Muscle milk. Protein for all. Good afternoon, everybody. Yeah. Yeah.

You've been planning that. I actually just made a short. I made a short. Would you would you like to see my short? Yeah.

Yeah. I made a short With Claude. Here's my short. Welcome to the Winklerverse. I'm Bart Winkler.

It's got. What is going in my home? See, the smoke fills up my podcast studio. In my short, for those of you on the Dan Shaney YouTube stream, if you're not. I've shared it.

The problem with this video, as lame as the joke is. is, and this has happened on the show before. I've got this little hair here that looks like a booger. But it's not a booger. Yeah.

So I just I just recorded that and I just trimmed Whatever. Paulie Migg's here. Grant Bills is here. Afternoon. Great to be with you guys.

Grant is eating just like the diehards enjoy every time. My lunch time. Grant's a busy guy. I'm okay with it. I just always like, it's usually the call-up.

If I eat after, I'm going to get the burps during my show. And if I eat before, there's another show going on. What if my insight is needed and I have a mouthful of food? Which I guess is also a problem here, but it feels more manageable for whatever reason. You don't have to solo host or whatever.

Yeah. You can't, you can't maybe. have one time eating food. On Bill's show.

So you have to eat an entire meal on this. Yeah. I also needed to warm this up.

So that I don't have time to do that during Bill's show. But before that, no one cares about this. Yeah, well, also, that show you work on is available on terrestrial radio stations across the country. You have to log in to listen to me.

So you have to buffer Yeah, I uh I I don't I don't disagree. With what you've chosen to do here today. It's a bit. It's a recurring thing. Like, what's Grant, what's he working on today?

I got a fork and a knife and a piece of meat. Like. I don't know. What has all happened since we last spoke? The World Cup final is set.

England, I mean, when you make it, I'm getting real sick of this, like, okay. No, give me this in NFL terms. You know, that has been going on all cup. But that was as mala flour as it fucking gets with England. Yeah, but hold on.

I li I As a non-soccer consumer. But you, as a soccer consumer who would like it to become more popularized, isn't that like your way in, though? Isn't your way of saying, like, hey, this NBA draft prospect who I don't know, I don't know anything about him. Like, I'm not going to watch three hours of film. Who's his comp?

Yeah, but within the sport. But I get what you're saying. No one's ever going like, give me Golden State Warriors in New York Yankees terms.

Well, if they're trying to get into basketball, they are if they know the Yankees but don't know the NBA. Spain's good as shit, and so is Argentina, and so is France, and so is England.

Okay. They were the top four seeded teams. They ended up being the final four.

So can can you put that in NFL terms? Yeah, it'd be like if all the top seeds made the fucking championship rounds.

Okay, okay. I'm not. What the fuck? I mean, while you were watching the World Cup, I was watching Wimbledon. I mean, would you like a tennis breakdown of.

NFL terms of Of all that? I just I can't tennis, I just can't fucking watch tennis. I wish I could. I wish I could. I can't.

I can watch NASCAR before I watch tennis. That's because you're a simpleton. And I'm kind of out on golf right now. It's not that I'm out on golf, but normally I do. Get into every major and watch it start to finish.

And I just had not done that this year at all. Yeah. I don't know what the I tried golf as like a early teenager, both playing and watching and enjoying and it just never clicked.

Sorry to hear that, Paul. It's a bummer. I would rather like every sport, at least passively. Like, oh, I could turn on this NASCAR race. I can't.

I just don't like it or get it. Oh, I could turn on this golf event. Like, I can't. I don't, it's not, I don't know why that's entertaining. But.

The outlier there is pro tennis is great, so Is there advanced? Is there pro tennis focus or something? Do you scratch and it's good question? No, you do another sports. No.

I don't think so. If there is, I haven't found it yet. But. It's my there's not really a pro football focus anymore either, but Tennis is my main sport as an athlete. Was and still is, so.

We need an American, is the problem. I can't get into these Europeans. Where's Andy Roddick when you need him? I like the ladies. There's a lot of American women who are near the military.

Built like brick milk houses, those women are. Sure. Um So, okay, so the World Cup final set. I hope you guys find a nice watch party for it on Sunday. Two o'clock?

Is that right? If the smoke clears. The smoke is funny because I was driving a little bit today, and like I was turning on news statements. I wanted to hear people talk about the smoke. But then like by the when it's gone, it's just gone.

It's just like a hyper like, you know, sometimes things, and that's why. I have all these podcasts available. And sometimes people do go Listen to them, but these are so like. You do these YouTube videos, and it's like, oh, you could watch them anytime. Like, I got roped into season eight of Friends today because I had AEW on last night, and so TBS was my channel, and I turned it on this morning.

Joey was in love with Rachel, and I always thought that storyline was stupid. And then I was watching, I'm like, it wasn't so bad.

So I was I watched like four episodes of friends today Did you really? Yeah, like with commercials and the whole thing? The whole normal fucking thing. Wow. Yep.

I didn't even say, I'm watching this. If I want to watch these episodes, I can turn it on streaming and just watch them. I ain't gonna do that, cause I'd probably get more fucking shabby shots. That's a good take. Thank you.

Grant.

So World Cup, Giannis is being introduced right now. I think I'll look at it towards the end. I don't know how much I care. I'm sure something newsworthy will be said, or he'll do something, or because I got the 4:30 segment blocked off for Giannis' reaction tonight.

So, there better at least be something. I'll make something. Anything, whatever. Bobby Porter has always been a heedle. Yep.

He's always known to be, he's born to be a heedle. Um all-star game.

Well, let me say this about Portis and the whole heat thing. It's like when Pat Riley did his. statement about acquiring Yana's And Bobby Portis. He of course had to say something about the Bobby Portis aspect. And is that I think he's one of the Pat Riley.

