But here's the best part: our YouTube channel. Subscribe at YouTube.com/slashRichEisenShow, and you'll never miss a moment.
Now. On with the show, live from the Rich Eisen Show studio in Los Angeles. Welcome. This is the Rich Eisen Show. Earlier on the show, ESPN analyst and Super Bowl champion Jason McCourty, ESPN senior NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler.
Coming up, ESPN NFL analyst. And three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Alex Smith, Brewers manager Pat Murphy, and now it's Rich Eisen. Number three of the Rich Eisen Show is on the air. If you missed the first two hours of this program, we had a chat with Jeremy Fowler about the trade deadline, and then an hour number one, Jason McCourty of Sunday Night Countdown joined us. If you missed any of it, you can check it out on our Disney Plus page or our ESPN Plus page.
In terms of the Disney Plus page, hmm, well. Disney Plus, you can watch us every day between twelve and three Eastern Time. If you live in the countries now of the United Kingdom, the combined nations of the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, also if you are in the Netherlands or in Denmark or in Sweden or Finland or Iceland, you can see us too, and you can watch for forty eight hours after. That's the role here, because at the Rich Eisen show, we help ESPN broaden its global expansion strategy within Disney Plus. I had that written down.
That's the way I wake up. I'm like, how can we get it to more people? The it being the Rich Eisen show and our outstanding content, like what we did to welcome our new guests. By talking about things we didn't know about those countries, who knew? Sweden had more islands than anybody else.
I didn't, and I'm from an island. I mean, called Staten.
So that's the way we've we've rolled. Pat Murphy of the Brewers is going to join us. Alex Smith is back on the program of Sunday Countdown. Good to see Alex Smith. How are you, brother?
Been a while, Rich. How's it going, man? I'm good. I'm good. Utah's crushing it, Alex.
Crushing. We'll see. Big one tomorrow.
Okay. Tomorrow morning. Do you? Do are you? Are you make a?
Is that that's appointment viewing for you? You're gonna you're gonna sit down watch that? Are you got dad? I actually. I will probably.
I'll be flying to New York. Uh oh. For the Sunday show tomorrow morning. I hope I land and I'll be able to watch the second half.
Okay. But yeah. Yes. This is it's the holy war, Rich. It's the church versus the state.
Okay, this is a big deal. This is a very big deal. It's the biggest one ever. Both top ten teams. We don't we don't like each other very much, Rich.
I've seen that. I've seen the current coach of Utah's comments about BYU when he was a player, and they are they are they're not safe for work. Alex, no, you know, no. No, it's the best thing in sports. Rich rivalry games are the greatest thing in sports.
That's right. There's nothing better. You know when when Urban. Had us at Utah. He he stole.
It became the team down south, which obviously was from the Ohio State Michigan rivalry. The team up north, right? Yeah, but no, it's it's amazing. It's yeah, very big deal in the state.
Okay, families divided. You know, you kind of got to pick a side.
Okay, that's I love that church versus the state. Why have I never heard that one before? That's an old school phrase for this rivalry, or you just yeah, holy war. Yeah, yeah, and so and again, I. I think the cool thing is obviously like listen these teams used to be in the whack and then down west when I played now both in the Big Twelve and both programs have just kind of continued to ascend.
So again, I think this I don't remember having two top team top ten teams ever playing each other in this rivalry game. Can't wait! That's going to be a fun one this weekend for sure. All right, let's jump into the professional ranks. Alex Smith, you've been watching Vikings offensive football for two months.
You think what? When you watch him, oh, well, they're struggling. They're struggling on offense, Rich. Right? Like, I listen.
I don't think you can like pin it on any one thing. Their offensive line hasn't been playing great. They've not been able to get like any consistent run game going. Obviously, you know, it didn't didn't help that Kyler got hurt week one and missed games, and then came back. They certainly haven't been very good on third down, which again is a reflection of their.
You know, poor performance on first and second down. I don't. You know, again, like I, I think from a scheme standpoint, there's certainly you know some things we could talk about there that they could be doing better potentially.
So like, I kind of think there's enough to spread around. I don't think we can pin this on the quarterback or anything like that. They've got to get better. And the reality is, Rich, they only kind of just need to be okay. Right with this defense, they don't have to be.
