Hey, yo, it's me, it's me. It's the T-O-O, the J-I-G-G, two Jigurt, TJ Jefferson. What up, man? We're on that road to SummerSlam and um... Train ain't stopping, it looks like.
No, no, no. And it's uh. I'm very excited for SummerSlam. It is my favorite pay-per-view. I know Mania is Mania, but SummerSlam.
It always goes down.
Something is going to happen. I can't think of a summer slam where something big didn't happen. And um Yeah, dude. Right now, one of the new matches that we haven't spoken about. They called us.
My man Nick Aldous, the sleeping dog himself, showing his fangs. And he's gonna begin Can't it? Come the You know, also, let me just say that sometimes when I say Gunther's name, I want to say Gunther. I want to say Gunther. I want to like.
There's a couple different ways you want to throw it out there, yeah. Exactly.
So, like, every time, I always have a little stumble before because I'm like. It's three ways for me to say it. She just doesn't want to be like Gunther. Yeah, Gunther. Gunther?
Yeah, poor Walter. If what I'm hearing is true. Wow. Poor Walter. Everyone got on Keith Lee about that tweet, but we all thought the same thing.
Yeah, in the moment, everybody thought what Keith Lee thought, but then all of a sudden, everyone went to try to trip on Keith Lee, which, by the way, I heard Keith Lee might have retired. I don't know, but man, hopefully, he's all right. I don't know if we'll get to see him again. I mean, once the food critic came, you saw the writing was on the wall. Keith Lee.
Oh, right. Once that happened, right?
Now there's a more famous Keith Lee. Like, come on, man. But yeah, everyone got on him about that tweet when we all thought the exact same thing. Yeah. There's certain tweets that are in like the Twitter Hall of Fame.
That is one of them. And another one is there was a guy who tweeted LeBron is third.
Well, LeBron is turning 30. There's not going to be much more of this nonsense. He's about to be 42. Little did he know. Yeah, little did he know.
And they, man. They give that dude the business, but you can't delete it. And there's that Hulk Hogan tweet where he was like, don't let a work, don't get worked by work or something. Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm doing. I'm going to have to look that up to now that I thought about it.
I'm going to have to look it up to, you know, quote it correctly. But that's one that goes around a lot. Tell us some more fame tweets for those people out there. Listening and commenting. And oh, yeah, we're going to get to them comments too.
'Cause we might have to start ourselves a little segment where we answer a couple of these live and in living color.
Well, it sounds like you got something on your mind. I mean, yeah, man, bro, there was a. First of all. First of all. There was somebody in the comments that said, Shay's out of it.
He must be drunk or something. Whoa! First of all, we shoot this at like 12 in the afternoon.
Well, people can get drunk in the movie. My God, dude. By the way, here's the tweet. Good night, Hulkamaniacs and Jabroni Marks without a life that don't know it'll work when you work a work. and work yourself into a shoot marks.
Yeah, that. And I didn't stumble. I read that as it was written. Hey. The ceiling is the roof.
Michael Jordan. Ceiling is the roof. Ceiling is the floor. But um yeah, we uh had Monday Night Raw. Not gonna lie.
Because that's not what they they pay me to do. Unless it's me playing pretend for money. That part. But. And It kind of felt like Just a commercial fest, first of all.
You know, if you watch on Netflix, It's really just hard to get into a groove. And I know my buddies at TKO, my buddies at WWE are like, Shay, XNA on the Uber. You ain't saying nothing that everybody else says. It's hard to watch. Anything's hard to watch.
I'm watching the Bear. Yeah. You get to a critical part.
Now I gotta wait between 30 seconds and two minutes. Like, why am I paying this money for Hulu to watch these commercials? If I get these ads, baby, and then yes, Chef. And you get punished. For watching on time.
Yeah, now you just the replay you wait an hour and then yeah, but like I don't, you know, I'll be on Twitter too much. People spoil stuff.
Well, that's on you. And I say that because. We don't really spoil stuff, but the other, about three weeks ago, I mentioned because it was all over social media that Cody and Jay were having a match for number one contenders. There were people in the comments mad at me like I ruined their life. Yeah, whoa, whoa, Jesus.
I can't believe I thought you were better than that. My guy, if you watch wrestling, then common sense would have told you where this was going anyway. And also, if it's, if I saw it and I don't spend that much time on social, that means it is out there for everybody to see. Look, I'm sorry if it ruined it for you, but it really shouldn't have ruined it. Like, if you didn't think Cody was going to get a match, then like, come on.
Come on now. And there was another comment that said. Cody won the number one contenders match. And then got Jumped.
So it's not like Seth. Just walking in and demanding a title shot. Yeah, fair point. Fair point. Tip of my cap to you, sir.
Fair point. But both, I'm fine with either one of them. I'm fine with a multi-time champion stepping to the front of the line. Yeah. Roman, I'm always number one.
Some people aren't. Yeah. Yeah. You know, some people don't like it, but it is what it is, man. That's just the world we live in.
Yeah. And. What else? What else? Wait, there's something, something, something, something.
Oh, yeah. For the spoiler thing. Spoiler thing. It's not like he said that Adam Sandler gets shot in the end of Uncut Gems. Yeah.
Exactly.
But I was, I mean, I was seriously like people were really tripping on me about this when it was something that I said this quick, like just randomly blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Oh, God, Cody gets a rematch. Yeah. It wasn't like we set it up. Wasn't like.
And again, it wasn't anything like you should have been surprised by. But look, if you were offended. Yeah. I'm sorry I offended you, and I'm sorry I ruined it. Yeah, I mean, it's not like, as far as spoilers go.
It's uh it's not like the guy said that Jon Snow's Yeah, stop it before you really ruin something. Yeah. From the You want to know, speaking of before we get going? Yeah. And I'm gonna say this, and it's gonna be a spoiler, but this movie's, what, 20 years old now?
I'll just say this. I didn't see the sixth cents.
So Over a year after it got released.
So in the theater, out the theater. I made it a whole year without knowing. And I was and I was pleasantly surprised that your ass was in the house. Like, Yeah. But yeah, I'm like, how do you go that long?
And not no, like, and no one spoiled it.
So, okay, I thank everyone who didn't spoil it for me. And I'm sorry if I spoiled this for you. I can't say it won't happen again because I don't know what's going to happen. Right. And it's not a crime.
It's not like the dude said Bruce Willis is dead the whole time. But I will say this: I'll say this again, and we'll move on. We don't necessarily have inside. We know people, right? But we don't have inside sources.
We're not like. You know, these insiders. But I was about to say, but the thing is, speaking of me not ruining things, I said this last week, we touched on it again. Around WrestleMania week, and I have a friend, a guy I know who works close to AEW. He basically gave me the next three months of television.
And I told him, I gave my word, I'm like, I won't say anything about this, which I didn't. But everything he told me was going to happen, every title change, every twist, every turn, I knew about because it was told to me.
So when people think that Kenny got the championship, Because CM Punk got the championship and AEW wanted to like counter-programming that. They read that a lot. I can promise you that is not the case. It was always planned for Kenny to have that belt. I knew, but I gave my word I wouldn't say anything.
Much like Baron Corbin coming back, I knew two months ago. Right. Baron He told Rich. They were at something in Kansas City called Big Slick, which is a great organization that raises money for children's hospitals in Kansas City. A lot of, you know, Local Kansas City celebrities like Paul Rudd, Jason Sudekis, Eric Stone Street.
By the way, people don't know this about Sudekis, has a nice mid-range jump shot. Really? Hell yeah. Oh, yeah, I have seen him shoot over water. You know, a bunch of Kansas City celebs who've made it big and they give back the community.
It is an amazing organization, big slick. But Rich was there with. Baron Corbin and he told Rich that he had re-signed with WWE, and Rich told me.
So I sat on that for like two months. And so yeah, I'm not, if I really wanted to ruin something or give spoilers, I would have told everything I knew, but I didn't. I kept my mouth shut because, you know, I'm trustworthy. I'm a trustworthy TJ. Exactly.
Trust me. And also, another thing. Uh The team loses the championship at the end of Coach Carter. That part. Yeah, man.
The old man runs squid games.
So let's get into. See, I didn't know that. Monday Night Raw. The ad fest that it was Another complaint that people had was that there weren't any women's matches.
Now normally This wouldn't matter to me. WWE. treats its women's division very well. But then it made me think of some Questions I got. And I want your opinion because you are my tag team partner.
