Welcome, fellow adventurers, to the Masculine Journey Joyride Podcast. This is a brand-new show from the guys you know.

I'm talking, of course, about the Band of Brothers. My name is Keith, and I'm the producer for Masculine Journey and Masculine Journey After Hours. In this podcast, you will hear funny stories, exchanges, and thought-provoking moments that will amuse you, make you smile, and draw you closer to Jesus Christ in your journey of life. Hey, Joyriders.

It is I, the amazing Keith Eaney. You know, the guys are talking about spring cleaning this week and decluttering their life, and that inspired me. I've been going through old props and costumes. I even found some that still fits.

Well, I have to suck my stomach in, but I still look good. I even dusted off my old saw a man in half trick boxing saw. Now, the saw is a bit dull and rusty, but it still works. Oh, did I get you? Oh, that's just a scratch.

You good. You did remember to sign that waiver, just in case, right? I guess about the same time we lost the dealership, my wife was really, really hurt by the people in our church. When I had cancer, and I went through my brain thing, and all the different things that I went through, is my wife would tell you that, you know, I couldn't pass by a hospital without it somehow sucking me into it.

Hospital for you is like, cheers. But they would always ask how I was, but nobody seemed to really get into what my wife was going through. And it's really quite easier to be the patient than it is to be the spouse of the patient in so many different ways. And the hurt of that resulted in a giant change in a shift in that I loved our church, and I was very involved in our church, and I had this opportunity to teach a big Sunday school class. My wife wanted no part of that because of the wounding that she received from the church, which, you know, all these people had great intentions and just didn't realize that, but it didn't change the fact on how Tammy felt, and she wasn't comfortable in that situation. And so what I felt like was clearly our direction of ministry got changed a lot.

And one of the ways it got changed was, as we talked about many times as I started teaching special needs, but the other way that it changed, I really was falling into legalism. And there were so many things that I was doing because that was what I expected, it was my duty, it was this, it was that. And Darren and Sam came along, and I went to that first boot camp, man, I watched that movie, and I was like, this is not a Christian movie. Shame, shame, shame. It was deliverance, right? Defiance. We did not, we will never show deliverance at boot camp. So from the guys at Masculine Journey, I'm Keith, and we'll see you down the road. This is the Truth Network.
