Kingdom Pursuits, where you hear from ordinary people instilled with an extraordinary passion. Together we explore the stories of men and women who take what they love and let God turn their passion into kingdom pursuits.
Now, live from the Truth Booth, your host, Robbie Dilmore. How fun today Talk about a passion. How about a passion for Bibles for the nations? Like. Bible League.
Today we have Michael Woolworth on with us. How exciting! We've got an opportunity, right, to take part in what God's doing around the world and sharing Bibles. Welcome, Michael. Robbie, good morning.
And I wasn't sure if you'd be on today. I know you celebrated your birthday yesterday, last night. You know, I didn't know if you'd party so hard. You know, it it'd just be too much to come on this morning, but Uh At all serious, Robbie. Hope you had a great birthday.
And listen, thanks for inviting me to be a guest on this wonderful program, Kingdom Pursuits. You and I have connected over many, many years. I believe this is our 12th campaign together, and the result is that. You know, these listeners, they're incredibly kind, have blessed thousands upon thousands of fellow believers all over the world who really had no hope of a Bible. God has them planted where they simply cannot access it.
But inter listeners to Kingdom Pursuits and the Truth Network, they've made an incredible difference in the world. And it's great to be back, Robbie, to take care of the remaining balance of this goal that we're working toward this fall. You know, the good folks at Truth Network and Bible League got together just about a month ago. We said, look, this is a major issue facing the global church that as many as nine of 10 new believers in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America go without a Bible. Let's do something about it.
So we were officially slated to end about a week ago, but we are short of the goal by about 1,500 Bibles. Robbie, we've seen about 2,000 answers to prayer to this point, 2,000 Bibles on their way. We want to take care of the remaining 1,500. We've got to do it by the end of tomorrow, Sunday, November 2nd. But again, We've seen 2,000 Bibles sent.
We want to take care of the remaining 1,500. And, Robbie, we do have friends of Bible League that have agreed to double every single gift. They'll do that all morning long. And in fact, through the end of today, they will match every single gift.
So, let that be an incentive. But, Robbie, all that to say, it's great to be with you during this hour of Kingdom Pursuits. Yes, and speaking of hours, you know. Yes. And it is a wonderful opportunity to get a matched number.
But speaking of hours, this is the fallback kind of Saturday.
So speaking of time change, right, it's time to play little shenanigans. Yes, of course. That's why tune in. I'm so glad. I am, because we've got it, so...
You know One of those questions, Nick or Randy, whoever feels like chiming in. You know is to really ponder what is Daylight savings time.
So what do you think daylight savings time really is from the government's perspective? Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Oh man, uh I don't know or maybe the best way to put this is the way the Indians would look at it. You know, the way they looked at daylight savings time is a government cutting off the bottom of a blanket, sewing it to the top of the blanket, and saying it's longer now. Yeah.
How true. Yeah. Yeah. You know, and I do have an excellent comeback for you now. What do you tell someone who says daylight savings time is a great idea?
You've been wanting a great comeback for this. You got it, Randy?
Well enough. First impression is something I really can't say on the show. Oh, I understand. Michael, you got. A great comeback for somebody.
Spoiled boy, you've got me stumped, Robbie. You guys need to write this down because you will use it, okay? You say. I don't know, I'll give it six months. That is classic.
I like that. That's going in the memory box. And so, for those of us who are working today, i.e., Michael and Nick and Randy, you know, you have a rare opportunity to say something you can only say. one day a year. I've been working 25-7.
Yeah, there you go. That's good too.
So you knew at the end of those shenanigans we would have a Bible riddle, and I really, really like this Bible riddle. You can call in and win today. And not to confuse you, I'm going to give you this number that you can call in and win, then we're going to give you another number to take part in. The campaign for Bible League, but this one you're going to call 866-348-7884 and tell us. What was the ultimate?
I do like this. What was the ultimate daylight saving story in the Bible? Mm. That's a good one. Eight, six, six, there is, there is one.
