As you know, one mistake can change the outcome of an entire game. That's the same thing about your life and making sure you get the proper sleep. So you get done in your day exactly what you want because you're focused and you have everything in order. And the people who can help you do that are our friends at Sleep Number. Their mission is to provide the players of the NFL and you with data and insights to optimize your sleep for the ultimate competitive edge.

Don't just take my word for it. How about 95% of the Los Angeles Rams? They've got a sleep number bed. 80% of the Kansas City Chiefs, they have a sleep number bed. 90% of the Vikings have a sleep number bed. You should have a sleep number bed. My sleep number setting is 60. My wife's is 70, just 10 numbers apart, but it means the world of difference because we can adjust our side of the bed to the exact firmness that we want and allows for working out or recovery. It's game changing. So if you're in the market for a new bed, you should stop at a Sleep Number store right now.

Live from the Rich Eisen Show studio in Los Angeles. Somebody else hits a home run. It's not the same noise as when Otani does the Rich Eisen Show. Is he a Hall of Famer right now?

If he doesn't play another game. Today's guest, Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord, Packers quarterback Jordan Love, former MLB commissioner Bud Seelig, Alabama linebacker Jia Campbell, and now it's Rich Eisen. That's right. Welcome to this edition of The Rich Eisen Show. We're all over the map to two draft prospects and Bud Seelig and Jordan Love.

I mean, we're really all over the map here on this day. 844204 Rich is the number to dial right here on the Roku Sports Channel, right here on the Infinity Sports Network, Sirius XM, Odyssey and more. Again, just give us a call at 844204 Rich being the number to dial right here on the show. If you're not aware, everything I say here on this program over the next three hours is my second take. And, you know, normally you are my first take. But just being very honest with you, I gave my first take on a couple of subject matters to Steve Smith and ESPN earlier. Interesting. Part of the crossover, even the NFL Network and the ESPN cruise crossover, sort of like back in the day, didn't Saved by the Bell crossover and a very special edition with somebody or you're the Zack Morris of this operation.

I appreciate you saying that. Well, after what Paul Heyman said. Yeah, that's second day in a row. Second day in a row, that guy's name has been mentioned.

I mean, Paul Heyman. But at any rate, NFL Network and ESPN and the family of networks on Walt Disney Company are bringing you the draft one week from tonight. Obviously, with all due respect to my friends at ESPN and ABC, watch NFL Network. I mean, is that wrong to say? Keep the lights on. I'm the one that's I'm the one sitting there. I'm watching you for sure.

This is an MP. You know what I mean? I mean, I know you're the reason I get all my Jordans. I appreciate you saying that. At any rate, we crossed over. I was on first take today.

But you didn't cross streams because as we know, that's bad. Oh, that's terrible for you. That's a Ghostbusters reference for all the children out there. And I mean, children who don't remember Ghostbusters. They weren't born yet or adults who thought that was a p joke. That's where I went. See what I mean?

Like, that's that's where he went with that. You know what I mean? So me, child adult. Thank you. I appreciate that. Yes.

Or adult man, child, child, man. How are you, Chris? Good to see you. Hey, what's up, man?

Before Bud Sealing joins us. OK, man, Alan J. Felly is laughing. Good to see you, J. Where's Mike? I don't know.

OK, I feel like this is what you do all the time. You're here. Mike's not. I say, where is he? Three days in a row. I know some sort of must be all tuckered out.

So tired of everything ready. How are you, TJ Jefferson? What's going on, sir? I'm basking in Paul Heyman. Yeah, it was fun. You you know, you hate it when I do this, but like you on the mike asking questions is just amazing.

That was one of my favorite interviews that you've done. I appreciate saying that. Do you want to hug it out? No, I'm good. OK, good. I'm just trying to give you props.

You don't get it weird, you know. Thank you. That was awesome. That was so call me to tell me how awesome everybody. Hey, you're a great when you pulled that out. You're great about it.

Please tell me how great I am. See, I knew he'd make it weird. I tried to give him props. Actually, I just read that was a hilarious interview. Remember when you asked him about so let me expand on my first take.

Yeah, how about that? This is not really a second take. I'm just expanding on my first take because I've given you this take multiple times on this program.

I just had it brought up to me by Stephen A. and Molly Keiram earlier on this day. Hi, Molly. Stop it.

You think she's watching? Stop it. Stop it. Just stop it. Just stop.

You said cross promote. Stop it. I didn't say no take. No chance. That's not the show is going to call no chance. No game. OK, wow. Last name, you know how long I've been waiting for this. Let me get to my dog with five minutes in. I haven't even started talking.

You morons because I've mentioned on this program before that. Listen, you got a guy in the draft that we've never seen in the draft before. And how many times we say that about a quarterback and you got to go get him. But nobody's describing that Cameron Ward with all due respect to Cameron as he's being referred to by the National Football League. And Travis Conner is sitting there.

