top of it but that thing is sweet i don't know is this the right time i should mention that whoever does the best guest spot here on the rich isaac gets the car yeah the brand new car what that's what i'll stay all day take up the whole day now suddenly you're just now you're banging out ask me more questions whatever you want i am all in what did you say you you looked up the numbers of jayden daniels yes i was looking at the numbers comparing the two it's a similar second overall pick they're pretty close at this point at the nine this at the nine game mark so last year cj stroud the texans were five and four but he had 15 touchdowns they also started all in two and only two interceptions and he'd been sacked what did i say 19 times uh jayden daniels so far he has nine touchdowns but only two interceptions he has four rushing touchdowns very similar passer ratings they're pretty even players through the first nine games but the accuracy is all it's like you i mean this guy's like 80 85 percent i mean it's crazy but but i mean again i talk about technique all the time is that technique no matter who you are in the league it drives your ability to be accurate with the football both of those guys play with really really good physical technique on top of everything they do well mentally and and it's a big reason why they they throw so well well kurt warner by using uh the word drives in that answer car's yours hey well done what contest is over brand new car all right i gotta come all the way to germany for this what movie did you watch on the plane great question that's a great question you don't remember i don't um because it wasn't like a famous movie it had sean penn and two enthusiastic thumbs down no no it was actually a good movie but he was actually just driving a gal home in a cab sean penn yeah it's the movie you watched on the plane yeah and they just they had a conversation a long conversation just about life and hey um you know i was doing some work for for ej uh okay um for your son with his game plan he's got a game tomorrow night against memphis so what time are you gonna have to stay up for that oh yeah i'll stay up i don't know what seven o'clock that vpn work there so yeah exactly i'll be watching in the middle of the night uh but see yeah doing some stuff for for him with his game plan and uh and then watching the movie over the top so but i i do not know i that's one thing i like to do when i get on uh planes though yes is i don't watch the blockbuster movies i'm trying to find these ones that i've never heard of before and throw them on are those the ones that brenda would have no interest in watching is that what you're saying too she might actually like to watch it okay but um but she usually has her own tv show so anyways i don't even know what the name of it was um but i liked it there you go two and two two middling thumbs halfway it was i it was good it was good cisco liebert and kurt warner right here on the rich eisen show i'm dating myself russell wilson um have has he turned a corner what do you think here what is he back is russ cooking is he smelting and not ready to say that he's turned a corner yet so okay huge fan of russell when he was in seattle yes when he moved to denver and they asked him to play a different way and actually see the field read the field he hasn't been as good he hasn't been able to see the field very well so now getting you know inserted in pittsburgh that's what i've kind of been watching for in these last couple games um and i'll just say that the games from that perspective have been pretty easy for him so in other words he hasn't seen a lot of coverage he hasn't had to go through and decipher a lot of reads it's been a lot of one-on-one throws um which is something that he's always been able to do i mean you give him a one-on-one situation especially on some of those deeper throws um and he's going to make those throws so it hasn't been as challenging as the last couple years in denver were in terms of how they're asking him to play so for me the verdict is still out um on if he's turned the corner and can be a different kind of quarterback but he may not have to be that kind of quarterback because pittsburgh is so good at running the football and doing the play action stuff and simplifying things on the outside which has always been where russ has been at his best that he may not have to be the quarterback they tried to make him in who or that he wanted to show people he was in denver and he can go back to being more of what he was in seattle and so far so good no doubt about it that's game against the commanders it's just going to be so much fun to see niners coming off a bye mccaffrey looks like he's going to be back in the mix um and then at some point maybe dre greenlaw can come back from that achilles pop during the the super bowl and hofanga may be um on the radar screen and they're getting healthier and getting better rams are back to 500 taking on the dolphins on monday night football to wrap up this week 10 and then of course you've got the cardinals in first place right now a game above 500 handicap this division for me who do you think has the best chance to finish up the second half of the season and win it kurt um i'm going to lean towards san francisco uh just because i've seen their guys i've seen the consistency by which they play if they get healthy um and can get back to some semblance of that uh that's the team from a consistency standpoint that