I mean, you've got your daylight savings, and then you got your daylight savings. Things. If you know that story, call us 866-348-7884-866-34-TRUTH. What was the ultimate daylight saving story in the Bible? And if they do that, Nick, tell them what they'll win.
Absolutely. Yes, listen up, Wake Forest fans. If you know the answer to Robbie's Riddles, you would get two pairs of tickets. That's four tickets in total. As Wake Forest goes up against the American Eagles at the Lawrence Stolman War Coliseum on Monday, this upcoming Monday, November 3rd, at 8 p.m.
You know the answer to Robbie's Riddles? Give us a call at 866-348-784 for Wake Forest Basketball Tickets. There you go. It's not a football game, even though it may seem like football season, but based on the fact that it's Monday, and there you go. You got basketball tickets.
All you got to do is tell us what was the ultimate. Daylight saving story in the Bible. We would love to hear from you. 866-348-7884.
Now, Michael, we have a really cool sound bite that you sent to us. Do you want to set that up for us?
Well, you know, Robbie, you and I have been together for about four weeks, just hammering away at this goal to bless 3,500 Bible-less believers. You know, we've shared a lot of needs. It's, you know, unmet Bible needs: 500 there, 100 here, 300 over here. And I also want you to hear the reaction of a senior saint who went years without a Bible. Robbie, her family, all animist when she became a believer among the Zulu tribe in South Africa.
She was shunned. Her family said, We want nothing to do with you now that you follow this Jesus. But she stayed faithful to her local church. Her pastor was the only one who had a Bible. And our pastor, our partner, a man by the name of Joseph, when he gave her a Bible, Robbie, he said she didn't merely say thank you.
But she had this reaction. This is Pastor Joseph in South Africa. We were in a place called Mpumalanga. The lady there is about 62 years or so. She literally cried.
She knelt down and she cried. At the age of 60, she never had a Bible. It is so much fulfilling just to see people like her rejoicing and being so gracious when they receive their Bibles. I love that word, gracious. And you know If that doesn't touch your heart just to think, Wow You know, many of our listeners have given to Bible League over the years, and it could easily have been that $5 gift that you sent.
that this yeah that had such a reaction And I'm now 70. I can assure you, if I'd been without a Bible for about two weeks, you know, I would. I would be down there too. Like, this is amazing stuff. And as we've talked about so many times, Michael, she got not only a Bible, she got it in her language.
And she got it with somebody there to help her, that pastor there, to distinguish what it means, help her with a Bible study with it. There's so much that goes into this. Yes, there was a time when we took her through a weekly study with about twenty others, Robbie, and introduced her to the hope of the gospel. She would learn who is Jesus? How is he both God and man?
What's it mean to die to self and to put on Christ in the day to day of life Even in a place among the Zulu tribe there in South Africa. And Robbie, I have been all over the world. We have friends that fund these trips, and I've seen the reactions of believers when they finally receive a Bible.
Some have been believers for maybe a couple of months. In the case of this fear woman, she'd been a believer for about five years. But again, the reactions of, you know, again, tears of joy. It's jumping, it's dancing. I remember the former village witch doctor in Tanzania took her Bible and in Swahili 10 times.
She said, I'm a new creation in Christ. I'm a new creation in Christ, right? And again, I can't help but think of Truth Network listeners over many years who have given sacrificially. To send Bibles even half a world away. But, Robbie, today with every gift, you're putting tears of joy on the faces of Bibleist believers all over the world.
Yeah, and it gets doubled. All you have to do is call 1-800-YesWORD, or you click on the Bible League banner at thetruthnetwork.com website.
So go to truthnetwork.com. Click on that and you'll be on your way in no time. We'll be right back with a whole lot more. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Kingdom Pursuits where we hear how God takes your passion.
