Earlier on the show, NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah. Basketball Hall of Famer Chris Weber. NFL Network Insider Tom Pellisero. Coming up, actor Kim Fields. And now, it's Rich Eisen.

Hour number three, the Rich Hisen Show is on the air. We're on ESPN 2 right now. I still feel the same way. And I still look the same, which is me, for whatever reason, shaving down my beard, but. Apparently, I'm missing my mustache, and it looks like I got a full-on mustache.

It's great. Like I'm a Howard Hughes or something. I'm going to look for Howard Hughes. I don't know what's happening. You went Major Dad before.

Major Dad. You know, I'm Major Best Dad ever. There you go. Hey, now. Whatever.

Rich. Kim Fields is in our green room. She's going to come on out. We're going to play Celebrity True or False about her. lengthy career that is um part of now it's The Upshaws, seasons one through seven of the Upshaws Available now for streaming on Netflix.

She plays Regina upshot. I mean, she's gone for Regine to Regina. You know what I mean? That's a that's a that's a little living single reference for you. I'm looking up bald men with mustaches.

Okay. Great use of your time, Chris. I mean, what else should I do while you're doing that? Should I just keep talking? First one up, G.

Gordon Whitty. Not bad.

Okay. How bad. I feel like I should break into a hotel.

Okay. Not terrible. All right. See Gordon Liddy. All right, all right, I'm back.

I mean, that was. G. Gordon Ritchie. Is that me? Just saying.

Okay. Great. Let's go to Evan and I.

Well, let's take his phone calls, Manahano, for about an hour. What's up, Evan? Evan, what up, man? Hey, how's it going? How are you?

Good. I just want to say how professional your gentleman is too that answered the phone call. That was very Pleasant conversation I had. He's faking it. If you ever met Adam, the last thing you're thinking is that's a professional.

Maybe my kind of professional. No, Adam's great man. I'm sorry. He's worried about the Bears. I am in.

Oh, he is flipping out about the Bears going to Northwest Indiana right now. Amongst all the smokestacks. Yes.

Well, at least we're not coming to Iowa. I mean, but there's a large Bears contingent in Iowa, right? Yeah, but not the kind that I like. I'm a Vikings fan. All right, okay.

Well done. Hold on. Um so like I mentioned to him, I am an aspiring scout.

Okay. Um I am planning on going to the Combine. I am currently like Um I'll be honest, I'm unemployed. I'm I'm trying to this I'm using this As to turn positive and not be negative with it, I'm trying to chase my dream of working in football, being a scout, evaluating players. When I'm there, um What is the best?

I was listening the other day. You said people hang out and steak and shake in Starbucks. What's the best way for me to approach people professionally and not get on their bad side? Because they're there to work and I'm there to hopefully spark a conversation. I think just walking up to them and just doing what you just said is I'm I'm I'm My name's Evan, and I'm an aspiring scout.

And I'd love to just pick your brain for a minute about what you think I could do to break in. How did you break in? That sort of thing. I think most people are very friendly. You can walk up to them in the convention center.

You can walk in the convention center. Um, you just, you know, unless you have a credential, you can't get past certain points. But everybody walks in, you know, hotel lobbies, um, any anywhere, everywhere people are everywhere at the combine like that, Evan. And they seem everyone seems to be in a a good mood because we're we're back to football and everybody kind of loves that. You just go to Starbucks, you just gotta have your head on the swivel.

That's all. Yeah. Like a desperate, you know, stop, stop, Evan, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop. The whole desperate thing. You're a guy who loves football.

You love it. You want to meet people? Just go up to him, say it with your chest, man. Listen, don't get down on yourself. And I understand there may be times that for you right now where you feel down.

But let me just tell you, everyone you talk to, every scout started somehow. And certain scouts get a leg up because their families have done it, or their families know a coach, or their families know this coach and that coach. But some people started from scratch. And they've been in your position. And I think that if you walk up to them, you know, in a way of saying, I'd love to pick your brain.

They'll be very receptive. And if somebody's an a-hole to you, then just keep it in mind and don't hire them later on when they come asking you for a job. How does that sound? Exactly. Yeah.

That's really good advice. And I hope to meet you guys there, too, as well. And we would be welcoming you with a handshake and a chit-chat. That's for sure. No doubt.

Okay, man. No doubt.

Look for us.

Okay, bud?

Well, I have a face for radio, so don't ask me to be on your show.

