It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network.

I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you to everybody tuned in all over North America. I appreciate the time. I appreciate your ear. I hope you're safe. I hope you're well. I hope you are.

You are amazing. I'll be hanging out with you for the next three hours. This is a four hour show. It gets started every weekday, 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific. Something big is going down here in Atlanta in about 40 minutes. The National Championship game. Ohio State, Notre Dame. Somebody has to win the college football playoff.

I think it'll be Ohio State. We talked about that game last hour with our producer Ryan Hickey who's live inside the stadium. Thank you to our producer helping hold things down tonight, Jack Hardy.

He's in New York City. We'll talk more college football playoff as the show continues on. Of course, you can get the latest updates and coverage right here on the Infinity Sports Network. And we've had a variety of great stories and great games over the weekend involving the NFL. We've got some winners. The Washington Command is damn the Buffalo Bills.

Wow. The Chiefs and some people think the Chiefs and the refs advanced and then the Eagles. And then we have some losers teams that we will not see again until next year. We just talked about the Baltimore Ravens sad. Texans are not happy with the referees. Bad.

And then oh man, how about this? The Detroit Lions. I mean, I guess they might be the biggest losers of the whole weekend. Maybe they had Super Bowl aspirations.

People were expecting him to light people up. And not only did the Detroit Lions lose on Saturday night, so the Washington Command is they lost to a rookie quarterback. They lost their offensive coordinator today. Ben Johnson is on his way to coaching the rival Chicago Bears. I guess it's a better situation, right? Sometimes you know what's right next to you. You've got to play against them.

You have to prepare against them. Ben Johnson is the new OC. Forget OC. He's no longer the OC of the Lions as he heads to Chicago.

Wow. Talk about that in a second. Matter of fact, in about 20 minutes, we're going to have a chat with Cordell Woodland from 1 0 5 7. The fan in Baltimore. I want to ask him about the other team that lost the Ravens.

So we got to talk about the teams that are going to get a little less attention over the next several weeks. If you missed the first hour of the show, you can go ahead and hit rewind on the free Odyssey app. Thank you to everybody listening live on their local Infinity Sports Network affiliate.

If you got Sirius XM channel 375 and if you got a smart speaker, talk to the machine, ask it to play the Infinity Sports Network. Last hour, talk to Hickey about the college football playoff. We talked about Baltimore and that loss last night against the Buffalo Bills. We have to talk about these losses over the span of three days or two days that have affected the Detroit Lions. They lose to Washington 45 to 31.

Five turnovers, five by the Detroit Lions. We got Jared Goff for the past two seasons as last year they went to the NFC championship game, blew it against the 49ers. People have always said Jared Goff can't win the big one, whether he's in the Super Bowl and NFC championship game or this past Saturday night's game against Washington. The man threw three interceptions and had a fumble. Yeah, he might've got a contract extension, but Jared Goff is not quieting the noise about not being able to win the big one.

And so we can blame a lot of people. Dan Campbell is certainly sad. Why the hell he had Jamison Williams out there throwing an attempted touchdown. I guess that's what that was. Ended up throwing an interception.

Why that was the case, I have no idea. But Goff threw this game away. Five turnovers ended this game and it ended the season for the Detroit Lions. And I know they're Lions fans out there. I saw all the messages.

Everybody's about the pain that they felt. And oh man, this is what we're used to. We're Lions fans.

I'm like, well, just pump your brakes just a little bit. Because it's one thing to be, I don't know, 0-16 and 1-15 being bad for a million years. Y'all are actually competitive now. So which one do you want? Do you want to be oh so miserable and oh so pathetic that you're a laughingstock? Or do you want to be good enough to be close and be respected and be competitive?

Like which one is it? Only one team wins the championship every year. And I'd rather be close and know I had a chance and maybe have future shots than to have none at all. Let's listen to Jared Goff from Saturday.

Because after the game, Jared Goff, he stood in front of the media and he talked about how poor of a performance he had. I wish I could have played a little bit better. I wish I could have taken care of the ball a little bit better. Obviously the pick six is really the one I'd really like back. That was just a poor decision by me. The other ones are just, you know, sometimes part of the game.

