We just had a great chat with Rod Woodson who really helped us chop up what's going to happen tonight with the Ravens changes of men losing to the Chiefs last year.

I think he gave some really terrific insight into what is going on with last year's number one seed that we all thought would finally get past Kansas City and into the Super Bowl again. But as we all know, let me just check my notes, that didn't happen. So, you know, so there was that.

So that happened. Yeah, so this third hour is for us. Rod's our last guest scheduled for the day and we've got our Super Bowl previews still to come here and predictions to come on this on this program.

I am not, I'm not delivering a pizza today, I promise. But I did want to go back and revisit my, also Sravan, my buddy, a good buddy of mine, Sravan says hi to all of you. Very good.

Say hello as well. I did want to go revisit my win-loss game for the Chiefs because Kurt Morrison said something as I was, you know, getting off the air when I was doing that. He said there was no way the Chiefs are winning 14 games and I kind of thought about it and I just want to go back and revisit that. Okay, so I believe, are you looking up the paperwork right here?

You have the paperwork? Okay, good lord. Well, great job.

You know, I stay ready so I have to get ready. So, you're, you're, you're revisiting your win-loss game. What were the three games that... There's a win that I want to turn into a loss and then I want to be reminded what my losses were. Okay, so it was August the 15th, Curtis, when you called in.

Yes. Your losses were week two to the Bengals, week eight to the Raiders, and week 16 to the Texans. Okay, so you want to change a win to a loss. You want to change the Chiefs final record of 13 and 4. We've never done this before.

No, he had them at 14 and 3. I know he wants to change. He wants to change a win to a loss, a change with 13.

Which, which win do you want to change? The Bills. I was a little disrespectful to the Bills and you know what, we have an agreement. We lose to the Bills in the regular season.

We beat them in the playoffs, so we're gonna lose. Okay, so we'll swap this out real quick. So, Curtis, you've spent the last three weeks ruminating about your win-loss game and you came up to the conclusion that you are being disrespectful to the Bills only to call up and say something even more disrespectful in changing your loss, your win to a loss in the regular season.

Is that what I just picked up on? I'm a thoughtful person, Rich. I'm a thoughtful person. I didn't get the last year. I got the Detroit Lions opening night loss right. I got the Raiders Christmas Day game right, so I'm a thoughtful person. How about that? Okay, 13 and 4 though and I appreciate the call.

Thank you. I think 13 and 4 still is good enough for a one seed anyway. Yeah, yeah or a tiebreaker situation where it comes down to whatever with another team. Name me another 14 win AFC team. This season?

Yes, sir. Can't do it. There won't be one.

I can't imagine that there would be one, right? Doesn't seem, I mean, I had an overreaction earlier this year where I said no team wins more than 12. I just think the AFC is so top to bottom strong. You got the quarterbacks. Rogers is back healthy. Joe Burrow back healthy. Harbaugh now with the Chargers. Just seems like everybody's just going to beat up on each other. 11, 12 wins kind of does it and then, you know, kind of shakes out, you know, we'll see how the playoffs go. Do me a favor and pop the Chiefs schedule up one more time there.

I should have brought my book with me. I didn't have the same sense as you. Because the fact that I pulled out of the Niners schedule at the top of the show where apparently I was cooking, so I'm the chef. They play eight playoff teams from last year, so they're going to be tested. I was just wondering how many playoff teams are on the Chiefs schedule. The Ravens are the only one that they play until in week one until they play the Niners in week seven.

Then they play Tampa. That's three. Six. Buffalo's four. Cleveland's five. Houston's six. Pittsburgh's seven.

Seven, seven. So it's an easier schedule than the one that the Niners have, right? Yeah, by what? One playoff team, I guess. I guess and you could say that the Bengals with Burrow back is a de facto playoff team. I mean, you'd think so. I mean, the Chiefs are going to be, they're going to be challenged in the first three weeks with two teams that are very difficult to beat, but they're home and then they go to Atlanta for week three and we're just assuming Atlanta is better.

Yep. But can't, does it even matter what the Chiefs do in the regular season? All they do is get in the tournament and that's all that matters.

