Now everybody going to go look it up. This ain't a game. We don't do this for fun. You know what I mean? We're on this.

I'm with it. I appreciate y'all.

Okay, now take us through the beginning just so people can get to know Royce Keys. you know, talk to us about your your early life. And when you got bit by the wrestling bug. Man, shoot, I'm from a I'm from a two square mile city in the Bay, you know, East Palo Alto.

So it used to be the former murder capital of the United States. You know, like it's very small out there in the Bay. Man, wrestling, I tell everybody wrestling was on in my house before. I was even thought of because my grandparents took a greyhound with my daddy from Mississippi. And they moved right across the street from the Cow Palace.

So they used to go to wrestling shows every other weekend and see Ray Stevens, Pat Patterson, High Chief Peter Mabia, Kenji Shibuya, Pepper Gomez.

So by the time I came home, wrestling was already on in the house. And man, that bug hit me probably from the time I came home, man. Just sitting on the couch with Big Mama and Papa. I love that. You know, my story here with this show is that was me and my grandfather, man.

That was our thing was wrestling. And every Saturday at 6.05, whatever you was watching, better be over at 6.04 because 6.05, we were turning on wrestling. Yep, yep, yep. I remember that.

Now As you know, you chose this journey. to go into the squared circle. Do you have a welcome to wrestling moment wherein the real kind of hit? It's one thing, you know, to fight with your family, you know, in the backyard getting in trouble, but like, When you got in, you know, in between the ropes, was there ever a welcome to wrestling moment that you can pinpoint? Probably I think my first like real Welcome to Rest of the Moment was when I was training.

I ordered some uh generic boots That didn't fit, had to stuff them a little bit, wear double socks, and I ordered some generic. Tights. And we had just learned how to, you know, Get thrown over the top rope. And so, the school I was training at that week, they were putting on a show. And somebody didn't show up, so what they do, they threw me into battle royal.

Man, that was that was my royal rumble. Man, I'm in there with some vets from uh the Indies, man. And let alone, man, as soon as I got in there, everybody got a hold of me, man. Chop, chop, punch, punch, nothing.

Somebody grabbed me, it's time for you to go, and right over, and that was it, man.

So that was like, I got a little taste of that, man. I'm like, dig, ain't nothing topping this right here, but it was, it was on after that. Yeah.

Now, what what's something that, you know, fans Need to like perceive a little bit better when it comes to actually doing the things that you guys do. We've talked about it a few times on the show. If the WWE would just put a ring on the outside of these arenas for pay-per-view PLEs and just let fans run the ropes, let them feel that rope burn on that cable. Yeah, exactly. Try it out.

You think this is a game? Like, try it out. My ass is black. You know what I mean? And when I hit the ropes coming home, learning how to do that, I have marks across my back, man.

I had to build up a callus. You know what I'm saying? That junk hurts. Like, man, you got to build up a callus. You got to build up a tolerance.

And I tell people, man, and especially y'all, not everybody can do this. You you gotta be, you know, mentally playing with a full deck and not be there. And, you know, like it takes special people to to be in this business and do this. And, you know, I just, man. Uh it gets under my skin how people think that This is so Bony.

You know, it's like this is real life things we do. Like, accidents happen, but you know, I'm all for WWE putting a ring outside of. Arena for these PLEs, get a little taste of it, you know. Just a little. Sign the waiver.

Just a little. Sign the waiver. Step up your back, Callis. Yeah, sign the waiver, take a bump or two. What was it like when you first started taking bumps?

Hurt. It hurt. My whole body was sore. Man, I kid you not, and it's on my uh my Instagram page. My very first match.

That's about 145, 150 pounds. Mm-hmm. You know, so like it it hurt. Like just going through going to training three to four days a week, man, you know, especially after work, you know, eight, twelve hour shift, and you know, you gotta. Go to the warehouse and train and do what you want to do.

And, you know, it's just, you got to have a love for it, you got to be possessed with it. you know Now, we know, you know, with Stephanie McMahon's podcast, you know, what's your story? We've heard about the hardships that you've had to You know, you just had to go through, you know, things that. People usually don't have to take on as they reach you know the mountain that you've reached today losing the family members that you have and keeping your strength and keeping your focus. I want you to take time right now.

Just. F Do you think on this road that we wouldn't have the Royce Keys we have today without them. I gotta say one hundred percent my grandparents. Mm. My my my big mama and my papa, like raised their kids and and turned around and Ernie.

raised my siblings and I raised their grandkids like They didn't have to do that. You know, that wasn't their job. We weren't their responsibility. You know, they they did their part with their children.

So it was. Without it now, it had to be my grandparents 'cause Man, I just think about where I could be. Right now, like my grandma didn't play. Like during the summertime, if the streetlights was on during daylight savings and those street lights were on and it was still sun out. And she told you, get your butt in the house.

Like, if you want in the house, man, she'd go out and make you go to the backyard. We had this plum tree. the head The branch is on a hassle. Horrible whip action. You know what I'm saying?

Come on, just snap back on that and. Emal just the You know, the structure they provided for us and taught us, like, I would definitely either be in San Quentin. or probably Alta Bates Cemetery if it wasn't for them. Look if you've never had to go in the back port backyard and grab your own switch Good for you, is all I'm going to say. Because if you've never had to go get your own instrument of destruction from a tree, and you know, Royce, you can't pick one that's too flimsy.

No, because then they're going to go out there and get the switch. Yeah, yeah. My grandma was about five, five, and you know, she. There's been plenty of times I tried to grab a little flimsy one that was real low. And, you know, it would probably about five, 10 minutes of her trying to jump up and.

