NerdWallet Compare, Inc. NMLS 1617539. This is the Rich Eisen Show. Live from the Rich Eisen Show studio in Los Angeles. Seriously, what's it like to hand out a game ball in the AT&T Stadium? You know, nobody's really expecting you to do that right now, coach.

Yeah, well look, nobody expected us to really do anything this season. Today's guests, Bengals quarterback, Joe Burrow, commanders head coach, Dan Quinn, Fox Sports college football analyst, Bruce Feldman, host of Nothing Personal podcast, David Sampson. And now, it's Rich Eisen. That's us and me. So that's Royal Wee and Personal, just straightforward. That's where I'm starting our show today. 844204rich is the way for you to call us. You can call us about anything you want to call and talk about. We're here for it. You want to talk about our great guest list, that's great. If you want to talk about my awesome shirt, you can talk about that. You want to talk about football, anything in baseball, anything in the world, we're here for you.

It's my macro way of starting this program. 844204rich, whether you're watching us on the Roku Sports Channel Live or listening to us on this Rich Eisen show, Terrestrial Radio affiliate, Sirius XM, Odyssey, tune in our podcast. We greatly appreciate everybody taking in our podcast. Great conversation that Susie and Amy had on What the Football with Steve Young yesterday. We'll play a clip of it that's kind of clanking around right now that Steve thinks Brock Purdy should be running more and that they should give that unleashed quarterback and his massive quads a little run here, certainly with McCaffrey and now Debo out.

And we'll have that conversation later on in this program. We've got four guests. Stan Quinn of the Washington Commander is going to join us at the top of our number two. And because it will be fair and balanced, the quarterback and the commanders are trying to beat on Monday night in the final game of week number three that begins on Thursday night with the Jets and the Patriots. Joe Burrow is going to be joining us in just a few minutes time.

He was slated to join us just five minutes into the show. And we normally don't do that sort of thing. But you know what? For Joe, sure.

Why not? I'm kind of the Mike Brown of this situation. Like for everybody else, I don't do this. But for you, I will.

I'll put a name on a stadium for you. Yeah. You know what I mean? I'm like the Mike Brown here.

Why not? He's going to join us shortly. And then Bruce Feldman in studio, David Sampson, baseball world is kind of red hot right now. The American League wild card is getting a little bit tighter.

The Mets have an Acuna of their own. And so, you know, you know what I mean? So I know you do. So there's lots to talk about with David Sampson later on in this program. Good to see you there, Chris Rockman. Hey, I'm great. I'm excited to hear from Joe, my mom's favorite player.

Is that right? She loves Joe Burrow and I have no idea why. Okay. Well, he's lovable, just like Mike Del Tufo. I am. He's a lot of people's favorite personalities of this program. I don't have no idea why.

They're not lying. You might be Susie's favorite on this program. I am. Amy and Susie both.

She gets very upset. Niner fans love Joe. Love Mike. Hate me like Mike. Good to see you, TJ Jefferson. How are you? Well, you know, Rich, the swing and door to the studio, it hit me on my foot today. Here, let me take off my shoe.

It's very good. Actually, you know what? You're out of here. Yeah, you're a judge. Just be careful. Just give me it. Get out. Get out of here. They're making a Jose Altuve reference. Start the program.

Deep cut. Talk about that with David Sampson later on. We're going to put everything in a baseball bucket for David to comment on when he comes in here. And our number three. 2-0 teams. Buffalo. Pittsburgh. Houston. Kansas City. Los Angeles Chargers.

They went very radio voice there. Those are your five in the American Football Conference. Those are your five in the National Football Conference. There's not one in the Money Division.

No. There's one in the NFC North, the arguably toughest division in football coming into the season because the Packers, the Lions, who know what the Bears are going to look like. Everyone's like, forget the Vikings. Who's the only 2-0 team in that division? The Vikings.

And Sam Darnold. The NFC West. The lone 2-0 team in that division right now. Seattle Seahawks.

2-0. And the only division with multiple 2-0 teams in it. To the NFC South.

Just like we all drew it up. This league, man. This league.

Right? So you got two in the NFC South, one in the NFC West, and one in the NFC North. There's nine 2-0 teams right now. Let's remove the defending Super Bowl champs from the equation. And let's remove the Bills from the equation.

Let's do that, if you don't mind. The 2-0 team you believe in the most. Let's remove the Texans too, since you put them in the Super Bowl. I'm removing those three. I'm removing those three that lead the AFC South and the AFC East and the one that's defending two Super Bowls in a row.

So I've got the Chargers. I know this isn't very Twitter good because, you know, you can't fit four. Can't fit five. I'm gonna give you six. Yeah, we only got four.

We only got spots for four. Seattle and the Vikings. Seattle. And the Steelers. And the Chargers. Steelers.

And the two teams in the NFC South. But I think the Bucks are for real, kind of. You want to take them out? Yeah, let's take them out. All right.

