And uh So let's give you a heads up of what I did this weekend and um I went and spent some time with my friend Bill McKeever, founder and director of Mormonism Research Ministry. And also, Eric Johnson and his lovely wife Terry went down and on Saturday went down to a Jehovah's Witness convention. And uh where was that one? That's Provo area.

And I stood up front in 103 degrees weather and just held up signs. Rob Savolka showed up. And that was fun. It was a good time. We had a good time.

And just stood there and held up signs. And, you know, so. We are trying to witness, trying to do what we can, and it was fun. Went to eat and drove back yesterday.

Now, all the way down there, when I was driving, I got on, I have a headset and I did theology for four and a half hours while I'm driving. Four and a half hours. Oh, it was great. I love theology. I loved talking with the Lord.

and defending it against the false religions like Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses. Eastern Orthodoxy, Roman Catholicism, and things like that. And then I went and stopped by a church, I forgot, Refuge Church in Ogden. and uh met uh my uh uh friend Jamin. He's great, Bill's son.

And I met a couple that was there. I'm trying to remember their name. I remember, I think his name. Uh His was Carter, and then hers was Victoria. That's right, and so.

I don't know if they're listening at all. They like the show. They're just waving. Hey, how are you doing? It was nice meeting them.

Good church, good people, good fellowship, and drove home. And here we are, and now we're on radio. And speaking of that, let's get to Gil from New York. Gil, welcome. You're on the air.

The world, as Jesus said in John 8:12, thanks for talking to me and thank you for your kindness. I love you forever, tougher than leather. I want to quote a couple of scriptures and then maybe you can talk to me about something I heard from years ago. I don't know if you ever heard of Pastor Kennedy Van Dyke, he was a five-point Calvinist. And I'm glad.

mention that in a moment. I know that in Romans 10.9 it says If thou shalt confess with thy mouth and believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. And in John 3:16, it says, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish. But have everlasting life.

Now, I don't know if you ever heard of Henry Van Dyke. He used to do the Family Bible Reading Fellowship on Family Radio for a long time. And one of the things he mentioned that came to my head now is when it talks about. For God so loved the world. Do you believe that's talking about the world of the elect?

I mean, that's what he believed as well. I'm just wondering.

Well, my view is that the word world means all the nations because Because covenantally, Jesus was not sent to the world. He was not sent to the Jews and the Gentiles. He was only sent to the world. He was only sent to the lost sheep of the house of Israel, Matthew 15, 24. And then Israel.

Israel broke the covenant, and we, the Gentiles, are grafted in.

So God so loved the world, not just a Jewish nation.

Okay. Yeah. Oh, okay, 'cause um I just was wondering if you ever heard him before. And I promise I'll talk to Steve Gregg. I'll let him know that I spoke to you as well.

I was trying to get through, but the lines were busy.

So, um when did you meet Steve Gregg, by the way? How um how was that? Years ago? Tw twenty some odd years ago, twenty-five years ago, or something like that. Really?

And we had a discussion and uh yeah, and I was reformed, he was not. Let's just say I stuck with mine into the bargain. But uh he's a good guy, and I would be glad to debate him on reform theology sometime if he wanted to do that.

So it would be an interesting discussion. That would be great.

Now in Jeremiah 29, 11 it says, For I know the plans That I have for you declares the Lord plans to prosper you, not to harm you, plans, and give you hope in the future.

Now, the word plans, does that mean plans in the uh Hebrew, or does it mean thoughts? I'd point towards you and you're not going to be able to do it. Period. Jeremiah. 2911.

The plans there, the word, is uh Maharsh bat. And it means um Thoughts, device, purpose. Uh imagination three times cunning.

So it could mean plans, thoughts. Oh, good.

So, yeah. Jeremiah 29, 11, the varying versions. Render it as plans, plans. King James says thoughts. RSV says plans, LAB says plans, NIV says plans.