Get one of these tree branches and be laughing at her and all that.

Now you're making her work. No, you're doing yourself a disservice. You got to get one that's not too big, but not too flimsy. Because if they got to go get it, like I said, oh, I do not miss the switch days. Bro, y'all, y'all just had flashbacks.

Y'all, victims, bro. Yeah, I'm second and shaking. It didn't happen a lot because I was smart. Didn't take many times. I, you know, I just sat in the corner and read books afterwards.

So now. Everything that you have gone through, everything that you had to overcome. The the people who help push you along the way. To you making your entrance at a Royal Rumble. Yeah.

Talk to us about what that felt like. Number one, to know that you're in the rumble. Yeah.

Then when you step out of that curtain And what's going through your mind? It was a lot, man. I was getting flashbacks because we used to have Royal Rumbles in my front yard. Yeah.

Like, as a kid, like, I would name this one, like my so my grandpa, my papa was cool like that. You know, he. He always sat in the back of his trucks eating, you know, his peanuts or, you know, listening to the ball game on his radio. And, you know, my friends will come over from the neighborhood and play, and we have a Royal Rumble. We get thrown over this little, this little metal wire fence we had.

But I was getting flashbacks from that and just being on. one of the core four WWE, P L E's, Royal Rumble, like It's a debut from there. Like the whole. The whole transition was getting there was. It was wild.

It took me 26 hours to get there. Ooh, ooh. 26 hours. Oh man. And then, you know, when I was in my room, you know, I got left on a Wednesday, got there Friday.

And I called Triple H. I was like, hey, do you know do you think I'll be able to? You know, go down this hotel gym and get a workout in because I got to work out. And it was silence on the phone. And I'm like, man, like, it's silence on the phone.

I'm thinking back when I used to get in trouble. And the silence means no.

So, but, you know. Triple H is a gym dude and he made it possible, man. I had the hotel bring some weight equipment to my room. Because I couldn't be out. I was a surprise.

Nobody knew I was there.

So for a certain uh people knew But man, getting to the... to the arena and, you know A few people saw me, just the love I got. And then, when people found out I was there, and just the love from the locker rooms, like it was crazy, like people I never knew. who knew who I was was you know tapping me up and welcoming me and Man, in gorilla, when my music played and it was time to go, like it was, it was on, man. Like, everything felt slow, like I was in a dream.

So that would that that was real cool, man. I just Man, just the energy from the crowd and just everything that I've been through in my life. previous with um Other wrestling organizations just to get to this point. It was amazing.

So, Royce, back a few months ago, we were in San Francisco for the Super Bowl and We had CM Punk on the podcast, and he had some words about you.

So, we want to just let you see this real quick and get your thoughts. The NXT is Stacked. Voice Keys. I think, yeah, shout out. Let's talk about the name for a minute because we're here, we're going to talk about it.

Uh wrestling fans. are so interesting because they complain about everything. everything. Like if They they they would com Powerhouse Hobbs. Cool name.

Pretty dope. Right? This is a new start. And I think Royce Keyes is a pretty badass name. I dug it off the bat.

Everyone's immediately going to poo-poo on it because they're used to. Hobs. This is a status quo. People will. Always not like new things, but then they'll demand new things.

So when you made your debut in The Rumble, your former name popped up, and that's what got the crowd to pop. And then we saw Royce Key.

So talk to us about two things, how you came up with the name and then what it felt like, dog, for you to hear that crowd. You briefly touched on it prior to this, but like once we saw your new name and the pop that you got.

Well, the new name, man, it's just a... Old name popped up, new name arrived. It means it's a new beginning, it's a new chapter. Um We're not going. you know, dwell on the past.

We're here for new beginnings. As far as the name goes, um... My middle son, his name is Royce.

Okay. I mean, man, that's I love all my kids the same, but that that's that's my twin, man. Like, yeah, it's just man.

So I was like, okay. Royce. keys is is dedication to my mother.

So, man, I can't fumble the ball, you know, with rocking two names of people that I care about, you know.

So, my mom's no longer here, you know, and so it's just, I take, Pride in having both those names and represent them every time I. Go out to the ring, or anytime I represent this company, anytime anybody sees me walking on the street and they say, Hey, Royce, you know, or are you Royce Keys? Yeah, I got to represent them.

So. You know, I I can't mess up. Do you find that Punk was right though? Were you getting some pushback online? Because we know I'm getting pushback every day.

You know, the thing about it, the only thing about it, it used to bother me, but you know, I'm. Everybody always got something to say. You know, if I don't do this a certain way, somebody's going to be mad. If I sneeze the wrong way, oh, he didn't sneeze right, or you know, just. You know, people Always have something to say.

I tell my kids: not everybody's going to like you. Yeah.

Not everybody's meant to like you.

So you take everything negative someone has to say, you know, that's their opinion. They're entitled to that. you know but You know, you do have some people that, you know, want to want to cross the line and, you know, will. I can't be that person who I used to be. You know what I'm saying?

Not in this position. You know, because I got a lot. I got a lot to lose. I got a lot on the table. You know, I just had.

I just had Royce Keys Day on July 23rd and in East Palo Alto.

So I got a whole city riding for me. I got a whole bag. You know, it's just not about me. It's about so many other people that I feel I need to take care of, that I want to take care of. Just me accepting that award and just.

