You need Indeed. Good morning everybody. Not a 10 out of 10 today with the Brandon Woodruff news. He's not going to pitch this week. Might not pitch at all.

He didn't seem like he's going to pitch this the way he was talking to the media. Oh boy. Bart Winkler show. Got some thoughts on Bucks Media Day. Busy day. Busy day for the Wisconsin media. You've got a Brewers workout where you find out one of your meal tickets to the World Series is hurt out of nowhere.

You've got Damian Lillard being introduced. My goodness. One of those days where I mentioned to get back out there. One of those days where actually I'm just like happy to be laying on my couch stealing video off the Bucks website and getting a ton of RTs. I tweeted about Giannis' comments about how he wants money because nobody else was. I just wanted the audio for the podcast. I'll play it later when we talk about the media day. But I just wanted the audio. Nobody was posting it. So I did it. I had the video. I might as well tweet it. Get it out to the world. I wanted the world to see it.

I don't want I don't need I don't need clicks. I just want the world to see because the quote was out there. But there was no context that you need the video. Seeing it in words is different than seeing it in video. This is how I've never I've never gotten in trouble or scolded for anything I've ever said on the radio ever. Tweet it and it's words. Oh, brother. Words sticks and stones break my bones, but words will never hurt me. Bullshit.

People can't handle words. So Brandon Woodruff is not going to pitch this week. And he may not pitch the rest of the postseason. It's a right shoulder capsular injury.

The Brewers no team lets me learn about muscles, trapezius and a capsular injury. His availability for the postseason up at the air at this point, according to Todd Rosey Act, General Sentinel, you had no issues until his final start in Miami could tell something was off live BP the other day. The ball wasn't coming out or was coming out well, but he didn't feel good yesterday. Then he felt like how he did in April and may not be able to pitch.

Grab some video that Hunter Baumgart took of 97 three the game our guy Hunter and here's Brandon Woodruff talking at the podium. He's I just doesn't sound good from him. Good. You know, it's more, you know, like when you deal with an injury and then it pops back up, it just popped up at the plate. It's a blessing because I can, you know, have it taken care of. So sorry, it's it sucks, man. I mean, I got I know it's out there. I don't I can't listen anymore that this sucks.

That sucks. You know, if this would have happened a month later or the playoffs start a month sooner or you know, the timing on this is brutal. And so from a Brewers perspective, okay, yes, this changes their chances. I don't know that they're going to be as big of favorites over the Diamondbacks. I don't know. I mean, you'll still have people look at them as the dark horse, but I don't know that I'm going to I'm going to back off.

I was ready to I was ready to go be World Series prediction guy. It's still possible. We could talk about that, but I this hurts. It hurts. Brandon Woodruff is hurt and that hurts. And the reaction is we are cursed. This sucks. We still have Burns.

We still have Freddie. So it's not like I think we reacted to the Woodruff news like we got eliminated from the place like we're not even going to get a chance to play, which I'm not judging that. That's how it felt because I think everybody you know, people were starting to think with the good vibes over the weekend. The whole Bosley story, the kid from UWL, the fun day on Sunday, you know, beating the Cubs, knocking them out here.

I don't know, just I think people were starting to believe and this really does come out of nowhere. You know, I'll always remember the spot on the at the pumpkin patch I was at when I read about Devin Williams on Twitter. I'll always remember when I first saw the Adam McKelvie tweet and I thought it was fake. I thought it was a fake. I thought like, you know, there's a hundred woege fake accounts during trade season.

You're like, Oh my God. And then I realized it's Adam McKelvie doesn't have a hundred fake. There's not even a fake Adam McKelvie like Adam McKelvie where the L is a capital I thought it was like I was checking. Now it was him. And then Rosie and then obviously that was Brandon Woodruff speaking.

So yes, it is real. And it does, and it does stink. So we'll break down more of that here coming up. And we'll do that with Grant Bills in a little bit, but Timothy Shea, we're going to bug him at work.

Working hard for CBS 58, of course. So the Brewers are the better team injury notwithstanding. I think we don't know much about the Diamondbacks. I mean, we, we haven't watched much about the Diamondbacks. We played them a couple of times. Corbin Carroll is good. Their pitching is good.

They got a lineup in a weird way where it's a Brandon fought the name looks like fat, but it's fought and then they'll go with their horses. But I don't know. I think we're the better team.

That's where I'm at right now. Yeah, I kind of want to lean towards just, I mean, I don't want to lean towards the other Brewers are better. I mean, I think they're the better team. They're the better hitting team. They're the better pitching team overall. So I, I, I, I want to say not confident a hundred percent, but I want to say that the brew should handle.

We shouldn't even have to worry about a game on Thursday. How about that? Yeah. I don't think that that's, that's too hard to say though. I mean, I guess it will take a Brewer slump and that's, you know, easier. That's that's more likely, I guess to happen, you know, a little, a little hitting slump.

And if that happens, God forbid that happens. But I just, I think this team's better. I think this team is, I think we can agree that they're better. I, I just, I even think about like the COVID year in 2022, where we had the worst playoff team to ever play off and they could have beat the Dodgers.