And uses it to build the kingdom. How fun! Today, we're talking with Michael Woolworth and the Bible League and the passion to help Bibleist believers receive. The precious, precious word of God and their opportunity to experience Christ in amazing ways as they begin that challenge. And so, as always, we love having you on, Michael.
And it is, it's a really neat thing as we. Head up this last few days Ow. We got a few more Bibles that we got an opportunity to give, and let's get into it.
Well, you know, our goal together as Truth Network and Bible League is to bless 3,500 Bibleist believers that we know by name at Bible League in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. Robbie, I'm going to take you and your listeners to India in just a moment. But, you know, game seven of the World Series, if you're following Major League Baseball, it happens tonight. There'll be a new champion when that game ends in Toronto, Canada tonight. But Robbie, if I can use Baseball Speak, this listening family, year after year, when we've gathered and we've said, look, this is what God is doing in his world through his word.
Be a part of this. your listeners, Robbie, they have hit it out of the park, if I can use some baseball speak. And so yes, we're in the final days of this campaign. The world needs the word. We said together, let's do this again for three thousand five hundred.
Robbie, to date, we've seen just north Of 2,000 answers to prayer.
So if each $5 gift is the answer to the prayer of a waiting believer in those regions I just mentioned, we've seen just north of 2,000. We're trying to take care of the remaining 1,500 we've got until the end of tomorrow, Sunday, November 2nd.
So Monday morning, we'll tally up whatever God has done through the Truth Network listening family and get these Bibles on their way, right? We're not going to waste any time getting these to the receivers. We'll squeeze every dime to the glory of God. And then, you know, Robbie, we're what, about eight weeks away from Christmas, I think. Boy, this year, these believers who really have never read a single verse in their own Bibles.
Will read for themselves the precious Christmas story.
So, again, that's what you're doing with every call today. And let me say thanks to these wonderful Truth Network listeners, people like Connie in Utah, who said, I'm in at 20 Bibles. Stephen of Listening in North Carolina today said, I'm good for a $200 gift for 40 Bibles. And then Matthew of South Carolina said, Michael Robbie, I want to be a part of this taking care of a dozen Bibles today.
So, Robbie, that's how it happens in the final couple of days of this campaign.
So grateful to be at this point, praying that we can get it done. And the incentive today is one, it's a Bible for Bible match. Friends of Bible League in another part of the country, knowing that we're here today on Kingdom Pursuits. Again, hammered away at the remaining 1,500 Bibles, and they've agreed to double every single gift. They believe so strongly in what we're doing.
They want to let that be an incentive to anybody.
So, regardless of the size of your gift today, every single gift made will be doubled. But, Robbie, it's great to be with you today. And again, before you set your clocks back tonight, think about, pray about being a part of this campaign. Again, we'd love to get it done together by the end of tomorrow. Yeah, and so simple.
All you gotta do really The simplest way to me is you just go to truthnetwork.com. If you've If you're good on the internet or you're at least average, then you know you can you can uh quickly uh Click on that link to again the Bible League, you'll see that banner: The World Needs the Word. And when you do that, it It it's just so simple, it didn't take me a minute and a half. And I'm a geezer, you know, so it it it's it's It's easy for anyone. If you go to again, truthnetwork.com or 1-800-Yes Word or 1-800-937-9673.
1-800-937-9673. Easy enough. They got operators that can help you out. And again, we can. Wait.
You know, get that precious word, you know, just a $5 gift, you know, that somebody will, you know, it has changed their life forever, changed generations. And again, we'll have an opportunity to hopefully see him in heaven someday. And so we were going to go to India. Yeah, I want to take you to India. You know, some of you might be asking, how does Bible League do it for $5 a Bible?
You know, do you go into a village, plop down a box of Bibles and pray there's takers? Let me kind of flush that out for you in this story from India, which is now the most populated country in the world, Robbie. Top spot was held by China for many, many years. But with all of their restricted family policies, India is now the world's most populated country. 1.5 billion people call the land of Gandhi their home.