Seeing people I grew up with, you know, some people that, you know, that I used to hang out with that. That were incarcerated, that are out, and how they told me they're proud of me, just sitting there looking at their kids, these little kids with these big eyes, just looking at me like that's the motivation I need, you know, and then that's something you know, I won't let them down, I won't let my kids down, I won't let my family down, you know, so I'm running with the ball. Nice. And July 23rd, the best day of the year, because it's my birthday. Oh, okay.

Happy birthday. Happy birthday. Appreciate it. All right.

So now you mentioned. high chief, he might be and now SummerSlam, he's I mean, you're intertwined with the bloodline, right? Yep. Kind of weird, right? Yeah, I mean.

How'd you and Jacob? Your friendship gets started because you guys are going to be going at it.

So, how did you get that? Yeah, man, we go back about 14 years, man. And people, like, some people. Want to call a bluff on that? Nah, me and me and that dude go back.

He's talking about. Being caught up in snowstorms, blizzards, like, you know, leaving Reno, driving back to the bay, driving five miles an hour, you know, driving 10 hours from the bay to Vegas to do a show and back home, you know, to make sure we get back to work and doing trainings and, you know, small indie bookings. It's like we go back.

So but it's just one of these things, man, where Sometimes you gotta you gotta fight your people's. you know get your point across yeah it it you know it It never really felt like you were cool. With him following Roman the way that he has. And what goes through your mind when you see.

Well, that's not him. That's not him. He ain't never been to Jacob. goes to his own beat. You know what I'm saying?

Like, he did that. That's not him. You know, you only can try to reason with somebody so many times. And, you know, he crossed the line when he put that chair around my head. You know, so.

You know, at the at this point it is is on.

Now you you guys are going at it. You're teaming up with To Uso's brother, you know, with Solo Soko. Is there anything in your mind as we look at the graphic of SummerSlam in Minnesota this weekend? Um is there anything going through your mind where you Are watching your so-called teammate as well because the bloodline, you know, they. They ran things around here for quite a long time, and now they show in their face again.

Do you have to keep an eye on solo at the same time as you watching the Usos from across the ring? Good question. I keep my head on the swivel 24-7. That's just how I was raised. You know, my head is always on the swivel, so.

Um it You know, it It seems like I can trust them, but No, my my head is always on the swivel. Man, it it's a tough position to be in. It is definitely one of the... You got one of the matches that Really determine where things are going to go as far as the outlook of the bloodline and the story that they've brought. When you have that type of responsibility, when the company trusts you on.

You know, you're making your PLE, I mean, Royal Rumble, but as far as a match, you're going by SummerSlam. Like, you know, one of the big four. What does that mean to you personally? It means a lot. You know, I did.

During Mania week, you know, I sat down with the Ringer podcast, and I was, it was to my surprise that. Triple H Paul, you know, had his eye on me. You know, he knew who I was. and especially be put in this position. With These guys who have been established here for years, who are vets to the game, like.

It means that I'm in the right place. It means that they trust me.

So it's, you know, you just got to run with the ball, man. Like, when you, when you have, when you have an opportunity and you need to run the play, you got to run the play. Because who knows if this may come up again.

So you got to run it, man.

So this Saturday night, you LA Night, yeah.

So Coa taking on Jacob Hot II and the Usos in a huge six-man tag team match. Like you said, this is going to determine a lot of storylines going forward, right? There's maybe a balance of power, a power shift that could happen at the end of this.

So, what are you expecting, Royce? Let me ask you this. What should we expect on Monday after this match? What's going to go down? You expect the three of us to come to the aisle, walk down the aisle to the ring, and just say, hey, we put a stop to this.

The the bloodline the bloodline ain't gonna be running like how they used to. You know, his history can't repeat itself. Yeah, because it seems like you are three guys who definitely are standing up against it. LA Knight has a long list of grievances, right? It's like a CVS receipt of things.

And Solo, you know, he was in the family and now he's pushing back a little bit. And you, this is like your chance to really break out, man.

So I don't want to put any pressure on you. I want all the pressure. There you go. That's how I operate. I'm here for a reason.

So. I mean, now that you're in. WWE, you get to do some time, you've gotten it done a ro uh got to do a Royal Rumble. Obviously mania is mania. Is there any like I guess this is a little bit like your your dream match question, right?

Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.

So no, I'm gonna let you kick it. All right, well then let me ask you this, Royce. You know, uh, we'll make you know, we're family now. You're you're no contest for life, and so what we like to do is tell people you know. Whenever you're in town, we'll let you know where the spare key is.

You come on in and help yourself at home. But what we do is, you know, we got this DeLorean in the garage, bro, and we like to let our guests take it for a spin.

Okay. The reason we let you take it for a spin. I want you to go back in time, right? And I want you to pick five wrestlers that you would have a main event at WrestleMania with. Who from the past, or I guess even today?

Yeah.

But if it's a time machine, you know, you could go a little deeper. But yeah, who would be your dream? You say time machine. I like to go back.

Okay. Your dream WrestleMania matchups. Yeah.

Shit. I definitely want to go back and have a... A match with the Undertaker. I'm talking about attitude error undertaker, you know, maybe ministry of darkness undertaker like that. That's that's what I want to go back and have a natural.

Undertaker, okay. Um Another one I want to go have a match with would probably be uh Bobo Brazil.

Okay, take it way back, right. Like I would love to to work him. Another one I would do, I would love to. to work dusty roads.

Okay. Absolutely. Um What a great mind. This is a wrestling house for sure. Right.

Oh, I would love to wrestle Triple H. I don't talk about um You know, just Why right we had that uh A song, my time like that. That used to hate him, used to hate him growing up.