You want to talk about a throwing in the deal. My goodness. They need players. They need players, don't they? They need players, but they don't need $20 million below-average players who are 31.

Like right now, like they would beg to get off that Nicola Jovich contract. They would love to turn Bobby Portis into like two or three serviceable $6 million players. Like the, I'm wondering who truly, because Pat Rowley put his statement with something to the effect of like, I think Bobby Portis is, you know, one of the better power forwards in the league. I mean, how do you fucking write that with a straight face? Like, you can't.

But in Milwaukee, he's not even a six-man. In Miami, he's one of the best power forwards in the league. Yeah, okay, fine. Heat culture is going to change the whole thing. But don't say that sarcastically.

You better believe that, spolster boy. You need to poo-poo that. Paul's a spo, Paul's a spoho. Yeah. Even as a Spoho, proud.

Oh breaking news! Brewers announced 2027 schedule. There's your 430 black. Wow, I'm not gonna ask. Later, Paul, finish that thought as a Spoho?

As a Spoho, even he cannot save Bobby Portis into being one of the best power forwards in the league. But seriously, if they could, the only thing that can save the Heat offseason at this point, and Grant, you said I was defensive as someone who doesn't think the Heat are a playoff team, or at least not an obvious, you know, not a top four seed in the East. Like LeBron go in there would Well, yeah, LeBron would be a top four team in the east, especially on a minimum. Like, that would be LeBron is like the messy of NBA.

Well, he's not good enough. He's not good enough. He's like the Patrick Mahomes of NBA. Oh. Or the Tom Brady of NBA.

Why? He's not good enough anymore for that comparison.

Well, then he's like the Matthew Stafford. Yeah, okay. There you go. People are going to like that take I had. I think Matthew Stafford is heavily.

Heavily overrated. Overrated. I disagree. I used to feel that way. Heavily.

Like his, like currently, or like his career arc? Currently. If he's overrated, that means you think the consensus has him where?

Well, that ESPN list had him number fucking three. Among quarterbacks, I did not see that. Jeremy Fowler's list? Yeah, which Ha ha. Like, when should I release this?

How about the Monday of All-Star Week? Every show, even mine. Talked about it. I would like to also say that I think, and maybe you have a question on this. But I don't know that the Bucs aren't a playoff team.

You don't think that So you're saying you think they are a playoff team? Let's not Dismiss that. All right, let's just. Are we wearing the same shirt? Not unless you support like my daughter's gymnastics club.

No. Oh. Um Let's start there. I had some that were tangentially there. I didn't know if I was going to start with Bucks, but let's just do it.

Okay. The Bucks as currently constituted. And for those of you that don't know, Paul's going to ask a question and then we're going to say maybe you will. With our reasoning involved. I shouldn't assume that.

Imagine buying your kid a toy only to find the batteries aren't included, or buying furniture but missing the tools to build it. Frustrating, right?

Odoo completely changes that. Odo is a complete, fully integrated business suite where all your apps actually talk to each other. And who in the Gary Wolfel comeback tour are, you know, as. are as connected to Peyton Watson as even what what the national reports are. Suggesting um So again, there's other things that can happen and honestly need to happen. But especially after watching Brayden Burries in Summer League, or at least reading about it or seeing the highlights and seeing the way the roster is currently. The Bucks are At least A play-in team.

In other words, they're at least a top 10 seed in the 15-team East. Mm-hmm or mm-mm. I'm going to say mm-hmm. I know I think a lot of these teams and like The national media disagrees and I agree with you. I'm drinking the Kool-Aid right now.

You say more, but I just wanna know you I agree with you.

Well, so who are the so who are the shitty teams? Because the Wizards are going to be better than they were. Presumably, if Trey Young doesn't sink them, yeah. The Hornets, you thought, but then they've done some stuff that's, I don't know. Pacers will be better.

Bulls are going to suck. Nets are going to suck. That's what suck. You know, it is that, okay, so it is tough. I can see why.

You would There'll be a lot of people that keep them out. Yeah. But I think that the Bucs um There's a sense of like. Freedom now with everybody involved in this. Taylor Jenkins is new.

Tyler Hero is new. Where is new? Burry's is him and new. That's another question they have about Burry's. Ament is new.

So it's a matter of how these guys jail together, but I could see them Like, sure, could they win 25? No, no, they're not just going to only win 25 games, though. Yeah, I don't think so either. They're not going to win 25 games. Maybe they win 35 games.

Like that, I think the floor is a lot higher. Yeah. Then a lot of people are gonna say And They'll look at it, and yes, the Giannis thing is huge, but also hashtag because it's the bucks. And I bitch about this and cry about this and whine about this all the time. And I spent two years doing it on the national radio show.

And I hope it resonated with at least somebody. But the way that the Bucs are treated by national media is different than every other team. There's an anger to it. There's a fierceness to it. Case in point.

Terry Roger is fucking gambling on games. And everyone's like, well, just the heat, he's gonna fucking whatever. Gary Trent Jr. gets a little more money than he probably should, and the whole fucking league is mad about it. First of all, The penalty is already Gary Trent Jr.

getting as much money as he should. Yeah. So what the fuck? It's like you bought a house you can't afford. You need to be penalized.

You're already penalized. You're going to go into massive debt. You're gonna fucking go into bankrupt. You're going you made a mistake. That's the penalty!

Don't penalize them further.

So because it's the box Yeah. Dare, you know. But whatever.

Okay, so fucking... Dipshit McGee says fucking 25 wins! Who cares a fuck? Yeah. Now I'm all fired up.

Well, the Garret I mean the Gary Trend Junior thing is I mean your your your analogy about the house would be like Obviously the rules being different. That you had a pre-agreement with the previous homeowner. And they're like, Well, if you just wait to buy it in two years Then you can buy, you can be. I mean, again, it's not like we're acting like this is Shohei Otani deferring a contract. That's fucking bullshit.

