It is the JR Sportbrief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia.

Thank you to everybody tuned in and locked in all over North America. I hope you're safe. I hope you're well. I hope you are amazing. On this Friday, December 6th, the year 2024.

I'm in Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you to our super producer and host Ryan Hickey holding it down for us in New York City. We got a lot to do here over the next four hours. It's a big old football weekend. I mean, starting tonight, I mean, in about two hours, exactly two hours. We got the start of college football championship games. Got more games tomorrow.

NFL started week 14 last night. Dan Campbell wants to go for it all, all the time and does not stop. Looks like Bill Belichick wants to go for the head coaching job at North Carolina.

What? Speaking of coaches, we're going to have a coach join us next hour. Mike Sanford Jr. is going to come through, former coach of the Buffaloes and coaching family.

Yeah, looking forward to that. We'll talk some college football with him. Got some NFL action. Moore coming this way on Sunday. I'm just ready for football.

This is what I'm waiting for. I'm sick of all the rankings. I'm tired of all the 1 through 25. Let's just get down to the 12 on Sunday.

And this entire weekend is going to help us get there. Got a lot to get into, a lot to discuss. Thank you to everybody listening to the show on the free Odyssey app. People listening live on their local Infinity Sports Network radio station. If you've got Sirius XM, it's channel 158.

And if you've got a smart speaker, ask it to play the Infinity Sports Network. You want to be a part of the show? Knock yourself out. Come on, now it's Friday. Feel free to call up.

Are you at work? Forget your balls. Call up.

You can't call up. Fine. We're online at JR Sport Brief. At JR Sport Brief.

Yeah, absolutely. Here's a number, here's a number, by the way. 855-212-4227.

That's 855-212-4227. Good to be back. Been here all week except for yesterday.

I'm here. Hickey, how you doing? You good? I am good.

Just like you, JR. I'm ready for some games. Let's go. We got one later tonight.

We got a few tomorrow. I'm excited to just finally put the talking to rest. Let's get to watching. Yeah, man. I hear that.

Enough of the back and forth. I'm just ready for the football. I'm looking forward to Boise State and seeing what they do in a few hours. So, this is a lot of fun. A lot of fun. Anyway, a lot of fun. Hickey, I actually had a chance to watch a football game on a Thursday night without sitting in the studio. So, that was good.

That is pretty nice. Yeah. What was that like? Not having to talk and watch at the same time, having one year and one eye in the game. One year, one eye. What you talk about? Not easy.

It was good. I think I would have been off the air by the time Dan Campbell went for that crazy-ass fourth down. This guy hasn't met.

He's just wired differently. Dan Campbell. Let's keep in mind he played tight end in the NFL. He started his career as a tight ends coach. And this is what Dan Campbell does now. All he knows is one way, one pace.

And that's just to go for it. We know about that big fourth and one. 43 seconds left. Montgomery gets seven yards. They then send Bates out there to kick it.

Kirk Herb Street. Al Michaels is saying this guy is one step away from being a bum if this doesn't work out. And we've seen this before.

And things didn't always work out his way last year in the postseason. Jared Goff threw three touchdowns. This is the best team in the NFC. Just without a shadow of a doubt, this is the best team.

And this is a crazy thing to say because I'm still getting used to it. These are the Detroit Lions. Dan Campbell almost in his second third year, they almost fired the guy. They were like one and six. They were getting ready to give this man the boot. And they turned things around to nine and eight. He's been here now since 2021.

Last year they were 12 and five. Right now as they stand, the Lions are 12 and one. And if there's a fan base that actually deserves a team that's not hot garbage for everything they've had to deal with year after year after year, a laughingstock, it is the Lions.

I'm enjoying all of this. And Dan Campbell, I got to tell you, I just hope that being aggressive doesn't kick him in the backside again. Last night, a man went for it five times on fourth down. It worked four out of the five times. And a matter of fact, Jared Goff, who did his party through three touchdowns, Jared Goff said, come on now, this is Dan Campbell. Was I shocked?

