When Noah emerged from the ark, he built an altar to worship God, giving thanks for salvation and demonstrating obedience. This act of worship is a model for believers today, who must deepen their worship experience by surrendering to God's will and trusting in His guidance.

Welcome to Man Talk, a ministry sponsored by TAWCMM, talking and walking Christian men's ministry, where we're devoted to breaking down the walls of race and denomination and to point men to their God-assigned roles.

Now here's your hosts, Will Hardy and Roy Jones Jr. and the things that Noah has experienced. We know WOW stands for walking with God, being obedient to God is the O, and now we've come to that last W, which is worshiping God. So when we talk about worship, what does worship mean to you? Well, it's giving thanks to Him and looking at all of His creation and all the blessings, you know, and just reflecting back inward to God, you know, and just by worship, it's admiration, it's thankfulness, it's giftedness, and it's blessings, and it's just protection. It's just those, when I think of all those things, that's how I worship Father. It's just, and the older I get, the more it seems obvious of all the things He's done, you know, and just in the places I had, like you mentioned in the former show, I have no idea where He's been, you know, but you know He's there. Exactly. Now when Noah, when God set the boat down on Mount Ariac and the waters begin to recede, there was something Noah did after he left the ark, one of the, well actually it was one of the first things he did. Do you know what that was, Roy?

Let me take a quick. Well, you can read that section of Scripture. Yeah, is that the one, Scripture, Pastor, yeah. So Noah came out together with his sons and his wife and his sons' wives. All the animals and all the creatures that move along the ground and all the birds, everything that moves on land came out of the ark, one kind after another. Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it.

There it is. The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in His heart, never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood, and never again will I destroy all living creatures as I have done. As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease. And of course, it continues to this day.

Yeah, it does. Harvest time, planning time, day, night, summer, winter, you know, cold. Absolutely. It continues to this day because God spoke it and we can't stop day from coming or night from coming because it's all in God's hand. But what we want to emphasize here, Roy, is the first thing Noah did. Now think about it.

Think about it. Again, because we were talking about that ark being like salvation, saving Noah and his family from judgment. So when we, and listen to the parallel, man, here it comes, when we become saved and we invite the Lord Jesus Christ into our lives, what is it that the first thing we do?

We give thanks. This is what Noah did. He built an altar and he sacrificed. Sacrifices giving thanks because it was the blood of the animals during that time. But he sacrificed and then the scripture says that the Lord smelled that. And it became to the Lord a thing that was pleasing because Noah knew that God saved me and my family.

Everybody else was wiped out. And so now I want to build an altar and give thanks. Thanks is part of worship.

So worshiping God is for Noah was to build an altar, give thanks and give sacrifice. Now notice sacrifice. What does Romans 12 one and two says? I beseech you, therefore, brothering by the mercies of God, to present your bodies.

Here it comes, man. A living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Some modern translations say your reasonable worship. Modern translation, which is right on point, because when you give yourself over to service to God, you're giving your time, you're giving your talents, you're giving your obedience, you're giving those things that he required us to do now that we're in the sheepfold. And so we need to understand and recognize men, you're listening, keep up the fight. And regardless of how other people think of you, stay obedient, even if you have to walk the journey alone.

And maintain your obedience to God, worshiping him as you go along. Because, see, it's the difficult times to when we have to ensure that when I go through this, God knows what's best for me on the other side. I don't understand it. I don't know why. I don't know when.

I don't know how. I just heard the still small voice of God say go. And so when you go, not knowing sometime where you're going, other times you may know where you're going. But whatever it is, God is plentiful in his mercies and plentiful in his grace and plentiful in his instruction on exactly what you need to do, just like Noah. So we need to digest that. That's heavy.

That's some heavy stuff. We were talking about Noah, and the first thing he did when he came out of the ark was build the altar, as Scripture tells us. And I'm sitting there, as I'm hearing you recant, here he saved his family, his sons and sons' wives. And you've got to imagine what that must have been like when you come out and now all of a sudden there are no other people other than your family.

None. And the overwhelming thankfulness that must have been in his spirit and in his heart just, it's incredible to think about. Incredible. And then if we think of it in today's time, if we just serve him with the same heart, the things, the blessings that he will provide, but the protection he provides and the care and the generational blessings that come behind it. It's just, and we've talked before, US has a terrible time looking past short vision. They very rarely ever get to mid vision, but certainly don't ever get the long term as a whole. And that's what this is all about.

This is having long term vision on the generational changes that we're going to implement and God's going to use us to do for our families and for extended families. Absolutely, because see, what God wanted Noah, God basically hit the reset button. Yeah, he did. That's what he did.

So, but he wanted also Noah to forget about every single thing that was in his past. Everything. It's gone. It's gone. Any encounters that you had with people, all of them are gone.

All of, if you had any debt, you owe somebody. All of that's gone. All of the things that you remembered, God is saying, now you're starting afresh. What does that come back to? Like we've been talking about, Roy, it comes back to the fact that when we become born again, now you are created new in Christ Jesus. Behold, old things are passed away. Behold, all things have become new.