Why? The hell? Does it feel that WWE don't do nothing with the women's titles. Right now. This is a rare, stale moment.
in the women's division where I'm like It doesn't have to be either.
Alright, so Liv got the title off the Care. How many times has she defended it? Has she? She hasn't. Then, you know Rhea Took it off Jade.
I'm waiting for her to do her thing and she gets hurt. And now the interim? In a room. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I thought we established, and whether it be K Fabe or how you guys actually do.
business that after thirty days You ain't defended that title. Tie to go up. Gotta come up often. All right. Shout out to WWE Vacant.
on Twitter. That man got yeah, that's the longest, the most tight brains of all. Come on now. And so it's like Interim. That interim doesn't sit well with me as a fan.
You got this ladder match coming up in SummerSlam.
So far, we know Tiffany Stratton, who we spoke to on the Ridge Island show. We'll get to that. Yeah, but we'll get to that later. And Jade Cargill. I love when they're together.
And we're waiting to see who else is going to be in this match. Three more women will fill out that card. But interim.
So when The Eradicator, Rhea Ripley, comes back. I'm just supposed to be okay with this?
Well, I mean, look, I I get it. Because I also put on Twitter, I was like, interim lame. I don't like interim. But you look back in history and you think of one of the greatest, just off the top of my head, one of the greatest moments of all time is Sean Michaels and Razor Ramon ladder match for the Intercontinental titles when there were two of those, right? You also have, you look back, CM Punk and John Cena.
Yes.
So technically, that wasn't an interim, I don't think. I think the Razor and Sean was. But look, ultimately. You know, sometimes I get mad and I don't like things, but then I have to rationalize it. And sometimes when I rationalize it, it makes me mad because, all right, I'm going to be a rational human being.
I'd rather just flip off the handle. But the bottom line is, you're going to get a championship match whenever Rhea comes back with her. Claiming one belt, whoever gets out of this ladder match, claiming the other one.
So then you're going to have a pretty nice women's championship match to kind of unify the interim and the normal belt, I guess.
So, in the big picture, I guess I'm okay with it. Right. Do that. I want to be mad. Like, you know what I mean?
Yeah. But I can't let you put the cape on me. I can't get super mad because I can, I don't like the interim, but I see past that and go, all right, Rey comes back.
Now you're going to have whoever wins this and her going at it, and there's going to be big stakes there. Like I said, I think interim is kind of we're not UFC here. They love the interim title, but. Ultimately, everything's gonna be all right. Everything is gonna be all right.
Why have to be rational, Shay? I get it, Isra. Rhea is there. They're golden child. Absolutely.
Deservedly so, because there's a lot of people chirping online like it's not Rhea Ripley. Rhea Bloody Ripley, the eradicator. Stop it. Thunder from down under. Yeah, I mean, but still, you hurt.
Right. Think how many people now I know I gave some Which I better would have given Bianca that interrupted I've given examples of times when it has worked, but also too look how many people we've seen stripped of championships. because they've been hurt. You know, so I get if you're upset about it, look, I did try to rationalize it, but if you're upset about it, you have every right for that to bother you because it doesn't seem like the rules are the same for everyone, but that's kind of you know how life is. And how about it?
The two people that it seems like the rules didn't. apply to where Live in Rhea. That's interesting. The fact that they were in a tag team. They were a tag team.

It's the WNBA on ESPN, all season long. And it'll never go back.
Well, you know what kind of bothers me is Liv had every reason to be every reason to be like Rhea turned on Liv, right? Liv just wanted to be her friend and tactic partner, then she. Beat her up so bad, remember? That was an uncomfortable butt kicking that Liv got way back in the day, right? Yep.
And it was like, then that was that turn, that kind of Rhea turn where she fully went hill, but then. You know, the relationship with Dom kind of put, and I'll you gotta give Dom a lot of credit because he came up with the mommy thing. The mommy thing was big in her evolution.
So, yeah, so all of that kind of made her the superstar that she is. But yeah, Rhea, I mean, Liv had. Every right to crash out on her. And like to think that, like, at the time, I thought that tag team was just like, eh, you know, just another one of those. You know, those tactics that they forced together.
They don't really show the necessary love. They don't give the respect to the tag team.
So it's like without that, without them being that tag team. we wouldn't get this oil and water that we have today. Yeah. So it's just like you never know. And that's the beauty.
Like, we never know. We all want to. Like where this I'm not going to say that we act like experts, but like we know the things that wrestling has taught us prior through other stories and everything. But at the end of the day, You never know what's going to stick to that wall and like what is going to lead into something crazy, like lives. The Liv Morgan that was in that tag team.
Is night and day to this young woman that we have right now. And that, and that Liv Morgan was night and day to the riot squad. Yeah. Remember when we had her on early in the pod? I admitted it to her: like, I was not a fan of yours, but it changed.
And she asked me, she went, so what changed? What was it? What did I do? And I was like, it wasn't anything specific you did. It was everything that you did.
And I could see. Every week. She's getting better and better in the ring, and every week she's getting more and more confident. I kind of believe it. And it's like, yeah, like, how can you not root for someone who you see is put, it's obvious they're putting in work.
Yeah. You know, and we know wrestling, they're. There's people with this. You know, really make those decisions. But also, you got to be on your job, right?
You got to make sure you're doing whatever's necessary to make sure that when you're in that position, you deserve it. And so, like, yeah, for a long time, Liv just grew on me because I could see her getting better and better and better.
So, you know. But we kind of buried the lead here, man. Saturday night's main event was this weekend. Yeah, you were in the building.
So, full disclosure, because you know, we keep it real here. This is gonna probably be a shorter interview because my man. I got to get him to the airport in about an hour or so because he's going to Detroit for big three. But last Wednesday, we did the pod. Yeah.
Dropped you off the airport. Right. You flew to New York because you were taking part in Fanatics Fest. Yeah. And then you went to.
Saturday Night Smoke event, and then you flew over to Chicago for big three.
So I told this story, you don't know this. I talked about you on the Rich Eisen show yesterday. Was it yeah, yesterday? I was like, my man put in work this weekend. Yeah, man.
So tell us about, you know, your Fanatics Fest time. Like I said, last year we were able to be a part of Fanatics Fest. Thought we had a great interview with Rey Mysterio. Yeah. Great crowd in front of us.
We didn't get asked back this year. Not going to lie. It was a little butthurt about that. I'm not going to front. I'm going to keep it real.
Yeah. A little disappointing, you know. But you got to go back because you took part in something really cool. Can you last week? You were like, you're not sure if you can talk about it, but now.
Um I didn't go to Fanatics Fest. Oh, you It was a separate thing. It was a separate thing. I was a little upset. I thought I was like, yeah, because I was looking at everything that was on Thursday at Fanatics Fest.
I was like, who I might be able to meet. You know, because when I go on these business trips, I'm here to rub elbows, baby.
Okay. I'm here to rub elbows. It's an elbow rubber. Yeah. Oh, elbow rubber.
And yeah.
So it was a separate thing. But it was Fnatics Fest Weekend. Yeah, exactly. Fnatics Fest Weekend. And I don't know if I could talk about it yet.
They said it'd be. What we did will be published in two weeks.
Okay. So can you without giving it away? Yeah. I had a very. I will say, I had a very interesting conversation about.
Family legacy. with a few individuals. And It was such a great conversation. Because It was almost therapeutic after a while. You know, because it's, you know, I don't get to have those.
Conversations with a lot of people. You know, there's few people that have. Um That that Kind of have to deal with the weight of legacy in the same way that I do coming from being Ice Cube's son. And so it was very refreshing to have that. And, you know, there's a number of superstars that.
Could have this conversation with me, so I don't feel like I'm giving. Too much away, but yeah, it was all that was the gist of it. It was a second generation type of thing. Yeah, yeah. And, you know, it was led by.
Uh Jacob Heyman, who is a That dude for twenty two years old is A smart dude, man. He's smart, and he, when he turns it on, He'll joke around with you. But when he turns it on, he's a machine. Like the dude is focused, he knows what he wants. And I told him, you know, anything that he need from me.
I got them because I know what it's like to have a A father with That much Legacy, you know, who has that type of stamp? on his industry. And So, you know, anything Jacob needs from me, I got him. But they treated me well. Of course, Paul Heyman was there and he made sure I was taken care of.
And of course, I was also like, hey, Paul. Couldn't help but notice that uh you guys are going to be in the garden. He was like, Yeah, Saturday night, made it man. You know, I've never seen wrestling in the garden. Is that all you wanna go?
