Rules at cokeurl.com/slash soccer rules. Ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to another Wednesday episode of the No Contest Wrestling Podcast. I am the heel that you love to hate, O'Shea Jackson Jr. K.A.
Petty Guerrero. Yeah. TJ not here. I'm sorry, y'all. He's not here right now, but he will be.
You see, he works for another show, The Rich Eisen Show. Ugh, I'm TJ. I got two jobs. Like, we don't care, dude. But he's doing something for the Rich Islands show.
He will be in shortly because we got an interview to do today. We're giving you guys a guest, and it's a familiar guest. Trick Williams will be joining the No Contest Wrestling podcast. Claps all around. Claps all around.
Always exciting to talk to Trick. And we haven't talked to him since episode 10. of the of the pod, so it'll be great to kinda See where he is in life right now. We know that he has a new fiancé out here beating people up as she should. The trip to TNA, where he was running things over there, a lot has gone on.
So it won't be necessarily the review show that you guys are probably been waiting for. There's a lot to talk about, and we will get to it eventually. TNA has got its new deal over at AMC. We got Oba and Javon and Trick, and everybody's making noise. We got Rumble coming up.
We know it's chaotic. We just need today to just be about the guests. But Since it is just me. I would like to address some things. You know how I am.
Controversial, but lovable at the same time. A lot of people might have noticed online. that I posted me at a uh certain facility. over this last weekend. Um Your boy went to the WWE headquarters.
For our radio listeners, they're showing pictures of the facility right now. Um they welcomed me with open arms. Big giant sign with my name on it. I am extremely nervous the entire time. All right.
There's a picture of me in the Undertaker's throne. Forgot he had a throne altogether, but I was in it. I flew to New York. From New York I drove to Connecticut. I drove to a building with a giant WWE title on the outside of it, and some of the biggest W's I'd ever seen in my life.
From there, I saw my name. on the side of a building. Which is just cool every time. And I can't get into full detail. But don't worry.
That message that I said I will always give y'all when it happens has not happened yet. Your boys know contest through and through. I have not signed with the WWE. But What I will say is Some positive changes happening for no contest that I hope to put into effect that will help us not only in our circles with WWE and getting information from them and stars for you guys to be able to talk to. But, you know, maybe some extra things over at ESPN as well.
We appreciate every single one of you because it's you guys that put our show on notice. Whether that be the the crazy comments section, um all the pages that retweet. clips from the show. You guys are what helps us get noticed by people like the WWE and other promotions that have showed us love. Uh but I just wanted to put a little bit of Little bit of wonder.
A little bit of wonder in you guys' ear. What could that lunatic have done? At the WWE headquarters. You'll find out soon enough, I promise. But you know, I gotta make sure you watch next week, man.
You know how wrestling is, but I know you're tired of hearing me yap. Or if you're not, you can just rewind it. But I know you're tired of hearing me yap. How about we get to this interview with SmackDowns? Trick Williams.
We're a fairly new pod, so it's a bit of a rare occurrence when we get repeat offenders around here on the No Contest Wrestling podcast. Yes, we do. We got, yeah, I mean, we got a family member back around here. That's why I'd like to look at it, right? Absolutely.
We got to talk about this journey that he's been on, the journey that we've been on to land in this spot. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the No Contest Wrestling Podcast. Trick William. Trick Willie. Yes, sir.
O'Shea, TJ, let's talk about it. What's up, baby? Hey man, happy to be here, brother. You back in America? I'm back in America.
Hey, until tomorrow morning. Then I'm going again. Where are you off to tomorrow? Man, I'm in Montreal.
Okay, well that's still north. That's not bad. That's not bad. That's not bad. We had to cross an ocean or anything to get there.
Nah, not this time. And you know what? It's SmackDown's Trick Williams, man. Sure. SmackDown's Trick Williams.
Now. When we talked to him, TJ, what did you say? It was episode 10? Episode 10, that was December the 4th, 2024. The first time we got to chop it up with Trick Willie.
Yeah, now pretty early on. That's pretty early on. Yeah, yeah. For both of us. Exactly.
We're about to hit 70. I knew greatness was coming for all of us. You know what I mean? I feel it.
So we've had quite some time in between these visits. And in in that time, a lot has happened for you, and we're going to get to that. But like I said, you are now SmackDown's Trip Williams.
So talk to us about. What that The processes of getting called up from NXT, and of course, how you felt. Man, it's about time. You know, you can't cook your grits too long, you know what I'm saying? That's true.
Right, that's true. But no, man, I was excited, man. I knew, like, I worked very hard, and of course, I know it's very competitive. On Raw's roster and SmackDown's roster. But I felt like I fit like a glove, man.
I just knew I was ready for the moment and I wanted the world to see me.
So, um, I was excited, man. I just couldn't wait. And now we're here.
Now, is it a like a Is it just an email? Do you get pulled into a room? Like, hey, all right, it's time. Like, you know, and then what's up? Saying goodbye to NXT.
How does that feel? May you get a text message from a random number. Congratulations. You are needed for creative. Yeah.
So I was like, man, I hope it's real. Yeah. You know what I mean? But uh. Yeah, you get a text message and then um You get notified through you know through an app that hey This is how we're going to get you to the destination.
And then. you off to the races. Wow.
So as you're reading that text, brother, what's going through your head, your heart? Everything. Yeah. You know, like I say, man, like. It's about time, you know what I mean?
The grit's been on the pot for, you know what I mean? For a minute now.
So, yeah, he was holding down a whole other brand for a whole bunch. I was looking for the next brand I could take over. Hey, man, any other brands that need some ratings? Let me know. I'll find you.