So, uh, there you go. Wow, I was afraid that I was saying it wrong. Yeah, I wasn't sure I was misinterpreting it wrong. 'Cause that was one of my girlfriend's favorite verses that she loved. She memorized that, you know, when she became a believer.

Um of course my Nancy died. But it's not about Christians. People often take that verse, rip it out of context. Yeah, it's about the Jews. Yeah, Hebrews.

Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah, it's a powerful thing. But can you still say that God has a good plan for our lives if He chooses us before the foundation of the world, right?

Well, you see, when you say good plan, that's up to debate. What I think is good, what God thinks. What I think is good, what God thinks is good, might not be the same thing.

Okay, that makes sense. All right. Oh, that makes sense. By the way, I have one of the nurses listening to you. Her name is Amy, so she she remember your name.

Now, just a point of contention, Jeremiah 29:11. You know, I know the plans I have for you, he says. not for harm, but for prosperity. And people will take that and they say, See, that applies to me. No, it doesn't.

It applies to the Jewish people.

So it was an inside it's a letter from Jeremiah sent from Jerusalem to the Jewish exiles.

So it's a specific context. He has for them, they're in there, they're being exiled and under bondage and things like that. And God says, I have plans for you. That's it.

Now, if you want to apply it to yourself, you know, what people will often do. is they take what they like. And it says, For I know the plans I have for you, declared the Lord plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you future and hope.

So sometimes people say welfare. Oh, that means money. Oh, so God wants me to have money. This has nothing to do with the Christian. Mm-hmm.

And I have to correct people a lot. Because the previous verse says, For thus says the Lord, when seventy years has been completed for Babylon, I will visit you and fulfill my good word to you to bring you back to this place. It's the exiles who are in the Jews who are in exile. That's what it's addressed to.

So, this is specific to them.

So, I just say to people: be careful when you take an Old Testament verse that applies to yourself. Just be careful. It doesn't mean all verses can't, or there are anything like that. Of course, you can. It's just you've got to be careful.

That's what I'm saying. All right, now let's get to Oscar from New York. Oscar, welcome. You're on the air. Yes, uh thank you.

I was uh listening to a family radio station Where is a Bible teacher? He says that the church age has ended in 1988. I'm kind of confused. I go where the Bible has said. Yeah.

Yeah, that's that's false, okay? Yeah, it's uh it's just it's bunk. There are a lot of people who come up with some false things, a lot of things, you know. Um There's the Millerites, and they had an idea, and it led into the Seventh-day Adventists and the Jehovah's Witnesses, and then they have date setting, and then various things. It's.

Uh it's I think it's for the book any reasons to believe uh Rapture will be in 1988. And so they just need to stop doing that. They need to stop. Making prophecies like that. It is, because the rapture is going to happen in 1988.

Well, Jesus says the rapture doesn't happen until after the wicked are taken. That's out of Matth Matthew thirteen. And what I'll do with people who believe this, I'll just quote them these verses and show them things. Matthew 24, it talks about after the tribulation of those days, he'll send forth his angels and gather the elect. After the tribulation is when the rapture occurs.

It's so clear. And when people, they say, pre-tribulation rapture or 1988, and it's just 88 reasons for 1988. 88, 1988 is not arbitrarily completely, but it's supposed to be set off the date of the birth of Christ. Except that that date is wrong because technically speaking, Jesus was born three to four years earlier than the present calendar.

So instead of saying 2026, if they were to go with how it really was with Jesus, it'd be the year 2030 right now.

So It's just Date setters should stop. They should do what Jesus says. Look at the heavens, look at the signs of the times, just prepare. This pre-tribulation rapture thing that has caused problems like this, they need to not set dates, okay? Mm yeah.

Yeah, this is. Hi, Matt. I have a question. All right. What do you what do you got?

What is the wrong what's wrong with saying I will not take medication because God must heal me? Or l is the lack of faith Some customs they teach that Don't take medication. Where does the Bible command believers to stop taking medications if you it's a I know. The stake medicine shows lack of faith?