Like that Dodgers, the Dodgers didn't blow us out. No, I mean, we were still close in those games. Yeah.

It was like five to two. Yeah. They were, they were in those games, the worst team ever against the Dodgers who eventually won that year. If I remember right.

Their only world series. Yeah. So the LA teams winning during COVID time.

Yeah. But even, even still like the thing that gets me excited is we've, we've got like guys that we shouldn't have like Mark Hannah is producing and Carlos Santana is producing and this whole Josh Donaldson thing. You know, we just, we got, we got, we got pieces during the season that are effective. You know, the Braves and Dodgers, we can look ahead to that. And I think some people are always like, Oh, you know, the, the, the Brewers would play Saturday and we're already making plans for that, but they got to get through this. It really is going to depend on, they got to get hits and they can get hit.

They, they, they, the, the problem with predicting baseball is they like, okay, let's predict it. They can do it. They're good enough. They're better. They can get hits. They can help pitch them. They are better. They're a favorite for a reason, but they have to, they have to go and do it.

And that is, that is like, that's where I can't jump over the fence with, you know, fully locking into a prediction of some kind is they have to be able to go ahead and get it done. You need Indeed. So I was just saying that like I can't, I can't predict anything. That being said, I will be tremendously disappointed if the Brewers lose.

They have to win this. I mean, the playoffs, I don't think we think the playoffs start until the next round. This is just like a, this is just like a walk in. And the problem that I've had with the playoffs is like, remember the year the Bucks won?

It was great. And then the Brewers were in, but it was over in like a day, you know, cause the Braves beat us. I want this to last a little bit. I want, I want time for the city to get fully involved in and invested. I want to be, you know, and with these three game series, you know, it just, it's, it's over in the blink of an eye. Is this like the play in tournament for the NCAA? Like not a lot of people care about it and about it. And if you're the higher seed, you're the hosting and you're supposed to win.

And like, would you compare it to that? No, I mean, it is kind of like an old NFL format with the six teams. It's nice that the games are at home. You can get more excitement. If these games are on the road, it's not quite the same, but cause I, there's a certain feeling like you get like, I don't, I don't know that I'll feel it. I don't know that I felt it so far, but maybe as we get closer to the game, you can walk outside and you can feel like you it's tangible. You can feel playoff baseball and something I think against the Braves two years ago that never was able to materialize cause it happened so quickly, but if they knock out this series, then get into a series with the Dodgers, you know, then, okay, then they, once you're a weekend and then, you know, you start to see pop-up stands and tens, you start to, you know, more, more news stations are trying to interview fucking podcasters like me.

And I think it works. Yeah. Maybe more banners hanging at the stadium too. Cause I haven't seen anything yet.

You know, like claws up. Well, we're brewed for battle this year. Sure. Which is, it is better. The thing is, it's not like a team slogan.

It's just probably like something that they picked for the, for the post season. Yeah. What do you remember about 2011? Were you working there at the time?

Oh yeah. Um, gosh, I remember going up to nothing and being like, all right, we're done winning game in Arizona. Then we got St. Louis.

We were planning, get this. So, um, Niger, Oregon, like that, that game five was nuts. I remember being really nervous and then being sick to my stomach when Oxford tied up the game.

But I think he had a runner on third at one point too. I really scarcely remember the whole series. I remember game five being at the now defunct JRS in Fond du Lac, where we took all like the couches that they had in my favorite bar, but they were able to, we watched it on like a nice T it was, it was like a living room in a bar. And, um, we went crazy. We ordered bottles of champagne afterwards, which I didn't know at the time was actually just their cheapest wine, uh, that I thought was champagne. And we just, I mean, obviously it was a shit show after that, but we, we were the ones, some my staff were the ones that got to shoot off the confetti guns. Oh, fun. Yeah. So we had about a hundred of those scattered around the ballpark, but, um, and then I, I, I remember once we made it to the NLCS, like game four, they had to start setting up for the world series just in case. Cause we had to host a party every day for MLB. During the world series.

Yeah. They host, they, they like set up like a tent. Like if anyone remembers you drive past the stadium and you'd see all these tents. And that's what that was for back in 2011. And I just remember being one game short, well, two games, I guess, since we lost in game six about the NLCS, I did go to one of the games, uh, with my brother.

We sat super high. Oh, Ryan Braun got tested after game one, two. That's what I remember. Oh, um, is that why you hate him?

Whatever game we lost, the game, we lost like 11 to three to the Cardinals. Oh yeah. Yep.

How was that one? That was game two. Yeah.

That sucks. I remember also game one, we won. And then that night I went to the first big 10 game for Nebraska who played at camp Randall. Oh, sure.

Look at you. And then came back to do the brewery game the next day. And that's the game that they lost 11 to three. So what's your, uh, drop dead, honest prediction for how far the brewers go now that we know the path they win this first round. And then it's we lose in five Dodgers.

Yeah. The Dodgers almost being like our version of the nineties Dallas Cowboys. But, but I will not be surprised if we win and go to the NLCS. I think we don't.