Robbie, this is a tough place to live on your faith. There are actually anti-conversion laws on the books in about 26. of that country states that say what, if you tell somebody what Jesus means to you, they can falsely accuse you of trying to forcibly convert others to Christ. It's never true, right? But again, there's a price to be paid here.
The government is really cozy with Hinduism, especially radicalized Hinduism. And so again, the message is being sent. Look, there's no room for Christianity here within the walls of India. But that does not keep people like Shanti Vardhan from sharing his faith. What's his story?
Well, he was born blind. He lost his father at age 10, lived in extreme poverty just outside of New Delhi, India. And again, living in all this despair, Robbie, there was a time where he wanted to end his life, but his mother, a godly woman, Prayed for his salvation. And when it came, she prayed, Lord, give this young man a ministry. Fast forward a little bit.
At 30 years of age, he became a believer. He was invited to a Bible study from Bible League. When he said, I want to follow Jesus, Robbie Bible League was there to give him an audio Bible because of his visual impairment. He would listen to the precious promises of God every day, and that he developed this incredible burden. To reach those who were blind, who had other disabilities, who lived in extreme poverty and just needed some hope.
And so, as part of his little evangelical church just outside of New Delhi, India, Shanti Varden and his, again, members of his church would invite people to come learn about Jesus week by week through this Bible study from Bible. We talked about this coming into the show today, right? And I can tell you, by the grace of God and through the gumption of this young man, Shanti Varden, in spite of those anti-conversion laws that could toss him into jail for telling others about Jesus. Robbie, we've seen about 200 people associated with this story say we want to follow Jesus.
Now, this comes from a man who at one time lived in extreme despair, wanted to end his life, but now he's pointing people to the bread of life. Hey, Robbie, these are things you won't find on the front page of your morning paper or on your favorite cable news source. That's why I love being on this hour of kingdom pursuits to be able to say, Look, let's brag about our God. This is his work and his world. And then, fellow saints who are serious about pointing others to the hope of the gospel, the story of Shanti Varden, 200 people right now in India praying for Bibles.
It's kind of part of the remaining 1,500 Bibles, Robbie, that we want to take care of. In fact, we need to take care of by the end of tomorrow, Sunday, November 2nd. It's a $5 gift per Bible. Every gift today, regardless of size, will be doubled.
So I guess the only question is. How many will you send today? Yeah, I mean you think about, you know, the The trap that Satan has placed in India, then their caste system. You may be familiar with that. That somebody that would be born blind would be sent to the lowest.
of the low and and what would appear to be no way out. And and so that that suicidal thought is You know, just Satan's way to try to destroy somebody who obviously, through the grace of God, has borne tremendous fruit, right? I mean, when you think of systems like here was this man that was born blind, which, by the way, we all were to some extent. I've often thought about the blind beggar as Robbie. But here's this man that was born blind physically, and as a result, he's showing all these people.
A how to see And and What an opportunity we have to take part in what God is doing in that, in that amazing, amazing fruitfulness of Janti, right? To think that you've got $5 that could just. Plant this seed that could send somebody else out of this unbelievable poverty because I'm sure a lot of those 200 that you're talking about are also. find themselves at the bottom of that caste system, right, Michael? Yeah.
Well, you know, I wish I had the audio clip that we could play. My colleague that collected that story, a man by the name of Bobby, said Michael, he said, Shanti Varden says, Look, I've never been able to see anything in my life. He said, I'm glad that God gave me blindness. He said, through that, he brought me to himself, and I can say today that I have seen God. Of course, Through hearing those precious promises and seeing Christianity lived out in those around him.
And Robbie, I know it's tempting to say, okay, my $5 gift. In this great big world, can it make an impact? Most of the stories we've shared over the last few weeks, Robbie, it all started with one Bible, somebody able to share what's in that Bible. And I love to say, a gracious God willing to bring people from the grips of spiritual blindness and darkness. and bring them into his kingdom of light.