This doesn't have to be an offense that puts up thirty a game. When you've got this defense, they just need to be. Obviously, they need to be better. They need to be better situationally in the red zone, on third down. And again, I Kyler's a guy that I think can provide a lot of.
Ability in those situations, right, and and that's the hard part. Is I again, there's been so much structure, right, in this Kevin O'Connell offense, trying to I think get Kyler to play within structure. I'd love to see some of the other things, right, like let's get this guy in some QB run situation. Let's let him use his legs. Let's spread it out at times and let him be dynamic.
But certainly, again, like this this offense. And maybe the best division in football. Certainly, the most complete when you talk about these four teams. This Viking offense does need to get better. We'll see if they make any moves here before the trade deadline.
But again, just need to be kind of average. And I think this is a team that competes with anybody.
Well, I mean, our Sunday morning show on NFL Network is shelved for the week because we've got the the Bengals and the. Falcons that we're we're taking everybody to. You've got Sunday, but we still have two and a half hours of pregame show real estate. You've got the usual compliment coming up on Sunday countdown. Not to, I haven't seen your rundown, but I can guarantee you promoting the Monday night game is going to be part of it, and the conversation is going to be what if once plays well.
I already hit that with Jason McCourty. I mean, that's definitely going to be part of the Monday night countdown rundown. That is for sure. Um.
So, is there is there any fairness to that? No. I mean, like, no. That's the reality. You're dead on.
That's the reality. Listen, this is a monster matchup on Monday night. Um.
And again, I think to the point of like, kind of what I just said. This offense doesn't need to be electric for this team to compete with with anybody. This defense is that good. Um.
Listen, I think if you're a Vikings fan, right? If Carson Wentz goes out and plays really well. I'm still not sure he's the guy that's going to take you to the promised land. But if he does go play well, right? Like I do, think it begs the question, right?
Again, do the Vikings try to make something happen right before the trade deadline? I don't know, right? Again, they've obviously got to evaluate that in house. Again, I think to pin this all on Kyler at this point is is kind of crazy. When you watch the film and turn it on.
I think there's a lot of times he's playing really well, right? There's not a lot there within the structure. Again, this offensive line has struggled. They don't have a dynamic run game going at all.
So, again, I think just to put it on the quarterback wouldn't be accurate, but right, that is the reality. Again, you said it. If Carson goes and plays well, there certainly the noise will get louder. We're a week to week league, as we know, Alex Smith.
So, I set up my next question. Question with that as a pretext here: Are the Bears the best team in football now? Yeah, they're they are absolutely contenders, right? Like you look at the moves they made to go into Seattle and put up thirty four points and play the way they did offensively. I mean, they are elite on offense, right?
Like, just think about the week before the Chiefs went there and got absolutely punched in the face. Playing at Seattle against that defense is a monster, and to watch what the Bears did, and pretty methodically, right? Like, again, I know they had the one kind of trick play, but other than that, it was just basic methodical football. It was great run game with great play action, and certainly Caleb Williams, I think, is knocking on the door of. Kind of elite, you know the the top tier quarterbacks in the NFL.
I think his ability, the way he plays in that offense right now, like sky's the limit, right? You you know, again, he kind of continues the way he's playing. Absolutely deserves to be in the conversation with with Patrick and Josh, and you know, and Lamar and Joe, like the the top tier guys in the league. He's right there, and then you go see the move they made. Obviously, to you know improve and shore up the the defense.
Yeah, yes, I think that the Bears compete with anybody. Yeah, I mean the Simmons checks that box for sure, man, and it also electrifies the the locker room where management is confirming they believe now is the time too, right? And that's the thing they crack Sam Darnold's ribs right from jump. The run game disappeared. The Bears did it, and now comes the Bucks on Sunday night.
What challenge does this defense give to Caleb? Because it's a totally different ball of wax, right? Like Seattle doesn't blitz very much.
Now here comes. Tampa, which seems that's all they do, is pressure. Right? What what what's that challenge from your estimation for Caleb now? Yeah, and this Bucks defense is incredibly physical.
Listen, you got Vita Ve in the middle who kind of sets the tone. Right? Like this isn't a defensive front that's going to get pushed around. You said it. Like they're not just going to stand there and take it.