But yeah, it's on me. I got to take care of it better and certainly we'd have given ourselves a better chance to win had I done that. Yeah, Kwon Martin had the pick six in the second. Mike Sainstrel, a rookie, by the way, from Michigan. He had the other two interceptions, man. This was just ugly all the way around.

Dan Campbell, he doesn't mince words. We know that. He says, yeah, it hurts. It really hurts to lose. We know. I don't care if you're the seven seed, six seed, five seed, one seed, because I've lost it, all of them down there and it stings and it it hurts.

So, you know, it hurts. At least the offense is coming back next year, right? Goff isn't going anywhere. Amman, Amman, excuse me, he's got so many first names.

His dad was into Greek mythology. Amman, Ross St. Brown, he ain't going anywhere. Jamison Williams not going anywhere. Jamir Gibbs, he's not going anywhere. He had two rushing touchdowns. Offense is going to keep rolling.

You don't have to worry about that. But who's going to lead the offense? And damn it, who's going to lead the defense? We don't know. We know this much. Ben Johnson is the new head coach of the Chicago Bears.

We talked about it last hour. He said no to the Las Vegas Raiders. He's taken up the Chicago Bears job and the Bears already have a quarterback in Caleb Williams. He has something that he could he can actually work with going into the future. We've got guys on staff that I think are more than qualified and would be outstanding in those roles. But that does not mean that I'm not looking outside either. So I want what I believe is, is going to be as close to what we have been as possible.

Good luck. And it's not just Ben Johnson who left Aaron Glenn, former defensive back in the NFL. Mostly you might remember him with the New York Jets. I think he was on the Patriots as well. The Dallas Cowboys. This man was a defensive coach for the Saints.

He was a defensive coordinator here in Detroit for Dan Campbell. Now, is he a crazy man to go back to the New York Jets and now work for Woody Johnson while the things have happened? It's not like the Saints are in too much more of a better position.

At least their owner isn't as nutty. The part that sucks if you're a Lions fan. When it comes to this iteration of the team, Jared Goff leading the way, all the young talent in their prime that you currently have.

You know, Aiden Hutchinson, we know that he went out earlier this season. Defense didn't suffer as much as I thought they did or would. You don't know how long this is going to last. You don't know what Minnesota is going to look like with J.J. McCarthy. Ain't nobody think about Sam Donald.

Let's be real. You don't know how much better the Chicago Bears are going to be with Ben Johnson. Is Ben Johnson going to turn them around the offense the same way that he did here with the Lions? First in points per game, second in yards per game.

We don't know that. It's tough. And so if you're a Lions fan, you might have looked at last year losing to the 49ers and you might look at this year not even getting past the divisional round and you might say this is as good as it's going to get.

This is like reaching the end and then having to turn all the way back around. This is sad. Jared Goff, he was asked about any message and just in particular that he wanted to share with fans of the Detroit Lions. And this is what Jared Goff said. They're going to be disappointed as are we. I don't know. I appreciate them standing behind us all year. And they they they they should feel disappointed as much as we are. Think about fan bases all across North America that would be itching for a championship.

I don't know. I mean, just over the past 25 or so years. At one point in time, I would say the the Boston Red Sox were in that category of being cursed. You could think about a second, you think about the Chicago Cubs at one point in time being looked upon as being cursed. Think about the Browns down on their luck, paper bags. But the Lions in that same conversation when it comes to the NFL teams that are just cursed with the worst possible luck and has to feel like a gut check to have success, to get a little bit closer and then have the door just slammed in your face. The past couple of seasons, it appeared that Dan Campbell was just going to gamble away every chance and opportunity. And one time he'd make the wrong gamble and now you're cooked. This go round, he didn't even get the chance. He did not get the opportunity. The line season is over.

And we know the division is competitive. Ben Johnson going to the other side. A matter of fact, earlier today, the news broke. And why did he go to the other side? Adam Schefter, he was on ESPN and he broke it down as to why Ben Johnson and how the who, the what and where about him being the Bears new head coach.

Listen to this. Yeah, Laura, the Chicago Bears are hiring Ben Johnson. Despite the fact that many people thought that Ben Johnson would wind up in Las Vegas, Chicago lands the plane. They get the offensive coordinator from in the division, from the Detroit Lions. He's going to be hired as the next head coach of the Chicago Bears. The Bears have been gone, reaching out to other candidates to let them know they are getting the guy to grow with Caleb Williams to move forward.

