We got a Thursday night football matchup tied at seven all between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens. So we got more to do this hour. We'll give you a recap on everything that we've discussed at the end of the show. Of course I'm going to walk you through a few things that took place this day in sports history. That's 855 212 42 27. The Baltimore Ravens actually just tied this game up. Nelson Aguilar on the receiving end of a Lamar Jackson touchdown. The game is now tied at seven all. 13 minutes to go here in the first half of the game. Cincinnati Bengals really controlling the time of possession just from the get-go. Their only score coming early in the first quarter.

Chase Brown punching the ball in right at the goal line. So Cincinnati and Baltimore currently tied at seven all here in the first half. Not as dynamic as their last game where the Ravens beat Cincinnati 41 to 38.

But this should be a fun one nonetheless. Prior to the game we heard from the coaches. A matter of fact John Harbaugh said man we just played on Sunday. We got to play again on Thursday. These Thursday night games man ain't never easy.

Listen to coach tell you. That's a two-edged sword too because they have they have a lot of familiarity with us. So every game is different. You know every game is unique. You just kind of take it as it comes.

Attack the circumstances as they present themselves and that's what we'll try to do and do our best. And Zach Taylor on the other side. Cincinnati Bengals head coach.

He looks at one guy in particular. Lamar Jackson. Raining NFL MVP probably the favorite to win his third right now. Zach Taylor says man the guy who just threw the touchdown? Man that guy's crazy to stop.

They're doing a lot of really good things. He's playing with a lot of confidence. There's a lot of things that are double-edged sword when you're attacking him whether you're pressuring and he makes the the extra guy miss and now you got a whole world problems because he's as unique as it gets in terms of his athletic skill set but his ability to beat you with his arm creates a real challenge. Okay yeah well we know he create yeah he creates challenges. I heard Lamar Jackson creates challenges on the football field.

What a world. Had no idea. Anyway somebody who is not going to create a challenge on the football field what we learned today he may not even play the rest of this year.

We all know. It's Dak Prescott. Yeah he suffered a hamstring issue. Hamstring injury. Can't call it an issue. We learned that part of his hamstring might have been torn from the bone.

It sounds terrible. Mike McCarthy head coach for now of the Dallas Cowboys. Yeah they'll fire him at the end of the year. He says man I don't know about Dak's injury.

We're still trying to figure it out. He's still going through the process. Visiting him again this morning on it so still collecting information different opinions. I think it'll continue through next week so but he's here every day doing everything that he can. Just to add to something one of the things on the board is whether or not he's able to return this season given the options that he's looking at to address this injury.

Yeah definitely I think that would be the goal. I know I know he I know he wants to keep playing but you know I think it's important to go through the you know the process of gathering all the information. It's obviously a serious injury. Yeah they may have to cut this man open. Hickey what do you do?

I'm not I'm not a doctor. Like if the hamstring is off the bone will you cut them open and you just glue it back or something? They got surgical glue how does that work? Surgical glue? I hope they don't glue it back. Stitch it back would be better. Stitch it? You want to glue his hamstring back? That sounds like it's gonna break right off. What happens is like a little part of the hamstring that's a lot it's like a chicken bone right like you could never get all of the uh the meat off and so what they do just stitch like the fat part back on to the little piece that's there and hopefully like mends back together. I guess I mean this sounds I mean the human body is amazing but this sounds like it's like the way you describe it's never gonna be fixed.

I mean I guess it will be but. Look Dak is about to be bionic man. I still remember man that oh watching him break that ankle wow I was like man we ain't gonna see this guy forever he came back though and they had to pay him.