Travis Hunter is sitting there. And the Cleveland Browns are sitting second on the clock. And, you know, everybody's saying he's going there and. I don't blame the Browns for saying we'll take them if, you know, the Titans are going to take Cam Ward. I don't see anybody but Travis Hunter going to the Cleveland Browns because the Titans are taking the quarterback that they they feel they need. And is worthy of the first overall pick.

And Cam Ward may have a stupendous career and bring a trophy to Nashville, by the way. I think we'd all take off for that Super Bowl parade, even though we have no skin in that game, just to go to lower Broadway to watch a Super Bowl parade. How sick will that be? If it was anything like the draft. Oh, my God. I think it would be. Yeah.

Oh, my God. So and I hope for his sake and the Titans that that does happen because they're passing up on the most one of one talent I've seen come out of college football. And that's Travis Hunter.

Andrew Berry, the general manager of the Cleveland Browns, was asked about Travis Hunter, and he invoked a name that we have invoked in his regard on this program. He has to play on both sides to be worth that number two pick because that's kind of how he's viewed as the guy that can do both versus just one side or the other. No, I don't I don't see it that way.

I think it's going to use a crossboard now. It's a little bit like Otani, right, where when he's playing one side, he's he's an outstanding player. If he's if he's a pitcher, he's a hitter, he's an outstanding player. You obviously get a point if you use them both ways. Andrew, what do you think of Travis Hunter's comments this week about not playing football, if you can't play both sides of the ball? How does that affect your strength? It really doesn't. Really doesn't. It shouldn't.

Yeah, it really doesn't affect the strategy. Because kids are saying, you know, it's not worth playing football if I don't do it. And I, I don't think he's threatening anybody.

He's just basically saying, as we said yesterday, if you don't play me in both positions while I'm this age, you're the moron. And I know that's a very difficult word for me to keep throwing around. But you do.

Oh, I do. That's two days in a row. It is.

By the way, there's Friday's show. I don't think my opinion is going to change. Even on my third take. And here's why. Tell us.

Because you get. The best player available in this year's draft. A two position. Cam Ward may be the best player at his position in the draft, right? Ashton D is the best player at his position in this draft, correct?

That's what they say. You can have a conversation about Will Campbell and Armand Membo being the best players at their positions. Tyler Warren is the best player at his position. Abdul Carter is the best player at his position.

Although Jihad Campbell, who's on this show in hour number three, Mike Mayock says he's got a higher grade on him than Abdul Carter. Right at that position. So there's there's there's arguments to be made. But you got a guy who's the best player at his position in this draft at two positions and very important ones at that. Maybe not the most important one, you can get a terrific receiver in the draft in the second round. I hear that a lot. You get a great corner in this draft later in the first round. I've heard that before. Case in point, Tennessee Titans, let's just say they wake up Thursday morning next week and Green Bang go, wait a minute, what have we been thinking? This entire time, what have we been thinking? We're going to go with Travis Hunter instead.

That means put up on the screen. Calvin Ridley and Travis Hunter. Are paired together, as is Travis Hunter and the Jerry Snead. How does that hit you?

Very nice. Now, Cam Ward can make Calvin Ridley better and yes, he can make the Jerry Snead better because he finds Calvin Ridley. And Snead's now playing with a lead because Cam Ward can make Tony Pollard better and Taji Spears better, not to sound like Cam Ward playing Fortnite, but you know, you know the rock. Let's say Andrew Berry is so fortunate to draft Travis Hunter put up on the screen. Now he's paired with Jerry Judy and he's paired with Denzel Ward.

OK, that's not bad, right? OK, especially him and Denzel Ward back there. Now, Abdul Carter, you choose him. He could make Miles Garrett better, obviously, and Miles would make Abdul Carter better and he can make Denzel Ward better because Denzel Ward doesn't have to defend this very long because the guy with the ball has got his ass on the ground. Imagine Miles getting better? Yes. No, I can't imagine that. Let's just say the New York football Giants watch Abdul Carter go second overall and they get a chance to get Travis Hunter put on the screen, Travis Hunter makes a powerful tandem at the wide receiver spot.

With the league neighbors, right? How do you like that one? I mean, as a Cowboys fan, I do not like that, but it's a football fan.

I love it. And that's one of the best receivers. We put Paulson Adabo up on the screen as the new pairing at the cornerback spot, but we could have put Brian Burns up there, we could have put cable up there, we could have put Dexter Jackson up there, right? Right. Because you don't make all their jobs, that's right. We could have put Brian Daball up there.

It also makes sense, right? Russell Wilson, we could put up there. Jamis Winston. And the crab Chris, I'm going to do you a solid don't do it, Rich. What if? Oh, come on. Come on, don't eat every hope on your chest.

Comes true and I don't know how this happens. Travis Hunter falls to four. Come on, it's the fun digs and Travis Hunter. Christian Gonzalez, Travis, my best corner duo in the league right there. Well, you know, Christian, you plays he's kind of everywhere and he he's dog. OK, he's all pro last year.

Let's go. Let's not forget again, everybody just considers this guy a great corner, right? No best receiver in the draft. Been told he'd be the he's the number one receiver in this draft.