They they're very active. They're going to pressure you. But then again, I think that that's the unique thing about the Bears is they are very complete. Right? Like they got a lot of answers on the outside.
They have so many contributors, right, in the pass game. I think it's hard to take away one guy. It seems like every week it's someone else that that leads them in receiving, and I think that's the unique thing about the way they're built. And certainly this Ben Johnson offense. But I agree.
Listen, I think a lot of this starts with the run game up front, and certainly I think the Bucks will be determined to to stop it, right? And again, so much comes off of that with the play action pass, with the bootleg, with the movement. Again, I think if you're going to have a chance against the Bears' offense, you do need to stop the run first. And in the AFC, Alex, we've been talking all week long from our Overreaction Monday show on Monday all the way to right now that you'd look at the AFC standings, and it's hard to think that the seven who are currently one through seven in the seeds aren't the playoff field we're going to see at the end of the day. With the Browns starting Shadour, can't wait to see what that looks like in New Orleans.
The Ravens now at four and five on QB three or QB four when Jacoby Brissett arrives. There is the Raiders right there at four and four. Do you think the Texans also at two and five? Do you think there is anybody from the outside looking in that can crash this party, or you think the seven we got is the seven we're going to get? No, I mean, I listen.
I I think the Browns have a chance to compete. I think the AFC North is kind of wide open, right? Like the Steelers have put themselves in a really good spot. Obviously, with what happened at the Ravens in the quarterback position, you know, listen, they're kind of a little bit in free fall. Free fall.
We'll see. Obviously, if Jacoby can come, kind of solidify it a little bit. But no, I mean, certainly. Like you look at the Bengals, I—I mean, again, I Joe Burrow is playing as good as anybody. I mean, six touchdowns last week, but.
To score 40 at home against the Titans in an overtime game, right? To think that that is sustainable, it's not. That defense has got to improve if this team has a chance to make any noise in the postseason or to even win that division. I do like the Browns. I think they're an ascending team.
It's you know the youngest roster in football. They got a ton of talent. I love what Coach Munkin's done there.
So I certainly think they're knocking on the door and can certainly play their way in. You. Mentioned obviously the Houston Texans who would have to obviously go on a big run here, but have have the talent and we've seen it from them, right? They did it last year, and certainly capable of doing it. I think for me in the AFC, Rich, it's the bigger question of like who's actually could win the Lamar Hunt Trophy.
Okay, I think I think that you count those teams on one hand, Rich. Go for it, count them. What do you got? Yeah, I mean, and again, like honestly, certainly the team that played last night. I think the Jags are in this conversation.
Trevor Lawrence is playing unbelievable. You look at what that defense has done; they have a ton of firepower. But then you're kind of talking about the Chiefs and the Broncos, and you're talking about the Bills and the Patriots, right? I think that actually have the capability in the playoffs to make a deep run. You know, and and again, all of those teams, I think, when it comes down to it, home field advantage will be a huge deal.
You know, who who can get the buy? But yeah, like to me, I think those are the contenders in the AFC. Right? I think the AFC North. Again, I haven't seen a team certainly with injuries the Ravens sustained, Lamar being out, like.
I don't know. Again, if any of those teams have the ability to to really make a deep run in the playoffs, Steelers and Bengals are off the list, huh? You don't have them there. Listen, I love what this. I love what the Steelers are doing.
Like they are one of the most physical teams in football. When you look at both sides of the the ball, right? Like eight sacks this last week. I think they held. You know, held held them to thirty yards rushing.
They can run the football really well, but. They got to get somebody on the outside to step up and play, right? Aaron Rodgers playing really, really well, but Darnell Washington can't be your leading receiver every week. Pat Fryer Muth can't be your leading receiver, right? They need somebody at the receiver position to really step up and run with this.
And right now, they just they just haven't had it through the first half of the season. I hear you.
Okay. That listen, I'm I'm I'm with you on all of those fronts. Before I let you go, you mentioned Burrow and what he did against the Titans. I showed this to Kurt Warner, so I'm going to show it to to you as well. Can you believe these are winning stat lines in the same week?
Burrow on the left and Baker on the left. I love this. This is amazing. This is yeah, it's amazing, right? Like watching.