Okay, Evan. That sounds good. Noting, I appreciate it. That's Evan and I and I'll be straight up with you. I hope I'm not going to get in trouble for saying this.

But a lot of the scouts I've met Not really lookers either. DJ started as a scout. Exceptions, you know what I mean? Exceptions. You know what I mean?

He's spiffy.

Some scouts are spiffy. You know what I mean? You know what I mean? I hear you. Rich.

What? Should I shoot everyone straight here? You know, I got limitations. I'm out of moves. You got a mustache.

You got a mustache. Who knew I had moves left? I think that's the last move. That's the last move. That's it.

That's it. I'm out of move. You're grasping. Just when you think you're out of moves. No, no, it's hope.

Excuse me. I'm going to be positive about myself. I was just trying to be positive for Evan. I'm positive. I didn't know I had another move until today.

Until I shaved off the beard. I thought I hit the mustache. I show up on, by the way, the biggest platform we can on ESPN and the rest of our streamers. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I look down, I'm like, is that just a mustache?

What the hell am I doing to myself? Did David Cross have a mustache in Arrested Development? Yeah. I'm Tobias Fumke of Sports.

Okay. Just saying.

Okay. Right? Just, you know, okay.

Okay. It's a Friday.

So it's time for what's more likely presented by Pello Windows and Doors. What? What's more likely? Never say never, but never. All right.

Hey, Christopher, what's more likely presented by Pello Windows and Doors? You have the floor in that kind of rhymes. What's happening? More likely to be Rich Eisen's final move. All right, thank you.

Very good. All right, thank you. We talked about it earlier with Tommy P, and it's going to be a storyline. I think until at least mid-March, until this guy makes a move, who's more likely to be the Steelers week one quarterback? Aaron Rodgers and Malik Willis.

I will go with Aaron Rodgers. I kind of feel it. I kind of feel it. And certainly, you know, we have Omar Khan slated as a guest next week. I'm sure he will talk about how much they love Will Howard.

And you will be there. And you can smell what he's cooking. I can't wait. Or think that this is a little bit of smoke and they'll be in the Malik Willis market. But it does appear to be a situation where they are into Aaron Rodgers coming back, and Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers together again as the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Uh a coach and quarterback. Um It is wild. It's the last time for them to make it back to the Super Bowl with the combination that beat the Steelers in their last Super Bowl appearance. You know, I. It's the latest of you can't make this stuff up.

But I don't know why. But everybody you speak to, and I'll again hear it at the combine. Feels that this is Done or going to happen as much as anything involving Rodgers prior to a new league year. Sussing it out can be considered as done. But I feel like this is a real deal thing.

And if it's if Rogers Doesn't want to play anymore, then that's the only way it doesn't happen. How does that sound? That's the way I get the sense. I kind of feel it that way. Because if he wants to play again, like, where else would he kick a tire that would take him?

And he feels like it would be. A match? that he doesn't feel like he's swimming upstream when talking to a coach or a coordinator or a scheme. You know? Maybe Minnesota, honestly.

Maybe. But I I think they're I think it's nines Time there. Yeah. Again. Chris What else?

Alright, another storyline we're gonna keep watching. A.J. Brown. More likely Eastern Division that AJ Brown is playing in in 2026. NFC?

Per AFC.

Well Not just the Patriots thing. You see, Bill. I'll go NSC. You see those rumors? Again, we've got Howie Roseman as a slate as a guest next week.

Um is scheduled to appear? And uh if If if He said before, like, they're not in the business of tapping out on players. This. Successful. Let's see what Sean Manion can do with him.

Let's see what can happen. I wouldn't trade him. I wouldn't move him. I know what you're after. I know what you're after.

You see him in a Patriot uniform. Did you see him on Gronk and Edelman's podcast? Did I ever?

Okay. I've watched it a dozen times.

Okay, this is what he had to say about when he was a Tennessee Titan. And if you remember, Mike Vrabel said, as long as I'm the Titans head coach, A.J. Brown's going to be with me. And then. He got traded away.

But this was A.J. Brown's side of being a wide receiver in. Uh Mike Vrabel's locker room.

So Rabe is the type of coach he wants to, he's going to call on you in the meetings. He's going to make sure that you're staying engaged. And he's going to go over the keys to victory of the week. And he's going to, and you better know him, like to the back of your hand. Right.

And so. I used to write in my notebook. 'Cause at the time I didn't really like Bray I didn't like him. I admit that he knows that. And so I used to write, I hate rape, I hate rape, I hate rape.