Okay. This is Gary Trent. Am I losing my mind? This is Gary Trent Jr. It's not like LeBron did this.

Shay didn't do this. Jalen Brunson. And Victor Webb and Yama take less money. That's not anything. You're giving more money to a shitty player.

And we want more repertoire. I don't. What the fuck? I mean, the joke, though, it's not necessarily. Not true.

is like the punishment is that you're paying a back up maybe your third string shooting guard $16 million a year for the next four years. And listen, if if they If they become like clutch sports, if the Bucs become clutch sportses, Rich Paul is like. You know what? I really like dealing with the Bucs. Like, if they go in and they do get Peyton Watson from the Nuggets in a sign-in trade.

And that, by the way, Watson is also a Rich Paul clutch client. And they do that because, and they get a good deal from Denver. At least partially because they overpaid a different clutch client in Gary Trent Jr. Like, that's good business.

Now, I disagree with you a little bit, Bart, because it's different than Wembanyama taking less money or Brunson taking less money because that's within the allowable rules. If it was A paper trail of cap circumvention in the NBA. Like, that is different. Having said that, like, the way I saw it framed up is like the only way this gets complained about, like, if the NBA Players Association, is gonna like stand by. While one of their people...

Has money taken away from them that both parties agreed to, like, who who's worse off for this? Stand by ten toes down. I hate that fucking phrase. Like, the the Bucks are the ones now overpaying for this. But again, it's like, if if this was an agent favor, As long as it wasn't agreed to two years ago or last year, which, you know, you can.

which is what that's what's being investigated is when did they agree to this four-year 64?

Now? A year ago? 20.

Okay, so then that's the issue. The issue isn't the Bucks. No, no, what? The issue is clutch sports. But clutch sports is more untouchable.

Than the Milwaukee Bucks. And that sucks. How does Adam Silver let that happen to his league? It's ba I mean, there's a lot of things. I mean, the the Kawhi thing is obviously a joke for the league and there's a lot of Things that can be said about it.

But the point is: he's distracting us over here with: okay, if you're the third team, you get three ping-pong balls, and if you're four, you get two. And here's the shiny all-star game, blah, blah, blah. Shit that no one fucking gives a shit about.

Meanwhile, agents are fucking running the league. Yeah, oh, they, yeah, they, of course, they are. That's a problem. Yeah, but again, like if if that is going to be the reality. And if you can do a Peyton Watson sign in trade because Rich Paul likes John Horst.

All right, like That's that's where you make these these back scratches payoff. It's like, hey, we'll overpay this client. Try to get this other client over to us. Greg, you haven't said enough.

Well, I was just going to say, on that specifically, teams when they're tanking and they're not competing. They use that as an opportunity to take bad contracts from other teams to get assets, right? Like, we'll take on a bad contract for a pick. Isn't this kind of the same? Oh, we're tearing it down, we're tanking.

This is a good opportunity. We'll use this as an opportunity to, you know, suck off an agent. Curry some favor. I'm showing B-roll. of Giannis uh taking to the podium.

By the way. Oh, he wore sleeves, unlike Jason Tatum. That's nice. At a whole different event. The first Giannis quote that I saw was.

Quote: I always had huge respect for the heat organization. Bart, be ready for this. You always hear about heat culture. I was curious what makes them so unique. That's such bullshit.

They beat your ass. They fucking beat your ass. in the playoffs multiple times. What the fuck? What the fuck?

Is this comparable though? Like having. Bucks beat. Here is this the equivalent of Brewers beat going to Chicago for council. Yeah, I don't have no problem with it if that's what you're asking.

Not a problem with it, but I mean, is it like. You know, is the equivalent. It's like, I mean, there were. Local TV news in Milwaukee doing stuff when the Cups were the World Series. Which council, by the way, like the fact that Kurt and Todd and Adam went down there to cover that press is like, the fuck?

You guys are here to ask me questions. Like, hey, Kurt. That made no sense. What? Like, Milwaukee covers.

Like, there's a lot of people in Illinois that get those TV stations in the first place. Yeah. I mean, Ted Perry was outside fucking Wrigley Field for the 2016 World Series, and he wasn't the only one. That's what I was referring to: Milwaukee stations covered. The Cubs World Series.

Yeah, counsel he acted like they fucking got on a jet and went to Titan. They drove the very short distance. The same reason that you have taken this job. Because it's right around the corner from home, is the same reason the reporters are also just going to drive down. Like, they're going to come cover the press conference, Craig.

I mean, imagine if it was like, hey, I like it because it's close to home. How the fuck did you get here? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What if Giannis has the same reaction with name? Like.

What? You're not supposed to be. I would be. If I was Giannis and I looked at name, I'd be like...

Okay. If I'm Craig and I see Adam, I'm like... Yeah, of course. But if I'm Yannis, I see name, I'm like. Oh.

Fuck. Didn't I just are you?

So this means you're. Are you covering? Like, what the fuck is that? What's your job now?

Well, let's. Miami's far away. And I say this as someone who just said to the Bucs being at least a 10-seat in the play-in. And I think Eric should be there.

Well first off, I was gonna say like, okay. You're you you you run the athletic. Where is Eric Name and his coverage getting more clicks to your website by covering Giannis or by covering the Bucks? this year, which Keep in mind, Name has the in with Giannis, can presumably. Can let, I mean.

Should whatever. That was. I'm going to do heat post games this year. I haven't announced that yet. Are you I was thinking about this recently.

Are you as excited for I wasn't two weeks ago and I am now. Are you as excited for. the the Giannis Bam Heat to play in Milwaukee this year. I wasn't and now I'm like, I wish this game was tonight. I have to watch.

Yeah, cause it's. Because it's a no-lose situation for us. We're not supposed to be good.