Rich eyes and watching that Bucks Atlanta game last like last week looked so miserable. I mean, there's rain and then there's like downpour like that, and it's so funny. Like I think you know, if you play linebacker in a game like that, you're reduced to like a seven year old kid, right? You got like a smile on your face and like this is fun. If you are a quarterback, there is nothing more miserable than a game like that.
I mean, I felt so bad. Like, what are you supposed to do? I mean, come on, you are handling the ball every single play. Just getting the snap and handing it off is so stressful, right? Let alone you got to try to complete a pass.
But no. Do you go to your no thing? Do you go to your OC? Did you think Baker went to the OC? It's like one bubble screen.
Come on, let me give me give me one shot. Just just or a shovel pass. Give me one completion. Come on, I got zero. Like we can't do that.
Yeah, can we run a draw where I just pitch it to him? Yeah, you know, forward. Right. Yeah, give me at least one yard. Unbelievable!
Great to see you, man. Enjoy, enjoy the. Hopefully, you will get to see some of the holy war. And I send my best to you and your family. And let's do this again soon, man.
Absolutely, thanks, Rich. Sunday NFL countdown on ESPN. While we're showing you Bengals and Falcons on NFL Network, it's all part of the Disney World in which I'm helping to expand ESPN's. Broadening global expansion strategy on Disney Plus, it's a big deal. I agree, it's a big deal.

Coming up. The Rich Eisen Show podcast. Spotted anytime something didn't go right, you're like, just stay out of the way, bro. You know, and and and let it happen. Pat Murphy of the world champion Milwaukee Brewers here on the Rich Eisen show.
Our radio audience has returned. There wasn't a game, a moment, May, June, could be spring training, could be April, where you are like, "Okay, I've got the stuff. I know the." These guys never. I mean, we never got on it. We never.
We didn't have more than a five-game win streak. We didn't have more than a four-game losing streak. We were pretty consistent every game, but we had so many holes, and so we had all rookie pitching staff. The whole pitching staff was rookies, and we didn't know what we're going to get. And you hear this thing about innings limit and.
You know, you had no idea what was going to happen, and they just kept showing up. And then, when one guy went down, somebody else would step up that nobody's ever heard of. And then the the main the main characters just kept playing consistently. What's it like having a catcher like Contreras, and how his excellence can permeate the rest of the the team, the locker room, the the clubhouse, the roster? What about what about that?
I mean, he is he is a great player. He's a great player, not the easiest guy to to cohabitate with. You know, like there's a lot about his personality and a lot about how he goes about his business. That you know, he's not inviting you over for for snack. You know.
And so that that's part of him, but you have to learn to love that, and you have to learn to, you know, accommodate it without letting it hurt other people. And you know, I always say this: you know, that the guys toughest to love need to love the most, and he's one of those guys.
So we found ways to love him, and he responded in a huge way. Is there an example you can give of that? Or you're willing to, Pat, of what of William being difficult? Yeah, and how you as a mat like that's that's, you know, I I I always tell my kids or anybody else that you know I'm I'm trying to get to love the sport of baseball. Like you're you're you're not called a coach in baseball; you're called a manager.
You have to manage things.
So you got to be an expert at that, and personality.
So that's that's why I'm asking to try and dig a little deeper on that. Yeah, well, I mean, there's there's things. I mean, there's the the very public thing of him not running out of ground ball against Philadelphia. We already had clinched the division, but he didn't run out of ground ball, and and Turner bobbled it, and then still had enough time to throw him out of first.
So, you know, I pitched hit for him the next time he came up, and he wasn't happy. And but the team understood. And the next time, the next game he played, he hit a ground ball to short, and it was a routine play. And he dove into first, kind of, you know, like that was our communication. You know, our communication was one me taking him out, like, hey, you gave me no choice.
And the second part of it, he dove into first, saying, okay, you want me to play like this? Fine.
So it was great. It's we didn't have to say anything to each other. No kidding. That's that. And so when when he did that, you what you're nodding your head in the dugout.
I smiled. No, I smiled. It was just like, okay, that's beautiful, William. You want to do that, risk getting injured, whatever, just to prove a point, whatever you want to do. But the point the point got across.