Well, he did his job. That was the point. Yeah, he did. He did. He did.

I turned on a video game and I'm tearing his ass up. All right.

So, we got you with the Taker, the Ministry of Darkness Taker, in particular, legendary Bobo Brazil, the legendary American Dream Dusty Rhodes, Triple H, and one more. It's one if I had to. It it'd probably be um I got two I want to say, but I'll pick one. No, you can. Hey, worst case, I'm going to tell you.

Negative triple thread. One's going to be Stone Cold Steve Austin. Absolutely. And another one probably have to be. B Eddie Guerrero.

Oh, yeah. Yeah, all these days. All these paydays are going to be great. Yeah, right. Great paydays.

Great paydays. He's got different styles clashing.

So, you know. Yeah.

I like that. You stone cold and Eddie in the triple threat. You got to watch Eddie in that one. Yeah, because he'll lie, cheat, and still on. Off top, off top.

Now, before we even keep going, we mentioned just congratulations to you. You did win the Andre the Giant battle last year. That was a good way to introduce yourself to people too who weren't that familiar with it. It's usually a good sign when you win that dude. Yeah, yeah.

Carry that out. That was amazing. Yeah now Our number one question, and I can't wait to ask you this one. You in a bar. I'm juice.

You in a bar is 50 dudes in a bar, and they are not about Royce Keys being in that bar. All right.

They're giving you the eye. They don't like the Bears. Yeah, I need. Oh, don't say that. I need you to pick a team of you and four other superstars to make sure.

Royce can get his keys to the car. And four superstars again of any era. Although it is. I'm gonna go with my wrestling dad. I'm gonna go with Mark Henry.

Bruce, I heard Mae Young was the toughest man in any room she was in. I heard, I heard she didn't give no F's. You know what I'm saying? I heard that.

So we got. Royce, go ahead. Mark Henry. Yep. Bing?

New Jack, Miss Mae Young, and you. I said that, man. We're rolling. Bro, why are y'all here at the same time? Oh my God.

The worst is going to be when Mae Young's beating up a bunch of dudes and they can't explain or express understanding. How are you going to explain that? Real man. And they're shouting, and shout out to man, New Jack. Yeah.

You want to see some wild time. Yeah, there's somebody's getting real messed up on this one. Yeah.

But the superstar of Royce Keys moving forward, what should we expect from you, man? Just expected me to bring that intensity. Me personally, everything that uh Negative happened in my life, but I bring it to the ring. Like, I'm here to hurt people. You know, win championships.

Be one of the most feared in this business, man.

So it's not just being your, you know, your standard big man, man. I'm here to, here to do it all. There's things that people don't know what Royce Keys can do.

So, and it's gonna be time I cut loose and let it out.

So. When you think of big man, you know that You know, but when people think of that uh the reincarnation of that hall of pain era you know it's probably That's what's up. And our first steps towards that happen this weekend as he travels to Minnesota for SummerSlam. Yep. And we can't wait to see you there, man.

Life is. What a good story, life is. And, like, you know, he said in San Francisco back then, the wrestlers he mentioned, you know, Ray Stevens, guys like that, those legendary battles at that Cow Palace.

So, you know, that was really cool. And since he's got a match at SummerSlam, we might as well continue and take a look at the SummerSlam card. You feel me? Absolutely. I mean, okay.

So, this is what we got here: Saturday, August the 1st. Straight out of Minnesota, we got Cody Rhodes against CM Punk for the undisputed WWE Championship. We've got For the women's world, I'm sorry, this is the women's world championship, correct? We have. Liv Morgan against E.O.

Scott. EO! And then, of course, we mentioned the six-man tag, the Usos, and Jacob Fatu taking on Royce Keys, Solo Sokoa, and L.A. Knight. Yeah.

And then we got Hell in the Cell. Oh, baby. Bro. I'm telling you. You got to watch yourself.

Because it's going to be one of them. I I I remember Us watching Oba at Mania. Like, man, please get this right. Please get this right. And I'm kinda having that same feeling.

I'm gonna be like, please, don't throw me for a loop. All right, he's gotta know where we is supposed to be. And you know, they're talking about Brock's never lost, Brock's never lost, hell in a cell, beating the Undertaker, too, by the way. Like, you know, it's not like he went up against, I'm not gonna diss nobody. I was going to, but I stopped myself.

I'm getting better with my toxicity. But. Yeah, man. Oba Brock. And you know, you know, they're going to want to make a statement with that, man.

Absolutely. You know, we're going to talk about Raw a little bit later. You and I were both there, but you know, there was a way in. On Monday, that didn't go. I don't know what their thought was.

Like, what do you think was going to happen? If you put Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar together inside a cage before you're ready to have them in a cage, something bad was going to happen. But Brock turned the tables. I guess he locked himself out of the cage. He didn't want to get in there with Oba.

And, you know, he cuts. Look to be honest they could have just raised the key Yeah, I mean, you know, I told her to my sister, I was like, Hold on, like, I'm not really locked in here, bro. We all watched it lower down. That's the first thing that Bear Kutcher said to me. He goes, There's a cage up there.

And I was like, Oh, yeah, there is.

So, why didn't they just okay? What? That's just a little nitpicky type thing. But yeah, you know, we uh, we didn't get any type of violence between the two of them. We got oh, Open's got to watch it, man, because eventually they're going to lock him up for beating up all these cops.

