Tom Pelissero in for Rich once again on what ended up being we were going to do overreaction Monday on a Tuesday. This is kind of the ultimate overreaction Monday on a Tuesday show that we certainly can debate whether this was an overreaction or not by Woody Johnson. To fire Robert Saleh on a Tuesday after and it's a rarity he did his Monday press conference as if nothing was changing. Is Mike Tomlin also going to be an overreaction Monday on a Tuesday by making a quarterback change? Mike Tomlin with his normal meeting with reporters on Tuesday.

He's a big Tuesday guy. Almost every coach in the NFL does their day after presser. The day after the game Tomlin waits till Tuesday.

It's allowed. Here's what he had to say about Russell Wilson this week. Tomorrow will be the first Wednesday that he'll be a scheduled full participant. We'll see where that leads us. He's at the point of health now where we can work on a Wednesday without restrictions and so we'll do so. He'll get reps with the second unit as to not disrupt justice preparation and then we'll see where all of that leads us as we push through the week. Reps with the second unit okay for Russell Wilson which to me after five weeks of Mike Tomlin dancing all around the idea of whether or not he's actually going to name a QB one this is the closest you've got to right now Russell Wilson's the starting quarterback. Russ is going to fully participate. He has been ramping up now a full participant and he's taken the number two reps behind Justin Fields because they don't want to disrupt the preparation. Now could this end up being a quarterback competition of sorts?

Anything's possible. They're going up against a Raiders team this week that also doesn't have a plan for their quarterback. At least they didn't as of an hour ago. They're still trying to figure out do they start Gardner Minshew or do they start Aiden O'Connell. I'm not sure that matters as much or makes as much of a difference as Russell Wilson versus Justin Fields but I believe that there was a real possibility that Mike Tomlin was going to come up today and just say hey I said Russell's the starter back in camp once he's healthy he's healthy he's a starter.

This edge is on the opposite way if anything right now and so we shall see as Tomlin always says the preparation is our guide we will see what the preparation looks like through the course of the week here. Yep. I'm gonna say something totally insane and you say overreaction or you know what I'm kind of buying that. All right bring it on. You ready? First up the Jets need to hire Bill Belichick.

Right now. Overreaction in part because I do not foresee Bill Belichick under any circumstance taking an interim job this season. It's not in the fabric of who he is as a coach. There are cultural things, operational things he would want to get in place.

It's not just plop them in and he thinks he's going to go out. Now Bill's very confident. It's not that he doesn't think he can go out and win some games.

It's not it would not be set up the way that Bill would want it to. So should the Jets pursue him after the season there's a lot of history there Brockman as you know. I'm not sure that Bill would be hired as the HC of the NYJ again. There are a lot of teams though they'll be looking at different options here. I don't foresee that with Bill Belichick but there'll be six, seven, eight jobs that are open here.