There is the news from earlier today. Ben Johnson's going to be the head coach. He had interest from the Raiders. He had interest from the Jaguars, but he's obviously going to be going to Chicago, which put on a full court press, which wanted him in the worst way, which recognized the commodity that they had in Caleb Williams to move forward. And they are now moving forward with Ben Johnson as the next head coach. As soon as the Lions lost on Saturday night, we knew the hiring cycle would be accelerated.

And it in fact has been with Ben Johnson now agreeing to become the new head coach of the Chicago Bears. Hey, good on Ben Johnson for not going to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Smart man. That's a smart idea. Stay away from them.

I wouldn't touch them with a stick. In the Lions, y'all lost twice in three days. And I think Ben Johnson is a bigger loss than Aaron Glenn. No disrespect to Aaron Glenn, who made it very clear last week. It's like anybody who hires me isn't just hiring a defensive coordinator.

They are hiring a head coach and good on him. Like to put individuals in different buckets. Is is this an offensive genius? Is this a defensive mastermind?

Is this a leader of men? You got to fall into one of these three buckets with all the hyperbole and descriptive jargon for coaches. You just can't be a coach.

Just can't run the damn team and win games. Dan Campbell, what is he a nut? He's a winner. Except for on Saturday, he's a loser. And Dan Campbell wanted to make it very clear.

You know what? It doesn't matter what we did in the regular season. Ultimately, we're losers. Dan Campbell told everybody we're losers.

Regular season meant nothing. It's not the time to talk about what a great year or how many went. It just you know, it's because at this moment, I don't think any of us feel that way.

You know, the whole point of doing what you do is to get to the show, man. That's why you play this game. And we fell, we fell short. I want to say better luck next year. Better luck next year. At least the Lions in a conversation. Find the silver lining. The Lions are no longer a joke.

I'm just never going to trust Jared Goff until he actually does something. It's the JR Sportbreeze show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. We're going to take a break. When we come back, we got to talk about another team that unfortunately lost. And how do they turn things around? They have the talent.

They just don't have the victories. We're going to talk about the Ravens with Cordell Woodland on one of five seven the fan in Baltimore. What's next for Lamar and Mark Andrews and Harbaugh and everybody else? You're locked into the JR Sportbreeze show on the Infinity Sports Network.

Don't move. you you It's the JR Sportbree Show here with you coast-to-coast on the Infinity Sports Network as the college football playoff is getting ready to kick off in about 20 or so minutes. We got one team in the NFL there and no more kickoffs for them. The remainder of this postseason we won't see them again until September.

Quite disappointing. They might have the MVP on their roster. I'm talking to you about the Baltimore Ravens. To talk about what is next for this team, all of its talent is Cordell Woodland who covers the Ravens for 105-7 the fan in Baltimore. Hey Cordell, how are you man? Hey what's going on JR? I'm hanging in there. I gotta ask you and I think I already know the answer. What is the vibe? People aren't just all blaming Mark Andrews, right?

In the city? He's kind of at the top of the list right now. If you go around polling the city I think Mark Andrews' name will come up a lot in terms of guys that they are looking to blame. You'll probably hear Lamar Jackson's name in there as well because he's the quarterback and Lamar you know had a rough first half himself so I don't think he's involved of anything. And then the rest of it is kind of just what the Ravens have kind of been known for unfortunately this time of year.

Just not getting it done. A lot of these fans talked about just kind of expecting it. They got down early and this unfortunately has been a repeated part of the Ravens story of having dominant regular seasons. Yet again Lamar might win MVP again for the third time second year in a row. They add Derrick Henry another year of a historic run game and yet can't get it done in January.

It's very unfortunate. Cordell Woodland joins us from Baltimore, Maryland 105-7 the fan. All of that has to be moot at this point.

There's nothing left for this team to do but ultimately win a Super Bowl. What was the vibe like? I understand you were there locker, clean out day. Did we get a lot of the same quotes that we got last night? Was there anything of note taken today?