Right? But I was doing that to pretend like I was right, I was taking notes, to look like I was engaged, but because. He was so hard on me when I was a rookie and I didn't really understand it. And so it was at the time I told Rey, I was like, hey. Like, I'm humble already.

You don't got to humble me. But I really didn't understand what he was trying to. you know, push me to be. When I say he holds every single player accountable from top to bottom, I don't care who it is. Like, that's who he is.

It makes the team come together because Nobody's bigger than the team. Nobody's bigger than the program.

So you have to respect it. That's on the Dudes on Dudes podcast right there. Confirming why they My vote cast for Mike Vrabel as coach of the year, I think was um Spot on. But I I I think this This does give you hope, oh man, right, that he now understands as a veteran. being held accountable and Let's go into the offense that's definitely going to have this offensive coordinator.

It's not going to be a. Round robin every other year with an offensive coordinator. But what he wants and what the Eagles are going to do with him, I don't think the Eagles trade him.

So, what's more likely? I'll say NFC. All right. What else, Chris? All right, Bower, Bower.

But, um,. Gives you hope. It does. It does. A.J.

Brown on the uh on the Patriots. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It gets me going. I got you.

I don't blame you. February. Going to combine next week. Obviously, can confirm. It is likely.

Anyone takes down the 40 record? Is it more likely the 40 record goes down again, or you top your own 40 record? I'll top my own 40 record. Ooh, that's the one I can control. Yeah.

Do you know how much training I've done for it so far? Please don't say. Zero. Please don't say zero. Please.

There's no way. How dare you? Please. How dare you? So I won't say zero.

Point one? But is it truthful? No. Uh But I'll get there. When?

When are you going to get there? I promise you I'm going to get there.

Okay. I've got, when I come back from the combine, a good month and a half of just solid getting ready. Every year, Chris prays for you to train. I know that. He does.

I know. Not the only one.

Well normally TJs don't want to receive Susie's text for each show. But that's the one I can control.

Okay. I'll say it's more likely I break my, what, the 5'96 or last year's time? No, no, no. I want you sub six, baby. Oh.

Sure. I'll never say never.

Okay, great. Thank you. And I wanna and I won't do the Tomlin drop. Oh, I won't do it, but you can, Mike, if you want. No, I'll say never.

I'll just say. Never say never, but never. See, that last but never, I won't say. What else, Chris? Rich, there's a big basketball game tomorrow.

Have you heard about this? Oh, baby. Duke Michigan. Is it more likely that Duke Michigan is a title game preview or one of them doesn't even make the final four? Oh.

I'll say one of them doesn't make the final four. Oh. Yeah. Yeah. I think there's better teams than Duke out there.

Back up. I teed it up. Yep. There you go. I thought you said, what's more likely that Michigan gets another.

Double-digit victory? Or You know, Duke wins. I thought that would be the... What are you going to say? You know what I would say?

Yeah, that's what I mean. Oh, I see what you're saying. What's the fun in that? Oh, okay. Yeah.

No, no, I think it's more likely that one of them doesn't make the final. I'm trying to give you a tough either-or here.

Okay. This one wasn't tough. Little NBA here. Is it more likely to win the Eastern Conference? Yes.

Either one or two seed piston Celtics or the field. I'll take the field. Not a Knicks, hopefully. No, I would take piston Celtics right now. I really would.

Again, the Knicks, the Knicks. Um You know, I mean, C-Wet was talking about that at the end of the day. Will they miss Tom Thibodeau's defense and defensive mindset in the playoffs? Yeah, maybe. Or Mike Brown's way of playing upstyle without the same sort of Thibodeau fight.

Focus or intensity on defense? Will it cost them? And at the end of the day, um you know the pistons might just have their number And Is Tatum coming back? That would be Tantala. I think he might.

In the playoffs, not like this a week from Sunday. That's it. March 1st is a little early. I think it's too early. Like, what's the point?

I don't know. I'm not sure. Like, what's the point? Why would Tatum come back March 1st to what? Try and lessen the gap to catch Detroit?

No, I think just to get his legs back. No, I know that, but you know, it makes no sense. Yeah, they're not fighting for the ones. No. Like, what's the point?

I think they've hit their high watermark in terms of a seeding. Yeah. And if as long as Jalen Brown keeps on triple, doubling and the rest of the team does what they're doing. They can stay in the two seed, three seed, two seed. It's like the gold jacket, green jacket, right?