I mean, he leaned out a little bit, too, a little bit, a little bit, but of course, when he got listed at 302 pounds, in my mind, I'm like, There is no way Brock's coming in at. Under 305, and sure, sure, as anything, he came in three, but yeah, you know, there was a lot of people mad about that. That you know, it went down, but you know, it is what it is. You want to, you don't really want them to get it. What the hell did y'all want a real weigh-in as wrestling, right?

So, that's why we never do that.

So, I can't understand what the point was, you know. But hey, whatever, we're here for it.

And so I was like, you know what, let me make sure I'm there early. You know, just in case I can rub some elbows with somebody. I don't want no problems. I want to rub some elbows with some people, probably get some guests, like, you know, trying to do my networking thing. And boy, when they didn't put a wristband on me, I said, Shay, we're in trouble.

I was in there at three o'clock. Three o'clock. Show don't come on till five.

So I am in my seat by myself. All right, I don't got TJ, I don't got security, it's just me. And like watching them. Pile in the crowd into a dome. I'm looking at the main event ring.

Like, it's all type of stuff. I know. I'm not supposed to be here right now. And, you know, it's fine. I had some fun on Instagram live for those who saw.

I kept asking security. And maybe you'll be able to tell me. Where do they keep the banners in there? Anyway, what else? Or at least the retired jerseys?

So, you know. So by the time I was making my way over, you and Bear were like shaking hands. And I knew he knew you, so he was excited. But before we got to you, we were coming in through the back. Yeah.

And you know, we saw Braun Breaker doing his warm-ups as we've seen him before. Like he's twitches in the mirror in the band and then he just runs sprints in the back. I didn't really have a chance to talk to him, even though he ran right by us.

So we're making our way to the seat. And then I look up, and right outside a gorilla, there's Robert Roode, glorious. And he is talking to Oba Femi.

So, you know, Oba, Oba, four times, I had to go over. I didn't want to interrupt him because it was about. 15 minutes before show time, and he was starting the show.

So I go over, I tap him on the arm, and he kind of turns around. He looks at me, he's like, Yo, what's up, man?

So. Dap him up, say what's up, Oba, but then Bear's standing right there, right now. Bear Kutcher loves him some Oba feminine. Oh, okay. Here's people who Bear loves.

He loves Naomi. Smart. That's his number one. He asked me, Is she coming back soon? I said, You gotta talk to Bear.

So thankfully, they were standing right there, and he got to take a picture with them.

So. For me, you know, I don't have kids, you know. But that's my godson, and I got him into wrestling. And now he's telling his dad about storylines that I didn't even tell him about. Like we were in the car and he was saying something.

To be able to watch wrestling through the eyes of a kid like that is just, it was really one of the best days I had, knowing that I had a lot to do with him getting into wrestling and the fact that he got to see like. And then. The thing people most had a problem with was the Danhausen Joe Hendry concert. But here's the thing: you guys have been hyping up Joe Hendry, he sings. You've been hyping up Danhausen, you know, you're always gonna get some comedic element.

So they put them all together for a little sing song, you know. And the Mini Housings came out. Yeah.

And. People online, a lot of them felt strongly in a negative sense about it, but I just know this. Mario Lopez was sitting to my left. His son, by the way, who looks just like, if you just take Mario Lopez and shrink him down, looks just like his pop. Little Funko Pop.

My man was so hyped that whole show. Bear was so hyped. And it's like the kids are loving this.

So, he has adults. You might be like, oh. But the way people were acting like this was the worst thing ever, when we've seen an 80-year-old woman give birth to a hand, when we've seen the gobbledygooker, when we've seen. You know a guy who's in charge, maybe climbing into a casket to fornicate with a dead body? I mean, like, look.

There's been a lot of questionable things that we've seen on Wrestling in the Raw.

So, to say that this was the worst thing we've ever seen, stop lying to yourself, yo. It's okay, like, it cannot, first of all. It's The Go Home Show. What you want?

Some five-star classics for people who are going to get hurt and can't perform at SummerSlam? World Wrestling Entertainment. Relax. It's all right. You know better as a fan.

He uh, Jeff Jarretts him with the guitar, and then out comes Dom and JD, and they lay the beat down on Dan Hausen and Hendry.

And yeah, Kind of could expect it that way. Standing tall before the PLE. There it is, man. It's standard, it's a recipe, right? Yeah, come on that we've seen.

Forever. And y'all want to just like overreact. I'm not telling you you have to like it. I'm not telling you like, oh, you don't know wrestling. I was telling you, relax.

Yeah, it's not the end of the world. It wasn't the end of the show. Yeah, like, you don't care today. You don't care. But like I said, it was for the kids.

So then, what else do we have? Oh, we had, and they say it was the worst when the tag team match was good. And then I thought we had a great match between our boy all Ethan Ego Page. Yeah, in the great Rey Mysterio. There he is, all ego.

I thought this was an awesome match. And Ethan Page wins the match because he counted the 619 in a way that you don't technically. Typically see is Ray went to do it. He pulls the apron up. And blocks him, and he's able to use that momentum to get the pin.

I remember Ashton turned to me and was like, I've never seen anybody do that before. And I was like, Big brain, big brain on Ethan Page, and he got the dub. I thought that was a fun match. Yeah.

And you know, we don't know how many more times you're going to see Rey Mysterio. Like, there's less time, we have less time with him than we had previously.

So we know each time could be the last, but it was great just to see the legend Rey Mysterio up there. And, you know, he came over, said hi to the kids, got to say, because he and Barrett met at that flag football game that happened a few months ago. Oh, sick. He met Mario Lopez. Because, like I said, the kids just all came over and it's about the children.

So yeah, it was good to see Ray. Like I said, we don't know how many more times we're going to see the great Rey Mysterio.