I think we lose in five. Well, obviously the Woodruff injury changes a lot of stuff here. Um, you know, you can't line up burns, Woody Peralta, and then maybe throwing a Miley and reset and go, you do need like, you do need Miley or Howser Ray, or you're going to need one of those guys to deliver performances that they haven't had in a while.

And I know like the initial shock of the Woodruff injuries is bad. And it, again, I don't know when we're going to see him. If we're going to see him, are we a Brandon Woodruff away from making the world series? Is that what it's going to come down to?

Is this like, are we going to look at this? Like with the bucks? Well, be honest, didn't get hurt. We would have won.

I middle didn't get hurt. We were one. Are we going to look at it like that? Or is it going to be going back to it's baseball? You know, it is baseball.

I was ready and confident to go on a world series prediction here. And now without Brandon Woodruff, I don't know that you can, can do that, but other teams have dealt with pitching injuries too. And that was going to give us the edge over the Dodgers and the braids if we got that far, but they're just going to need those other guys to step up. And a lot of it is going to now, like we always come into these playoffs thinking our pitching, our pitching, our pitching, our pitching, our pitching. This might have to be like, if the Brewers are ever going to win anything, it might have to come down to the offense.

And they did add pieces at the deadline. Now they're going to need Yellich to produce and you're going to need, you know, Sal Freelich and, you know, Contreras has been a huge part of this team. And the bullpen has been good.

You're going to need guy. Like we got to feel like whoever's playing first, you know, Santana a lot, but we need moments from any of these other guys. They throw in the roster.

I just, yes, Willie Adamas needs to show up. But yeah, I think that they're, I really do think that like those trade acquisitions and even Josh Donaldson, like you can't, those aren't nothing. In fact, they're quite, they're quite not nothing. They're quite something. We finally actually got pieces at the deadline that can help our offense.

The thing that always cost us in the playoffs instead of Anthony Swarzak. Let me ask you this. Cause I, I watched your, uh, um, a segment on channel 12 on Monday and they brought up, they brought up Craig council. Is he leaving? I don't know. Kind of, I think he's going to the Mets. I don't think he's going to them. I think he is. I don't think he's going to the Mets.

Okay. I think he's, I don't think he's managing next year. It doesn't think he's taking a year off a little buck. Showalter did step down in New York. It's just all little fishy right now.

That whole thing, that Craig council thing, he just doesn't want to answer it. Like I feel like he knows, I feel like he knows he's gone the whole time. I know. I just, I think it's just starting to more and more come to me now. Like, all right. I thought maybe in the middle of the season, I'm like, okay, he's going to come back.

He's just waiting for the season to get over with. If you're at, if you're at this point and you haven't said anything, it's more likely that the answer is bad. Right. Yeah.

And you haven't said like what are your, you're delaying the bad answer. I know. I know. I just, if he does go to the Mets, what a disaster. If they win and then he leaves, does it matter? They, I mean, they got to win the whole thing. Yeah. So you think, uh, yeah, I don't, I don't think they get past the Dodgers.

I don't know. I had that discussion with Tim Allen the other day because he thinks they're going to win. He thinks they're going to go to the CS and he wasn't shy of saying they could play the Phillies. That would be something.

Oh, that's a Grant's prediction. He says he doesn't know how or why they're going to lose to the Phillies lose to the Phillies. Wow. Okay. And that would have to be NLCS at this point.

And the Brewers would have home field. Yeah. I just want this to last.

I just want it to last. You want to play till November? Yeah. Well I had, you know, I want, if I'm going to do these post games, it's all about me. Um, I, cause the box, I could have had a lot of post game shows. Yeah. Can we suspend hot take Jake from the baseball, your baseball post game shows? Because when he comes in here and everyone wants to talk baseball and he starts talking about the box, we'll make our baseball click, click. Okay.

Okay. That being said, uh, what do you think about Drew? Good, good for Boston.

I mean, it's got a nice defensive player, but it's not, it's, it's definitely not a, uh, uh, we got you back. That's how the world, I know, I know, I know. So I brought this up on channel 12 that, uh, and I brought this up on my show yesterday, but I get this email from bed online or bed, AIG, whatever box one up or Celtics one up bucks.

No, they didn't. You can't one up a guy. If you, it's I hate national media. Yeah. See, that's why I like the local CBS 58 and the WISN 12 and the Fox six is in the TMJ news.

And that's why we like you. Yeah. Thanks Tim. Until you go on to CBS national radio, when's your next, uh, when are you going there next? Um, I can't get in the studio this week. Oh, yeah. Okay.

So it's a big podcast week for me. All right. All right. Well, I'll be here if you need me.

You know where to find me. I do a CBS 58 or at the stadium or at stadium stadium. Do you get like exclusive fun times? You're a big sponsor of the stadium.

Um, what do you mean fun time? Like tickets get playoff tickets or CBS 58 all over the place. I'm sure they get tickets. It's just that we don't get them.