2018. I mean, I'm in town, you know? And so, yeah, it was really nice. Went there and, you know, we've been taken care of before. Shout out to our buddy Chuck Rice.
What a chuck. To be a guest of Paul Heyman. Yeah, that's kinda dope. I got to see Gorilla. I was in Gorilla, and I'm like.
Ain't nobody realer than Gorilla. Boy, I was in there like. Like, man, I looked at Jacob Heyman. I was like, bro, I'm getting the sweats, dog. Like, I'm like.
Starting to get the end. Like, I'm like, I tried to do the cool celebrity guy thing, but like, man, I'm about to mark out. It's like, dude, I'm losing it. And, like, Paul Heyman is there, and he's like. Sitting at the table, looking over stuff, and I'm like, I want to look at what you're looking at so bad.
And I was looking at the chairs in there, and I was like, Jacob, do you know how much stress is in this leather? You know how much, like. Forehead rubbing has been in here, like, you know, and um. Looking at the lit up WWE logos, and then who do I see coming out the curtain? Our buddy Oba Femme.
Oh, okay.
So I see this. Yes, I see Oba and I dap up Oba and I'm like, yo, man, you know, what's good? And uh, he did ask about you. He was like, you know, where's Big Man? and a word?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then I had to tell Paul, they're like, you know, this dude got the record. Got the record for most times in the No Contest Wrestling Podcast. And he said, I should have three more. I'm like, three more?
Seven times? And then he did ask. Is anybody close to me? I said, Punk got three. He was like, all right, yeah, I gotta get some space.
I gotta get some space. And then after that, Michael Cole walked in. He was eating. I didn't look at what he was eating. I ain't weird like that.
But Michael Cole was in. I had to talk to Michael Cole a little bit. And then. You know, talk to him. Fellow New York Mets fan, Michael Cole.
Yeah, the Mets, man. You know, talking about the Mets. Cancel baseball, Michael Cole. That's how I'm feeling. He saw me because I was, you know, me, I'm a natural heel.
I had to toe in Dodger gear. Yeah. Head to toe and die. Mind you, he's in. Not just New York City.
He's in the Mecca. He's in Madison Square Gardens. Yeah, and the Dodgers were in town and they just beat the Yankees. It was crazy. Michael Cole loved it.
He said, Love it. Love it, man. And um Yeah, from there, I look at the screen and I'm watching like the rehearsal. I'm like. As a fan, I'm like, I am not supposed to be in here.
Like, do I got to take my shoes off? Like, it is like, this is crazy. And then Jessica Carr came out in Trump's Crooked Carr. Yeah. We'll get to that.
Charles Robinson and like you know I I like I got to talk to the refs and and you know, talking to Oba and Watching uh uh Paul Heyman do his thing and you know I'm I'm I'm looking at The rehearsal. Remember, you don't like Cow Unreal, so you don't want to give away too much. Yeah, dog. I know what you told me. I don't know if you want to play that out.
It's like. It was just so cool to see. Yeah. And it trips me out. And then.
Who comes through the curtain? Seth And I go up to Seth Rollins and, you know Jap them up, say what's up. And uh here's uh his TJ here. Where's his big ass at? Everybody's just like big man.
Time out. Time out. Time out. So, two of my favorite wrestlers, two of the biggest stars in wrestling, both asked about me individually. Because they know we didn't.
We a tandem, bro. We gotta I know if one here, the other gotta be. Look at you see him. You see him, America. And my face always looked like somebody stinks.
Yeah, man. Can't tell me nothing. And yeah, so I talked to Seth. He spoke very highly. Yeah, he spoke very highly of everybody at the Eisen Show.
He will be on tomorrow. Yeah, tomorrow and Friday, Seth Rollins, the 23rd, 24th. He will be guest host. Yeah, so my birthday tomorrow, by the way. Bro.
Damn it. I hate that you told me because I had it in my phone. And I like now it just looks, now you ruined it. It don't matter. Stupid.
But anyway, July 23rd, 24th. The line is out. Yeah, so everybody, y'all better be nice to TJ tomorrow in the comments and on social media. It is his birth miss tomorrow. That's right.
Birthmist. B-I-R-F-M-A-S. Birthmist. Um so yeah, it it that It's going great and then Saturday night's main event. I'm sitting at the seats.
I'm with Paul Heyman's kids, his daughter and his son. And his son's homie, this rapper named Sko, shout out to Sko. And Yeah, we're we're watching it and of course I'm Locked in. You know, you know how I get down with wrestling, bro. I'm about to lose my voice out here.
You know, that's the point. Um. Ran into some cool people uh ran into Uh my buddy who Word runs cameo, so I'm gonna get my cameo back up. Word up, cameo, cameo or the the app, cameo. No, the app.
Oh, okay.
Um, everybody say watch Saturday Nights Man event. Um. Carwarthy Towns.
Well, let's go down the card. Yeah, go ahead. We had new women's tag team champions. We're talking about women's tag teams where we were in the pod. They needed that, too.
Fatal Influence defeated Brie Bella and Paige. And you know, I. I'm an old school wrestling fan, so I love it. I'm a Bellas fan. I've been a Bellas fan.
I'm a Page fan. At one point, You know, if we'd been doing this pod, you know, 12 years ago, you would have known Paige was probably my favorite female wrestler. Like, I just loved Paige, right?
So. It was nice to see her come back, get a title win. But, like we said last week, I didn't think they were doing enough with them. Like, there's so many stories that you could tell with Paige and Brie, and it didn't seem like they were doing it.
So now Fatal Influence comes in. And, you know, now we got some younger women in there winning their first championships on the main roster, which I do find funny because half the IWC gets mad, right? Either the champions are too old. And the other half the champions are too young. Yeah.
And it's just like, they get the titles already. Yeah, right.
So it's like either you're complaining. No, guys, you know, I'm a little bit older.
So I remember when I first started watching wrestling, right? Let's just say this. This is just from me doing my history. In 1981, Ric Flair wins his first NWA title, which started his, you know, his reign of 16 championships. I think he was 35 when he, when that first got started, right?
So that meant he was into his 40s when he became Ric Flair and was in title rank 7, 8, 9.
So for me, like. you know, Vern Gagne was champion. Harley race. These guys were all a little bit older.
So I always was under the impression that it took that much time really to fully you know hone your craft and get you to the point where a company felt comfortable and you Enough with you, making you champions. Seasoned. Yeah. So, you know, I know everybody wants a youngster. But it Is someone 25 years old really able to fully, as QB1, carry?
The biggest or the second biggest companies in wrestling, I think you kind of need that time, man, to really. Get your crap together. Yeah, bro. But yeah, Fatal Influence. They're young.
They're new. Yeah, and they got some heat. They got some heat, man. And it felt like, yeah, like you said, but just to my previous point of them not doing nothing with the women's champions. It's like they just got these titles.
They have their moment. And then, like. They just feel like everybody's just supposed to be happy coming to work.
Well, maybe this will change. We've been big Fallon Henley fans here from day one of this pod. We never got her for some reason. We met her a few times at different NXT shows. And, you know, we were like, yeah, we get you on.
Unfortunately, it hasn't happened yet, but I'm sure it will. But yeah, no matter what, you can always rely on the IWC to come by on their motorcycle. Yeah. Bitch, bitch, bitch, night, night. But also, I want to point out: where's Julia?
Right? Where's Julia? Why did you get me so excited about Keanu James and I don't see Keanu James no more? And where's Stephanie Pecara? Where's I saw some cosplayer?

The gear was phenomenal. If you haven't seen it, go look at Slam. Yeah. So. But yeah, we miss Stephanie, man.
Yeah, man. So miss Stephanie even care? I don't even take a body double if you, if you anyway. I mean, if I was a W, I'd look at signing whoever person. Two chilies.
That's hot. Anyway. And then. Jordan Grace. Yeah, we're reading they got no plans for.
I got an idea for you. It's a three-hour show. You got six hours between two shows, right? Here's just a random idea. I said this about Sami Zayn when he had the belt.
How about we just put Jordan Grace in a wrestling match against Julia for 15 minutes? Guess what? Ain't nobody gonna complain. No one's gonna complain. No one's gonna be mad.
You know what I would love at a SummerSlam for no reason whatsoever. Let me get Kiana James and Jordan Grace. Just a buff off, right?