Talk about the human body wow and tough stuff and tough guy. Mike McCarthy continues on listen to this lie he's like yeah we got Cooper Rush in the next game I like him what a liar. His temperament's excellent I would say you know he's as even killed as an individual especially quarterback that I've that I've had the opportunity to work with so cerebral smart and you know he gives you the flexibility to continue to play and I think that's what you want in all your quarterbacks. Uh-huh yeah all of them that's sure and speaking of backup quarterbacks Mac Jones might get the start he probably will get the start for the Jacksonville Jaguars the other Jags are going nowhere they got a record of two and seven they got the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday Trevor Lawrence is dealing with an issue in his non-throwing shoulder he say that he might require a surgery. Mac Jones originally from Jacksonville he was given the boot by the New England Patriots and now he has a chance to start for his hometown team Mac Jones free from Belichick free from the Patriots he says I'll be ready. Yeah I think that's part of your job as an NFL quarterback and um fortunately we we learned from a lot of different ways and some of that's getting reps some of that's just in the film room and I've been fortunate to watch from the side for the past you know eight nine games so it's been good to be able to get the eight nine games so it's been good for me I've learned a lot I've learned you know how the receivers move how the offensive line's blocking our scheme you know how Trevor is distributing the ball so it's been a good learning experience for me and I think it'll help me you know down the road. That's nice sounds like a human being that's allowed to breathe fresh air I don't know if Bill Belichick ever let this guy out the basement up in New England and now he's like hey I'm back home and I get to start and maybe I don't know put put a put forth a a good foot have a great audition for whoever the hell decides to hire Mac Jones next he's Hickey he's gonna get a starting chance somewhere right he'll probably fail but he'll get a chance. You're probably right but boy whatever team signs him you talk about just depressing. Seattle. Oh oh uh Saints and that makes sense that that makes a lot of sense figure out your direction tear it down don't put a rookie quarterback in that mess yeah that works. Say here Mac Jones it's your turn to take the beating while we look towards the future right have Michael Thomas berate him actually maybe not maybe Michael Thomas take it easy on him yeah he didn't he didn't get a pass from uh he wasn't on the receiving end of a pass so maybe not Michael Thomas only wants to diss the guy who I guess didn't do a good job at throwing him the football even though Michael Thomas never played like what are we doing here what are these people got to complain about everything what a world what a world what a world and you know what all these these injuries and shoulders and hamstrings it doesn't just stop at the NFL because we learned that Tyrese Maxey we talked about this as well he's also out with a hamstring issue this man has played a league high 39 minutes per game he's averaging 27 points a game we have not seen Joel Embiid Paul George who can't understand why he's getting booed by his former team he thinks it's stupid Paul George just came back from a knee injury hyper extended knee and now well Tyrese Maxey gone hamstring minimum two weeks Shams Sharani was on ESPN and he's just like uh yeah he gone Tyrese Maxey will have a full evaluation later today but the sides are bracing for him to miss about a couple of weeks with this hamstring injury he's a guy that obviously wants to play through everything but he will need to take his time this is a soft tissue injury the Sixers are going to take it very very seriously I've spoken to his agent Rich Paul at Clutch Sports and they will make sure that he's going to be 100% when he comes back to the floor this Sixers team obviously that's been battling injury one and six so far this year Joel Embiid has yet to play he's going to make his debut on Tuesday Paul George just got back in the lineup this week and now Tyrese Maxey will be out a period of time he's someone that wants to play basketball desperately bad but this hamstring injury it's a soft tissue injury the Sixers will be taking this very very seriously oh yeah they'll be miserable like they'll do enough just to get into the postseason and then they'll get knocked out because they have no continuity they said who wants to have a basketball player who wants basketball players who cannot play basketball I think the answer is nobody also at the same time Hickey I think we have some some information here well a Christian McCaffrey he's gonna be set to play which is nice but we also got info on on Dak like I'm not a doctor you're not a doctor but Dr. David Chow he actually talked about Dak Prescott and gave a little bit more insight about this hamstring that uh fell off of the bone most hamstring injuries involve the muscle this involves the tendon the tendon at the knee it's more of an avulsion injury do not be surprised if he ends up with surgery now the good news with surgery it would be to resect the area of the tendon to allow for better healing remember tendons don't have the same blood flow as muscle it's not surgery to reattach it surgery would not end his season but it certainly would be IR it's typically six weeks at week 10 that doesn't leave much room for a return if the Cowboys can stay alive Dak can come back this season but at this point IR seems destiny for him and it will be more than four games missed IR man Hickey did you understand what the hell he just said I don't know what he's talking about I know tendon and muscle I don't know the difference I mean I know the difference but what difference would it make what difference would it make for Dak I understood six weeks you know I understood the timeline being longer than we think the longer than the four game minimum for the IR you know version avulsion tendon muscle some gets blood flow some doesn't heal it uh over my head so what if you if you do the surgery and we can ask Dr. David Child I don't feel like it Hickey don't don't think I'm asking I don't want to talk to him right now he's probably listening sorry doctor I just what are you what do you strap it down you just you use glue glue is glue fixes everything Hickey okay rather like