They made the playoffs and won a playoff game last year. So then you've got to remove one more team. What do you got here? Let's see. Let's remove the Chargers.

Okay. Well, let's remove the Steelers because it's too much here we go on online. Give me the Saints, Chargers. Saints. Seahawks, Vikings.

Well, actually, take the Chargers out and put the Steelers in. I can't give you all the ingredients to the hot dog. You might not like it. I know. That's why we shouldn't be giving the ingredients to the hot dog out here.

This is something we should have handled before we went on the air. I like talking it out. So what is our question? The 2-0 team you believe in the most. Believe in the most. Steelers, Saints, Vikings, Seahawks.

All right. I know my vote. What's your vote? The team that has a great defense and just all of a sudden is putting up 91 points over two games. I believe in the Saints. They boat raced Dallas so much. They've converted TJ. They've converted TJ. They can play defense, right?

That was always a thing. Steelers can play defense. Saints can play defense. Yeah, you believe in that offense though? I don't know. You don't think Justin Fields can start growing into something here?

Not particularly. They're not going to start putting up 40 points a game like the Saints offense. Man, the Steelers and the Chargers this weekend are going to be just swapping paint, man. I can't wait for that game. I simply cannot wait for that game. So the 2-0 team you believe in the most. All right. 2-0 team you believe in the most.

You know what? I'm going to be a man of my word even though I picked against him last week just because I thought Denver. I'm done picking Denver. I'm off. I'm gone. It's great. Great. Smart move. All right. I'm out.

I might put my finger on the Steelers. So go and vote on that, right? Yeah. Put it up right now.

That's 2-0 team you believe in the most. So let me get the hashtag. At Rich Eisen Show. Here we go. Okay. Here we go. Hashtag. Okay.

Skol. I'm out. What's up?

Okay. Put it up there. At Rich Eisen Show to vote. Saints, Steelers, Seahawks, Vikings. You can call us too.

844-204-RICH. 2-0 team you believe in the most. Very good. And Dan Quinn is going to be joining us later on. And again, you know, we don't normally do this. Have an interview in the first segment of the show because normally, you know, this is my time, right?

This is a me time for me to opinionate and give takes that are thoughtful and thought provoking. Yeah. Right.

Of course. But when somebody like Joe Burrow says I'm available in the first segment of your show, you know what I do? Call an audible. I basically become like the Mike Brown. I'll just call this the Joe Burrow show.

Just put his name on the whole damn thing. I love it. How are you Joe Burrow? Good to see you.

Good to see you as well. We're hanging in there. I'm sure you are.

I'm sure you are. So let's just jump right into it right now. How do you assess the first two games of your season, Joe? One bad, one pretty good but not good enough. So we're getting better every day. Working to improve.

There's always room to improve after losses like that and wins. So we're in a good spot. We're happy with how practice is going. We're getting better.

So we're excited for the opportunity on Monday. And in terms of the self-scout, how are you self-scouting yourself through the first two games of the season? One bad, one pretty good but not good enough.

Just about the same. It's our team. You know, I've pulled myself to a high standard and I would say I've hit it at times and I haven't hit it at times. So we're trying to improve every day, be more consistent, and hopefully we'll get to where we want to by the end of the year. And then of course the question I'm sure you've heard from multiple people. I usually don't like asking those because I find myself unique, Joe. I'll be straight up. You know, the slow start. Can you put your finger on it?

Why it keeps happening? I think there's different factors every year. I went to it for the third straight year. We're not panicking by any means. There's a lot of football to be played but lots of room to improve at the same time.

Just like any game every year. So we're just looking to improve every day. Go out on Monday and have our best game yet. Hopefully get a win and then move on. But you feel good, right? All accounts are that you came into this season healthier and off of a more normal, for the lack of a better phrase, off-season, training camp season, OTA season than maybe you've ever had as a professional.

Yeah, I feel great. I feel good about where we're at too. We played well on Sunday, just not well enough to win the game.

We didn't make the plays down the stretch to close it out. So we will on Monday. We're excited about the opportunity. I'm feeling good, feeling better every week. So we're going to continue to get better. How much contact did you have with Jayden Daniels when he was in college, Joe?

We had some. I'll go back to the spring games sometimes and see him and talk to him. I've seen him a couple of times after that. I think he's got a chance to be really good. He's obviously a dynamic player and fun to watch.

So as long as he keeps improving, he'll get to where he wants to get. Did you vote for him for the Heisman? I did. Okay.

So that awkwardness won't, that doesn't exist, right? You played against him, but you voted for him for the Heisman. Yeah, I believe I did. It's tough to remember that far back then, but I'm sure I did.

Yes, a lot has happened between now and back then, clearly. So for you, how are you better than even last year, even before you got hurt? How are you a different quarterback right now, Joe? Well, I think before I got hurt last year, I was playing my best ball.