Today was a little more on the reflection side. You know not a lot of people talked so much about the game yesterday but more so just about the season coming to an end you know and it being disappointing. You know everybody knows only one team is going to be able to have their hand raised at the end but that doesn't make it any better and for the Ravens like I said it's been the continuous thing for them and they know that. You know they know that and I think for them it's just frustrating to feel like you're walking in circles to you know win a division again, win 12 games again.

You still can't get it done in January when you have to have your best game. It just seems like the Ravens aren't able to put that type of performance together and I think they see it and the tough part is they can't understand why. They feel like a lot of freak things happen.

They feel like they beat themselves a lot and they unfortunately haven't found a way to stop it. Well Cordell when you think about the the same old same old what could potentially change this offseason that that's going to help them get over the hump? Well I don't know if anything will necessarily change this offseason. I don't expect any drastic moves from the Ravens.

You know I don't expect I'd be surprised. We're due to talk to head coach John Harbaugh and GM Eric Dacosta Wednesday morning so you know maybe they'll have some answers for us or some news I doubt it but I'd be surprised if we see anything major happen and I'm talking about a head coaching change. John does have one more year left on his contract. I think they'll let them play it out. I think next year will be a huge year for him just like it always is but maybe a little more than usual with the contract coming to a close but other than that look you had Derrick Henry to Lamar in the backfield. Rashad Bateman took a huge step forward. They still had all pros on the defensive side and Roquan and Kyle Hamilton, Marlon Humphrey had a huge step forward again this year staying healthy.

I don't know what they can do. I think at this point it's just about getting it done. Players executing the best players on the team having their best days in January because marginally it's tough to improve talent wise over what they already are. Cordell Woodland is here with us from Baltimore Maryland.

105-7 the fan. We know Zay Flowers with the with the knee. Is that an area that they could continue to improve at at wideout? What do you expect them to do come draft time? Well they did use a draft pick this past year on Devanteis Walker wide receiver from North Carolina. He didn't get to play a lot. He only had one touchdown on the year and that came on his first catch of the year back in week 14 against the Giants but he really had a redshirt type of season. I think they're going to continue to try to plug away at that wide receiver group.

Outside of Zay Flowers and Rashad Bateman who had a big time here this year, both of those guys did. They don't have a lot left in that wide receiver room now. You know the Ravens are always big on incorporating tight ends and Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likley are always big pieces of the receiving game. Mark you know you got one year left on his deal and Isaiah Likley's coming up on his contract end and so they've got to figure something out there. So I think they'll continue to try to improve on their past catching options whether it's wide receiver or tight end.

Zay and Bateman are both first-round receivers so I think if the history is shown, if they like the Tyler there, they will swing early and Eric Dacosta is on record for saying he's going to continue to swing until he feels like he's hit on that home run all pro type of guy. Well Cordell, Lamar Jackson, despite the loss last night, he still might be MVP. We saw the numbers that he put up this year, ridiculous to throw four interceptions on the entire season of 41 CDs.

Unfortunately through that INC yesterday had that fumble. How could he possibly continue to elevate his game? A few years ago it's just like he's just a guy running who can throw the ball and you don't hear that as much anymore. No it's crazy the development of Lamar Jackson. I think we all kind of maybe took that part for granted. Even myself who was I mean I was a big big Lamar guy when even while he was at Louisville and him coming out.

Look I'm a commanders fan and I was banging the drum on Twitter for the commanders to go get him and that obviously didn't happen but it's working out for the commanders these days. But with Lamar, even I didn't see this coming. I mean I felt like last year we were sitting there saying man this is the best version of Lamar that we've seen to this point and then here we are again saying the same thing all over again. I mean it's truly insane how he has his desire to be great.

I think a lot of people kind of overlooked that because Lamar is not the usual superstar type of player. He doesn't talk a lot. He's very low-key.

You don't hear from him. You don't see him a lot so people don't know what to think but Lamar wants it all. He wants to win it all.