show it down no so it's gonna say staple but you know so attending this the tendon is getting sold to what his bone can you guess can you sew bones you can right but why would you I don't know I mean you can't glue just sounds like you're asking just for that thing to break off in the middle of the third quarter and then first game he's back glue gorilla glue is pretty it's pretty tough gorilla glue is it is I mean do you I don't know if you want gorilla glue on your body but sure yeah that thing's tough to tell well there was one time Hickey there was one time I heard that if you do you drink chlor was it chloro is it chlorox bleach yeah there was one time during the pandemic I heard something about drinking bleach and something I don't know I forgot I can't remember it was one of those tick tock trends everyone was doing was it a board drink drink bleach see what happens was it a tick tock trend clean out your insides you know I'll do a good job save you from covid yeah just take a swig a little shot there you go boom hey hope it's dead life would have been so much simpler how many years ago is that four years already oh man too long do I get those for you do we get four years back we should we really should at the end of it we need retroactive years back on our lives by the way in our primes too I don't want like four years when I'm 95 years old can barely move look man if we can turn back clocks we can turn back four years lighten him up and we played five minutes hickey scotty pippen's kid is better than brawny the only thing that makes scotty happier i'm sure if it was michael's kid oh my god oh man is scotty's been quiet is he okay all right i think so hasn't dissed anybody in a couple of months uh hasn't talked crap about jordan uh his ex-wife has been quiet right are they is she still with michael's kid i don't know i think they got divorced or broken broke up they weren't married if they were engaged they were engaged i think so yeah and then i think they broke up and then maybe now they're back together i've not been paying attention we'd know about that right if they were engaged no i think they were right or maybe they just dating for a while which is worse uh scotty pippen's ex-wife and michael jordan's son or tom brady's ex-wife and the guy that was being paid to help her exercise i would still say scotty pippen just because of the disdain he has towards michael i'm assuming tom brady did not have disdain towards the jujitsu instructor until he found out obviously the news you think tom brady was paying he was paying him while they were together oh well she has more money than him so she's probably she's probably the one paying right so it doesn't matter doesn't matter this happens a lot this sounds terrible but it does happen a lot you invite someone into your house know that's the case wow scandals i think he did schwarzenegger had a baby with the maid the baby looks i mean i think if you what what i think i know what you're gonna say there's no dna test needed have now lost four out of five games anthony davis goes down with a heel injury didn't know that he was hurt at the end of last season played 76 games surprisingly lebron is playing the dropping 39 points on a road trip maybe they just need to go home they play the philadelphia 76ers tomorrow paul george will be running around out there by himself no mb of course no maxi and last night after the loss they lost to the grizzlies 131 and 114 and j.j reddick has only coached this team for eight games and last night he already he had he had about enough of the media they were asking the same damn questions and j.j reddick is is answering he's just he's sick of it how about this j.j reddick asked about lebron james and his effort no anthony davis lebron has to take over and he does he says this uh 41 40 year old guy he was he gonna be 40 in december right next month 40 crazy how crazy is that i guess easy to do when you're paying millions of dollars for your body right that's also true maybe easy maybe not i don't know j.j reddick says this old man was the best hardest working player on the damn team ouch i think lebron was fantastic tonight um i mean the biggest thing stood out i mean i had no idea he had 39 until i'm not looking at the box scores during the game but you know he uh he played hard you know he's almost 40 years old and he's played the hardest on our team says a lot about him oh yeah that's a wake-up call to everybody else on the team play as hard as lebron like how come lebron james could be out here playing hard how come the almost 40 year old guy is the hardest playing dude on the team why and then then j.j reddick he was asked about messages to inspire the team and he was asked the question twice and so this time he just said i'm sick of this i'm leaving i'm out i'm not answering this crap i just answered you j.j you're talking a lot about two out of the three two or three guys getting them to put in the effort you talked a lot about wanting to play hard and lebron being the guy that played hard in tonight's game how do you address that with the team what's your philosophy for approaching that i just did this man dropped the microphone and left this is what he's doing eight games in and i get it he's sick of asking or answering the same questions i totally understand what is he going to do when there's a lot of questions what is he going to do when they are not on a two-game losing streak what's he going to do if the lakers lose like four in a row you want to talk about having car does j.j reddick does he need coffee does he need a drink he looks stressed already man it's been eight games he looks stressed to the gills he needs a drink no doubt about it a few maybe man yeah i can't wait this is going to at the lakers will be fine playing tournament is gonna what is it next month the end of this month or something like that not as much emphasis on the uh the players tournament we saw last year and and i guess the novelty has uh worn off the end season tournament you're overt already what did i call it the playoffs what did i call it the play-in tournament and then the players tournament adam silver's rolling right now around in his office a great great branding huh i don't know what the hell it's called i know the championship is in vegas i know that much i don't know and they'll pop champagne like they tournament the nba cup starts uh next tuesday we got jake paul and mike tyson on friday it's gonna be a good week i wonder what other