So you keep hearing there's no plans. I mean, but there's a lot of time on these shows, man. Wrestling matches. We would be okay. Just a match.
I'm okay with just a match that might lead into a story. You know? Just like uh It it it You don't know what's going to stick, but you got to throw it at the wall. Got to, man. Throw it at the wall.
Some people don't like wrestling without a story, but like you just said something there. Put two people together.
Something happens. Maybe now a story comes from that. Yeah. You know, as long as. You know, we're not saying like Just like have it just be, you know, random all the time.
But, like, there might be some gold out of having somebody of the physical stature of Jordan Grace and of the physical stature of Kiana James and like everything that they put in. You built up that storyline of Kiana James kind of wanting to leave Julia and all of that. And we were invested and still invested. Or Pooh. Gone.
Gone, man. But yeah, just uh As O'Shea Jackson Jr. Gotta stick up for the ladies. Ladies first. Ladies first.
So, yeah, we got new women's tag team champions. Congratulations. Yep. The fatal influence.
Now, you brought up. My guy, Carl Anthony Towns. Yeah. Who, you know, we had uh J.D. McDonough go against Dan House.
And, you know, that match goes on. We saw the appearance of the many houses. With Domin. By the way, Dahm is being very disrespectful to the Knicks jersey. Oh my God.
If you could hear that building live, it wasn't bad. Dude, it was like.
Well, you know Dom's automatic heat. It seems like His heat. I want to say it's cooled off because it shouldn't, but like they. They love Dom. They love Dom, and that's the.
He's a. He's the he'll, I mean, respect. He'll let you love a hill.
Now, apparently, we're going to get him and Danhausen at SummerSlam or something. The big thing that came out, you know, he... Dan Hausen's been working on this contraption. Yeah. He has a black cat in a cage and he puts him in the converter.
And then a black cat makes sense. Then the black cat came out. And here comes Carl Anthony Towns, New York Knicks Center, NBA champion, seven feet tall, and you can't teach that. And yeah, he comes to the ring with Dan Hausen with his shades on, looking all cool. And then.
They're back. Cat. Pulls off two very impressive choke slams, one on JD and one on Dom Through a Table. And I gotta be honest, that first one to JD, I was like, Worried JD was going to over-rotate. Yeah.
Did you know, but yeah, he landed perfectly? You got to imagine how many times they practiced that. Oh, man. Then he put Dom through the table, and then he's standing tall with Dan Hausen and the, you know, the mini housing and throwing up the five. And it was just a cool thing to see there in the car.
Bonnie, you should say that. There was no rehearsal. Really? Everything you saw was the first time. Talk to me.
How do you know that? Because I talked to Cat afterwards, and I know how early I got. Did Cat ask about me? No, he didn't. No, no, no, no.
He probably doesn't know how to. Yeah, you know, because he would, he would. If he would have known. He would have known. Oh, my God.
But. The thing I was impressed with was The dude walked. from the concrete, slapped his big old foot onto the ring and walked up it like a sept. Yes.
And then kick that big old foot back over the ropes. It didn't It looked more athletic than I've ever seen people do that. It really did. He got in limber as ever, obviously. Glasses did not move on either choke slam.
That would be Stay a big. He he was big. And I interrupted you. Let's get back to that. Yeah, no, no rehearsal.
I saw him after, and I was like, bro, you came out there. What you did, like, you. You were perfect. He said no rehearsal. He said everything like, we knew what we wanted to do.
Came in and just did it. Wow. That is impressive. That's crazy. And so I was like, man, that's wild.
He was like, yeah, I like. coming in the entrance and all that and and the children like No rehearsals. That's impressive. Yeah. Especially because he looked great.
And I don't think he's done anything like that before. And speaking of cat, he reminded me the way he moved, his skin tone, the size of him, reminded me of an older wrestler named Ernie the Big Cat Ladd. We always like to do a little history here. Ernie Ladd was a former San Diego Charger football player. D-lineman back in the 60s.
He then became a professional wrestler after kind of seeing the money he could make. Cause you know, back then, the NFL money wasn't quite what it is today. And, you know, Andre the Giant was once asked to try out for the Washington football team. He declined because he could make more money in pro wrestling.
So I think that's what happened with Ernie Ladd. But Ernie, the big cat lad, became a star in the late 60s, in the 70s, early 80s. And he wrestled all the big stars, the Bruno San Martinos, the Bob Backlunds, you know, guys like that. And so I saw a lot of Ernie Ladd in cat, just the way, and like I said, go to YouTube, look up Ernie Ladd matches. He was also just money on the mic.
And one of my favorite Ernie Ladd interviews is he's talking to Vince McMahon. You know, back in the day, Vince would do the announcing and the interviewing before people knew that he was dad at this time still did. Oh, people did. Believable. People still didn't know.
And Ernie Ladd would look at him. And there was one, there's one interview where, you know, because Ernie Ladd was talking that talk back in the day. Yeah. He was talking a lot of Matt trash. And you know, when he he's looking at Vince, he goes, look at you, Mr.
Tell it, Mr. TV announcer. I bet you'd love to slap me in the face, wouldn't you, Mr. TV announcer? But let me tell you something, Mr.
TV Announcer. You better never. In your life, famous the TV announcer. And so, yeah, so that was Ernie Ladd. Big wrestled Andre the giant back in the day.
He's one of the guys who could, you know, somewhat measure up to Ernie or Andre because Ernie was 6'9. Yeah. So he reminded me the way Cat moved, the way Cat looked. Cat gave me Ernie. The big cat lad vibes.
Arms crossed. If it's something he wants to keep doing, I feel like he could be like the new wave Ernie the big cat lad.
So that was just something that popped into my head immediately: cat and the big cat. Right. Absolutely. I just feel like for a, for a. A walk-in?
Not bad. Not bad at all. You couldn't ask it to go any better. It went perfectly. Any better.
I know you want to slap me, Mr. TV announcer. You better never think about it. You better never think about it. Here's my one problem, though.
And, you know, because I am old school, and maybe I'm the only one pounding the old school tables sometimes, but it's Madison Square Garden. Yeah. Legendary matches have happened in Madison Square Garden for the WWWF back in the day. WWF. Three W's and then two W's and then WWE.
But the one thing, Shay, that kind of bothered me was. When you look at The history of the garden. Two men who sold out the garden probably more than anyone who didn't rock a Knicks uniform were Bruno San Martino. And Bob Backlund. You know, we're talking almost 11-year title reign, almost a six-year reign for Backlund.
And yet, during that whole Saturday night's main event, I saw one clip of Bruno San Martino for one split second. And there was no mention of him the rest of the show that I can remember. There was no mention of Bob Backlund, who sold out the garden, I think, over a hundred times in. Five years and 10 months as champion.
So it kind of bothered me because, like I said, I am that old school fan, I love the history of the game.
So to speak.
So it's like you had the perfect opportunity to really in the garden. In the garden. Yeah. Because kids don't know what they don't know. You know, I've lived long enough now to...
Now I see all of these Arguments that are mind-boggling to me: that Michael Jordan wasn't all that, right? That Jay-Z wasn't him, that Eminem wasn't him, you know, that all these people that in real time were most definitely the greatest and were all that.
Now, I've got people saying, well, Jay-Z was never the best that blah, blah, blah. You know, Eminem really wasn't that good. And so it just kind of bothers me as an old school fan because this is what I grew up on. I say the name Bob Backlund probably more than any other wrestling podcaster in the world does. And I'm going to continue to do that because I feel like these men earn, you know, they earn this.
So just a little bit of like love shown to the Brunos and the Bob Backlunds who really like sold out those shows in the garden.
So that was just like my one little beef, if I have a beef. you know, me being a a history lover. It just seems like there's a lack of respect. Respect. Respect.
And that was something that. You know, during the uh Nappo baby conversation. Um But it it it just feels like I was always taught How can you know where you're going if you don't know where you've been? Yeah, I love that. And you got to tip your cap to those that came before.
Be grateful for those that came before that sacrificed before that. You might think of today's athletes and Superstars and and yada yada. They have so much more. going for them or that they can do or that they're allowed to do. that it automatically makes that better.
But think about all the stuff the people before accomplished. With far less. Right. And that's got to mean something. That's got to mean something.
Yes, I know about Steph Curry and there's never been nothing like him in all of that. Can you imagine what Having to do what Jerry West did in shoes that are basically made out of paper, right? Like. The numbers that Elgin Baylor was putting up. Wearing some Chuck Taylors with no ankle support whatsoever.