Okay. No, it doesn't. The Bible says, 1 Timothy 5.23, No longer drink water exclusively, but use a little wine for your sake for your stomach and for your frequent ailments.

So wine was considered to be some sort of a Medicine. And so I guess Timothy didn't have enough faith, right? Because Paul said, take some wine for your ailments.

Well, the idiocy, the stupidity, I'm just going to say it flat out, idiocy, stupidity, of these people who have said, don't go to doctors, don't take medicine. If you do, it means you don't have faith. That's foolishness. Absolute foolishness. You know, my wife, she had open heart surgery about five, six years ago.

And it saved her life. If she hadn't done it, she'd have died. Of course, she passed away from something else, but years later. But there's nothing wrong with going to a doctor, get your teeth filled. Look, I just went and got my prescription uh uh um up dot up.

modified or updated. For my uh glasses. I don't have enough faith. No, God uses medicine, he uses uh doctors, he uses people, and we're to Utilize them because God has gifted people. to do this.

So no. If you go to a doctor, it doesn't mean you don't have enough faith because you can have faith that the doctor is going to be good. I remember. And I remember the expression of my wife, her face. when uh back in Salt Lake City area years ago when she went for her open art surgery.

We couldn't guarantee she was going to make it. and remember her face as they wheeled her off. and hours later got to see her. And It was not an issue, they should have faith in God. She had faith that if she passed away on the table, she'd be with the Lord.

And she put her faith and trust in Jesus and in the doctors that he had gifted. And she came through it.

So You know? This stupidity of people saying this, they don't have enough faith. And that's why they're ill. It's just dumb. Hey, hold on, brother.

Matt, I have one more question associated with this question. If God is not changing, why the Esakia prayed and then God extended fifteen more years? And also Esakia has a pleased two, then God will.

Okay, God changing is not the same as God modifying what He says He'll do with people. When you say God changes, you're talking about His essence and His nature. God does not change. It doesn't mean that he won't work with someone. And you go to j I think it's Jeremiah 18, 8.

Let me see. We seek to remember this. Jeremiah. 18 I think is this. If that nation against which I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent.

Concerning the calamity I planned to bring on it.

So, what God does is. He will threaten you, you repent, and he doesn't bring about what he threatened you to do. Because if they repent, okay.

So he uses that threat as a means to bring them to repentance.

So that's what's going on.

So it's not an issue of him changing. We just perceive how he works. and we see the relationship of his plans with us. And that's all that's going on, okay?

Now my question was Isaiah thirty eight, one to five. If God is unchanging, why did God extend Hezekiah's life after he prayed? God is not changing means his nature. is nature Think about it. God had the Jews do sacrifices in the Old Testament.

He doesn't want those sacrifices any more. That doesn't mean God changed. It means how he was dealing with people changed based on the things that would occur. If he was telling them to have sacrifices, And he knows that when Jesus comes, that's the true sacrifice, there's no longer any need for sacrifices.

So he says sacrifice, sacrifice, Jesus comes along, is the true sacrifice, doesn't need any more sacrifices. Doesn't mean God changed. It means his plan was carried out.

Okay. You know, uh my question is, did prayer change God's plan? Despite change God's plan. Yes and no.

So in uh Hezekiah, who was gain who gained fifteen years, from eternity past, God knew that would or would occur. He ordained it. But he also ordains the means.

So Hezekiah got afraid, asked God, and it really did make a difference with God. And so, from all eternity, as I like to say, God. Ordained that Hezekiah would influence him to increase his life. God ordained that. God planned that.

Okay? What do you mean by means there? the means of of his prayer and petition to God. And God allowed that to influence him, but it was God's plan from forever ago. influence them.

Well, let me give you one two seconds of um Before I ask the question, I've read the Bible from cover to cover two or three times and study it a lot. And I have trouble understanding some parts. But when I get to the book of Revelations, I might as well be reading French or something. I I have I get nothing out of it, and I just wondered if you had. Any recommendations where I could go to find somebody that has So that I can understand what it says.

