Kingdom Pursuits, where you hear from ordinary people instilled with an extraordinary passion. Together we explore the stories of men and women who take what they love and let God turn their passion into kingdom pursuits.

Now, live from the Truth Booth, your host, Robbie Dilmore. Wow, we are going across the country today to Utah. To enjoy what God is going to be doing.

Well, he's doing it now in Utah. He's going to be doing it even more so. We got our own Russ East. He is our station manager in Utah with us because we got. Big things going on in Utah, right, Rusty?

Yes, we do. We're looking forward to Greg Laurie coming to Utah on Sunday. Sunday, November 16th at the Utah Valley University. He will be doing their Harvest Crusade with Phil Wickham and Chris Tomlin, and it's going to be an amazing night of sharing the gospel.

So I want to encourage all of our Listeners in Utah to invite their friends and come out to this event and be praying for it for sure. Right. And certainly all the. Truth listeners everywhere that might be hearing whether in Ohio this morning, North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina. And often people in Illinois and adjoining states What an opportunity we have to pray for Utah.

And so, Rusty. You know, you don't usually get to do Kingdom Pursuits, so you don't, you may not know about one of my favorite parts of Kingdom Pursuits. That is called Shenanigans.

So speaking of Utah.

Now the fun begins. Yeah. Yes it does.

So are you ready to play shenanigans rough? I am.

Okay. Have you ever played shenanigans before? No, I don't think so. Oh, man. You're you're in for a tree.

So the idea here is see if you can answer these Utah-related riddles. And so with that in mind, What did the greedy Jamaican from Utah say? She said. Because this is the place. It is the place.

What do you think, Nick? What did the greedy. Jamaican from Utah Say.

Okay. Just woo. I don't know why but um Being that he was greedy, he said more. Being that he was Jamaican, he said mon. More money.

I knew it was coming. Just get it, Rusty. Come on, we need a little little Eastern. Rust's last name is East. We need a little Eastern human laugh going on.

Oh, come on. Let's hear you live. It's somewhat funny. All right, you might not like that one. You're going to love this one.

I love it.

So what did the hippion acid, why I should say, why did the hippion acid want to go to Utah? Yeah. Uh Maybe just to go skiing, just to enjoy the Wow, and while he was up there on the on the snow-top mountain skiing. He could have an LSD LDS adventure. Oh my God.

Come on, Rusty. That was a little. I like that one. I know, it's all just a joke, I know, I know. L D S.

LSD, okay. Mm. I like that one. You might like this one better rusty because it doesn't go there necessarily.

So a man dies on the border of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah. He died there on the border. What did his funeral look like? Boy, if I'm not sure. Probably head.

A lot of different perspectives. Yeah. He had four. Coroners, I was like, I noticed something about the four states connecting. That was a good one, I like that one.

Four corners. Yes. And so you knew at the end of those shenanigans Which Rusty, we didn't hear one Russ East laugh in the entire segment.

So we're trying to warm you up, buddy. But see if I'm We'll see if we can get warm on this one. But don't answer this one, Rusty, because the listeners are going to call in and win at 866-348-7884 if you can answer this question.

So Utah actually is an Indian name that means people of the mountains.

So, how did Moses know what the weather was like at the top? of Mount Sinai. How did Moses know what the weather was like. On the top of Mount Sinai, Right? 866348.

7884-866-348-7884. And if you can guess, How Moses knew that? You call us and tell them what they'll win. Absolutely, yes, you'll be winning a prize from our Kingdom Pursuits Prize Vault. If you know the answer to Robbie's riddles, give us a call at 866-348-7884-866-34 TRIO.

How did Moses know the weather on the top of Mount Cyanide. You call us we got a prize vault loaded. We've got the official Kingdom for Suits back scratchers. It's a gospel backscratcher scratcher rusty. It's got the little beads, blue, excuse me, red and white, you know, and yellow.

So you can share the gospel while scratching somebody's back. How how perfect is that? Do you still have Narcan? I have Narcan.