Absolutely. That's how you sell it right there.
So, Trick, you know, we touched upon a lot of stuff with you when we first. Talk to you, but some of the things we didn't get to talk about, it was something that I'd meant to ask you about, you know, when we first chopped it up. When, um, The whole WWE thing started. You put a tape together. Of your football highlights to try to get into the XFL.
Is this true? That's right. Yes, this is true. Um when I got cut by Your former Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. Here you go, Cowboy.
Well, I'm saying I didn't already like them, and then they cut my boy Trick Willie.
So that was more reasonable not to like. But they did give me a shot.
So Anyhow, you know, I got I got released by Philadelphia Eagles. And um Yeah, I was trying to figure out what was next for me.
So I send my film out to go to different teams and nothing happened. Then So what happened was I had an agent at the time and he said, we'll send your information to the XFL.
Now at the time, the XFL was closely affiliated with somebody who was working with the WWE. And all I know was one day I'm filling out this questionnaire for the XFL. The next day I got an email from WWE. saying, hey, uh we've seen your profile and If you're interested, we'd like to have you in for a tryout. I'm thinking.
is this real you know what i mean but like at the same time like i was very interested like i never knew how to get into the business you know it was so secretive You know, I didn't know anybody who was successful, you know, a successful professional wrestler.
So I'm thinking to myself, like, hey, if this is real then. you know, maybe I should give it a shot. And, you know, in my mind, I'm still kind of a football player. I played for 20 years.
So You know, I went to the tryout and I loved it. I loved it. I knew this is exactly where I was supposed to be, man. Like my whole life. I've always been an athlete.
I always loved wrestling. You know, matter of fact, I said my first cuss word at three years old to open a can of whoopee, you know, Washington Cold Steve Austin.
So, when I got to that tryout, man, I'm cutting the promo of a lifetime. You know what I mean? Straight attitude era style. You know what I mean? Just like my favorites back in the day.
But the game has changed, so they said, Mr. Trick, this is a PG product now. You know, we don't talk like that no more.
So, Trick, real quick, let me ask you, do you remember any of that promo? I remember some of it. I remember some of it. Can you hit me with it? You know, you know, ironically, TJ.
Line.
So it's the first promo I ever wrote and I actually said some of it when I went to SmackDown. Oh, okay.
Okay.
So it started off, no, reporting to you live, the sexiest and most entertaining superstar live. Trick Williams has finally arrived. But at the time, I was actually Sweet Daddy Trick. Sweet Daddy, yeah. The one with 3% body fat and the one that can snatch a woman's heart.
Just like that. And speaking of women. Sweet Daddy has two women himself. One named Mercedes and one named Lexus. Lexus, the one that drives Mercedes.
Mercedes, the one that drives the Lexus. And Sweet Daddy gets them confused from time to time. And I see a bunch of bones around here. Breast smelling like 10 pounds to bounce that ass. But let me tell you something.
I just start going in.
Okay.
Sweet daddy trick. He was a whole and he was a problem. He was a problem.
So you created that character, right? Because your uncle. He had something to do with you Coming up with the sweet daddy trick, right? Yeah, man. My uncle, man, my man, all the men in my family, man, like they some OG pimp.
you know, black exploitation in real life. You know what I mean? Black dynamite type. Absolutely. Dynamite.
You know what I'm saying? My shoulder, right on. You know what I mean? Right on. That's for sure right on.
My uncle, Sweet Baby James. You know what I mean? We did the whole video with him in that build to. Uh you know, stand and deliver in Philadelphia, because I stayed with him in Philly. you know, when I actually started wrestling.
Um I moved up to Philadelphia with him, and man, he was so cool, man. Like, he had them shoes. I talked about them, them lemon pepper steppers, them hush puppies. You know what I mean? He was showing me his closet full of Stacey Adams.
You know what I mean? And he have all different colors, and he makes sure all of them are clean, not a speck of dust on none of them. And man, my pops, like. My pop's just a cool dude, man. Like, he got cigars.
and he talked to you real cool, real slow. Oh yes. You know, son. I like what you're doing over there. I like what you're doing over there.
You know what I mean? What you say there, boy. What you say there. Let me learn you something, man. Let me, you know, all of that.
Like, that's just how my family moves.
So, like, that's what I've always seen. And I was like, man, I can't wait till I could just say some cool stuff. You know what I mean? You know, I just want to be cool and say something that people ain't used to hearing.
So, all these things is always in my brain. But, like, you know, I play football. You know, when you gonna when you get the opportunity to let your light shine like this.
So that's how Sweet Daddy Trip was made. Sweet daddy. Lord knows whenever I watch a game. you know, they got situations where you can hear what the players are saying. But you ain't hearing everything that they're saying.
So I can imagine the type of trash talk that's happening down there. Yeah, it's the culture. You know what I'm saying? Like, man, we talk trash. It's funny.
When you watch the Cowboys play, because the Cowboys, they always. you know, losing and they always angry and upset during the game. You know, after every play, after every play, you see somebody about to fight, someone talking trash, then they line up the very next play and see the same person again, then they talk trash again. You know, 60 snaps a game. It's the coaches.
You gotta learn how to talk your trash. You know what I mean? And be about your business. That's promo building. Right?
A different number that texts you, though, right? It wasn't the same. You couldn't possibly remember that first number. That first number, that first random text to the. I know, man.
I would have screenshot at that joint myself. There's so many people that work here, man. You just like, all right, this is another one. Let me lock it in as, you know, mysterious WWE number 75. You know what I'm saying?