Right. So. But I would take the fill. Again, I understand. CADS fans.

Hope I am wrong. But James Harden, game six, game seven performances in the playoffs in his career. It would be an outlier for him to suddenly show up, connect with Spider-Mitchell and the rest of that team, and suddenly advance because he shows up in a game six or a game seven. to his Hall of Fame potential Does that make sense? It does.

What else you got? Let's go to the West. More likely to win the West. OKC or the Spurs, so they're 1-2 right now, or the field. Why do I want to go to the field here?

Well, the field includes Denver and Kevin Durant and Lakers and the Lakers. Oh, sure. And the Lakers. They're also in the Lakers. Why not the Lakers?

No one takes them seriously as a title contender. No, they don't. I don't know why. I don't know why. Luca took the Mavericks once upon a time deep.

deeper than the Lakers have been taken since the since the bubble. True. Um I'll still take Thunderspurs too. Clippers too, maybe? Clippers?

I'll still take Thunderspurs. Two. You'll want more of it? Last one. Gold medal game Sunday.

Early wake-up, guys. 5 a.m. West Coast time. Unless they change it. Team USA gets underway in about an hour.

Is it more likely the gold medal game goes to overtime or is decided by multiple goals? Oh, I'm going to go overtime. Why wouldn't it? Yeah. Why wouldn't it?

Right? The U.S. advances to the semifinal in overtime. The women win the gold in overtime. Are you picking up what I'm putting down right now?

I'm feeling you.

Well, yeah, I'll go. That is going to be a stressful morning on Sunday.

Well, I mean, if it goes to overtime. Have the men made it yet, Chris? Not yet. They plan an hour. What's more likely?

They make it or they don't.

Well, I think you want it. I mean, if you watch Canada, they had a little controversy on their third goal. What did they use a finger to put? It was a possible icing situation. Ended up standing, possible offside, excuse me.

Ended up standing. Mm-hmm. I think, you know, a little juice to get USA Canada. Is that what it is?

Okay, fair. Maybe goalie interfere. I'm just saying. You didn't get my, did you get my reference using the finger? I did, but that doesn't really play in.

Oh, okay. I'm here all week. You're not here all week. I wasn't. I wasn't.

At a minimum, dude, you could have at least done like the whole Subway series kind of thing and had it in New York and the Mets. See, but he's been a Yankee fan forever, and now the Dodgers are winning, and he shows up with this hat. I almost kicked him out of the studio.

Well, and rightly so, but at the end of the day, I can appreciate the nod to the respect. Yes, you will. See? But, but no, no, no, no, no, no. Don't take that and run.

So, my first sports center. By the way, Kim Fields is here. Our radio audience just returned. The Upshaw is available for streaming on Netflix, a funny program with some really funny people, including you and Wanda Sykes, Mike Epps, just to name three. All seven seasons, the final season of the Upshaws is now playing on Netflix for you to stream.

I know you were at the 1996 World Series because I was sitting at my sports center set and I'm like, I'm on ESPN. I couldn't go. I didn't have enough stripes yet to say I'm going to the World Series. And I think you were promoting a show for Fox at the time. And they popped you on screen.

And I'm like, I'm not there. Kim Fields is there. How did that happen? What ultimate universe am I in? I feel like for, I'm so thrilled to know you're a Harlem.

Yes.

Individual who grew up on the Yanks. That's right. Absolutely.

So you're like Reggie Jackson, you're like Thurman Munson, Reggie Jackson, Chris Chandler, the whole bit, right? The whole nine, absolutely. Yeah. So I was there because I was doing Living Single at the time. And so we were promoting the show on Fox.

And I was like, that's one of the greatest things. That and when Green Bay won the Super Bowl in New Orleans, I happened to be at that. Super Bowl in New Orleans. Wow. Because again, Fox.

And that was for Living Single as well. That was indeed. Damn, Living Single took you to a Super Bowl at a World Series. Listen, I ain't mad at Living Single, Honey Pie. Awesome.

Yes.

Well, I'm a Michigan Wolverine, and that's where Desmond Howard was the MVP of that Super Bowl.

So Desmond Howard, yes, Desmond Howard, I want to say, did a little cameo on Living Single, if I'm not mistaken. Didn't Prime? Didn't Deion do one too? Yes.

Yes, he did. And they wanted him to wear one of his uniforms. And he was like, no, I'm going to wear my suits, you know. And so it just was like one of those where you go, it doesn't look quite right, but you're Deion.