And again, wherever you're listening today, to think that you can be this incredible blessing as we seek to get this goal met by the end of tomorrow. It's $5 a Bible. And again, two hundred people in India right now praying for your generosity today. Yeah, I you know. I often think that, man, how amazing is it that God gives us this opportunity to share the light?
Right? And and and the light that's in that word that would be Given whether it's India, Venezuela, all the places that we've talked about over the last month, the different stories. But that's the point: that every single one of those $5 gifts, every single one of them, There's a story. There's somebody that feels lonely, feels unaccepted, feels all these things, and through those words. Right?
They can build on their relationship with Christ, be ministered to, and the beauty of it is that I love you guys have all these disciplers, people that will help these people through Bible studies, through understanding it. You know, it's an amazing thing that God has done through Bible League. And we can be part of it. All you got to do, again, is go to truthnetwork.com. At truthnetwork.com, there you can see the Bibles for the World Banner, Bible League, and click on that.
It'll walk you right through it in just moments. You can donate, or you can just dial 1-800-YesWord. That's 800-YesWord, or 800-937-9673. And again, they got operators standing by, and every single $5 you give. You know, we are matching that, and so how cool!
Like, you've really touched two lives when you touch one.
So we gotta go to another break, it sounds like, and when we come back. We've got more. Another story or two. I know you're going to be blessed as I will. Stay tuned, so much more Kingdom Pursuits.
Oh, by the way, if you happen to know in the longest... Like Daylight Savings Day Was in the Bible, 866-348-7884. We've got a gift for you. Basketball tickets to Wake Force. I can't believe somebody didn't call.
You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Kingdom Pursuits, where we hear how God takes your passion. and uses it to build the kingdom in a f You know, this is fundamental stuff to have passion like for the Word of God and for these people around the world that. You know, God has made a way where there seems to be no way for them to get the Word of God in their native language. And so, this is an amazing time with Michael Warworth and the Bible League as we were ending up this campaign, coming into the finish line, and an opportunity to bless some more.
And so. Um Michael, it's it's It's go time, I guess. It's go time. We're literally. In the home stretch, it's the 11th hour, right?
We've seen more than 2,000 answers to prayer in our four weeks together. Robbie, we're simply trying to get the remaining 1,400 on their way. And I can tell you, it is a joy for us at Bible League to tell these waiting believers: look, the Bible's You're praying for, they're on their way. You know, we came into the show today. You mentioned you played this audio clip from this pastor in South Africa among the Zulu tribe that handed a Bible to that woman that had prayed for about five years for the precious word of God.
And her congregation, the pastor, was the only one. to have a Bible, believe it or not. But again, the reaction was what? Not merely saying thank you, but for weeping with joy over having that Bible. And again, Robbie, as I mentioned earlier, I've traveled around the world.
We have friends that fund those trips. I've seen people react like that. I have not been able to help, but think of the sacrifice of this listening family, those two. Tuned into Kingdom Pursuits, those listening all across the Truth Network over many, many years. who have helped put uh tens of thousands of uh Bibles into the hands of these Waiting believers.
We're truly feeding heart-hungry believers today, right? These are people that have come to saving faith. They said, I want to follow Jesus. We know them by name at Bible League.
So their hearts are filled with joy, right? But their hands are empty. But, Robbie, with every call, with every click today, we're getting it done. Harrison of Ohio said, Count me in, Michael Robbie. I want to make a $200 gift to take care of 40 Bibles.
Miles of North Carolina said, Cal me in, a fifty dollar gift to put Bibles into the empty waiting hands of ten believers. Howard of Virginia said I'm in a one hundred dollar tax deductible gift For 20 Bibles. And Robbie, that's how we get it done. It's listeners all over the country thinking about it, praying about it, making a gift that's meaningful to themselves and their families. And again, we're praying that Monday morning we can tally up and see that all 3,500 Bibles have been taken care of.