Exactly. Now. You have made the move, but before you made the move up to the main roster. You got a piece of hardware. That was history making.
You know, we We're backstage at an event. T and A back in the day. And we just happened to run into you. And TJ, I like it better when you tell the story.
Well, you know, we were backstage in Gorilla and we see you and we're chopping it up. It was the first time we met, or we met him earlier. Yeah. We met him at WWE World, right? Yeah, I believe so.
Yeah. So, you know, we're back there chopping it up. And, you know, when you're in a big studio or something like that, it's usually cold in these. They keep these buildings cold.
So at one point, you're standing right next to me and it's dark back there. And we're watching a match, and you go, boy. I'm cold. And I had a hoodie on. I'm like, yeah, I feel you.
And I turned and looked. I'm like, Trick, you ain't got no shirt on. And you're like, yeah, I know. I'm like, well, bro, why don't you? It's cold.
Why don't you go? You're like, nah, nah, nah. I don't like wearing shirts. And you were back there for like three hours standing just cold for no reason. And I thought, and I don't know why that, I think about that all the time.
And then I go, yeah, but if I had eight abs, I wouldn't wear a shirt either. Exactly. So you back there and, you know, not putting it together.
Next thing we know. You running out on Joe injury. Oh, he was in gear, right? Because the whole time we're thinking, all right.
Well, Lash is here. Yeah. So you're just, and we'll get to her later. But I'm like, oh, he's just supporting his lady. He's back here.
Cool. Like two, three hours, like I said, we're chilling. And then the next thing I know, you know, we all go to catering together. We're kicking it. We're meeting all the other TNA cats.
And then I see you over in a corner and I see you doing like you're stretching. Right. I saw you stretching, you know, and I'm like, you got leather pants on, so I know that the joints is tight. And I see you stretching, and I'm like, And then I went, oh. Oh, okay.
This is here. This is why he is here. And I felt, I know I told Shay, I felt so stupid. Like, why did we not pick up on the fact that we were just happy to be there, man? And so, that right there, that moment, led to you.
coming TNA champion. Trickane World Champion. Yeah, Trickana World Champion. And what a run, by the way. You know, you really look like you were having fun out there because.
I it was You as a real villain. You walked in their house, took their most prized possession, and they had to see you with it every week. Like that is. Walking your trap, take over your trap. Yeah, man.
Walking in your trap, take over your trap. That's villain go. Talk to us about number one. The process of finding out that you were chosen to do this, this historic thing, being a WWE superstar. taking the TNA goal and What was that like walking around there with a property?
Well, first thing first, I mean, the story was spot on. You know, I was backstage simply there to support. You know, the infamous legend herself, Lash Legend. You know, I'm a supportive, you know. I'm a supportive man.
You know, I look out for minds. And then. That's why I was there. Then I saw an opportunity of the red line at the average Joe holding the belt. I said, he'll know what to do with that thing.
So I said, let me go take that up off you. You know what I'm saying? So I seized the opportunity and made it about myself. But no, I was there to support my lady. Oh, so yeah, okay.
That makes assault. And then exactly what it was. We're going to have to cut this person out. I'm like, no, I was like, it was a straight line. Like, you saw it?
It was a straight line. I was like, right to the ring. I'm like, dang. It truly was. Didn't even hop the gate.
I remember when we figured it out, I grabbed my phone and I started recording them. Yeah. So I have him waiting behind the curtain. And then curtains up, runs in the ring. Bam, bam, bam, next you know, Trick really standing tall and everybody else is out.
The crazy thing is, it was exactly 40 yards away.
So I said, I wonder if I could still run this 4-5-2. Dropping the big set. Hiram. I ran a 445. Oh, no, in boots, nonetheless.
In the lemon peppers. It comes a hot step off. No, we uh we spoke to Mike Santana, a friend of the show, Mike Santana, and we brought up him We brought up the fact that you, you know, were, you had the title, and then Kalani Jordan came in, she grabbed that title, and so it was getting a little thin around there. And so we, you know, we asked him. If uh you know what was Kind of the talks backstage, and you know, was it anybody cracking any jokes?
And he said, No, it definitely nobody wasn't cracking any jokes.
So, could you feel any of that? That titch and them looks over there when you was walking around with that gold. Oh yeah, they hated me, man. They hated me every second. I mean, I get it.
I understand it. You know what I mean? A good young-looking dark brother like myself coming in, they brand and you know, taking their title, you know what I mean? Cutting diss tracks on them, right? was wasn't nothing to like about me.
You know what I'm saying? So I get it, but You know, sometimes that's what's best for business. And you know, I mean, the real ones understood what was best for business. Shout out to Top Dollar. I mean, excuse me, AJ franchise.
You know, he understood, like, hey. Hey, you know, we can go somewhere with this movement. You know what I'm saying? He's probably the only one who understood ball. But uh His mind, so I mean, I don't want to, even though I just talked about you pulling the curtain back, I don't want to pull it too.
What do I care? It's unreals out there pulling the curtain back. Why am I gonna try to were you legit saying there were like people legit upset, or is this just like, yeah, they were, I mean. Man, nobody like Trick Willie over there. Nah, I mean, you gotta look at what it is, man.
Man, I come into the game, been doing this four years at this point. Three and a half. You know, maybe three on television, and you tell me this is the guy who's gonna carry the brand to the next level. No, get him a TV deal with AMC. This is the guy who's going to break the attendance record not once but twice.