So we're going to go with it. Yeah. I mean, Deion is still gosh, absolutely. Yeah, he's the most famous person I've ever walked through an airport with. I But you've not strolled with me.

I have not. We have not traveled together yet. Yet. Yet, for sure. Exactly.

Who's the best acting sports figure? Because there were tons of cameras. You know, I loved when John Sally was getting in the ring. And remember when he was in bad boys. I took it back, family.

I took it back. I took it back for sure. He was in Bad Boys. Yes.

Where he stood over Martin Lawrence. Absolutely.

One of the best scenes of the movie. Great cameo. One of the greatest. Absolutely.

Yeah. So Sally could. He's also a fellow New Yorker, too, John Sally. Yes, he is.

Okay. Yes, he is.

I used to love the Pistons back in the day. I used to love the Pistons so much that when they were in the playoffs one year with the Lakers, I went to a game and Zeke and I used to be pals and I had on an Isaiah jersey and people actually threw food at me. They didn't give a good gut dern that I was Kim Phillips. They were like, oh, Kim Phillips, that's how you rolling? Pal with a hot dog.

Just for Roland with Zeke. Just for Roland, yes, absolutely. Yeah, the Bad Boys did not have some fans also. Oh, not at all, but they were just so. They were just so.

You know, the Bad Boys just. It was a great time. Lambert may have predated your acting career. By the way, he was a sleaistack in Land of the Lost. Oh, you mean literally?

I'm not kidding. No, I didn't. You remember Land of the Long? Sure. Which definitely predates your time.

It almost predates my life. That's right. And I just, he was one of those tall guys in that, yeah, in that costume. He was. Oh my gosh, I did not know that.

See, you come to the show, you're learning. Listen, yeah, I'm so happy to be here on top of getting a little gem like that. Yeah. Yeah. There you go.

Kim Fields here on the Rich Eisen Show. I've got Celebrity True or False to play with you, if you don't mind.

Okay, here we go. Celebrity True or False with Kim Fields. Hit it, please. Hit it. Celebrity true or false?

You can't have it. Handle it. There we go. That's our production value. We haven't done Celebrity True or False in quite some time.

It's been a minute. This has been fun. All right. True or False, Kim Fields, your first television credit. was when you were on Sesame Street at the age of five.

That's just mean for you to bring that up. Why is that mean? Because you know good and well that that's not true.

Okay. Because I thought it was true for years. And my mother, while I was doing an interview, finally said, baby, you were never on Sesame Street. You were never on Sesame Street. Really?

No. So you do not know how to get to Sesame Street then? No, not at all. Not at all. See, this is why we play this game now.

We have to get to Sesame Street.

So that is not true. That is not true. Yeah. I thought you knew that that wasn't true. I thought you were messing with me.

I am not messing with you.

Okay. Absolutely not. Yeah. Yeah. It's amazing how things get out there then.

Well, because I was putting it out there.

Sorry.

Sorry.

Yeah. So you you thought it was true. Yes, I thought I had been, I had, I had watched it so much that I thought that I was there. Counting with Grover and all of that, and come to find out. That is amazing.

I was doing an interview for TV Guide. Remember TV Guide? Oh, yeah. I was doing an interview for TV Guide. And my mom just finally, she's like, I'm sorry, but baby.

Because she had heard me say it a few times in interviews. I was just starting to, you know, get famous and doing PR and stuff. She was like, baby. I'm sorry, but you were never on Sesame. Were you crushed?

I was stunned.

Okay. I was stunned.

Yes.

And I think at that point, even though I didn't know that that's what it was called, I started to understand the power of the mind. Interesting. Yes.

Because I had seen myself on there. You had made it true in your own head, but it is not true. But it was not true.

Okay. Next up, true or false, you beat out Janet Jackson for a commercial. Yes.

And you would later appear alongside her in a couple episodes of Good Times. Yes.

That is true. That is true. We are true here. You are very true there.

So you go way back with Janet Jackson. Absolutely.

What was it like on the set of Good Times? That was fun. Yeah. That was fun. So my mother, again, mom, so mom had been on the show first playing her abusive mother in a very powerful, memorable, two or three part episode of Good Times.

But then when I came on, it was, you know, fun. And it was still like, she's Dana Jackson, you know? And even when I auditioned for the Miss Book. Butterwood Syrup commercial, which that was my first gig. at age seven.