Well, you're lower on the totem pole. They don't give them the guys who work there for two months, quit their job back a week later. They do offer like regular season. Like they offer, you know, like they back in June, I went, um, to a game, good seats. They like, you know, did a raffle and I won. Hmm.

So, but I'm sure they have them. Yeah. Great. Well, uh, have fun.

I don't think I'm going to be there. Well, I'll be there for all your coverage. Yeah. We have boots on the ground. I'll be the boots on the ground for you. All right.

Let's do some more live streaming illegally. I like before and after the game, maybe we can do something during the chalk lineups when they're, you know, introducing the lineups. Yep. Do a, do a, do a quick 30 minutes prior. Yep. 10 minute, you know, look in before the game. I don't know.

Yeah. So Hey, remember when you are going to the game, Tim, you're going to be going there, you know, and, and people that are going there, it's, that's, it's, it's starting to be about the time when, you know, gets a little darker earlier. A lot of people, there's been a lot of people walking around and stuff. So you gotta, you gotta be cautious of pedestrians. You know, that's why we've teamed up with the Wisconsin bike fed to remind all road users to turn your lights on, slow down and look around.

We need to work together to make sure everyone, Tim, no matter how they travel through our community to get home safe. And because the structure at the ballpark is so car friendly and not person friendly, you need to take extra costs. I'm not even just talking on the road. I'm talking in the GD parking lot. You gotta, you gotta be careful.

Wisconsin bike fed.org. You know, I see some of you guys trying to drive out of there. I mean, there's little kids walking around playing, playing catch. No, no, no, no. That's not what a parking lot's for.

A parking lot's for my big Ford F-150 to go where I need to go when I need to be there. Anywho. Yeah, that's all I got. I'm just, I'm, I'm just waiting for these games. I'm just waiting for these games. I'm ready.

I'm ready for playoff baseball. Let's go. Hey now. Hey, now grant bills is here, but Tim's still here.

Wow. You guys what's up? Hi Tim. How are you? I'm good.

Grant. How was your Octoberfest? It was great. Wasn't in town long.

It was only there for about 12 hours. I had to go to a wedding. It's just, it's my wedding era.

It's every other GD weekend. I missed that era. That's a good era. The, the, the enjoyment goes down when there's so many, it's hard to enjoy them as much, you know? Yeah.

Cause then you're like, Hey everyone, I know I just saw you three weeks ago. Oh, booze and dancing was my favorite things, but you know, I just didn't do chicken dance last time. Let's do it this time. The DJ at this wedding was, was pretty killer. I have no complaints. Just an outstanding job. I mean, I, he was forcing us to leave the dance floor to go to the bathroom when great songs were playing.

Like he just, this guy didn't take breaks with the songs he played, but first was good, Tim. Thank you for asking. Yeah. Would've loved to have you there.

Obviously I would love a chance to Octoberfest with you someday, but maybe next year, maybe next year. All right, Tim, get to work. All right. Y'all have a good day.

Go brewers, go brewers. Tim. He had brought up a council, which is a specific thing I want to talk to about with you. And here's the thought that I had this morning. And I was going to say it on television, but I decided to save it for 30 minutes into my show here on the pod.

You got to keep some things just for you. You know, I would feel more, you can use this today. Okay. I would feel more violated. It's not the right word.

What's the right word. I would feel more. I would, I would be more upset.

We'll start with upset. If Craig council went to New York, then I would have Giannis went to New York. I would be more upset if Giannis left now we have Dame.

So, okay, we're going to do that for a while, but if we never traded and you know, Giannis, I always felt like if Giannis ended up leaving, Hey, you're great. You know, you're eating brats. You know, you love Milwaukee. You're saying I'm here. What you, you are like, yes, we've, you, we, you've adopted you.

You've adopted us. Go live your life though, man. Go you be you, you, you have a unique talent. You want a new challenge. You know, I that that's, that's totally fine.

I can't stop you from that. But Craig is like this. I did say on TV, no manager ever in any sport has, he doesn't just know like managers know what it's like to play.

So that's why they're so good. He knows what it's like to sit in the fifth row behind the dugout. He knows what it's like to sit in the upper level. He knows what it's, he knows what it's all. He knows all of it.

When he's in the stadium, his brain can be in tune with every person there. And so, you know, him saying these comments again, and I just feel like what I told Tim was the longer he doesn't answer the question, the more I think the answer is bad. So first of all, I think violated is the perfect word.

I would feel so violated. I feel like someone just pulled something over on me. If council ended up in New York and I don't think he's going to, I guess, did Rosenthal's piece have anything new in it? I've just, I've just kind of stopped reading the stories because they had a Rosenthal specifically. I think he's just like, you know, sometimes when you don't have details, you just try to connect dots. And if you're trying to connect dots, there's, there's way worse swings than brewers, GM, New York, GM, brewers, manager, Mets need a manager. I mean, there's the obvious connection if you're not, if you don't have any info, he's not, he's not playing dirty pool journalism, speaking with that. I just, no, I think council is going to step away.