Hell no. We came into this game knowing we were going to do it maybe a little bit more than usual. Dan had mentioned that early in the week that he was going to really lean on our offense to make some things happen and certainly be aggressive on fourth down if the opportunity presented itself. And there at the end, I know he was kind of in between on what he wanted to do and obviously made the right decision. No, he made the right. It's the right decision when it works.

It's a bad one when it doesn't. Could you imagine what he would have heard? I love the fact that he doesn't care.

You know, I appreciate in sports when an athlete or a team or an individual, a coach goes for it, knowing that, hey, it may not work because you're going to get criticized. Everybody is sitting at home. Everybody is on the couch. Everybody is on a phone, on a laptop, a tablet, a computer or listening here on the radio. Everybody has an opinion. It's only one person ultimately ultimately making the decision, and that's Dan Campbell. It's his ass on the line if it doesn't work out.

And if it works, he's a genius. You know, one day, forget Dan Campbell. Look at Giannis Atetokounmpo. Hickey, remember when Giannis was just missing every single free throw? Remember he had the yips? They put the countdown clock on him too. Oh my God.

Yes. Fans are chanting 10, 9, 8. And I appreciate the fact I respect him, Hickey. He never stopped. He never stopped going to the hole. He never said, oh, they're going to foul me.

Oh, they're going to send me to the free throw line. How embarrassing. This man did not give a damn what the outside world thought. He did what was in the best interest of him and the team, and he went forward.

Dan Campbell does not give a damn, and I appreciate that. You know, let's listen to the guy who actually got the seven yards. He didn't even need seven. He got seven of them.

Only needed one. That's David Montgomery. This is what he told Westwood One after the game. At the end of the day, man, Coach Campbell, he already told us in the beginning of the week, we was going to be going for it on fourth down. And, you know, you got to take that with pride. You got to be sure that, you know, we kind of capitalize on every chance we get. We didn't capitalize early on the game on a couple fourth down situations, but when it count and we needed, we were able to.

So we were able to close it out and it was good that we were able to get it done. Dan Campbell doesn't need to tell anybody nothing. Everybody knows that Dan Campbell is going to go for it. The man is wired different. This man is 48 years old. He is still built like an NFL player. A matter of fact, Hickey, I think he is bigger.

Maybe I'm wrong. I think he's bigger than when he played. He does look pretty lean. I mean, those muscles are popping out of that shirt.

That dude is jacked. Do we have another, now that Rob Salah is gone, is there another NFL coach big as this guy? No, right? Now that Mike Vrabel is no longer there. He's bigger than Mike Vrabel and younger, so I'd probably give him the edge.

But other than those two and Salah's a good third, and but two of them gone, I can't even, who's the second? Yeah. When does he have time? When does he have time? Like this guy is, is, is coaching in the day and practice this and practice that. And then when the guys leave the facility, what is he doing?

Like, I don't know, an hour, two hours of work? I don't think Dan Campbell is snacking on, I don't know, cheeseburgers like Andy Reid. Dan Campbell is a bad man. I don't know.

Maybe it's all the coffee that he's out here drinking. This man goes for it all the time. How about this? Since he started coaching in 2021, the Detroit Lions have converted 77 fourth downs out of 140. That is a 55% success rate.

Okay. That's the most conversions that we've had on fourth down out of anybody in the league since he took over the lions. And by the way, 55% is 12th in the league since then, since 2021.

So it's not like he's at the top of the charts is that he's just going for it at a ridiculous pace. You think Dan Campbell cares? Hell no, this team is 12 and one. They're staring at an NFC championship game. I think anything less than that would be disappointing. Who are they going to take on?

I don't know. The Eagles probably is what it looks like right now today. Lions are great. Had this conversation yesterday. I was surprised a little bit by it.

Shout out to my guy, Bobby J. Bobby J. Hickey, Bobby J is one of my buddies here at the station here in Atlanta. And he said he likes to root for the underdogs. He was like, yeah, I like to root for the Browns.

I said, why are you torturing yourself? He's like, it's the underdogs. I said, but they're losers.