This, by the way, is my Fifth decade in the industry. And so, because that was 1976.

So, I'm very excited to congratulations on that. Thank you, guys. Thank you very much. Longevity is not something to be, you know, taken for granted.

Well, you would actually know that as well, as we talked about earlier, that I am just so in awe of you and the road that you have carved and forged and paved and all of that. But for real, for real, and without a blueprint. And so I think that we have those things in common. But yeah, it was great being on the set of good times with her. Bet.

I bet. Look at that photograph right there.

So that was obviously years later, but we had certainly stayed in touch and still over all this time.

Okay, yeah.

Well, my only connection to Janet Jackson was being at a Super Bowl once upon a time. Nope. All right. Next up, true or false. Your facts of life character, Tootie, wore roller skates constantly in the first season because you were nine playing a 12-year-old, and the producers wanted you to look as tall as the rest of your older castmates.

Yes, that is true. I was nine playing 12. Right. And they really wanted to hire me, but I was so small, I was a small nine. Right.

And so they said, Well, can you skate? Let's maybe put you on something.

So, roller skating like in a rink, you know, in a in an oval, that's very different than navigating a set with stairs. And when we would do different strokes, which, you know, our show was the spin-off, going up and down. Remember the Drummond staircase, that massive curved staircase, baby, going up and down stairs in skates? They made you go up and down the stairs and skates? Yeah, yeah, because that was my thing.

My character was like, you know, always, always wearing skates. But yes, that's why, because in quote-unquote real life, I was too small. Wow. What do you think of when you see this photograph? I remember being a fan of Rick Springfield.

I mean, I see Mindy and Nancy. I mean, Mindy and Lisa. Hey, y'all. But that picture with that Rick Springfield album cover. Yes.

I was actually in the Rick Springfield fan club back in the day. I kid you not. I had the purple sweatshirt.

Okay. He had done this little recording to his fans that you could play on a record player. And that's what I remember. We were also, I think, in Lisa's condo in Westwood at the time. But I mean, like I said, hey, I don't even remember.

Is that a dog? I don't even remember the dog. I remember.

So wait a minute. I don't know where this photograph is from. This is not from the set. This is like you guys hanging out. That was us hanging out for like Tiger Beat or a press moment.

I see. Yeah. Yeah, but that's what that was. It was like a slumber party thing with the facts of life girls or something. But that Rick Springfield is there because you're.

That's very real. Did you ever meet him? No. Okay. Yeah.

Okay. Yep. All right. But there you go. There you go.

I follow him on Instagram now, too. Let's get this thing.

So once you're a fan. Did you see him try to hold back his disappointment? I'm not disappointed. I'm not disappointed. No, what would you say?

No, you're true to yourself. Once you're a fan of Rick Springfield, you can't go back. Once a fan? Yes.

Of course. Yes.

Once you have Rick, you can't go back. Yeah. Did you? I mean, that's another way of putting it. Yes, yes.

All right, true or false, you studied broadcasting at Pepperdine, where one of your classmates was a pre-This Is How We Do It Montel Jordan. Yes, yes, yes.

So Montel and I went to Pepperdine together. When he became a Kappa, I was actually a part of the line that went as a Kappa sweetheart.

So I'm kind of Greek adjacent in that way. But yeah, and I had a talk show. In my senior in our senior year, and he was like my Paul Schaefer, if you will. Come on. He would sing and do the crowd warm-up and stuff.

Yeah. Yeah. Up at Smothers Theater. Who else did you have on his guests? Oh, my gosh.

So it started out with my dear friend and brother, Blair Underwood. And then Jason Bateman, Betty White, Sugaray Leonard, Gladys Knight. Come on. Yeah. And would be Goldberg.

And Whoopi Goldberg, yeah.

Well, your Rolodex must have been deep by that point. It was much to my surprise, but yes, yeah. And everybody's like, yeah. The thing that really got me was when I asked Shigure and he said, only for you would I do an interview the day after a fight, because normally he wouldn't do because he's got to let everything. You know, stop the swelling.

Sure. Even when he wins, you still, you know. I thought he wasn't touched in his wins sometimes. You know what I mean? Well, now.

I bet. Yeah. Understood. Yeah, of course.

So he did it for you after a fight. Yeah, after a fight.

Okay. Yep. Jeez. Yeah. And Daryl M.

Bell from a different world, he was my drummer because I had a little house band. And he. Yeah, yeah, because I was studying broadcast journalism and I wanted to be a sportscaster, actually. Come on. Yeah, yeah.