Okay. In case while you're scratching their back. You're watching their back. Yeah, you got their back. You got your back.

You got their back while you're scratching their backs. You got an arch. But we also have lots and lots and lots of books. We got t-shirts. You name it.

You call us. We would love to hear from you 866-348-7884. Even if you've got a comment or a question for us about the event going on. And um Utah Valley University, which I understand is in Owen Orwin Orin. Utah, right?

Right, Orum, yeah, it's a kind of a different sounding name. It's just just uh down the street from Provo, from where Brigham Young University is.

So it's a very highly Mormon Um County down in that area. And so our signal 95.3 FM comes in crystal clear down there. Boy, we'd love to hear from any of our listeners in Provo, Lehigh. Uh American Fork. Um All that your Spanish fork.

Payson. If you're listening down there or in the Salt Lake area, you're listening to 95.3. Or um ANA20. Or up in Ogden, 103.9. Would just love to answer any questions you have.

You've never been to a A Crusade by Greg Laurie. I had a chance to go to one up in Boise Idaho about two years ago. And I have to say, They just do a super, super Job of just getting the gospel out and a very organized process, you know, to have the the the the ushers or the people that that talk to you afterwards Um like I was the I was able to be a one of those people that when there are a couple uh young people that made a decision for Christ and put their faith in Christ alone and you just give them a Bible and and you talk to them and they fill out a little contact card and the the mom was there and she was filling some stuff out and It was just Amazing. Yeah. So we have a wonderful time.

You get a chance, which, by the way, I don't know if you knew this, Rusty. I was born in Pocatello, Idaho, so I'm you know that. Yeah, some relatives there, but It's an amazing opportunity we have to take part in what Jesus is doing in Utah, right? And it's coming up November 16th, and we could be praying for it all over the country because that's the giant part of a crusade, right? And I know that all the Billy Graham crusades, there were people all over the world praying.

And this is our opportunity, the Truth Network, to take part in this crusade in Utah as we can all be praying. And those, of course, in Utah get a chance to go and see what Greg Laurie's doing, go a chance to be an usher as your call. But essentially, you're helping people confess that Jesus is Lord and walk them through what the next steps may be in discipleship for them. It's really an amazing opportunity. And, Rusty, your own ministry, right?

Utah Partnership for Christ in your podcast, Utah Passion for Christ. That's all about the same. mission that you've been on for years, right? Yeah, by God's grace. We've been bringing mission teams What that means, a mission team, is a group of, say, 10 or 12 high school or college students.

And from time to time, we may have an older group. Folks from Alan Wright's church come out. from the Winters and Salem area. But generally it's it's we've had about 300 groups. come out to Utah over the last 25 years and we Organize a week of ministry of forming relationships with with the Mormon people.

We go to where the Mormons congregate. We So we got to go to our break, Rusty. But I got a little homework for you. During the break. The sense you didn't laugh at any of my jokes.

I am hoping that I can hear a joke that you think is funny because I'm really anxious, and I know our audience is, to hear you laugh. And so, all right, so you your mitt, your homework is come up with a joke that you. we'll get a chance to hear you laugh. And meanwhile, you guys can tell us why Moses knew the climate at the top of Mount Sinai. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.

Welcome back to King Pursuits, where we hear how God takes your passion and uses it for the kingdom.

So excited today to have our station manager in Utah with us, getting ready for this amazing Harvest Crusade with Greg Laurie coming up November 16th at the Utah Valley. University, and we can all be praying, if not attending. It's going to be November 16th at 6:30. How exciting! Greg Laurie.

Bring in the gospel. And right there in of all places, Utah. Uh so during the break Rusty, I had some homework. I'm going to see. I'm dying to hear.

I've got a great one. Yeah, all right, so knock-knock joke.

So knock knock. Who's there? Interrupting cow. Interrupting Kahoo. Moo!

Ooh. Yeah. All right. Or you say Your assignment wasn't just to tell the joke.

Now we gotta hear a rusty laugh.