He's the one that's going to be our world champion, Trick Williams. He don't deserve this. He ain't been in the game long enough. He doesn't know what I know. No, nobody was happy about that, and I understand it.
I mean, but you know, favor ain't fair, so it ain't my fault to, I don't need, I don't concern myself with that. Like mystical said, it ain't my fault. It ain't my fault. Did I do that? Yeah.

Now, what's the feeling? What's the feeling uh uh going over there, European crowds? Um the electricity is It it's it's in the air. You know, when they when they want to get rowdy, they get rowdy over there. Um speak to us a little bit about how you feel differently with When you see people that don't have a chance to see you, you know, all the time, when you go over to do them European dates, and you weren't just over there.
in the ring with just anybody. You were toe to toe with the viper. The vibrant. Speak to us about those moments, if you will. Man, I smacked that microphone so hard.
Hold on, question. Hold on. Yeah, ask them. Because we all want to know. What was that look, bro?
Did you want someone? Where did that microphone go? Hey. Because you hit the mic out of Randy Orton. If you haven't seen it, you and Randy Orton going back and forth.
You smacked the mic out of his hand in the flies. And then you can see you kind of looked at Randy and you kind of muttered something to him. And then Randy just stood there.
So, did somebody get clocked with the mic? It was the look of, oh, did they? Oh, my goodness.
So, no, I mean, all I know was: look, I smacked the microphone because I meant it. And you could feel the trajectory of the microphone, this beam line, right? you know towards all these people now you gotta mind your nxc We don't have fans on that side, so I never had to think about that. You see what I'm saying? Yo, somebody said that on Twitter.
They were like, Trick's not used to having people. Oh, whoa.
So I'm like, oh man, I should have thought about that. Maybe I should have smacked it down. Yeah. I smacked it and it went up a little bit. I just see people parting like the Red Sea.
You know what I mean? Everybody cleared out the way. From what I heard, nobody got hit. But that's what I'm hoping the case is. Nobody got hit, man.
Shout out. Because I tried to apologize in German, but they didn't understand what I was saying. Hey, you tried, though. You don't know how much, you don't know his strength, right? You don't know his strength.
Like you said, if you ain't used to people sitting there, you know, you don't have anyone in the hard cam side. It was one of my favorite moments. Just, I mean, as soon as your music hit, you know, just that. My boy, you know, they're like, my boy. I think I said this to you before we started, man.
Like, When that music hit, bro. And and those people turned it up to a You know, if it goes up to a 10, they turned it up to a 20. Yeah. And when the crowds chanting, bro, like, I was ready to smack somebody, and that wasn't even my music, but it was just because of the way we feel about you. And I'm like, yes.
So, what you hear that? And I asked that a lot of people, man, because there's very few people on earth who like. Get that. You're an actor, right?
So you don't get that feeling because. That instantaneously. What you do today might not come out for nine months, right?
So you don't get that instant gratification. musicians You know, athletes to a point will get that. Wrestlers, especially, when you know you've got men out there who can simply lift an eyebrow. And have everybody lose their mind. What is going through your body, bro, when you're in gorilla, your music hits?
And they are just losing their they're losing it. I mean, I'm going to be honest with you, TJ. That's why I wanted to be in this business. Right. No, when I was making that transition from football to wrestling.
like i went straight back to the era that i used to watch the most and that was the attitude era And when I watched Stone Cold, when I watched The Rock. book a tea Like man, like man, the rock had some skills that can literally control the crowd in the palm of his hands. And I watched those promos and I studied those promos. Like man, like that has to be the greatest feeling in the world. And I said, man, I want to feel that.
I want to know what that feels like. You know what I mean? I'm not going to bite his stuff. That's not what it's about. But I want to know what it's like.
To Entertain people in such a way with presents. and aura and you know just controlling the room. that you just feel like you can do anything.
So, I mean, exactly what you're talking about is exactly why I'm here. This is what I wanted all along. I knew I could see it, you know. Seven years ago, this is what I wanted. And now we're here.
That's the sum.
Now During the John Cena farewell tour, Obafemi Was Kind of a put on uh a lot of people's notice. You will see on Twitter and things like that, people say, you know, who is this? Who is this guy? And that same thing was happening when they saw you take over an entire crowd overseas, by the way. You know, it's not just you're not doing it.
They could have just had a show in Carolina and you could have killed. But you're over there overseas and you still got them singing a song. And so it makes. Those of us that watch you in NXT Have the biggest. I told y'all.
You know, I told y'all. Y'all need to be paying attention. What's going on on this CW, man? Right. So for.
All your your your NXT people who who've been riding with you for this long. Can you give me... three things from NXT That you'll miss Mm.
Well man. Can I break it down to moments, my favorite moments, fantasy?
So man, number one, I got to go. You know, my whole interaction with Lash Legend. You know, had just won the NXT goal. And all of a sudden she want to pop on TV with your boy. I simply told her, you know.
You see all this gold on my waist, and you want to taste it, don't you? You know, you want to take the gold off and get to the chocolate on the inside. Yeah. Yeah. You're the people you call me Trick Willie Wonka.
Yeah. You know, that right there was like, hey, man, you're cutting up. You're cutting up on people's TV screen, man. Like, that's one of my favorite moments right there. Trick William Walford.
I gotta say. Strong number two. Strong number two. Is the Iron Survivor when the Iron Survivor match, period? Yeah, that was so amazing.
Man, that match right there, I lie to you not. And I'm definitely biased. I ain't gonna lie. I'm definitely biased. But as far as like organic organic just structure of how everything came into place.