So if he comes up here and beat us, it's like, all right, good job. You did what you're supposed to do. But oh, if Milwaukee beats him, it's such a, yeah, it's so fun.

So fun. As long as it's not like the second game of a back-to-back. Do you think, like, is that a? I know we've tangent off our tangent. I wouldn't, I would not go to the first one.

I don't want to see the tribute. But who's going to be? Is it maybe Jake going to be our, you know, Brett? Who goes and sits right behind the Cubs' dugout and just booze Council mercilessly? Like, Brett has not given that up, dude.

I love it. He's so gentified. I know, I love it. I think the fact that that should carry in perpetuity, it makes it better every year that passes that it's like. Cause because I promise you.

Council doesn't like not hear or see that and wonder like still? Which makes it better that that would be the reaction, though. Like, you're still cheer, whatever, man. Just have a good time at the ball game. Craig on the 10th seed, I wouldn't pick him to be a play-in team.

But I think it's very much on the board. I think you can make a lot of hay. By having a good coach. A deep roster with lots of guys and trying really hard. You're not going to win playoff series like that?

Yeah. But you can win a lot of regular season games. I think Taylor Jenkins is really good. um he's no he's no eric spolstra no Not even close. Welcome to the Spohos.

But I think Taylor Jenkins will establish something that night to night is. Is going to be a coherent basketball product. Lots of motivated, excited players. And I think in this current iteration of the NBA, you can make a lot of hay there. And if things go right, sure, they can be a playing team.

What you said reminded me of what the Suns were thought of as a year ago. Which is like, oh, they stink. Like, they like Dylan Brooks is your big offseason. And then, like, they just tried really hard.

Okay. You know, made the playoffs as an eighth seed, um, won their play-in game. Um, and got in with like Devin Booker and stuff. I mean, the Celtics were Jalen Brown, it is very good.

Well, not according to a lot of the NBA, but like the Celtics weren't some all-star studded cast last year. Derek White, and they have some more experienced players, but that's a team that just locked in and got a two-seed.

So, can the Bucks do a shittier version of that? Lock in and try to be a playing team. I mean, how many games did they win last year? 38. Yeah, 32.

Jesus, is that it?

Okay, fine. How about this?

Okay. Over under last year? Over under 32 wins for the Bucs. Over it. I'm going over.

Good question. And if you're going to buy a jersey, who is it? Burry's? Hey, hold on, hold on. Let's get the grand answer, over under first.

Over is my first instinct, but. Yeah. The answer to Bart's question, you know, you get to buy one bucks jersey. for your seven-year-old or for yourself for whomever. Um The answer is Brayden, especially after Summer League.

The answer should be Burry's. Or mm-mm.

Well, they'll sell some hero jerseys, but who are you buying a jersey for tonight? for yourself or your family or your whomever.

Well, I want somebody that I know is going to be around for a long time. And the Bucs have made a commitment to Gary Trent Jr.

So I think I'm buying a GT5 jersey. GTJ five. Mm-hmm. I think I'm doing that. Grant, who's the answer to the Jersey question?

Jerseys are way too expensive, but I guess if you were to give me a voucher, I'd get a Braden Burrys jersey. How much did you guys watch of Bury's I've I watched like no Summer League. You probably won't be surprised. I watched every second.

Well Monday night Monday night I watched Uh raw. With my boy. And then Tuesday we watched the all-star game. Which first one to score wins for the last 10 years. But don't complain about it because then Manford will be like, Maybe we'll play with a bigger ball in the all-star game, or maybe we'll make the bases shorter, or make them halfway, or we'll put the pitcher back just in the all-star game.

I don't want to complain too much about how lack of competitive the all-star game is because I don't want it to change because it's the most pure sport. As I said the other day, When you go to the plate, you can't try harder. And you can't try less hard. You're just at the plate. Contreras makes me wonder sometime, but I agree with your overall premise.

I have a different Bucks question. Mm-hmm. I'd be a different brewer's question, excuse me. Four brewers, may I?

Well, anything else on the box? Let me just say, Burries, and I always try to formulate my own. Opinions, I'm careful on what I consume because I don't want it to be influenced or whatever else. And very admirable of you. I really, I don't say that to, I just being genuine.

Like, I really, that's very important to me that it's not like I just regurgitated this thought. But then, if my thought aligns with other people's, okay, that happens. Similar, like a joke, like Bart, you say you sometimes you want to make a joke on Twitter, like, oh shit, like, four people already did that. Mine would be like, I watched just a little bit of Brayden Burry's and I'm like. Oh shit, he might be Devin Booker.

And now, and I've seen like one or two mentions since coming to that conclusion that have mentioned Devin Booker, but I'm like. Boy, like you'd watch some of the stuff that he does. And by the way, Booker was picked right around that 10 spot as well in Booker's draft. I think 10, 11. But it's like.

Man, he's exciting to watch. And by the way, when you get a guy who passes the too good for Summer League, Threshold. Very important. Very important. And if Burry's does go back, like there's two things that are fun to watch for me in Summer League: one is like the rookie who becomes too good to play.

Burries did that, which Know Aaron Peterson did that for the jazz. DeBansa did that for the Wizards. Like, oh, well. You guys, this is not for you. Like, go sit out.

But they're the number one in two picks. Um meanwhile like the fifth pick like like woggler like Sucked. You know, and like there's well, who's the was it? Caleb Martin? Did you see him?

Caleb Wilson? Who did the Bulls take? Yeah, Caleb Wilson. Oh, yeah, Martin. Yeah, uh, he's like, I love this shit.

I'm gonna play every game. I love that quote. I mean, if you're a Bulls fan, you should be all for that. I'm with you on rookies. Like, who's the guy who went to the jazz?