Flat. Yeah. Now think about that guy if he had today's stuff. That's why, you know, when people think that Rick Berry, I saw, quoted on this, because people always be like, well, you know Koozie, Bob Koozie, would just get eaten up by these guards. But you gotta remember the highlights we see, Koozy was the top 1%.
That meant, as far as basketball skills went. Yeah. He was at the top of the food chain. Rick Berry was like, If I averaged 27 back then when we didn't have anything, he goes, What do you think I would average now if I had all of the modern medicine and the equipment? He goes, You think I wouldn't average 30?
He didn't say this, but I'm thinking, like, you think you wouldn't average 30 a game? If you were doing it back then where you could basically get beat up and flattened shoes with no ankle support, what if you had some air in your feet and you were being protected? Yeah. And and it's like the science of me putting that ball in that hoop That does not change. Never changed.
That does not change. From the Apple. From the Apple box till now. Yes, yeah.
So, like, the idea of me learning some dribble moves. I'll learn some dribble moves. They weren't teaching it back then, though.
So, like, I'll learn some dribble moves. Kuzi was dribbling with one hand most of the time, and no one could take the ball. Right. So, just like hearing the. I guess he wouldn't be here in the globe try to whistle, but you know what I'm talking about.
You know what I'm saying? That's back when the world, that was back when rainbows was black and white. But yeah, man. Yeah, yeah. You just gotta.
You gotta tip your cap sometimes, man. And like if it's a message. that O'Shea Jackson Jr. could pass on to you. How can you know where you're going?
If you don't know where you've been. Is this the right way? I don't know. It's been a circle. Like, so, yeah, check yourself before thou erect thyself.
No, you You know, I just looked this up. Uh Bruno San Martino.
Sold out Madison Square Garden. Big. Between 187 and 188 times. The garden. But they got a banner.
For Harry Styles. Bob Backlund sold out the garden an estimated 67 times. What they got. A banner. For Harry Styles.
T. Swift got a band, but she got married in there, so that's a different story, though. I was mad when they put up that Tether Swift banner in Staples. I was like, I need to win right now. Does she have one in the Garden, too, or no?
I didn't look. Oh, okay.
You know, once I saw only two championships up there, I just stopped even caring.
So rude. All right, let's get back to New York.
Now, three. One of our favorites, tied the sparks. One of the no contest absolute favorites, Bailey. My moon and my stars. Her and Lyra, you know, and you know, we all hearing the rumors: like, could this be it?
Are they writing her off? Her and Lyra put on a banger, which almost got sidetracked a little because Bailey. Busted diarrhea up, right? Went to hit her in the stomach. And as the follow through, the elbow came down, hit by her in the nose.
She was leaking blood. And I think that now you were there, so you could tell me. It seemed like the crowd got taken out of it a little bit for a few minutes. And those women worked hard to get the crowd back. But there was some time when, once that blood flowed, it seemed like.
It was a hush. Yeah, it was uh it was kind of uh Mouth open everyone watching situation of just like a uh-oh. It was and it kind of felt Are they making it ugly? a purpose type thing where you're wondering like That that blend of Reality. And pro wrestling started to blur.
Mm-hmm. And There was a moment, I forget if it was a Yeah, it was like a suplex into the turnbuckle situation, or something where one of them hit the turnbuckle real hard.
Okay. And the entire crowd went, hmm. Like you feel like a little like uh-oh. This is getting crazy, but... You know, they Lyra got hit dead at my, you know, I was in New York, so I know this is a terminology they use: get ready for the bleep dealo.
Dead in her sh. Oh my goodness. And yeah, I mean... You know, we love Bailey. We know Bailey's gonna...
put on uh uh some great wrestling. Lyra, this was kind of a showcase for a new character of her.
So the writing is kind of on the wall. She needs it more than Bailey does. And then for it to Be as rough as it was. The ending. kind of a savage ending, not a clean ending.
Like it was l kind of like a Oh, it's over? And then for Lyra to finish the way that she finished it on the outside. It's like, yeah, okay, where Bailey's gonna Bailey's getting on vacation. That vacation. Yeah.
You know, I don't expect to see her next week. And Honestly. Hmm. I for I forget, are they they raw or they smackdown? Because Lyra should be in this ladder match.
Well, it looks like, you know, Lyra has her eyes set on Seoul.
So we'll see where that goes. But man, yeah, the Intercontinental titles. That's just like, she wanted that to be hers. But she should be in this ladder match, man. I feel like.
She would bring a a gritty Matt worker style in that I think is needed in that ladder match. Plus, I remember her in that Money in the Bank where uh I kind of started to fall in love with her style. But the bird person is angry. Angry bird. Angry bird.
You know, like I told you, back, they don't do this enough, in my opinion. But back in NXT, I just saw. Vignettes of Lyra. I was not familiar with her at all. And I became a fan.
I decided after two vignettes, I'm like, I like her. And I didn't even see her wrestle. I had yet to see her wrestle, but I just, the vignettes brought me in. And I wish that was something that they did a little bit more. Don't yell with your AEW thing to help me out.
I got in trouble for asking for that, bro. Watch out. Yeah, I'm a Lyra fan and now this like darker, moodier type character, which I think was probably necessary for her. But now with the busted nose, I put on Twitter yesterday that maybe she needs one of those kind of masks. You know, everyone wears a mask to protect.
They got a broken orbital bone or a broken nose. It'd be a perfect time for her to get some kind of wild, evil-looking bird mask to protect her. You're actually looking like one of them doctors from back in the day. Oh, yeah, like, yeah, like when Marty Scroll used to wear that mask.
So I'm just saying it's an opportunity since they're switching her character up. And if she does have a broken nose, she obviously's got to wear some type. Oh, and I love the darker theme they gave her. Yeah, they did change her theme. And most of the times we get mad when the themes change.
This one, I think everybody's like, oh, look at y'all.
Okay, Death Rebel. You can bark yourself two more months with us. Two more. But yeah, so we'll see what happens with Bailey. You know, that shot of her just, you know, being basically.
smashed against the ring steps upside down. Makes you think, like I said, that we won't be seeing her for a while. You know, everyone's got their opinion that she's. This is it for her. I know I've read her contract that Last to at least the end of the year.
So we'll see. But regardless, no matter where Bailey goes. You know, you got two fans here, and right, you know, if she's got no fans, that meant that something happened to us, too. Right. You know what I mean?
You know, if it's if she stays with WWE. Obviously, supporting if it's Bay EW. Yeah, it's supporting. Yeah, man. Shout out to Pam.
Damn, I love me some Pam. Shout out to Pam. And then we had a tag team match with stipulations. CM Punk and Cody Rhodes taking on Sami Zayn and boom. Gunther or Gunther.
Gunther? I got to go with the Gunther. Yeah, Gunther. Because we like. Got to win an A.
Not with a hard ER. Why would we like that? But yeah, so the stipulation being if the Hills, Sammy, and which I'm still not sure Sammy's a heel, but I'll just say if Sammy and Gunther could have won the match, they would get added to the undisputed WWF championship match at SummerSlam. Of course, it didn't go down because. A man who some people, you know, they might know as Magnus.
We know him as Nick Aldis. Yeah, he and Gunther have been beefing, and uh, Nick Aldous was like, I'm still a man, and I'm six five, and I'm 250, and I ain't gonna let you just. You know, pushed me around like I'm some triple J jerk job jabroni. Talking to me like I got the rush card. Listen, bruv.
You know, so yeah, Nick Aldis came out, you know, interfered with the match a little bit because he was overgun to his BS and clocked him with the belt, gave. Cody and Punk the win.
Now that is going to stay a one-on-one match for the Australian Championship. And now. Good. Nick all this who guy who if you're simply a WWE fan then you know nothing about His wrestling career. Yeah.
Now you're going to get to see for the first time. Nick Aldis in the ring is he's going to take on Gunther. And that should be a pretty fun match depending, right? Because you still have Gunther, who retired Goldberg, Cena Styles. He's still got this persona we.
kind of feel like they're not doing enough with him.
So, I can't see Nick Aldiss winning this match because that wouldn't make any sense. But I think that Nick Aldiss can, you know, have a good enough showing that maybe. He leaves the GM job in the rear view and he jumps back into the squared circle as a you know as a Regular. Every day, yeah, or at least being, you know, called up like how William Regal used to do when he used, you know, all right, let me take this suit off, beat your ass. You don't want that.