I grew up watching the great Jim Hill. Jim Hill, still doing it? Yeah, and Bill Weir was also in our class that graduated that year up at Pepperdine. Currently on ABC, right? ABC News, Bill Weir?

Yeah. Okay. Wow. Wait. I think so.

Isn't that the same Bill Weir?

Okay. Okay. I don't know. I'm at CNN. Oh, CNN.

That's right. Okay. Okay. Yes.

Right. Okay. No kidding. That's pretty cool. Yeah.

Wow. I love sports. I love. I'm a, yeah. I know.

And you said you were a manager for a team or a high school team.

So my high school team, yeah.

So even though I was doing facts of life while I was still in high school, by the time I was in the middle of my junior and all of my senior year, I actually went to Burbank High and not used studio school and my tutor. Sure. And so I was, I got very involved in all things high school. I was in student body. And so I was the manager of our baseball team.

Anybody that we would know that came out of your team?

Okay. Yep. So you're a teenager in high school. Yeah. Taking schoolwork.

Uh-huh. Also, performing on facts of life and managing a baseball team. Yes.

And I went to every football game, every soccer game. But yes, what's your question?

Sorry.

No, there's no question. I'm just marveling. I mean, your ability to handle all of that. And like I said, student body.

So first semester of senior year, I was the head of back in the day they called it assemblies. And then the second semester, I was vice president of student body. Look at you, Kim Fields. Yeah, you were. Are we going to see any more Living Single or what?

What do you think? It's all, you know, never say never. Everything is always a possibility. We love how everyone still loves us. We don't know about a reboot as much as the rumor mill has been spending.

Yeah, it's been quite a bit, right? Yeah. Well, I know you did the reboot movie, right? I mean, you did that back in 08 or something like that. No, no, that was.

We didn't do a movie.

Well, there's a rewatch podcast. Right, sure.

Okay. So that's very popular right now. Facts of Life did a reboot movie eons ago.

Okay. Oh, there's our Living Single Girls. Yeah. What do you think of when you see this picture? Oh, I think I look good as hell.

But other than that, I think of our friendship. I think of how groundbreaking we were. Like literally, there had never been a show like Living Single. And currently, I think, how dare you come after us acting like y'all are the originals? Oh, did I say that after?

But I just, I think of just how incredibly epic Yvette Lee Bowser was and is. for creating that. You beat France of the Punch by a year, right?

Well, then there's that, yes. Right. Yes.

Yeah. Yes.

Friends came out in 94. Yeah, you're in 93. Yeah. On Fox, obviously. We were on Fox, they were on NBC.

Yeah. And they were Warner Brothers, and we were Warner Brothers Ranch. The fact that it endures to the point where people here in 2026 saying, Can we see more? Like, where is everybody today? Yeah.

Right. Yeah. And everyone still looks amazing. We've talked about it a lot. The.

Six of us are on a thread with Yvette. Our text thread is incredible.

Sometimes I say that's actually the reboot because of how much fun it is. But we there's a living single text chain in your phone. Yes.

Yes.

It's pretty cool. Yes.

Yes, it is. And there's a Facts of Life one, too, with my Facts of Life sisters. Yeah. Okay. And I did Dancing with the Stars, so there's one of them.

I mean, I keep on. You got a lot of text chains. I do. I do. I have a lot of text, a lot of text threads and things.

What's the oldest check you open up for residuals? Oh. What is it? 'Cause I open my residual checks on the air here every now and then. You know, my five cents from my two CSI Miamis.

It's probably when I was on either Fresh Prince or Martin.

Okay. 'Cause I really don't get them from Baby I'm Back, which was my very first series. That's Damon Wilson, right? You just passed away.

So, yeah.

Okay. Look at you. Come on now. I just don't know why I remember things. It just sticks in my brain.

But I remember that show too. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. See, you and I go way back.

We didn't even know each other. It's amazing we just finally met. I can't even believe it. I can't even believe it. Two Yankee fans.

One who was at the 96 World Series and one who was not. But I'm over it now. Are you?

Well, yes, because you're real. Like you're a real deal about it. Yeah. Like you weren't just showing up to say camera flash and the old Yankee Stadium. I went there for my birthday.

It was one of the last seasons that they had before, you know, the new spot.

So I have been to Yankee Stadium. I mean, my grandma was Bronx.