He's going to be a candidate for at least one of them. I can say that with relative confidence because he continues to prepare as if he's going to coach in 2025. It's kind of interesting yesterday we were talking about just hot seats and like what coaches might be you know starting to simmer underneath uh you know the bottom a little bit and now suddenly I didn't think that there were any that right exactly exactly and you kind of tease it at the end of last hour like now do some of these owners look around and go oh wow Woody made a move like we can make a move now like what if what if the Saints start losing now does Dennis Allen suddenly uh is he in trouble? Probably not just because they've never made Gail Benson's never had to make any type of major move I mean Woody's fired people but he's never fired in season no he's had plenty of opportunities to fire people Gail Benson really hasn't yeah she took over for her late husband Tom Benson and it's more or less I mean Sean obviously leaving that was one thing and then the trade that was executed but like they've never really had uh Mickey Loomis has been there he's one of the longest tenured GMs that would be something different I would look at more in the places where there's a team that just has a very high frustration level where things are going badly and do any of those types of owners start to go you know what if I'm going to make a move at the end of the season why don't I just make it now try to shake it up fun all right let's stay in the AFC East bills need to acquire Devante Adams and Norris on Redick ASAP I would say they need to get another wide receiver I think that that's fairly apparent here it's also not an overreaction I don't think it's dire remember they didn't have Khalil Shakir last week he is the top receiver on the team so that was certainly a factor in that game if they could get Devante Adams I believe they would love to have Devante Adams on the team the complication is they're pretty tight up against the cap the Raiders don't want to eat money on a deal and Devante Adams doesn't really know anybody they're just all things equal if I'm Devante Adams or his agent and I'm looking at this going my contract has balloon numbers in 2025 and 2026 at 36 million plus so I'm getting cut after this year anyway or I'm getting a restructured deal with a new team what do I need to do over the next 12 weeks do I want to go play and plus playoffs go play with one of my buddies Derek Carr Rogers assuming that Derek Carr and Aaron Rogers for that matter are healthy enough to be playing for these next two weeks or do I need to just go and play with the best quarterback possible on the best team possible you can definitely make a case that's the bills yeah plus there is no Garrett Wilson that you're competing for targets on nope in Buffalo right now there may be not as even a Chris Alave or Rashid Shaheed who are going to be high volume type of players I think that Buffalo makes a ton of sense as of last night it sounded unlikely to the events of the 24 hours since changed that right they're not out I would say that the interest remains there but some things would have to change particularly the Raiders willingness to eat some money yeah Kristen for him to go the whole way across country I've been thinking about this all morning why would you leave the Raiders go to the Jets it's very collateral to me but going to Buffalo I don't know what if Josh Allen says you know what you could wear 17 I don't care you take it he won't I'll wear seven who it's a big deal well and if Devante also you know he's played in cold weather before he played for green bags he's been in snow and crappy and you're gonna get 20 targets a game you might you might feel differently at a certain age about playing in those elements as close to me man the Jets don't make sense for for Devante for now why would he want to go there there's literally one reason and it's the guy who was throwing passes last week that Devante Adams has caught a million times and the other guys are now you're stepping into us coaches got fired do you want to go through all of that again like I don't know I think the key thing for Devante again to remember is like it's a 12 game plus playoff rental with Devante Adams there's no you're tying yourself the future any of that this is you're making a bet that it's you and Aaron and that as messily as things split apart the first time remember Devante was out before Aaron yeah right Devante is the one who Aaron couldn't commit to playing again then the Packers wouldn't re-sign Devante at that time because they weren't sure how things were going to work out with Aaron they end up getting the deal done with Aaron but Devante is like the ship sailed man I told you do this deal before last season you didn't do it don't tag me take the picks and they took a first and second round pick and by the way that's all worked out pretty well yeah big time for the Packers they did the thought did cross my mind Devante Adams back to Green Bay I don't foresee it I don't think that that's realistic at this time it would be go against everything the Packers are about they don't acquire players who are 30 years old plus to take reps away from a bunch of 22, 23, 24 year old dudes. Caleb Williams guys he's coming on and the Washington football team they're who have they really played leaders in the clubhouse right now Caleb Williams coming on is going to win rookie of the year I don't think it's an overreaction to say that's possible which you said on this show two days ago that he's the slam dunk rookie of the year Jayden Daniels