Then they come to your house and you have to beat them or you go to their house and you have to beat them on any given Saturday or Sunday or potentially Monday of a super wild card weekend. They're the new Patriots, right? So like for all the years of the Pats dynasty, every single week was a Super Bowl because it was that team's biggest game to play them and that's what Kansas City is facing now this year.

They're getting every team's optimal effort. Not that they weren't before, but because of their two-time defending champs. They didn't get it last year. They might've, you know what I mean? Like, so might have, but now even more so now that all we've been talking about for weeks is the three-peat and that's all we're going to talk about all season long.

Like every game is that much more heightened for their opponents. Yeah. It's like you said, man, like they, I just, I know you're not a believer in this three-peat thing. It's not that I'm not a believer.

It's like Rod said, it's just extremely difficult. Are they better? Yeah, they're better this year a little bit than last year, but so is everybody else.

True. And it all starts with tonight and we might as well just hit tonight right now because this is the top of our third hour here of our second day of the residency and it's time for our kickoff preview presented by Lowe's right here on the Rich Eisen Show in Kansas City. And in terms of the kickoff preview, I think it's as simple as this. Certainly since we just said goodbye to Rod Woodson and he just broke it down, how will the Ravens offense look with Derrick Henry in it? Listen, this Ravens offense is known for its commitment to the run because a Harbaugh is a head coach and that's what Harbaugh's do. I mean seriously.

Yeah. And the Ravens have a history of depending on the run and they lean into the run more than most professional football teams do in this quarterback-driven pass-happy league. And with Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins when they were healthy and Justice Hill who is still there just recently. And then obviously this is a team that once upon a time had a 2,000 yard rusher in Jamal Lewis back in the day. And we can go on and on and on with how this run first mentality that the Ravens have had even with Lamar running the ball too, right? They've never had a guy like the guy on the screen quite frankly. I mean let's be straight up about it, right? The guy on the screen in Derrick Henry and we had him on on Tuesday's show and I try to elicit an answer out of him on the concept of being an avatar for running backs at age 30 number just as a number.

It doesn't matter, right? And he's that. He is that. In a league where running backs are devalued more and more and more in terms of a contract with the exception being Saquon and Christian McCaffrey just for two. This guy has an opportunity to show 30 is just a number.

I am as healthy as an ox. Name me another 30 year old that looks like this, right? And how will it look? And the idea of having him stand next to Lamar Jackson in shotgun and have the ball just put in his belly right there at the mesh point might not be the best way to go about it because he needs a head of steam. He needs to start moving forward and then get the football. And maybe you've got a fullback actually in front of the sky in a system that is designed for it and you put Lamar under center and have a fullback in front of Derrick Henry or in a way that I think it's going to look, the pistol where you kind of get Lamar halfway into the shotgun position.

So you give him some level of comfort. He's comfortable obviously in shotgun one would assume and give Derrick Henry's right behind him to dot the eye and see what happens there because as Rod pointed out when something's happening at the mesh point between the two of them and you don't know if Lamar is going to pull it and run or he's put it in the belly of Derrick Henry with a head of steam and block it in front of him. Man oh man how does that look for the first time and it's Chris Jones and that front seven that Kansas City depended on so much for the push in last year's offensive struggle season. I can't wait to see that play out tonight.

Like how that battle is won because obviously we're also talking about Kansas City coming out of the box faster than before but Hollywood Brown is not playing tonight. He's hurt. How will Xavier Worthy look?

How will they employ him? Will Sky Moore look any better than he did last year? Because he and Kadarius Toney were definitely disappointments last year but Sky stuck around. He's still one of their guys that they drafted.

Kadarius Toney has been sent packing. That I think is it and how will Lagerius Sneed not being there look defensively but how can Baltimore potentially be the first to exploit that? I think it's all about the Ravens. We know how good the Chiefs are.

We know they're going to look good at home. Derek Henry in the last five years has averaged 1400 yards a season. He scored 68 touchdowns since 2019 and now you're putting him on the best running team in the NFL in that span as well.