Because why? Your eyes are open. Your eyes are open to the truth. Your eyes are open to justice. Justice meaning that regardless of who it is, you've got to call sin, sin.

Doesn't matter who they are. You've got to call sin, sin. Because if you compromise in one area, then you're subject to compromise on another. Amen. Yep. And we know that that is definitely going to happen. And it creates a pattern, right?

Back to the whole thing pattern about the complacency, the acceptance, and then the rationalization of what we're doing wrong. Absolutely, Roy. You know, God, he didn't, he made it easy for Noah to worship through his sacrifice.

Why? Because he was obedient. See, this is why he made it easy. He made it easy because Noah was obedient. He gave him seven pairs of sacrificial animals rather than just one. See, God knows all of what it's going to take in order for his will to be carried out.

And this is the thing about it. We may not know everything, but we know that he knows, and that's all that matters. It's what he knows. He knows what's going to happen, when it's going to happen, how it's going to happen. We don't know a lot of these things sometimes. We just have to go. And when we go and be faithful in obedience and trust in him, then all of a sudden God begins to reveal and unfold things so that our eyes could see it.

There are so many things. I remember this man, he spoke a prophetic word to me years ago, and that thing didn't come to pass until about three or four years after he said it, but I remembered it. Spoke that prophetic word and I said, praise God. And God just showed me, clear as day, remember when you were here and this individual spoke a prophetic word to you. He came back. Absolutely.

Where are we at now, Roy? Well, we've got some discussion questions around this worship piece. What do you think about worship of God? You know, worshiping God is giving your whole self to him. You know, not holding anything back.

You know, like we read in I think it was lesson two or one about Ananias and Sapphira, you know, holding back part of the land sale. We want to give everything. We want to give those things that God require us to give. And as we do these things, then God will begin to show himself real and more real to you the more you be obedient.

See, because the outset of what we cannot see. But what God can see is always beneficial to our spirit if we are obedient. Amen. How has your life incorporated the worship of God? Every day when I get up, before I roll up out of bed, I said, Lord, let me glorify you.

Let my life glorify you this day and whatever it is you want me to do, I just want to glorify you. You know, and of course, the enemy is saying, oh, my goodness, his feet is hitting the ground. He's going to be on my tail again. And he's absolutely right. He's absolutely right.

We're gunning for you. You know, and when you when you have confidence, because God wants to be confident. Yeah, of course. You know, first, I think first John chapter four, I think it's around 14 or 15. He says this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us, then we know that these are the petitions that we desire of him. So when we petition him because we're coming in confidence, then we know he's going to hear us because we're obedient and we're walking in the way of God. So we can understand that it's not through our own work or our own power or something that we can glorify ourselves in. We glorify God. God help me.

He is just like today. He gave me wisdom on something. And I must admit that thing was worrying me.

I'm not going to go into any details about what it was. I said, Lord, I just need some wisdom. And sure enough, the wisdom came through my son, came to my son. He said, yeah, yeah, such and such. And I said, really?

And then all of a sudden it popped. So God said, go ahead and pursue it. And I said, amen.

It's amazing how that happened. Absolutely. Absolutely. Thank you, Father.

How has Noah's life helped you to understand the challenge of worshiping God? Well, it's it's a challenge because of everything that's going on around us, Roy. You know, we see we see divisions, we see people going on their own way. We see, you know, I'm I'm pretty sure that we're coming up and we've been in, but we're coming up in another civil war that's going that's going to happen. Oh, yeah. You know, with all of the noise that's going on, you know what I'm referring to without getting into any details.

But it's coming. And the thing about it is, is how prepared are we going to be spiritually and not let ourselves get caught up in the wreck? Man, don't get caught up in the wreck. There's there's there's relationships that you had with people for years that have been damaged, have been damaged as a result of things that you have allowed. You have allowed to break you down and put you down there in the weeds with those individuals. Amen.

Don't go there. Well, there's one thing we need to bring up the scripture. We talked about this several episodes back a few months back, probably, I guess, a couple months before the election. But all authority is appointed by who? God.

So men, women, if you're if you're upset at a loved one about either side of the election, all you have to do is remember, if you're a follower of Christ and you believe in the word of God, that he has appointed the authority and then you just accept it and support and repair those relationships. It's just not it's just not worth it. Absolutely. That's temporal. All that stuff is temporal.

And let me let me leave our audience to with this, Roy, because I want to throw an application question at you listener. Based on what you heard today from the worship lesson and the things that Noah did in worshiping God and how your life. Of worshiping God is because only you know that. How could you deepen your worship?

How could you deepen your worship experience with God? So this is what we want to ask you. And so what we would like to do is if you have a response to this, just email Roy and me. Just go to the Web site because we want to hear from you. We just don't want to talk to you. But we want to know what you're thinking when you hear what God is saying through us to you.

