From Thirty for Thirty Podcasts. Brian Patter, senior defensive lineman from Miami. Gun down. The key to this case, it's Brian. An hour before he died, he was on the phone arguing with Tabaki.
This might be a hit. You want the truth. They just want a conviction. Being placed under arrest. We had to kill our monsters.

NFL Free Agency essentially began about a minute ago. We're going to be all over it, and here's how it's going to work. I have no idea how this is going to. Other than the fact that we're going to sit back for the next three hours and soak it all in, take your phone calls at 844-204-RICH, number to dial. You want to react to what.
We're saying whatever's happening out there, we're here for you. You're upset about your team. You're happy about your team. You want this player. You thought this player would be around.
You're wondering why this player isn't around. We're here for you over the next three hours. We're guestless. We might reach out to somebody to say, explain this to us or not. That's how we're going to be working over the next few hours right here on the Rich Island Show.
Chris Brockman is back for my vacation. Good job. Good back to you. You have a good time? Great time.
You leave your razor over there. I love it. I don't love this. Cage was like, oh, leave the beer. And I'm like, you get a day.
I got it. I got it. You get a day. Looks good on you. He did say, though, it's kind of like riches.
Yeah, which makes you want to shave it, I bet. Right. See?
Well, anyway, good to have you back. I hope you get a free bowl of soup. Good to see you over there. Jason, what's the rich? Del Tufo's not working here anymore?
Whatever. Good to see you over there, TJ. How are you, sir? What's going on, man? I'm great.
The greatest rapper of all time, Dylan O'Malley. March 9th, so it's a biggie day today, right? Biggie Day. Shout out to my mom. Fantastic.
And Rich, permission just to interrupt you during the show at any point because there's going to be a lot of wow, did you see that happening? Yeah, sure. And there's been a history of this show at this point for the next week or two. Remember the hell going on year where Tyree Hill left and Russell Wilson gets cut and Stefan Diggs tweeted out the hell going on and all that sort of stuff. And, you know, a number of times I'm in the middle of having a take to try and describe what's going on.
And Brockman's like, whoa, I'm used to it. I'm getting ready for it. We've got our drop ready. Our breaking news drop is already. You want some stuff right out of the gate?
Sure. What do you got right out of the game? Diana Rossini saying Travis Kelsey and the Chiefs are rumored to be discussing a one-year deal for $15 million. Ian Rapidport saying now that the 49ers are open to trading Trent Williams if that situation doesn't get resolved. Leverage season has begun.
It's happening. I'll hit on that down the road over the next three hours. But here's the scoop, everybody. The quarterback carousel is spinning. I was wondering why this didn't happen over the weekend, quite frankly.
Um, but it has happened. The shoe has dropped in South Florida to Otungo Vailoa. Shall be released. He shall be available for anybody to sign him for the league minimum of 1.3. million dollars, which is a mere drop in the bucket.
For a guy that is two years removed, two seasons removed from a four-year, $212.4 million extension. We were wondering what the Dolphins would do with a new head coach and a new general manager and a quarterback that's been there for six seasons in Tuatungo Vailoa. Would they keep him? Would they try and rehabilitate him in terms of all the interceptions that he's had? Will they be able to keep him with a large cap number?
Um, or would they just decide we just cut our losses and we'll just play without him with a large cap number? And they chose. the latter and basically The Fat. Dead cap number. that was in the clubhouse for the fattest, deadest cap number in the history of fat, dead cap numbers, owned by the Denver Broncos, telling Russell Wilson, We're done here.
of $85 million. The Miami Dolphins are now holding that beer. To the tune of $99.2 million. Wow. A June, I don't want to bore you, but they designate them in a certain way.
Um they designate him in a certain way. And by doing so, they split the cap hit between this year and next. This year's cap hit is 67.4. Million bucks. And uh because the Um Miami Dolphins.
Had to a Tungo Bailoa under a fifth year option. Back in the day when they decided to give him a long-term deal, they had a fifth-year option of $23.5 million.
Okay. for for for them to be able to keep him. And then maybe Kirk cousins him. And franchise tag him and franchise tag him just to see if he was, in fact, the guy. If you recall.
