Yes, it is. Welcome to this edition of The Rich Eisen Show right here on the Roku channel. Let me sit up straight. See if everything looks good here. Oh, everything looks good here. OK, I'm just checking, just checking, just a welfare check on everybody out there, because, you know, I'm concerned about so many people out there, certainly in a certain state that might be in a certain state of mind today.

But that's for a little bit later. There's so much to talk about on this program. Talking with you as well.

844-204 Rich, number to dial. Call in concerns about your teams or you want to crow about your teams. We're here for that.

If you're if you're concerned about, say, a good friend of yours that roots for a team that that did not win this weekend. Call in. We're here for you. There may be an I in Rich and Eisen, but I'm I'm all about people today. And I want you all to call in and let's have conversations.

Let's chop it up about certain things in life that may or may not delight you and make others who you enjoy seeing in misery miserable. Just throwing things out there. That's for later on in this program to talk about Chris Long of the Green Light podcast will be on this program.

Josh Jobs, who is just an absolutely delightful individual. We've been wanting to talk to this guy for quite some time, and he has an opportunity tonight to put the Minnesota Vikings in a really nice position in the NFC North. They have a chance to win this division because the Lions were the first team to trip up in week number 12. That finishes up tonight.

All they need to do is knock off a Bears team that seemed to have the Lions right where they wanted them eight days ago and let that slip through their fingers. So there's a lot going on in the world of Josh Jobs and a lot going on in this football loving community of ours. Good to see you over there, Chris Brockman. How are you, sir? I'm great. What's up, Rich? Oh, a lot. How are you, DJ Mikey?

What's going on? I am doing well, Rich. Good to see you. Very well.

Good morning. And T.J. Jefferson, hold up your grease board, because, again, this happened on Thursday, but I guess I know you've been waiting four days to do it. The Cowboys won.

That was great. And I'm happy for you because Michigan won. But did they really? Survivor Series was was this week. Oh, and Randy Orton and CM Punk are back with WWE.

And that was the biggest thing for me and all the wrestling fans out there. So, you know, that's that's where this is going. Very good. That's a nice little curveball I didn't see coming. Oh, fantastic. Look into my eyes.

What do you see? Nicely done person. Nicely done. All of you guys.

Well done. Hey, hey. Here we go. I honestly thought I would lead this program today with what we saw in Philadelphia yesterday, because again, I understand, you know, my football team. Collegiate football team won a game against their hated rivals, hated for a third straight time. And I'll talk about that later on. But this moment, I thought I would lead with the Philadelphia Eagles beating the Buffalo Bills in overtime yesterday. And we'll get to that in a second.

However, the year however. A National Football League head coach has been fired on the Monday after Thanksgiving weekend, week 12 year out the door, and it's somebody who was fired in the middle of a season last year. And Frank Reich, who does not deserve the fate that he has now suffered in back to back seasons to become the first coach in the Super Bowl era since the merger. To be fired in the middle of a season in back to back seasons.

This man does not deserve having that on his resume. He was hired to go to Carolina. And hook himself up to at the time, you know, a future quarterback that nobody knew the name of to try and take a team that had just missed the playoffs last year, despite bouncing their head coach in the middle of the season last year in Matt Ruhl and having Steve Wilkes take over the team and damn near win the division that was wide open for anybody to win.

Despite finishing seven and 10. And now they have the same number of losses through 11 games that they had in 17 games last year. And the numbers are not pretty. They are not pretty, especially since this team went all in all in to go get Frank Reich in their mind, the best quarterback in last year's draft in Bryce Young out of Alabama. And instead, what they have is clearly the second best rookie quarterback at best in this league this year, as we're watching others win games elsewhere. Will Levis now has more wins as a starting quarterback in the NFL in the rookie class than Bryce Young.

Yikes. Tommy DeVito now has more wins in this rookie class for the dreadful Giants than the Carolina Panthers. Bryce Young has this offense is 30th in total offense. This offense is 30th in passing yards per game. They haven't won a single game on the road.

Oh, and six part of the one in 10. So it ain't pretty. But it usually is not.

Going to be framed and placed in the Louvre. In your first year as head coach in the NFL, especially when. You go get the guy in the draft. And he may not be ready to win in the league because more often than not, they are not. C.J.

Stroud is 100 percent the outlier. Although he couldn't win on Thanksgiving weekend again, but that's again for later on in the program. Usually there's going to be a lot of hiccups. Especially when in acquiring the rights to draft the quarterback you want, you trade away your best playmaker on offense to catch the ball from him. Yeah. And if you're the owner who says yes to that and you are the owner who says yes to the entirety of that trade for draft capital and you are the owner who says yes to Frank Reich to come in and you are the owner who has now in consecutive seasons bounced your head coach and you are the owner whose general manager 100 percent needs to fix this offensive line and get the weapons for Bryce Young so he can be properly evaluated for a head coach who knows how to coach quarterbacks in this league. Young and old. Andrew Luck to Nick Foles. Then it's on you as the owner to kind of let it percolate and work.

