Well, hey everybody, welcome to this Thursday edition of the Rich Eisen Show on Disney Plus, the ESPN app everywhere and ESPN Radio, presented by Progressive Insurance. We've got four guests. Two of them play football for a living: Jackson, Smith, and Jigba of the Seattle. Seahawks will be joining us in advance of his big game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Last time we saw him play football was a week ago tonight.

Taking care of the Arizona Cardinals. On Sunday, on Monday night football, to wrap up week number five, the Chiefs take on the Jaguars. Xavier Worthy of the Chiefs is going to join us. At the top of hour number two, we're going to talk a little bit of hoops since that's been back on our radar screen with all the NBA teams holding media sessions throughout the week. Chris Maddox of Sports Illustrated will be in studio for that.

And then in hour number three. Oh baby. Let's go. Charlie Sheen in studio. He's got a book, he's got a documentary, and he's got two segments with us as celebrity Charlie Sheen.

Or false also coming up with him in our number 3-844-204-Rich is the number to dial. I join you here today. Again, I'm 56 years old after watching game two of the Red Sox and the Yankees. I'm now 106 years old, and I think looking pretty damn good for it. Good to see you over there, Chris Brockman.

How are you?

Well, just doing the math, if you're 106, that would make me 95 after watching last night. You want to share with everybody the text that you sent me after the game last night?

So, yesterday, I'm being Father of the Year, me and Cage go to Davin Buster's right in the middle of, as I was picking him up. Uh story hit the homer to make it 3-3. And so we're driving there, listening to the game of the radio. Fast forward to the eighth inning. Cage is riding the motorcycles, and I'm peeking at the TV in the pool pool room over there.

And Story hits it, and I'm like, get out! And like the guy playing pool kind of jumped. Like I scared the bleep out of him.

Well, actually, it was a four-word text you sent me. Sweet, more stress tomorrow, is what you said. Yeah. And I feel the same exact way. It's playoff baseball, man.

Congrats to the Dodgers who have, what, three. We're all three people that they pay money to now, but also retire basically.

Well, they didn't all pitch. Yamamoto pitched, then Sasaki closed, who announced Otani's pitching next. That's how the Dodgers work. as they now are the only team any wild card round to win the first two to just chill out. There's three game threes going down today.

All of them can be heard on ESPN radio. All of them can be seen on the ESPN family of networks, the Yankees and the Red Sox that have been. First pitching, it's six o'clock. Eastern got moved thanks to the Dodgers wrapping things up to 8 Eastern.

So that's going straight up against Thursday night football. Hello, Mike Del Tufo. Good to see you. IO message for the Yankees. This is your wake-up call, pal.

Nice. Go to work. Look at Mike Del Tufo. All right. Prop our audio executive doing something visual for the radio audience.

Yes. Good to see you over there, TJ Jefferson. What's going on, sir?

Well, after seeing what happened to the Reds, I'm thinking. Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea that it wasn't. It's an evil idea. It's a high register Thursday. We've got our high registers later on.

Maybe it wasn't so bad that the Mets didn't turn. I'd like to be better than my actual high registers. That's coming up later on. Lots at stake tonight, guys. Lots at stake tonight.

And obviously, we've got three winner-go-home games in Major League Baseball, but the. fifth week of the National Football League season. kicks off tonight just down the road. The Rams against the I don't know how many times you could say shorthanded, undermanned, injured San Francisco 49ers this year. I guess this is the.

The fourth time we're saying it because they did have Brock Purdy and they did have George Kittle in the first week of the season. They did have Jawan Jennings. They did have Ricky Pearcell. They won't have those guys tonight. as it looks like Brock Purdy came back too soon.

I don't know, but he didn't look himself. The Jaguars. Knocked him around, and he's not being, he's not answering the bell with that toe injury. Uh for this short Week contest.

So it's Mac Jones again. It's 3-1 versus 3-1. Jackson Smith and Jigba is again going to be joining us in this first hour. His Seattle Seahawks are 3-1. 3-1.

So the loser of this game will be looking up at Seattle, who's which is welcoming Tampa at 3 and 1 into their house.