Back in that day, there were still wonderings. If he was the guy. for Miami to the point where Chris Brockman and I went through the old saw that we've done over here for the last 11 years. Which is why pay the guy if you're not sure, if he really hasn't proven it, if he hasn't taken you very far? And I'm like, well, in the NFL, it doesn't matter.
The market bears what the market bears when somebody becomes free. And unfortunately for the Dolphins, He was up for this contract extension. Just after he and Mike McDaniel were beginning to hook up. and having terrific seasons together. despite concussion problems that cropped up Over and over again.
Fortua And they decided to give him that contract. And instead of going ahead and giving him That sort of Kirk Cousins treatment. They paid him all of that money. Mm-hmm. And all they got out of him For his contract.
for his one more year for Tua Tongo Vailoa. after the fifth year option they could have had on him. One more year. for $120 million plus more dollars. of cash going out.
One year. for a hundred and twenty million bucks. Essentially. of what they paid him. Making this without question.
The worst contract anybody's ever given a quarterback in the history of the National Football League. And I'm using 2020 hindsight completely to do so. Obviously, yeah. Because again The guy Performed. in his career Well enough.
For the Dolphins to say, we've seen enough. Certainly with the general manager. and the coach together. Once Mike McDaniels showed up, two of 3,548 yards in 2022, and 46. hundred twenty four yards in two thousand The only issue is in 2022, We had the daylights also scared out of us by tour.
by getting hit so hard in Cincinnati on a Thursday night That his hands made some awful motion. Yeah. And he wound up Getting concussed then. And then later on on Christmas Day against the Green Bay Packers, concussed then. Skylar Thompson wound up starting a playoff game.
2023, he comes back. He doesn't Mm-hmm. Skip miss anything. Absolutely nothing. He plays every single game.
And he and Mike McDaniel look like they are two peas in a pod. 2024 is when he gets signed to his contract. He winds up. Missing four more games due to a concussion after, by the way, In a Bills game, if you remember on this night, he throws three interceptions. winds up being down 21 points at home.
decides to run for it in the third quarter for a first down. And of all people, to hit him so hard he gets concussed again was DeMar Hamlin. As those two people met. In a player safety collision. And then comes this year.
And basically, every word out of my mouth over the last six minutes. about what happened with Tua after he was drafted fifth overall. And Justin Herbert gets drafted after him. And then a New coach comes in, says, I've got it. It looks like they've got it.
They sign him to a market deal. Only to have him Regress. only to have the head coach not really have it. And that is the way. A general manager who gives this deal, and a head coach who says, I've got it.
both lose their jobs. This is basically a story as old as time. For the Miami Dolphins, certainly when they have a new coach and a new general manager coming in, this makes complete sense. Wipe the sleigh clean and set a new record. For dead cap money, but guess what?
The old record holder for dead cap money. Went ahead. drafted the right guy and made the playoffs the next two years anyway.
So the Dolphins are like, okay, $85 million cap hit. They drafted Bo Nicks. They made the playoffs. And damn near made the Super Bowl. Why can't us?
Why not us? Why can't we do it? This makes complete sense. Wipe the slate clean, take your medicine. Have the social media team send out a nice meme saying thanks for the memories.
Those are scared.
So weird. Because they're like, hey, he's an all-time leader in completion percentage for us. Isn't that great? If it was great, we wouldn't be saying thank you for everything to him.
Okay. Okay. So now what happens to two of them? Just like Kyler Murray, just like Gino Smith, you're now on the boat where you can get. A bona fide veteran quarterback with a ton of experience in this league.
For the league minimum, $1.3 million. And also you're thrown into this mix. With Malik Willis. Who has None of the experience of any of the above. But a ton of upside.
And some tape. Coming off the 2025 season, Much better than the three other guys I just mentioned. Way better in big games. If you're the Miami Dolphins and you saw Malik Willis do what he just did. Against the Chicago Bears in frigid weather in Green Bay, you're sitting there going, Guess what?
Well, you didn't see any of that stuff out of Tua in cold weather, almost ever. Maybe we should kick the tires on this guy. And a guy who actually watched it firsthand and saw the kid prepare behind the scenes is the new head coach, Jeff Hafley, who was the defensive coordinator there in Green Bay. Is that a spock? Do they have enough cap room?
Um what about Tua?