Darren Peterson. Yeah. You know, well, he didn't try in college because those games didn't matter.

So you have to go back to high school. And, you know, now in summer league, well, this isn't for him.

So, God forbid he tries and plays in a real basketball game and applies himself.

So, which is just wait for the NBA games for him, take a couple years without playing basketball where he feels compelled to try. That's unless they're two games under 500, then that game probably doesn't matter, or it's a back-to-back. No, I agree with that take, and I'm always very leery of. Like I didn't like Camboozer either as a three-pick, but I would. Here's like my asterisk, and none of this matters.

for the box or whatever, but like I was really apprehensive in the Anthony Edwards draft to take Anthony Edwards because I'm like, I'm just not sure he isn't just Dion Waiters. You know, it's like just a two-guard, like, you know, athletic guys who aren't really like basketball players, but they can just jump out of the gym. And that was obviously a horrendous, stupidly, stupid, horrendously stupid thing to think or say with about Anthony Edwards.

So I'm like, you know what, I'll hold out for Darren Peterson, who then in Summer League looked like he was too good for Summer League. But here's the other thing I was going to say. Last thing about Burries at Summer League. Um You'll really, I think you'll just either just hate this thought or whatever, or you'll mock me for it. But I did like an analysis of the three games that Burry's played.

Okay. Which is a really noisy, small sample. You always try to avoid noisy, small, small samples. But I wanted to see what other lottery picks in the past 10 years. Who's the unemployed one between us?

Well, you did a fucking analysis. I love that, but this is like my fun. Like, this is like, I would do this, I would avoid sleep so I could do an analysis on Brayden Bury's. I know. And, um Essentially, there's only four guys who you could say who were lottery picks in the past 10 years.

who are comparably like As He had one turnover. Burries did, despite having all these assists and this like true shooting percentage of whatever it was. It's Cade Cunningham. Paulo Bencaro.

Okay, that would be fantastic. You're talking about two number one overall picks. Jalen Green. Yeah. Yeah.

Still a number two overall pick, you know, but he's okay, I guess. And then Mark Helfoltz, who of course the shit just was Went off the rails for multiple reasons for faults. But those are three number one picks and one number two pick.

Well, his whole form got all strange. Remember that? He had like a.

Some type of surgery, and then his shooting form, Fultz's shooting form went to shit. But anyway, long uh, Burry's was really good.

So there, there's, there's the fun. And that would be my, my jersey if I was to get one. I want to play a couple voicemails if I can. They're short, so I thought we could get him in on the mm-hmm. Remember, voicemails are brought to you by Carl's Place, 402-915-B-A-R-T, 402-915-2278.

I got one from Greg in Michigan. It's long. How's he doing this? Good lung capacity.

So last team. Mr. Positive. How Boom, chocolate locker. Everybody go for your dreams.

Ah Wow, two howls. All right, thank you, Greg. Man, I can't believe you didn't save that for national perspective, but thank you for doing it now. Oh, I'll get it. Carlos will get it too.

All right, good. Craig Thompson, here's try one. Burt H. Craig Thompson. You may remember we used to perform such great shows as Whatever.

This sucks, so I'm gonna try again.

Okay, and Craig Thompson take number two. Bert is Craig Thompson. Dave is calling to give you my World Cup prediction. Let's see, we've got England And According to the majority of the majority of the six. But I got to do this before I start.

Univized stuff from Oh man, I shouldn't have taken those. Edibles. Anyways, maybe I'll call back. Maybe I'm just, you should have a good lamp over this.

So talk to you later. All right.

So thank you, Greg. And thank you, Craig. And thank you, Carl's place. And he must have been on the happy place M promo code BAR25. Percent off.

I do have, if you do want to take a glance. If you want to take a glance, I have a image to show you. Take a glance, take a glance, take a glance. Take a glance on me, and it will not load. I thought it would load, but it did not load.

It's just the brewers, the schedule. Who do they open with? Fucking angels. God, I was going against the Athletics or the Meritors. Yeah.

They open at home against the Angels. For the first time since 1996. Sucks. And by the way, that game is on March 25th. March 25th.

No, I just, that's not okay. On Peacock? Ha ha ha. And then guess what? Then they go to Atlanta.

No, they play at home in Atlanta. Oh yeah. Then they host or then they go to the White Sox in Early April, so those games are getting rained out. That'll be fun. Um, I think that's Final Four weekend.

Oh yeah. Then I go to Toronto. They go to New York twice. The Yankees? Yeah, you go to the Yankees in April.

And then so who so if the Yankees are That means we get Boston at home. Because it's been alternating.

So Boston comes here in September. You can also see the Astros. Um How about that Lance McCullers deal? The Tigers, the fucking. Do you want to know anything else when the Cubs play?

I think if they want, if they do, are you talking to me or just the audience? Because I have a home game on my birthday. For maybe the first time in 10 years. And it's against the fucking Cubs. Is it a weekend series?

Wednesday, May 19. Oh, that's good. That's good, actually. Weeknight series are better against the Cubs. Yes.

Yeah, how many weekends do the Cubs come here? It may be, it may be fucking zero. It is. It's zero. Wow.

So they only come here twice or three times? Twice. May and And we don't play them on wow. When we go to Chicago, that's not a weekend either. Hell yeah.

What's up with that? Do you think White Sox famous? Do you think we can invade the White Sox? Kamiski or great or guaranteed or? The rate.

Low and depot, is that Miami? I don't know. That is interesting. That's a talking point. Grant, that's a talking point.

That is a great talking point. Opening with the Angels. I can bitch about that for five minutes tonight. And you can say. Are the Cubs Ducking the brewers weekends.

I'm going to frame it to make it like the Cubs are ducking us. I'm going to say, sources tell me. Cubs pleaded with Brewers. not to have games on weekends at Wrigley because of the fans coming down.