So, a lot of 3-1 teams in the mix right now in the NFC trying to stay close to the 4-0. Philadelphia Eagles. The three in one Lions. are in Cincinnati. This weekend.

So in the NFC, it all starts tonight. Can the Rams take advantage of a short week home contest against the San Francisco 49ers team that is banged up? It seems like every year, the Rams and the Niners, last year, remember that everyone was hurt. In this game, pretty much. Cooper Cup didn't make it, and Puka Nakua did make it back just in time.

It just seems to be every year. These two teams face each other on a Thursday night where they're not full strength, and this is another one. Uh and we'll see if the Niners can use smoke and mirrors and a lot. of Christian McCaffrey to get this thing done this evening. against a Rams offense that's been clicking.

And uh is a one As an organization, One block field goal away from being 4-0, being the only 4-0 team remaining in the NFC as opposed to being Philadelphia. and in terms of other things that are at stake. I've kind of broken it up into... Four categories. And um It's fascinating.

Week five now is the second quarter of an NFL season. Once we're through, I guess, halftime, I don't know how you divide up 17 into four. I was told there would be no math on the Rich Eisen show. But I've got four different categories. And the first one is obvious.

You don't want to be one in four. In the history of the National Football League. Super Bowl era playoffs. There have only been 15 teams that started one and four and made the playoffs. The last one being.

the Washington football team during COVID-2020. And there's that seven and nine. Uh finish. As you know, um one them the division. You remember that Giants, Eagles Sunday night game?

Where for suddenly the The Eagles wanted to see what they had in Nate Sudfeld and took Jalen Hurts out of the game. And Giants fans were like, What are you? You know, what are you doing? Yeah. And that get Doug Peterson fired.

Right. And. Doug Peterson did get fired. Jalen Hurts became the... Um became the uh The starting quarterback.

Um 7-9 won the division. The last team to start one, and I don't think 7-9 is going to win the division this year.

So the last. Team to go one and four and make a wild card spot. 10 and 6. 2018 Indianapolis Colts. You don't want to fall to 1-4, and the teams that could fall to 1-4.

with a loss this weekend. The Browns, the Raiders. The Giants, the Dolphins, the Panthers, the Texans, and the Ravens. And the Dolphins and the Panthers and the Texans and the Ravens play each other.

So, somebody, unless it's another tie, and then we'll start talking about changing the overtime rules again.

Somebody from those two games are going to finish one and four. The Giants to finish to start one and four are are going to have to go to New Orleans and become the first victim of the Saints this year. The Raiders are taking on the Cults, a very tall order there. with the Colts starting three and one and the Browns, as we all know, are starting Dylan Gabriel. Against the Minnesota Vikings, who, as I mentioned yesterday, started blitzing five minutes ago.

on this rookie quarterback starting For the Browns, and I mentioned it yesterday, it's the 41st different starting quarterback for Cleveland since they came back into being in 1999. That's 11 more than the next team. And the Bears at 30. And this will be the 13th rookie. of the 41 different starters.

that the Browns are kicking the tires on. 13 different rookie quarterbacks. That's the most in the NFL since 1999 as well.

So that's what everybody there is staring down. And Dylan Gabriel is also in the next category of quarterbacks that have something to prove. Both Ohio-based quarterbacks have something to prove. Jake Browning. Can we see the Jake Browning that took over for Burrow in 20?

23, who went four and three in his place. Can we see that guy? Because we haven't seen that guy at all yet. What we've seen is Jamar Chase being pissed off. and basically saying I'm not taking it into the next game.

I wasn't taking it out on anybody. Jake Brownie's got something to prove. Geno Smith. Has something to prove here that he's still. Has the trust.

of of his coach. Pete Cowell's like, yeah, we're not there. I'm not there. in terms of bringing in Kenny Pickett. Another multiple interception game for Geno Smith.

He goes into Indianapolis. Ashton Genty is running as well as he did the previous game. The defense is balling out on Daniel Jones just as it was doing. In the previous game against Caleb Williams, and he's turning it over. Will will Pete Stan.

Pat? Again? That's a big one. Bryce Young. is once again in the jackpot, it appears.