Well, word is now as we're starting our free agency frenzy. Um It looks like Atlanta's the spot for him. Number of people who went ahead and posted this, tweeted it. Just at the same time I'm getting alerts on my phone. It looks like Tua is going to be a Falcon by the end of the day.
Maybe by lunchtime. Out here. Or dinner time. in Atlanta. And this makes sense.
This makes absolute complete sense. Because Number one. They need a quarterback, a veteran one, at that. That's number one, because Kirk Cousins isn't staying there. And Michael Pennix Jr.
is coming off of A An ACL that who knows when he's going to be back, right? Right. Um Them mayors also The fact that you covet what you see. One of the best performances this year by Tua Tungo Bailoa, without a doubt. was Miami Dolphins at Atlanta Falcons the week before Halloween.
When Tua walked into that building, and torched him. 20 for 26, 205 yards. and four touchdown passes.
So the Falcons saw what he could do in that building. Miami, as we know, nice weather outside. Nice weather outside. How's the weather inside there, inside the Georgia dome? Perfect.
Right. Perfect. Right. Hey, y'all's the weather out there. And the whole idea with Jared Goff, right back in the day.
Guess what? Nice weather out here in Los Angeles, certainly inside the dome out here. We're inside the uh under the canopy and so fi. The Lions. Yep.
Don't stick him out in the weather very much. 'Cause everybody plays indoors except for obviously Chicago. Right?
So And Green Bay, I get it. But sure.
So he doesn't go outdoors very much. That's not a bad one either. And. Chris, when you were on your Hawaiian walkabout and Suze was sitting in that chair, we were having a conversation the other day.
Somebody called up and said, How about Tu as a backup quarterback? And I'm like, First of all, I'm sure he's going to want to go to a place where he can start. Secondly, Secondly, I don't want a left-hander as my backup. I just don't. I don't.
Because A right-hander throws it with a certain spin, and then all of a sudden a left-hander comes in and. It can be confusing. It can be also Deflating to a team when you start dropping passes in the third and fourth quarter of a game, you got to win with your backup.
Well, guess what hand Michael Pennix throws it with? Oh, yeah.
Okay, so also Kevin Stefansky. One of the greatest mysteries of the last couple years in Cleveland is. Which straff choice did Kevin want and which one did he not? Who knows? If you want a Dylan Gabriel, his nickname's Mini Tua.
Tua Jr., little Tua. All right, if you want a Dylan Gabriel, guess who he's going to get here in Atlanta? It makes sense. Right down the line, and he's also a good dude. Yeah.
And the best pass of his career came in that dome. That's where everybody said, I want Tua. That's where Tank for Tua took place.
So Gustav Nick Saban.
So it looks like the first quarterback uh of the veteran Cut it. Quarterback carousel. The first cut veteran quarterback on the carousel. To be taken by another team might just be the one who is the last one to be cut and put on the carousel. 844-204-Rich is the number to dial.

Rich is the number to dial here on the program. All right, first time we're hitting this drop, go ahead and hit it. Here it comes. Boom! Yeah, Maria is seat.
Breaking news. All right, we even have a nice graphic for our radio audience, including, I believe, one of the three people on the graphic. if I'm not mistaken, is uh featured in this breaking news, correct? Ryan? I don't know.
I'm going to start with this one because it literally just happened seconds ago. What happened? Kenneth Walker III, Super Bowl MVP. Is he a chief? It's a Kansas City.
That's what I was hearing was a rumor.
Okay. All right. Wow Wow.
Well, we knew they were going to address that running back position where there would be a lot of people.
Well, because Jeremiah Love wasn't dropping to them. I think that this move. 1000% confirms what we believed coming out of the combine. All those mock drafts, Jeremiah Love falls to nine of the Chiefs. No chance.
Not a chance at all. That was lit on fire the minute that kid got off a plane in Indianapolis and started talking to other people. Uh-huh. You know, but Kenneth Walker. Do we know what the deal is?
No terms yet.
Okay. Yeah, Tommy and everyone else just and Ian just have that. He's going to be the Chiefs. Nothing yet. Listen, what a great place for him to land.
And maybe this means the Chiefs are going to actually, you know. Try and get a running game going that's of consistency. You know? And Matt, we we We can see Kenneth Walker III, if he stays healthy, doing this thing in Kansas City, along with Travis Kelsey's return. Let's hope that there's not confirmed yet, but no more working towards what, Kelsey coming back?