That's what everyone's saying. And if he ended up in New York, yeah, I think, I think I would be, I would be more violated by that than Giannis. In general, I say New York, obviously, cause Mets seems to be the one, but I, yeah, cause the longer he goes, like if he was going to stay, I don't know if he was going to be like, no, I'm going to take it. I just feel like him not, it hasn't bothered me until Sunday. It didn't bother me until like, yes, he wants to focus on this and he wants to, but what are you, what are you, what are you trying to, it feels like he's trying to shield us from something.

Yeah. I mean, I, I would just imagine he's shielding us from not managing the brewers next year and not managing at all. I just, I don't think he's going anywhere. And maybe that's why if he does go somewhere else, if he ends up with the Mets or some other stupid team, like that's why it will hurt so much is because I feel pretty darn confident. He's not going to do that.

I don't necessarily feel that way with Giannis anymore, but Giannis, Giannis has talked about this. Like he's had comments about this and council hasn't. So I don't know if you, if you put that on council or the brewers or the brewers beat, not hounding them hard enough. I don't know.

That would make for a really long summer on the brewers beat. If every other day you were trying to ask council about his future, we kept giving, giving you the no sell answer, you know? So yeah, no, I don't think that they should have asked him any more than they did.

Yeah. Asking him at the end of the season makes total sense as you gear up for the playoff run. But I think that's where it is. Like with Giannis, we've always felt like it was possible with Greg. We just never, never have. And I still don't think like when I, when I talk about this out loud, I think of every tweet that I've ever seen Bretton Tosa tweet where he's super confident that he's not going anywhere.

Uh, and I want to believe that just as the, you know, the sports radio man in me is, you know, wants to make everything a topic. And so comparing Giannis and council is a good one. I hadn't thought about that. That was, that's pretty good. I tip my cap to you. I think I would be more violated if all of a sudden Craig council is managing the bets because I danced around it, uh, with you guys last week, but I still think there's something to all of this.

There's something to, you know, when I was saying like Kanna and Santana, Josh, what is he, what is he doing here? What are these guys? What are this team? And to go back to, like, I just think of all the years that under the council run, like 18 was our best shot. Um, 19, you know, they made it the farthest in 18. I feel like maybe that 19 team was, that 19 team was ridiculous. But then they lost the nationals 20 was COVID 21. The Braves were inevitable. I but, but at the time we didn't think that they were 2021. I look back, that's the only time in my freaking life I've ever mid season or late season, looked around at a Brewers team and be like, this is, this is, this has gotta be the year, right? Oh, 2014.

I felt like 14. Yeah. That was when I first, I said this before, but I first started at the fan and uh, they went to, they went to LA and Jimmy Nelson beat Clayton Kershaw and you know, we can break down these match up six ways to Sunday, but you just know, and it's the baseball playoffs.

I don't know that it matters. I don't know that what we've seen for six months matters. You know what I mean? Those series started and anything could happen. You know, one pitcher has an off night and the offense doesn't show up for a team and all of a sudden their series is, is over and their season is over. Um, so I I'm with you, but there is something about this team.

I don't know. And I also think, you know, it's time for Devin Williams to, to go wild mode for a couple of weeks and be unbelievable. Like I'm, I'm expecting big things as postseason from Devin Williams. I'm expecting him to be really, really good. Um, and he mentioned, you know, he's got some things to make up for in 2021 and this is really his first opportunity to pitch in, in a playoff run with what should be a pretty decent team. Um, so I, I don't know, my expectations are high for Devin Williams and I just know that Woodruff is going to shove in the playoffs because he's always done that even in his rookie year against the Dodgers, he gets the ball in game one against Clayton Kershaw and he was ready for it. So, um, the offense isn't perfect, but there are a lot of pieces to this team that I really like and it feels a little unlikely, you know, if it feels just a little like, why not the brewers? I saw that everybody's like, yeah, the sleeper team that I'm looking at that not a lot of people are looking at is this team in Milwaukee. I'll tell you, I'll tell you guys, something's brewing there. The, uh, the pitching is very, very good. And, uh, Craig council, uh, he certainly knows a thing or two. I, I, everybody's talking about the Braves or it's talking about the Dodgers or every song about the, uh, the Astros or the Orioles or the rays.

But I think, I think if you want to, if you want to take a deeper look, it's that Milwaukee Brewers team that, that makes a crime. Oh yeah. That's every other column. I saw Bob Nightingale picked him and everyone's in his replies like shit.

Like, come on boob. Um, no one wants Bob Nightingale to pick their team, but I, there is, again, something unlikely about them in a way that it didn't feel unlikely in 2020, 2021 felt more like, Oh, if they don't go on a long run this year, it's going to be a massive disappointment where I think we spent most of this season just thinking like, I think it just, they could, they could bounce. This is weird.

This is a weird year. They could go to the world series and it wouldn't surprise me. They could also get bounced this week and it'd be like, eh, funnier.