So that was awesome. And he put on a great match. And also, shout out a little real quick to my buddy Ethan Page. You know. I'm a big time supporter.

But I I saw it happen with somebody else earlier in uh in the event too. When they not from LA, They just don't get that hometown cheater. He's from San Diego. That's like two hours away. I don't know them people.

You know, no matter how he's being booked, that's also Rusev. That's also always Rusev Day. And, you know, he's a Clipper fan, so he was at home. Which is why he got the loss. Ah!

They were going at it back and forth. Saul was using her athleticism. Of course, Raquel using her size and her power. And at one point, I was like, man, where is Roxanne? And then I'm telling you, like 10 seconds later, not even 10.

Not even 10. Roxanne pops up out of nowhere. And then as I turned to you, I was like, there's Roxanne. I see this little blonde hair just run by me out of the corner of my eye. And here comes Liv.

And she jumped in to kind of help Raquel get a little bit of vengeance to even things up. I know y'all probably thought she was coming out right now.

Sounded just like the record. Here comes EO, and you and I both screamed out. Yeah, man. And at one point, EO gets in the mix. She's fighting live.

And at one point, I was like, don't hurt EO. I screamed. Don't you do it.

So, you know, you've got Liv, Roxanne, helping Rock Hill, EO trying to balance out the sides. But there's a numbers this event. She's three on two. We need one more. And we don't believe you.

So at some point, Jessica Carr gets distracted. Yep. Looked like Sol was about to go for the Soul Snatcher. There she is. There's Roxanne.

Grabbed her at the right moment, pulled her face down on the ring post that led to Raquel. Cinching up the Tehanabaum, and at that point, I think everybody knew, like. Oh, this is going to happen. Yeah.

So you can't. This group you can't Treat them as anything less than the stars because now you're really diminishing what John did for them, right?

So, yeah, it makes sense. You got to keep them strong. I think they're just in a weird spot because, like, When the judgment day happened, And I mean like when Edge got kicked out. Which by the way, you and I still talk. I still, I think there was so much paws meat left on that bone that we didn't get because I forget who got hurt or a baby face got hurt at that time.

They needed to switch edge into that spot.

So he got stomped. And you saw those pictures earlier. That was Seth Rollins standing over him, triumphant for the moment, you know, winning this battle. Not the war yet, but he won this battle. Yep.

Because it was a good night for me. After the show goes off, you know, we get a little moment with the chief. As a crowd, as the home crowd. He look up at you. With your hands in the air like you just don't care.

It wasn't really, but He was pointing at you and I was like, What's up with your co-worker?

Well, no, that's before this. This is but the fact is, when he was in the ring, he was sitting there staring. I looked at you, I was like, Is he? And you were like, Yes, because I'll give you props when he came out. Yeah.

Now I'm sitting there, right? Like, I've only met Roman Reigns one time, and that's when we interviewed him in Indianapolis two years ago before the Rumble, where they told us we had six minutes and we got 10 minutes. And that was really. I was like, Dougie Fresh. Right.

But that's the only time I've ever met him.

Now, you got to see him at Saturday Night's Main Event a few weeks ago.

So I'm not expecting Roman Reigns to know me or remember me. I'm just, you know, a fan. I'm just going to shake his hand because that's what you do.

At first, my thought was he talking about Brockman because Brockman had said something, which I'm going to show you later because I know you didn't see it.

But it turns out he was talking about Seth.

So right off the bat, Roman is calling Seth my coworker. Yeah.

You know what? He's like, what's up with your coworker? Because Seth. The two days he was here last week, you know, we had some things to say about Roman. I was sent to the videos, yeah.

And so, uh, it was just cool getting to chop it up with Roman a little bit. You didn't want to take up too much of his time, but as you can see, uh, me and the travel chief there, and he told me that, yeah, he, I was like, well, wait a minute, so you've seen the show and the clips from Eisen's show, and he goes, Yeah, he goes, I watch all that and I don't know if I should tell you this, but I'm going to tell you this anyway. He did compliment Seth. He said, Seth does a great job at that stuff. He goes, He does a great job.

And then I told him, like, Yeah, you and I, we're trying, even on the Eisen Show, we're trying to hype up SummerSlam. And he goes, I really appreciate that. You know, sometimes, you know, Minnesota. You know, so he was like, but I appreciate the fact that you. You know, you're hyping up the show and being positive and promoting it.

And then, of course, before I left. I had to shoot the shot, right? And I said, I know you and O'Shea just saw each other. I said, matter of fact, he's probably going to be walking out here any second. I said, I know he asked you, but I'd be.

And it's just like, why people who have Roman as a favorite, like, We've seen the documentaries, we've seen everybody talking about it. That was a cool little showcase of that. Yeah, cool moment. So just know that I did tell him about that. One day you can, I will only say it now. I'll let you. But yeah, I told him. And he died laughing when I told you.

I don't know who to trust now. What do you mean that? Anyway, for those who remember that speech, he starts it off real crazy and drops a bomb on everybody there and is like. We're gonna go past this and then to find out that his family don't even call him that? One day, maybe we'll let him come on no contest, and you can share that with him.

His real name is going to be on no contest. But uh Something else happened. when we were sitting there because Next to me, two seats away, was uh was a A legendary figure. In the world of professional wrestling. Which is, by the way, I think the second or third time this has happened to me.

Oh, Hollywood. Right there in front of me. And it's just like a It was a moment of just like, oh my God, there's so much history. Like, I want to talk to you. About your son so bad because he's my hero and like Man, like, bro, when I was a kid, like, I had The Rocks booked.