I think most of us just. Laughed and said, "That's beautiful." Well, again, for him to do what he does, handling a pitching staff defensively behind the plate, his ABS. One of my favorite posts that I saw on social media throughout the World Series is that baseball should replace the ABS with Contreras. That that he's he's as good as as the technology, right? And and so that his his excellence and obviously him winning the MVP is where where I start with with that.
And then defensively, you do what you do. Your pitchers all throw smoke and can also control what they can control. What about the constantly putting the ball in play? Is there an art to teaching that, Pat?
Well, I mean, there's a commitment on their part to commit to offense. You know, this isn't this isn't just hitting. This is offense, and there's many ways to beat teams. And one of the ways to beat teams is to take balls and swing at strikes. And when you swing at strikes, you got a better chance to put it in play.
And so it's there's not a a philosophy. There's not a way to teach it physically to do it because you're pretty damn good at it. No, they're the they're the best in the world. It's just understanding that you go to the golf course with a lot of different clubs in your bag. You don't always have to hit hit the driver.
You know, sometimes you take out the sandwich and and that's an opposite field ground ball the other way. You know, and they're capable of that. They just have to understand how it how it adds up to winning baseball. Is there one guy that you're most proud of managing? Because of a story, him coming to your team, any challenges, and look at him now.
Is there is there one? Bowers would be the easy one. You know, he's been a journeyman player. Sure, he came to camp two years ago or a year and a half ago. Not this past spring training, but the one before that, he came to camp without a contract and just had to make the team.
And he's just kind of reidentified for himself who he is as a player. And he did that in flying colors. And then he emerged, and wow! I mean, look at the year he had. He's going to be a rich, rich man.
That's. I heard on a hot mic too, Pat. You even you even called your shot where he's going to become a rich man. I heard that one. I did, and that I regret.
I know you've that information getting out there, but it was in jest. It was in jest, and said with love, I'm sure, and respect. And plus, you know, you can't denigrate the New York City metropolitan area and be a Springsteen guy like you.
So let me dig into this. Bruce reached out to you. This actually happened. He did. He did.
How so? Walk me through this entire process, soup to nuts, please.
So we're on the plane coming back from LA, and I guess I guess in my talk at the end of the celebration, I mentioned we wanted to be the last man standing because every season I've coached, I always have a saying that's a Springsteen song, or you know, "Prove It All Night" or whatever it might be, "Thunder Road." And this year's usually one of my buddies, who's a Springsteen fanatic, John Flanagan. Yeah, he comes up with it, and he said this year is going to be Last Man Standing.
So I used it, and he was watching. He called his assistant and said, "Get a hold of these people." The assistant went on online, found out how to contract to contact the Brewers, and while we're on the plane, my assistant came to me and said, "Hey." Springsteen's office called. He wants to arrange to have a conversation with.
Well, we we made the arrangement, and then it didn't happen. Then I am sitting at my table early in the morning, and I see seven three two Freehold, New Jersey, come up on my FaceTime. Do, and I am like, "You got to be kidding me!" I swipe it, and he's sitting there doing the same thing I am doing, just sitting having his coffee or whatever. He's like, "Hey, I think we got something in common." I am like. Bruce, you have affected my life.
You have no idea.
So then I start this, phone. You know, like this stuff starts coming out of my mouth about how he's impacted me and and how I name every season. I show him my tattoo on my arm, and I'm, you know, I'm going on and on. And he's smiling, like. And then I said, you know, to top it off, I said, if I have a free night and I don't have my kids, I said, I.
Put on YouTube, and I watch your Broadway show, and I said I laugh, I cry, I do everything. I said I said it's like therapy for me, and he said, it's like therapy for me when I did it, and yeah, it was just great, great conversation. Man, that's so awesome! How many shows have you been to? I'm not exactly sure.
Not not a not a whole bunch. I. I probably ten. You know, I've had a chance to go backstage. I've had a chance to meet him.
Oh, you have. I just don't want to meet him like that. You know, I just wanted to meet him the way I did. You know, a call from Freehold, New Jersey, saying, "Hey, what do you got?" You know, and I'm like, "Ah, you know, what a thrill!" But yeah, I just his music. Yeah, it's like it penetrates me.