Well, how did that happen? Yeah. Diamond backs have, you know, two really good pitchers. That that's the interesting thing is the, the Brewers advantage is they're starting pitching. That advantage is not going to be as big against a team like the, like the Diamondbacks. It would have been against the Marlins or the Cubs. I think they still have the advantage starting pitching wise, but it's not going to be as massive. So their bats are, I don't know. They're not, I don't think they're going to be able to win these games, you know, as easily as maybe they would have been able to against some other teams.

So Arizona is an interesting matchup for that reason. You know, Yellich needs to produce is as simple as that. Yellich and Adamas. I mean, in 2011 Braun and Fielder didn't do shit and we got bounced.

Yeah. I think it all circles back to Adamas is as weird as that sounds. I know Yellich is the one with the money and he's the guy whose Jersey we all have. And he's our, our big star, but this offense goes as Willie, Adamas goes.

And I don't know why that is. I, I, it's just, it's the way that this team was wired when it came together in 2021. That's the way that the nerves and the everything crossed paths between everyone in the lineup.

And it's just like, this is gonna work through Adamas or it's not gonna work at all. So if Willie can have a nice post-season, I mean, Yellich just being on base, I've kind of given up on him hitting a bunch of bombs and being a big time run producer, but Contreras can do that and can it can do that. And, and if Adamas can do that, obviously I think this team can win some playoff series, but just like in 2011, yeah, Braun and Fielder show up. And I think in this, in this round, it's a little more spread out. I think it falls on Adamas, Contreras and Yellich and maybe a little bit of Kanna. I think it's that group mostly that needs to show up and produce.

Otherwise, I don't know if they have a shot. Do you think I'll regret not going to these games? Cause I want to do, I'm in my post-game show era. I mean, I, I, I could go to the games, but I want to do the post game.

I can't, I can't like, but it's kind of my, it's kind of what I do. I kind of need to do it. Do you feel that you want to go to the games or do you feel like you should be at the games because you live in Milwaukee and you shouldn't miss them? I could easily go to the game for seven innings and then be back at my desk after the game. I would do that. Can you get an office in the ballpark? I don't know.

I, I really flirted with getting a credential. I couldn't do it. I mean, I love, I love watching games at home personally. We're doing live post games on the Dan Cheney YouTube stream. Everybody don't you forget Dan Cheney YouTube stream, Dan Cheney football at home, baseball, just sports on TV is just the balls, man.

So I'm, I don't know. I've been to Bruce playoff games. I got to take my dad to the, to the NLCS in 2018. I got some tickets through work. That was, it was unbelievable. It was so cool. I mean, once you've been in postseason locker rooms with the team celebrating, it's like, why be a room in the stands?

How can I even peak at this point? It's a good point. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, do your brews post game shows? If, I mean, this is a, this is a question for your, your promotions department. You know, what kind of numbers are you pulling at these, these brewers post game shows? I will say this.

I will say this. If you do brewers post game shows, you need to, you need to do good ones. You need to, cause you, you know, you, you, you get off the rails so easily, but in the brewers post season, it'll be a little bit different. It's, it's hard to do a regular season brewers post game show. Yeah. So we did discuss that a little bit. Tim wants hot take Jake band from brewers post game shows.

Cause he always talks basketball. Well, can you hear that noise or not? Yeah. No it's my son playing matchbox. Yeah. I can hear it just a little bit.

Um, no, I know Tim's wrong. I speak for a lot of Bart Winkler show listeners. When I say that I love watching a baseball post game show and we're, we got good conversation about the brewers going and it's actually my favorite. When hot take, Jake comes in and goes, brewers, what are the, what are the brewers? What's just got dame?

Like that's we all, we all enjoy that. So don't, don't ban him. No. Well, looking ahead, uh, I think Monday, if the brewers advance, they play Monday Packers play Monday. Oh, next Monday. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Looking.

I just, I think, I don't know. I looked at the schedule for like a second, but I think that's the DS would start on Monday. Yeah. So it would start on Saturday. How, how wild are the baseball playoffs where we've just, we've been playing games for six months and then you, you lay out this week, the brewers could be eliminated by Friday. Season could be done. Well, we won the title with the bucks and I was like, Hey, this is two months of content and then the brewers lost to the Braves in like three afternoons.

Yeah. Like, well, there goes that Rogers again, the NBA, the NBA post season is so grueling. It's like, Oh, we just had October through March of BA of basketball. Now settle in for a second season. That's going to take, you know, what feels like six more months, but baseball it's like, Oh, you played 162 games and none of them are too important.

None of her, you know, three days, you know, three starts. That's what it comes down to, which I know we've talked about before, but it is just pretty wild. Well, good to see you. Good to see you too.

Life is good. Is this the first time I've recorded with you with where I haven't been wearing a hat. You look very formal. Were you on TV and you have this morning? I just throw a polo on and judged up my hair.

Wow. I yeah, this weekend I put my Oktoberfest to tire on. I had my German look, my big green hat with a feather. It's one of the very few times that I actually wear a hat. I thought about wearing it today, but I thought, no, but Tim brought up fest.