And so we're getting back. There's always an adjustment period when you're coming back from a season-ending injury. You haven't played football in a while.

You get the reps in training camp, but live bullets is a little different. So I'm really happy with how I improved from week one to week two. I'm looking to do that again week two to week three.

I'm confident in our scheme, confident in the game plan. So I'm just looking to improve every day. And if I do that, I'm going to continue to get better. Now, I know you're known for your cool, you know, Joe Burr, Joe Cool, and what have you, but do you beat yourself up mentally?

Yeah, of course. I'm always looking for where I can get an edge, where I can improve myself. I expect to play close to perfect football. And when I don't, I'm pretty hard on myself. Hard on myself and always looking for little areas to improve my game.

And, you know, I would say Sunday was not perfect by any means. So that's always what I'm striving for. I'm striving for perfection.

And, you know, if you make little increments towards that goal, then, you know, that's a recipe for success. Well, who do you speak to when you beat yourself up? Just yourself? Who's in yourself?

That's it? Yeah, I talk to myself. And, you know, I'm definitely harder on myself than anybody else is around me. And I think that's how you want to play the game and how you want to handle yourself for constant improvement.

Joe Burrow here on the Rich Eisen show getting set to take on the Washington commanders. How much do you think of the Super Bowl from a couple years ago, Joe? More often than I would like to. It's obviously, you know, you try to put it behind you, but when you lose a big game like that, you think about it here and there. But I wouldn't say I think about it much during the season. It's more a lost season thought process. Just what, driving around or just it just pops in your head or? During the off season, you get a lot of time to yourself. And, you know, you can only think about some things so many times and random things pop in your head.

And unfortunately, that's one of them. Who do you talk to just from the quarterback world? You reach out to anybody, Brady, Peyton Manning, any of these guys who you strive to have a similar resume to when you're all said and done?

Those guys? Whenever I run into any of those guys, I try to ask questions about their process, about how they handle things. You know, I talked to Tom several times this off season. He's a good resource for me.

Peyton is, you know, I've known Peyton since I was, after my first year at LSU. And, you know, he's helped me a lot along the road. And so whenever I get a chance to, you know, pick those guys' brains about how they operated, what their process was, you know, how they thought about certain things, maybe it's not even football, maybe it's off the field, you know, how they handle certain things. That's always an opportunity that I'm going to take advantage of. Well, if you wouldn't mind sharing, what's the best piece of advice Tom Brady's given you? You know, we talk a lot about how to handle off the field situations this year.

I'll keep that between us. But he gave me some really good insight about how to handle certain things outside the facility and how to handle those to best facilitate your success. You're talking about just personal stuff is what you're saying. Just how you handle fame and things like that or?

Yes. Fame, friends, family, relationships. You know, I think that's one of the harder parts of doing this is how do you handle those situations? And so whenever I can pick somebody's brain about how they handled it, because I think Tom handled it pretty dang well. Whenever I'm in one of those situations, I try to ask questions and try to take anything that I can to help myself. So and then comes moments where you pick up a water bottle in a certain way and that sparks conversation that you can't control. That sort of stuff, Joe?

That sort of stuff? Yeah, I would say that kind of stuff has never really bothered me. I know how I feel.

I know what I'm doing. I think that stuff is more funny. I didn't even know about it until somebody asked me about it in a press conference. I was like, did I pick it up weird or what exactly happened?

Because I hadn't seen the clip. But yeah, sometimes that kind of stuff. Yeah. And this week, it was how quickly you and Mahomes hugged it out after the game.

I don't know if you heard that. You guys just quickly just moved on and people went, oh, they got problems with each other? Well, we had talked to each other before the game, after a game like that.

Not much to say. So I got a lot of respect for him. I think he has a lot of respect for me. Now, those are sometimes you talk to guys, sometimes you don't. We had seen each other before the game, so no big deal.

Okay, no big deal. And do you feel like you perform well in Arrowhead, different than others and better than others? Because it certainly seems like you have a certain coolness about you and able to just dial your game up while dialing down the noise, Joe. Do you recognize that?

Because the rest of us kind of do. I think that I've always felt confident in myself in big time situations like that and high pressure environments. I know the work that I put myself in position to be successful in those kind of situations. And so I'm always really confident in myself, always confident in my guys. And I feel like we can go get the job done in any situation against anybody, no matter what the score is.

So I realize those situations and those opportunities, because that's where you really make a name for yourself. Joe Burrow, a couple minutes left with the quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals. In terms of your confidence level, it's obvious on the field. And then for me personally, it was obvious this past summer in Paris, Joe, and I'm not referring to the Olympics. I'm referring to the walk.