Well, I'll help you in two ways. One, you can go to khouse.org, and Chuck Missler has a lot of stuff on the Book of Revelation, from what I understand. I'm sorry, say that again. What what's dot org? Um K.

The letter K. And the word house. K stands for Koinanio. K-House. K-House.org.

K-House. Okay, good night. and look at Revelation studies. And you can also just get commentaries on Revelation.

Okay, you're gonna have to study. If you want to study Revelation. But here, look, think of Revelation as As an index. All right? Think of it as an index.

It'll help you.

So let me give you an example of something, all right? If you go to Revelation 5:8. When he had taken the book, The four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down. Four living creatures. What are those poor living creatures?

Well, now you've got to go back into the Old Testament and you've got to look. What are the four living creatures? I'm not exactly sure, but What we find is in Revelation 4:6 through 8. I'll go back a little bit to show you. and before the throne there was something like a sea of glass.

Now Okay, there's so many things here. A sea of glass like crystal, and in the center and around the throne four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind. The first creature was like a lion, the second creature like a calf, the third the face of a man, and the fourth was an eagle.

Now Mm-hmm.

So, in Revelation 5.8, it says four creatures.

Well, it's also mentioned in Revelation 4, 6 through 8. and it mentions the sea of glass. What does that mean?

Well, in Exodus 24, 9 through 11, it says, Moses, Aaron, Nadab, and Abuhu, and 70 of the elders of Israel went up and they saw the God of Israel, and under his feet. There appeared to be a pavement of sapphire as clear. as the sky itself.

So now we see in Revelation 4:6, it was something like a sea of glass, like crystal. This is reflective, no pun intended. Of Exodus 24, 9 through 11, and other places where the throne of God is mentioned. And it's on something clear. You go, oh, he's referencing something, the sea of glass.

Jews would understand that because it's referenced in the Old Testament. And the four living creatures.

Now you've got to stop and you've got to go look up where the four living creatures are. Turns out, the four living creatures are mentioned in the Old Testament as well. Believe it or not.

So, for example, In the The Exodus when the twelve tribes camped around the tabernacle. They are twelve tribes, a clan uh this can excuse me. In four Groups of three. Four. Four groups of three and each of those groups, those three groups.

Three and three and three and three. Each of those four those three groups had a flag that represented them. lion, ox, Eagle Man.

Okay. just like Revelation is talking about. And you go to the book of Daniel. And you'll see the same thing. A lion, ox, eagle, and man.

Did you know? That Matthew was considered the lion, Mark the ox, Luke. Excuse me, the angel, angel was Matthew, lion was Mark. That's one of the things I've heard, John is the eagle.

So the lion oxen were men. There were four references of the four Gospels. Why four?

Now you gotta go look up the word for. Why the word for? Like right now, for example, what I'm doing on my computer. Am I going to Genesis? Genesis.

I just hit Genesis 1, so I'm at the very beginning. I'm hitting a Control F. I'm typing the word 4. The first word we have is fourth. Fourth day.

God's let the waters uh the the fourth day, excuse me. Two great lights in the heaven and the sky. Does it mean anything? Fourth day is an ordinal. But it's not the number four.

I wonder if it makes any difference.

So I'm gonna look. Go to the next one. And it says the river flowed out of Eden to the water garden and it divided and became four rivers. Does that mean something? Hold on, we got a break, so hold on, okay, brother.

Alright now I went quickly because of the break, but let me just add a little bit more. There's four um Uh Let's see, here's my notes. There are four rivers out of Eden, four winds from heaven. four corners of the earth, four living creatures, four horsemen, Four is the kingdom in Daniel's vision. Four Gospels, Okay.

So the fourth commandment is the first that refers to the earth. The fourth clause of the Lord's Prayer is the first that mentions the earth. it apparently, for, references something earthly. And so you could say, okay, four creatures. This is something related probably to the earthly realm.

And you can see that. Yeah. They're related.

Now you've got to be careful because this is so broad, there's so many things. You know, there's four materials of the tabernacle. Yeah. For the coverings.