And, you know, I see I saw somebody on Twitter talking about so Gunther should just completely annihilate this dude, right? He retired Cena and Goldberg. Hold on. Completely annihilate. Win, yes.
Completely annihilate? No. He kind of did completely annihilate. I know, but like he shouldn't just run through Nick Aldous because. You look at Sina.
forty-nine years old. You look at Uh Goldberg. Goldberg. 59 years old. And so when they fought.
Gunther, there were 48 and 58. Nick Aldis is 20 years younger than Goldberg and 10 years younger than Cena. Nick Aldus 39 years old.
So, and if you see the guy, like I said, I'm 6'3. I walked by him at WrestleMania two years ago. He's definitely a solid 6'5. Taller than me, and he's still, you know, Nick Aldous was always jacked. And if you don't know anything about him, take a chance.
And I'll say, I'll recommend this match: Cody Rhodes, Nick Aldiss, for the NWA World's Championship, and all-in. I think they had two matches. That was my first introduction. That was your first?
Okay, so he was Magnus in TNA. Um, part of a tag team, then he went on a successful singles uh campaign.
So, yeah, Nick Aldiss, when he came to WWE, I was one of the people going, Why is this guy not wrestling? Like, my sister was admitted that he was going to NEW. Oh, yeah. Especially after that all-in. She was like, it would have made sense.
Yeah. But but yeah, so if you if you're not familiar with uh Nick Aldis as a performer, then like I said, just go watch go to YouTube, watch his matches with Cody Rhodes because that's someone else who you're familiar with.
So it'll be an easy watch. But yeah, he. Gunther should win because of the path that they put him on, but in no way, shape, or form should he just run through Nick Aldis. No way. You know, I want blood.
And something else that people might know about Nick Aldis. He is married to Hall of Famer, and my second favorite. Female wrestler of all time, Mickey James. We ain't got to bring that up.
Well, you know, it makes me angry when I think about it. But no, no, but Nick Aldis and Mickey James are married. They have a kid together, so a lot of people might not know that. He's winning. He's winning the life.
He's winning no matter what. And now he gets to have a wrestling match on the biggest stage there is in WWE at SummerSlam.
So it's going to be interesting to see. Probably got a lot of ring rust, but we also don't know. I don't know what he's been doing. He could be, you know, have his own ring at the crib and, you know, running through matches.
So the man could probably wrestle a bear. Same thing with Adam Pierce, though. He got brought in. No one knew that he was a multiple-time NWA World Champion.
So there's definitely people in WWE who only know Adam Pierce as a GM, don't know about Scrap. Daddy, you know, scrap daddy.
So, what a name. It's going to be interesting to see. I'm actually looking forward to that match to see where this goes. Right, absolutely. I Agree.
So, yeah, so Cody and Punk would keep that.
Now, what's up with Sammy? Yeah, you got to feel like probably going to be some interference in that match because Sammy's not happy. Got to. And I understand him not being happy, but I also him not having a match, him not being involved is not going to sit well with Sammy Zane.
So you got to imagine that he's going to make his presence known at least one of those days. I think, yeah, he's got to interrupt that bench. You would assume. Got to, because like. You can't take the belt off punk.
And Cody won't keep his super Cody. Yeah. So it would make all the sense in the world that he ruins a dream match like that. And it's something that you got away from SummerSlam. I mean, WrestleMania.
Also, we don't even know two days. I don't know what match is taking place on what day yet. Yeah, dog. We got a whole raw to get through still. But we're trying to go correctly.
We got to talk about that. We have to get flights and stuff. Absolutely. And then, you know, this thing that happened, because at that point, it seemed like the show was over. They did a lot of vignettes, some commercials.
Then they brought out Jalen Brunson, and they're going to celebrate Jalen Brunson, NBA champion, at the garden with Roman Reigns. The OTC invited him to come. He accepted.
So now you've got the thing where, you know, it's the home of the Knicks. They're the world champions. 53 years this has been.
So they're going to celebrate the Knicks. A lot of people got in their feelings saying there was somebody on Facebook that said Roman Reigns just lost all of his aura. I'm like, are you serious? Because why wouldn't you do this? Why wouldn't you celebrate?
In a building that WWE considers sacred ground ground, you have the NBA chip first time in 53 years.
So, yeah, you're going to celebrate them. And then they bring out Tyrese Halliburton and Seth Rollins. They have a little thing where Seth and Roman have a back and forth. How great was it to see Hallie come out, though? It was great.
But you know what? I know Halliburton's a big WWE fan, but part of me goes, you know, all those videos that you would see after Knick games, it was always F this and F that. There were a few F Halliburtons, but overwhelmingly, it was F Trey Young.
So I was thinking, man, at some point it would. For as much of a reaction as they got when Halliburton came out. And I get why they do it because he's a very big fan. I don't know if Trey Young likes wrestling, but if they really wanted to send that garden crowd hysterics because Knicks fans were effing Trey Young for no reason. Like Trey Young had nothing to do with anything.
F'T Trey Young. But yeah, so it's something that you've seen throughout years and years and years. There's always the. Participation of stars from other sports taking part in WWE. Right now, Tom Brady, a lot of people are like, why is he doing this, Logan Paul?
I can understand if you don't get it, but there is a precedent for it. For sure. And the same thing, you know, Seth. Roman went at it just to add layers to their upcoming match, you know, and Brunson stopped it. And if you.
Play it back, what, two, three years ago? It was LA Knight in Jalen against Logan Paul and Tyree.
So they've had that thing going. Exactly.
And that's what I tied it to: These two guys are actually in WWE 2K. Like yeah, they are like you can play as them. And So, like, that is their two NBA guys: Halley and Brunson. And then I started to tie it into like...
So you got Brunson, you know, the New York Knicks, the chosen one, the king being with Roman Reigns. And then Halliburton, who was in the finals. Game seven. And how did why did he lose that title? Got hurt.
Got hurt. Seth Rollins. Got hurt. Got hurt. And so, like, there was a nice little tie-in right there.
Glad you said that because most people weren't tie-in that, yeah. And so, it's like, you know, that's how I'm looking at things. And, you know, you got the title that's supposed to be mine, but I got hurt. I got hurt.
So, that's how I looked at it. And I was like, This is Seth going full heel. Because, like, at first, it was like, you know, Seth gave the rah-rah speech of like looking at himself in the mirror and setting who he is, and yada yada yada, I'm gonna stop you. But this is a declaration of heel. Or we could just look at this as a one-off.
It's got to be, right? We're moving along our main event storyline, but we're also just giving the garden and the entertainment aspect of WWE showing them some. Exactly.
And then, you know, everybody got there. IFC got there over there. Draws in a bunch. IFC or IW? You know, IFC.
Shout out to IFC. Our idiots in theaters August 28th. Coming up soon. IWC just getting just so upset. I'm just like, this is the main event?
No, what you watched before that was the main event. This is just a nod to the guard. Because there was a solid like 10, 15 minutes between these things happening. It didn't just happen after. They gave Jalen Brunson a longer entrance than Roman.
And Roman's entrance is long. Yeah, man. Like, this was obviously just for the guard. If. If Jalen Brunson was going around doing the DX all season.
It would have been Triple H and Sean to bring him up, unlikely. You know, like, it like. It just happens that every game he acknowledges the trial.
So like, that's why it was Roman. If he did Penta's thing, Penta would have brought him. If the Niners had just won the championship, it would have been George Kittle and Penta. Yeah. So like, please never let that happen.
So like, it was. Oh, my God. Niners. It's awful. I'm sorry.
Oh, and three, baby. That's hard to do. We love Kittle, though, friend of the show. Yeah, friend of the show, Kittle, but he knows what it is. He's flicking me off all WrestleMania.
Yeah, we had a great time with George Kittle at WrestleMania. Yeah. But, so, like, dog, he just, he liked Roman. That's why it was Roman. Anybody else, it would have been anybody else, but it wasn't.
And my, your. Hour Tribal chief. And it's Roman Reigns. He's the biggest star in wrestling. You know, on our Instagram page, someone got at me, called me a clown that said I'm a low-key Roman hater.
And I'm like, first of all, Are you an Nawahi? Calm down. I am not a Roman hater, but what I got to do is sometimes offset your over, like you love Romans.
So we have to have a somewhat of a balance. I've acknowledged the tribal chief multiple times. Multiple times. Every time you got one with me. You know, and then also it was just like, and we could have had a rational conversation, but the dude wanted to call me a clown.