I do want to take you to the Middle East, if I may, Robbie, 800 Yes Word, 800 YesWord or TruthNetwork.com to be a part of this campaign. The world needs the word. I know our thoughts and prayers are still with those affected by the Israeli Hamas conflict. It's encouraging to know those peace agreements. Have been signed.
Our prayers that they can stick and true peace would come to that part of the world. But only miles from that current conflict is a woman by the name of Aria was invited by a Christian to come hear about Jesus through a weekly Bible study. Aria would gather with about 20 others. She was raised, by the way, in a radicalized Islamic family. She became a believer, long story short, she would come to see that Jesus.
Is the name above all names, the name by which she had to be saved? Robbie, she took her little Bible study booklet home from Bible League. She hid it in her room because she still lived with her parents. As a 19-year-old, her mother rummaged in the room, found a booklet, gave it to her father, who, as a radicalized man, did not share in the joy of her newfound faith. He beat her nearly to death, but it didn't end there.
He called the local authorities, reported her as an infidel. They would take her to a remote cell where they beat her, they violated her, kept her without any outside communication, virtually no food or water for a couple of weeks. But Robbie, when they let her go, I love to say they made a big mistake. They unleashed on the world a woman on fire for Jesus. And with others in her evangelical church there in the Middle East, Young Aria has seen about 200 people come to Christ.
200 people have said, Look, we want to follow Jesus. They see the tragedy of her story, right? Being shunned by her own family and yet on fire for Jesus. And, you know, Robbie, when I asked Aria, how could we pray for you? She did not say, Get on Truth Network, get on Kingdom Pursuits this morning and ask those listeners to pray for an end to our suffering.
She knows that God is working through it. She said, Pray that we'll love Him with every fiber of our being. She said, Pray that we'll see those around us. Not as the enemy. but as the mission filled.
And she was quick to say, look, these Arabic-speaking believers, They need Bibles because when you're told you don't matter, die, what does a gift today mean? It means what? We're with you. Wherever God has this planted here in the U.S., we're with you, we're for you. We want you to be able to endure and persevere.
And when you can open up your own Bible every day, Robbie, you're reminded what? God knows you intimately. And again, you have that strength, you have that grace and that gumption to move forward.
Now you know 200 people in the Middle East praying for a Bible, and it's all part of this final 1,400 that we need to raise, Robbie, by the end of tomorrow. $5 sends a Bible, every gift matched. How many will you send today? Right, it's a really cool thing when you think about um When you listen, those listeners, you know, somebody sends $50, it's $10. Ten Bibles for fifty dollars.
It's just remarkable. Or, you know, they did they sent a hundred dollars and twenty Bibles and through that twenty Bibles right, it got doubled.
So that was forty Bibles. And, you know, if if you think about that, just five listeners at a hundred dollars sounds like we would help her out with what what it is that she was doing. And so it's it is that opportunity uh to simply just go to truthnetwork.com and look for the world needs the word Bible League and org, dial 1-800-S Word or 800-937-9673. And I and I know that our listeners are You know, like me. They got up this morning.
They spent some time there. you know it's life It's life-giving. And what a cool thing that we get to share. And again, who knows how many people. That that one Bible that you had will, you know, change somebody like the the young lady you just described and then 200 more and 400 more.
And you know, w it's a real opportunity to be a steward of what God's given us in so many different ways. Again, I'm not asking you to. Take from your church or any other money that you already have obligated somewhere. Just simply ask God: you know, what have I got? that we could that you would have me put towards this particular uh thing as as God touches your heart with it, um, we get the opportunity to do it.
And it it's honor it it's an honor. It's a neat thing, man, to to be able to take part in it, right, Michael?
Well, you say, Sergey, I've heard you say plenty of times, Robbie. You know, you're likely not going to meet people like Arya this sign of eternity. You know, think about the proximity of the Middle East to where you're at today, right? It's probably not going to happen. But, Robbie, it's entirely reasonable that in eternity somebody will stop you and say, Look, I was on the receiving end of the Bibles, you sent.