So, what does form mean? It seems to deal with all the things related to on the earth. And the four Gospels are for us on earth, etc.

So Here's the thing about studying Revelation. You don't just read it. Hey, I didn't get it. You study it. It's an index.

It doesn't have page numbers.

So the four creatures, you go in a normal book, an index has four creatures. Turn to page 36, turn to page 112. Etc. What you do now is you take the word four and you go look. You look at four creatures online.

What does it mean? And this is how you study it.

Okay. Wow, okay. Yeah, I understand. It's not certainly just reading it, and I'm reading two or three more times, but. Just reading it, I really still don't get didn't get anything out of it on and so I I needed to have some way of That's what you do.

It's a it's very rewarding to study like that. But it's going to take you a long time. You go to the very first verse of Revelation, you know. You score the very first verse. The revelation of Jesus Well, what does that mean?

Was it mean the revelation? was the Greek word. Apocalypsis, the Apocalypse. the the revelation, sometimes the return of Christ. Which God gave to him.

Wait a minute, Jesus is God.

So God gave to him.

Well, if he's God, why would he need it to be given to him? What's the answer? Because he is forever in his lowered position in the Incarnation. and it was given by the Father to show to his bond servants. which is the word uh duloi.

which means slaves. But a bondservant was this a voluntary slave who loved his master's house and would say, I want to stay with you for the rest of my life when he could be he could be free. And he would go when they when that deal was made, he would go to the to the uh doorpost and they would stamp a hole in his earlobe. I forgot which one. Stamp a hole, which meant he was a bond slave, which meant he wasn't forced, he was choosing it.

Bond slave, the things which must soon take place.

Now we got a problem.

Soon? That was two thousand years ago. How does God use the word soon? You start studying, you take notes.

Okay, and he sent he communicated into it by his angel. Wait a minute.

So the revelation was given of Jesus. Is it given to Jesus or is it Jesus' revelation? and is transmitted by an angel to John. Apparently an angel can influence a mind to see things. That's just first one.

Okay? Well well canot or uh kind of helped me along north way of uh doing that sort of thing. Khouse.org, Chuck Missler. I had the privilege of attending his live Bible studies. When he was back on, you know, back around and in Southern California.

And so he's just a great teacher. And I don't agree with everything he says. Like he's premillennial. He was preacher of rapture. I don't agree with that.

But that's okay. I learned a great deal from him. And he's a good, he was with the Lord now, good man of God. But you might find it'd be helpful there. You can go there and you can get a, I would get, I would recommend getting a reformed Commentary in the book of Revelation.

And read them because they're not going to agree in every particular. And you can see why one says one thing and another says another. And you can go, oh, I see why they're doing that. I see why both of us say this understanding. It's not that it's contradictory, as in God's word is contradictory, but it's just tough tough sometimes to understand things.

And so this is what it means to study. This is how you study.

Okay, a lot of people don't know how to study the word, and I need to teach them how to, but that's what you do.

Okay, I need to do some of that, that's for sure. First, I thought I was just ignorant or something, but I don't think, yeah, I just need to. Taking a different approach. If you were to read a textbook And everything makes sense. And then you go to the index and you read it.

You don't read an index the same way you read everything else. It's meant to refer to the Old Testament. And that's what's going on. Because I never knew that I never heard that before. Yeah, it's good.

And then you'll hear in verse 4: the seven churches which are in Asia. You have to look up the word Asia. What does it mean Asia back then? What seven churches? Why seven?

What does the word seven mean?

So here's the thing that will happen. This is what will happen. You're going to be pushing a rock uphill for a while because you're gaining everything is a new something. And after a while, you've learned enough where you go, oh, I think I know what that means.

Now you don't have to dig as hard. And so pushing this rock uphill becomes easier and easier and easier until you run into something that makes no sense. Good.

Now it's time to study even more, a different way. And God blesses you in it. And there's a blessing to those who study the book of Revelation. who do this. A special blessing for them.