Well, that's your own joke. You didn't think that was the break. I've been laughing. Oh, yeah. I've been laughing.

That's a funny joke right there.

Okay. Yeah. Alright, alright.

So, um Do people not laugh in Utah? No, we do. We do laugh. What causes a Utonian? Or how do you refer to somebody from Utah?

Just a Uton. A U-ton? Kind of like a crouton. Kind of like a crouton. Only a Uton.

So what causes a Uton to like have. laughter that you can hear.

Well Probably like during the football season, if your team Are the Utes. You know, you're laughing, you're cheering for them because the big rivalry is between the University of Utah and BYU. But if you're a BYU fan, you'd probably be laughing because. your team beat the youth.

So that's the red versus the blue.

So So that's a big rivalry. I did not know that. And so I guess it would be like, you know. Caroline and Duke here.

So, right, right.

So, we got all inquiring minds need to know, Rusty, which is your favorite?

Well, see, if I give you my answer, it's going to alienate So many of our listeners So That's very political of you. You know, I'm a 49ers fan. That I will stand for. 49ers fan. Bleed.

Yeah, bleed, live and bleed for the 49ers. And so.

So that that's that's who I I'll say I is my my team. Joe Montana to the end, right? Yeah, how wonderful.

So, getting back to the issue at hand. Right. your own story, right? It it you were in the Um Mormon faith, LDS. What do you prefer?

What's the best if you meet somebody that is of the LDS church? Is it better to refer to them as Mormon, or is it better to refer to them as Church of Latter day Saints? You know, it's going to just vary from person to person.

So, the best thing to do, I think, is just to ask them. because their profit now I I'll I'll use both. I'll use uh Latter-day Saints or um or or Mormons, I'll use that term. Um, you know, I just ha I'd say case by case situation, like what what do you want to be ref re referred by now? It's hard for me sometimes to s Now I will say I have a problem It's hard, Robbie.

I'll tell you what, because I don't want to affirm. Their belief, as much as I love them and want to reach them, and been living here for 34 years. In Utah, you know, but if I say that they're the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I'm kind of doing them a dis I'm doing them a disservice. Because I'm, in a sense, I'm validating.

So their belief in the Jesus of the Bible, I believe it's a different Jesus, like Paul talked about in 2 Corinthians 11. He was nervous for the people there in Corinth. They would follow after a different gospel, a different spirit, and a different Jesus. Those are the words. They're used in 2 Corinthians 11.

So You know, I might say something like, Hey, what does your church teach, or are you being a member of your church? Um how do you Deal with such and though such and thus and so, you know, and kind of do it like that because. All those little nuances. You see, their their prophet who just died recently He said that they should not use the word Mormon. Um he wanted it he he he has the power to really dictate so much of the way that the people of this of this state think.

And so he just recently passed And so, who knows what the next prophet will say about that? But he can dictate these types of things.

So, is the prophet. Similar to like the Pope and the Catholic Church? Yeah, yeah, I would say that's that's very very much So very similar, yeah.

So like back when Gordon B. Hinckley was the president, or they call him the president and the prophet, you could say Mormon all day long. You could say that, and they had campaigns, you know, and I'm a Mormon, you know. When Mitt Romney was running for president, I remember that. That was a big thing.

Yeah. And so.

So yeah, we we we are we are just Just trying to you know, I'm gonna be outside in after our broadcast and working with a neighbor across the street who's a super guy and and he's a full fledged mor uh man who's uh a Mormon, you know, and so you know, they have the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Uh they call it the Tabernacle Choir now.

So It's a good talking point. You can say, well, no, why is that such a bad thing? And they'll probably say, well, they want to put more emphasis on Jesus Christ.

Well, there's a perfect opportunity to talk about who is Jesus, you know. You know, did he die for your sins? Did he take away all your sins on the cross? Or did he or did he do some of that in the Garden of Gethsemane? And how is that possible?

So whatever when you when you say that When you ask a Mormon, you know, who is Jesus to you? Did he take away all of your sins? It sounds like you're saying they don't believe he did.