So I wish I would've, I would've worn it. It's still as great as it been or people like, ah, it used to be better. Well, people like you are always going to say that things were always better. I think it's still pretty great. It was cool. We had our morning show on our network, which is based out of Madison and it was pretty cool. A lot of people came to sloopies to see them specifically, but of course it's always like shoulder to shoulder in there at six o'clock. Whether there's a morning show there or not, like that's just how lacrosse is the Friday morning of fast is bars are open at six and it's packed by six 15, which is really cool.

And the weather is beautiful. And you know, Oktoberfest rules. If there's people listening to this, you're like, oh, what's that? What's that fest thing about? I should go check that out.

You absolutely should one year. Cause it's a blast. It's pretty cool. And, and lastly, UW stout and UWL played within an inch of their lives. It was like 45, 44 on Saturday at up on it was at home. It was at UWL. So that was really, that's great. Yeah.

They played, I don't know if it was two years ago or last year they played whitewater and it was within, again, within a point or two towards the entire game. So that's, that's pretty cool. And that works out because you know, UWL is a good team.

Winona state's the same way, but you know, these D3 or DT DT DT D2 schools don't often get a lot of shine. So it's cool. And the stadium's real full and people are telling people to understand about Colorado. Yeah.

People like students that go to Colorado the last 30 years. It's like going to a D3 school. Yeah. Your team sucks.

And then all of a sudden Dion Sanders is there. Well, you know, D3 with crowds. Yeah.

D3 schools in the state of Wisconsin are frigging good. I went to one lacrosse football game my freshman year and I thought, this ain't it. It's I mean, it's really not. If you, if you don't know the players and you don't love football, you know, it's because we wanted to be super fans like we were in high school, you know?

Yeah. I mean, it was, it was cool to, to, to cover, you know, I would go shoot a camera or do color commentary or whatever. Then you get to know the team a little bit more and that, and then you get invested because you're like, well, what the hell else am I going to do?

I'm here. I might as well want this team to win, which is the same when you cover a high school team. It's like, I don't know any of these kids. I don't care, but as long as I need to be here every Friday night, I guess I might as well take a little bit of interest, you know? Should I start doing Friday night lights post game shows? Uh, like, uh, like a, like a pigskin Roundup or something where you get all your listeners to chime in from area high schools, something like that.

He does, I think he does a show. Enjoy the week, bud. You as well.

Go pack, go take it easy on the floor. It's not that, it's not that big of a deal. I don't know. Robert Salas, way worse. We will have to have this discussion a separate time, but yes, I agree. I agree. Let's talk about the Milwaukee bucks momentarily. If we may, they had their media day on Monday and a interesting day. It was our first chance to hear from Damian Lillard. Uh, man, I just love looking at him in a bucks Jersey, Dame Damian Lillard.

This is going to be great. I think that, um, with, with the Celtic stuff that happened over the weekend trading for drew and that stinks, then there's no, there's no doubt about it. That is not the outcome we wanted when drew holiday is going to play somewhere else.

We don't want it to be there. Uh, so that stings and you know, a seven game series between the two teams might get a little crazy. Uh, I, I think they need help depth wise. And the other thing with Dame is like, I thought he had a lot of compelling points. First of all, he's had to be the superstar.

We're the, we're forgetting about this whole thing. Like the bucks have Dame and the Celtics have drew the bucks have Yanis, the bucks have Yanis Yanis playing with Dame. It's not just like, Hey, we got two great guys. Like, you know, a Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum thing. It's we got two great guys who are going to be picked for each other. We got two great guys who are going to be like, Damian's game is going to allow Yanis his game to explode and vice versa.

They're going to create more space for the other person. Damian Lillard is going to be in situations where he's not double teamed, where he's not triple team, where he's not the guy that has to handle the ball all the time, where he's not the main focal point. And I do agree with him that he will be able to, you know, have some help on defense or be able to help more on defense than he ever was in the past. So we're, we're saying he's this terrible defender and that wasn't his priority.

He can make that a little bit more of a priority. I just think that as excited as we were for Damian Lillard and he thought it was, that's why, even if you only saw his head on Saturday, like he thought that was pretty great. And I think one thing that he said about Milwaukee was when would Damian Lillard ever be here during the winter? And these guys don't leave their hotel. So what they know of Milwaukee is a bus from the third ward, a bus from the airport to the third ward and then, or downtown and then to the stadium. So they see like, sure, nice little downtown, but it's snow and cold and dark. Even if they go over there at five o'clock at night, it's, they don't see Milwaukee and Danes like, man, I saw the water and like, this place is kind of cool.

So that's great. That's the thing about these small markets is you don't go there much. Like how many people go to Portland in the NBA outside of a game? How many people go to Milwaukee, small markets, it's important. It's important to support small markets and the businesses of small markets, you know, just off the top of my head, there's a great small market in Nebraska, Omaha, and they have these Omaha stakes. If you ever heard of them, where if you go to the website, Omaha stakes.com and type in the promo code Bart, you can get a $285 package of meat for just $129 and, uh, and save even more with shipping.