I just cannot wait to see it. We've got to assume we talked about it with Rod. Only six carries by running backs in the playoff game last year. Got to assume Derek Henry's going to get six carries maybe on the opening drive. That would be amazing. That would be a lot in the opening drive. That would be just like here we are. This is who we are going to be this year.

Try and stop it. There's 22. We got eight.

Good luck. You know who took that approach in the kickoff game last year were the Lions. If you remember they went forward on fourth down deep in their own end of the second drive of the game when they got it and then wound up taking a lead on a touchdown and then setting a tone for the rest of the game and then the rest of their season in a way. Going forward on fourth. You got to wonder if the Ravens are going to tone set in that regard right and how will Patrick Queen's loss be absorbed by the Ravens defense and how will the Chiefs be able to take advantage of that too.

I cannot wait for it. I am also this may seem crazy. I'm curious how Travis Kelce looks.

Guys I wouldn't worry about. Guys had a pretty wild non-football offseason. We haven't seen much of him in the preseason. I'm just curious.

So what are you what are you curious about? He didn't play in the opener last year. I'm just curious what he looks like. I think he's going to look like the first ballot hall of famer. That is a major problem major problem but as Rod was talking about as soon as he got up from the chair he said then you know looking at the film of last year's AFC championship game they didn't chip him off the line.

They didn't touch him once. He got free releases. All day. I can only imagine that will be different. Yeah. I can only imagine that will be different. And there's no Patrick Queen there now to. It's going to be something else.