yeah yeah of course yeah well things have changed it's Tuesday that's the thing is you watch it again if Jayden Daniels doesn't come out and play the way that he did the first four games we're all talking about man look at Caleb coming on yeah absolutely go back through history how many quarterbacks have started I mean even Washington lost in week one lots of the bucks it wasn't a very good game but you saw Jayden week two week three week four all of a sudden start to light it up if not for that we'd be going man Caleb he's gotten yeah week one seven sacks and then the following week they lose but then since then man look at him he's getting better 106 passerating against the rams then absolutely torched the panthers at 85 qbr uh really good I don't I don't think it's impossible at all because to your point I mean look at the upcoming schedule how are these next several weeks going to impact this Washington goes to Baltimore tough this week tough so it's Jayden against Lamar Jackson yep they're then home against Carolina so you would think that's one where you're probably feasting Chicago the next two weeks home against Jacksonville you would think that that's going to be a positive for them based on how Jacksonville plays you me that's a London game and then the bye and then guess what we came they're playing each other now last year Bryce Young beat CJ Stroud so I'm not saying the head to head is going to decide this but the arrow is pointing up on Caleb Williams that shouldn't surprise anyone it was going to take some time here he's not playing perfect football but he's playing better and better the Bears are figuring out how do we gear an offense around this guy better and better Flacco just torched Jacksonville what do you think Caleb's going to do in London well in Jacksonville defense is really bad really been a lot of focus on Trevor Lawrence I think rightly so because two weeks ago they win that game over the Texans yeah if he doesn't miss too much pretty good last two weeks the defense has been consistently bad and they have they got too much talent on that side of the ball to be this bad yeah you're paying Josh Heinz Allen a ton of money and you're giving up for what 38 points last week brutal it's it's hard man like they got to overcome some things but yeah you should be able to get after these guys too I think that this is going to be fun the entire season the back and forth between those guys we don't vote on those awards I don't get to vote anymore at all because I lost my vote when I went to the NFL Network hey but there's no voting on those awards till the end of the season here let's let this thing play out huge game on Thursday guys if we just want to look ahead real quick 49ers Seahawks both teams coming off losses chance for the 49ers here guys to drop to two and four San Francisco's San Francisco's reign over the NFC is over I think it's an overreaction because they've got one of the best coaches in the NFL and Kyle Shanahan it is surprising that they have not been better this season I think on both sides of the ball they haven't had that same domination on defense and offensively we talked about it yesterday there's just there's there's something missing there your quarterback is playing so well Brock Purdy is playing so well but it just doesn't seem like all the cylinders are firing at the same time and a lot of that probably has to do with the fact that Christian McCaffrey has been a ball dominant player in that offense that's usually where it flows through now you got Jordan Mason who's doing a lot of positive things but he's still not Christian McCaffrey last week Debo being completely invisible they got to sort some things out more often than not we've seen the 49ers figure things out they've had a lot of injuries through the early portion of the season when you're roster building and playing your offense you're not thinking hey I wonder if our first round pick gets shot while shopping and misses like the first two months of the season these aren't things you're thinking of what if the running back that by all accounts the doctors are saying he's going to be back and then the Achilles starts hurting again the week before the opener he's surprised scratch and misses half the season you're not you're not thinking through that lens again I think you have to based on history have faith in Kyle Shanahan have faith in Chris Ferster the offensive line coach is really good at his job defensively obviously they've had a lot of changes I don't see Robert Sala coming back to save the 49ers and take over that defense I don't I don't see Kyle doing that to Nick Sorenson at this stage Brandon Staley's in that building as well you've got guys with strong defensive backgrounds here and I don't know that you've got a team in the NFC West where you say that team is just is taking over in other words you're asking about the NFC and I think that there are some really good teams in the NFC when you go through the Vikings are playing they're the only unbeaten team on that side the lines have looked really good the Packers have dealt with a lot in terms of the quarterback that's just in the NFC North and all those teams look pretty good the Cowboys are going to get better they're banged up right now but they found a way to grit out a game Philly should be getting Devante Smith and AJ Brownback you would really hope Philly's gonna be good Atlanta every game is heart-stopping right now right but they've gotten things done and Kirk's playing at a good level and you're starting to see those young weapons come on there's a lot of teams but I don't know do you