All right? All right. So I won't ever again expect to just read through it and understand it. I have to do a whole lot more than that.

So, this is what it says in Revelation 22:7. Behold, I'm coming quickly. Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book. Yeah. Blessing there.

I'm doing all right. What do you got, man? What's up? Oh, look at the book of Judah.

Now, let me uh Extra quick question here. John, somebody quoted from the Constitution, you believe I'm right. I can't believe someone that quote the Constitution. I can't just say yes or no. They might quote it out of context and misrepresent it.

Okay? No, the fact that they're actually quoting from the actual Constitution. Like, if the President was to get up and quote something out of the Constitution, you'd believe that, right? Let me just say this again. I believe what the words say in context, okay?

All right. So, but go ahead. What's your question?

Okay, well, I'm talking about the credibility of. the credibility of the Constitution. That's what I'm saying. Okay, you want to talk about the Constitution? Yeah, sure.

No, no, no, no, no, I'm just making a point.

Okay, now. My point in saying that is Okay, you got the book of Jud of Judah, and he quotes from Enoch.

Okay. Yes. Nobody knows anything really. The average person doesn't know anything about the book of Enoch.

So my question is, uh why isn't the book of Enoch in the sixty-six books? One of the 66 books, if he's going to quote from it. Just because someone quotes something doesn't mean it's true. If you were to go, it doesn't mean it's inspired, let's just say. If you were to go to Carm, for example.

Look what I'm doing right now, and you type in other books. mentioned in the Bible, all right? And I have an article I wrote back in 2008. I have twenty two books Referenced. in the book of in in the Bible.

That are not scripture. Twenty-two. Book of the Wars of the Lord. Numbers 21.14, the book of Joshua, and Joshua 10.13. The Chronicles of David, 1 Chronicles 27, 24.

And it goes on. Just because something's quoted doesn't mean it's inspired. It doesn't mean it's blown clean. Yeah, but you're not an author of the Bible, okay?

So you can't. I'm not talking about you. I'm talking about the actual Bible. that people read. You ask the question.

You know what I'm saying? You're not an author of the Bible. Yeah, I know that. You asked the question: why isn't the book of Enoch in the scriptures? My first point is: just because somebody.

Yeah, he's going to quote from it. My here l l let me say the response again. Just because something's quoted in the Bible doesn't mean everything in it is inspired. It quotes Satan. Does it mean what everything Satan says is inspired?

You know, when this was positive, this is a good thing he was quoting. Oh, my God. You know, he was a prophet. He said he called him the seven. The seven from Adam.

Cole, Cole, you gotta think. You gotta stop, and you gotta think. All right. You ask why isn't the Book of Enoch in there? And the f I said the first point Just because something is quoted doesn't mean it's inspired.

That's just the first point. The second is the Christians didn't consider it to be inspired.

Okay? Well, your first point is it's not good. It's not good. I don't agree with it.

Well, you're wrong. You can disagree, but you're disagreeing with truth.

Call, you're back on the air. No, okay, let's move to the next one. Matt, I got you. I'm not really sure about that one. With you okay, the last one I'm going to talk about here is Michael the Archangel.

Okay, now he says it. Michael didn't dispute over Moses' body But right before that, he says those guys were talking bad about angels or doing something bad about angels. What's that all about? Don't revile angels. They have the presence of God.

They're in the presence of God to carry out God's will. They are representatives of God.

So if you revile angels, you're reviling the representatives of God. It's not wise to do that.

Okay. Oh, okay, good, good. All right, I was understanding.

Okay, that's good. Thank you. Thank you for that. Yeah. Okay, but now Moses now why was Why do you think that of?

He was disputing over Moses' body. What is that all about? Probably the we the conjecture is that if Satan could have had Moses' body, he could have used it as a device to cause idol worship, where they would honor his body as a relic. and then bow before it and do things. which is what the Catholic churches do.

And the stupidity of that kind of stuff.

So Satan wanted to do that. That's the conjecture. He wanted to do that. That's why God says, nope.