It's time. Last year finished great. It started poorly. Then Andy Dalton gave him a sabbatical that ended because Dalton got hurt. Then he looked great.

Now he's one and three, and last week against New England, he looked lost. As lost as he's ever looked. He's got something approved. Trevor Lawrence on Monday Night Football. Let's go, Trevor.

Let's go. The defense is balling out. Travis Etienne, who's a guest on Friday's show, balling out. You're going one V V one. versus Patrick Mahomes.

In front of the whole country, this would be a great moment to just show up like Clemson, Trevor Lawrence, like. Doug Peterson first year, Trevor Lawrence. I'll give you two more that fascinatingly enough, have something to prove. How about Jaden Daniels? I know I went to high register on you right there.

Didn't look all that great before he got hurt. He's coming out with a brace. Is it going to be too soon against the Chargers team that wants to wipe losing to Jackson Dart right out of their mouths? Jaden Daniels doesn't play with the brakes. I don't think ever.

But the doctors who are in charge, who have cleared him, have essentially said, you're putting on a brace. How's he gonna look? Does he really have something to prove? I kind of think it's just like, let's see the Jaden Daniels from 20. Yeah.

Because we haven't seen him for very much this year prior to him getting hurt.

Now we'll see what happens with a brace. Can he show up? And win this game for a commander's team. This difference between 2-3 and 3-2 in this division and in this conference that I just started this segment with a bunch of 3-in-1 teams, that's pretty big for them. out here in Los Angeles.

in week five. And then here's another one. 2-2, Kyler Murray. It started 2-0.

Now you're 0-2. And then he's saying things like this yesterday at the podium, talking about the new practice facility and the new. Cardinals digs that are coming in the 2028 season. His contract runs through 2028, and he had this to say about seeing the renderings about what's coming. for the Cardinals and their their uh their new Facilities.

Um What do you mean? What was my reaction? Yeah, it's beautiful. It's beautiful. Beautiful.

Yeah. Hope you know. But I d I don't know what's coming out, but uh Hope I'm here to see it. Hope I'm here to see it. Poof.

It's like what Who is that me? I hope I'm here to see it.

Okay. He's 8-22 in his career against division opponents. Maybe that's why he hoops. Yeah. That's potentially what's at stake.

I don't know. He just lost two in a row to division opponents again. Uh you know, one on the road, one at home. And now he's got Cam Ward. Kier who Could be he's in another category that I'm moving on to, which is quarterbacks' arrivals.

But he's also maybe got something to prove because he's taking on Kyler Murray. They're 0-4, the Tennessee Titans, and he's coming off of this soundbite. Um I wrote it down here. Um If we keep it a buck right now, we ask. Yeah, I heard that.

I mean, so that means keeping it real 100, right? A buck? Am I under the break? Come on, Rich, you know now, baby. Right now, if we keep it real, we ask.

Yeah. No, we don't need to sound bad. I think I did it justice. Can I translate that? He sounded like that.

Could I translate maybe for people? If we're going to be completely honest with the situation going on right now, of course. We as a team, we're not playing very good football. TJ Jefferson. Thank you, sir.

Now I get it.

Well done. Oh, time to arrive would be showing up in Arizona and doing this. And this is winning football. And three other quarterbacks can arrive. in a way.

is one He's going to start for the Baltimore Ravens. We've seen this before. Can he show up? like the Cowboys Cooper Rush. And start Nailing things down for the Baltimore Ravens.

You might hear about that. Jackson Dart, can he show up and win two in a row? For the Giants? And how about you want to talk about a rifle? Like a flat out arrival.

Like here I am. Here I am, although we already talked about his arrival as a terrific 2024 draft choice playing this year. How about Drake May showing up on Sunday night football? Going to Western New York with them wearing their new rival jerseys, all dressed in ice or whatever it is. The bills are dressed in all, whatever.

Yeah. They're icing up. On Sunday night, the Bills are the only undefeated team in the AFC. What if Drake May shows up and is like, I've got this. I'm going to surprise everybody.

by playing just like Josh Allen, just like I've played over the last few weeks. And the Patriots Upend the bills and maybe Many survivor pools from sea to shining sea. Ooh, rich eyes. That's what's at stake for that. And here's just a last category: marquee games.