look at one and just go that team is the dominant one in the in the conference Vikings beat the 49ers yep they did take nothing away from them I'm not ready to say it yet and I'm not ready to say there's any team in the NFC West that is going to keep the 49ers from winning that division again huge game Thursday night to kick off week six gonna be fun all right two more uh we just heard from Mike Tomlin earlier we were talking about it what's going on there quarterback situation uh just do it the Steelers should start Russell Wilson this week I don't think it's an overreaction as I suddenly my phone starts playing I got a Twitter alert from you posting a clip from Rich I did there's my voice we just got uh we just got this black and gold there we go live TV no I don't think I do not think that it's an overreaction this thing used to start Russell Wilson because if not now when now one thing I would add here is that locker room loves Justin Fields and you can see it everything I'm told is those guys are rallying around him he's a dynamic player Russ is at you know he's at an older age there's not many guys in their mid-30s on that team a lot of times we've seen this phenomenon all over the NFL for years where sometimes guys kind of start to gravitate toward that younger quarterback just because he's the one who's still at the same phase of life now Russ has also been great in the locker room from everything I've been told great in the community he's doing all those things he's got to be getting frustrated at this point he's got to be feeling like I was the starter coming out of camp we've lost two games in a row I'm healthy now you're saying I'm healthy now and I'm the two I thought this would be the week where we might get Mike Tomlin coming to the podium today and saying Russ is now healthy he's the starter and I don't think that would have been an overreaction I think that would have been a natural progression of him the only announcement he's made about the quarterback at all this entire year is Russell Wilson's our starting quarterback a few days before Russ popped the calf again and missed the first five games is it going to take Russell will excuse me Justin Fields not playing well against the Raiders the Raiders have their problems okay but they still have Max Crosby and they still have Pat Graham the D coordinator is hard to go up against there's Justin Fields need to struggle in that game and the Russ is coming off the bench do you go through this week and once again you say Russ is the three and then you give Justin Fields one more shot that by is still still a few weeks away here this is a really interesting decision for Mike Tomlin because he is going to have a situation on his hands where if Russ isn't starting if it becomes apparent Russ is now officially the number two quarterback he's going to want to go someplace else and play I don't think the Steelers would be interested in trading them they went through three quarterbacks last year on the way to the playoffs why would they trade the guy away but you open the door to some different types of things if you keep him on the bench I still believe he ends up playing at some point this year probably sooner than later before the buy or after the buy before last one there are only five teams in the NFL guys with zero or one loss okay we're talking about Kansas City one last night stat by the wild stat Houston's four and one okay Minnesota five and oh Washington four and one that's crazy Detroit on the bye last week they are three and one only one of those teams is going to make it to championship weekend in January only one of the five team name them off again Vikings Chiefs Vikings Chiefs Lions commanders Texans only one make championship weekend so you're basically what the question you're asking is is an overreaction to think none of those other that there's a bunch of those other three and two two and three teams they're all going to be better I think there's a lot of good teams at three and two right now the Ravens are sitting there at three and two Ravens are three and two and we get a surprise team like like the Broncos Atlanta Seattle Dallas Packers Green Bay Eagles I think it's an overreaction because the Chiefs have never not been there so there's your one okay there's one so basically you're asking are none of those other four gonna get in I'd say no I mean the Lions are a really good team the NFC is wide open the Vikings are five and oh the lines at three and one the commanders are the one that I think we still I mean they look really good Dan Quinn has done an unbelievable job totally changing the vibes around that building laughing stock franchise you get Jayden Daniels and you get Dan Quinn in and you flip it who's the other team the other four and one team we go to Houston Houston is the other one now I saw Houston get their doors blasted off in Minnesota yeah that was kind of surprising it was it was a surprising game where they just didn't seem to have it you know in hindsight maybe they would have covered Justin Jefferson a little differently early in the game maybe maybe you know have somebody follow them they they went in with a different approach Jefferson got on the board first and then offensively they didn't have Joe mix and they haven't had them though and they've overcome it the other two weeks Vikings are a really good team the Texans are playing really well I will say it's an overreaction to say all those four the Chiefs don't even count they're the one they're the one that's it and then there's four other teams do one of those four end up in the final four I will say yes