You know what I mean? Just the people who was involved in the match. I'm talking about Dijack. Josh Briggs Braun Breaker, Tyler Bate. Trey Williams.
I'm talking about five blowers. Like, five guys. who single handedly could have won that match and everybody would have been like I'm satisfied. You know what I mean? All five of us, you know, hoopers.
And then the structure of the match, period. I believe Shawn Michaels. you know, created this style of match. And I just think it's genius because What happens is there's strategy and there's a time limit. Which makes it feel like a sport.
It makes it feel like a game. You know what I mean? Like, you got to beat the buzzer. And that's what, man, that... I feel that 100%.
Like I played ball my whole life.
So just the way that match was structured was just like the most beautiful. No thing As far as storytelling, I think, ever. You know, and I'm definitely biased, but I put that match against anybody's favorite because that match is just... The way it the way it fell It was just perfect. And uh Let's see.
Third, I gotta say, finally winning the title from Ilya Dragunoff. You know what I mean? Like, I gotta pay my respects to the mad dragon because he's a guy who can just, you know, I mean, make you feel he can take your game to the next level. You know, I see the comments, like, and they are not lying. Ilga Dragonoff is that good.
He pulls something out of you that you don't even know that you're capable of. And I remember one time Ilyas he kicked me in the face. See? Protect yourself, Trick. Kick me again.
And my vision just turned off. Like T V screen. In my right eye, vision turned off. I can't see. He kicked me again.
My vision cut back on just like that. I said, I'm about to whoop your ass. And I finally understood, like, oh, this is where we're going. Let's go. We get to another we another part of the match.
He's chopping me. This is another match, but this is who Ila Dragonoff is. He's chopping me in the corner. He's chopping me. He's chopping me.
He's chopping me. I'm selling down. You know, my chest, hurting, bleeding, all types of stuff. And he missing, chopped me in the eye. And the fury that went through my bones at that moment.
and I caught his arm. And I said, are you outro? Mine, you know what I mean? Has some other adjectives and verbs in there. And the look on his face.
It was just like, oh man. Oh, that's amazing. He said, oh, we just fighting. We just fighting. We just fighting.
And then I remember, I said, I'm just going to inflict as much pain on him as possible. And I run and I hit him with a knee as hard as I could. And he hits a backward flip and he's bleeding out of his forehead. I cover them. And the people, he kick out and the people go crazy.
You know, he ends up winning the match or whatever. I said, I can't wait to see him in the back. I can't wait to see him in the back. But, you know, that's the Mad Dragon, you know, that's who he is. If you over there, you over there with him now.
Well, wait a second, real quick. Wha when you when you did see him in the back. What was that? Oh, you know how that's right. Yeah.
That's like Rocky Creed. That's like Rocky Creed, what, three. Nobody knows, you know what I mean? The tape cut off. Yeah, the tape cut off.
Exactly. Ding. Ding. That's how you keep watching, Trick.
Now, um, you're over there with the Mad Dragon. You over over there with Mello, too.
So, what is that feeling like? You know, have you guys. spoken at all? And, you know, i has there been any type of uh congratulatory text? For mellow, or anything like that?
Are you guys sitting around like, look at us? Yeah, look at us. I mean, we cool. It ain't beef. You know, it ain't love.
Last time I seen him on screen, you know, we did a tag match together. And I think there's a mutual respect. I mean, Shout out to Carmelo Hayes, man. I mean, like, he. Man, he is that once-in-a-generation type talent, man.
Like, the things he does in the ring is, you know. Amazing. You know what I mean? I do think that we're very different. and how we approach the game.
So like I feel like he deserves his flowers and I think he's a great talent and I wish nothing but the best for Mello. But um Yeah, we just you know, we We different, you know what I mean? He does his thing, I do mine.
Well, I can't wait for that program. Just think about the video packages they're going to be able to put together with Trick Mellow gang when they finally lock up one day for the big gold belt, which is going to come eventually. You know money when you hear it. You know money when you see it. And that's money right there.
Not to type the jingles, it's to type the folds. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We're not trying to make it rain, not make it hell. You know what I'm saying? Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm. One thing that popped into my head real quick, you get back to you with Lash in the Trip Willie Wonka thing. I don't think you'll mind me telling you this, but when we were chopping up backstage, we were asking you about Lash. And I don't know if you remember, you said to me, yeah, man. I went over one day and I didn't leave.
I was like, what do you mean? You just moved in, and you were like, Yeah, I didn't leave. It's nice. No, it's nice, man. She cooks, you know.
She got a whole. Cooking show. Yeah, cooking show.
So, the true story is: man, I won't give too much information. But uh You can really thank my little brother. My brother, man, I love my brother, man. Like, we like this. Yeah.
You know, me and my brother, you know what I'm saying? And he played college ball, everything. And, you know. He said, Hey, you know, you know, Matt, you know, my government, Matt, he said, hey, man, I'm coming over, you know what I mean? You know, I'm just in between things right now.
I'm going to stay for a couple weeks. Um And He's like, till I get back, you know, get back going. I was like, cool, no problem. Then he moved in. And then, you know, it's a perfect opportunity for me to slide over there.
So And then I left mine to go over there. I'm like, man, it's nice over here. Smells good. Smells good. We got furniture.
Right. You know, oh, we got breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You know what I mean? Yeah. Oh, yeah.
I didn't want to go back. Shout out to my brother. I'm like, man, you can have this. You know, I'm gone. And don't nobody blame me.
He started leaving an easy decision. One plus one equals two. He started leaving his shoes there. I got my back. I left my shoes.