Forget underdogs. They're losers. And then he said, well, I like cheering for the lions too. And I'm like, yeah, better.

They're actually winning right now. I never thought I'd hear somebody say that. Good for Bobby J. Yeah. There we go. Again, if you want to root for underdogs for your whole life, well, eventually this is nice to see one kind of breakthrough.

Good for your boy. Yeah. Yeah. Let's see.

Let's see what these, these lines end up doing. And you know, Hey, how about this? We're talking about Dan Campbell.

Let's hear from him. Hey Dan, why the hell did you go for it on fourth down? You could have just kicked the ball.

Why did you go for it? Just felt like we needed to end it on offense, you know, and I did not want to get that ball back. And I believe we could get that.

I believe we could convert, you know, and I trusted that old line. I trusted David and, uh, and they came through for since a hell of a call about Ben. This is like football assault and football. Naturally, it is assault. We've got a bunch of guys running out there, beating a mess out of each other. We saw what happened to Trevor Lawrence of this past Sunday. Now it looks like his season is over.

He's going on injured reserve. But to have a guy like Dan Campbell, if you think about like this in the space of like boxing, this man is going for it. He's throwing a haymaker after haymaker. He's like, forget the jabs.

Okay. We don't need no set up on no damn jab. I'm coming with the hooks. I'm going to hit you with the uppercut.

I want you to feel this pain. We're not doing no pity pat and back and forth. No, I'm punching you in the mouth. This is the same Dan Campbell that told everybody in his introductory press conference that I'm here to, we are here to bite you at the kneecaps and kick you in the ankles. And I don't know, push grandma down the steps.

I don't know. Dan Campbell didn't say that last part. I just put that in the same space.

I did that. I never pushed my grandma down the steps. Never would I, but Dan Campbell is a, he's abusive as a bad man on a football field and I respect him. I hope it just doesn't kick them in the ass when it matters most.

I'd love to see the aggression. I think most of America after their team is eliminated, or you're playing against the lines, but I think most of America would root for the lions to win it all. If they have the chance and the opportunity, sign me up for it. Give me the lions and give me the chiefs. I don't care. I like the jets and the Falcons. They not winning a damn thing.

Either one of them. Give me the lions. Let's see Jared Goff get one. Oh, Jared Goff wins the super bowl and then tells Mr. McVeigh, stick it. Not going to happen, but it'd be nice.

He'll do it in a veiled way. I'm here in a place where I'm wanted and the people appreciate me here. Unlike the other places. I'm glad I won a championship in Detroit that says the guy who grew up his entire life playing ball in California. It's an easier team to root for.

Dan Campbell, we know he's going for it. I don't need a stat to tell me. Just gave you some stats to back it up. Matter of fact, wouldn't you want to play for a guy like this? Wouldn't you want to play for somebody who is committed? I've seen this guy. He's a psycho. This guy has cried. He's been forceful. He's been aggressive.

He's he gives you a range of emotions. And after they won that game last night, Dan Campbell was in the locker room and the Detroit Lions, of course, because video cameras are everywhere for social media purposes, they caught the moment that Dan Campbell was thinking the offense. He was thinking a defense. Damn it. One of his offensive linemen was throwing up in the corner of the room because he's busting his ass. And Dan Campbell's like, yeah, man, y'all are great.

Listen to this man. I told you, you never forget this game. You will never forget this game. We don't have to talk about how tough we are. We don't have to talk about how resilient we are. We live it, man. We've been living it. Where's our defense?

Offense. That's a way to step up, man. That's a way to step up. There you go. Skip, keep throwing up whatever you're doing.

I'm so freaking proud of you, man. That's a way to show up. You're talking about pressure. We live in pressure.

That's what we freaking thrive. You did it again. You did it again. All right.

It doesn't matter who's playing for us. No matter what's going on. You always find a way to win. That's what champions do. This is not happenstance, man.

This doesn't just happen. This has been in the making, man. Listen, you got to appreciate a guy who's just real. He is real. There ain't no BS. There ain't no bull.