He wants to be the best known as the best player out there. I don't know what the next level of Lamar's development is. I think in the postseason and it sounds weird maybe the next step for Lamar and the Ravens as a whole is just being okay with kind of not being the most exciting team, not making the most exciting plays. I mean we just watched Josh Allen beat him yesterday and Josh Allen didn't have you know any highlights that SportsCenter is going to be playing on replay. I mean Patrick Mahomes last year in the AFC Championship game he beat him and yeah Kelcey was out of his world on a Cal Hamilton to start the game but other than that I think Mahomes was okay with taking sacks at times, putting the ball, keeping possession, just not beating yourself. So I think that's the next thing that Lamar and the Ravens need to learn is just being okay with maybe being a little boring at times. Oh we certainly well they they certainly talked about the three turnovers that cost them the game especially as they put up more yards against the Buffalo Bills.

Cordell Woodland is joining us here on the JR sport re-show coast to coast. Are you suggesting that Lamar Jackson and the Ravens kind of tone it down a little bit with him on the ground with his feet? Are you saying otherwise? Fill me in.

Well I'm more so saying you know to be okay with living to fight another down. There are people out here and I'm not I don't necessarily agree with this sentiment but on the play where Lamar ended up fumbling on it was it started off with a bad snap from the center tied the ball and people kind of wanted Lamar to eat that and maybe go down or just in the play right there and part of it is that's not a part of his DNA. Lamar only knows one way and that's to just make the impossible possible you know to make something out of nothing and it cost him on that play it cost him.