Stefan Diggs revenge game. And what, okay. By the way, say what you will, that is something. Yeah. And no one may May played against him last year, and so did Diggs last year.

Remember the Texans. But there's a different story, I guess, as well. He's back again. May's balling. And that you could put that game on the marquee.

It is a Sunday night game. Didn't flex out of it, which I think they had an option to. But at any rate, long story short, how about the Eagles and the Broncos? The Eagles passing game front and center. We'll talk about that later.

A.J. Brown spoke. On Wednesday, we'll play that on this Thursday show. And then the Broncos bandwagon that has been full for the entire. Summer into, I guess, the beginning of this season, this would be a way for the bandwagon people to say, I knew I was on the right wagon.

If the Broncos come east and beat the Eagles and hand in their first loss of the season, the Monday night game I already discussed. If the Jaguars. can place their calling card on on the uh The league and say, We wrapped up week five by telling the Chiefs you haven't turned a corner yet. And then, of course, there's the Chiefs saying, Oh, we turned a corner all right. That's a big Monday night game in week five.

I also mentioned the Chargers and the Commanders. The Commanders, again, get there. Guy back. How does Jaden Daniels look with a brace? Can he start looking like 2024?

Let's get the offense cooking. And getting the defense after Justin Herbert in a way the Giants did. And then there's the Chargers basically saying we're going to take Charging. And that was last week was just an outlier. It was just a blip on the radar screen.

The Bucks and the Seahawks. Who wants a piece of the division lead, folks? Seattle? The Bucs are playing this game with Atlanta on a bye week. They lose two in a row and they lose to the Eagles and.

The Seahawks? Or do they go up to the Pacific Northwest and plant a flag as Baker Mayfield? Did something I may or may not remind Jackson, Smith, and Jigbo about. Uh-oh. Certainly, since Baker's got an Ohio State teammate of his as a teammate.

And then, lastly, there's the Lions. I understand. Lions, Bengals may not be on your marquee, but the Lions are on a marquee, and they could win four in a row and basically say to everybody. We are just coming for you, biting kneecaps, yada, yada, yada. And Jake Browning, you're next.

That's what's at stake. Texans, Ravens, you could put on the marquee because they were division winners last year. And then, once again, the loser goes to one and four. One and four. And it looks like the Ravens are in trouble because Lamar is not walking through that door.

He might be limping through it. And then we'll see what happens with the Ravens moving forward. And did the Texans last week against. Um A Titans team that was Um Is it just a Titans thing or is it a Texans thing? That's this.

That's set for week five in the NFL. Love it. Love it. Jackson Smith and Jigba. Let's bring him up.

You're going to be nice to him. Why wouldn't I be?

Well, I remember a previous interview, you told someone to tell Jackson that dad said hi. That was Garrett Wilson, I told that too. Yeah. Still, they're from the same family. Yes, they are.

And you poke them a little bit. I am a professional, sir. I might just, you know, sneak one in.

Okay. Jackson Smith the Jigba has been dominant at the receiver position for the Seattle Seahawks. He's next. This is the Rich Eisen show on a Thursday. The Rich Eisen Show Podcast.

supporting you every step of the way. Progressive. Yeah, yeah. Let's go ahead and move on to our first guest of the day. He has been crushing it for the 3-1 Seattle Seahawks, the number one receiver in that offense, that is for sure.

Ladies and gentlemen, back here on the Rich Islands show, Jackson, Smith, and Jigba. How are you, sir? Thank you, man. Doing great. Thanks for having me on.

Thank you for joining here. Let me just jump straight into it. When DK Metcalf was traded away and it was obvious that you were now the the number one, the guy. Um Were you surprised? How did that hit you?

When you found out that to me. To me, in my mindset, it wasn't too obvious, honestly. I knew that I had to go in and work and and um compete in Because everything's about competition here. Nothing is given.