There ain't no acting like this and doing that. You got to appreciate people who are straightforward. That guy is straightforward and he drives me nuts and he drives me crazy. When I watch him with some of these decisions, I appreciate him. I respect him. I think Dan Campbell, him, Andy Reid, Mike Tomlin, these are some of my favorite coaches in the NFL. They're respected.

There's no fluff. They just get up and do their damn job. The players respect them. I think fans respect them. The media respects them. Let me say it again. More importantly, the players respect them.

How could you not respect a guy like that? I don't know. Hickey, what's Dan Campbell doing right now? Curls? Probably. Yeah, I think so.

With a coffee in between each rep, each set. Guy is doing curls on a Friday night. I know he is. What a wild dude that is. Go all the way, man. I'm rooting for the Lions.

I really am. It's the JR Sport Reshow here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. 855-212-4227 is the number.

That's 855-212-4227. You know, I told you, we got a lot to get into. Speaking of coaches, Mike Sanford Jr. is going to come through and join us next hour. And speaking of championships and winning, hey, we got conference championship games. They start tonight. We got more over the weekend. We got NFL games on Sunday. We got a lot going on and we're going to talk about it all.

855-212-4227. As a matter of fact, I'm going to get to some of your calls on the other side of the break. And then we'll even get into the team that lost last night. There was another team involved. The losers. It's the Packers. You're locked in.

You're not a loser. It's the JR Sport Reshow here coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It is the JR Sport Reshow here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. Had to open up the show, you know, showing love to what we saw last night.

Week 14 of the NFL season, Dan Campbell, old gambling Dan going for it. What else is new? What a shock. The guy is, he's different. Like people that are different. Go against the grain. Don't fall in line with what everybody else is doing.

Go out there and be different. In a few minutes, a few seconds, we'll talk about the other coach. Matt Leflore was out there. He was yelling at fans. Fans were yelling at him.

It was a wild situation before the game even got started. We got a lot of coach talk. We got a coach joining us next hour. I told you Mike Stanford Jr., former Buffalo, Colorado Buffalo's coach is going to be here. There's all this news about Bill Belichick going out to North Carolina.

Is he really going to go to North Carolina? Come on now. We'll talk about that. Let's get to the phone lines. We have callers who have been waiting patiently.

Thank you so much. 855-212-4227. That's 855-212-4227. Let's go to Wisconsin and talk to Mikey. Mikey, you're on the JR Sport Reshow coast to coast. What's up? Good evening, JR. Thank you for taking my call.

Certainly. I'm a Packers fan in Wisconsin. Tough one last night. Hats it to the Lions. They are a great team. They've had our number recently. Born in the late 80s.

Being swept by the Lions and losing at Lambeau consecutive seasons is new. Real quick, a point you made before the break. Dan Campbell's a giant. I'd run through a wall for that guy if I was a player.

He gets the juices flowing. Wouldn't mess with Antonio Pierce either. Not sure he's got the height. You are right. But he's wide as hell. That dude is wide as hell.

You're right. Hickey, we forgot about Antonio Pierce. He may not have a job. Hopefully not listening. He can beat us up. He can. Hold on, Mike. You have to tell a terrible joke.

Yeah, please. Hickey, didn't he help plaques go with the gun? Remember that? Is that alleged or is that on the record? I think that's on the record. He tried to help him cover up. He was with him when he shot himself. He took him to the hospital, yeah. That's right. We're going to look that up. I think he tried to take the gun.

I think that's what he did. Forgot about that story. What? How did Mike?

Ultimate bad memory losing to the Giants that 15-1 season. Oh, when it was freezing cold and Tom Coughlin almost froze outside? Yeah.

But, you know, I was going to say real quick, JR. Yes. I mean, this is one of those scenarios. Dan and the lines are going to get all the credit, right? They made the gutsy call.