Well, coming back to the Chiefs.
Okay. He is going to play this year unclear where. I believe it's to the Chiefs. I don't think he's going to be a free agent and start. Traveling around the country.
No, no, sir. This also means, in my mind, if Kelsey's coming back from jump, And we're getting a nice running game to keep Mahomes upright a little bit better. Is that Mahomes is on target, right? We haven't gotten any sort of. That's true.
Still six. Update on that. Yeah, but we kind of assumed he's going to miss at least like the first. Why do we assume that? Why do we assume that?
Well, statistically, the way these injuries work out: I got it. Two tears.
Okay. Not just the cleaning. I understand. Not just the cleaning. I understand.
How old is Tatum? Jason Tatum? Yeah, how old is Tatum? Is he close to 30 yet? Nah, he's like 27.
All right. So he's a younger guy. I'm just going to use him as a measuring stick coming back from 10 months after an Achilles, even though I know these are completely different. He just turned 28.
Okay, very good. But Kenneth Walker III, congratulations to him. Yeah. Um And um And it's a great spot for him to land, an absolutely terrific spot for him to land. And I do hope it is more than the.
The money that um that's uh of the franchise tag. Because Seattle didn't give him that.
So he wasn't getting anything larger than that.
So if he gets something larger than that from Kansas City. That's cool. That's all good in that neighborhood. Good for him for cashing in. On the moment.
I mean, you were the MVP of the Sewer View. Yeah. Their stock is never higher right now. Cash that in, go to KC. You know, their window kind of stays open.
And so here we go.
So, what happens, though, with these Chiefs' backs? I think Pacheco's history. He's gone. He's gone. He gone.
And they got the young kid Brashad. I mean, he was drafted in 2022, which means his four years of being with the Chiefs are up. I mean, they're not going to sign him to a free agent deal if they just hit Kenneth Walker III in that regard. It's a nice move. It's an expenditure at a position.
At which the Chiefs have not really made much of an expenditure. No, no, no, no.
So I kind of dig it. Let's zag a little bit here, man. Um And clearly he's He's uh coming off of a a nice campaign. And as for Travis Kelsey, My God, am I happy to hear that he's going to keep playing. He is just As special a player and human that the NFL can have on the field.
Kansas City can have on the field He is one million percent. A chief Front, center, top to bottom, left to right. He is a guy that has the attention of fans of all. Walks On Kansas City. It is beyond helpful.
to the Chiefs and the NFL that he's continuing to play. I am very excited. Also, the fact that he and his bro do this outstanding show together. And that can't that Kelt Travis is still active. That's great for the pod.
It's great for. It's great for business. It's great for everybody. Um I let Zan. The big Swifty in my household know about this.
Which infuriates his brother that he roots for the Kansas City Chiefs because Travis is Taylor adjacent. Um He was a little bit disappointed because he thinks this now takes Taylor out of the Super Bowl performance mix. Because if Travis is still around. She's not going to perform the Super Bowl. Unless Travis makes it.
wins it, she performs at halftime, and they stroll off the sunset together. What do you think? What a lovely National Football League story. That sounds terrible. Other breaking news.
Yes, sir. What else you got on? All right, let's do it. There's been four signings so far. Let's get to them.
Alec Pierce stays with Indianapolis four years, 116 mil. I'll do the math. That's 29 per. Seems like he could have got more if he tested the market. New England in on it didn't want to go that high.
He stays with the Colts. Four for 116. Very good. The Patriots did make a move, though. They get edge rusher Draymond Jones from Baltimore.
Obviously, he's expendable with Max Crosby. Three years, $39 million. Eric Stokes stays with the Raiders, three for $30. And Alameda Zacchias goes back to Atlanta from Chicago. All right.
The Alec Pierce news. I think we're burying the lead. Yeah, no, no. I mean, he's just listing off all the latest. Yeah, there's been moves.
Actually, that was the first that he gave out there. Um This happens Every year that there is somebody In free agency. that gets pizzed That shocks everybody. That is a pizza. I don't know if that's a word or not.
That is doled out. to somebody on the offensive side. that isn't A top Third or fourth round fantasy draft choice. And you're like Huh? Like, I wouldn't have even bid on that guy in my fantasy draft with all that dollars.