I think it's an overreaction to say it'll just be the Chiefs that's a wrap nice job they've never not been there I get it it's the wildest run of all time you know I originally wrote that it's only a two will make it but like that's not hot hot is saying only one makes it I mean the ultimate hot would be the Chiefs don't make it and you watch them and you don't see a dominant team we didn't see a dominant team till January last year right not offensively defensively they're still really really talented they're really good does an unbelievable job the only thing that can stop the Chiefs at this point besides something happened in my homes is something happened to spags I'm talking about getting a head coaching job not like he drops dead tomorrow I'm saying the only thing would be if all of a sudden spags is gone and you you make the wrong hire or you can't keep that same he's one of the best defensive minds in the game you know that that's really the only thing that seems like it's gonna stop because they just find ways to make it work right and watching the game tj I know we've talked about this before I think watching last night is when I really began to think oh they really are the Patriots 2.0 because you look at all those years Tom didn't have superstar wide receivers it was it was David Givens and it was Dion Branch coming back after they traded him and you know they're just kind of making it work but the quarterback 15 is still there just like 12 was always there and they just figured out a way I mean Patrick Holmes had his highest passing yardage game of the year last year he had over 300 yards for the first time in a long time and the defense really dominant you saw it especially in the last drive when Derek Carr was out it's all cooking for them and I think they're only going to get better which is crazy because they're 5-0. Jake Hayner he was slinging it they didn't make any plays on the balls he threw but he was he looked he looked like he belonged put the ball on Chris Alave down the sideline on that fourth down that was nice did you run a 25-yard jump ball to a receiver in that situation I don't know I'm not calling the plays probably not look it's like I've been saying all off season when we thought can the Chiefs three-peat and what I kept saying every single time is as long as number 15 is alive and kicking how this team you've got to look at them as a favorite he threw for three yards and no touchdowns and they still handily won that game they're out there playing with people like on my flag football team for eight years old right we got a play called crisscross applesauce this is what they're out there doing Kelsey's chucking the ball to a guy flying down the sideline my homes was saying it was like he's out there playing with his kid he was annoyed by it like they're toying with people guys and everyone else like I said earlier is just in trouble well and there and there is something to be said for if other teams do those gimmicky things and a lot of times they don't work it's what a bunch of idiots is why are they calling that stuff just run a real office when Andy Reid does it you're like this is probably gonna work it's probably gonna it's it's probably gonna is anyone better yesterday they practiced this stuff yeah during the week is anyone better at laddering the laddering the football out of nowhere than Travis Kelsey no even better when Kadarius Tony what were your immediate reactions yeah i mean in a game that you normally don't get surprised by this definitely was something i was i was surprised with just in how early it was this is not a bad football team by any stretch of the imagination um you know they they played uh aaron rogers didn't play great against minnesota vikings in that defense but they made a lot of teams look pedestrian i mean you look at it you know they made life very difficult for jordan love when he came back i mean i i don't know if i don't know if cj stroud's had a worse game you know this year or last year than he had against the minnesota vikings so i mean this is a team that's really good so to be able to to judge all of that off of one performance i think it's a it's a knee-jerk reaction um i just don't you never see a team really get better uh too often when you make a coaching decision like this is just i just think it's a bit premature how does aaron rogers get going again you've you've seen him enough through the years no you never played against him literally you know he's never not a defensive player but you you've seen him at his best what what is still in there for aaron rogers i mean he's most accurate throw of the football over the course of his career um you know so what happened last week was it was a bit of abomination they just need to get back to playing you know the ball that he's capable of playing i mean they lost a tough game in the rain uh last week to the denver broncos which you know really hurt you know you would love to see him win that game but it was a sloppy game they're they haven't gotten like just blown out right they haven't gotten beat you know heavily um in any game they're in there in the competition he has two really good receivers bryce hall is fabulous backs i mean i i just think that they just need to be able to put it together uh and aaron just needs to get a little bit more comfortable i know um you know he missed all the last season and so he's just kind of working off the rush from from taking a year off and i think i think he still has a lot of juice in the tank personally you mentioned you know the vikings have taken it to everybody i was at that game against the