It will, right? Everyone's going to praise them. It is what it is. I recall a LA coach, maybe for the Chargers not too long ago, that also liked to go for it a lot on fourth down and look at the analytics. And, you know, obviously he's no longer there. Was going to ask, you know, it seems like the Lions and Eagles are on a collision course for the NFC championship. I think the Vikings and our Packers, my Packers, excuse me, are, you know, a tier below. I don't think Washington's quite there.

So we'll see what happens. And then, you know, just to hit on your point ahead, Matt LaFleur, I mean, he's as good a coach as anyone in the NFL. I don't think he gets the credit a lot when it comes out to those coach of the year nominations and awards. I believe he has one of the highest winning percentages over the course of five seasons for any new first-time head coach.

I think he's in the top three or four all time and obviously had to balance, you know, the Rogers regime and ending there. And so I'll leave you with this, you know, hats off to the Lions. Good team.

They earned the win. What did I see on the Lovely X all last night after the game? It wasn't line fans. It was Bears fans pointing to, you know, well, Jordan Love's just average.

He's mid. Ignore it. Just say, hey, your team doesn't have a coach right now. Okay. All right.

Just leave it. Hey Mikey. All the time, Mikey.

Thank you so much for calling from Wisconsin. That's his timeline. Everybody's timeline is different, right? I guess. Well, I think there's a quite a few things that are just on everybody's timeline now. The X has become very violent and a very explicit in more ways than one. It's crazy. Hickey, is it safe for me to utilize that at work?

I got a disconnect from the Wi-Fi. Yeah, I would say that's the smart move just because you never know. You never know. X is crazy. Hickey, that crazy guy's on TV again. The sad part is you could be referencing 15 different people right now and I. Oh man, the guy we talked about the other day, he was a sports guy was on TV in between the two beds and a white T-shirt.

Oh my God. The homeless looking man they put on TV? He's back? They brought him back? Is he looking any better?

Upgrade slightly. He has a brown hoodie on on a couch, hotel couch. Oh my.

Someone's got to tell him. You're on TV, man. We could see what you look like.

Don't wear a white T-shirt, comb your hair, and maybe get a better backdrop even if you're in a hotel than just two hotel beds behind you. I mean at least the beds were made, I think. Hey, they're still bringing them back. So what difference does it make to him, right? That's true. And checks are still clearing.

855-212-4227. He reminds me of the guy making pizzas. He needs like a thing called, not a smock, what is it called? An apron. It needs an apron on, man. If he was wearing an apron, it would have like splotches of sauce and yellow and grease and all this other stuff on it. The flour, just a layer of flour just coated on him everywhere. Yeah, he's one apron away from working at a restaurant.

I'll take two plain, all right? And that's what he looks like. Doesn't look like a broadcaster. Anyway, 855-212-4227. Mark is here from Nova Scotia. You're on the JR Sportbree show. What's up, Mark? Oh, hey, JR.

Thanks for taking my call. So regarding Dan Campbell, I mean this, I loved your monologue on him. I guess that's what you call it, a monologue. He's a frustrating dude. Like I really like him in a lot of ways. That speech, I hadn't heard that speech he gave in the locker room.

And you know, I like, I love his moxie. But I mean, like I grew up as a Washington fan, which I still am. And like back in the 80s and 90s and like, I mean, Joe Gibbs isn't doing that kind of stuff. Nobody is.

Nobody is, but it's just like I, as a fan on the more conservative side, so that's what kills me about him. And then when it works, it works. And I'm like, man, it just feels like I'm back. I don't play video games anymore. It feels like I'm playing Madden with my friends when I watch Dan Campbell.

Yeah, just go for it. The stakes aren't as high in the video game. You're just like, hell, why am I kicking the ball? No field goals. I'm just, it could be fourth and 10. I'm going for it. Who cares? It's wild.

Maybe they should put Dan Campbell on the cover of Madden 2025. I don't know. Listen, you might have given him a great idea. Hey, Mark, thank you so much for calling from Nova Scotia, man. Stay, stay warm. Thank you. Yeah, I'll try.

Appreciate it. I know that weather in Nova Scotia is, I know a cold as hell. Let's see Nova Scotia weather.