So how are real dollars being paid to this guy? In this fashion.
Well, once again, Oh, you don't like hearing it. But when it's your time... And you're the top of the market. And there's no one else out there with your abilities. And your youth.
You get paid. And you get paid big time on the Colts. And what a time for Alec Pierce to hit it. Good for you. of triple digits that start with a three.
With a three. And so If I'm not mistaken, Chris, not to put words in your mouth, but. Um You are disappointed that the Patriots don't get a big time. deep threat guy like Pierce. who had a thousand yards receiving with less than fifty catches.
So he's a big chunk play guy. Six foot four, big time, tall, chunk play guy. You're disappointed you don't get him. But To the tune of almost $30 million a year, you're kind of like, I'm fine, you're out. I'm out on that.
You're like Kramer slamming the table. Also, what's the difference between him and Kayshawn Booty for what you're asking him to do in your offense? That's another way to look at it. All last week, Chris, I just sat here and shook my head about this. Like.
I'm not going to hate on the man getting paid. No, me neither. But that's a lot of money for a guy, like I said, who wasn't even the number one option on his own team. And what is the Colts planet quarterback? Uh, is it going to be Daniel Jones?
Seems like they want it to be. Is he. Going to be 100% next year, most likely not. A chance to play with Trick May. I don't know.
Seems like a no-brainer, but for that price tag, I'm out. Good for the Patriots for avoiding it. Yeah, Alec Pierce, 19th in the league in receiving yards, 1,003. Same number. Of yards down to the inch as A.J.
Brown. Yeah, I pointed that out loud. 40, 47 yards, 47 catches for his 1,003. For an average yards per catch. of twenty one point three That is without A doubt.
Number one in the National Football League. He had Chunk play after chunk play after chunk play. And kudos to our my guy, uh Who showed up at the combine, as always, in our booth. Spitting truth. and in a smedium shirt.
Chris Ballard. general manager of the Colts, who we talked about last week. had the issue In front of him. that you know in a way Joe Shane had for the Giants a few years ago, which is Daniel Jones coming off of a terrific season where he proved to be quite valuable at the most valuable position for your franchise. And your head coach?
And Unlike the year that Shane had it, where Daniel Jones was coming off of a playoff win season. This time, Daniel Jones looked like they were destined to make the playoffs, blew out as Achilles. And they don't make the playoffs. And Joe Shane Had The issue of do you franchise tag the quarterback, pay him long term, or do you franchise tag the other? Important part of your offense that's also set to go free.
That was Saquon Barkley back in the day. They wound up franchising Saquon. They wound up paying Daniel Jones long term. And we all know what happened after that. Ballard decides to not franchise tag anybody.
And Let Alec Pierce. potentially walk free today. While transition tagging Daniel Jones, which allows him to go seek your deal. Daniel. Go find out if you are what your value is, is more than what you're saying.
And all reports that I read over the weekend is that Daniel Jones's agent To Salud. They wanted a $50 million a year deal. I saw that. And Chris Ballard goes, well, How does thirty seven point eight three three million for one year sound? And you go search for your fifty million dollar deal.
And should you find it with your guy coming off of the Achilles, Go with God. And then I guess the Colts would be back in the mix for a new quarterback at that point in time because I hear Anthony Richardson. Not gonna be there. Hey, y'all. You're not gonna be there.
I mean, they've already Not too on a l much on a limb, but Chris Ballard confirmed when he showed up in our booth at the Combine that they are. They've told him, Go seek trade, go for it.
So they are running the risk here of losing Daniel Jones, but you tell me which team would pay him. the fifty million dollar a year contract. That the Colts would not match and just let him walk because they can match. If somebody comes back and goes, we give Daniel Jones three years, average. uh forty five million bucks the cults might go there and go okay We'll do that.
You tell me the team that's going to give him fifty million bucks a year coming off of the Achilles. Anybody? Would it be Arizona? Which is now in the business of of a quarterback. Who else is it?
Miami won't have that cash. They're not going to do that. No, no, no. The Jets? You mentioned bringing Daniel Jones back to New York to the tune of 50 million per story, so hey, Jet fan base that we're trying to sell in another redo here.