I'm just going to do a solid to all my friends back home. The Jets are sitting seven. Now I've got trade charts up here and whenever I'm sure they'd have to move up, they would have to move up and the number two overall spot, the Cleveland Browns on the trade chart, these these trade charts are all where is associated with the number of points. And you've got to put together enough picks using the point system in order to get Andrew Berry to even bite on answering your phone call. So the Jets sitting at seventh, overall, their pick is worth fifteen hundred points. The Cleveland Browns pick is worth twenty six hundred points. They'd have to use their first round pick and, you know, I mean, a lot more. They don't have a second round choice. Thanks to how great everything worked out with Green Bay friends.

OK. That said, just put it up on the screen, just figure it out, Jets. You got him, Tim, you got I mean, the two rookies of the year from a couple of years ago. Sauce and Gary Wilson have Travis Hunter, come on. You see where I'm picking up with the stuff and let me just drive the point home that I drove home on first take today, which technically was my second take on this because I've said it here on this show, I treated this show like it was a first take, you know, and though we don't have a topic bar or a split screen or I don't know, I got to talk to Orlovsky when I see him next time. Every single time he's on first take, the look that he has while he's listening to the arguments, it's just like, what?

And this and the split and those screen grabs don't do him any favors. You know, anyway, I said it, say it again, it would take a ton of draft capital for this to happen. Again, the point total associated with the Browns selection is twenty six hundred points, the twelfth overall pick belonging to Dallas is twelve hundred points that have to make up fourteen hundred points. Their second round draft choice is worth four hundred eighty points. They're not, they're halfway home by giving up their first and second for this. They'd have to dip into next year's draft to make up the difference. But if you're like Dallas Cowboys do this, they give up their first and second round draft choice to do this. Well, let's just say at twelve they get the best corner remaining on the board and in the second round they go ahead and they get the best wide receiver still available on the board. Are you picking up what I'm putting down?

This guy is both. And it's marvelous and you pair him with CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs and you bring this star power and spotlight to Dallas. Oh, now this used to be. What the Dallas Cowboys were all about. Let's get the biggest stars, let's make the biggest splash, let's have everyone talk about us, and as I told Stephen A. today, because his response was, I don't want that.

Did you hear what his response was? I don't want this to happen to him because I like him a lot and I want to win. And he's not going to win in Dallas. And my response to Stephen A. was, yeah, but think what I'm saying is you would win Stephen A., you would win.

Just think about the number of segments. You would be talking about the Dallas Cowboys. The content. Oh, my God. He's a closet fan of us anyway.

So, yeah, he would love it. Rich, why are you doing that to me, though? Because it's the truth. It's a fact. It's a fact that this is what you get if you draft this kid in this year's draft.

C.D. and Liggs and Diggs and Daron Bland. Oh, my God.

Oh, yeah. And don't forget Micah up front. Micah and Dion back in the fold in some peripheral way. Schottenheimer coach of the year.

Or Dion's lording over Schottenheimer, which, as you know, is in the world of the spell my name right, it's also my favorite squirrel. There is less pie, Jerry Jones world thing. This is what matters.

There is less pad. So. Can you tell I'm high on Travis Hunter?

Yeah, a little bit. We'll talk about it. The Cleveland Browns might be in the quarterback market anyway, and if they take Travis Hunter, there's still a ton of draft capital left. Get your franchise quarterback or face of the future.

And one of those guys is waiting on. Are you ready for bringing in this Syracuse orange? I'm excited. You loved watching him play, man. It was the most fun I've had watching Cuse football in 20 years. He is Kyle McCorden.

He's already gone from Syracuse, so hooking you up with him won't be a mush. That's coming up next here on the Rich Austin show. Back here on the Rich Eisen Show, two minutes, the radio audience in return. That's when we'll welcome Kyle McCord into this program. And so what was the name of your previous coach? Dino Babers.

OK, Dino. And they had a terrific football season. Yeah, he was there. And then they were ranked. And then I went out of my way to try and surprise you on your birthday.

It's very nice to have somebody that you respected and really made you happy, call in to wish a happy birthday. Yep. And Coach Babers did that. Yep. And then what happened to Coach Babers? Oh, man, we were terrible the next year and then the year after and then he was fired. OK. Yeah.

So if anybody looks back on that, Aaron says, what happened? He's probably asking a lot of questions. Right. Yeah. Yeah.

We could pinpoint it to you. I mean, that's a pretty gross, you know, characterization. But, you know, I mean, it's fine. Well, what happened to game seven that you were at in Boston Garden back in the day? What happened there? I mean, come on.

Really? We were here's what happened. Here's what happened. A rookie, Jason Tatum, posterized LeBron James.

We were up four minutes ago and then Terry Rozier forgot how to shoot. OK, I don't think that's my fault. I'm just saying there is a history on this program. And having Kyle McCord in after he's been in Syracuse, yes, or he's not coming back, right? I just want to get this all out there because I don't want this to have any sort of splash back on what is happening there right now, which clearly is we're on the trending. We're trending up.