Let's see. Hickey, what do you think? It's 10 degrees. Oh no, it's 28 degrees. What about the wind? You have any gusts? 15 mile per hour winds. Tomorrow, it'll be 24 in snow.

There you go. Great Nova Scotia. Shout out to everybody out there. Tough Nova Scotia. And we got, we got cold people all over the place. Tough, cold people. Green Bay, as, as we just discussed.

I know the Packers are back home. And since we talked about, and, and, you know, Matt LaFleur was mentioned, let's hear from him because he was fighting with the fan in Detroit on the sidelines before the game. Told that guy to shut the, you know what up. No, use another word.

I cannot use it. Otherwise I wouldn't have a job. But Matt LaFleur told everybody what was going on. Why was he beefing with that fan?

Listen to this. He was talking junk to our players, giving them the throat slash sign. And I'm, you know, you're trying to deescalate it and then he gets in my face. So I thought it was pretty unsportsmanlike. Like I've never seen that.

I've been on many fields and usually they police that much better. I just, I thought it was an arrogant fan that, you know, wanted to get in part of the action and just, I would like to see security or something step in there and get them out of there. Speaking of throat slash gestures. I saw Jalen Brown got, got a fine for throat slash.

Dunked on Isaiah Stewart and gave him the throat slash. Okay. You can't do that. That's nasty.

It's not nice. Anyway, speaking of football, Matt LaFleur, he had a response to Dan Campbell. Fourth down, I'm going for it. Fourth down, I'm going for it.

Fourth down, I'm going for it. How did Matt LaFleur feel about that? And were you shocked that Dan did it? Not necessarily.

Maybe the one at the end of the game a little bit. But you know, that's how Dan has done it throughout the course of his career. And so it doesn't necessarily surprise me. But that gave us an opportunity there. We just, you know, hats off to them.

They executed and we didn't. Packers are now nine and four. They are one of the better teams in the NFC, but they are not the Detroit Lions. They'll go to the postseason and beat a team in a round or two. I don't see them winning the entire thing. I still think they're a young squad with a young QB that hopefully the rest of the way can stay healthy. We know Jordan Love has had his issues with health. I mean, damn it.

He got hurt in the first game of the year down in Brazil. This is what Jordan Love had to say about whether this game screws them up for the rest of the year. No, anytime, you know, you're winning a couple of games and you lose, it's going to, you know, disrupt that momentum. So it's one of those things that it's tough. You know, it's a little bit of adversity, but we've handled adversity. We've been here, had a tough loss early on, a couple.

So it's not anything that we haven't seen before. You know, we'll stick together and we'll handle it like any other week. I mean, they spread that ball out to all those wide outs. They still have Josh Jacobs at running back.

He's like third in everything behind both Saquon Barkley and then also Derrick Henry. And next up for the Green Bay Packers, they go to Seattle. They take on New Orleans. They go to Minnesota and they end against Chicago. So for all those Bears fans that, you know, our buddy was saying, hey, all those Bears fans online are talking crap. No, go beat them. And they play them at Lambeau. So beat Chicago and just go about your merry way into the postseason. Matt LaFleur, how the hell do y'all move forward?

Tell me. Situationally, like third down, that was critical. And then not coming away with a touchdown there at the end in the red area, that was tough as well.

But I think really offensively and defensively, the third and fourth down was probably the difference in the game. Yeah, he'll be fine. He doesn't have to play Dan Campbell every week.

He doesn't have to worry about some guy on the other sideline just being ridiculously aggressive. He got Geno Smith next. We'll see Xavier McKinney go out there and get an interception, probably two or three.

Anyway, it's the J.R. Sport Reshow here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. We got to wait more than a week for that game since they played last night on Thursday Night Football. We won't see them in action. Not this Sunday, of course. But speaking of action, we got some upcoming action. We are only about 90 minutes away from some conference championship action in college football.

I can't wait for this one. UNLV, Boise State, Ashton Gente. What the hell does this guy do? Are they going to let this guy run all over the place? Is the running back from UNLV? Hajj Malik Williams, is he going to run all over the place? Who the hell is running into the college football playoff? We'll get into that on the other side of the break. We'll talk about Belichick. Is he really running to North Carolina?