Maybe in 2028. Well, no, I'm not talking about any flag football or anything like that. I'm talking about walking with Justin Jefferson and the choice that you were given and you agreed to, which is the hole in the back of the suit here. Can you walk me through what happened and the thought process and everything here, Joe Burrow? Well, they gave me the option to wear a shirt under it or no shirt under it. And I thought no shirt under it looked better than the shirt under it. And they agreed. And so we went with that. And you showing off the back and you didn't have any concerns of anything like that, Joe? Nothing on that front?

No, I wouldn't say that. It was hot. It was a nice little breeze as opposed to sweating more under the jacket. Justin liked it. And so that was all I needed.

Okay, because we had Justin here. And I think he might have said that to you just to see you go through with walking with a hole in the back of your jacket and shirt, Joe, to be very honest. Well, he got me to do it.

So good on him. Did he not be given? He wasn't given that option that day? I don't think he had a shirt on under his either.

That's true. Didn't have the back cut out of his, but he was shirtless. Okay. If I told you back in the day, you know, in Athens, Joe, that you'd be walking, you know, at a, what is that Prada? Was it Prada? Prada? Prada? That was that put you in? That was Vogue show. My bad. That you'd be walking in a Vogue show in Paris.

And I believe the Place Vendome, if I'm just going to show off my knowledge of the city. Yeah. What would you have said to that individual? I would probably when I was little, I would have told you there's no chance that I would ever do that in a million years. And I definitely would have thought you were crazy.

You know, Athens is a very small, tight knit community. And I wouldn't exactly say that dreams like that are super available in a situation like that. So definitely come a long way from that. Joe, I really appreciate the time, sir. Love watching you play. You're the favorites of many people, including my guy, Chris Brockman's mom.

Yeah. My mom loves you, Joe. She texts me every Sunday during the Bengals games how much she loves you.

It's really funny. She's not from Ohio. She's not from Ohio at all either, Joe.

Not at all. Why does she like me so much? Great question. I don't know.

She's on her way here to visit this weekend. I'll ask her. You've never asked?

I've never really asked. She just loves watching you play. I think she probably likes the way you look, I'm guessing. Likes my hair, maybe? Probably likes your hair, since I don't have any.

But yeah, it's very fun. It's very nice. And how long are we sticking with the frosted look, Joe? How long are we sticking? I'm just gonna let it grow at this point and see what it looks like. What do you mean, let it grow?

What are we talking about? Well, I'm gonna get my little flip back probably a month or two when my hair grows out. I'm not gonna re-dye it or anything, so it'll just be blonde on the top. And party in the back?

Like that's what we're talking about here? No, I've never had a mullet. I don't think I would do the mullet. Okay.

It's a lot of commitment because you gotta let your hair grow out for probably a year, year and a half, and then cut it. I'm not sure I'm ready for that. What's that like, Joe? What's that like? I don't even know what's... We got the bald guys over there.

Low maintenance. Listen, again, I'm fascinated, as you can tell. I'm living through you, Joe. What can I tell you?

I'm just living through you. Thanks for the time. Good luck to you. I always appreciate our time and our conversations. Thanks again, sir. Thanks, guys.

Appreciate it. That's Joe Bauer, everybody, the quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals. There he goes. He's out. I mean, what's he going to say?

0-2. And he's got frosted tips. And he's wondering why Mary Brockman likes him.

That's great. He's just like, what should I do so much? Somebody offered him to have a shirt on or a hole in the shirt, too. And he's like, oh, it just looks ridiculous. Yeah, I've been working out.

Let's just go. It's hot. He's working out?

Yeah, it's hot. He doesn't have a sweater underneath. No, he's not. He's not. He's not. He's not. He's not. He's not. He's not. He doesn't have a sweater underneath. No shirt.

No. That was maybe the coolest interview we've ever done. He was just like so calm the whole time.

I just love that he's picking brains of Brady and... Yeah, I really want to like off-camera find out what these guys are telling him. Don't forget, when he came out of LSU... Best college season ever. Remember what the comp was?

The pro comp for a lot of people. It was Tom Brady. And everyone's like, okay. And what you see out of him, and that's why I think probably why Mary might like him, is he's got the Brady qualities about him, which is never settling, always competitive. Like what are you going to say to Pat afterwards?

They're not going to like Jersey Swap. Right. You know what I mean? Right. Like, you know, we said hi before the game. What am I going to say to him after the game? He just lost. He beats himself up. He's trying to get better all the time. Right. And he's also seemingly the type of guy that, you know, it's great to have Jamar Chase and obviously T Higgins, but if you're open, you know, Josip Voss has a two touchdown game, right? He can work anybody in.

And the conversation that I keep on hearing in my head, because he just passed away, that we've replayed about what Greg Harden, the Michigan mental Sherpa, the icon who just passed away and who was the one who also counseled Tom Brady back in the day when he was in Michigan and he was trying to battle what was going on with, you know, him and Drew Henson. He said consistency. That's the only thing you can do. That's the one differentiator is just to be consistent.