Well, he basically, yeah, what they would teach, though, is that. He makes it possible for you to be worthy. Like he makes it possible. He made it possible for everyone to be resurrected, and they call that a type of salvation. But then they have that's general salvation, is resurrection.

So Jesus is. Um his his His activity that he did in the garden and on the cross gave everyone resurrection and not opposed to like annihilation. But then there's this thing called personal salvation or exaltation. And now that's all on you. And based on how well you perform in this life, How many different ways that you follow the Mormon prophet?

You have to get baptized in the Mormon church. gets sealed in the temple with all of its Masonry and all that sad Things that are just not biblical, and follow all the tenets of Mormonism, that'll determine if you end up. When you die in the telestial degree of glory, where the Holy Ghost will only visit you. Or the the terrestrial degree of glory where Jesus will only visit you. and you'll never see the father in either of those first two kingdoms.

So then the top kingdom is the celestial kingdom. And so this is kingdom pursuits. We're talking about the biblical. know kingdom of god but but this mormon kingdom these three kingdoms Are not sadly, and so that top one, there's actually three more in that one.

So, if you get into the top kingdom. Of the celestial degree of glory, that kingdom, then there's three more there. And if you're a really strong, good Mormon, then. you'll become a god. in that top top echelon that layer at the top of the cake So again, it's very, very similar.

when you think about it, to so many religions, right? Religion meaning it's going to be based on my merit. Right, the Jews, yeah, if you were to meet and talk at length with a Jew about You know how things work out for them in the resurrection, which some of them believe in, some of them don't. Depending on how they look, I guarantee you they will bring up the word merit. And it's similar to Muslims.

They have to merit those virgins. They have ways that they go about doing that. And the same thing again, because The human mind can't wrap its m self around the idea that You know, God would love us so much. that he would pay it all. And it would be based on his merit.

Not ours, right? Right, right. Yeah, and and your question earlier about what was my background. I I was born into a fourth Generation Mormon home. Uh my grandfather was actually a polygamist He left my grandmother to do what Joseph Smith did, and that was to have multiple wives.

He had two wives. And sadly, you know, this Was a A break off of the Mormon church that he got involved with. And thankfully it We we didn't have any interactions with with my grandfather. And so But but growing up in California, Um You know, I was always nervous as to the fact that my parents weren't sealed in the temple. They weren't worthy.

They didn't follow the code as much as they should have. And so I was never At peace to know that our family would be together in. in one of those degrees of glory even. And so there's a lot of pressure. Um to to Be just You know, wandering around.

I don't know. I mean, I was as a kid, I just didn't know what was going on, but. But I knew I was lost when I was invited to a Christian church, and the pastor was sharing about. how I could have a gift of of Jesus and know knowing him. and putting my faith in him, what he did for me on the cross, and I would No idea The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, you know?

I I would be with the triune god the one triune god and So it's easy sometimes for us, I think, just to think, well, you know, I've been a Christian for a while and And I have my struggles and my back hurts and You know, whatever whatever's going on, of course, okay, we have things going on, but man, with this crusade coming on november sixteenth, In ORAM at Utah Valley University. It's a big deal because this is a life-changing. Eternal You know, event, it's going to be amazing.

So we actually even have a dinner. uh two days beforehand that we're gonna have in Sandy, Utah. If anyone would like to go to it. or help contribute towards it. Um UPS You can read about it.

It's our yearly Thanksgiving banquet. But and so we're having it um In Sandy, Utah, and we'll probably have some people from the Harvest Crusade that are going to join us. give us a little update as to how everything's looking and And so um it's been really fun to to do a a our interview with Stu, with with Pastor Greg Laurie, and It's happening. You know, we've been trying to see this happen. a long time and God just put it in fast motion That's cool.

the day that you know, Red Glory came to Winston-Salem. Back in 2007. Or it might have been 2008, but... But the 9-11 there was a that day we were planning the Greg Laurie There was a meeting on 9-11. I'll never ever forget that when I get glory when he came to Winston.