Now my toothbrush is here. Oh, man. I got my gear bag is over at the crib. Yeah, yeah, I'm going to just stay. But you know, a good woman in your life, man, changes everything.
You know, you just start realizing, like, man. I guess that would have been nice to have, you know what I mean? And then you go back, you be like, nah, I can't move back here. It's over. My couch got a dip in it.
I'm cozy. You got a couch? I didn't have no couch, man. I had a chair. Had two chairs, you know, two lawn chairs over there.
Sit on a basket. Wise move, trick Willie. Wise move. You don't know what you don't got until you see it somewhere else, you know? And I don't.
Uh-oh. It's like. You always see memes and stuff online, like, you know, a dude. I need like this much stuff to really be happy. All the memes were like, you just see like a TV on a box in the empty PlayStation and a chair.
Like, this is all a man needs. Yeah, exactly. Man, if I want something to eat, I'll just leave. Right. So, but when you start to get that, that, you know, that home cooking, and it's just like, oh, yeah, oh, yeah, dude.
Do put the room together, right? We do need some plants. It changes everything, it changes everything. And then you want to make sure nobody else gets in there.
So you're like, no, no, no, no, no. Leave my shoes. This is it right here. Yeah, man. Yeah, she got me, man.
I chased her. I chased her for, man, a year or some change till she finally said, yes. And then um Yeah, that was an easy move, right? There, once I got my foot in the door, you know what I mean? Shoot, yeah, those are here now.
Let some lemon pepper steppers get in there. You know what I'm saying? She tried to close it, she tried to close it. I put my lemon pepper stepper right there between the crevice. That's how we work.
What are you doing, girl? Hold on. Exactly. Excuse me. I got something to say.
Now, you, you know, she got some hardware, too, around the finger, man.
So can you take us through what. Going through your mind on that, you know, as a man, I'm a single black father, TJ, you know, so I need to know the process of situations like this. How you know, how was the heart feeling? You know, what was the game playing, and talk about the success. Man, I'm gonna tell you exactly what's going through my mind.
I'm taking all donations, WhatsApp, Cash App, started GoFundMe. That diamond right there, you know what I mean? Arm, leg, leg, yeah. Arm, leg. Good gracious.
Well, I'm behind you. Threw my contract out. Through the whole contract at a finger, man. Good gracious.
But. But uh nah man, you know. She she just deserved it, man. Like, like I said, just having a good woman in your life, man, things just change. You know what I mean?
Like, you can literally see. Like the evolution of Trit Williams. Like man, when I first started wrestling. At NAC period, I was probably 212 pounds. You know what I mean?
Soaking wet.
Okay.
You know what I mean? Yeah. And the first thing she told me. When he was like, Okay, we're gonna do this. I was like, Yeah, we're gonna do this.
I bet we locked in. She said, you need to put on 30 pounds. Take it. You're talking to me? How are you gonna tell me what I need to do?
Like, no, you ain't finna tell me. But I put on those 30 pounds. Of course, you did. Because she's cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I ain't skipping no meals.
You know what I mean? You get your. You know what I mean? You're getting your carbs, you know, your mashed potatoes, your macaroni, you're eating all the things you need to eat. And She literally.
You know, that's a visual representation of how I've just grown since I've been with her. Like in all phases of my game, like. I ain't wasting time in those streets, you know what I mean? Trying to chase nothing that ain't for me. You know what I mean?
I'm locked in. You know, she support me, man, like. That alone right there. Makes you feel like a brand new man in itself. Like, it's cool to believe in yourself, and you know.
That's very necessary. I've always believed in myself. But you got a little extra insurance when your lady say, No, regardless, you and me, we good. And you move a little bit different, and you know, I mean, you can pop off a little bit more because, shoot, my lady said we're good, you know what I mean?
So, I'm gonna be the king here regardless, so it don't really matter.
So, you know, that's that's just a good feeling. Oh yeah, she get what she want, man. Like, you know. Yeah. No.
I couldn't. LeBron James couldn't throw an alley you better than that. That was, boy, you dunked that in, bro. That's what I'm talking about, man. That's a great answer, man.
So, Trey, let me ask you this. Like, so the first night she goes out there with the ring on and she gets into a little scrap. Are you like, oh, would you take that off? Or, like, did you. Cause we know that she had the ring on Yeah.
Yeah. Hell no, I know that ain't what I thought. I know you are. It's like big boy. I know they ain't who I think it is.
I know they ain't who I think it is. And now I guess that brings up my backup question. Did you ever think about getting a Fugazi, a dummy ring for her to wear on the road? If she is in the ring, did that ever cross your mind after, especially after that, I'd have been thinking, like, let me get a copy of this, John May. Because, you know, I already told her, man, I don't want her to ever feel like.
First thing first, last like the fight.
So, you know what I mean?
So, I'm gonna go ahead and say that first.
So, I never want to put her in the situation where she feels like. She needs to defend herself because she already has no problem. Defending herself, you know what I mean? But You don't want your lady in no harm's way. And this is something that I didn't think about because Hey, how you know till you know.
So yeah, man, we gotta, you know. Fugazi insurance. All that, you know what I mean? It's like, hey, if something ever happens, you let that go, and you know. Because I need you to come back.
We ain't worried about. you know that It'll hurt, but it would be okay. No, you talk, it seems like you're talking more real life. I'm just talking more of the ring. You gotta have the prop one and the hero one, bro.
That's all. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I'm talking real life. You know what I'm saying?
And it is real life because don't bring that ring out there to that ring. And You know, get your bell rung.
Okay.