So I knew I had to put the work in and be ready for an opportunity to come in and do my thing when I got here. But I'll be honest with you then. What I thought when I heard that DK was sent away to Pittsburgh or given the exit visas he was looking for. I thought they must really believe in Jackson, Smith, and Jigbo. They really must feel that he's ready to be the one and the man.

In the NFL. That's what I thought. Yeah. And that never really occurred to you? At all.

Yeah, I mean it did. I knew that uh You know, Mike and everyone else up there, you know, had high expectations for me. Kind of knew the work that I was going to put in. But just from a mindset standpoint, everything this league is a business at the end of the day.

So me showing up and making sure proving myself right and my teammates and the rest of the staff right was a big deal for me.

So really I was just laser focused on that.

Well, in terms of this being a business, you don't have to look too far in the. Wide receiver room to look at Cooper Cup and know that too, the fact that he's there. After all those years with the Rams, what has he brought to the equation for you? Jackson? Man, he's brought, you know, so much.

He's brought so much. you know his mindset and just talking balls you know is it's It went on to the next level.

So it's awesome to have him in my corner. to know that he has my back, I have his back, you know, on anything. And that's a good person to have your back, a triple crown winner. The list goes on and on and on.

So it's a privilege to line up next to him. And I just try to soak in, you know, all the information and all the good stuff, you know, that he gives out. Yeah, I mean, in terms of talking ball with him. Um he's kind of one of one, right? I mean Just knowing everything about a play call and what goes into it, and where he is, and what his footwork can do to help him get open, and what your job is in the same.

Play call and knowing all that, and his recall of the one time that they did run it back in the day. Am I right? Like talking that is unbelievable. Yeah, you're spot one. You're spot on.

Just knowing what every guy, you know, has to do, you know, for the career. For the play to pop open, you know, from the offensive line to all of the looks. You know, he's really like another Sam Darnold out there, another quarterback, another coach, you know, so to speak. And also, like you said, on his routes, just knowing how to get open, knowing what he's selling, and how the defense is going to. Take that information and him just execute.

And it's honestly, you know, next level, you know, with his mindset and how he plays ball. Like I said, you know, it's a great opportunity for me to raise my game and what you guys see.

Well, it's so difficult sometimes for offenses to click early. Certainly in this day and age, we talk about. Preseason action being one game fewer, and it sometimes takes longer for the offense to get up. And running to the way that it's supposed to be compared to the defensive side of the ball. And yet you guys seem to be.

Clicking. Certainly with a new quarterback. new coordinators.

So much is new. How have you been able to do that so far? I tell you this, it's a hell of a defense we have to go up against, you know, every single day and in the spring. We just got better, man. A lot of reps.

You know, credit to Coach Kubiak. Really, I feel like simplifying the offense and just trusting us to turn the plays. into life, you know, and um It's been it's been great. You know, Sam's just been really on top of it and Has just been next level, honestly. And it's a privilege also to play with him.

And the more reps we get, We're gonna continue to get better. And I think it started all the way back in spring, had a great summer, and now And now it it's awesome to go out on Sundays and ball out. I haven't read about it if it's already been written, but was there an off site for you and Sam and the rest of the receiver room? What was that about? What happened?

Yeah, well, I mean uh as soon as we got some I honestly hit him up like hey like You know, what's it going to look like in the summertime?

So as soon as we got a little break, we made sure to keep working just to clean up some things and just to feel good going into camp. And so, you know, all the guys went out to LA and got some work in. And it was a great time just to bond outside the field and to get some work in. Jackson, Smith, and Jigba here on the Rich Eyes and Show, and let's talk about you. You started the season with at least 75 receiving yards in every single game.

And The only receivers to have a longer such streak in Seahawks history are named DK Metcalf. and Steve Largent. You're putting yourself in a really good neighborhood so far. to start this thing off. To what do you owe this, JSN?

Like, walk me through your mindset, your process. that uh fans might be curious to know about. For you. Yeah, I mean honestly, you know, I try to simplify, you know. What I do.

Is get open, catch the ball. And get some yak. You know, honestly, you know, my job to me is not that hard when you have. You know, guys like, like we said, Cooper Cup, Sam Darnold, the offensive line balling out. Defenses having to respect the run game, you know, first and foremost.