Well, I'm actually very disappointed that I'm the one to say this because I've been on the opposite side of this talking point with you guys. Are the Brewers actually opening their season on March 25th against the Angels? Oh, yeah, this isn't even happening.

So like Grant is just putting the pieces together of what, I mean, it's like, oh, yeah. You're the one, Bar, you're the one who has convinced me I should start planning for this to be a strike-shortened year. What was I thinking? The schedule's not fucking happening. They're not gonna play on my birthday.

The last time they were supposed to play on my birthday at home was 2020. And that didn't happen. Oh. And I have a magnet upstairs because then I went to the shop and they were selling Brewers' Yankees. May 19, 2020.

And I bought it for $1.99 as a memento. Actually they may have played at home this year, but it was against the Cubs I didn't go. No, it was at Chicago. Yeah, they never played home on May 19th. For what it's worth.

Your Buffalo Sabres, their schedule also came out today. They're going to Chicago in September. That seems like a colour.

Well, it could be September. The NHL schedule is starting in September, which is also strange. And Monday Night Raw is coming. September 28th. To I serve.

And Nosebleeds are $700 each. I want to take my kid to SmackDown in Green Bay next Friday. Tickets are like 200 bucks. Just to get like a get-in price? Yeah.

Yeah. I'm very happy to see their Downward trend. And he, you know, he's like. I can't now. If I take him and it's not someone who can high-five a wrestler, he's going to be pissed.

Yeah. That's all he ever talks about is I want to high five a wrestler.

So he has three syllables on wrestler? He does. That's cute. But I thought you were, at first, I was going to tease you because, like, you should know better. Athlete.

I want, Daddy, I want a high five of Wesselo. And that's that's great. That's how he sounds. That's great.

Now, is that a speech impediment? I'm not sure. He's he's young. Oh, he also said. What did he say today?

He said Something about We were talking about YouTube. Oh. And he's like. Oh, I said, oh, I know what I said. I said, Tim, I said, you have the most beautiful face.

Oh, because he's got pictures all over our house. And I said, you have the most beautiful face. Mommy, and I want to share you with the world. And then he says, then how come I'm not on the internet? And I said, oh, we don't want to actually put you on the internet.

We think you should be able to grow up offline like mommy and daddy did. And then he's got his other friend who... The parents always make collages of vacations to a song on Instagram, and they're nice, but that's just not what we do, you know, each their own. And he goes, well, he gets to be on the internet. And I go, I don't, we can't be on the internet.

You can't be on the internet. He goes, yeah, I want to do a podcast with you. Oh. And I'm like, fuck. Cause goddamn, goddamn, Grant, Paul.

If I just pivoted. To where the Winkler verse was me and my kid three times a week talking sports. Yeah. We're elevating. Yeah.

We're elevating. We're a thing. We're... I'm back in. I So Child actors exist.

I mean, they never grew up normal, but they exist. I can't do it. I think there's levels to... We mostly agree on this. We do.

I think it would be Okay to do a sports pod with them. occasionally. Could you just do it on podcast form? There's no video. Yeah.

But then again, I That might not achieve his goal of being on YouTube or on whatever.

Well, what if he grows up to be a YouTuber? Like these kids want to be. That might be the only job that exists. I know. We're all going to be producing reels for each other.

That's all we're going to do. The economy is going to be a reels-based economy. Is it not already? I'm telling you. To what you're doing.

He wants to be on the internet, but he's not aware of the Bodie and cone roller types that are going to make his life just fucking like, God damn it, not today. Like, I just wanted to share a Packer's take and now I'm hearing from these people.

Son, do you know how much time dad spends on the internet being teased?

Someone said to me, Are you aware that no one likes you? Yes, I am. Painfully aware. Painfully aware. All right, well I'll let I'll talk to my wife.

Um, brewers, what do you got on the on the crew? Grant I No, you talked about this because I heard you talk about it. Um But I want to take a step back, you know, now that we're removed from that. All-star game situation and like Lance McCuller's topic? No, it's not.

Hmm.

Well, okay, I actually kind of have a Version of that, but I want to ask this one first. Putting aside any like hometown bias or whatever, I was like, it is, it is absurd that the brewers had two all-stars or mm-mm. Put away your bias, but it's like objectively absurd. Mm-hmm. Yeah, they had other guys that were capable of beating that guy.

But it's not because, well, they have 59 wins, they deserve more. It's because Bryce Terang should have been there. I saw Hoag's thing that he posted like the starting lineup, and he said, here's nine guys who Bryce Terang has a better fan grabs wins above replacement than. Yeah, he's top ten in the NL and he's top five if you take out pictures and showhei. It's like, what do we do?

Only in baseball, though, could you have a starting lineup in the All-Star game and not know who some of these guys are? It is a strange thing. I mean, who didn't you know? I don't know that fucking Lopez guy. Yeah.

Well but are you saying like like you would recognize Lopez, if like you watch past him, is that what you're saying about know him? There's for let me look at the box. Or you would never heard his name. I mean, I follow baseball, I play fantasy. Um I don't know who Ozzy Albiaz's?

Not taking that bait.

Okay, maybe I do know all these guys. But there's enough people watching that. Like there's enough people watching. The first baseman for the Yankees is Ben Rice. Ben Rice is far from a household name.

Yeah. Okay. Yep. Shaylang. See that guy?

Shaylen Galiers. But then the NL lineup is like Schwarber, Soto, Freeman, Abrams, Muncie, all these Dodger Philly, Dodger, Philly, Dodger, Philly, Dodger, Philly. By the way, we did, Grant. I won't put you on the spot and ask you directly, but I will tell you that. In taking me up, the third person that pitched in this game is a guy named Parker Messick.

Mm-hmm. What the fuck is that? Who you don't know Parker Messick?