texans and you would think that they were playing one of the worst teams in the league not a team that looks like they're an afc contender you're a former vikings ball boy as well what is your level of surprise at the vikings being one of the the two two remaining unbeaten teams along with the two-time defending chiefs see i'm gonna tell you the truth if you would have asked me earlier i i would have never guessed this you know i'd you look at the guys that they lost you know on the offensive side you look at the guys they lost on the defensive side you look at uh donald's history and the places that he's done he's never had this type of level of success um like there were so many indicators that that would say that the vikings wouldn't be in this position plus in my opinion they're in the they're in the strongest division and in football i mean you look at the factors what they were accomplished last year you look at the destroyed logic they were able to accomplish you look at all the additions that the chicago bears have made offensively defensively with the weapons they had so you know beginning the year i thought they would be the fourth best team in the division and lo and behold they're the best team but you know we've only gotten through five games and this is this is a marathon uh not a sprint but right now they definitely look like the best team in the nfc it's one of the other big news items that's tied to the jets as well devante adams going through a situation where obviously he's gone to the raiders and said he prefers to move on he would love to be back with one of his buddies aaron rogers or derek carr although carr got beat up and aaron rogers head coach was fired a couple of hours ago here knowing devante seeing him play throughout the course of his career where do you where do you think is the best spot what do you make of this this situation overall yeah i think when you when you're 30 years old i mean you kind of assessing your career you've you made a bunch of money you've you've uh achieved like all of the personal accolades you know i think you're definitely in the conversation to be a hall of famer um you know you want to be able to go out and have a chance to win and if i'm looking around the landscape of places where i could be a you know a really good player and a great system you got to look at the buffalo bills i mean they they played against eastern texans and that first half josh just couldn't find continuity with anybody he's had that safety blanket is to find diggs for a long time they've had the the best you know in terms of quarterback to receiver numbers over the last five years than anybody in the game um like he needs that dominant guy again and devante will provide that from day one and i there's another team that people probably wouldn't say because of the way they're constructed but the baltimore ravens man you put him on that team knowing that there's going to be eight men in the box every single snap to take lamara and king henry away and you give him one-on-one coverage like how do you uh i like that i like that that that bodes well for for them um and so you know i know he probably might not like the way that system runs but he's going to be one-on-one and have plenty of opportunities to make plays the way he's always made throughout his career so those are the two teams i was like looking at the landscape where i would where i would possibly try to position myself to get to rich said when you joined the show earlier here if he's lamar jackson this morning he's on the phone right now with devante adams going listen he got chaos in both these places you want to be just come over come over to baltimore we'll we'll find a way to get you going uh speaking of receivers obviously you played in arizona for a long time greatest player that's that's ever come through that building there's a guy now i'm not going to say he's larry fitzgerald but marvin harrison jr is something else to watch when i went through there in training camp it's just everything looks so smooth and natural with the way that his body moves obviously he's had some some remarkable highlights here when you watch marvin harrison jr what do you see i see poise i see a guy where the moments are never you know too large for him the way he runs his routes the way he approaches the game i got a chance to meet him last friday for the first time and you know it really really struck me just how how calm he was and um you know just like a very sensible person and that bodes well for you as an athlete when you're playing in the arena where things are going crazy and he's able just to be able to be calm and go through his progression so i'm really excited about him and and it's not surprising you know his father is one of the greatest players that ever played a game you know so he got a chance to see at a really young age what it's supposed to look like understanding of the game and so when he's out there making plays there's no surprises you made him for the first time last friday he's a he strikes me in my limited interaction with him as a bit of a soft-spoken type of guy like what what if anything did he want to know what did he ask larry fitzgerald no we didn't really have a chance to talk i was he came over to my son's game my son and him have actually built a relationship uh with each other you know and so it was actually my first time getting a chance to meet him we didn't have a really chance to really talk or have much of a conversation but hopefully you know down the road and off season i'll be able to talk with him but it's not much that i could ever give