Belichick is like screw the NFL. I'm going to college. We'll get into that as well. A lot to do. It's the J.R. Sport Reshow Coast to Coast on the Infinity Sports Network. You're listening to the J.R. Sport Brief.

It is the J.R. Sport Reshow here with you Coast to Coast on the Infinity Sports Network. This portion of the show is brought to you by Wesley Financial. Are you stuck in a timeshare and want out?

Contact Wesley Financial Group now and get a free timeshare exit information kit at wesleyfinancialgroup.com. About an hour away, hour and 15 minutes away. First set of conference games getting ready to start conference championship games. No disrespect to some of these group of five championships, but the one that everybody is really going to pay attention to is UNLV in Boise State going for the Mountain West title. We know what the new college football playoff format the 12 teams that we get in. You get one group of five team that shows up and this is basically what it's going to be between UNLV and Boise State. Boise State trying to win back-to-back Mountain West titles. They already beat UNLV earlier this year in October 29 to 24 and I still can't believe the transformation from UNLV. They're one of the top rushing teams in the nation. Their former quarterback quit.

He quit because of NIL. He said UNLV didn't pay me the money that they owed me. You would think that the team would go down into the toilet and here they are in the Mountain West championship game.

You cannot make this up. Hashmalique Williams is running the ball all over the place. UNLV fourth and rushing in the country. Ashton Gente is running the ball all over the place. We know what the hell he does. He is now 340 yards behind Barry Sanders from having the most rushing yards in a college football season.

Let's see what he does. This game is going to take place in Boise. Let's just say Ashton Gente who is a Heisman favorite alongside Travis Hunter from Colorado. Ashton Gente says man we ain't nothing but a bunch of dudes built on winning championships. We didn't play our best game when we played against them and we're gonna play our best game tomorrow against them and yeah they're a physical team but this program has been built on being the most physical dominant team and we will show that tomorrow.

Gente is physically dominant. That man stands in the backfield. Hickey what does they say? He's like Michael Myers standing back there?

Standing straight up just with the hands on the quads. Yeah that dude is a he is a monster back there and so I think we're I don't know. Hickey you think we're gonna see a high scoring game here?

We're gonna get a a bruising battle on the ground and they both like to run. They do and like you said before last time they played was 29-24. I'd say relatively high scoring. I think it'd be a little lower scoring just because it is now outside in the cold in Boise compared to the dome in in Vegas the first time they played like 27-20, 27-21 somewhere in that range so a little bit lower scoring.

I believe so. I think Boise you think Boise State's gonna come out on top at home? I do I do. Yeah on that blue grass oh my goodness that blue grass is an eyesore man I can't stand it.

You don't like it really? Oh no drives me nuts. Hey Hickey you know what also drove me nuts when I was walking into the walking into the studio today? There was a DoorDash guy coming down an alley and so I'm walking I'm walking across the street and so I'm facing the alley. This guy he's on a bike a motorcycle or whatever the hell it is I don't know. This man had his lights on Hickey I was temporarily blinded I couldn't see.

Never in my life. I was trying to read I was reading I was reading my phone you know just getting ready for the show I'm like hey I can read for the show and walk across the street. I was blind that I looked at my phone I couldn't read nothing. And you said this was a bike he was on? It's a motorcycle motorbike motorcycle yeah. How I think this that's in general cars too like the lights are too bright. The zen- well some cars with the xenon lights will blind you my god. Then the brights are not even on it's like I can't see you're asking me to crash. Yeah yeah I'm like man you you're on a residential street here man what are we doing just blinding people? Hickey I was tempted to say something I'm like a guy has a giant helmet on he's door dashing. Shout outs to the door dashers.

Shout outs to the Uber Eats. Is there more that I'm missing Hickey? I don't know. There's definitely at least one or two like nuke there we go. Grub hub.