Who's more consistent than this guy? Right. Just the 0-2 thing. It's just crazy. But a little bit of a get right game this week, you'd think. Careful.

Dan Quinn might be zooming in right now. Okay. Let's take a break. Speaking of consistency and modeling it, my power rankings when we return right away, right out the gate, Joe Burrow and then my power rankings.

Zoom in on it. I'm happy with my head right now. I'm happy with life. My hats have been cutting down. They were up to five days a week.

Now I'm at two days a week now, because I'm feeling good about prime right now. I look at myself on social media, it's taken at least nine years off of my life. Nine years?

Yes. I'm looking like a young prime right now, man. You know, I looked at a picture of me on my profile the other day. I didn't know if it was one of my sons or me.

That's the way I am, Rich. You know, you know, Suze, you know, my wife, she's like seeing you on the air and she goes, huh? She's like, what? Is that Dionne?

I'm like, yeah, that's Dionne. You know what she's really saying? She's really saying it's almost like a guy. See, we can't do this. You know, if your girl starts to pick up a little weight, you really can't say it. You just, you know, like, hey, you want to work out day, baby?

Not, not true, but we should work. You know, you can't say it. So she's like, is that Dionne?

Yeah. And she's just waiting for you to jump in there. It's like double dutch and you just sitting out there.

And she has the ropes and she's just doing the ropes and she just keeps looking on you like, come on, baby, jump in there. Come on. Rich, you can do this, man. No, I know I can't, but I mean, you got a lot to work with on the outside. This is your expert opinion. Yes. Okay. See, you have a lot of donor hair.

They call it donor hair. Should I do it? Do it, Rich. Rich, do it. See, don't do it. Rich, do it.

You should do it. All right. Best man. Back on the Rich Eisen Show radio network, sitting at the Rich Eisen Show desk furnished by Grainger with supplies and solutions for every industry. Grainger has the right product for you.

Call clickcrainger.com or just stop by. Okay. It's a Wednesday. And let me tell you this. Not about Wednesdays, but what we do on Wednesdays. My power rankings, I got three new teams on it and only one spot stayed the same from last week.

That's what the early weeks are for. Three new teams on it. Shake it up. Three teams fell off. Everybody else moved around and only one stayed the same. So three new, three dropped out then? Three new, three out. Okay. And six moved around. Okay. Hit it. Power rankings.

There are many like it, but this one is mine. Power rankings. Post week two prior to week three.

Power rankings. Let's go. New to the list. Starting off.

New to the list. They're 2-0. And their quarterback is one game shy of matching his MVP start of his Carolina days. Sam Darnold and the Minnesota Vikings are number 10 on the list.

Skol indeed. Now this could be short-lived because they got the Texans coming into their house. But if they take out the Texans. Now we're talking.

Now we are talking. And Chris Brockman lighting up the 49ers world and the radio lines of KNBL. The spirit of the North State.

San Francisco. Thrown out there in overreaction Monday that the Niners held on to the wrong quarterback. Because Sam Darnold beat Brock Purdy.

That's what overreaction Monday is all about. Let's be accurate. Let the wrong quarterback walk to Minnesota. I understand.

It's not like Brock Purdy was free to walk, but that's it. Right. Of course. They're number 10 on my list. I like it.

I like it. Number nine. Down four spots. I was so high on them.

And then they did what they did. TJ, your Cowboys are number nine on the list. I got to be honest.

I had no idea you were going to keep them in your top 10. Listen. Come on, man. Come on, man.

I was completely zoning out. We had Joe Burrow saying one week wasn't good and another week wasn't good enough. They had one great looking week and one terrible looking week. Which is kind of almost like one week was bad and another week wasn't good enough.

I don't know if you add them up, like which one's higher in terms of production. One game went one way. One game went the other way. And the power rankings are saying, what do you want from me? We're on to Baltimore, basically. That said, the Ravens are off the list. Ravens are off the list. I couldn't in good counsel put an 0-2 team on my power rankings list. Number eight. Down four spots. Detroit Lions. They're number eight on this list.

I haven't looked great two weeks in a row. I know that, but they did come up with a win. And the way they won that game against the Rams, where they just jammed David Montgomery down the Aaron Donald-less throats of that Rams front seven.

And last week, you know, they made that mistake of not getting a field goal attempt out of being inside the 10 yard line with no time left in the first half is just crazy. But I'm just going to chalk it up to they still have some really excellent players and roster wise top to bottom and an ability to be a top eight team in the national football league. I mean, we're talking about a divisional playoff team if you're top eight. So they're eight, seven, down four spots.

Noticing a theme? If you're at the top of my power rankings last week, you're still on it. You're dropping four spots. Okay. Which means four teams are moving up, right?

I'm not good at math, man. Philadelphia Eagles. Putting them here. You know, they'd have been a top five team if they had just, you know, defended Kirk Cousins or if Saquon Blessam had caught that football. Yeah. Listen, man, Jalen Hurts played on Monday night like the guy who took the team to the Super Bowl two years ago.