It's not just you. It's my brother in law went there. Yeah. And like everyone, everyone, you know, Jack went there. Sam is going there now. Mike Torrico.

Andrew, I mean, Andrew Siciliano, Kostas, Scott Hansen, I mean, Bob Costas. We can go on and on. Yeah.

Who do you mellow? It's a lot of people I care about. Right. Same. Just want it all out there. Thanks. You're welcome. I screwed that up.

It's not very tough. Back on the Rich Eisen Show radio network. I'm sitting at the Rich Eisen Show desk furnished by Grange with supplies and distribution for every industry. Granger has the right product for you.

Kyle McCord here on the Rich Eisen Show. Let's go. How are you? Yes, sir. You're well, traveling.

You grew up in the shadow of NFL films, Kyle. So is that where you're from? Five minutes down the road. Did you ever run into the Sables at the supermarket ever happened?

I did it. No, no. You ever visit? Have you ever been to Mount Laurel?

I got like a tour of the city when I was younger. Yeah, that's about it. Yeah, that's about it. Now, you know, let's get you to the next level. Let's get those tight spirals zooming in with the music. Right.

And miked up for sound and and just going ahead and crushing it. So let me talk about your journey so far. What what is happening in your skull one week before the draft right now? Yeah, I mean, it's been a crazy few months going through the whole process, but at this point it's kind of slowed down a little bit.

No more Zooms, no more visits. It's kind of, you know, just waiting now. But I feel like I did everything I needed to in the process.

And there's no regret wishing that I wish I could have changed something. So I'm excited. I'm excited to see what happens a week from now. OK, where where are you right now? Where have I found you on this Thursday? I'm in Syracuse right now.

You're in Syracuse. OK, is it let me let me ask, is it true you were back in your home state winging it around for a certain team that that resides in the NFC East that wears blue on Tuesday where you were there? And that that is true. OK, we can confirm that. So was it just you?

Do they have a whole bunch of people? Was it just a Giants-Kyle McCord summit? Is that what it was? Yeah. I think there might have been two other players there, a different position. But, you know, I spent most of the day with the staff, which is good.

OK, so was Dayball there as well? Yeah, yeah. OK, so what what vibe did you get? What was that?

What can you share with me about that? Yeah, no, they definitely put me to the test. You know, they they they want to know how well you process things and, you know, how quickly can you pick up information? And so with all the teams, they definitely were, you know, the one that tested me the most, but it was good. It was a lot of fun. And, you know, they're they're great dudes with a great record of developing young quarterbacks as well. So that would be a great spot to end up behind, you know, two veterans as well.

So that was kind of like your last intense test before the draft. Yeah. That's what you're saying. Who else have you met with in person like that similar situation? Yeah, the Steelers, the Saints as well.

The Jets, you know, that's probably the handful of teams. But, you know, you know, just like I do, as much as you think you have an idea of who likes you and where you might end up, you really have no idea until you get that call. So, you know, it's fun to speculate a little bit about where you might end up.

But it's it's, you know, at this point, who knows? What's the through line on the questions you get asked? What's the most common one that you've been hit about, about your journey, your career, your your style, anything?

Really just about the transition from Ohio State to Syracuse and the jump I took going from one school to the other and kind of the similarities and differences between the offense and stuff like that. So I've been asked that question probably 50 times now. So you got that the answer pretty much memorized. But that's probably the most common, common question that comes up. All right. So what's the answer you give?

What answer do you give to that question? I mean, I tell them I knew I'd make a big jump from year one to year two as a starter, regardless of where I was, whether that was Ohio State for another year or somewhere else. And then I think that playing at Ohio State prepared me for anything that I'm going to see down the line. I think that's the closest thing you can get to being on an NFL team without actually being in the NFL surrounded by talent and the expectation from, you know, the fans and the coaching staff and everything that goes into it.

I mean, it gets you ready for the NFL. And, you know, back and was brutally honest with myself and really watch the tape and got better from it and knew that I was going to take a big jump. And I think having 12 games starting there under my belt in twenty twenty three really helped me in twenty twenty four, know what I needed to work on. And I feel like that definitely served me well going into last season. So I'm just going to ask you a point blank question similar to what John Gruden did. Kyle, he was he was a little bit more going to tape and film with you in his quarterback school, which was a fascinating watch. Do you feel you were scapegoated by Ohio State?

I wouldn't say that. I mean, listen, I'll tell you, you know, just as much as any coach, any player in that facility, you know, I wish that in twenty twenty three would have won that game, and obviously we win that game. There's a good chance I'm a Buckeye in twenty twenty four. But that's just that's the reality of college football now. I feel like especially at a school like that, there's a lot of pressure to win every year. It's national championship or the season's a failure.

And, you know, it's the third straight time losing to Michigan. And so, you know, I get that they felt like changes need to be made. And that was really my first taste of the business side of things. And, you know, wasn't necessarily an easy decision to leave and wasn't an easy thing to do. But obviously worked out for me and worked out for them.