That's the problem with social media because you say shit to people. Yeah, I curse you say shit to people that you wouldn't say to their face. You know what I mean? And it's just like you can't have a sports conversation without someone going and getting butthurt and going there. Like we can disagree without like me starting to curse you out or calling you that and dirty.
You know what I mean? So I don't know. That's the social media problem or whatever. Your sucker is showing. All right.
Relax. But one of the things I love the most, right? That, you know. The way we get to do no contest here because of our, you know, also our ties and our relationships with the Rich Eisen show, is we're able to balance like wrestling and have it also go to mainstream sports.
So we talk before, you know, a lot of these other shows were talking wrestling. We talk wrestling. We talk, you know, your traditional sports. That's what happened today. Today, O'Shea, he was guest hosting the Rich Eisen show.
It did a great job. And, you know, we talked about, we talked to Montrez Harrell, who will be a guest of ours at some point. Very deep wrestling knowledge. But you talked about big three. But we also had the WWE Women's United States champion, Tiffany Stratton.
She zoomed in from the back of a car, and it was a great interview with her.
So we figured we'd chop a little bit up and share it with you here because it was basically like, you know, no contest light. Yes.
You know, the same. No contest tastes with less calories.
So here it is: O'Shea Jackson Jr. hosting the Rich Eisen Show today and earlier today, and our guest. United States women's champion Tiffany Stratton. You got a pretty important match coming up. That ladder match for the interim.
Women's title over there at WWE. How are you feeling having the home turf and also with so much on the line? Oh, I am so excited. You guys have no idea. And also, I'm pretty well versed.
I feel like when it comes to stipulation match, to ladder matches, especially. I had a ladder match back in NXT. I also had a ladder match at Money in the Bank. And that's where I became Miss Money in the Bank. And that's kind of where my career took off, if you will.
So I'm super excited. I'm walking in very confident. I mean, she's already got some hardware. She does. You know, you're walking in there already.
Oh, there it is. I brought it. The champ is here. United States of Stratton out here. United States of Stratton.
That's a good one. Hey, put it on a t-shirt. Come on now. Birch Brendan, baby.
So, you know, you're going in.
So far, we only know it's you and Jade Cargan.
Now, I am a fan of when you two go at it. It seems like, you know, that first of that run you guys had, it was like three or four matches where it was just like. Banger after banger. And then you guys just recently went at it. You guys got, you know, I know it's not always seen the same way, but you guys got chemistry.
Can you talk about what it's like to have somebody like Jay that you know, like, all right, they're going to bring it.
So, you know, you got to bring it as well. Yeah, I completely agree. I feel like me and Jade are kind of Like wrestling soulmates, almost. I feel like we have such good chemistry, and every time we get together, we have these banger matches. I feel like people kind of don't expect it.
I don't know why, but we've had a couple of really good matches.
So, when people are like, Oh, you know, they're wrestling again, it's like, guys, chill out, you're gonna get a good match out of us.
So, um, I'm really proud of those couple of matches I've had with Jade. I'm proud of the storyline. There's got to be some sort of security as a performer to know that, like, you're with somebody who can. You know, Jade for sure can do more power spots than most people. You know, you're going to be caught, you know, a lot of times.
Like, that's got to be some sort of security, no? Yeah. I mean, we've all seen the video of me diving off the ladder back in NNXT and, you know, not really getting caught.
So maybe if I were to do that again, maybe I could do it onto Jade Cargill. And, you know, she's strong.
So maybe she can actually catch me this time. You know, for people who might not be familiar with you, you are a former gymnast, right?
So can you just share with people how that helped your transition to becoming a WWE superstar? Yeah, so we have so many girls that are former gymnasts as well. We have Sol Rucco, we have Kalani Jordan done in NXT.
So I feel like gymnastics helps so much just because gymnastics teaches you body control, it teaches you rolling, it teaches you how to flip, obviously.
So a lot of that has to do with the foundation of wrestling, the basics. When you first get into a wrestling ring and you take your pro-wrestling classes, the first thing you do is a forward roll. And that's like the foundation of everything in wrestling and also in gymnastics.
So I felt like I already knew the foundation of wrestling going into it because of gymnastics. And then obviously, a lot of the moves that I do within the ring, my entire moveset is a lot of the things I used to do in gymnastics.
So I've kind of just found a way to take my gymnastics background and completely transform it into my moveset within the ring. And my moon slot actually is something I used to do every single day in every single competition in my compulsory routine. It was a move that you had to do.
So I can do my finisher in my sleep. And that's because of gymnastics. And like I said, we have so many former gymnasts that are excelling at pro wrestling. And gymnastics just does that for you. It sets you up for not only wrestling, but I think any sport, truly.
So Tiff, let them know the name of the move for those people who aren't familiar. Tell them, because it's a great name.
So, my moon slot is called the prettiest moon slot ever because obviously I do it prettier than everybody. And the reason I do it prettier than everybody is because we got judged on how I did it in gymnastics on the trampoline.
So, I had to have my toes pointed, my legs perfectly straight, my fingers perfectly straight. My arms are perfectly straight.
So that's why I do it so perfect is because. I used to do it every single day in gymnastics.
So, Tiffy, tell the people why they need to be behind you going into SummerSlam live from Minnesota as you go for the title.
Well, obviously, we all want Tippy 2 titles to happen.
So hopefully you guys have seen all the hard work that I put in for the past five years. I know I've seen it. I've been going through it for the past five years.
So I'm walking in as the U.S. champion and hopefully I'm going to walk out as Tippy 2 titles with the W Women's Championship and in my hometown to make it even better and in front of my family and family that has never even seen me wrestle before.
So I'm super excited. I hope. I hope they're super excited to see this latter match. Hopefully, it's stacked thus far. I believe it is stacked.
You know, you have me and Jade Cargill, a former WWE Women's Champion as well.
So I think it's going to be one of the more interesting matches out of the entire weekend. I can't wait to perform in front of Minnesota. And hopefully, it's one that's memorable. Tifty Stratt. You right over there, man?
What, you got? Great, man. What a job. What was that you were saying about Dr. Umar understanding?
Dr. Umar just gonna have to forgive me. But yeah, man, that's what's cool. We're able to bring, you know, like wrestlers on to like the main show. And it's just, I don't know, I dig it the most.
Yeah, man. It's really cool. And like. Credit to you. For bringing that influence to the Rich Rise of the show before we had this.
And You know, you just I'm acknowledging you, brother. Thank you, Jake. I got to say today was a good day. Like, you know, I talked to Stephanie Stratton today, Matthew Berry, who you also interviewed. He basically gave Ashton Kutcher and I props for being at the foreword or the forefront of the fantasy football boom because he and I did a fantasy football show years and years ago on Ustream before it really blew up.
So that was really cool. He acknowledged me. And now this, you know, I'm feeling good today. I might play the Powerball, baby.
Sound like.
Sounds like somebody got a birthday coming up. Oh, yeah, that's oh, yeah. The energy, energy's going good in your way. Going good in your way, man. And I'd like to also let everybody know: Planet of the Apes is not a different planet.
It's actually Earth, and he finds out by finding the Statue of Liberty. Cornelius! I just wanted y'all to know. You thought I forgot about the spoiler bit I was doing? Come on, Dowd.
But yeah, but yeah, that's where we're at, man. We got a Monday, this upcoming Monday, July 27th. Monday Night Raw at the Intuitome. Yeah. So looking forward to that.
We'll be in attendance, I believe. Oh, oh, wait. I forgot.
So after Saturday Night's main event, where it worked? You know, I'm kicking it with the Heymans. And, you know, got to see Terrence Crawford. Say what's up to Terrence Crawford. Lynn Manuel Miranda.
Okay. Saw him. Shout out to him. Saw him there. Yeah.
And then. Tribe a chief. Tapped up Roman for the fourth time. You see it. That's you see it.
That's and uh uh yeah, I was talking to Chief for a little bit. He was like um He was like uh uh he was like, Yo, let let me know, man, because You know, this wrestler thing, you know, it's hard on your back, man. You know, I don't know if I can keep doing it. I was like, oh, you're trying to get on the other side of the camera? He was like, hey, man, let me know.
Yeah, yeah, and then uh I might have Might have gotten his manager's number. Just saying, you know, I mean, he's super necessary. You know, we might work something out. We might work something out. A lot of people say they want to come on the show.