Looks healthy, looks fast, looks all kinds of hertsy. You know, that last throw hurt, but he ran the ball. Great. That was what I wanted to say.

Correct. And even with Jason Kelsey gone there, that that's still an unstoppable push play. Brother, we should have worked well. Number six, down four spots. Cowboys down four spots. Lions down four spots. Eagles down four spots. And the 49ers are down four spots. I'm putting them here at six.

Man, I'm wondering what they do. Jordan Mason, is he going to carry the ball 40 times? He might. Because Deebo is the way that they perform well without McCaffrey against the Jets. And then he gets hurt in the Vikings game. And now he's gone for what appears to be a couple weeks. Yeah. So and again, Steve Young's comments on Purdy and what he can do to overcome the loss of the run game with McCaffrey and Deebo on what the football with Suzy and Amy. We might play that soundbite later on anyway.

It's really a great conversation for you to listen to. Top five on my power rankings. Here we go. New to the list. Kind of embarrassed they're new to the list, but again, I needed to see it before I put them on it. Debuts at five. Debuts at five. Buffalo Bills. Yeah. Now we're talking. Our top five. Josh Allen, James Cook.

Again, gave me flashbacks to the Orange Bowl a couple of years ago. I didn't like it. It should probably be a little higher. All right. Well, you tell me.

You tell me once you hear my top four. I'm guessing it's all two and oh teams. You'd be correct. Yeah.

Spoiler alert. Number four on the list. Up five spots. Up five spots. And this may be why they're above the Bills because they're quarterbacked by my boy.

It's my beautiful boy. You know, Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Baker Mayfield. Yeah. Great win.

Could wind up being in the store like right now. They're on the launching pad with him as a story of the year. MVP candidate. Baker Mayfield. Super Bowl possibility.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I know it is. This is all about. But that's why I called it a launching pad. It hasn't yet taken off.

They're on the launching pad. Listen to me when I'm painting word pictures. I'm framing metaphors.

Everybody. By the way, that is a words. That was a great Alanis Morissette album. By the way.

Framing metaphors. No love for Baker Mayfield. Is that a new Billie Eilish album? Going gold. In the MVP odds, man. No love for Baker Mayfield.

What's the matter with these two? He's 12th. 12th best odds. You know what? You were like, wow, new to the list. Bills, new to the list of five, right? New to the list of three.

The New Orleans Saints are three. Eh. Uh-huh. Should be one. No, okay.

Should be one. They essentially, you could chalk this up to the Saints that the Bryce Young we saw look the way he looked against the Chargers. He came out of the box this year against the Saints who might have put him into that tailspin right from jump. And in terms of beating a team in your division, you not only beat a team in your division, but you send them into a fetal position crying for their football moms. And a week later, the quarterback that's their number one overall pick is benched.

And you might've started that tailspin. That's the way you win a division. You don't just beat up your division opponents. You send them into the football hospital and paging Dr. Dalton right there in Carolina now.

So the Saints are a hard 2-0, but I need to see it a more like, let's see, they do it against Philadelphia. Guess what? They'll be higher than three. I assume. Possibly.

Because let's see what up six spots the number two team on the list, Houston, Texas. They look like a, they look like the AFC version of the Niners, don't they? Don't they? Yes. Right? Loaded in every position. Right. And both sides of the ball. Yeah. And obviously D'Amico Ryan's came from the Niner staff. They look like an AFC version of the San Francisco 49ers right now with CJ Stroud being a, a step up from Brock Purdy.

And it's, it's an argument of how many steps up because it's multiple steps up. That guy is simply superb. You know, 19 starts in his career. He's nowhere near Bryce Young. They're not even in the same galaxy. Nah.

Oh my gosh. Number one of the Chiefs. No change. The Chiefs stay like a before.

Like the rent. I don't know, man. Georgia won over the weekend by a point and dropped in the college rankings. And that's exactly what the Chiefs did.

And yet they're still one for you. I don't know about the Ravens dolphins and Rams are off. They're the two time defending champs who are undefeated. And you know what? I don't see any style points up on the screen.

They beat both. Yeah. But style points are a real thing. I know. And, and, and sometimes it does matter for power rankings, but these are mine, not yours. That's true.

There are many others like it, but this one is mine. The two and oh team's not on the list. Yeah.

The Steelers chargers and Seahawks. I thought for sure. I would have bet my life.

The charges would have been dude. I got to see more. I'm sorry. I really do.

I needed it. If you're saying the Raiders they're one-on-one and we'll see how good they are. And you want to talk about, um, from Jim's previous world, whether quality wins hold up as such, that's a very college football term. We have looked viewing things. I, I, again, I need to see, let's get, let's see what happens when Justin Herbert has to win the game for him.