I think it's one of those rare cases in the transfer portal where both sides benefit from it. So as hard as it was to walk away from that knows it was the best thing that I could have done for my career at the time. Well, I mean, clearly you thrived at Syracuse and one of your biggest games occurred in the final regular season game of the year. Kyle, where you and Syracuse beat Miami and the assumed first overall pick in the draft in Cam Ward. I did hear what you did have to say after that game, Kyle, because it seemed like you were scoreboard watching at the same time about some other game that was going on in another state. Am I wrong, Kyle?

Am I wrong? Yeah. I mean, you saw the question I got asked. And when I said it came full circle, I mean, I was talking more so about myself and obviously losing the last game of the year at Ohio State in the fashion that we did and then fast forward winning, like you said, against Miami. And then I think it was just kind of a full circle moment for me. I think it might have gotten taken out of context a little bit. But I kind of think I took it in the proper context.

Kyle McCord, I'm not going to lie. But, you know, I assume you know what institution of higher learning I attended, right? I sure do. So I kind of I kind of was just like, all right, I like this kid's Moxie. You know, that's the way I responded to it.

And, you know, and again, I'm just wondering, do you at any point in time? I mean, again, it is it's technically a competition, although obviously the draft is is opinion based and these opinions are something you really can't control very much. Do you point out to anybody, hey, you know, there's a guy it's everybody's thinking it's drafted first overall.

Take a look at what I did against that. Do you do you kind of spike the football in that regard in any way, shape or form in your conversations? Yeah, I mean, I think for both teams, for them, it was from Miami. If they won, they got into the ACC championship. And for us, honestly, it was just trying to get to a place where we could get 10 wins with the ball game. So it was a big game for both of us, obviously the biggest game of the year for them and us as well, honestly. And, you know, I wouldn't say, you know, I outperformed them or anything like that. But, you know, when it came down to it, you know, I think that our offense made, you know, just enough place to win.

And especially in an environment like that, I think that just kind of lets teams think just the competitive side and, you know, obviously a high scoring game back and forth, but being able to win, I think kind of stamped what I was what I was telling teams like, you know, that I have the ability to go out and win those big games and be able to put up points and so I think everything, you know, that I showed in that game just kind of presents my game as a whole. Kyle McCord here, a few minutes left with the man who broke an ACC record for yards thrown in his one season with Syracuse right here on the Rich Eisen show. Do you feel like there's a narrative based conversation here, Kyle, that you switch schools, the school that you switched from one at all the next year and thus you're having trouble breaking through as a viable face of a franchise at the next level? Are you are you saying that? Are you at all encountering that in your conversation?

This might just be media. Yeah, not really. Not really, to be honest. I think, you know, a lot of teams have told me that the fact that I went through that adversity and leaving Ohio State and coming to Syracuse, who in the past has been average at best, like seven and six, six and seven, pretty pretty much every year and being able to get to 10 wins.

You know, they say it's really attractive to them. And obviously, you know, you don't know how guys are going to react when they're faced with adversity, but I think that going through all that gave them a perfect idea of how it reacts. And I think every NFL quarterback who goes on to have success at one point in their career faced adversity. And so, like I said earlier, as tough as it was to leave and go through that personally, I think that was the best thing for me to, you know, face that adversity and grow.

And I think NFL teams see value in that as well. Comicord, I'd like to introduce you to Syracuse alum class of 2002, Chris Brockman, who's got a question for you, Chris. Yeah, Kyle, my freshman year, Donovan McNabb was my quarterback and that was the most fun I thought could possibly happen being a student, being a fan of the university.

And then last year happened. And first off, on behalf of all the alumni, thank you for bringing football back. You and Coach Brown and LaQuinta and Arande and everybody else on the roster last year. Could you feel it in the community that you guys were kind of doing something special and that getting the fans and the three one five back excited about football? Yeah, I mean, I was when I first got there, I was pleasantly surprised by just the amount of support that we got off the bat.

And to me, like, I thought that's kind of how it always was there. And then guys like Arande and LaQuinta and Justin Baran, guys who have been there for a while, like, dude, it was not ever like this when we were here. Like, this is the first time where, you know, people are paying money to come see us at a meet and greet and, you know, just say what's up and get autographs and then come into the spring game like I think we set an attendance record last year for the spring game and then rolling into the season, especially once we started having success and winning games, you could definitely feel throughout the community just how much people enjoyed watching, you know, a winning team. And so to see that turnaround and just, you know, a short year, obviously, wish my time there could have been a little longer.

But just seeing that turnaround that quickly, I think was one of the most fulfilling parts about coming here. I'm going to ask you a question. Ask every top prospect that comes on this program kind enough to say yes when when we come knocking. What will a team get if they draft Kyle McCord? A competitor.

I think that's first and foremost, I love to compete. And I think the other thing, too, is a winner. Lost two games in high school and won three state championships and then went to Ohio State and lost one game being a starter there.