You know, it really does. Like it does, people who get it. I tell people, you know, like if you don't get it, you don't get it. I'm not going to try to convince you.
Well, I mean, I've seen him so many places because my wife is a massive Springsteen fan. Again, I'm from Staten Island, so obviously that's in. You know, I went to high school during the Born to Run. Years and so, my brother-in-law is a monster Springsteen guy as well, and I've seen him in the what the Atlantic City Convention Center. I just saw him years ago here.
He closed the the old Clippers Arena, the LA the LA Arena here. He called it the Dump that jumps, and and and it's. There's nothing like a man. I mean, and and and I it it speaks to I think your managing style too. I'll be honest, you know, a collector.
Yeah, it it's it's really affected me in my life, and it's been you know I'm not I don't have any musical ability. I don't I can't carry a tune, but but I want to tell you his message. You know when you listen to him, and you know I grew up Irish Catholic in New York, and you just can kind of relate to what he talks about. And yeah, it's beautiful. Give me your top five, top five Springsteen songs.
Pat Murphy, what do you have? You know, you gotta you gotta throw Darkness in there, No Surrender, Prove It All Night. What's the one if I should fall behind? I just thought of that one because I was just somebody just sent it to me.
Okay. The Rising. The Rising is amazing. The Rising. Yeah.
Seeing the Rising live, I get goosebumps even thinking about it. Yeah. What about 10th Avenue Freeze Out? That just you know the lights come up. Right.
Yeah. When he introduces everybody, that's right. That the big man. Yeah, the big man. Oh yeah.
Um, this is great. Yeah, I saw him in Fenway last, and it was it was terrific. Um, not in Fenway in in Wrigley in Wrigley. Yeah, you're allowed there. You're allowed there as a as a as a citizen.
Pass. Allowed there. I stuck it. I stuck it. I imagine you.
You know you are not terribly popular there. You know as you are up the toll road. You know, yeah. It hasn't been. It hasn't been the friendliest place.
Okay. Well, I just wanted to get you on the show and tell you congratulations. Thank you, man. You know, congratulations and what a journey and what you have done. My last one for you is.
Bob Eucher, Pat. I need your favorite. I need your favorite Euch story. What do you got for me here? Yeah, I mean, I tell people this all the time.
I got to sit with him alone for about forty-five minutes a day for two years, or for yeah, parts of two years. I saw him for ten years every day at home, and. The only thing I can tell you that there's not one story, but he didn't want to talk. He didn't want to do the radio show. We got that done in four minutes.
He sat and just wanted to talk, and I just wanted to talk to him. And we rarely talked about baseball. And what we we talked about is his pain, his reality, my pain, my reality. I mean, you want to talk about getting close to somebody. Knowing he's going through lung cancer and all the all the health problems he's had over the years, and he beat every one of them, and all all the tragedy he had in his life, but for him to stay so positive and for him to be that person always there for somebody else, you know, just incredible.
And he was at home in that clubhouse. There'd be a player brought up from AAA, maybe only going to be there a week, and he he'd make friends with that guy, and he talked to that guy like he knew him his whole life, and would remember the name and and and just the guy standing there looking at him like this is Bob Euchre, and he's treating me like I'm a star. He did that with everyone, and just so relatable, and that was really his therapy. He'd come to the ballpark and be around the guys. That's where.
That's where he was most comfortable, and I would love it. I would just we, I mean, hell, we'd go out late for the game because we'd be talking. His people have to come and get him. Say, Bob, you're on the air. You know, I love that.
I love that. Was there, was there a part in the run before I let you go in the playoffs where something happened, and you're like, okay, that's Bob. Bob's here. Game one, game one against the Padres. We're in the ninth inning.
We're up by a run. And Ty France hits a ball, a moonshot that's easily going to be a home run. And for the first time in my eleven years in in Milwaukee, it hits a wire up on the roof. It gets knocked down, and Chirillo catches it. And I mean, it was like a Kemalajuan swat ball, and.
And Cheerio catches it, and we win. And you're like, if that ain't Yuke, I don't know who is. You know, you know. We talked about it many times, but yeah, there was definitely. And then you look at Cheerio's at bat.