I know it didn't seem like a big deal to you, but I was on the receiving end of that. I was. the least of these that Jesus talks about. You know, in that text in Matthew 25, Robbie, Jesus says you do it to the least of these, you've done it to me, right? I think these are the least of these people situated all over the world where they have no access to the Bible.
And in that text, you know, Jesus goes on to say, There'll come a time I'll separate the goats from the sheep. The goats, of course, Unbelievers, you say what? My time, my money, it's mine, but in that latter group, which I think Characterizes the Truth Network listening family. Jesus says what? Those sheep say what?
everything I have, Lord, is yours. Where can I invest it today? And so know that after working together for about twelve pink campaigns over many, many years, Bible League has been properly vetted by Truth Network. And I could just let anybody on the air, right? No.
But we're going to squeeze every dime to the glory of God, right? And we're going to get these Bibles into the hands of these believers. As quickly as possible. And so, really, the only barrier today is what? It's the finances, it's 1,400.
Hundred remaining Bibles at $5 each. That's a $7,000 gift, a shortfall, if you will. And Robbie, that's how we do it. People wonder, how do you do it for $5 a Bible? Gone are the days where we print a Bible here in the U.S.
Stick it on a ship, pray that it gets through port somewhere in the Middle East in about six months.
Now, what we do is we work with printers around the world where it's safe and where it makes sense to do so. And as we meet financial constraints like the one before us, we're able to say, what? Fire up the presses. We need Bibles in Arabic. We need them in Mandarin.
We talked about Hindi there in India earlier in the hour, but that's how close we are. It really is the 11th hour. It is the ninth inning, if you will. I know the final game of the World Series played tonight. But again, we're there.
We've seen more than 2,000 answers to prayer to this point. Robbie, people like Morris of Utah said, I'm in at 20 Bibles. Merriam of South Carolina said, Michael Robbie, I want to take care of a dozen believers today. And then Robert of North Carolina said, I want to invest a $100 tax-deductible gift for 20 Bibles. Robbie, we're in the home stretch again, as I say, in baseball speak.
It's the ninth inning, and we'd love to get this goal met. Actually an extra innings as the case may be.
So with those extra innings, right? It's the time to have a walk-off home run. It would be wonderful, right? 1-800, yes word, or go to truthnetwork.com. One more segment coming up.
You're listening to The Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.
Well welcome back to Kingdom Pursuits where we hear how God takes your passion and uses it To build the kingdom, so fun today to hear more about what's going on with Bible League across the world and bringing Bibles to the world. You know, I was just thinking during the break, you know, what a neat thing we get to pray with Bible League that they will meet these needs. I mean, uh, You know, you've given whatever, you know, or maybe you're not in a position, but we're all in a position to ask God to bless this, to bless these folks that need the word. And we stand back and watch in amazement. I mean, I do all the time.
Like, man, somebody one time I heard about a $7,500 gift like that, and it just blew my mind that, man, God, you just made it happen. And so, you know, we can continue to pray that God's going to meet those needs of these people that we're talking about. And see this in amazing ways. And, you know, the next segment, right after Kingdom Pursuits, you may know, is encouraging prayer with James Banks. And one of the.
Things that James has taught me over the years about prayer. It is the beautiful thing of it is. the real opportunity is just to share with God. Him share with you, you share his heart, an opportunity to do that, however, that works. I mean, it's a gigantic opportunity to commune with God over this issue of Bibles for the Nation, which we know is near and dear to his heart.
I mean, it couldn't be closer to his heart, his word. And so, that opportunity we all have before us to pray, ask God, you know, to bless this or put on our hearts what he would have us do, right, Michael?
Well, I love that, Robbie. And in a moment, I'm going to wrap up our time together in Mozambique. But, you know, our God is so. Kind to us. He doesn't expect us to pull his will for our lives out of thin air, does he?