him in terms of advice and he's got a dad who's you know had a better career than me won a championship i mean so if he needs to get advice all you guys do is call home that is a that's a great point that is a rare type of a uh advantage tj jefferson's got one for you here hey larry how you doing brother um i'm good good bro you know you you're mentioning learning from greatness and as you know most people know maybe some don't you spend time as a ball boy for the minnesota vikings as a teenager so my question to you is you know what what did you learn from working with legends like chris carter and randy moss that helped you become the hall of famer that you are and is there any advice that you can just pass on to that young wide receiver who's going to be watching this clip today yeah i mean i learned so much tj it was it was unbelievable to be able to see the competitiveness of those great receivers and you know seeing chris carter you know will go to deep river falls and playing against the kansas city chiefs going against dale carter and james hasties and and seeing you know uh you know todd stucy blocking derek uh derek uh uh uh thomas derek thomas um and seeing big willie road blocking john randall and seeing that like just competitive energy every single day man it was just contagious and and randy moss is taking it over the top of guys like i love the competition and it really just showed me at 12 13 14 years old what's required if you want to be great like this is how you got to compete this is how you better approach the game every single day from a mental perspective um and when competition stands in front of you you got to run through it go around it um and like i just i really appreciated those experiences uh it let me learn at a young age like this is the mentality you have to have that brings me to a question i wanted to ask you larry because obviously you've got some of the most memorable catches that we've seen in the nfl all the way into a super bowl if you're thinking about the greatest catch or catches you've ever seen someone not named larry fitzgerald make who and what are those catches i would say the most iconic would probably be like david tyree you know uh when he when he pinned that ball on his head lin swans go ball back in the day the heat that he made was was unbelievable um um i would say julian edelman made a catch against atlanta falcons in that second half where the ball got tipped and he reached out and grabbed it with his with his right hand and i still don't know how he made that play um julio jones made a toe tap catch on that sideline on the third down and about well matt ryan put it at it only where he could get it and he climbed a letter and got his feet down i mean there's so many catches that i could i could think of that that come to mind santonio's catch against against us uh in the super bowl was was was crazy um like i've seen a lot of them and i mean those kind of just jump out to me top of think you are it's not going to be anything physical right so it would have to be you know a checkers maybe uh you know um tetris i'm really good at playing tetris on my phone i think i can beat most people tetris phone tetris phone is as far down brockman one thing you can beat a professional current or former professional athlete at oh man anything competitive uh anything competitive all right here we go uh driving uh being in the far left lane and needing less than a quarter mile to make the exit on the far right lane i'll beat i'm the best in the world as tj would say don't do a roller skate race any day i take them all on a roller skate race like the four wheels not roller blades not blades like because i guarantee you we got i guarantee you 98 of them cannot skate like rollerball roller skate i guarantee that's i beat them all no no what's up guy roller skating where's this occur roller skated i went two weeks ago as a matter of fact did you and my skates are on the west coast derby oh based on the revelation the roller derby i'm talking about a roller skating race but that's around a rink that's physical while you're trying to pass you guys come on let the roller skate guys when is the last time that you were out in public roller skating del two couple weeks ago i went a couple weeks ago actually where to moonlight roll around rule out moonlight rollerway in in san fernando off it's basically a valley but it had an indoor outdoor indoor indoor i stayed for a couple hours because i hadn't been on skates in a couple years but i pick it right back up because i've been skating since i was like literally five years old see the vision i had of del tufo was rolling down like santa monica no not on the beach no no no no no with the big headphones on no no no no holding the walkman and then you know i actually did that as a kid showing it all off but now it's just like ray i want to be inside on wood and you just you just you skate in the circle yeah you listen to music and skate it's fun as hell i've been doing it since i was a little kid i'm not saying i'm not trying to you know you're young here i'm just saying i'm trying to envision you doing this del tufo yeah it's very um and i'm very good at it it's the only thing physical that i physically can do del tufo is an athlete tom i'm not an athlete like i am the worst i am do we have any on your instagram or was oh and do those have 450 likes they have 453 i would i would just cover the fact that you know we we've we've mentioned before that you know you had your teeth fixed up i'd be afraid on the roller skates that i would take take a header and go down those front teeth just