Like, I had, like, and so, like, it was like. I get so excited to this day just to see her enjoying wrestling.

So, yeah, the rock's mom, Missata Johnson, she was sitting right next to me. And you pop this picture. Yeah, I was like, TJ, I need this. She, and let me just break it. It's the rock's mom.

We all know who the rock's mom is. But at one point, I was sitting next to her and we briefly spoke hi. And you know, sometimes you have your phone, right? Yeah.

And your phone will just. Light up. Yeah.

Her phone lit up. Randomly, and there's a her screensaver is a picture of her and Rock. And she sees me look at it because I kind of went, Oh, and she looks, she goes, Oh, that's my son. And I leaned in. I was like, oh, trust me.

Trust me.

Everybody knows. I know who you are. And she laughed. And it was just like. You know, just the kind of, you know, I love the show Young Rock.

I love that series and the way she was portrayed in that series. She just seems like an incredible woman. Everything we've ever known or heard about her, you know, the way she used to run wrestling and herself as well. And, you know, giving birth to one of the biggest stars, not in wrestling, but in the history of mankind, right?

So it was cool to kind of sit here next to his mom, Ms. Hata, and chop it up with her and the respect that she was getting from the wrestlers who would look over every single one. Particularly the Usos, you know, Stu, the cameraman. Yeah.

The guy Stu, he came running over and was showing her love. And it was really cool. And, you know, at some point. I can't remember who was cutting the promo in the ring, but somebody called someone an asshole. And she turns to me, she goes, What did he say?

And I'm like, Oh, wow.

So I leaned into her. I don't know if that's when you took this picture or not, but I leaned into her and I went, Well, he called him an a-hole because I couldn't bring myself to say it. I was like, He called him an a-hole. And she just looked at me and laughed and sat back because there was no way I was going to stay in front of her. But yeah, man, it was just really cool because I've seen her at so many matches throughout the years.

Just seems like a wonderful woman that everybody shows love and respect to.

So, and then you show me that you got that picture immediate. And I was like, Yo, dude, thank you for taking it. Bro, I know what I was like, he would want this right. That picture that we just showed of me whispering to her was so dope. And I wish you would have gotten the picture she had of.

Yeah, because she asked me for a picture, and I'm like, I've been, yep.

So, like, we took it, and I wanted to be like. Can you send me that picture? Maybe we should take one on my phone, but I don't want to bother her.

So, you know, let her do her thing. But I told her, I was like, your son, and I've told him on two occasions. Is my hero. Like, that is my guy. And I told him as such.

And I just want you, I just want to say thank you, you know? And I said to her, you know, when the phone popped up, and she goes, well, that's, you know, that's my son. I was like, I know. And I was like, well, is he going to be here? Because there was a seat, two seats between us.

And I was like, is he going to be here? She goes, nah, he's not going to be here today. Because I told her. That's good because if he would show up, I wouldn't know how to act. Yeah, right.

And if you and I would have heard. Yeah.

And hamburger. I don't know what we would have done. Yeah.

Oh my God. But yeah, so just wanted to give her her flowers and her respect and give a shout out. Burn that arena down. Yeah, it was really cool. That was a cool moment, man.

So, yeah. And the fact that, like, We have a rock cut out. We have the life size cut out with the turtleneck, the chain, and the fanny pack. I've got it in the studio. I keep it by my desk with one of a Hawaiian shirt that, or I guess a fake Versace shirt that I bought.

So, yeah, that was awesome, man. It was all in all. For everyone complaining, maybe that's how it was on TV, but there in the building, it was a load of fun, man. And also, sorry, Chuck, but. When you're live.

He had some things to say about the tribal chief, which I personally didn't like. And Seth. He went along with it, but I had to bring something up to Seth, which I think you're going to like.

And I've got a bit of a bone to pick.

Okay, here's the deal: it's been how many years, and this guy's still looking for acknowledgement? Like, are you a only child begging for acceptance and love? Like, what is going on with this? What are we doing? Enough with that.

Oh, is he now? I mean, you know that. I just saw O'Shea not that long ago. I heard. He looked at me, he smiled, gave me a big old hug.

He was so, he's in, he's in backstage at one of our shows this past weekend. He was right there, started the main event. It was a terrible night for me, but at the end of the day, he was there and he was all like gladhanding me like we were best friends, you know? And then he comes out here and he does something like that. And I got to ask myself, what are we doing here, guys?

What are we doing here? You're right, Brockman. Are we going to? How much acknowledgement does it? Does this guy need?

You know, how much do we need to just put a finger in the air and acknowledge Roman Reigns? How longer is this going to go on? What is this? What kind of validation are you seeking, sir? Like, how much do you really need?

Like, come on, get over it. We get it. Tribal Chief, head of the table, yada, yada, yada. You got the teeth. You know, it's all there.

We get it. We've acknowledged you. Plenty. San to move on. Let's move on.

You know, Brockman says he's over-acknowledging Roman, and you're like, we're acknowledging this. Am I wrong for pointing out that? You kind of caused all this, maybe? How did I cause this? What have I caused?

Well, a certain still chair shot to the back changed everything. And that led us on the path that we're on right now.

So I'm look, man, I ain't got the dog in the fight. I like you both, but I'm just saying, like, I have a uh, so I did it. I'll tell you this: you're right, you're right. I, I, I created the trajectory that we're all on right now. I did that way back in 2014 when I broke up the shield by putting a chair in Roman's back.