Okay. No fucking chance. Yeah. Parker Messick. Grant, during Take Neut to the Paul game, I think this was episode three.

I think this is the one last, it was last week's. And we did like the 1990s Midsummer Classic, trying to guess, you know, who would, who was named to an all-star game in the 90s more than five times, five or more times. Sure. And I think Partially to what Bart is saying though is like It's easy to look back and say, like, of course, you know, who these guys are because it's nostalgic and it's 30 years ago and it holds a place and a time. But Like the 28 or so guys who had done five or more all-star appearances are like.

Guys I I would love to know like the 25 years from now version of Name the 2020s all-stars who made five or more appearances. Like, will they have the same level of like. Of course Roger Clemens and of course Barry Bonds and Tony Gwynn and Mark McGuire and um Greg Maddox, and you know, it was also the same guys were in the all-star game. I mean, this is basically what you said, but I'm. It was always the same guys.

For whatever reason, in baseball, it's always new guys. It's always like. 40 first-timers have made it this year. I don't know what it was. Is it injuries?

Why is that heavy? Time up for bigger. Being consistently good in baseball is extraordinarily hard. Pitchers, it's usually because of injuries and just you reach out. I mean, if I if I had to only succeed at my job three every ten times, I'd be a all-star too.

The uh The you know, Corbin Burns was elite and now just his arm doesn't work anymore. Brandon Woodruff, sadly, Brandon Woodruff, too. But like, it's also like, hey, you reached 30 as a pitcher. Like more often than not, you're done, or at least you're certainly not an all-star afterward. And then hitting is just absurdly difficult nowadays.

Like it is a different thing to hit a pitch in 2026 than it was in the mid-90s when these guys are making all-star games. And they had better stats. They had better raw, like batting average stats and stuff in the 90s, partially because of the juice, but also because of pitching was just different. Like it was just an easier thing to do, an easier thing to hit. It's hard to hit a baseball.

Just ask Bryce and Stadies hitting 240. Didn't stop him from being an all-star with Bryce Durang. I don't know who Bryce Enstadies is. I don't think I know who that is. Plays for the Phillies.

Come on. I don't think I know that. Wait, so you know Parker Messick and not Bryson Stott? I didn't say I knew Parker Messick is. He did.

Parker Messick's an AL guy, though. Like, that's not, I'm not expecting everyone to know who Parker Messick is. How do you? Because they just played Cleveland like three weeks ago. The Brewers did.

I don't really watch that much. Race and studies. Yeah. Starts. Start.

Stop. I have some Giannis quotes.

Okay. These are good. On the jersey change. Uh he leaves that to Milwaukee out of respect. It's almost kind of like having closure mentally and emotionally.

That number meant a lot to me, and seven looks so fresh and clean. Uh I would say that's a 10 to 10 quote. I'm happy to hear that. Tim. Giannis says he wants to be coached hard by Spo.

I rather you tell me the ugly truth than a beautiful lie. I'm excited to be coached by him. I know he will get the best out of me. I need him to push me and tell me the truth. Hot take, is Giannis that coachable?

Hasn't been. Do you think do you think he'll stop showing up three hours late for every plane ride? Eric Spolstra is a you want me to fucking fight you merchant with Jimmy Butler. Do you know how much mileage he's gotten from that, by the way? Oh, he coaches guys hard.

Remember when he told Jimmy Butler, what do you want me to fight you on the sideline? Yannis on what he likes about Milwaukee, Miami, talks about the great warm weather, but says, I don't like those. What do you call them? Geckos, Geicos, iguanas? Those guys have to stay away from me.

I don't like those.

So, the humble foreigner act doesn't play well when he's not your guy, in my opinion. It is funny how you read that, and I wasn't endeared by it at all. No, not at all. And heat fans are going to be like... We fucking gotta sh dress up as iguanas down to the game and then Yannis can be like, oh shit, dude, he's gonna fucking look at us and maybe we'll get to breathe the same fucking air as Yannis and Dana Kung Pole.

Okay. No, it sounded like this, bro. Dude, I was in a fantasy league with my buddy in Miami and like all of his Miami friends.

Okay. Baseball. But and one night I just got so fucking drunk. and just text every one of them and tell them he's a piece of shit. And then my buddy's like, so you're probably not.

going to be in this league anymore. And I'm like, you're damn right. Tim? I don't want to be in there anyway. By the way, Grant, um Bryson start.

He was in all I mean his numbers are terrible. Yeah. I'm confused.

Okay. I was furious the entire time I was watching Tuesday night because. Terang should have been there. This thing normally wouldn't bother me, but it was ridiculous. And it's Philly Dodger, Philly Dodger.

And then in between innings, it's like. Hey, you know. You know, Freddie Freeman's got a family, right? Yeah. Look at his kids.

Don't you love Freddy? Man, fuck Freddie Freeman. I can't stand, not personally, but like in a sports sense. Like, I'm not. I want to say this too.

When they do in-game interviews. I think it's great. You get to learn about these guys. And you get like a sense of who they are. The problem with the in-game interviews is Joe Davis is the one doing the in-game interviews.

So, Kyle, tell us what it's like to be a professional ball player. I've got a 3-2 count here, jackass. Can I fucking focus up? How about that derby last night, huh? Yeah, hey, you were in the home run derby.

What was that like? Here's in-game interviews, they're so much better when the player's in the dugout. They should always do the player in the dugout because then you get the moments where they're reacting to what's going on. And, and this is somewhat important to me, it works. Like half the time when they're talking to someone playing the field, they don't really know whether the player can hear them because the player's not really listening because they're playing.

Torvo is fucking with his thing the whole time. I should have put it in my other ear. Did you see that story about the World Series? In 2016. Oh yeah, how they wanted to Game seven was going into extra innings and there was that little rain delay, which Jason Hayward motivated the team.

