You need Indeed. Good morning, everybody. First of all, give me the Badgers minus the 28 over Buffalo. It's a 2.30 start time, Wisconsin time this weekend. Looking forward to more college football, a bunch on Thursday, a bunch coming up on Friday. There's a bunch of games on Saturday. There's a weird triple header on Sunday, and then a game on Monday night. So lots of colleges, they can sneak in some more games. NFL used to start Labor Day weekend.

They pushed that back and college can have this weekend all to itself. We'll talk with Ryan Horvat coming up in a little bit about not just college, but some Packer stuff. And he is a Cubs fan. So we will take a look back on that series and all the misery that came with it. The Brewers did not get anybody in the waiver process. The Angels and the Yankees, a couple of other teams, put some guys on waivers. And there used to be a waiver trade deadline day.

Shout out Ray King. But now they just put them on waivers and anybody can grab them. There's a waiver system, but it doesn't reset. So one team, the worst team in the league, the A's could have claimed all these guys if they wanted to. They'd have to find a spot for them on their roster, but any team can claim all these guys. And so what you saw was the teams that were on the edge of contention, really bringing these guys into the fold for them, but also blocking other teams. And really, it's just the Ohio teams. Cincinnati, the Reds, not too far back out of the wildcard spot, they've claimed Hunter Renfro, Brewers legend, and Harrison Bader.

Remember, as much as Bader's killed us, and you don't want Renfro revenge, I guess, Brewers don't play the Reds anymore this season. So maybe that's not, I mean, we'll see. Are these two guys going to put them over the top?

I don't know. The Guardians claimed a bunch of pitchers, Lucas Giolito, Matt Moore, and then Ronaldo Lopez. So they've claimed a bunch of those guys from the Angels.

Here's the thing about the Guardians, they're five and a half back of the Twins. And so really, they shouldn't be, they got a 5% chance to make the playoffs. But the Twins, so one of the things I talk about on the national shows is who's the most disappointing team in baseball? And the Mets are a very easy answer.

They had a huge payroll. But I'm disappointed in the Angels. Their season was so stupid, they always should have traded Shohei, unless they were contending, which they were, and then Trout was hurt, and then everybody they played in August was a playoff team.

Of course, they weren't going to get through that. But the Twins, the Twins did nothing at the break, okay, or nothing at the deadline. They're almost resigned to the fact, and the Guardians blocked the Twins from maybe getting any of these guys. The Twins are almost resigned to the fact, because the Guardians were sellers at the deadline.

So the Twins are almost like cool with, hey, we're going to get in the playoffs, this division sucks. We're not going to try that hard to improve our team. We're not going to risk anything in the future, because we know that once we get into the playoffs, we're just going to get fed. We are not that good. We didn't make the improvements to get good.

So why risk any long-term success? The result is going to be the same. We're going to get into the playoffs. We're going to win our division. So we'll take on one of the wildcard teams. It'd be the worst wildcard team, and the worst wildcard team looks like it's going to be one of these teams from the West.

Seattle, Houston, Texas, they're all in this three-game race, and yeah, Minnesota would host, but Houston is going to beat Minnesota. Minnesota is just like, they're four games over 500. They're resigned to the fact that they're going to win the Central with a pretty below average team.

And so the Guardians are like, you know what, screw it. These guys don't cost us nothing. Maybe we'll make the playoffs, five and a half back. So adds a little intrigue to a division that has been sorely lacking any throughout the year. Brewers apparently are interested. There was a tweet from Ken Rosenthal, and maybe they signed him by now, but maybe they didn't. They are interested in free agent third baseman Josh Donaldson. Josh Donaldson has had a nice career. He hit a lot of home runs. He's 37, and he is like every bit of 37. He has played with the A's, the Blue Jays, Cleveland, Braves, Twins, most recently the Yankees. He was an MVP in 2015, was a three-time All-Star last time in 16, Comeback Player of the Year in 19.

So his career peaked eight years ago, and now it's like, what, if anything, does he have left in the tank? The team would only owe Donaldson a prorated salary of a minimum salary. The tweet that Ken Rosenthal has says that Montesterio has regressed in August a 590 OPS for the month. Anything to not have to pull up Kestin Hira. I mean, the Brewers will do anything if it means not bringing up Kestin Hira now that the September call-ups kick in. What's that, Josh Donaldson? Good eight years ago?

Bring him up? Anything to keep Kestin Hira out of the picture. Brewers start a series with the Phillies on Friday night, so amongst all the college football, certainly we'll have our eye on that.