You said Liv Morgan wants to come back for a second time. Cody has m mentioned multiple times he wants to come on.
Now, the tribal chief.
So, we got to, you know, we know they want to come on the show. We just got to actually get them on to the show. Yeah, and you know, it's. There are some things in plan The things and the works. But if we say it out loud, the haters will try to stop us.
Yeah, they only tend to stop. If we say it out loud, the haters will try to stop us. But we have things in the works that. The no contest Wrestling look faithful. Would be very happy to know.
You guys are always trying to be on the up and up. And uh We will. Take this whole thing over. We will. And it's all thanks to you guys and for you guys.
We just get to do the quote. I'm going to look at this as a quote I saw Scott Hall say once that he told Vintamc Man, he goes, I don't want all the pie. He goes, just enough of it. Yeah. We only take it.
There's a big pie. Just give it, you know, we just want our lane. Yeah, my slice. And that's two of us.
So that's at least two slices. But then there's, you know, we go back for seconds.
So that's four pieces. And then, like, you know, it's good to have just one in the fridge that you forget about. You know, so yeah. I'm going to tell you, like, my dad tell me. said, You know, when you go into first class and They ask you.
You want your headphones? Or there's like would you like some peanuts? Or you w would you be dining with us this evening? I want everything that I deserve. I want everything promised.
And that's how we feel here. You know, contests. It's like that. And that's the way it is.
So, yeah, you're about to dip. You're heading out of town to redo big three again. Monday night, like we said, next Monday, Raw will be at the end of it tome, home of the Los Angeles Clippers. You're mine, our Los Angeles Clippers.
Sorry. I knew that ignorance was coming.
So, yeah, looking forward to that. And then, you know, big AEW night tonight. Dynamite. We got Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, and Jonathan Moxley. That's kind of a weird six-man, but they've taken on the Don Callis family, Brian Cage, Hetchichero.
And Jake Doyle used to be Jake someone, somebody, I think his name was known. But, you know, Kevin Knight against Darby Allen for the TNT title. Divine Dominion against the Sisters of Sin for the tag team championship. Clark Connors will take on Jay White. The Switchblade is back.
And then we have Tecla and Willow having to face off. Yeah, you know, I love me some Willow. And did I say hechicero right or wrong? I think I said it wrong, but it's hechicero. He wears a mask.
So it's uh. Brian Cage, Hetchicero, and Jake Doyle against Moxley, Osprey, and Omega. Just made me remember our buddy Trick. Saw trick as well. Oh, you saw trick?
Yeah, saw trick as well because remember he was on the pre-show. Laredo. Laredo. And you know, we saw Laredo is who I saw over at TNA. TNA.
And he gave me a mask. Yes.
Yep. And I went up to him. I was like, hey, man, I still got my mask. He was like, oh, man. You know, like, we showed him love.
I was like, happy to see you here. He was like, you know, I'm just. trying to take it step by step. And uh Trick Williams, shirtless. Of course.
Like dog. Like. You got to drop down with them a little bit? I don't have a shirt, man. I don't wear shirts.
So he brings up the shirtless thing because one day we were backstage at a TNA show. And unlike some people who stream, we saw Luchadors without their masks on. We never put them on camera and recorded them and sent it out to the world. It's something that we did not do because we respect the game, but we saw people without masks on. But at one point, and I've said this on the pod before, I'm standing next to Trick.
It's dark. We're in the gorilla position. It's all dark. And Trick next to me goes, woof. I'm cold.
And I was like, yeah, it is a little bit cold around here. And I turned and look, I'm like. You don't have a shirt on, bro. Like, once you put on, he goes, I don't never wear a shirt. Yeah, I don't know, I don't ever wear a shirt.
So I'm like, you'd rather just sit back here and be cold. Yeah, right.
Come on, dog. And then next thing you know. Yeah, he's out running. Trick Willie got six abs, so I get it. Yeah, everybody's gonna wear his shirt.
And yeah, so it's all tricks. Hey, what's up to Trick? You know, I'm talking to Trick. And yes, it's just an all-around great night. You know, I got to.
Paul Heyman dropped me off at my hotel, so I had to get in the SUV with Paul. And I just felt like You know, we always see the top guys in the back with ball. That's wild, man. Glad you had that experience. It's such a crazy experience.
and uh you know shook Paul's hand and he goes um Thank you for this. Because I'm in my mind, I was like, Man, thank you. But he held my hand, he was like. Thank you for this. And he gave me the like.
I owe you one so. And I'm like.
Okay. You don't. You don't owe me a thing. But I'll take it. But we'd love an interview.
Number three. Yeah. Let me get. We ain't got that full. Let's get that 60.
Yeah. Let's get that 60. But we have been lucky enough. You know, I'm not going to, you know, we had Roman for Roman for eight minutes, but you know what? It was better than not having Roman for.
And it's actually did. We stretched it to 10 or 11. But it's better than not having. Yeah, because they told us six. They told us six.
People like talking to you guys. But yeah, the AEW thing.
Something that bothers me about AEW. Hold on. Hold on. Okay, relax.
Something that bothers me about AEW is like I saw TonyCon treats Dynamites? Like pay-per-view. And like, sometimes that's really cool. You get like some crazy matches. That's got to be taxing on the bottom.
I mean, you're getting your money's worth every time of AWS. Every single time. And there shouldn't be anything wrong with that. No, there's not. But, like.
You got Kenny versus MJF. On a dynamite. Which could have sold could have been a pay-per-view? Yeah, it would have sold b But then, you know, shout out to my brother Kevin Knight. You know, you're in my faction, Ninjas with Altitude.
Uh what is kinda crazy that that's on the that's on the pay-per-view and not MJF and Kenny, because You know, unless something crazy happens. I'm pretty sure Kenny's gonna beat Kevin Knight and go on to phase Osprey. Like Come on. Like I said, I have inside information, but I was sworn to secrecy, so I can't say. But everything I was told has come to fruition so far.
It's not that I'm saying Kevin Knight doesn't deserve to be on a pay-per-view. No. I'm just saying, like, in the situation that they presented him in, I know Kenning's going to win instead of being like, come on, Kevin. You know, come on, Kevin. And.
So it's just like weird. It's just weird to put him in a spot. But That's just all I had to say about that, 'cause I was just like, That's just like It's just a little off. Either way, Kevin and Darby tonight, though, is going to be a banger. That's going to be a banger.
And I'm low-key like. No, no, no, no, no. But the match is going to be because in my mind, I was like, what if he loses? That TNT title and then like He went, but I'm like, no, it's going to be Kenny versus Osprey. It's going to be Kenny versus Osprey.
I know this. I just wish like At least play with my Kayfa mind that Kevin's got a chance at winning. You know? But he's still, you know, he's a TNT champion. He should take the time to showcase himself.
Showcase himself. Make him look good, Kenny. And he will. There's no doubt about that. Kevin Knight is one of those ones.
He's one of them ones. One of them ones, man.
So, and Darby, man. You know, Brian Cage tossed Darby off of the ring post. Yeah, I don't Darby, I man, brother. Like, we, I guess, Darby's living by the, I'm here for a good time, not a long time. You just shut my ass up.
But, man, bro, you don't need to do that for us. I appreciate it, but you don't need to do all of that, dog. Hey. In moments like that, I'm like. Yeah that Because you don't have to.
You've already established yourself. That is for the guy who's. trying to make a name. But then I think about Mick Foley talked to us about Getting a pedigree onto glass or tax, I mean. I said glass because of Darby, but the pedigree on the tax.
And he was like. I could lose my eye right here. But think of the pop. You're a sick old dude. Speaking of Kenny Omega, you know.
Oh, you see it? You see it? Get a good shot of that. Ugh. Look at the obliques.
I just wanted to point that out to Kenny there. Yeah, man. So I think it's time you wrap this up because we got to get you to the airport. Yes, please. You got your third job.
You got like four jobs like the Living Color with the Jamaican airport. Yeah, man. I am trying to be the. Hardest Working Young black man, single father. I'm trying to be the hardest working black single father in sports media.
Let's go. And I'm out here doing it. ESPN show Go on and do a uh Sideline reporting for CBS. It's just, it's hard out here, brother. I gotta make it look easy.
You're doing it, you're doing it. And the greatest thing is you're always. You know, you're spreading the word, the gospel of NCW, which benefits me, so I appreciate it. Absolutely, bro. NCW, for life, for life.