Those days will happen. They have the second best point differential in the NFL right now. Well, I know that it helps to beat a team 26 to three. And how many points are they behind the saints in that department? Uh, saints, no saints are plus 62. So then how many are they? That's a 27.

They're plus 35. All right. Listen, it's been very impressive, but I'll, you know, as much, it's not personal bias either.

It doesn't come into play here. I call it. No, the cheeseburger number one is not personal bias. I get it. What are you talking about? What's my personal bias?

You don't want to hear texts from your friends. I'm happy to tell stone street that I disagree with him. Eric, I disagree with you sometimes. Just not here.

What do you think? I'm afraid to get a tech and you haven't picked against them in the last couple of years since you got bombarded. Speaking of angry texts that I get, I kept the Steelers off the list.

Well, I don't want to get one of those again either. I mean, who would you rather be more scared of getting an angry text for stone street or Manganiello? He has a great point.

That's not Manganiello we're talking about. I mean, angry text talking about somebody who has a, a very, a terrific brother on the team. Okay. So who would you rather?

I don't want to get one from him. Because I need to see more from them to knock on the door. They beat the charges.

They beat the charges. Listen, it's tough to sit on my takes and take the slings and arrows and texts. I've been, I'm taking them for 24 hours from NorCal because it was the worst take ever. We're not going to apologize for winning. You mean next to the Giannis taker or his worst take?

Let's take a break. Apparently Jim Harbaugh. Jim Harbaugh. We got it. Is it, is it a Harbaugh file?

Do we have a Harbaugh file? Okay. It's not. It's a sound bite on Justin. Oh, Justin Herbert's health. Okay. Here we go. Yeah. Ankle for Herbert.

We'll see if we're East and sticking in Pittsburgh. That would be quite a downer. Healthy hydration isn't just about drinking water. It's about water and electrolytes.

You lose both water and sodium when you sweat. So both need to be replaced to help prevent muscle cramps, headaches, and energy dips. Now you might think drinking beyond thirst would be a good idea.

Nah. That dilutes blood electrolyte and sodium levels, which could lead to headaches, low energy, cramps, confusion, or worse. A solution isn't to stop drinking water. It's to drink water plus electrolytes. Enter Element created by former research biochemist, Rob Wolf and keto gains founder Luis Villasenor. Last minute tickets, lowest price guaranteed. Back here on the program. Hey. Hey.

Hey. Did Joe Burrow take a, is he a baldist? Did he take a shot? Well, I think the same way that you're a hairist. When it comes to Trevor Lawrence, you say he needs to cut his hair to get better. Like he's Samson. Right. Should we ask David Sampson?

Well, as someone on Twitter pointed out, how's, how's Vladimir Guerrero Jr doing since he cut the locks? Tearing it up. Yeah.

Come on. So the long hair is holding him down. Yeah.

Holding him back. Yeah. He said he's going to grow it out. Well, Joe said, yeah, I think Joe was just like, you know, the bald guys are giving me a hair tips, you know? So I get that a lot.

I actually think it's the opposite. I am the perfect person to judge hair because I have no biases. Okay. I'll buy that. He stopped me. He stopped me in my tracks. Yeah.

I think bald people are the perfect people to judge hair. Do we have the anywhere, anywhere? Cause I don't mind showing this sort of stuff. Do we have the off camera footage of me spilling my coffee at the Superbowl four years ago when Joe Burrow walked on the set, sat down coffee was, and I think I just got up to say hello. And I knocked my mug over and the coffee just spilled like an entire mug over the side. And there were like three members of the crew that immediately were just cleaning up. And he's sitting in the guest chair, like looking at me and looking at the like, what the hell is this? Cool.

What a dope. Sometimes you get mad when I bring this story up. Sometimes you like when this story gets. I like this story because it just shows how cool under pressure and how calm he is no matter what the situation does well in Arrowhead.

I mean, that's like 80,000 people spilled coffee at the same time. He's like, whatever. I'm good. All white sneakers on. He wasn't even worried. He was just like, no, we got this. Yep.

That's how cool he is. Yeah. You've seen firsthand.

I think I'm going to dye my hair. And also latest confirmation. I'm a moron. Game time tickets. Get it on a mobile device near you right away and make sure you start buying tickets.

2 and 0, 2 and 0. 2 defenses that have come and hit you in the mouth. 2 offenses that want to do the same. 2 coaches who are hard-nosed.

It's awesome. I can't wait for it. It looks like we're going to see Justin Fields, because yesterday Mike Tomlin was saying Russ is still unavailable to us in a full capacity. And when he does, that's when we'll start having a question about who the quarterback is here. And then he did not countenance even a single whiff of is Justin Fields, is he possibly able to just take the job himself with another great performance? He just wasn't even going there.