We'll be right back with a whole lot more. You're listening to The Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. U Welcome back to King of Pursuits, where we hear how God takes your passion. And uses it to build the kingdom and have fun today. We have Russ East with our station in Utah with their upcoming Greg Glory event, the Harvest Crusade, going on November 16th, and also.

We have Jim. is in Greensboro is going to tell us, how did Moses know what the weather was like? at the top of Mount Sinai. I'm so excited to hear, Jim, what you think? I think Moses might have said: if I don't intervene, these idiots are going to catch hell.

Ha ha ha ha. Uh You know, that is so. That's perfect, isn't it, Nick? Like, we we gotta give him the um We gotta give him The choice of whatever he wants out of the Kingdom Pursuits Prize Vault.

Now, it's a little different than what I. was thinking.

However, I I would point out, Jim, I was thinking something along the lines of You know, in order to know the weather at the top of a mountain, You have to climb it. Excellent, excellent. You are a brilliant man. Very, very brilliant. You see, I have an IQ of sixteen.

Now that's the One six, man. One six. Really? No, I'm kidding. What do you say?

I I I always thought, really, this m this is my personal opinion, that the I Q test was kinda out the w you know. Out there somewhere. Like, I've known some people that supposedly had a completely low R IQ who could think me under the table practically many, many, many, many times override. Have you ever noticed that?

Well, I don't want to comment on that. I know you're smart and um They're smart people and I don't claim to be smart. I just have A meagre amount of intelligence.

Well What I have notice this God gifts everybody. With what what he's wanting You know, that that They have purposes, right, that he predetermined and he gave them very unbelievably cool gifts. And I love to watch people walk them out. And then they can go places. That God sends them like Russ does in Utah to speak to that group of people based on what the gifts that He's given them.

And so I know that is the case for you, Jim, and I am so grateful for you listening to the Truth Network and for what I know God's doing in your life. And obviously, maybe with the gospel back scratcher, who knows what gift you may choose. I don't know. Yeah. We we we can see what got Let me ask this question.

Do you have a an extra Uh gospel bird. An extra gospel what now? Bird, Gospel Bird, Yod Bird, Chicken. Do you know I need one? In this end, we we all do.

But nevertheless, you're very brilliant. I enjoy listening to you whenever I can. You have a lot to offer. You you two, I'm gonna leave you on hold so that um that Nick can get get with you on figuring out the right prize. And I'm I'm so grateful.

So Getting back to Rusty. in Utah.

So What did you think, Russ? Is that why Moses had to How he knew the climate at Mount Sinai.

Well, he was up there for a while, so Mm-hmm. I guess they didn't really have uh You didn't have a you couldn't have Siri, I guess, so Yeah. based on the thunderings and the lightnings and all that, seemed pretty stormy. You know, just saying.

So anyway. Rusty. You were talking and I think it's so amazing. Um That you were You're sharing your testimony. That there you were, you were very concerned, and I can imagine you would be about, you know, where's this part of my family when you have all these different levels.

So, what about, how did people reach you? How did you come to know Jesus?

Well, it It was because of a pastor at Santa Rosa Bible Church. in Northern California. Shared the gospel with me now that there had been one other time That was w w in nineteen seventy nine, so I was going into the eighth grade. Um prior to that, there was a an evangelist on our elementary school campus. I'll call him an evangelist because he was very fervent and very enthusiastic about Jesus.

And he knew I was Mormon, and I remember him. Just emphatically telling me I needed to trust in Jesus. He just he would do this, you know, and I I thought he was kind of a nutty kid. But Here I am talking about it, what, 45 years later, you know? And so So I think combination between Bobby Peterson So thank you, Bobby, for planting that seed and then Pastor Graves being faithful to share the gospel at church.

We were invited to go to this church, so So don't stop inviting your Mormon friends to church. Yeah, that's so awesome. And so I know everybody's got the same question I do. How about your parents? You know, when I told my dad that Sunday morning that I put my faith in Christ alone.