He ends up trying to make something happen he's getting sacked and he just has the ball just falls out of his hand and the Bills take it for a big return. Maybe that right there you live to see another play you you do maybe just go down eat it and see what happens on the next play maybe the drive continues they end up getting some points and look it's not easy to do that because that's not the way that they're trained and that's the thing I just think I don't look yesterday they didn't even have any design run plays for Lamar called by my accounts that's a travesty in itself so I don't want them to minimize Lamar by any means but I just more so think maybe and you know not hunting the big play as much at that time of the year where every possession counts every play matters just live to eat to play another down sometimes sometimes that's a win in itself. Well Cordell you talked about all the talent that the Ravens have on offense on defense we've seen their head coach win a championship when you think about this team being led by Lamar and coach Harbaugh should we expect the same thing next year it's just about getting over the hump do you think they can win a title with this group? I think they can you know I think they'll still be in that group of teams that you look at the week after the Super Bowl and say all right that's a true Super Bowl contender again going into next season but also in the back of your mind you're probably saying they'll go and win 13 games when the AFC North maybe get a home playoff game or two and probably lose you know you'll probably say that because that's what they've shown that's that's what they've shown so you know that's that's the problem that they're in right now they're in that group of five to six teams that can truly win it that could truly win it but you also know that there's some at this point I think they're mental hurdles that they need to kind of get over before you truly start to believe in them when you get into this divisional round and champion conference championship round. Well allow me to be a jerk quickly Cordell this just means that they are the exciting version of the Pittsburgh Steelers that go further they just lose a little bit deeper in huh? I guess it's that AFC North stuff man you know because they in Pittsburgh are alike in a lot of ways the cultures are built on a lot of the same principles obviously Pittsburgh's not very excited these days they don't have a Lamar Jackson and State Flowers and Derrick Henry but Pittsburgh finds a way to make something out of nothing in their own right um and yeah just like you're saying I mean Pittsburgh's born you know what you're going to get out of them especially this year going into the playoffs with the Ravens yeah they have more of a shot but it's also man you just know that there's going to be a freak game where they just don't look like themselves and it's going to end up costing them. You talk about the mental aspect of the game Cordell and we know Mark Andrews beat into a pulp online beat into a pulp on the radio where you're at 105.7 the fan knowing Mark Andrews and being around him is this going kind of brush off his back typically it does for most professional athletes he'll be fine right? I mean you'd hope so you'd hope so you know he he didn't talk yesterday after the game he didn't talk today a locker clean out so people will feel a sort of way about that because you know his teammates are answering those questions that he should be answering really and Mark's a captain Mark's a stand-up dude I tweeted it yesterday or maybe earlier today that there isn't a harder work on a team than Mark Andrews so yeah I think he's always motivated and maybe that a little piece of it is is a part of yesterday Mark is very wound up Mark is very intense man he is he is very intense he's the type of dude you don't want to get in his way when he's laser focused on something and sometimes when you want something so bad it doesn't end up being the best thing but look I think Mark will come back and be just the same Mark Andrews he's been his whole career a great version of himself you just want to see that regular season Mark Andrews show up in January because playoff Mark Andrews has not been good throughout his career Mark Andrews doesn't even have a single touchdown in his career in the postseason that's not that that's just wild to even say knowing how good he's been. A lot of this is is coming to light based on what we saw last night but all of America for the entire season has been looking at Justin Tucker one of the most accurate if not the most accurate excuse me kicker that we've ever seen in NFL history and it seems like he is just unraveling is this injury is it mental what's the deal with him and his status moving forward with the team? Yeah I mean it was a rough year for Justin and honestly he wasn't alone it was a rough year for a lot of kickers around the league this year really wacky year for kickers and he wasn't you know absolved of that he went through a really tough stretch where you could make the argument Justin Tucker probably cost him two to three games this year so I think he did end up looking like his usual self after the week 14 by week granted they didn't really need him a lot on the back end of the season especially not in any pressure kick situations he looked good yesterday from by all accounts he looked good in the warm-ups and he also nailed every field goal an extra point that he had yesterday so that's a good sign I thought he finished the season really strong I think it was a lot of the mental things with Tucker because he had never gone into a rut like that I mean even last year he struggled from 50 plus but as a whole he was still really good going into next year I wouldn't be surprised if we see the Ravens maybe bring in a kicker in camp or something or really keep their eye on a couple of these kickers doing the draft time not to say they'll draft one but just a couple of guys that they want to keep tabs on at going into the season in case Tucker starts to struggle again they could maybe call up a couple of those guys but I do think they will give some kickers a look but ultimately I think Tucker will still be their kicker come week one let's see what these Ravens look like I don't know and in January of 2026 I guess that's what we got to wait for that's all that matters for them this is what it is get through the season healthy and roll the dice again Cordell where can people follow you all of your amazing work online as well as up in Baltimore on the fan yeah you can catch me on the Odyssey app just look at 105 7 the fan here in Baltimore catch my show she could up sports in the evenings I'm the Ravens and Orioles beat reporter for the station so I make a lot of appearances on the daytime shows as well and I fell in on a lot of those shows so you never really know when you'll hear me and you can follow me all on any social media at Cordell Woodland Cordell always a pleasure man enjoy the small time off between now and spring training okay I'll try man appreciate it no doubt about it that Cordell Woodland from 105 7 the fan in Baltimore and the Ravens are one of those teams it's between them and the bills which one of y'all are gonna beat the Chiefs at least the Buffalo Bills advanced enough to to stare that opportunity in the face it's the JR sport reshow on the infinity sports network right now we get the national