And then came to Syracuse. And like I said earlier, you know, took a team that won six and seven the year before the first year had one year when ten and three. So I've won everywhere I've gone. But I think the most important thing, honestly, is you look at my trajectory from year one to year two as a starter and just how much better I got, I think that there's not another player in the draft that made a bigger jump than I did. And so I think that if I can just continue to stay on that trajectory and continue to be hungry to learn and get better, you know, imagine what it's going to look like in year two and year four and year six, you know, down the line, just how much how much growth I can have. And so I think that's the most exciting thing for for teams looking at me. And then honestly, you know, just looking at myself, knowing that, you know, how well I played last year, I still have a lot more left to get better at. And so I think that's you know, that's exciting. And I feel like that's really the selling point that I have the teams is that, you know, I'm, you know, ready to play now.

But at the same time, I know there's still more that I can do to take my game to the next level. Kyle McCord, you know, I appreciate your time here. And again, you knew where I went to school and and you still said yes, so I appreciate that. Number one, number two is my other, I guess, brand on that front is to drag other people down to my level. And instead of doing that to you, well, what I'd like to do is drag you down to my level. But in a way that we can agree on something, Kyle, yeah. Would you mind repeating to me what you told John Gruden you were jawing at the Notre Dame fans after beating Notre Dame? And will you please tell that to my audience, because that really got me the warm and fuzzies inside when I heard this, please.

I don't know if I'm allowed to say verbatim what I said on Barstool. But the PG version was go home, go, go beat the traffic. And then the other thing was there's just there's not a lot of fans that are Notre Dame fans that live in Indiana, you know, they fly in privately on Friday. They go to the game and leave Saturday night. So, you know, tell them, tell them to go and, you know, start the jet up and get up out there. I read that and I'm like, you know what? I really do like, you know, deep down, you and I can share that intensity like I love that. You know, a lot of Notre Dame fans from Indiana, a lot of the locals around here, they all fly in because they love they loved Rudy.

They love watching it. You know what I mean? Yeah, I was like, I like you, comical, like the cut of your gym. I do. Thanks for the time. Greatly appreciate it, Kyle.

You'd be well. Yeah. Yes, sir. Thank you, guys. I look forward to seeing where you go and I'm sure it'll be actually that will be a pretty neat moment, you know, when you get chronicled in any way, shape or form by NFL Films, a kid from Mount Laurel, New Jersey. That's pretty cool stuff, man. I hope that happens for you as fast as you like you and I both. Thank you.

You got man. That's comical, everybody right here on the Rich Eisen Show. A lot of you guys aren't from around here. He really cleaned it up. If you watch if you watch Gruden's QB camp, I appreciate that. Now, that's a guy that understands the audience. He understands where he is, you know.

Yeah, it's different. And I appreciate that, although we do have a bleep button just in case he wanted to give us the barstool Gruden version, you know. But I mean, like, if you're going to jaw at Notre Dame fans after beating them in their house, I kind of dig you. The best part, too, about that is, you know, the famous ending of that game is Notre Dame only had 10 players in the field.

That's right. So he says to Gruden, he's like, you know, I noticed there was a gap and I kind of did a quick count. And I looked over at the sideline and I was like, I didn't want to give it away. So they saw that I knew that they only had 10 guys on the field.

And then we ran the play and scored. And then I started jawing. It's pretty funny. Oh, is he still listening?

I pop him back up. I just want to tell you again, I really dig. I really dig your thought process.

I really do. Yeah, no, that was good. That was good stuff. So I knew exactly when when he asked me that question, I knew exactly what what what I was going to say was funny.

But yeah, I mean, all my own because they put I think it's the I think it's like the donor section is right behind your bench. And so the entire game, it's like 56 year old dudes like yelling at you. Yeah, it was terrible. And so obviously in the game, like, you're not going to turn around and say anything.

And then it was there's a clip of me after we scored it, like hopped up on the bench and was yelling at him. And they're all, you know, walking to the exit. So, yeah, it's funny. Yeah.

Can't hear can't hear you over your jingling Rolexes as you go back to your plane, gas up the jet at the FBO in South Bay. Yeah, I got you. I got you. We'll chat again soon, Kyle. Have a good drive. Thank you.

That's com accord. Everybody has always like when people hang on a listen and then they pop back. And now he's gone. Very good. It's kind of our thing now we kind of see eye to eye there.

The other stuff, not so much command. That dude in one year became a Syracuse legend that set the ACC school record for passing yards. And what they were able to do last year was just, like I said, over and over again, the most fun I've had watching Syracuse every Saturday in a long time. And he said Steelers. It's a good spot, maybe not 21st overall problem for them is they don't have a second round pick if somebody wants to jump the line. Right.

That's DK Metcalf's freight to get him. As always, the Steelers still have other draft choices. Let me see one pick in every round. Yeah. Eighty third overall. That could happen.

That's not bad. Could happen. Seattle goes in front of them, and if Seattle has any desire to maybe. Hedge a Darnold bet. Well, if you look at the top of that third round, it's the Giants, 65 Cleveland, 67 Vegas, 68.

There you go. Like those are quarterback spots. Top of three.

Yeah. Top two is Cleveland Giants. There's Vegas again. It's Cleveland Giants, Tennessee, Jacksonville. There's Vegas again. Oh, New Orleans at 40. Yeah. And he said the Saints had him in, right?