He told me something that I didn't expect. He said, Well, I have done the same thing, son. And I couldn't believe it. But he didn't he didn't tell our family because He was nervous that That possibly you know, my mother might divorce him because that's what would happen in in uh Mormon circles. And so Um You know.

It was amazing to hear that from my dad. And then, not too long after, my mom did get saved.

So she was. She was kind of inquisitive and curious about what what just happened to her son is as well and I think that kind of you know, opened up the door for us to start attacking. the Santa Rosa Bible Church and We went to camp that summer and And then um My brother got saved up at camp. Um I still have another brother who who who doesn't know the Lord and I'm tr just trying to share with him to this day. And so That's how I got saved.

I just was in the in the pew there and The gospel message was given just like kind of like at a Greg Laurie Harvest Crusade and I just Put my faith in Christ right there and rose my hand and told the pastor that way that I had done that. And he talked with me afterwards. Just have had a lot of great Great experiences going to Utah from that point on and And then the Lord just opened the door for us to move to Utah back in 1994. And so how did you meet Stu Epperson?

So when we when my wife and I, let's see, we were at the master's college. And so, um So, you know, I just met him at a class. I remember we had a a communications class together. And um And that was where I met Stu. And so Yeah, just ever since then.

We we've connected and And if I was Um ever of you know, available to do his Truth Talk live show, we would we'd do that a number of times and talk about our mission trip ministry and then and the opportunity came about for the station to be bought here in Utah in two thousand eight.

So I've just been Yeah, I remember that well. And there's no explaining the the excitement that's too had Um in 2008 when he and you know, his excitement about What God was doing in Utah through your ministry and how cool it would be to have you join the Truth Network and You know, we have God has used that so mightily. Like, man, some of the neatest testimonies I have ever heard on the Truth Network were from people in Utah. Right, right. Like the story of the cat.

If nobody's ever heard that one, you got to hear it. Oh, sure, sure. Yeah, this is a true story. Like a little business card to somebody in downtown Ogden or somewhere in Ogden. That card got to a a lady who had recently become a widow.

Uh this widow Um She calls me and says, You won't believe this, but I got your card from some random person. And then I'm a She's in her apartment. She says.

Well, our my cat, Stella, the other day was pouncing on my radio and turned it on And the radio was tuned to AM820. your station. And now I have your card. I have stolen the cat. I've got the radio going and it's on, and I just want to thank you for this station.

It means so much to me. And With that, I think I've got a a joke for you, Robbie. All right. Now, okay, what's the difference between a good Mormon and a bad Mormon? Oh man, fortunately, we're going to a break right now, so I can think it over.

Oh, we'll come back. If you come back, I'll give you the answer. I'm looking forward to that more than you know. But we gotta hear more about Stella the Cat. This is more than amazing.

This cat knows how to tune into the Truth Network. And so I will be right back with a whole lot more. What's going on in Utah? November 16th. At Greg Laura at Crusade.

Stay tuned. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to King of Pursuits, where we hear how God It takes your passion and uses it to build a kingdom so fun Actually, Russ East. And his Podcast, by the way, is Utah's Passion for Christ. His ministry is Utah Partnerships for Christ, which again, they have missions going into Utah all the time.

Like, if your church wants to be involved and sending people over there, and you know, Rusty can help them tune into what they need to be doing while they're over there. Really, really. Neat opportunities. partnership for crisis, Russ is Um Again, his website and his ministry, and there we got this great harvest. Crusade coming up.

On November 16th. But when we left our hero, Russ, you had a joke for me, which I had pondered through the entire break, and I still had the same results. Prior to the break. Of what's the difference between a good Mormon and a bad Mormon? Right.

Right. This is all in fun, okay? The answer is is the answer is very obvious.

Okay, for all of us here living in Utah, and if you have any background, be Mormon. I'll explain it. I'll explain this. Why it's funny. There's the answer: what's the difference between a good Mormon and a bad Mormon is.

the temperature that they drink their caffeine.