Yeah, Mike ain't gonna give any air to that. Then there's Jim Harbaugh's quarterback, Justin Herbert, who is not having to do very much for this team to beat 2 and 0. Let's just run the ball downhill. Let's see if we, you know, do what we can do defensively and offensively. Herbert doesn't have to throw 350 yards.

Plus they also don't have the horses allegedly out wide, even though Quentin Johnson had a couple tuddies. He did. He's coming around. But Herbert was banged up in this game.

Finished up. Question is, what about this week? The possibility that he doesn't play? Is that a possibility in your mind? Crystal ball. Expect him, it's getting better every day. Last night I was just sitting there meeting with him.

Said he was feeling much better and good today. Who would, if you can't go, who would start? Would it be Taylor or would it be Easton? Right now it's Easton, but we're going to be way over the legal limit of what ifs, if this, if that. That's a good fantasy name.

What is that? Legal limits of ifs? Legal limit of what ifs?

Legal limit of what ifs. I think that was a Pink Floyd album, wasn't it? That was after Dark Side of the Moon. Yes. It was Dark Side of the Moon.

Legal limits of what ifs. A b-side track, I think. Let me see the depth chart here. Because the Chargers, they have Heinecky. They have Heinecky. Yeah, they have Heinecky. They hit them with the Heinecky, that's right. Look, if Herbert can't go, I would entrust it to Heinecky. Heinecky, yes, I know.

That stick hasn't done much in his time. You know, Herbert is already taking on the mantra of his coach too. Did you hear his quote?

That when he throws a 50-50 ball to Quinton Johnson, he thinks the odds are in their favor. That sounds like a gym thing to say, doesn't it? Oh, goodness. Yeah, yogi-ism.

Gym-ism. I liked it. I mean, I said this on the Overaction Monday pod, Rich. You know, the teams tweet out those pre-game speech videos, you know? And Herbert had one the other day. He was in everybody's face. He was screaming. He was really fired up. And never really seen that out of him before. And, you know, I think that's completely a direct result of Jim Harbaugh being there. Joshua Palmer, Quinton Johnson, LaDeedee McConkay. That's how we must refer to him, right, from now on around here?

That is an underrated group, but they perform. That's that. If I am the Pittsburgh Steelers, and I know this is crazy, and that's why Herbert's the difference maker here, man. You put seven, eight in the box, and you just say, we're not going to, it's just not going to be JK Dawid's day. It's not the Gus Buss day. And you're going to have to throw for 250, 300 yards to beat us today. Yeah, so Daniel Popper. That would be helpful if they put up enough points on the board to make that happen. Can they do that?

That's the question, but I'm sorry you were saying. So Daniel Popper covers the Chargers for the athletic. Four minutes ago, just said, don't see Justin Herbert at the start of Chargers practice. Yeah, they're out east.

They didn't come back west here. No Josh Palmer either. I mean, that's the issue, is that if it's, well, obviously, if it's East and Stick or Taylor Heinecke, then that's a hard story.

But if it's Herbert out there, I'm going to have you try to beat me that way. Now, last week, Carolina couldn't stop, couldn't do anything, and the Chargers beat them both ways. 40 yard touchdown plus from Dobbins and two in the air. The 50-50 balls came down, what, 80-20?

They're more 80-20 balls? So, the battle of 2-0 teams, not in my power rankings. It's another way to label it. Dan Quinn coming up next hour. I mean, safe to say, winter debuts next week, right? Yes. I'm not keeping a 3-0 team off my power rankings. Just checking. You thought I'd have the Cowboys off them entirely, huh? Well, I mean, yeah.

No, no, no, no. I know where you're going when you think that I'm trying to slag on Dallas. I don't do that purposely. But you do. No, I don't. You don't? No. Hmm. He does. That's the troll.

If there's anybody from the New York metropolitan area, it's the troll. You talk real slick sometimes, man. I mentioned Dak, and you kind of go in your face where like, oh, Dak.

Or you talk outside your neck a little bit about the Cowboys. It's fine. But you can't say you don't do it.

It takes a nice chunk out of the pie. You do. It's all good, though. You know? Okay. TJ likes it.

Well, this is what we call a tease for our Roku Sports Channel audience. Coming up next hour, a special video message about the Cowboys for our friend TJ Jefferson. From who? Whoa. I can tell you. Wow. I didn't see this on the rundown. It's not on the rundown. Purposely kept off, and only one person knows. Wow.

In this building, and his name is Mike Hoskins. I have fun. I'm not on the floor like this. This is going to prove my point, America, in the world and in the national waters. Most certainly will not.

It will not prove anything. Except you occasionally run your mouth. Well, that's what you hire us to do here. Can't be mute. You already told me that. Let's go.

Dan Quinn, backwards hat and all, coming up. Very close attention to what the Fed does to get signals on what's going to happen with mortgage rates. It's completely wrong way thinking, whether it's real estate on the market, rookie or money. And you could make just 6% on a deal. You can retire next month.