We load the bases against Mason Miller with with three walks, and all of a sudden, you know, Cheerio has this you know incredible at bat. And people think we had the signs and all that, which is absolutely not true. But let them think what they want. But you know, you just like this is meant to be. That's when you started to go.
This is magical, Pat Murphy. What a pleasure! Thanks for chopping it up with me from Springsteen to baseball. I do look forward to meeting you in person one day. And I guess what what.
Prove it all night is is next year's phrase. Like, are you already working on next year's phrase? Like, something about, you know, working on the back streets. I don't know. Got time.
Think point blank. What else do we could do? Going down Thunder Road because it won't be easy. There'll be some thunder. That's I like it.
As long as there's no freeze out, we don't need that. Yeah, let's go. Let's get out. But then we'll we'll get through that. Get through that.
We'll get back on the right track.
So I look forward. Right, Pat. Thanks for the time. Really appreciate it. You be well.
I appreciate it. Pat Murphy, everybody, right here on the Rich Eisen show. Just absolutely delightful. I'm so happy for all the Brewers fans and all the Wisconsinites that I know.
So great, so awesome. They will never forget it. Amazing, ever, ever, ever. It gives you goosebumps just talking about it. Totally, pretty cool.

Congratulations, the Rich Eisen Show global takeover has begun. Yes, that's correct. Domination. That's right. Uh huh.
All right.
So first of all, the Dallas Cowboys. I will always root for them. I will always cheer for them. I will always wear the colors. I will never sign release forms, despite what Jerry Jones is putting his pipe and smoking it.
Which brings me to TJ. I will always back you up, TJ, especially with against fans like.
Sonic and Phoenix, you can't put a blame on another Dallas fan. Who is this guy? We should knock the coins out of Sonic, manny. It's week nine, so if Dallas is gonna do something spectacular like Seth Rollins tossing crutches to the side, now's the time because that big clock is ticking, baby. Yesterday, fantastic interview with Brian Urlacher.
I was waiting for him to say that he's coming out of retirement to play alongside Jesse Simmons. Another thing about Mister Urlacher, he looks great with hair. I think he can pull it off for a really nice. How are you going, higher register? Jealous man.
Urlacher's lid is next level. If the Bears do what the Knicks and Brewers did, by God, I don't mean to jinx anything, but if they hold that Lombardi Trophy, will this convince the big bosses? Big Wigs in Chicago to keep the Bears home there and lastly, just lastly, Mr. Brockman, question for you: A comment you made got 22 crying emojis from from Lebron. Yes.
The other day, you said the Ravens need Jacoby Brissett, and it happened. What's next on the docket? Great, gentlemen. That's all I got. Congratulations again.
Be safe, be kind. Let's watch some sports, everybody. Love you guys. Hey, Rackham. If we rack people, Rackham.
Um, what is next? What's next? We'll see. You can't force this, Chris. You know what I mean.
It's got to come. You can't force greatness. It's got to come to you. It comes. It's going to come to you.
I'll let you know. For the love of Iceland, figure it out, man. I did like Iceland. By the way, can I just tell you guys with my research? Did you realize that unlike most countries, the UK does not have a single written constitution?
I didn't know that. Did not? Yeah, me either. Instead, it governs. That's you know, governance relies on unwritten traditions, historical charters, and parliamentary statutes.
I don't think I don't think Longshanks wrote anything in Braveheart, right? Longshanks. Everything goes back to Braveheart for me when you talk about the United Kingdom. Yeah, I don't know how much of that was true. What do you mean?
Braveheart. I think they took a lot of liberties. He was eight feet tall in the movie. I've got my top five matchups for the rest of Week Nine. Oh yeah!
Hey, you ready for it? I like that. And it's brought to you by Hyundai. Let's go! Hit it.
High five! One, two, three, four, five. Ridges top five. All right, here we go. My top five rest of the week nine matchups.
I'm looking forward to the most. Brought to you by Hyundai. Number five. Once upon a time, the battle of the Bay Area.
Now it's Vegas versus San Jose. I like this. You know, like the Golden Knights versus the Sharks. Shout out to E Ford. But it's Raiders and Niners, man.
Fun Raiders and Niners. Niners coming off of their first loss of the season, and then a bye week sitting on that. Coming back healthy, except Mike Evans is not ready apparently. See what happens there. The bye week not long enough for Mike Evans to come back.