It's in the pages of Scripture. And again, you and I have the opportunity every single morning to open up, again, the pages of our precious Bibles. And be reminded of what God wants us to do. He lovingly puts these parameters in place that keep us. Really, in a place of safety.
I was in the Psalms this morning, Psalm 25, where the psalmist writes: Lord, lead me in your ways, teach me in your paths. And I will gladly follow your commands. Again, it's all over the pages of scripture, right? And again, the Christians that we're talking about that we've spoken of over the last four weeks really have Not had that opportunity. God hasn't implanted in places.
Where there are no Christian bookstores, no discount retailers, no Amazon to drop a box of Bibles into their village. And Robbie, that's why we're so grateful of. People like Handis of Ohio saying, I'm going to take care of 12 waiting believers today. Randall of South Carolina said, I'm in at $100. For 20 Bibles.
Lawrence of North Carolina said, I want to make a $150 investment to put Bibles into the empty waiting hands of 30 believers. And Robbie, they join you and your wife. You've been kind to support this campaign. We're in the 11th hour, if you will, the ninth inning, extra innings, as you said, Robbie, trying to get this goal met. The remaining 1,400 To get us to 3,500 waiting believers that we know by name at Bible League.
Tomorrow really is the last day. We'll wrap things up Monday morning, tally up whatever God has done through the Truth Network listening family. But again, it's $5 a Bible, every gift doubled through the end of today. And two ways to get involved: 800 yes word, 800 yes word. Or just click the Bible League banner.
You can find that at truth. Network.com. But Robbie, I'd love to have us wrap up in the country of Mozambique, Africa. Is this a good time? Oh, absolutely.
Go for it.
Okay, great. I'm still waiting to hear who's going to win that wonderful prize by answering your Bible riddle today about time, right? But let me again wrap us up in Mozambique, Africa. Robbie, if you've been attuned to the news in recent weeks, you know that Christians are paying a price. All over the continent of Africa and Nigeria, Christians have been slaughtered, there have been beheadings.
in Mozambique. There's other parts of that comment again where Christians Pay dearly on a daily basis. But let me tell you the story of a man by the name of Timbe in Mozambique, Africa. He lives in the Shi Shai district of that country, just off the Indian Ocean. important country in terms of electronic vehicles, right?
They mine a lot of cobalt, which is important to that industry. But Tim Bay's story was this. He grew up as the grandson of the village witch doctor, so he had no idea who Jesus is, no understanding of what Christianity was all about. He eventually married. Robbie, he and his wife had two sons, 9 and 11.
One day, those sons went missing. They put together a search party and would find that those boys. had been murdered very tragically at the hands of Tembe's Grandfather's world of demons and child sacrifice. Again, I know that's somewhat graphic, but that's still a thing in many parts of Africa. This put Timbay and his wife into a deep depression.
Really wasn't until a Bible League volunteer came, introduced him to the hope of the gospel, invited him to this weekly Bible study we've talked about in our hour together, right? People come, they learn who is Jesus, how is he both God and man? What's it mean to die to self? And when Jesus says, If you want to be great in this kingdom, you learn to serve. And so they go through this study over about 12 weeks with maybe 20 other couples, right, in their remote village there in Mozambique.
Today, Tim and his wife are believers. They've been trained to share Christ. And as people have heard their story of both tragedy and yet hope, they've said, look. Where do you find the grace and the gumption to move forward after a tragedy like that? Of course, you and I know this.
What is it? It's the hope of the gospel, right? God gives that, He promises that. to his children.
So Robbie, that's why we're here today. God's doing amazing things. And from wherever you're listening today, we can get it done. And let's do it by the end of tomorrow, Robbie. There you go.
1-800, yes word, 1-800. 937-9673. Or You can go to truthnetwork.com. Truthnetwork.com. Thank you, Michael.
God will do it. All right. Bye.