And David Tepper. I don't believe. Let's much percolate. I don't know. I've never seen him grab a cup of coffee. I assume he's he's on caffeine. I don't know when you're a billionaire and you're making money. I mean, money doesn't sleep. I once heard that someone said somewhere.

Yeah. This is your wake up call, though, for David Tepper. Because he now has since 2018, he's on this team since 2018, by the way. He now has with Chris Tabor, the special teams coach now taking over the reins of this team. He now has as many interim head coaches as head coaches. Ron Rivera, Matt Ruhl, Frank Reich head coaches. Perry Fuel took over for Ron Rivera. After Ron got bounced, Steve Wilkes took over for Matt Ruhl and Chris Tabor.

Now for Frank Reich. Oh, and in the twin since 2018, they have traded away Christian McCaffrey, D.J. Moore next year's first round draft choice. And by the way, the second round draft choice of 2025 belongs to Chicago Bears as well. And also, there's been a revolving door at quarterback that one hopes Bryce Young will stop.

Nine different starting quarterbacks since 2018, since David Tepper's taken over, and this is his record, too. I'll go over the names. You want to hear? Yeah. All right.

I do. Taylor Heinecky, Will Greer, Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, Cam. Sam. Sam Darnold, P.J.

Walker, Baker, Mayfield, Bryce Young. And here's the thing, too. If you think. That the rumors are true. That Bill Belichick knows he's out in New England, right? And Carolina has been eyeing him from afar, even though Bill was asked on the Greg Hill show locally in his usual Monday local spot in local Boston radio, that there's a rumor that you're going to be able to go to New England. Radio that there's a rumor that he already knows his next destination. He answered, quote unquote, That's ridiculous, but let's just go there, right? Let's just go there.

Why not? Or how about what RG3, our friend from the worldwide leader has suggested on his social media feeds? If Bryce Young needs to get back his old Alabama ways, how about the Alabama head coach getting back into the pros? Nick Saban taking the job. And I know there's going to be word on the streets in the next month, six weeks over the final, hopefully three games of the Michigan Wolverine season that got extended. I don't know if you heard about Saturday. That's for later on. There will be talk about Jim Harbaugh. Oh, yeah.

Go in there. And there'll be all sorts of talk of big name coaches. And my question for you, who thinks that's possible? Why in the hell would they take this job when they've seen not one, not two, but three coaches replaced by three interim's? Why?

Frank Reich got 11 games. The owner is in the locker room, apparently, after this loss in Tennessee. Overheard, screaming the F, he's F bombing. Yeah, really?

Yeah. I know he's F bombing, shaking his head, walking in. You think you think Bill wants a piece of that in his last swing? You want you think Nick Saban's leaving Alabama for his return?

Like, by the way, that's nuts. He didn't leave in Alabama. Certainly not to see if David Tepper wants him to make Bryce Young a viable NFL threat. Get out of here with that noise, Jim. Even if he's got like a show cause staring him in the face, he'll sit around doing something else.

Oh, yeah. Then take this guy's money after what he's shown with the NFL head coaches. And that's something he's going to have to deal with, flat out. Now, he might have a break off something proper off of his billions and and and have a head coach go, oh, yeah, for that amount of money, I'll I'll roll the dice with you.

I'll dice roll. Well, this is an ugly situation, and, you know, no offensive line, no weapons. Oh, but the coach eats it.

OK. So there's that. Let's talk about Frank Reich's old team. Let's get to the Philadelphia Eagles now. I mean, this was the meat of their schedule. This is where all of the first two months of the game this is where all of the first two months of inconsistencies were supposed to come home to roost against the better opponents in the NFL and cost the Eagles. And it looked for two straight weeks in inclement weather in Kansas City and in Philadelphia.

To cost them. Both times through three quarters, three and a half quarters looking ugly. Down by 10 at the half in both games.

Same score, 17-7. And then coming out. Stepping on themselves again in the third quarter, and then all of a sudden, just like the Iron Bowl. Just like Milro finding Bond in the back of the end zone, Hertz finds Zacchaeus. Touchdown. And things began to change and roll in a different direction, and Hertz begins to roll again. And he finds Devante Smith, speaking of Alabama connections again, and Hertz finds the end zone again. In overtime to win it. And how many times are the Eagles going to be tested in this manner?

And it doesn't matter. That's two in a row. And this is the part of the schedule where the Cowboys are taking on Carolina and taking on Washington at home and watching the Eagles slip up so they can have a shot at the division. And this is the time when the 49ers are supposed to come back from their bye and start winning as they have and watch Philadelphia slip up so they can be within hailing distance of their week 13 visit to win and take over the conference.

And that. Didn't happen on the Philadelphia side of the ledger. Everyone else is holding their end. The the Lions dropped the ball on Thanksgiving. But the Eagles have not dropped the ball when it looks like it's loose and slipping out and it's coming out. And even like two false starts by their Hall of Fame center with the game on the line and needing to get within field goal range for a last second overtime forcing field goal by Jake Elliott. Even those two five yard penalties by Jason Kelcey didn't matter because Jake Elliott picked him up by popping it through from 61 yards out.