anthem playing ahead of the college football national championship we'll give you an update on everything going on throughout the course of the evening throughout the course of the night on the other side of the break you know what I got a show love we talked about the two teams that lost the Ravens and the Lions we got a show love to a rookie quarterback who is lighting it up in a way that we have not ever seen in the NFL we're gonna show some love to Jayden Daniels on the other side you you it is the JR sport reshow here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network I need you to think O'Reilly Auto parts for all of your car care needs get guaranteed low prices and excellent customer service from the professional parts people at O'Reilly Auto parts 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27 that's 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27 I want to give a big thank you to Cordell Woodland for joining us in the last break and joining us from Baltimore Maryland as the Ravens just fall again another chance another opportunity down the drain 10 wins 12 wins 13 wins 14 wins 15 wins ultimately it results in the same situation in January a loss Lamar Jackson now has a postseason record of three and five a lot of comparisons at least that I saw last night to another guy who started his postseason career at three and five that man's name is Peyton Manning now am I gonna put Lamar Jackson in the same category of Peyton Manning not yet but Lamar Jackson's career is not over and there's one thing that he promised that he said he was gonna do when he became quarterback with the Baltimore Ravens as he sat in the draft room and had to wait and wait and wait last guy selected in the first Lamar Jackson said he is ultimately going to bring a Super Bowl to Baltimore and every time this team looks great this year they added Derrick Henry every time they look like they get closer they falter not so easy not so easy someone making things look easy right now oh my goodness we got to talk about some winners right life is about balance the show I'm gonna balance things out as the college football playoff is minutes away from kickoff seconds away from kickoff here's some winner the Washington Commanders who the hell expected this not me they go out there and they beat the Lions we talked about the losing Lions earlier in the show but the commanders winning 45 to 31 Jayden Daniels continuing on what is a ridiculous run for a rookie quarterback trying to make the Super Bowl as a rookie QB we got Washington and we have Philadelphia in the NFC championship game who the hell what a thought that would have been a game before the season started earlier in the season even before the 49ers were even before they got Christian McCaffrey back I'm looking at the 49ers I'm looking at the Eagles I'm looking at the Lions I'm thinking one of these teams is gonna represent the NFC and here we have Washington that has just spoiled the party and the cool thing is we got two teams in the same division that are familiar with each other I don't think this is gonna be any type of a runaway I think we're gonna see another cold ass game in the link in Philadelphia but Jayden Daniels you want to know what he did against the Lions on one side we had a guy who actually competed in a Super Bowl who's been in big playoff spots we had Jared Goff three interceptions and a fumble Jayden Daniels he wasn't even sacked one time he had zero turnovers he had a 299 yards passing to go along with to go along with two touchdowns oh yeah 51 yards on the ground to Jayden Daniels is just different I mean after the game even Tom Brady who for the most part every single game that I listen to Tom Brady sounds like a robot like somebody is feeding lines into his head even Tom Brady was effusive about what we're seeing from this rookie quarterback who is unshaken who's unmovable who is not bothered and it is just beyond impressive Jayden Daniels told everybody after the game he's like listen I know exactly what we are capable of I mean I always believe I always believe that we could achieve more than what people give us credit for but you know you gotta go out there put in the work you gotta go out there and work daily get better each and every day just put your head girl in the grind and by the end time of the season you look up you might be in a position like this it's crazy right we don't expect the rookie I'm thinking professional sports I don't care you know what level it is baseball NFL hockey NBA rookies are supposed to get they're not even supposed to be in the playoffs a rookie and when they do make the playoffs it's I don't know the second year maybe the third year they get to the postseason and then they get the snot beat out of them and then they come back better Jayden Daniels is here already and is already one of the best quarterbacks in the game like he's been here I give a looked at a baby somebody looks at somebody's child I'm talking about a baby that just fell out the womb and I go man that baby's been here before the baby is too aware that baby is too alert well Jayden Daniels he has not been in the NFL before and he is playing like it he said all of this the situation what he's feeling right now was surreal feels good surreal moment just for you know Washington fan base whole DMV you know this is awesome feeling well someone who somewhat understands the feeling not of the ultimate victory is Dan Quinn Dan Quinn's been to the Super Bowl Dan Quinn almost beat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl and then yeah we know what happened 28 to 3 Dan Quinn has experience Dan Quinn spoke to the media and Dan Quinn just talked about his rookie QB and how composed he is he was a basketball player he'd want the last shot as a ballplayer he wants the ball in his hands to make the difference and he makes great decisions with the football and that takes real mindfulness sometimes the best play maybe hey I got to throw this away he uses his legs but he is a rare competitor for us but his poise in these tight moments really stands out to us zero sacks zero turnovers by Jayden Daniels in the game Jared Goff for turnovers hey Dan Quinn I got one more question for you how big were turnovers in this game tonight I thought the story of the game was the ball and the turnover margin and for us to have a real shot at this thing we'd have to knock out a few and so to finish plus in that was you know big for us we got plenty of time to get into it what do I think is gonna happen between Washington and the Eagles let's just in the short say I believe in uh I believe in the birds the commanders that have and they're still playing with house money who's expecting anything from Washington I don't know maybe it's data are they gonna stop Saquon Barkley you know what a matter of fact next hour in about a 35 ish 40 minutes we're gonna have a chat with Grant Paulson does afternoons on 106 7 the fan in Washington DC nobody expected the commanders to do this and if you did you're a liar yeah I called you a lie if you did get over it it's the JR sport brie show here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network the college football playoff championship is underway Ohio State Notre Dame nothing nothing they just kicked off when we come back we're gonna talk about a team well people expect them to win well talk about the Chiefs and their love affair with the refs don't move