So, okay. Yeah, and then I I I thought about it, uh mo it didn't it didn't got kind of Bury Moats on the mountaintop or something. Yeah, don't know where he's buried. That was it. It was God's business.

And so that we don't know. And that's it.

Okay. Well, one more point about that. You know, he the transfiguration uh Moses appeared there.

Now is something strange going on?

Okay, now, um I think the two witnesses are going to be Uh Elijah and uh Enoch. because this point was for a man to die. Neither one of those guys died.

Now I don't know why everybody says it's going to be Moses and Elijah.

Okay, so take a break. Hold on. Hold on, hold on. Let me jump in here. Help you out, okay?

Moses, when he appeared, it wasn't in his body. His body is the thing that decayed.

So the resurrection, the unification of the spirit and the body hadn't occurred yet.

Okay, that's one thing. And some say it's Moses and Elijah, law and prophets.

Some say Enoch and Elijah, just for the reason you said it's pointed at Menadai once, Hebrews 9.27.

So that's just one of the theories. We don't know exactly, and either one I think works, and that's it, okay? No, it's not it's not clear, huh? Yeah, like you said, it's got God's business and his timing.

So Yeah, a lot of that stuff, I don't know, Mandy. You gotta be real careful, Matt, when you say symbolic because I think some of it's not symbolic.

Some of it is and some of it's not. But some of the stuff you call symbolic, I don't quite I don't quite agree with it.

Well, then when it comes with the millennial reigns, you got that wrong.

Well, you can certainly have that opinion, and I'm just telling you what I quote scripture in these things. And that's it.

Okay, so there you go. All right. Well, I'm just saying uh you do a little more research. about it and do a little more research. And if you come up with a different type of thing, just say it on the air.

So we're just going to move along. All right. All right, let's get to Charlie from North Carolina. Charlie, welcome. You're on the air.

Hey, brother, you're no doctor, but I'm going to trust you with the answer, okay?

Sounds good. All right. All right. Nah, you're great, man. Um, so, um I gotta tread real lightly because I've got a little bit of fear even asking this.

So, God is not, we know, like, I know He's not the author of sin. Like, sin was not His plan. I guess it was his plan. Be careful you say things like this. God planned for sin to be in the world.

Not that He caused it, but it was within His sovereign plan. That's what I mean. That's. That's what I mean. I just don't understand.

Like, so as Reformed people, like, we believe that even the cast of the die, the answer is from the Lord. Like, even the casting of lots, like everything is under his sovereignty and his planning.

So How, like, so as God, before, as God is thinking. Of creating the universe and eternity past, or whatever, and he has it in his mind and he begins to speak things into existence. As he's creating Lucifer, he knows what's going to happen. Adam and Eve, he knows all these things from the beginning to the end of the world and the age. Like, how can I reconcile Like, I know that God doesn't cause what?

How do you reconcile? Finish this question there. How does God reconcile? How do we reconcile that God doesn't cause sin? But he planned it.

Like, I mean, like, how did there be?

Okay. So I often use this analogy. My wife and I planned to have children, and we did. We didn't cause them to sin, but they chose to.

So it's within the plan my wife and I know our children are going to make mistakes and do bad things.

Okay. That is mean by knowing. Free will is the ability to make a choice consistent with your nature that's not forced on you.

So all people have free will in that context. The free will of the unbeliever is restricted to his nature.

So he's sinful, enslaved to sin, he'll make free choices consistent with sinfulness. But there's lots of theories about why God would do what He does and how. But genuine love requires a certain degree of freedom. And the fall is an occasion for God to display His holiness and His uh sacrifice and His love. And redemption was not a backup plan.

Because We were chosen for salvation before the foundation of the world. Ephesians 1:4 and 5 of 2 Thessalonians 2:13.

So, this is all part of God's plan.

Now, people sometimes think a plan means God made every single thing happen. No. That's not what it means biblically. Within God's sovereignty. He planned for the fall.