i know and and there were some who weren't involved in it guys couldn't i mean no no but we're involved we're there right right right Sarah and Liz and Kristen were not there and Roku Joe didn't want any part of it and wanted in the league Joe well he said that he wouldn't have time to run it and it's like great i like hearing that from somebody who's basically you know honchoing the uh marketing know dinner to hit the table and then i just look in the corner and TJ's at the end of the table like steaming i was doing dude stewing you were so you were angry why were you angry i was annoyed why were you angry because i started on this show in march of 2018 when i got on the scene i said hey you know what we need to do a show fantasy football league 2019 2020 21 22 23 yes i asked you and chris every year i'm ready let's do this and you both just treated me like a redhead stepchild that's not true first of all first of all my brother's a redhead okay so let's let's choose a different analogy sir we're not turning off all the redheads out there the dreadlock step stepchild then i guess and you guys just wouldn't you would you know we've got too many leagues i don't want to do it we're all there it's nothing against you we were at work but okay no we're working we're working and then you guys all got all over me because i got the 10th overall rich and had garrett wilson sitting there and literally garrett wilson your favorite player on your favorite team falls into your lap and what did you do she was pukanaku instead i'm not mad at that that was jet fans are so angry at me right now because i chose the dolphins to win the afc east i'm getting a lot of i'm getting a lot of memes about me being a uh a judas or being fake jet fan being fake being fugazi um being a turncoat trader i'm getting a lot of that it's like i'm just calling it as i see it which by the way i will do week week five jets versus vikings you know i'm also very sensitive on that subject matter because i'm calling a jet game on nfl network and i i will be calling that game straight down the middle as i do every single game just like i did calling the afc east for the dolphins just like i did last night when i'm like i'm going to go with pukanaku in a full point full point pr league full point i'm going with puka instead of assuming the garrett wilson to rogers connection would would be as special as we thought it would be last year before rogers put up a thousand yards with zack wilson i mean of course he's going to dominate with aaron rogers i hope so not you don't hope so because you didn't take him who did did took him james took him james did you get him james james yeah he gave us thumbs up here's the thing though was i i was annoyed for literally for like about the most fun draft ever but after that like sarah and liz says i just went with the bit after that i was just like pretending because i was like all right everyone's here then you were like tj don't worry we're calling in the wolf and i was like well hey that's all you need to say like you're calling in the world guess what guess what you choose you us basically heckling you into taking dak with a fantastic peer prior you've you buckled under peer pressure oh yeah because you have to peer pressure me and taking the guy who's the runner up in the mvp race last year we threw 39 touchdowns short right okay but here's the thing people at home after they disrespected me and wouldn't enjoy my league here we go here's what happened about 40 minutes after the draft was over we look at all our phones to get like our draft grades and what does it say oh the tj spite team because that's what i named them tj spite team is projected to win this league okay so hey holler at your boy yeah so so the ai the ai chose you right yeah by the way and your draft grade was still a b-minus that's that honestly that's the point that was a little weird it's a little weird yeah but they they said my team is i stacked up on running backs i'm nice i'm real nice you won the preseason congratulations to the dan orlovsky lions i'm not i'm not going to win 60 yahoo gpt said i was going to finish oh and 14 well there's a good chance that is going to happen you got the lowest draft i had the lowest draft grade did you really a d-minus whatever nobody knows rich d is for diplomas attaboy so i'm good actually explain to him that he could actually give harder money to one of his kids because then he would get the same number of likes as michael likes would help like you need more likes do you think west chris brockman you are first what do you have over there what's up guys let's try and get it all in so just what do you have of course let's go right to obviously this is the chief's division until someone takes it from them which no one will this year kansas city wins this division i think pretty easily i'm gonna go denver number two i think they're gonna shock some people oh that is shocking there i had the overreaction that bow nix will be the second best quarterback in this division i'm gonna i'm gonna back that play chargers third raiders fourth could be a long year in vegas tj you know i like to go four to one so i got the broncos coming in the rear i got the chargers at three i got the raiders finishing second and of course like you said until somebody stops them it's chief's kingdom yeah and i i i'm obviously going to take the chiefs to win this division i again bow nix 61 career starts in college he's still a rookie his first week one rookie that the broncos have started since john ellway in 83 and i understand he can he can be coached up by sean payton clearly but um and offensively i don't know the the weapons um are are even the best in in the division quite frankly um or even close to it so i'm putting the broncos fourth i'm putting the raiders third uh i'm going to chargers second uh and i don't think that's going to surprise anybody that i believe in harbaugh i like that we all want something different i i'm i'm going to take the chargers second i really think harbaugh does plus up this team and i think herbert's going to look terrific certainly if he is healthy as he says that he's 100 coming back from that planter fascia issue that kept him in a walking boot for two weeks in august uh and then the chiefs to win the division the the green bay packers in the super bowl this is cooper's prediction of the super bowl last year brother remember you had that hot take of packers texans i'm gonna help packers texans in new orleans this year wow for the lumbar and the packers win it all i don't know who wins well it says packers over texans up on the screen packers over texans you can't you can't come on the championship predictions and then not choose who wins it so tj mvp super bowl big game prediction please mvp of the league well we know obviously we just should call this the most valuable quarterback because they're the only ones that win so uh you know this is a total race i'm going with b rabbit that's joe burrow i'm picking joe burrow to be the nfl mvp and then who makes the big game and wins it all sir well we're in kansas city right now yes sir and you know i'm a wrestling fan and and they rick flair used to famously say to be the man you got to beat the man and until somebody beats them they're the man so i believe that the kansas city chiefs this year will lose in the super bowl to the dallas cowboys because we're all in let's go i got to give the people what they want that press card is all in on the road to riches and diamond rings real players do real things and that press cut is going to be a real player he's going to carry us all the way to the top he's going to get that 70 million contract that's what you wanted and that's what i gave it to you can i get a hell yeah hey i had no idea i didn't know you were going to cut a promo in the middle of all that yeah all right um um my mvp prediction for this year is exactly mine what you just said i'm going joe burrow everything i hear is this guy is 100 locked in he is next level locked in that everything that has happened in cincinnati with his um the calf and his hand last year he is eager to prove that he is still the man there and i think the bengals will get joe burrow's best performance and he will be mvp only to lose to the kansas city chiefs who go on to the super bowl and win it all again as you know i am predicting the three-peat and i'm doing it over the lions i think the lions get through and give the lions fans what they wanted and then the chiefs will just we'll have spent an entire week in new orleans hearing about how the lions beat the chiefs in week one of the 2023 season and the