Okay. Yeah, Grand Concourse, the whole nine. Bodegas. I feel so much better. And tell me about the final season of the Upshaws.

Oh, it was bittersweet for sure, you know, because we feel like every episode, let alone every season, we leave it all on the floor. You know, you just give it your all. And Mike and Wanda did such an extraordinary job of staying true to the characters and what they set out to do, make something that was funny and real and irreverent. But also a nod to the classic sitcoms that we grew up on. And so it was really great.

And then we've got great guest stars. There's Kim Cole.

So she and I had worked together. There's a little reunion. There's a reunion for you. Yeah. Jennifer Lewis was on.

I mean, just great, great guest stars for sure. But it was bittersweet. But again, you know, it's like MASH when it ended. It's like, well, you know, it's going to end.

So you give it a nice button. You give it a nice bow, you know, to give to the fans. And I think that we did that. In spades. All seven seasons available for streaming on Netflix.

The final season premiered back in January. This has been a delight having you here. You got to come back because we have barely scratched the surface. I think we have barely scratched the surface. We got to talk about how I know the phrase yak from John Madden.

He would always say that's some good yak yards have to carry.

Okay, yeah.

When I tell you, I'm true to this. No, I know that. And I feel, like I said, I feel so much better that the 26-year-old version of me sitting in Sports Center was going, How the hell am I not there? And that you were there in spirit. Through you.

Through you. I've been a fan of yours since the first time you ever came on camera that we knew about. Thank you, Kim. I'm right back at you, too. Big time.

Look at us. Look at us. Mutual admiration. Again, check out Netflix to see all seven seasons of the Upshaws, starring in part our friend. Kim Fields here on The Rich Island Show.

Okay, we're off to the combine next week, but we're on Monday show and then Tuesday through Friday from Indianapolis. It's going to be a lot of fun. You know, he's not going to be there. Andy Reid's not going to be there. Oh, no.

Why not? Andy Reid held a press conference today on Zoom from his office there in Kansas City and said that he's got knee surgery. Just had knee surgery, so he's not going to be there. A bummer.

So, Andy's going to, pressure's on. Andy's going to be watching us for four straight days. He is going to be locked in.

Okay. What's up, Andy? Cheeseburgers and TV. Yeah, man. That's right.

Cheeseburgers. Awesome. TV. Great. And maybe knowing that he was going to watch me, I was inspired to.

somehow shaved my way into having only a mustache. You could go full Andy Reid if you wanted. Oh, there you go. Never go full Andy Reid. That's true.

I can't match it. Why? At any rate, we've got a couple sound bites. Which ones do we have, Mike Hoskins? Ah, remember I was asking Tommy P about Travis Kelsey.

Here's the latest on that. There is communication, though. That's the main thing, Sam. And I always go, I've said this before to you, just. As long as there's communicational good, that means people want to...

move forward and uh and I think that's where Travis, I'm not trying to put Words in his mouth at all, and I try to give him some space here. He's been doing this a long time and He can sort all that out as he goes forward. uh we're proceeding uh with that and and there is communication going on Let's get him back. Let's get him back.

Now, well, we got the opportunity, right? In all honesty, you know? Yeah. And then there's another.

Sound bite about him with Mahomes. Uh and what's the deal with with Patrick? Yeah, he's around here all the time, spends a ton of time here. Seven hours a day and he's in there cranking away Making progress every day. That's about half the battle on these things when you have these injuries that you show up and.

It's not going to be a pleasant thing every day. You got to fight through it. you got to attack the challenge of the workout and rehab. He's doing a great job with that. You know, another reason why Andy Reid's so great and completely um Um With his players and supporting his players, that he would have knee surgery of his own.

Well Holmes is rehabbing. That they'd rehab. Are they rehabbing together? Slightly different, I think, goals. All right.

We need Andy Reid back on his feet. We need to see Mahomes week one throwing at Kelsey. Let's go. Jeremiah Love in the backfield. We don't need that.

Yes, we do. We definitely don't need that. No, we miss the Chiefs. We miss the Kansas City Chiefs. When you say we, you mean you.

You. Maybe the Royal We, or there's a lot more people than you think. I'm not going to lie. It's more interesting when the Chiefs are good. I missed them a little, Rich, at the end.

What did Joe Mangonello call them? The Nouveau Riche? They've only been good like. Recently. What do you mean recently?

For seven, eight years.

Okay. Yeah. Andy Reid could be your older brother. Because of this right now? All right, I'm going to go shave.