And you're probably gonna forget a smaller one and someone's gonna get mad and tweet you or call you but it's fine. Hey I'm working for Seamless. Seamless delivers the full meal I think right?

They do. What do you mean full like as compared to? There's one of these things that instead of doing individual meals they send you like food for the week I think so you make it at home. Oh okay like a meal prep sort of situation.

Yes yes yes yes I need to do that I need to do that too lazy not enough time. Hey I'm on the air during dinner time like what the hell am I doing? What do you do eat before eat after? I try to eat I try to eat right before the show while I'm setting up here in the studio and uh typically I don't I'm trying not to eat after the show but I be hungry you know. It's tough it's weird like you said eat before at five o'clock let's say 5 30 I mean so by the time show's over 10 10 30 it's you're hungry again. Yeah I want to eat just want to eat food anyway. How the hell did we get here talking about food?

Oh the guy who tried to blind me on the way to work. Yes. How we got there I don't know but anyway yeah I got I got Boise State winning we know Boise State is now they're going to end up in the college football playoff and they'll likely get up by because they're gonna finish higher than Arizona State and Iowa State and we gotta wait for that game to take place tomorrow at noon eastern 9 pacific so we get a few things figured out today but then we got a whole lot more things uh figured out uh tomorrow let's take a listen to UNLV head coach Barry Odom. How the hell you gonna stop the potential Hosman award winner? We also know every time he touches the ball he's got a chance for it to be a home run so it takes great collective defense you've got to have tremendous gap integrity once you get a chance to put your pads on or touch you got to get him down and then you got to populate the ball. The easiest said then done as every body knows hey and that's why we talked about me being blinded with that stupid blue grass and and Boise hey Barry how you gonna play on that that blue grass and all them people hating your guts?

We have adopted principles within our program doesn't matter if we're home away or in the parking lot you know it's all about your preparation leading up until the moment of kickoff and then from there you get into the flow state of trying to play your best ball. Hostile environment. Hickey I guess sports is the only place where hostile work environment is accepted right?

Yeah I'm trying to yeah I can't think of any other profession where you say that as a positive right where no HR violations are being committed. We can have a hostile work environment it's like sports talk like people can yell at is it a hostile work environment can be. I guess if callers are the one yelling at you I would say no if you and I are yelling at each other maybe you could argue how a little bit hostile. Well let's do let's let's play sports talk radio guys you ready? Let's do it. Let's play I hate your guts.

JR you're the worst you stink. This is pretend right? Of course. Yours sounded yeah yours sounded real relax. Yours sounded real you're lucky I'm in Atlanta you're in New York we'll be scrapping right now in between that soundproof you can break through that wall right I don't know.

It's two double layered panes of glass I don't know. How long who could could Dan Campbell run through that wall? Oh yeah kool-aid man could he could.

Yeah kool-aid man could bust through the side of your house he most most certainly could. Look I hope the guys I hope they let Ashton and Jensen just run through a brick wall. I hope he runs through everybody and so you hear Barry Odom talking about hostile environments and meanwhile the other damn coach Spencer Danielson he's like listen man it's a football game we about to get violent but I want my guys to have guess what fun.

I also want our guys to enjoy all these moments there's gonna be a lot of players where it's their last game on the blue tomorrow and I want them to embrace it don't go out there anxious don't go out there um with any fear go cut loose with your teammates and enjoy that moment as you do it. Ugly blue field. It's like look at Hickey it's like looking at one of them NBA uh stupid cup games with the stupid colored courts that's what. Did you see the Denver Nuggets court the other night? I don't know no was it yellow? Yes it like I'm not my eyes were hurting like literally they were hurting. Yeah you know my eyes are hurting thinking about that idiot who blinded me in the street I'm used to being blinded okay blind me with your car lights but a motorcycle on the street now I know what a deer feels like this is why they they die on the road deer meat is great by the way random sorry it's the JR Sport Breeze show here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network now I'm gonna get an email from Peter not a nice one hey speaking of college Bill Belichick is going to North Carolina we're going to talk about that on the other side it's the JR Sport Reshore don't move.