Now that's funny. Come on now. All right. I'm actually hearing some joy in the. It's funny.

And so apparently the g I know that Water is a big deal to Mormons, and so if they get their coffee through iced tea or coffee, would they get their caffeine through iced tea or coffee? Right, right. See, so here's the thing: it's like back in the early days of the Mormon church. You had a thing where they said no hot drinks.

Okay, for some reason. Yeah, and what is with the hot drinks? There's some folklore that maybe someone tried to poison Joseph Smith or something like that. You know, but this is it's it's it's it's funny, it's ironic, it's sad, you know, and and so yeah, it's okay to be kind of lighthearted with this one, I think, of course, like we were doing earlier. But uh You you can oftentimes drink like, you know, ice Maybe coffee or maybe like a Coca-Cola, you know, and there's all these questions of who owns Coca-Cola, you know, and And these are just some areas I think that it sadly the Mormon Church has had a control on people.

You know, they might say it's for your health purposes, for part of part of the word of wisdom, but yet there's nothing in the word of wisdom that says you're not supposed to to eat sugary foods.

So, you know, what's going on here?

Some of these things, you know. It's a little bit humorous, and I think it's a little tongue-in-cheek here. And I think a lot of Mormon people out here will agree that.

Some of that stuff is just over time, you're like, well, what's going on? Why can't I make a decision? If I want to have, you know, a a Dr. Pepper or Or what have you, you know? Cup of coffee, that's good.

It's scary. Moderation, you know. Yeah. Wow.

So. Yeah, and that just gets back to the whole idea of I have to merit Yeah. To some extent, you know, where I end up in eternity. And. And you know, it like you say, it's it's literally slavery.

So when you see those people come knocking on your door, Um You know, they are they're deeply concerned. They have Like, man. I need to make sure that I end up in the right place so I can be with my family, right? Right, right, right. And you know Um I could give you one more joke.

Okay. Th th th this one this one is is a It I I want to be sensitive uh on this topic here because nope nope.

Okay, here we go. Um what happens when you and I'm gonna give an explanation of this too, like the last one.

Okay. But what do you get what do you get when you combine L S D and L D S? Oh, similar to my earlier job. No.

Okay, I'm excited about this one. What do you get? Oh. You get a high priest. Yeah.

So now let's just stop for a minute.

Now we know that that's not funny for people to get to get high on LSD, but here's something to be mindful of: is that In Mormonism, you have a structure. of of um Rank, and I mean, from the time that you're eight years old, twelve years old. You go from deacon to elder, deacon, elder, teacher, and um. You can teach your elder, and you go up the ranks, and then if you become a bishop. You know, then you can become a high priest.

And so I was in a Sunday school class with about probably thirty high priests In the ward building, we were at the mission team. And and I was just courteously asking a question. Amongst these high priests. And I said, what if Jesus never Went to the garden of Gethsemane and he only went to the cross. Would that have been enough?

to pay for our sins. and you know the the the teacher for that class didn't have an answer for me. The people, the guys in that men's. Mormons Book of Mormon study. They didn't know what to say.

And I I was just trying to ask a question that would get people to think. How much do you really put your weight on the fact that The the Lamb of God Had to die. That's the only way that. That the Sin of mankind could be paid for. His perfect life, his perfect righteousness.

was a gift to us.

So we Have this great exchange. We just bring our sin. He brings his righteousness to us and And it's an exchange. The Garden of Gethsemane, he was sworn. Wedding, as it were, drops of blood, and he was in anguish, and he was.

Ministered to by an angel. Oh, we got to go to another break for us T. Yeah. Well, actually, I guess we're done with breaks, but we've got to remind people. Man, there's so much more to learn.

And to find out about it, you've got to go to Rusty's podcast. That's Utah Passion for Christ. or his Ministry Utah Partnership for Christ. It's it's used our part what's the website address for us?

Okay. UPF There you go. And so we want to remind you up coming up next is Um Encouraging prayer with Dr. James Bangs. And again, Russ, thanks so much for being on with us today.