So, you know, that creates opportunity and. You know, when the ball's my way, you know, just catch it, make plays, man. Have fun. You know, get to, we put the process in. You know, I put the process in, we put the work in, and, you know, I can just cut it loose on Sundays.

So that just feels awesome. And, you know, The team having to respect every single player out there, you know, opens it up a little bit for me.

So I just appreciate my guys. I appreciate where this offense is going. And I just want to continue to take it to the next level. What are you, what is your personal goals? Do you have them written down somewhere?

Anything like that? Uh, I do. I do. I got some personal goals. I feel like you asked me this before.

Oh, I know. I hate to put I hate to really put it out there, you know, they're very personal, but we got a long ways to go. You can say that. And um You know, for me, just a deep playoff run, a ring on my finger, you know, that's the ultimate goal. Um Everything else besides that is, you know.

Whatever. A few minutes left with Jackson Smith and Jigba here on The Rich Eisen Show on your mini-buy. Did you take any college football? This last week. Oh, you know, I did.

You know, I did. I'm sure you did. You know, I did, Rich. Perfect timing. The Buckeyes came down to Seattle.

I don't know if you're watching the game. Oh, I was. I had a rooting interest. I had a really interesting. We had a good weekend.

We had a fun weekend. We watched the podcast do their thing. How good is Jeremiah Smith? How good is Jeremiah Smith? How good is he?

Jeremiah Smith is, you know, really s you know, something I would I really never really seen before, honestly, on the field at that statue. that stature. Um As a receiver, man, a person that can create indeed at all three levels and just a competitor, you know, the competitive spirit. You can you can just see it You can just see it when he's out there and his whole team, you know, just me being on the sideline and his whole team just, you know. you know, coming to him and, you know, saying, you know, for like let's roll.

And, you know, just to have bring everybody's confidence on the team, you know, is really just next level and just shows, you know, what type of person and player he is.

So I'm excited to see, you know, you know, the records that he breaks and, you know, the more rings that he chases at Ohio State. Yeah, that fourth down play call where it was essentially a one man route where he's crossing and everybody else is just blocking downfield. And all you have to do is just connect with them. It was sort of an easy pitch and catch for saying, right? And he just runs it in, touchdown, breaks the game open in that respect.

I'm wondering, again, that's the simple stuff, if you will. It's well schemed, well coached, well-timed, that whole. that whole business. But all I hear is he is unlike Um Everybody who's come out of there, and you've come out of there. I know Marvin Harrison had a nice catch.

against you um and he looked relieved You know, McLaurin, the list goes on and on. Yeah. Is he really better than all of you? I'll just throw it your way. JSN.

Is he back? Yeah, I think his. Yeah, I mean, I think his ceiling is. you know further than you know I would say a lot of us I would say definitely myself Just being 6'4, running 4'3, his routes, you know, top of his routes. I believe that he has it all.

And so he's a special. He's a star. He's going to be a superstar. And I can't wait, you know, until he gets to the league and balls out at the highest level. But Yeah, man, his ceiling is far greater than a lot that I've seen.

Yeah, I think you know what he looks best at standing around while you try to run it in the middle of the Michigan defensive line. That's where I think he looks best. If you don't mind making my two cents there, you know what I mean? Go ahead, Ray. No, no, no, no.

No, no, I'm trying to be professional. I just dropped down a bad level. Because you are seeing, and again, all due respect, I know you're very happy with Tori Horton as a teammate. But I believe an offensive rookie of the year candidate, if I'm not mistaken. Um right now in pole position is a buka.

Coming to town. And what he's been able to do has been something special for Baker Mayfield. And I'm sure that's something you saw coming as well. Right, Jackson? No, 1000%.

Yeah, Mech is, he's been a pro. He's been a pro since his freshman year. And just to see him, you know, at this level now, balling out is awesome to see, you know, a brother of mine. And him and Baker, you can see that relationship building. I'm sure they put a lot of work in this offseason.

So hopefully we can slow them down this weekend though. And I know it's going to be a good challenge. You know, I'm looking forward to it. Yeah. It's really weird if you think about it.