And I know the Bills and some decision making had a lot to play into this, but they got in Philadelphia yesterday showing up for Buffalo. The Mandalorian quarterback Josh Allen, I've been talking about that. We need to see the guy who's tough to put down on the ground. And I'm sure Bill's fans will say, well, they did put him on the ground once by his back plate and his front of his jersey that got ripped. And there was no call as the son of Ed was staring it down. Didn't throw a flag on that.

But that's again for another part of this program. But they did get Josh Allen a plus plus Josh Allen. And they beat him back and took advantage of the mistakes big and small that the Bills made. And when the Bills final mistake of the night on offense was an option route in the end zone and Allen threw it one way and Gabe Davis went the other way. And they had to settle for a field goal, allowing the Eagles to march down and potentially win the game.

And that's what they did. Man, the next two games, this is it. One seed's on the line, folks. Can the Eagles slip up in the latter part of their schedule in the final four games? When they're playing twice against the Giants around an Arizona team that had Kyler Murray once again punked by Aaron Donald in the Rams front seven? A visit to Seattle?

Maybe. Next two, this is it. If San Francisco doesn't get them, I don't think it matters what Dallas does. This one seed's done and the division's done. Obviously, if they win the next two, I mean, smoke them if you got them. It's it's full on Philadelphia feeling good. Lewis, we're cheersing Billy Ray and the price of frozen, concentrated orange juice is going through the roof and crop reports are being handed off and in garages like it's full on full on Philadelphia.

If those two things happen. Who's beaks in this situation? I don't know. I guess what? Dan Campbell, is he beaks?

I don't know. Dan Campbell's beaks. Doesn't end well for, you know, I don't know, because I mean, how many times are they going to look like they're out? And then they pulled themselves back in. They certainly did that against the Bills mafia yesterday. And Buck still sniffing it, you know, I mean, you know, hey, the NFC is the Eagles now to win or lose. And and it's pretty sweet, the schedule makers, man, the next two weeks is really where the rubber meets the road. Niners at home, Cowboys on the road on fun, fun, fun. That's it.

That's it. But kudos to Philadelphia. I mean, A.J. Brown, they won these last two games. A.J.

Brown, he caught a touchdown yesterday. But it was like it was still empty. You know what I mean? Yep. Like stuffing. Huh?

Nice. And you know, yeah, it just it's truly remarkable because Jalen Hurts is your MVP. It's just not the way he plays. It's the way he comports himself.

I won't repeat how T.J. described it prior to the program, but it was his mother's listening. But it's not correct because you can't tell. You can't tell whether he's up or he's down. You can't tell whether whether he's, you know, concerned or nervous. He's a Jim Caldwell face. He'll be aired out by his favorite wide receiver and he won't say anything. I mean, nothing, you know, nothing, nothing, nothing.

Don't want to see him. And you see the players in the same way, too. They had a shot of A.J. Brown and Devante Smith on the sideline while the Bills were driving in overtime to start overtime. And, you know, you know, and Susie looked at the screen.

She goes, they look miserable. And they did. They did.

But I'm just wondering if they just have the same Jalen Hurts face. You don't know if he just won a billion in the lot. That's it. You know, if he lost a million way to clean it up, you know, and so well done to you. They take his cue, man.

They take his cue in so many different ways. We'll take a break. Chris Long from Green Light Pod will join us on this program.

Josh Dobbs of the Vikings. Oh, and T-minus 41 minutes till I unwrap Saturday's big game. From my point of view, I understand. So let's let's bring them in just because I don't want them waiting for too much longer. Chris Long of Green Light Pod is back here on the rich EISEN show. How are you doing, Chris? Good to see you, Rich. How are you, buddy?

I'm going to reintroduce you again shortly. You've got a lot of headroom right there. And what's going on? Yeah.

You want a little less headroom? I don't know. Let's work on it. There you go. All right.

That's nice. Oh, yeah. Look at you. There you go.

Look at us. Yeah. Yeah.

Well, not throw the producers on the bus, but you know, it's just go ahead and do it. Are you cold? You're about to. Are you cold or is that an accessory? What is that? It's like it's like it's like 30 degrees outside. And not everybody has consistent lettuce like you. So, you know, the thing is, I got to put a hat on when I'm sitting in my chair because you never know what it looks like day to day. What do you mean? Are you saying it's it's it's a it's a grind having hair? Is that what you're saying, Chris? It is not that you're saying that the spins on this. But if if a guy like you or Jason Statham or thank you, one of these handsome, bald men, you know, they just you just roll with it every day. It's the same thing. You said it and forget it. That's true.

It's great. You know, a lot of people think guys like me or Josh Demel. You know, like we have it easy, but we don't. It's actually difficult. You put a hat on thing could be going any direction. Well, teas and peas, Chris.