Go ahead. I want to ask you, so we'll take it back a little bit to the first time a lot of people may have noticed you. It was in March 5th of 2021. You made an appearance with Apollo Crews as a member of the elite guard, which people picked up on later. Take us through that process of you getting the call, like, hey, we're going to use you with Apollo and Commander Aziz back in the day.
What was that all about? Yo, so first thing first, this is like my second week of even being employed. you know, in WWE.
So, you know what I mean like Bro, I remember boy. I didn't know which way the camera was. I ain't know nothing. Like, brand new, you know what I'm saying? Happy to be there.
Yeah. And you know, they said, hey, we need you on SmackDown. You know, I mean, we looked at your ancestry roots and we saw that you 32.5% Nigerian. you know what i mean so you're gonna come be a nigerian bodyguard All right, cool. You know what I mean?
I meet Apollo, he's dope and everybody. Denzel Desernet, he was the other. Nigerian Guard. And um That's the first time I met. You know, the all uh people in guerrilla at the time, and that was a cool, you know, moment for me.
Then um I think the next week. was coming to do it again. And Apollo was hyped. You know, this is a new character for him. And, you know, now the pressure's on, and like.
At this point. Like, I know who Apollo is, like, I don't wanna mess this up for him, you know what I mean? Like. He's getting his push and everything like that. Then um I just remember like a couple of days before we had this ring build at NXT where everybody's together and we building the rings, you know, for training and everything like that.
And somebody You know what I'm saying? Must have had you know the covet or whatever the case was so uh So, you know, that wasn't good because that thing must have spread. And I didn't know that. You go I had COVID. Yeah.
And and I rode down to Tampa with Denzel and he didn't know that he had COVID.
So we got to get tested, you know, to enter the building because, you know, the protocol is serious. Yeah. And, um, So we both get tested. We were riding down, laughing, joking, eating food, the whole ride down to Temple. And then they said, actually, both of you tested positive for COVID.
You are not needed for SmackDown. And then, like, as soon as they told me, my heart dropped, and I instantly had a cough in my throat. Yeah. Like, I didn't know I had COVID, but as soon as you told me, like, it jumped on me as soon as they told me. And that's what I'm trying to hope for.
Long story short, SmackDown was and said, Yeah, we'll go ahead and lead them boys down at NXT because we'll need you and your COVID up here messing up things. you know, for Apollo, so It was a short it was a short in and out thing. Which all worked out for the best. I mean Apollo. you know, still got it going and, you know, we went back down to NXT, which is where I needed to be and learn what was going on anyway.
So yeah, it just prolonged the inevitable 'cause you made you now you make SmackDown every week. Every week, man. And with Lash being on SmackDown, I'm sure obviously that was your your preference, but did you get a say in whether you went to Raw or SmackDown? Nah, nah, nah, I ain't getting no say. I mean, you know, they had the whole bidding war, you know, between Nick Aldous and Adam Pierce.
Yeah, that was dope. Throw me the most money, you know what I'm saying? Shoot, you know, out is through the back, so. Let's get it going. I remember when Adam Pierce be tripping.
I remember one point I told you, though. I'm like, I've never seen Adam Pierce.
So smitten with somebody, you were like, call me. He goes, I'm gonna save your number. Because you never, he was so, he was like, yeah, I'm gonna save your number. I like him. He's cool.
1-800-whooped at. I'm gonna give you a call. But yeah, man, when you got there, you got to go. Toe-to-toe on the mic with Nick Aldis, with Cody Rhodes, with Randy, with Sammy. You know, they trusted you enough to let you go on there and do your thing with these stars, man.
That had to make you just feel like, you know, Yeah, yeah. No, definitely. I mean, like... Shown. Man, I love...
you know, watching them work. You know what I mean? Adam Pierce, man, he pushed it his heart and soul. every time he on tv man i think he's just phenomenal nick out is too You know, anytime we can get a low. No.
uh styles clash, you know, with the promo work in, you know You know, Nick Alders, he got that accent, you know what I mean? Yeah. So, you know, I love, you know, working with somebody who's from somewhere else. You know, give you that rush hour feel. You know what I mean?
I love that.
So, you know, it was great working with both of them. That's what's up. All right, trick You got a future ahead of you. Anybody who's watched you, anybody who's seen you for a second. Uh can see that Your future is bright for you.
What are you excited for now that you're on the main roster? There's a pretty uh it's a pretty special event coming up in what uh a week or so? The Royal Rumble. Even before that. We got Saturday night's main event.
Absolutely. Absolutely. It's going to be our brother Trick Williams going against Randy Orton, against Damian Priest, and Sami Zayn. and the winner will become the new number one contender. To Drew McIntyre's undisputed championship, brother.
So, you know, what's going through your mind now? Because You are now, you were being thrown into the mix, right? You didn't just get called up to wrestle some Jabroni curtain joker. Like, you got three main eventers, you got three future Hall of Famers in you, brother.
So, Curtin Jerker is crazy. Curtain Jerker is crazy.
So, you know, what's that like? What's that feeling going in, knowing that, like. You know, by Sunday, if all goes well, the world, if they don't know your name, will know your name. Nah, for sure. I mean, um I mean, you said it.
I mean, we got the Royal Rumble coming up. But before that, we got the Saturday night main event. And the truth is, you know, if you win the Royal Rumble, you get the title shot. Yep. It's also true that if I win Saturday night main event, then I'll already have a title shot to become.
the headway world champion of the world. you know, WWE.
So Hey, I might not even be in the rumble. You know what I mean? That's something. You know, somebody they could be having that rumble so they could face Trid Williams.