Jackson, Smith, and Jigba that His quarterback, who he I'm sure loves and is depending on, and he's there for him, is a guy who once planted the flag. in the middle of The horseshoe, I mean, isn't that amazing? Strange bedfellows. Like, again, you're 3-1, and your head coach came from Michigan. you know, bring in his excellence from that.

Isn't that interesting? I'm glad auto works. Yeah, I'm glad that you brought that up. You know, I think they. I'm going to text Mech and make sure they have a conversation about that, you know.

Or I'll talk to Mech after the game and.

Well before I'll talk to him before, make sure they have a conversation, try to brew some stuff between them and beat out here in Seattle. You should send him a YouTube video of the moment in case he's unaware of Baker's history. And yours. That's why I like you, Rich. That's why I like you.

I just try to make you better. You know what I mean? I'm like the Sam Darnold of this situation, is what I'm saying. Listen, it's great to see you balling out, and it's always great to chat with you. And I do look forward to seeing more from you and your team.

And the arrow's pointing up, and I'm excited for you and all the 12s. Always, Rich, thank you again. I appreciate it. Right back at you. That's Jackson, Smith, and Jigba of the Seattle Seahawks right here on the Rich Eisen Show.

Rockin' with that looks like some old school gear, right? Oh, this is going to be a uniform off in this game. Oh, is it really? This is one. Yeah, this could be one of the greatest uniform games ever.

I just love the old school ones. Yeah. Obviously, the throwback ones I love. I love when the Broncos wear the ones with the horse and the D on the side of the helmet. The Dolphins wearing, you know, their, what was that?

That was the rivalry uniform? No. No, no, no. Give me the old school Merino. Yeah, right.

You know. Let's go. These Seahawks ones are one of the best ones ever. The Seahawks that they're going to wear in this game. All right.

And the helmets are going to be. I will reserve judgment. Is it old school? It's the new school. It's old school.

It's old school. Let's do it. I love it. Speaking of old school in Seattle. Then we'll throw it a break here.

Did you see the Mariners scrimmaged? Um yesterday. And they opened up the stadium for folks to come watch 10 bucks. General admission. Come in, sit wherever you want.

Whoa, I did not know that. Yes, they scrimmaged because they got to stay sharp here. I think the brewers scrimmaged as well. While everybody's staying sharp on their P's and Q's and obviously blowing their bullpen, but. They they got a You know, like A bye week.

Kind of might not be great for you if you don't do anything.

So they scrimmage. Did you see who was in right field? For one of the teams in scrimmage. His name was Ichiro Suzuki. Is it too late for him to join the playoff roster?

Chichiro was in a Mariner's uniform in right field for one of the sides in the scrimmage.

Now that's what we're talking about. That's awesome. It was great. Pretty cool stuff, man. Seattle's feeling it.

Right now, mariners are waiting. on the winners of the Guardians and the Tigers. And um The Seahawks are three and one.

Okay. Not too shabby up there in the Pacific North. He made a play in the outfield. He caught a fly ball. He could still play.

He's Ichro Suzuki. He did not hit, apparently, according to the Richmond. 844-204-Rich Noter Tow. We'll talk a little bit of baseball, take your phone calls, get you set. For hour number two, Xavier Worthy of the Chiefs, Chris Mannix, the Talk NBA, and Charlie Sheen.

Sonos, they look. as good as they sound. 844-204-RICH is the number to dial here on the program. A.J. Brown spoke yesterday.

He spoke. after tweeting out a Bible verse. Mark 611. Yes. If you are not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw.

Don't make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way. And I guess if Twitter was around... Back in the day. Um I guess You should hit send.

Because he did. Which makes a scene. Yeah. I guess he knew that when he hit send on it. He said he would take responsibility for it.

And it was, you know, you knew everyone would be around his locker saying, what's up?

So they did, and this was his answer. High speed. That's it. Sunday after the game. I let my frustrations boil over.

I didn't speak to the media. I had a chance to correct my frustrations and I continue to let everybody lover. That's on me, you know, I take full accountability on that. Of course, my mission, my tutor wasn't directed to anyone in the building. I'm a coaches, I'm a protograph.