Teas and peas, man. You know, I appreciate it, bro. It's funny. Yesterday, Mike Garofalo, also part of the Brotherhood, here, you know, he was he wore a hat like that in Giants Stadium. And during the commercial break, Michael Irvin's like, is it really that cold? And I turn on like, you know, Michael, for those of us without hair, this is like a Gore-Tex jacket.

It's very important. It keeps the heat. You know what I mean? People got to stop cold shaming, man. If you're told you're cold, cold shaming. I love it.

Cold shaming. Fantastic. Back on the Rich Eisen Show radio network, sitting at the Rich Eisen Show desk furnished by Grange with supplies and solutions for every industry. Granger has the right product for you.

Call click Granger dot com or just stop by Chris Long of the Green Light with Chris Long podcast back here on the program. Also inside the NFL on the CW. Christopher, how do you beat the Eagles if the Chiefs and the Bills couldn't?

How do you do? I don't know, man. These guys, man, these guys are tough. They're just tough. I mean, like they gave these guys a head start. They gave them the ball in the first half. I didn't like the offensive game plan, but they are really good at wearing people down. I really do believe that the physicality of this group, even without Landon Johnson, who I thought was a big difference for them because early in that game, I don't think they felt confident running the ball, getting their their drive started, except for the touchdown drive.

They go five runs, five first downs. The first downs, they came out and ran the ball in the second half as things went and they set some things up. Some of their RPOs that in the first half weren't there. They were there in the second half. But it all came down to the run game.

You know, that first drive they come out and they say, hey, screw it. Lane's a right tackle. We are missing him over there. We're going to run the ball left behind Kelsey, behind my lot. Kelsey is going to be on the move.

We're going to pull him. And I think I counted almost every run in the second half was away from that void that Lane leaves. And they were just so dominant. And to set up those big plays in the red zone, red zone, it's like the play to stall the tight end.

Yeah, the big guy with the lettuce out the back, you know, like they set that up because they got a man look. And earlier in the game on one of the RPOs, I think Jalen got a man look and was a little bit shook by that because they played a lot of zone. And so as the game goes on, not only are they making the right adjustments, but they're wearing people down and they just will.

Will it to happen? And the push is so people are tired of hearing about it. But it's it's it's kind of a microcosm of who they are. It's like so it's hurt. So it's hurts, right? So it hurts. So it's Suriani.

So is Kelsey. I mean, there's so many of them that personifies the town and the sensibility that Eagles fans want their teams to have. Yeah. And yet yet it just it's taken three quarters for that sort of ID to kick in on the scoreboard the last two weeks. And now here come the forty niners and the Cowboys.

This is it, right? I mean, like this is it. Whether the division or the one seed can be can be wrapped up, essentially. I know there's still four more games to go, but this would be a differentiator for sure. I'm not going to pick the game yet because I want to take a deep breath before I pick this Niners game.

And, you know, like with my my bias and my homorism, it I acknowledge that I checked out at the door. But, you know, they played 92, 93 defensive snaps last night and the effort was great. I mean, Buffalo dominated time possession, the whole thing in the rain, physical football game. I mean, they go into overtime.

Guys are just you know, they're hanging on. And you've got to play San Francisco now. And that is they're a trash compactor, man. They're so physical. You see what they did to San Francisco the other night. You see what they do when they're at full strength to Jacksonville.

They're not going to be able to do that to the Eagles. But this is a challenge from a physicality standpoint, from a matchup standpoint and just from, hey, we just got done taking 92, 93 plays on defense. And, you know, I got to tip my cap to these guys because they really did make some of the big plays down the stretch. You know that check? Well, it's not a check, but I mean, like on the second level, you can see that that that pick that Josh threw and it was that kind of game. It was just we needed one turnover.

They're communicating on the back end. If number two breaks out, Bradbury is going to come down and steal that ball. And they gave the palm check and went with it. And so I just think whether it's the side or the offense, like this team is so smart, situationally aware, you know, even the bad conversions against Josh, which I think was a big deal in the whole thing. I just trust them. And so when they come out of this thing, one and one, two and oh, oh, and two, they're going to be there in the end. And, you know, I think that Jaylen's starting to look healthier. These are these are good signs for them. And they're winning games like this, not take shots at the Cowboys, because, you know, I actually don't hate the Cowboys.

I was only there twice. OK, like I just hate the Cowboys like everybody else, like normal hate. So don't think I'm something like Philly Homer when I give this take. But like the Cowboys, how many times you see them down 17, seven, you know, twenty four, fourteen down again, like the Eagles had to pull three drives out in the second half against good team down and they just continue to do this stuff. So that's why I trust them down the stretch. Well, I think the Cowboys have joined the Dolphins in the 2023 edition of who have they really beaten?

I think that's where they are right now. I don't think the Cowboys deserve that. I think the Cowboys are pretty good.

I mean, I'd love to go. It's true. Who have they beaten? But I think Cowboys are a better team than Dolphins. I just think the Cowboys. The Cowboys have to put it together. It's not going to matter if they beat anybody in the regular season. It's always, hey, can the Cowboys beat somebody in January? And so like, is this team different?