Did he say that? He said the Jets had him in. They're sitting there at the Jets, 42, 42.

Sitting there at 42. Seventy three in the third round. Yeah, that's right. And they don't the Jets don't have it. That's right.

The Jets don't have a third round pick because that's what they coughed up for Devontae Adams. How'd that go? You know, not great. He was against against the against Jacksonville. It was great. That went over Jacksonville quite similar to yours over the Bills the final week.

Yeah, the Jets, Jets, Jets might be fourth. Wasn't for that. I'm not going to go down that road now because you know why?

It's negative pain and common core just made me feel very positive. So he was great with good, and if you have time, check it out. Those QB camp things are fun. I mean, I just remember working with Groot. He was on NFL Network first.

Yeah, we had him on our draft coverage first. All world. Hotel lobby barking. Oh, yeah. I mean, you can see that all the world. So we tell her the cadence, the way he speaks. Oh, my goodness.

Stories after stories. And he's like, Mariucci, where he'll hit you and he's talking. He'll just hit you in the arm. And it's just like, hey, you know, it works out. He's a big dude. It's like you do realize you are making contact with me, talking to me, right? Like you're.

Then you read the Twitter bio and you begin to think something could be up because it says former NBC sports broadcaster, 21 time Emmy Award winner, 11 time Olympic host, president and sole member of the BCFC Bob Costas fan club. Doesn't sound like Bob. So I wanted to make sure that we're all buttoned up and inviting here on the Rich Eisen Show to discuss this very subject is none other than the real actual 100 percent authentic Bob Costas. How are you, Bob?

I'm good, Rich. Late last night and then again this morning when I woke up, dozens of texts, some claiming it must be real. Some saying this can't be true.

Yes. And one said this is the best indication that hell has frozen over since the old four Red Sox or the 2016 Cubs. But I am here to assure you and everybody else that the fires of hell are still very much blazing because I am absolutely not on Twitter.

They have taken the bogus account down and I began thinking, you know, what would actually what would I have to do before I ever deigned to be on Twitter? What like binge watch the Real Housewives of Orange County? Make a return trip to Sochi just with the nostalgia of a guy episode. Darn to face get ball or or just for you here for you, Rich.

Yes, Bob. Make a special trip to the NFL combo. All those things will happen before I'm ever on Twitter. I mean, a prequel to basketball would be pretty epic prequel. I like it. Yeah. You know what? I have to admit that. So if the Zucker brothers ask me to do a sequel, especially without Michaels at my side, yes, the basketball, it must it must be done. All right.

OK, so this is the real Bob Costas. We can confirm that now. Yeah. Twitter needs that. Oh, my gosh.

I mean, of all the things in the world. So did you did you did you your son tweeted it out that this is not you. When I saw the the first screen grab that that Keith sent to me. Yes. One tip off should be, look, I'm a reasonably humble and self-effacing guy. Yes. But what I knowingly should change myself. Seven Emmys to get the number of Emmys. Right. Exactly. I said that.

I said twenty one seems a little right. You got to pull a scam. Get your ducks in a row. Oh, man. I love Bob.

It's so good. You know what? Screw it. I'm going to read you because I did get the annual mid combine text, mid combine broadcast while I'm on the air text from Bob Costas. Jeez.

Because he does not like the combine. You I'll read it even though I don't have his permission. That's fine. Spring. This is sent Thursday night. First night of the combine spring training, fresh air in Florida and Arizona. The crack of the bat, the pop of the ball and glove, the anticipation of spring and opening day or the combine dehumanizing meat market in a charmless dome with all the appeal of going to Planet Fitness at two a.m. to watch people work out, still deciding we'll get back to you. Oh, by the way, best to you and Suzy. Planet Fitness at two a.m. to watch people work out. Are all the Tostitos. Back on the Rich Eisen Show radio, everybody, everybody. Let's talk on day because every Hyundai offers available class exclusive advanced safety features that can alert you to potential dangers around you.

Because boy, howdy. Can there be when you're behind the wheel of a car? Hyundai has over 130 IHS top safety awards since 2006 because Hyundai is always working to ensure the road doesn't get you.

IHS top safety awards include top safety pick and top safety pick plus awards to Hyundai vehicles from 2006 to 2025. I mean, it really is a total one of the more in my mind, obviously, because I'm I'm on the air for every draft choice. Let me get the exact number. I haven't even looked at that yet.

The exact number is 257. Kansas City has the final draft choice. Oh, Mr. Irrelevant, if you will. Although I think Brock Purdy is kind of re-imagined what the last pick in the draft means.

Should we change the name of that to the Brock Purdy award? Just something. I don't know. Relevancy. Oh, you want to run that through the R.E.S.

consulting machine? Great. Yeah, kind of. They don't they wouldn't appreciate it. The Mr. Irrelevant people, really, they put on a whole show parade. They got a dinner.

They get the whole thing. That might have to lead things well enough. Still, I mean, I think so irrelevant. They did get drafted.