I'm a GM, nobody. Like I said, I take full accountability. Hold on. I have an open communication with all my coaches and with my quarterback as well. Me and my coaches, KP, Nick, we discuss weekly about trying to get this thing on the same page.

I think it's normal to have frustrations because of the standard that we hold ourselves to, you know, and we have a lot of talent on our offense. And to be honest, you know, defense Oh. Defense and special teammates have been low-key carrying us, you know, and it's just like. We need to clean up what we need to clean up and get on the same page and place it a bit that we say that. We can and be who we are, call to be.

So it's a standard that we preach. And so, uh, So it's yeah, so it was easy. To have that frustration, I think it's fair to have that frustration. But like I said, I understand that more local f ⁇ . 100% fair to have that frustration.

I agree with that. Fewest yards in a game with six or more targets in a career. Just two catches for seven yards on nine targets. He now is under 30 receiving yards in three of his first four games of this year. Six catches, 109 receiving yards, and a score in week three, and that was all in the second half.

against the Rams.

So basically, he's been running around, running his routes for three and a half games and not getting the football. And when he does. It's for hardly a lick. And I'd be frustrated too. Eight receptions, 42 yards in the seven halves of football in 2025, other than that second half against the Rams.

The passing game. For the Eagles, just 138 yards. Per game over the first four games, it's the second fewest in the NFL behind only the Tennessee Titans, who, as we mentioned in the first segment of the show, had corner their quarterback right now, they asked. Just paraphrase, don't come at me, please.

So Totally understand for frustration. It makes no sense. Was it Jason Kelsey on the... I'm sorry if I'm I'm mis um ascribing it here. But I think Jason said on his pod, on the New Heights pod, that Nobody.

on the team. Would be happy with this. Meaning, the defense wants him to get the ball. The running back room wants A.J. Brown.

Everyone wants A.J. Brown to get the ball. No one should be happy about it or would be happy about it.

So it totally makes sense. The issue is tweeting it out. You know, we always go back to um We always go back to pop culture here. Yeah, we like it. We do, Mike.

Certainly, a particular movie that we have drops for. And um There's a famous moment. In The Godfather, where the Don... Slaps Sonny around and says, Never let anybody outside the family know what you're thinking again. And Because it gets the family hurt.

Spoiler alert, it did. Uh-oh. And, but the reason why I bring this up. I don't think Sean Payton needs to see a Bible verse tweeted out and then a. Local media kerfuffle.

To know That this is a sore point for the Eagles. But he sure does now. And if I'm him. I'm going up to Sertan. I'm going up to the entire defensive secondary and saying.

This game's on you. Because if we keep A.J. Brown from the football. And you get in his head. You get in his skull.

We've got this thing. We've got it. Because the fans, that's the way the fans are going to start getting restless. That's the way A.J. Brown's going to maybe start reaching for a book.

Yeah. Uh you know The good book or otherwise? You know what I mean? If he just goes happy, go lucky and doesn't say anything. You know, as quarterbacks, not.

I mean, just we would play the Jalen Hurts sound bites on this subject matter, but they were all typical Jalen Hurts of just saying, you know, just got to keep. I think at one point he said, we just got to keep the main thing, the main thing. He is the king of saying nothing. Which, by the way, is great for a Philadelphia quarterback. Yes.

Great. That's what you want. You want him to do that. He's intense. He's a winner.

He won't let you know what he's thinking ever. Ever. And he will give platitudes and he will give statements like we just got to keep the main thing, the main thing. You know, I understand what's going on. Just saying again.

You keep it in-house is the one thing. I don't blame him though. Receivers are always mouths that need to be fed, and when they're not, The mouths are going to chirp a little bit. And he's not chirping on the sideline and he's not chirping to the media afterwards, but he's hit and send on something that causes. everybody to come around his locker.

The ball's going to find him at some point. He's too damn good, and they know it. But the Broncos are equipped to come into that house. and keep the main thing still the main thing in the media. Progressive Insurance brings you ESPN radio.