So the deals right there, the filet mignons, the chicken breasts, the boneless pork chops, the burgers, the gourmet jumbo Franks type in Bart at the top in the search bar and support small, us, us, us, uh, you know, small markets have to stick together. So Damian Lillard, I thought one of the things that he had said was just thinking about himself and on the pick and roll. And when he was going through like the bucks offense, how do you, how do you, how are you going to stop the bucks offense? Obviously I'm a pick and roll player.

I played a lot of pick and roll in my career. And when I think about playing with him, I just, I was just trying to figure out how do you defend it? You know, I haven't played against a lot of coverages where teams aren't at the level of the screen, whether it's showing trapping or just being there to where I got to get a ball up. And I just, I can't imagine him wanting him to have the ball, you know, at the free throw line, coming downhill with an advantage and Chris on a wing and Brooke, you know, you got really, really, really good at it. And that's going to be what teams are going to have to figure out. How do you stop the bucks? Cause what they've always tried to do is like Yanis kick it out to shooters, but the shooters have been Rashad Vaughn and Mirza Teledovich and Nicola Miratic.

Well, what if you had Dame, what if one of the guys you kicked it out to was Damian Lillard and that's happening now. And so I think that's pretty great. Uh, Yanis Adetokounmpo was classic as always. Now remember when he had those comments this summer that like, they need to win or try to win, or I'm going to leave. He admitted on stage. He, I mean, he said it, Jim Orzarski asked about it. He said, Jim, I say this every year and we all know that, but I think that people need to, people need to, it's like, they see a headline where it says Yanis, and this goes back to, you know, just people that cover the league.

They see a headline and says, Yanis says this, what with, and they, they forget all context. He always says that kind of stuff. Now he's in a situation where he could sign now and that'd be great for us. Cause then we lock them up, but he could actually make more money if he signed next off season, he didn't like, he's not locked in. He didn't sign a contract today, but man, this is pretty close to the next best thing. You know, like, because money is not important.

A lot of fucking money is important. So I'm going to sign it next year. But no, I did it again. It doesn't, it doesn't make sense. It does not make sense for me to sign right now. I got to, you know, always look, what's the best for me and my family and for my situation. But at the end of the day, like I want to be able to walk back for the rest of my career, as long as we are winning.

So that's, I mean, that's the same that it's always been. He did, he did, like, he said the words, I'll sign it next year. So if you're worried about the supermax, he said, he'll sign it next year when he can get more money by doing it.

Then that doesn't mean he can't go back on that offer, but he did. He like, he spoke those words on purpose and he, he looked, he, the team's committed to winning. It's, it's so simple. And I, you know, John Horst, West Edens, they say the same thing.

They're like, Yana says this stuff. Everybody freaks out. That's what we say. We're committed to winning. We all want to win. You know, some organizations want to succeed. Some organizations want to profit. They want to win. Okay.

Now I don't know if winning an NBA cup counts for that winning, but the Bucks do want to win. Got some voicemails here from Doug. Doug is in Racine. Carl's plays voicemail line. Carl of ET.com backslash Bart. 402915BART.

Carl's plays, of course, with golf simulators that you can set up. Doug left a voicemail. Hey, Bart. Doug from Racine calling in to weigh my way in on the trade and the Drew part of it. I still think it was a great deal. I really liked the fact that he's gonna, this is just a match made for all time.

So, and Drew going to the Celtics. Yeah. So what, you know, they still got to beat us and I'm still gonna hate the Celtics and I just wanted to say it is a good trade and don't, don't let this get you down. This is awesome. So I'm also glad to see you're still doing national stuff and I'm really enjoying your show still and keep up the good work. Have a great day. Thanks. Bye.

All right. That was a nice voicemail from Doug. Doug apparently didn't think so.

Doug called me back five minutes later. Hey Bart, I'm calling back cause I didn't end that call the way I wanted to cause I didn't sound enthusiastic, but I can't wait for this season to start. The Bucks are going to dominate. This is going to be one hell of a season and I am really excited for the Bucks and I can't wait for it to start. So hell yes. Give me the Bucks season starting tomorrow.

It's going to be awesome. Bye. All right, Doug. There you go.

Redeeming yourself even though you did not have to. So we're excited. Things are good in Milwaukee. Things are good with the Bucks. They start practicing on Tuesday. The Brewers have a home game on Tuesday night. We're ready to see Corbin Burns tow the rubber again just after six o'clock and we will have the live postgame show after. Haven't talked too much about the football weekend either yesterday or today.

I don't know. The Bears are in deep shit. They are in panic mode.

They're going to have to start firing some people. The Packers being week one on their schedule really sent them into a tailspin. Vikings got to win. Patriots look bad. Niners, I'm still in the Survivor pool.

Next week is going to be tough. Jacksonville back on track. Buffalo, Josh Allen, Rommie's guy, looking good. Titans still being weird. So the Eagles surviving. It was a good football day. It was a good football weekend and excited for it to kick off here again next week.

Obligatory Taylor Swift mention. All right, you guys have a good one. Postgame Tuesday night of the Streamyard link up. You can join the party and that'll be on the Dan Cheney YouTube stream. Until then, Bonjour and we will talk soon.