We'll find out. But I think they're pretty good. I think they're the third best team in the NFC. But I think the three best teams in the NFC might be better than all the best teams in the AFC right now.

So I don't know. Yeah, that's an interesting take right there. But, you know, isn't there something to Chris having to. Part of your journey in the regular season is beating those teams and the fact that they. Right. And so I guess a game against Detroit for Dallas that's coming up later on in week 17 is one of them. And and Philadelphia coming into their house like you kind of again, you know, making the playoffs, anything can happen. But again, you've been in these crucible games before do or die.

I mean, the fact that you, you know, in the third quarter, fourth quarter can put your fingers in the dirt or, you know, the pellets and and and know you've already done it in the regular season gives you confidence to do it again in January or February. No, or that's that's too much. No, I agree with you.

I agree with you. I think they got they got their butts kicked when they played San Francisco that that stuck in my head. I think they took Philly down the wire. And, you know, Philly got some calls last night. I got to admit that as an Eagles fan, you know, that was a horse collar and that sort of thing.

And I got away with some some stuff on the back end. But Dallas will tell you their fans will tell you, hey, we didn't get every call when we went to the link. I think they're perfectly capable of beating the Eagles, especially at home. I think they're capable of beating any of these teams, but they've just got to go finish it and do it.

I don't think they shrink in the big moments. It's not like when I see Miami play somebody, it's like they look totally different, you know, than than the average day at the office. I think Dallas, they just haven't finished these games. And, you know, San Francisco kicked their butts, but they didn't finish that that Eagles game. They've got to finish some of these games.

I think they'll be fine. But the fact of the matter is, like I said, there's three of the best teams in the NFL, in the NFC. And it's that's the conversation in the NFC. All right. It's now time for our weekly Chris Long level of concern.

Part of our segment, including your favorite, the production value. All right. Move on to see here, please. It's Chris. There we go.

Chris Long's level of concern. There we go. It's such a big start. You know, it's tough to continue.

That's awesome. You know, yeah, it is. It is tough. So the first up are the Buffalo Bills.

Your level of concern is what? Well, the ironic thing is, I think they're a really good team, but I don't know if the mask going to get them in now. I thought they absolutely when you jump out to that lead, had to have that. You had to have that win.

It's backbreaking. But the thing that's so tantalizing for them is they're like they look like a different team. Offensively, Josh looked like Josh last night.

That was tough. It wasn't as bad as maybe some of the picks he threw, like backed up against Cincinnati or that sort of thing. Or he's just heaving the ball into coverage. But I thought that was as much about the Eagles making a heads up play.

But I thought those conversions, him being willing to use his legs and the defense playing a little bit better in spots. I I'm not panicked about them because it is what it is. I mean, like you only panic about a team that were past panic with the Bills. Now it's survival. It's not a panic thing. It's a survive thing.

Survive. Well, what do you do on a team that is frequently saying what we hear from the Bills, which is we just got to clean up the little mistakes. You know, we got to clean it up. We just got to play better.

We just got to focus and play better. And for fans, you know, fans just want to hear something tangible. They don't want to hear that esoteric stuff. They want to hear like, oh, that thing can actually get fixed.

And as a matter of fact, you know, swapping offensive coordinators is something a fan can hang their hat on like that. They've already done that. You even pointed out things are better. But what do you make of that?

How do you? Well, listen, I mean, like it's like any team. How many teams are not saying that at the end of the year? There's only been a couple of these teams that have have held that trophy over the past five, seven years. And like Josh puts them in a position a lot of times, and sometimes he puts them in a position to lose these games. But he's the reason they're there. So, you know, like I'm just not as, you know, McDermott's tenure has been up and down.

There's been some disappointing moments like this year alone. Like I didn't like the calls at the end of that that Broncos game. Right.

Why did you heat them up? That sets up the game winning field goal. Right. I thought that there were some things that they could have done differently last night, but more than anything, they just had some injuries on defense that put them in this position. And obviously the coordinator thing, they fixed it.

But it might be a little bit too late. And so, you know, for for Bill's fans, I know it's tough to hear that week after week, but special teams is the one thing you can control. I think they've lost a number of games on special teams this year alone.

Yeah, I just mentioned the Denver game. You know, twelve, twelve men on the field, the Jets game with the punt return. Then last night, you get a field goal blocked. And I'll be at a bad call, set that up before the half. And in the second half, you come out and you miss another field goal.

So there are little things, but they are the difference in the game. And as James Cook dropping a ball, if James Cook catches that ball, I don't even think we're talking about this game in the same way. It's what's the panic meter on the Eagles as we inevitably would.