How about the old Giants quarterback that you ran out of town, or your friends ran out of town, or you laughed at your friends while they ran them out of town? Yeah, there you go. Did I get that? I finally landed on the proper verbiage. You worked, though.
Seriously. Let's game it out here. Let's game it out. I don't know. So, if you're Ballard, I think you've played this chessboard pretty nicely.
Yeah, right? And you've signed your guy in Pierce. You have your Uh Corner for the future in sauce. as you've given up your first round picks for 'em. Steelers?
Would the Steelers pay Daniel Jones $50 million per? No. With Will Howard here and Aaron Rodgers sitting around waiting for a contract. That fan base was. No way.
Aaron Rodgers told Pat he has had zero conversations with Pittsburgh. No, I know that, but he said that they've had conversations. He just hasn't had a contract. No progress. Right.
I I can't imagine Pittsburgh would do that. I mean, Minnesota's not going to offer it to him to compete with. They didn't want him to leave JJ's place, though. Atlanta's about to hop on tour. Right.
Mm-hmm. Yeah, that's about it. Honestly, I think they played this nicely in Indianapolis. And again, congratulations to Alec Pierce. Hey, ESPN radio audience.
Disney plus audience. I know you might be somehow, whatever, new to our program since we came on the air here in September, but. Um We've been around the block on The Rich Eisen Show for 10 plus years. This is a year 11 for us. A few years ago in the NIL Deals.
started. We decided, you know what we're going to do? We're going to come up with one of our own. Remember we had a glue company? We hooked up with them.
And we kept naming Glue Guys, which is identifying players. In college football, that might not get an NIL deal. Like, we're not going for the star quarterbacks. We're not going for this star or that star. We're going to find the kids that are a glue guy that do a lot for their team.
And give them glue? A little bit of cash. Nothing wrong with that. One of them. Back in the day at Cincinnati, he was named Alec Pierce, who does not need our glue cash anymore.
Another one, the first one. You remember who the first one was? That's right. Jordan Davis. Jordan Davis.
We were, guess what? He just hit over the weekend to the point where there's rumors that Jalen Carter could even be acquired. Jordan Davis hit it over the week. Yeah, he did. Our glue guys, we like hit the fight.
You know who was another one? Jack Campbell? We hit on a lot of the Lions. Right?
We had our glue guys. I looked those up, man. Kenneth Walker. We tried. We tried.
We tried. We tried to make him a glue deal. After Kenneth Walker, this is the year it was. Kenneth Walker ran for all those touchdowns against Michigan. I tried to give Kenneth Walker a glue deal.
Tried. But Michigan State. With Mel Tucker as their coach, they told us to pound sand. They didn't even want to bring it to him. They didn't want to have anything to do with a man's money.
Hey, Kenneth Walker, we try to give you $1,000 in glue. You know who doesn't need it anymore? Kenneth Walker. That's right. Well, we don't know what his deal is yet.
I have it. Oh, I'd love to hear it. Yes. Kenneth Walker gets three years, $43 million, up to $45, possibly. Love it.

Well, the Rams are going to have to put up a lot of points this year. Huh? Chiefs are going to have to score. That's why they're. Or let me just say this: one last thing here.
The Chiefs, this is what the Chiefs do. They draft. Corners They grow them, they grew them. Groom em And then they essentially don't pay him. Trevorius Ward Legerius Snead, now Trent McDuffie.

Bye-bye. That is a big payday. Young children, rush the passer if you can. Oh, man. Wow.
So that's You know, doing the math, that's thirty million per. Which is um Alec Pierce money.
Well, I mean, i i taking a look at it though, I mean Daniil Hunter, who had one of the best seasons rushing the passer of anybody this year, right? He got a one year, forty million dollar deal.
So Getting somebody for two years at that freight, $80 million guaranteed, but over four years, if you can, $30 million per. Um Not bad, man. Not bad at all. And how about this guy, once upon a time, a non-contact injury right in the middle of a good season for him? You're wondering, what's going on?
Good for Jalen Phillips. Yeah. And the Carolina Panthers making moves. Here we go, right? Let's follow up on a big-time season.
For them. Nice step forward. Here comes Jalen Phillips your way. Um to keep pounding. For the defending NFC South champion Carolina Panthers.