Fox wanted them to say, just cancel the game and we'll pick back up the next night in prime time because they wanted one more night of juice. Anyway, did you have a Brewers one?

Sorry, was there that it's objectively ridiculous that the Brewers' second-best record in baseball had two all-stars? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I didn't really watch the home run derby. Was that anything to talk about? I didn't watch it either.

It's on Netflix. I don't have it. It was more ridiculous, Paul, that the one all-star they had that actually played was a guy who didn't even really have that good of a first half. Yeah. Contreras.

He's your he's like your least favorite. That's not true. Don't put that on me. It seems like alleged on me. Because you know, Bart, you know this, you know how listeners are.

They they they hear a long Segment about William Contreras, and then my name comes up. Oh, yeah, Grant fucking hates William Contreras. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm just looking at my clock. I believe it is.

Go ahead. No, it is time for another story about my kid. who you won't put online, but of whom you're happy to talk. We were watching the begin.

So we did watch the beginning of the Derby. And Wilson Contreras is who we saw bat. And then they showed William Contreras. Not wearing any brewer stuff. And he goes.

Hey, that's a brewer, daddy. And I go, what? He goes, that's a brewer. And I go, you're right, that's Contreras. And the look in his face.

I don't think he's ever been so proud of himself. Anyway. You can find that more on Winkler and Sons dropping on Saturday mornings. Uh sons? Yeah.

Yeah, it's Winkler and My Son's Podcast. Oh, it's a possessive. Oh, it's all about where you place that all-important Winkler and Sun. And speaking of the Major League Baseball schedule, the All-Star game is set to be at Wrigley next year.

Well, now I kind of want there to be a lockout all year. That'd be really funny. That would be the silver lining if we missed time.

So, I need, I want to go to that as a press-credentialed member.

So, I got one year to find a job. They don't credential Winkler versus I don't know. I don't know who I'm on brewers. Huh? What about lockdown brewers?

Okay. Yeah, I don't know. Do I have to be like, I'm part of the Blue Wire network? Yeah. Well, I could probably get a lot more credentials.

I just really haven't. The one thing, the one thing I've tried is the fucking shareholders meeting because I wanted to be on the field and not in the stands. And they turned me down. Yeah. They don't just let anybody cover those games.

I might go back up for that and do a little walking with Winkler in the parking lot before the shareholders meeting. That was fun when he did it for the Brewers opening day. You gotta put Green Bay. You gotta put money on LeBron planes somewhere next year. You gotta put a hundo down.

Where are you putting it? Miami. Um Pat Riley said, this is one of the quotes I just saw, about After the Pat Riley, after he'd acquired Giannis, quote, We landed the plane, and now there's another one we have to land.

Okay. He should have. See, this is why he's washed. He should have said something like, We landed the plane, but the runway's not closed yet, or something like that. Oh, even worse.

We landed the plane.

Now we have to land the other plane. Like, he's washed. The heat are not winning shit with it.

Well, the question is: why hasn't LeBron said anything? Why? Yeah, well, he was waiting until the World Cup's over. for maximum attention. You should mention this because I think it's super interesting.

And I think I sent this to you guys both last night. But the Steve Kerr comment from his car is whatever, because he can just be. I'll Steve Kerr about it, but Did the PTI podcast miss Mistype/slash. Yeah, they labeled Steph brings LeBron to Warriors or something. Yes, they did.

And also, by the way, like, did you see the clip? I'm sure you did. We see all the same stuff of. Shams talking to Iman Shumpert. And Schumpert's saying, look, well, and Kaming is going to is on the Lakers.

And Shump's like, that's not yet. We can't say that yet. Like, it was like. There's all of these things, all these pieces that are being waiting for us. Maybe it's LeBron.

I don't know what Kaminga going to the Lakers has to do with LeBron making a decision. But are all these things like known? Is this maybe Bobby? But if he was going back to Miami, wouldn't they want to introduce Giannis LeBron and Bobby Portis as the new big three? Oh, gosh.

The big three? Bobby's like what? Bobby's the Chris Bosch. No, he's the Mario Chalmers when you consider Bam, the big four. Yeah.

Um Maybe he does it tonight while Trump is addressing the nation.

Somebody at work threw that out. It's like he wants to mess with the president or something. I think he's just waiting for all the sh the World Cup. I thought today made a lot of sense from a news cycle perspective. Yes.

Trust me. I'm looking at my rundown. It would have made a lot of sense. Yeah. Lot of so the then the question is and I'll wrap up with this the question is Does the delay give you a hint?

Like if it was Cleveland. Winter, you've gone back to Cleveland already. Yeah. Is he waiting for Giannis to get introduced and then he gets introduced?

Well, I thought the one thing first off, I don't think it's Cleveland. I think, to your point, like, if this was like. All right, I'm you know, one last year, and I'm gonna do this. But, like, if he wants to keep the door open, he's doing a minimum contract. It's not like if he did, which no one's gonna get worked up about that, and we're all gonna be still mad about Gary Trent.

Because, I mean, I like your sentiment. I like your passion, but it's because it was. In theory, if the investor like Pre-agree. The implication. I'm going to go ahead and say that the mislabeling of the podcast is not a coincidence.

If I had to do it, I would say he's with the Warriors. I think he wants to stay in California, too. It makes all the sense. And him and Steph Curry just golfing and they're in between games. And once you move full-time to LA, you're not.

You're not leaving. At least not with the amount of money. Alan Cowherd. Yeah, but Cowherd was the one who said that. And I was stealing that sentiment for my own.

So he would know. He's in Chicago. He moved back. Fuck Chicago. Everyone moved into Chicago acting like they discovered the Midwest.

Oh, it's great. It's so much cheaper and it's not so stuffy. I'm like, okay. Thank you, Grant. Thank you, Paul.