I think it's making those plays that are there to make. And I don't know what to tell those fans. I mean, it might be a next year thing, but as long as you have Josh Allen and a coordinator that can actually get the most out of him, I feel like you're going to be in the conversation every year. This is a this is not everybody gets one thing. You know, it's yeah, it's like not every fan base is going to get the cash in on this awesome window, whether it's Cincinnati or whether it's Josh Allen or whether it's the Ravens with with Lamar. Like most of these guys are going to be sitting up there at the end of their 10 years and saying, hey, why don't we get a ring out of this? So I'm not going to pick on them necessarily.

But I do think they they they put themselves in a spot where they can't lose anymore. Your level of concern, Chris Long for the Detroit Lions. Hi. Hi. Yeah, yeah, I am. And like, I love the Lions. I'm the guy, you know, like not that we talk about the first thing I did this off season, put the Lions over win total hammered it. OK, so love the Lions.

Big fan of Dan Campbell. Love Jared Goff story. But I've been saying this for a month now because they haven't played good football in a month. I mean, you you're thinking, oh, what about the Chargers game?

Yeah, it's not a complete game. You let that team that scored 10 points last night at home go up and down the field. It was like a big 12 track meet from like, you know, days of Mike Leach. And, you know, you had to get a stop to win and you never really got that turnover. And again, the same thing in a lot of these games defensively. They haven't had a bunch of sacks the past month or two of the season. They're not very talented outside of a couple of guys defensively. I'm not saying they're a bad group of players. They just have to have more blue chip guys if they want to play like this. And the main issue is and we saw this and we've seen it, whether it was red zone, bad pick for golf against Vegas or, you know, all the turnovers against Chicago or this week, which was really concerning, which is in division team. Right. And it's Jordan Love, who if he wins this job, he's not going anywhere. This was not flukey that you just got beat. You know what I mean? And and this team's not going anywhere in the division.

So on a macro level, I'm concerned, you know, more than I was before because you thought, hey, they got this thing on lock. Like Chicago might ship Justin Fields. Green Bay don't know who their quarterback is. Kirk Cousins is hurt, but. On a on an in-season level, they can't lose any more games if they want to make a run because they have to play at home. And that pass rush from Green Bay got after him.

I really love Rashaan Gary. It was great for him to have that game on Thanksgiving. But Jared Goff off the spot is a concern.

And so if you're going to go outside and this is the best way I can put it. You watch that game, right? And you think about where they're trying to go. And then you sit in your in your chair and you watch the other two games.

The rest Thanksgiving. Dallas has defensive ends who run down on punt. OK, they've got Micah Parsons. They've got the Marcus Lawrence. They will they will tear you apart. And it's the same thing with the Niners.

So all you had to do there of your Lions fan is you lose that first game. You look at the way you look against pressure and guys who can get after you. And if that offensive line doesn't have it isn't good, then what's your identity?

Right. You couldn't you couldn't protect your golf. He's not great off the spot. Look at where you're going to have to go to win a Super Bowl. You know, you're going to have to go to San Francisco if you play like this. The rest of the season, you're going to have to go to Dallas. You have to go to Philly. Don't love the chances.

Not with what I've seen the last month. Oh, man. Last one for you, Chris, is let's revisit your level of concern on the Steelers now that their offensive coordinator change their offensive coordinator change, you know, gave positive results in just one one game over 400. I thought you guys would never ask.

Rich, you know, last last week, people are like, Chris, what are you? Why wouldn't you panic about these guys? They're the Steelers. They're going to slide in. They're going to they're going to win a few of these games on the stretch. They love rock fights. And the way they played offensively yesterday, I don't know if they're going to be in a rock fight every game.

It's 400 yards total offense. You know, it's it's the first time they've had that in a number of games. So it's not a coincidence.

Fifty eight games is not a coincidence, man. And Kenny look confident. And, you know, they they set up the inside stuff with the perimeter run early.

That was great. And then I love just his confidence to rip the ball over the middle of the field. But also, you know, we talk about for our move, the seams. Maybe the most exciting thing for me, if you're the Steelers, is watching him rip the ball outside the numbers. You know, he had two really nice balls outside the numbers, one to Pickens, one to Johnson. He also had that touch on the red zone that they should have thrown the review flag on. But I thought this was a big positive step in the right direction and actually makes them not just their footnote, they're in the playoffs.

They can win a playoff game if they play like that offensively. Do you if you're T.J. Watt, pull aside Deontay Johnson when he just watched the ball ripped loose and walked away from it, thinking it was an incomplete pass. What do you make of that one, Chris? It's a bad look. I mean, you know, I don't want to hammer the guy. The one the one thing.

You got to have better effort than that, right? Balls on the ground, maybe the whole thing, but the one thing that continues to frustrate me as I pull for the Steelers is it seems like him and Kenny aren't on the same page a lot of the time. And, you know, whether it's, you know, breaking a choice right off the a different way than Kenny thinks, you're going to break it off or drops or, you know, penalties. I think that's one connection they could get a lot out of. Now, maybe the coordinator changes. Maybe it's a you know, it's a thing with the vibe in the locker room with some of the guys and maybe his vibe improves. Or maybe it's just him and Kenny getting in there and meeting every day one on one, because he's a really good player when he's on.

