Hi there, this is Lon, and I'm talking to you from Fairfax Hospital, a cardiac unit. And Lord willing, and the creek don't rise later today, I'm going home. Praise the Lord. I want to thank you for all your prayers.

They meant so much, and they really were efficacious. I barely made it. My heart was in such bad shape that the surgeon said it was starting to fail, even as they were just putting me to sleep. From that little bit of stress, it was failing. So he said that had we waited a week or even a few days after when the surgery was, I would not have made it. I would have had a massive widow maker heart attack and I would have been gone. So praise the Lord for your prayers and thanks for your support.

As I know, I told you they had to fix my aorta as well while they were in my ascending aorta, and that also was in worse shape than they thought. So altogether, I'm just a marvelous example of God's mercy and grace, and I am so happy with that. The verse I held onto when one of them was Psalm 31.

My times are in His hands, and that's how I saw it. I figured, hey, this is all in God's hands and I'm going to wake up. I'm either going to be in heaven when I wake up or I'm going to be in the recovery room.

I remember waking up with that tube, the ventilator tube down my throat, and my hands were tied to the bed so I couldn't reach it and pull it out. And I remember thinking specifically at that moment, well, this is certainly in heaven, so I must have made it through the surgery. So anyway, continue to pray if you would for me for this AFib that has bothered me. We think we have it under control now, so just pray for that, please. Jill's been doing great, and we thank God for that. So continued prayers for her would be good. And I'm just moved that we need to continue to pray for God's mercy on the human race with these vaccines that are seeming to have a little bit of trouble now. So anyway, just wanted to bring you up to date and let you hear my own voice. And thanks to everyone. We love you, and we so appreciate your concern for me and my family. God bless you now. Bye.