that i lean towards the rams the rams to me are are up and down and all over now if you keep them in a game and you give matthew stafford the football late in the game they can beat anybody you know because they've got the playmakers if those two wide receivers are out there and their run game but more importantly matthew in that moment but he has been up and down like that game against seattle i didn't think he played i didn't think they played very well in that game they got some benefits from the turnovers and then you know seattle goes for it on fourth down and gives matthew a chance and he's going to make those plays over and over but i just don't know if i feel comfortable with their team as a whole to say they're going to be there um and i would say the same thing about the cardinals is that if they can run the football they'll have a chance because i love james connor and i love their power run game again kylar murray to me is a roller coaster ride is that some games it's like wow like can we just get that every week and then there's other games where he's he's you know it's hard to even find him you know and making plays and then their defense has kind of been the same way a roller coaster ride so just from that standpoint and it probably has nothing to do with what san francisco has really done this year as much as knowing those names knowing they've been there getting those guys healthy i just believe there's going to be more level of consistency with the 49ers down the stretch than i can expect from those other two teams i mean kylar doesn't look like he's just running around and trying to make a play anymore right it looks to me more um what's the lack of better phrase i wouldn't say normal it just looks more more planned more and more under control more under control uh right i mean but so kind of what i see with kylar is that you know with each given play he's going to kind of pick a guy that he thinks he's going to throw it to okay and if he can throw it to that guy he's always really really good but then usually from that guy he goes to a check down more than he goes to kind of number two or number three in the progression and it's one thing that i think he does really well is that when he's not sure he's going to get you a positive play by not running around as much but no one wears check down is and complete it but in doing that what you see from this team is they throw for 140 yards a game because to me the best teams in the league you will push the ball down the field you will make the big play over and over again and you can't just settle for check downs you know more times than not in a game and that's the step that kylar needs to take if you give him his first guy open he's a gifted gifted thrower and he will make that throw but sometimes you got to go from one and get the big play at number two instead of just getting the check down because that's the difference making play that takes your team from a really good run team you know in a meddling passing team to a team that's dangerous every time you step on the field and that's the thing that's that's missing and so it's been fun to watch him make strides in different areas throughout his career that's the next step that i think he has to take kurt i will see you next uh i guess in the am when we're gonna go see the carolina panthers i'm gonna go visit bryce young and dave canalis and then on saturday we got the giants and then on sunday we've got the game you are the man kurt warner our pro football hall of famer to wrap up our number two of day number one here in munich we're still here on the roku sports channel so you watched a movie you don't remember the name of um and you said brenda's got her own tv tv shows so she watches tv shows that she knows you have no interest in is that what it is she just knows i have no time to watch them okay she wants me so in the off season we try to to grab a show that that we'll watch together what's the last one that you did what is that it's a great question oh gosh come on man i know you're you're killing me like i'm in football mode right now what is the last series i'm trying to drill down from all 22 to all one what is it watched house of dragons house of dragons i like the off season the second season or the first um but he's like i was told there'd be no math i guess it was the second season we're following along so we've done okay you like that stuff we've done game of thrones and house of dragons uh she wants me to watch peaky blinders yes with her do it uh so i just started the beginning and and then she loves it and so she went all the way through but it was right at the beginning of the season so my suggestion to you so i miss out but she likes that one my suggestion to you before watching the first episode have you watched an episode of peaky borders and i have not oh put the subtitles okay yeah oh yeah she told me that to start big yeah even though they are talking english trust me they are she loves tom hardy and so it's great when he comes into it and she's like but you're gonna have trouble understanding what what they're saying so okay so she did already tell me that but so yeah so she's she's got a whole bunch of them and she always wants like hey can we start this and then i miss the first episode and she runs through the whole thing and then she's like oh i'll come back and watch it with you some other time keeping up with the warner's everybody to wrap up our number two kurt the movie the