They could use him down the stretch. Chris, who is on your pod, who's on your show? What do you got for me? We got that is a great question. I know for sure we're going live in in about 30 minutes with my brother, Kyle, and Dr. Fax. We got a lot to talk about.

So it's crunch time. These these these these shows feel like playoff shows, man. You know, it's and it's Kyle as excited about Oregon as I am about my alma mater. You should be excited, man. I mean, this is this is awesome for you guys, dude.

I'm really happy for you. And I'm not even going to Chris. I'm not even gonna let my weekend in college football ruin your weekend in college football.

How could it? But Virginia Tech just stopped us like they always do. Like forty nine to seventeen. I got a community service award in the third quarter. OK, so so they had to run me out there.

The score is forty eight to seventeen. So you had a better weekend than me when it comes to rivalry football. So were you the one who turned the sprinklers on Virginia Tech when they went out on the field after the game to take team photos to commemorate? That's one of the best that's one of the best things we've done in in 20 years of losing this Commonwealth Cup.

Some people call it petty, but what do you want us to do, man? I mean, they weren't alone. Maybe they were set on a timer, right?

It could have been set on a timer. Could you know, Tech took advantage. They got a really cool picture on it. They're like, yeah, they're all sitting there in the sprinkler.

They won again. Whoop dee doo. You know, maybe you guys you guys should have turned the sprinkler on Ohio State over the years. Oh, no, no, no. The worry about it. Best turnabout is the last three years, sir.

It's the last 30 years. That's the best turnabout. You guys certainly sending Ryan Day to Texas A&M, maybe. All right, Chris, thank you, sir. Good to see you. Thank you, Red. You got a green light pod with Chris and Kyle Long. Everyone should check it out. It will be live on their YouTube page shortly.

And then, of course, wherever you get your podcast. Might be taking on Kyle Long's Oregon Ducks in the Rose Bowl. That's entirely possible in the ether signed for a college football playoff.

Sold. That might be happening. It'd be good for you. Well, that means we make it. Well, it means you go to the game. Oh, well, that would be terrific.

And I keep talking in this cadence. I can't wait. Dude, 16 minutes from now, it's going to be great. It's just going to be awesome. Why is that awesome for everyone on planet Earth?

Interesting. Certainly for our radio affiliates in the great state of Michigan. It'll be great. Don't move. We still have lots to talk about. Eight, four, four to a four rich number to tell to have a conversation as well.

I know people worship that movie putting on airs.

The podcast is on YouTube and wherever you listen. What does an NFL team get with Jalen Hurts? Well, I'm a dog, a relentless competitor, and I'm going to work my tail off every day and try to win ballgames. I mean, I've done a pretty good job of that. And and just most importantly, impacting the people around me to my best ability. I think that's the biggest thing is kind of got to impact guys and bring guys with them and, you know, just just bring a bring a presence about himself to the organization and to the program.

So I'm looking forward to what the future holds for me and I just continue to work my tail off and try to take that every day to be the best player quarterback man I can be. So what what what questions are you asked? I mean, what what more do you need to, in your estimation, put out there that that you're being asked about? Well, you know, Rich, it's it's it's a it's a process, you know, and it's something that I've never experienced and and, you know, they pretty much just asked me questions to try and get a better feel of who I am as a person, as a leader, you know, and as a ball.

Right. So it's it's very unique in my position because I've I've had so many different offensive coordinators and I've been around so many great minds in the game. So these coaches simply want to, you know, know what I know. They know I know ball. They know I've been well taught from each and every coach. So me spitting back the things that I know and showing them, you know, that I'm a student of the game and I'm very knowledgeable with what I know and what I'm doing. And Jalen Hurts pre draft, I'm telling everybody what he's going to do.

And he's done all of it. Dog back here on the Rich Eisen show. Stream the NFL on Westwood One for free, sponsored by AutoZone all season long. Pre draft, he called and said, I'm a team that gets me that you're going to get a dog. I mean, and he was right. I mean, it's great. It was just great.

And then I looked at the screen and I said, it's March 30th, 2020. I looked around at guys in the room here and I'm like, what was our lives like? I mean, we were 52, two weeks, 15 days into quarantine. Right. But we decided to still do the show here. And, you know, we all said we're just going to stay apart. We'll stay at home. We'll quarantine.

We have no idea what this covid thing is. We all had to be accountable. Right. And I'm like, where were we? He said we were fighting bots because we were on our you were only on YouTube. And we had comments. People were commenting amongst all the bots talking about how they would, you know, they would love us a lot and stuff like that.

And we called him the four or five fours because I had an Uber rating of just four point five four. And it's funny that you said that. OK, and I'm bringing this up because when I was in London. I'm on the field. I think it was before the Ravens Titans game, I think it could have been in Germany.

I don't know. It was one of the games in Europe. And somebody I think it was the one in Germany.