I like it. Again, I've by the way, I'm just going to sit here. I don't have the salary cap money here in front of me. Because even if I'm like, well, they still have this much money to spend in free agency or whatever. They can redo this deal, redo that deal, make this trade, make that trade, and somebody's out.
Speaking of, how about this is a. transition, the other top piece of news that I imagine caused you to go I heard an old man, and I heard another old man. Was it the same thing? Yeah. You were talking about that?
Yeah, the Steelers. Yeah, this is the one right here. Yeah, this is the. Alec Pierce signing in Indianapolis has tumbled a domino here. What do you got?
He has the Colts, Chris Ballard making moves, trades Michael Pittman to the Pittsburgh Steelers. For a late round pick, opens up $24 million in cap space for the Colts. Oh wow.
Okay. So, you pay Alec Pierce to be a number one, he's going to get that chance now.
So Michael Pittman Is now on the wide listen. At the end of the year last year, Aaron Rodgers was was throwing to this was the group All right, Marquez Valdez Scantling. Calvin Austin III, September. Scotty Miller, Ben Skaronik, My guy, Roman Wilson, I'm still waiting to. See him bring to the fore what he did to my national championship Wolverines a couple of years ago.
Those memories are fading. DK Metcalf when he wasn't you know, arguing with a fan and contacting a fan in Detroit. Um And Kenneth Gainwell. Right. And it came well.
Led the Steelers in receptions last night. Right. So. Yeah. Pittsburgh got to do something here.
Whether it was in the draft or free agency. And Nice job, man.
So DK and Michael Pittman. And maybe one of these other guys that we mentioned can come to the fore. Don't forget Darnell Washington before he got hurt. The wagon, the yak, one of the most entertaining yak players. John Ru Smith is gone from there.
Um So Hey Aaron. That's one way to wave at him We got your Pittman. When we come knocking on your door, because I think that's going to be the answer for them. I like that, I like Pittman. Dude.
Yeah. I I don't I don't mind him either. He's he's he's good. He's a good receiver. Him and DK Metcalf are two big-time targets for whoever's going to be quarterbacking there.
I like that. And Indianapolis. I I I I like it, but um If I'm not mistaken, I'm seeing another piece of news that's massive. Hit it, Jay Federal. Here it comes.
Maria Cooper. Breaking news. Oh, he's on that graphic. Number two, Malik Willis, Rich Eisen. Where's he going?
Has a new home. The Miami Dolphins land Malik Willis. According to Ian Rapaport, three-year, $67.5 million deal, $45 million guaranteed. I love it. I love it.
I think this is so awesome. This is actually. You kind of figured that was going to happen. It was here, Arizona. I absolutely love it.
For the Miami Dolphins bet on the kid Bet on the kid who was lighting it up at Liberty Bet on the kid who went to Tennessee. And didn't get What he needed. time, didn't get the opportunity, didn't get anything. Didn't have much of a clue either, let's be honest. Yeah.
Didn't have much of a clue. Goes to Green Bay. and was totally born again. Absolutely. And the way he played this year, Jeff Hafley also had the ability.
Same thing with John Erick Sullivan, had the ability. to read into his preparation. Front row seat. saw the way he was working in the building, saw the way he was working with his teammates. I mean, front row seat to scout him.
I understand he doesn't have a lot of experience, not a lot of tape. I get it. Got to make an evaluation. Miami, how many times would they just absolutely Figuratively melt in the cold weather. He just showed you, I can face down Caleb Williams at his red hottest.
Okay? I can face down the Baltimore Ravens at their Zenith when they're running all over us. I can do this. I can do it on national television. I can do it.
Under the lights I can do it. I love this move for the Miami Dolphins. And I don't know how they're going to put it together with their cap. That's what John Eric Sullivan and his new team is there for. Take the dead cap hit with Tua.
Go get Malik Willis. Start from scratch. See where you can go. Him and a channel be an interesting thing. And again, I think this is.
Um A an aggressive move. I don't know what happens now with anybody else that had Malik Willis on their radar screen. Congratulations to him as well. The number of times I am sure he was told: you can't, you won't. He had to hear it, he had to absorb it, he had to ignore it.
And he did it. and he took advantage of his opportunities and now he has hit it. To the point where He goes to South Florida and and can bring his talents to South Beach. That wraps up our first hour of coverage here on this very busy free agency. The Rich Eisen Show Podcast.