True, but looks like we're getting Nick Bosa back right. Looks like we're getting Brandon Ayuk back in the building, unless his key card's not working. Listen, play the fifth. Do you think they're really going to go to the IT? Make sure Ayuk's card works.
Yes, no chance or doesn't work. Listen, the Raiders coming off of their first win since their three-game win streak to start the season, followed by a four-game losing streak. Kirk D Cousins going into the spot where we all thought he was going to go. Kirko changed until. Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch jumped the gun for Jimmy G because Brady said get him out of here, allegedly, probably.
But Kirk Cousins, the guy coming into the spot, okay, Kubiak, the whole system. This is a whole Shanahan tree of Shanahan situation. He ain't getting traded. I can't wait for this one. I think we got this.
Number four on the list. Good luck. Number four on the list. Tapas for breakfast, everybody.
Okay, hola. You get a paella. I I I I don't know about much. Have you had paella before? I I've been to Marbella.
Okay, that's close. Bengals Falcons from Madrid. I'm looking forward to this. Marbella is a city in Spain. What will the Bengals do to follow up?
The run that they've been on right now.
Well, the Falcons need a W, man. They'll fall behind by two scores, and Joe Burrow will lead the back. We'll see what happens.
Well, can the Falcons put two scores together? It's been a bit. They'll look awful. Although they did, they did beat the Niners, and then they got their throw that game out last week. Like I said, here we go.
Here we go. Please watch. I'm waking up in the middle of the night so I can be there for you. What time are you getting up to? Two thirty.
It's just not. It's it's it's obscene. The time it's not seen. It's obscene. Just stay up.
Yeah, that's all you want to do. I'll be up by the time. What a terrible idea! I won't keep coming up with terrible ideas. Number three.
Wow! The Bears just came off the Bear biggest win of the Ben Johnson era regular season win. Let's call it that.
Okay, they won a playoff game. I get it, and they beat the Pack. Are the Bears who we think they are? Yes, pound the table. The Bears are they who we think they are, or is Todd Bowles going to say, "I watched that film in Seattle.
You just sat back there and you know, had a Giordano's pizza, Gino's East. That sounds delicious. You know what I mean? It does. Got yourself a little Wiener Circle pizza to work for, and then.
Hands it off and throwing around. No, no, no, no. We're going to be blitzing you from the O'Hare tarmac. Fire. Completely different situation.
Here we go. Bucks have won two in a row. When will Baker complete his first pass and get a single passing yard? Because once that happens, the Bears got him right where they want him. Because when Baker doesn't throw for a passing yard, they win.
Sunday Night Football, number two. Your Packers and Patriots contest. Fun game. Fun game, it is. Yeah, late window.
Drake May, Jerake May. No AJ Brown, no Travion. Haven't needed them. I have not. Have you?
So, and the Packers. Here we go. Packers. We haven't seen them since the week eight kickoff.
So they're off the mini buy. Here come the the Packers. Packers. All right.
At this point in time, the Lions will already have played the Dolphins. Getting ready for the Vikings, we'll see what the Bears look like on Sunday night. The Packers go second in terms of the windows of football for the NFC North, and the Patriots are going to need to stay on the Bills' heels. We'll see. Because number one is the Monday night game, Bills and Vikings.
I think this goes without saying. Carson Wentz getting the gig. We'll see what happens.
We'll see what it looks like. If it looks anything better than what we've seen, I think we might see him again. Quite frankly. And then here's the Bills. Just another spot for them to go into with their Mandalorian quarterback and try and kick some tail.
Can't wait. This defense versus Josh Allen and the offense of the Bills. Let's go. I need one more.
Okay. All right.
We'll get one more. Here we go! Oh, Jase, I've been manifesting all week, and it's time for JJ McCarthy to get back out there. Off his bye, let's go, Joe Milton. Let's give that a whirl, Milton.
The Eagles and the Giants. The Giants coming off, and then a few days later, have the Washington Commanders. Can they go ahead and over a five-day stretch stamp themselves on the NFC East, or will the Eagles stand in their way and end their long losing streak? Get into the Hyundai Getaway Winter Sales Event. Get away with the deals so right it almost feels wrong.