So go to the Web site out there. Don't be afraid. Just throw it in there and pitch back how your worship has changed after you listen to this word here, because we don't know how it's affecting you unless you tell us. And we want to hear. Amen, Roy. Amen. Contact us. Tab. We want to hear it. That's right.

Go on to the Web site. That's good. What part of the worshiping God.

That you have never done before, but you want to do. You're looking at me. I'm looking at you.

I'm looking at you. Are you asking me? I guess that's you know, that's something I would like for God to reveal to me. Mm hmm. If I have missed something or if there's something that he would like for me to to worship through.

So I would just be open with that. I would like for him to reveal that to me. Amen. And the thing about it is, God do it. Yeah.

I don't have anything that jumps out to say you need to be doing this. But that's why I say please reveal it to me, Father. Amen. And there's so much, I think, but so little time. You know, there's so many things we need to be doing in the body of Christ in order to advance the kingdom. But it's almost like there's so little time because like we talked about before, we have those distractions that have a tendency to get in the way and wanting to pull us one way or pull us the other way. And then all of a sudden it's the end of the day and we say, Lord, I'm just too tired to get into the word. And then we start reading and especially we get over there in Leviticus and all of a sudden it's like.

And there it is, Roy. We've just fall asleep. We start snoozing on God because we've worn ourselves out during the day that we can't get to our devotion. And that's if you do it in the evening. So I recommend and I know, Roy, you do your devotion in the morning. And I like doing mine in the morning, too. I don't always have a chance to do it in the morning, but most of the time it's when I do my devotion while I'm eating my breakfast.

And, you know, before I eat it or after I eat it, I normally do a devotion there. And if men's group dot org come through for that month, I'll start reading that. And this has been a help to me, man. This is why we share that Web site with you. And all you need is is an email address and they'll send you. You don't have to have any password and all that stuff, just an email address. And you sign up, put that email address in here and you'll get this either once a month or once every other month.

I forget how it comes in, but it's just been a help to me. What you don't want to do, man, from my experience is you don't want to have 10 different devotions coming in. You don't want to have that. You want to you want to have no more than three. Stay focused.

Absolutely. Because different devotions give you different food for your spirit. And you have to find out which one works for you. This is one that I've been a part of for probably five years now. So in it and again, it's been helping me a lot because what it does is it's a complete lesson. And the lessons, just like we did here, the lessons is an overview. So it talks a little bit about what you're going to get into. And then it gives you like four or five lessons about various passages on either a topic or the life of an individual from the scriptures. I remember reading one about Samson years ago.

And boy, that hit home because we know what Samson went through. Yeah. And we know the strength was in the hair.

Yeah. Because he never had his head shaved. But yet he submitted. To the voice of temptation. That's all it took.

It's all it took. And what he did is after he succumbed to the temptation, there had to be judgment. It wasn't any question about, well, would God be merciful? No, it had to be judgment.

And the judgment was. He gave his life. All of what God had given him, he had everything he needed. The strongest man on earth. A natural man. Yeah.

Yet he gave it all up. I can't relate to the hair because those of you don't know, I have no hair on my head. Of course, I do. Buzz what little bit I got, but I still got fairly good strength. I didn't lose my strength when God. God let me keep some of my strength. Will, we're getting ready to wind this session down.

It's always, always good to spend time with you. I love your insight and I love when I see the the the Will Hardy Bible start flipping through. When you look, you look off into the wall or to the ceiling and the scripture just starts coming. It's just amazing how God has used you and has helped you to basically be so, so resourceful and so in tune to his word. So for that, I thank you as a brother in Christ. I'm thankful, God, that he's just given me the hunger.

Yeah. Hunger to stay in the word. And then as many people like I shared with before that I talk to on a daily, weekly basis, you know, and sharing scripture with them.

It just comes and I just can't explain it. But the Holy Spirit, he just give it to me at the time that he give it. And I'm thankful for it because whatever I deposit, I know it's going to be for someone else's good other than myself. Amen to that. Amen to that. Will, would you like to close us in prayer? And folks, we thank you for joining us and we'll be back with you next week. Lord, we just thank you for all of the listeners and we just pray, God, that as they listen to this lesson, that they just take heed to that application question that we gave and that someone, if it's just one or two, three, whoever it is, God, that listen to this and they just want to share their experience. And regarding worship, that we're here to listen. We're here to listen because you have placed us here, God.

You have placed us men wanting to carry out your will. And our desire is to worship you just as you stated in the gospels, in spirit and in truth. We thank you for all that you have done, Lord, for the ministry of talking and walking Christian men's ministry. We thank you for Roy being obedient to your call to establish and found this ministry. And we thank all of the brothers who are part of this ministry, including our producer. We thank God for him as well, because, God, there is no function that is too small and there is no function that is too large. You all see the work that we do on the same level.

Some just do more than others. But we thank you for that. Yes, we praise you, God. And we just ask that you keep looking down on us as we keep yielding our members to you so that you can continuously feed us. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray and thank you.

Amen.