And like last time you're here, we correlated it to the Celtics breaking up Brown and Tatum. There you go. All right.

Now, all disclosure, I was in Texas that day. I was at all in. You're texting me.

Now you you claim to like Colby, but not like Seth, but You didn't just text me, then you called me. And there was panic in your voice. Yeah, bro. You were like, dude, Seth's hurt. Seth's hurt.

You were very, very shook, which now I can understand. Yeah.

You're being mad.

So Seth Rollins, he came. He hosted the Rich Hisen show. He has a brace on. He has crutches. We all assume the knee-wheelie thing.

We all assume. No, he didn't have that. No. We all assume this was legit. But I'm a wrestling fan.

So I always know there's like 1% chance that something can't be on the up and up. We find out. He wasn't hurt. Yeah, how about that? But we played a part in the ruse of the century.

Now, the reason I'm bringing this up to you is. On Friday, oh my god, we were visited by, by the way, I got to say this: my birthday was on Wednesday, Thursday. Yeah.

We got sent donuts by the man Becky Lynch. Becky Lynch bought donuts to the set on Thursday, and then she dropped them off. And then we said, Hey, we should have Becky on the show on Friday. Seth asked her, Absolutely.

So Becky Lynch was on the Rich Eisen show Friday. She came on, and I had to bring out how her husband made her lie to people. And I don't think she liked that too much. I can lie, you know, if it's part of the thing. You know, I find it hard to lie to my friends, okay.

You know, like his dad texts me right after and was like, What's going on with Colby? and I I I Do I tell his dad? I don't know how deep he wants to go with this, you know? It was, yeah, is our Aunt Arlene going to tell people? I don't know, you know.

I had to like get my brother and my dad on a group chat and be like, hey, listen, here's the deal. This is after the fact. I didn't tell anybody before the fact.

So, like, everybody was on a group chat. It's fine. Just shut up about it. Don't say anything about it. Yeah.

But you were a part of it. You put up a video of me on the crutches. Yeah, I can lie to the general public. No, I just can't lie to my friend. Like, Bianca was texting me and she was like, oh no, I think Seth just got hurt.

I think Seth just got hurt. Do you want me to go check on him? Do you want me to go check on him? I think he's in the trainer's room right now. Will I go?

And I was like, um. Uh I'm sure he'll text me. She's like, wait, is this a work? Actually, I'm just going to stop texting you. She got it.

I mean, yeah, you, you know, but then we went out for dinner with them, and he went out with his crutches. Yeah, you told me.

So we really kept that light going. It was, it was unreasonable. Like, it was, I went to unreasonable lengths, like 100%. And she was there every step of the way, supported me. Through thickness.

Support the lie. It was beautiful. It was beautiful. Now, Becky, were you in on how he was going to reveal at SummerSlam last year with the drop? I was I was yeah, I was I was on the bus when that conversation happened.

You were? Yeah.

Yeah, she was a consultant. Yes, I I I was uh a staunch believer that you shouldn't be in your gear. They wanted you in your gear. And I was like, you can't be in his gear. Yeah, the initial was, oh, you're coming out because you're cashing in.

You know, you have to have it be in your gear because it's going to be a match. And she was foolish. She was like, absolutely not. If you're in your gear, then they know it's a dead giveaway. Don't do it.

Right. You know, but I was. Yeah, I don't know. Listen to the man. Always listen to the man.

That was well done right there. Thank you, Doug. It's like watching the Americans. You ever see that show? I remember it, but I didn't really watch it.

It was just a bunch of spies. A bunch of spies just letting us all believe this. nonsense and then they Unveiled it. It's probably the coolest thing for a couple to do. But yeah, if you if you get if you get a chance, check out some of the YouTube videos you can look it up.

It was it was really cool to have Becky and you know, Seth, Seth, You could tell he was a little nervous, man. It was the first time he's ever interviewed his wife like that. And she shared the story about how he met, like what kind of game he spit. And I asked her, Was she into it at first? And she was like, No.

But yeah, so go ahead and check that out. That was a great appearance. And you know, at the end of the show, I did extend invites. Yeah.

You know, I said. You know, I brought up the fact that Oba Femi was a four-time guest here, and I was listing all the people who've been guests. And I said, You know, who hasn't been a guest set? He's like, Who? And I'm like, You.

What do you mean? You. And he goes, Oh, well, he goes, Yeah. And I said, Look, I figured maybe you didn't like us because O'Shea is always trash talking. He goes, No, I like half of you.

Yeah, that was me.

Well, come see that half. That was the half.

So hopefully. I put it out there. At some point, we'll get the man Becky Lynch on this, and hopefully at some point. We can get Seth to come. I don't know, though, because this man's always talking bad.

So maybe we'll invite Colby and then Seth can just tag along. I think that's the best way to do it. Yeah, that's better.

Now you're thinking, now you're cooking with gas, man. But yeah, great, great, great interview. It was great to kind of see that. Like I told Seth, man, last week he did five hours of live television, which, as you know, no one really does five hours of live TV in a day, right? He did good morning football for two, came here for three.

And I told him, look, Brent Hart never did five hours of live hosting. Roddy Piper, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold, The Rock, none of them ever did what Seth Rollins got to do those two days.

So it was just really cool as a wrestling fan to be able to. And of course, he does a good job talking other sports, a lot of football talk. And, you know, it was fun. It was really fun, really cool to have him be a part of this. And like Roman Reigns says, he's now my coworker.

Oh, man. I'm glad you said all that. His self-esteem needed it. Listen. Anyway, y'all, it's been a great show.