later to the back of the throat 12 or maybe 12 years ago when i first started skating again after a little bit of a hiatus fell the first second i got on the no way really i fell as soon as i went you don't have any skate photos in a while but in saying that went back fell almost busted my ass pardon the expression and then have not fallen again since that first time after 12 years last time you've been roller skating can't say i've roller skated in uh probably since you know like a fifth grade birthday party i had roller blades i still think i have roller blades in my garage that i have not been on in 15 years because i am deathly afraid of falling and breaking something i've never i've never i guess i broke my finger but i've never like had like a significant right injury like really break an arm break a leg break my face i can't break the face you can't break it cause a lot of problems you fall real bad roller skate i've got like so my last time roller skating was probably eight 15 16 years ago and you guys know the singer pink yeah of course so she had a birthday party at a roller skating rink and i went to it and i was just kind of like not into roller skating for fear of busting my butt and i remember she grabbed me and kind of skated me around with her a couple times around the rink and that's my last memory of see that's on brand pink having a roller skating birthday party i'm like absolutely that absolutely she parachutes down and does like all kinds of moves with the scarves and stuff like she's not afraid of having a little accident out there dubtoofo on the other hand is that on brand i'm gonna send some pictures to the back right now i i was afraid of having the accent that's why she had to guide me around the rink you know you you finding the uh the roller skates for you did you have to borrow the socks that's always that's the worst part of the world i had the socks on yeah tj name name drop but who else is at this party i'd be honestly like people that you know i can't really remember i was gonna say you can't say and then he was gonna have to leave the studio for the rest of the show i had a roommate in college or part of a uh one of those things where they call it the four mans or you got like two bedrooms and two people it was me and two of my buddies and we had to just put in for the fourth because the numbers were uneven for our friend group we got uh paired up with a guy who was a former figure roller skater so like you know what figure skating is of course sure that on roller skates the sequin shirts the jumps the the lifts the whole thing wow yeah i saw many many photos this is a verified thing that really exists did you ever go to a competition or something okay i think he was retired at that point or at least not doing it on a full-time basis there weren't a lot of a lot of figure roller skating competitions in the boston area in the early 2000s of course not it was probably hard i imagine that's a bit it's a bit more niche than you would otherwise uh be anticipating yes but again so del tufo if you really want a challenge let's find tom's old roommate and you and him can go head to head before we get out there on the roller skates and let's see you do a triple axle we were talking about like football players in general and athletes the average person getting on skates looks like a they cannot do yeah it's like a baby giraffe i watch people that think like oh they get out there and they're literally doing it like they're i right that's me on ice skates it's ice skates too i could ice skate also that's when i went back and i played in a uh one of those whatever they call them the fantasy camp things and it was like a gag because i you know i played intramural hockey back in college but i got on skates for the first time in like 15 years this is several years ago now and i felt like i was moving and then they sent me a dvd of like the jumbotron and it's me just like shuffling completely frightened that was my last time yeah cage cage wants to go like oh we're gonna roller skate you know christmas time whatever and i'm like no i'm not doing i'll walk with you on the oh we got it oh we got it by the way and i'm holding a micro i'm holding a uh selfie stick in the other hand oh geez come on i can i'm telling you guys how would you how do we find this years ago because i'm this from instagram we've got a crack staff tom did you send it or no like yeah i sent this i have a hundred of them i'm used to this is every other but you guys so no helmets no helmets no i'm not worried about that the kangol hat protects you're not i was gonna say because you're not i'm not gonna fall i mean i say that seriously i have been doing this since i was five years old my brother frank if we get to take he would call me if i were here tomorrow i would insist that del tufa bring the skates and just make his way around the room just for one second i want to see 10 laps jump on and off the golf course for tj sits and i just want to see it can you hold it together that's what i would want to see there's too many cords wires this floor is perfect in this area i can tell are you kidding me i do it in my condo because i got wood floors now you roller skate around in your condo i go right to the back your bottom neighbors hate you no i'm first i'm good oh you don't hear that on the first floor probably i hear everything my upstairs neighbors yeah i hear that when i say everything i mean ever oh oh my god they involve any roller skates in those activities tj they're doing something up there talk about robert sola out in new york more rich eisen show after this bingo
