They unwrapped Yevgeny Kuznetsov for a couple of games. They're still waiting. We don't know.

Is it supply chain issues? First of all, welcome to Carolina. I'm asking six questions at the same time because maybe I'm excited too.

So, welcome. And secondly, do you have a target for when you're going to step onto the ice? Not really sure yet. Just trying to kind of see how each skate goes.

I'm ramping it up more and more each skate. So, just trying to figure that out tomorrow. Maybe Thursday. Or maybe Saturday. We're not sure yet.

So, just kind of wait and see. Jake Gensler is joining us here. Brand new Carolina Hurricane. How did all this happen? You had a modified no trade clause or no movement clause. So, you had some control over where you were going to end up. I guess you could have said, listen, I want to stay here. So, how did this whole thing happen from your point of view?

Yeah. Obviously, the business side of when you don't win and where you're at before they decided to make a move and make a change. I could be more fortunate to end up in a great spot like Carolina. Obviously, a really good team with some high-end players. So, it's been special to watch these guys play the last couple of games. Hopefully, here soon, I'm out there joining with them.

So, obviously, really excited to be here and can't wait to get going. Obviously, you played against them a lot. 21 games.

I'm looking at the numbers. 21 games. 20 points against the Hurricanes. What was it like playing against them? What attracted you to the way Carolina goes about their business? Well, you know what you're going to get against them.

There's not going to be much ice out there. They play hard. They play fast. So, you never liked playing against them. But when you realize, just watching them, how skilled they are, how they like to hold on to clocks, make plays, and they defend you really hard. So, there's a lot of players that can make a lot of plays and you see how close they've been over the last couple of years to get to the ultimate goal.

So, I couldn't be more excited to be along this journey and hopefully this is the year. You've also played with some of these guys at All-Star games before. So, what is your familiarity with some of these guys that you've been teammates with? Yeah, I've been with Aho at the All-Star game. Obviously, he's an unbelievable player. He's just this 200-foot game and how he makes the plays out there. It's been special to watch him. And then, Rod was the coach and obviously, he gave a great speech at that All-Star game. So, he just knew what kind of coach he was and I'm really excited to play for him. Yeah, because Netsoft actually said the same thing.

He had, I guess, the ability to motivate you at an All-Star game, which I don't know that people would necessarily equate the two. Hey, it's Adam Gold and I'm in the studio with my friend Coach Pete DeRuda with the Capital Financial Advisory Group. Is it ever too soon to seek out you and your expertise? Really, there's no too soon. It's time to get serious. So, if you're 50 or over, we call it the financial red zone. And that's when, really, it's time for you to take control of your money and make sure you have a firm on your side that's a fiduciary planning firm, which means they take your side at all times. Now, we'll do this for the next 10 of you who call.

This is a $1,000 value, but I'm going to waive my planning fee to make sure you get your total retirement plan and you get on the right path for retirement. Call 888-843-0013, 888-843-0013 or text ADAM to 600-700. Exactly. I mean, you're not really sure. I mean, just for a coach to come out and talk to everyone and just kind of deal with a special and, you know, that's something I've always kind of remembered about him. So, what are your memories of playing against Aho and have you told the head coach that you would like to play with him?

Yeah. I mean, look, they've got a lot of good players. So, I think whoever you play with, you're playing with a really good player. I'm not sure what's going to happen or where I'm going to play, but I'm just looking forward to the opportunity to grow with these guys and to be able to play with a lot of them.

That's very diplomatic, Jay Kinsell, who joins us on the Adam Gold Show. PNC Arena as a visitor. What's it like? It's loud.

It's intense. And I think one of the atmospheres is the best in the NHL. So, I can't wait to be on the home ice and have the crowd behind me and the team. That's going to be really fun. And got kind of a taste of it in the stands last night.

But just to be out there, that first time is going to be special. Jay Kinsell is joining us here. Now, on the flip side of that is, I'm sure you've seen the schedule. We're like two and a half weeks away from a trip back to Pittsburgh.

That's been your entire professional career. Not to put the cart before the horse and all that, but what are your expectations about going back there and what the emotions like that might be? Yeah, I've got a lot of great memories there.

A lot of good friends that could be lifelong friends, but this is a business we sign up for. It's going to be change is inevitable at times. So, yeah, it's going to be a special night for me and my family, but I think the ultimate goal is to go there and get two points and that's all that really matters. So you've spent two games watching the team play. What are your thoughts on what you like about the way this team goes about their business and how you fit into it? I just like how they play. They play hard. They play fast. They're in your face all over the ice, so they don't give the opposition much time out there.

When you really watch the systems, that's how they're going to play and you realize that when you play against them, how hard it's going to be. So, it's been fun to watch and kind of learn the new systems a little bit and I'm really excited just to be able to play with it. Do you have a Hurricanes equipment bag yet? We saw the videos on Saturday. Yeah, I got one now.

We're all good. Is it as luxurious and big as the Penguins bag was? Not sure yet.

We'll have to see. Oh, so you actually haven't moved into it yet? I think I have. I've seen it, but I've never really carried it like the other one. Gotcha. I understand. I always find it, to me, it's very down to earth that all you guys carry your own equipment.

The guys in other sports, they have somebody else pack all their stuff for them. Is your family going to join you here or are they already with you? They got here yesterday, so they'll be here. We're home for this week, so they'll come for a couple of days, a couple of games, and then they'll go back to Pittsburgh for a couple of weeks.

Then they'll be back full time, maybe at the end of the month to begin in April. Just trying to figure it all out and it's been moving fast the last couple of days, so it's nice to be able to relax and get comfortable. Final thing for you, and I appreciate you giving us a little bit of time, especially as you're just trying to get acclimated, but you mentioned a couple of times, this is the business side of it. This whole thing has to be hard. Your whole professional career is in Pittsburgh, and whether you have roots there or not, everything gets uprooted. How have you adjusted mentally to this kind of a change?

Change is good sometimes. You're coming to a winning team that's been close the last couple of years. They've been right there, so that's obviously exciting. I think we all want to win, and that's the ultimate goal. When you have a chance to win, it excites you, and that's just the main goal. I'm just really excited for that opportunity. A new challenge is always good, so it's going to be fun. Jay Kensel, I appreciate your time, and hopefully you'll get back soon. We'll see you on the ice sometime this week. I appreciate your time. No problem. Thanks, guys. It's going to be fun. Oh, I can't wait. I've gone through so many combinations.

I'm at the grocery store. I'm at the combination nail salon and grocery store. Wait, she's at the nail salon and the grocery store? I'm at the combination nail salon and grocery store.

Groceries through Instacart delivered to my door. I don't have to choose between acrylics and the grocery store. I think it makes sense to have Ajo and Gensel on the same line. And whether it's with Tara Vainen or with Svechnikov, don't know. Just like I do believe that Martine Neches was born to play with Evgeny Kuznetsov. Yeah.

When you watch them, you go, oh my gosh. It's perfect. That really should work.

We'll see. As I did mention yesterday, my only concern is it's too much sugar. Yeah. It's like if you take sugar and you pour it on Froot Loops. Yes. Is that really healthy?

Sugar on Frosted Flakes. Yeah. I know. It is certainly a question that I would have for Rod Rindamore. I just know Jake's going to, he's going to love this fan base because everybody's going to welcome him.

And I mean, once you're on the ice with this fan base, he's not going to want to leave. What are we talking about? You're very excited. I am very excited. Spin your passion into a business with Shopify and break sales records with the world's best converting checkout.