There's a last one in Germany. And somebody, a Brit, who was there covering the game, came up to me and asked me if my Uber rating had improved. And recorded me with his camera crew recorded me looking at my Uber rating, which I had not done in a while. It went up to a five five. Would you guess what? No, no, no, no, no. It was a four five four.

I know. But did you get up to five five? I think you're four six or something, right? Four seven. Four, five, nine. Hey, slow and steady wins the race.

That's right. Three years. It's like it's it's damn near points, point five point.

Oh, five and three years. I've been great. And I've been doing everything you said to my coaches.

Like Rich, I school you. I've done everything except do what you do, which is sit in the front seat, which is weird. No, no, no, you can't. I don't sit in the front seat as much anymore because you used to tell me sit in the front. You got to go front seat, which I know you don't. I thought Brockman Brockman does it.

And I don't know. I will say that out of here, the greatest Uber ride that we collectively shared was when Del Tufa was sitting in the front seat. Well, but that was right before the Super Bowl in Miami between the Chiefs and the Niners when we all took Uber to to work together.

That's what it was all for. But you were forced to sit in the front seat because there were no other seats in the car with all four of us going together. I choose the front.

I know you do. I go right to the front. But when there's another drive, Chris, back me up here.

TJ, back me up here. If you have choice of any seat in the car, I go front and he goes front. It's like first class. No, it's not.

No, it's not. If I'm a driver. Oh, no, I'm a driver. Do you really want you to sit up? We're not talking driver. We're talking about my first class say me sitting in the front seat would improve my rating, which comes from the driver. I would look if I'm an Uber driver and somebody sits in the front seat, I would look at it and only, you know, a certain part of our audience will understand this. It's the same thing as me at a urinal and somebody comes up just next to mine.

Like what? And you've got 10 more to choose from in there. Your parents are in the studio. Hold on the space you guys do at the same time.

You become the driver's friend. There's a whole method to my man. Mike, I'll say this, though.

Like I should be like Tony Robbins of Boobers. You guys are arguing with the guy who has the highest. I understand. I think I'm a four nine four. I went up. He might be onto something like I'm right there. I'm at the five.

I'm a child. That's what I was doing. I was just checking mine right now. What do you got?

I don't think I think I've taken many car services in the last. So what do you got? That's what you're reading. Hold on. It's opening. Yours is still four nine and change four nine. Yeah, four nine. Hold on. Four nine.

It was a four nine four. Oh, my God. Yeah. Yeah. That's crazy. And I took an Uber ride last week. Terrible at looking stuff up on the it's very easy. Uber opened up. Look at it.

If my app isn't opening fast enough, how is that my fault? Do you know what your rating is? Yeah, I'm a four eight nine four eight five four eight five.

Have you guys ever driven in a car frequently in an Uber with somebody who always opens the windows and goes poof because the driver's cologne over whelms her olfactory. See, when I go there, they're going down. The person became a her of a son going out on the road. You don't want to go down. I know that. I understand that road.

It's not as dicey, but I'm feeling my own. What? Because my team won on Saturday.

What her would Ricks be in an Uber with? I had no idea. By the way, Syracuse won. We're bowl eligible. Look at us. We're back. OK, we're back. Hey, guess what?

I don't have it. When we come back, we're going to talk about the big game. Oh, it's going to be great. The Cowboys and. Yeah, no, that's not the Cowboys for us. We talk survivor series.

Yeah. Literally, when you came on the air and said that, and I thought to myself, what did Jeff Probst do? I literally thought that because also that's all Coop is watching. That's all he does. You guys know Coop. That's all Coop does is watch. Old survivors, he loves it. Old survivors, he doesn't like sometimes it's like season 13, season 25.

Season ones don't hold up to the old ones, I don't think. But he loves the competitions. He loves the competition.

They've changed the game. He doesn't really he doesn't like the tribal council stuff. He likes the games. Yeah, he likes the games. Yeah.

And, you know, and challenges. And I think he loves the Jeff Probst move, which is. Oh, at the end, the winner, he raises both arms. He's been doing that for 45 seasons. Yeah, yeah. You know, he puts his hands up like the winner, like like touchdown years, but his fingers go straight up like this.

I yeah, I worked on one of the first final when they win immunity. Goes like this. Coop loves the Probst.

He loves the Probst. It is like 2000. So I thought that's what you were referring to, but very much not. No, definitely not, because that was like the first of those.

Yeah, that last year. We're not watching wrestling in our house. We're watching old survivors.

You're missing out because it was great. Zandt cannot stop watching the Kardashians, which drives me insane. That's not great. Oh, Kardashians walk. Not great. And Taylor watches Minecraft videos. OK.

Parenting 101, baby. For decades, Rolling Stone has set the bar for entertainment publications. Today, Rolling Stone music now takes over in podcast form. We have Michael Azerrad, who was Nirvana's very first biographer. I'm not sure how many people realize how many of the best songs on Inutero were written way beforehand. To be fair to Kurt, he was also a new father. There was a lot of stuff distracting him. It wasn't just drugs, although that was certainly a major factor. Rolling Stone music now, wherever you listen.