He knew what was going to happen, and it's within his sovereign plan.

Okay, um Yeah, that that that kinda that kinda resolves it.

So, um Um Can I ask one more question? Sure, go ahead.

So, man. It's a day in this day and age, like lit being married. you know, is Really tough. You know, I mean, I spent 13 years in prison and I've been out for a little while. I'm married.

Finding it just really hard to understand, like, you know. Just the way, like all the social media and all the stuff, and it's like, I don't know. Let me get, let me just pause. How can a man like how am I supposed to Be patient and endure, and like, what does that look like? And biblically, like, what are my responsibilities?

Like Okay. In terms of spiritual leadership and headship in the home.

Alright, let me give you some lessons here, okay?

Now you've got to understand something. The Trinity is the foundation of all truth. In the Trinity, the Father sent the Son, and the Son was sent by the Father. The Son was under the submission of the will of the Father, but it does not mean that the Son is inferior by position. And Jesus is the one who's the head of the church, you're the head of the wife.

This means whether you like it or not, you carry that same type of authority and responsibility.

So your job is a husband is to lead your wife biblically and patiently. The way I would do that if I was you. You is to start in the book of Matthew, verse 1. And scan through and read through and read how Jesus is. Read and study Jesus.

How did he react when people insulted him? How did he react when? He was tired. How did he react when people didn't help him out? Whatever it is, whatever sticks to you.

You make a note. He was patient, he was kind.

Now think about this. Jesus is God influenced. How did he use his great power and authority and position? He used it to serve. to help.

to be patient. to lay down his life for, to provide, to protect. That's you. You are to represent Christ in your family.

Now, I'm going to tell you flat out: you'll do well for about the first 0.28 seconds.

Okay, then you're going to mess up. Yeah. And. Trust me, I know about this, okay? And then, what you do is you go.

Now, Christ didn't have to repent because he's God, but you need to go to your wife. When you make a mistake, just own up. It's not up to her to forgive. It's not up to her to accept it or respect you based on what you do. Her job is to respect you based on who you are, the husband.

Whether she likes it or not, that's her responsibility. You're not to be concerned so much with hers as you are with yours. You are supposed to be concerned with her and praying for her, lifting her up, et cetera. But you lead her in patience. When something goes wrong, you guide.

And I sometimes say, think of a child. A wife is not a child, but what do you do with a child who makes a mistake? You beat the child, you say, no, that's okay, we'll try it again. It's patience and love that we can show to others so well that we sometimes fail to show to our own spouses. And you've got to learn how to do that.

Oh yeah, and you wanna know why? I'll tell you why. Because you're you're a sinner. Should I? That's it.

You're a sinner and you're going to fail. And trust me, buddy, if we were in the same room talking, we'd be boasting in our failures. Oh, yeah, you think it was bad? Let's listen to this one. You know what we'd be talking?

Yeah. But it doesn't excuse us from the responsibility of living for Christ. And you have to think of of your wife this way. Who are you guarding? What are you guarding her from?

How are you doing that? You need to get on your knees and ask Jesus to teach you how to guard your wife, to keep your wife. You open the door for her. Getting into a car, you open the door. Getting into a building, you open the door for her.

You take care of her. You speak kindly to her. And when she does something you don't like, you simply talk to her. Hon, you know, I didn't appreciate that. We just really talked about this.

And you pray for her, you lead her spiritually. We're almost out of time here, I can't get into this too much. This is what you're supposed to be doing. Her job. is not your concern.

In the broad sense. It is in the sense that you want to lead her and guide her to Christ. I get that. But her responsibility is to respect you as she would Jesus. You're not worthy of respect.

But she's to do it anyway. She's not worthy of your love, but you're to do it anyway. And Christ is the model of each. This is what has to happen.

So when both of you are looking to Christ, you know, imagine your hands are apart, you know, a foot apart, and above you, a foot above, is a point, and you move your hands left from right and towards the point. The further up you go, the closer you get. The more that both of you look to Jesus, the closer you get to one another.