Well, they just they don't want to become irrelevant. You know what I'm saying? And I don't want to actually add to that. But anyway, I'm on the air for all 257.

The only anchor, by the way, who does. Hello. And wow. So I just find it fascinating who's going to be the.

Fourth quarterback select. Because we all know Cam Ward's won. Yeah.

And is it possible Jackson Dart goes before Shador Sanders? Depends who you talk to. But yeah. OK. Yeah. Yeah.

So let's do the what's more likely. Cam Ward's number one overall. Shador goes second, right? Then Jackson Dart is third. Who's four and when and where?

And what does that mean? Who's already at the spot that takes this kid? How good of a spot is it in terms of the coaches standing there?

How quickly can this kid get in there? I mean, that's fascinating to me. And in that mix of people, there's Jalen Milro. There's Will Howard. There's Kyle McCord. Right. Tyler Shuck. There's Tyler Shuck. Who's it going to be?

That is a fascinating question for me. I think the when to is is what you're saying, because like, you know, say Cleveland doesn't take a quarterback at two. There's thirty three right there for the top of the second round. Like that will be a quarterback. I'm imagining. And that and by the way, let me just jump in.

Yeah, sure. Um, that is what Howie Roseman hopes everyone does believe. Because the minute Travis Hunter goes to the Browns and the Browns are potentially still in the quarterback market and they don't trade back in to the first round and they're sitting there thirty third overall. Right. And the how he's making phone calls. He's not making phone calls. He's receiving.

Yeah. He is receiving them because I am sure he's happy to stick and pick. There's going to be a very good player for the Philadelphia Eagles at thirty second overall that he gets a fifth year of contractual control on.

But he will just make sure his phone is fully charged and has all five bars because. I think that everyone will, even if they think Cleveland won't do it, there's a giant sitting right there, too. Yeah. Giants don't go.

And that's what we were saying. Thirty four is Giants. They're in the quarterback market. Thirty seven Raiders. They're in the quarterback market. Forty Saints. Forty two Jets. They're all quarterback spots. Yeah. Fifty Seattle. So this is fascinating to me.

It really, really is. And then Philadelphia could trade into the thirty third overall spot if Cleveland wants to pop back in and make sure nobody else beats them to the punch also. Yeah, I can move back one spot, pick up an extra fifth or sixth rounder.

I mean, Kansas City could be a spot for that, too, right? Yeah. We all know Buffalo doesn't mind trading. Yep.

By the way, I like slagging on the Bills when the biggest Bills fan is counting us down. Well, it's really it's really says, you know, radio's gone or whatever. He just said jerk. Yeah. You know, it's a curse word.

Normally they're trading with Kansas City and they're only one pick ahead of the Chiefs. And that doesn't seem to be a situation this year. Careful. You might call you a jerk. I mean, I tell them go Bills at the end of every day. But you don't know you don't. I do.

Right, Mike? I do. You really say that when you walk out the door? I walk out the door and say, go Bills. I do.

I do really like Josh Allen. What's not to like? I mean, that's what I'm saying. So my guy.

What's it? You are the first guys to talk about it. We're coming up on what? That was seven years ago.

Man, that's well, because where is the time flies like that? P.J. had the hold on a second. You like Josh Allen, but then you loved Josh Allen when he was nice to you. When you went up to him with your phone to shoot some videos for our social media, when you were just merely the grand maester for our program. Now look at you.

It's a hyphenate. Now you're a slash. You're like Cordell Stewart.

Right. And now and and he was very nice to you. And he responded to you and he was really cool. And he was one of the top quarterbacks in the draft. You're in Dallas, home of the Cowboys.

You're feeling it. It was cool. That draft, I mean, you know, we had a good time.

That's when you fell in love with Josh Allen because he was nice to you. Well, isn't that how friendships start? Like, yeah, people meet. They're nice to each other. Oh, you're cool. I like you. That's how it goes. I don't know.

I married somebody who wasn't terribly nice to me when we first met. Well, she had this thing on, she had her walls up and you had to do like, you know, let Jericho break the walls down a little bit. That's like 250 an hour to figure out what happened. Oh, more expensive than that, pal. Yeah.

I'm just I'm happy that it's not even more expensive than that, because that means an attorney's involved. Right. Well, Laura Wasser's involved. Well, she she told me you were part of that. She told me on the first date you had Steely Dan playing in the car. Oh, my God. That set her off.

That was so absurd yesterday. By the way, first date like this was normal. Sure. Like we were going to the movies together. OK, it's together.

Yeah, it's not like Archie comics. Seriously, it's like all of a sudden, like, yeah, we went to the sock hop together in Bristol, Connecticut, the Bristol sock hop down from the IHOP sock up. Susie led during the roller skate, though, you could tell. OK, she led. OK, OK, OK. Bristol stock up there.

We got quite the list of fantasy teams. All right. You know, Jordan loves about the joint. Hey, how about that?

Then Bud Selig. Wow. Yeah, what a show.

We're running the gamut. What a show. NBA veteran Jim Jackson takes you on the court.