So, you know what I mean?
Or you could win this fatal four-way. Then go to the rumble and with that, they knew you was gonna say some wild shit. Then you get to mania and you just chill because there ain't no because you're already you versus you, you know. I mean, and that's what I said from the jump. I said, I'm here to win gold.
I said that from the jump, and I meant that, you know what I mean? And I I'm standing 10 toes down on that, man. I'm not here to make friends, smile. No, no, we smile once we make it. We ain't made it yet.
You know, one thing I like to ask people, and this is going in your pockets a little bit. You already talked about the ring, and that was something beautiful. Very expensive, I'm sure. But I always like to ask people: man, like when you get a little bump in the income, right? When the check is a little bit bigger than it used to be.
What did you do for yourself, brother? Like, you know, the Parks and Rec had a special episode called Treat Yourself. Where you just went out and you bought something, you did something that's completely ridiculous and way too expensive, but you did it.
Now that Trick Williams is, you know, making his way up. And right now, Trick, you're making the least amount of money you're going to make for the rest of your career because, you know, it's going to go up and up and up and up. But is there something special that you did for yourself, you know, now to kind of celebrate where you are right now? You can guess what I did. I mean, you could look at me and tell.
Man, I went and bought that mean coat. I was gonna say, that brother came out of the all-white. He came out all white. I said, Oh, he got some money, boy. That coat, I didn't know coats cost that much.
I mean, that mean. You know, I wanted chinchilla, but that's a whole nother zero on the channel. Oh, yeah. Hold on, we'll wait on the chinchilla, but that mink, you know, that's a big deal.
So. Yeah, man. Shout out to the mink coats, man. Shout out to the mink coats. Yeah.
And I guess I got one more before you give your last one.
Well, in a perfect world, this is what you're doing, right? But let's just say you didn't get into wrestling, right?
So let's just say January 21st, 2026, that's today. If Trick Williams wasn't a main event superstar in WWE, what do you think you'd be doing with your life? Man, you know, that's a tough question. And I do think about it sometimes. Like.
Man, before before I was wrestlin'. I was actually substitute teaching kids. Yeah. I'm gonna say this. Every teacher out there deserves more money.
Yeah. Those kids made me go wrestle. And I ain't talking trash about the youth. I mean, the youth. You know what I mean?
But they know who they are. You know what I mean? It's probably them young kids You know, by the name of Javon Evans, you know, them young kids now, them six, seven kids, you know, you know. Boy, them kids, boy, I'm trying to tell you, man, it was a lot, man. Like, it takes a special type of person to be a teacher.
you know i mean to influence the future you know the future generations But um You know, that's what I was doing uh after I got cut by the Eagles, you know. Yeah. Bro, it was it was a crazy, you know, change up for me. But Yeah, man, I think about all the time, man. I love to talk, man.
Like, I might be doing some motivational speaking. You know what I mean? I might be. you know doing something like that. No.
I know somewh I'd be doing something where, you know what I mean. You know, making people feel. Feel something positive in their life, you know? Hey man, yeah. Take your job as serious as you do teaching.
And right now, you are teaching the world, the wrestling world, what it is to do things, trick-wheelie style. You always. Always. Got a home here at NCW, man. It's so good to talk to you.
Yeah, uh, yeah, I'm sure we're gonna see each other again down the road. It was one point we just kept running into you, right? Yeah, yeah, man. But, uh, man, much success to you. Uh, uh, send our love, lashes way, and uh, thank you for being a guest on the no contest wrestling podcast.
And let the missus know that she got a you know, she got a spot here too whenever uh she wants to. Oh, and my mama and my sister are big fans. She was real nice. She was nice to my sister at TNA, but my mama is a fan, bro. Hey, man, that's dope, man.
We got to get into the show. Yeah, man, I've been doing, I've been trying for years, but yeah, appreciate you, dog. Like, you, I mean, I think it goes without saying that you know, we're huge fans of yours, brother. And, like, Just, it's amazing. And that this new generation coming up with you and Javon and Oba, man, I'm excited.
I'm excited, dog. Black.
Sorry. Hey, man, it's a good time, you know, to be in the business.
So now we excited too, man. Go out there and make history. Let's go. Absolutely, man. February is coming.
Yes, sir. Good luck this weekend, my brother. You're super good, man. I appreciate y'all having me. Yes, sir.
Man, Trig Williams, what a guy, right, TJ? Damn. Um Yeah. That's a little movie magic for y'all. TJ's still not here, just like the Cowboys.
And the Clippers. And the Sixers. Pretty much any team that he likes. Can we vent for a second? Like, TJ, like, I love him, you know.
Oh, by the way, TJ, I love you. Damn. Cold Tony. Anyway. Yeah, the dude's from Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Hashtag BigTuna. And that's tuna with two. Two O's, by the way. Not like the fish. I found that out too.
Uh but yeah, the dude chose He's from Altoona, Pennsylvania. Chose the Cowboys. I can give you that. It's Cowboys. you know, iconic.
Chose the Cowboys. Chose the Clippers. Chose the Mets. Chose Mediocrity. Like, it it it just baffles me.
The dude is The embodiment. of the road less travel. Damn, damn, damn. But anyway, Y'all can't talk shit about my tag team partner because that's my tag team partner. But he not here, so I get to talk shit.
I hope you guys are Well, in tune to where to find us because I don't know that whole speech that he'd be saying, I usually tune out, hashtag BigTuner. And uh Yeah, make sure you have a good day. But not too good. 'Cause who the hell do you think you are? Bye, Miss Parker.