obscure uh sporting events we have uh taking place next week no maybe not so much uh obscure how much money you think mike tyson's getting out of this two mil two you think nah i gotta get mike more than two how well how much is jake making are they making even i don't know you gotta remember this is not pay per view this is just gonna be on netflix so i guess whatever netflix what would you do here's a flat rate and then we'll give you a percentage of people bit like more than one i was gonna say he's bitten a few people he bit like three people over the course of like three weeks like why are you biting how are you biting people on the shoulder and how did he not get his teeth knocked down his throat uh well if i remember right in the world cup because i think it was uh against italy and i think italy got caught because i think he did make a move to i don't know if he punched him or yeah and he made a move but they didn't see the bite so italy played a man down for the rest of the game oh man i remember one of the guys he bit he like moved his his kid out the way and you saw the bite marks on this man's shoulder who's how are you biting another man at a sporting event what is wrong with you i don't know i mean again these are the kids that bit people in class and a tooth and eat the uh i guess i mean i don't know isn't there doesn't everybody have that like one kid that bit everybody in you know preschool or whatever it was oh oh man i don't remember maybe i'm saying that because my daughter came home one time last year and whatever the kid's name was he bit somebody it was like great it wasn't you right oh she didn't get bit no but she she's the informer she lets me know of what's going on with everything so he's an informant uh she informs me what's going on whether it's her brothers letting me know about the older one the younger one what's going on at school when i need to know something i go to my daughter she lets me know everything that's going on marco is is she a snitch yes and i i can't tell you how many times i've told her mad stop being a rat you called her a rat i i tell her that almost every day almost every day i tell her to stop being a rat being a rat but at the same time i need this information so it's almost like i gotta teach but i gotta hear it first does it make sense you're an informant too well i mean i'm the feds i gotta know what's going on and then i'll tell you not to do it but i gotta hear it first i'm not gonna stop you mid-sentence i'm gonna hear it first then tell you to stop being a rat oh man this is a master manipulator here you are marco balletti look at you yeah man end on a high note because we had some negative words to say about the georgia bulldogs a little bit no optimism for carson beck i want to highlight some optimism for another quarterback here in georgia his name is kirk cousins we'll talk about kirk kirkobangs or whatever the hell they call him now and then we'll go down to a few things that took place this day in sports history you're listening to the jr sport brief back in the days when i was young i'm not a kid anymore but some days i sit and wish i was a kid again it's time for this day in sports history you see back in those days we had radio and you couldn't see anything and it was primitive and lousy and we liked it on the jr sport brief show i wish i was 50 years younger and i'd kick your ass years to take a look at a few things that took place this day in sports history today is november 7th the year is 2024 it's been that way all day long but if we go back to november 7th in 1991 a monumental day in the world of sports and and health and education as well because magic johnson you might remember this you probably do he stood in front of the media and he announced to the world that he had hiv listen to this because of the hiv virus that i have attained uh i will have to retire from the lakers uh today i just want to make clear first of all that i do not have the a disease because i know a lot of you i can want to know that but the hiv virus um i plan on going on living for a long time bugging you guys like i've always have so you'll see me around i plan on being with the lakers in the league hopefully david will have me for a while well we know he's still here he looks good too magic johnson 65 years old one of the more successful athletes and businessmen public figures and beloved figures we have in this country and then you know there was a lot of trepidation about his his reveal and whether or not he could play and don't want to touch the guy and whatnot well he played in that 1992 all-star game helped open some eyes about people broke some misconceptions about folks living with hiv he played on the dream team right after that you might forget this it was quite forgettable he coached for a little while in 1994 he even played a few more games in 1996 to pretty much close things out now a great businessman magic johnson always doing doing well helping people out looking out for folks we've had magic johnson here on the jr sport reshow shout outs to magic education he's he's done an amazing job things could have really created for him at that point november 7th the year 2008 jerry sloan god bless him he passed away four years ago 2008 this man jazz beat the mavs 101 to 79 he became the first coach to win 1000 games with one team this is what jerry sloan had to say after the game i'm lucky to still be here that great coaches to work with me and i'm thankful that i'm also thankful for larry miller for allowing me to be here the losses stick to your head stick to your mind as far as your coaching job is concerned is to try to keep from having those things happen to you hopefully make better decisions when you're coaching and i'd say those are the worst things you have to deal with winning's fine but that's a short little thing losing sticks with you for a long time i have tremendous beliefs that this is a player's game i've said that over and over again and i believe that 100 because nobody's gonna come pay to watch me they're gonna pay to watch the then that's what it's supposed to be wow that's that's amazing i still can't believe he passed away four years ago man why tom tom flies really does one thing i do remember about jerry sloan i did not see him play but i remember him standing on the sidelines in the 90s just right there with john stockton carmelone looking miserable as he tried to figure out how the hell do you stop michael jordan the answer is you you just don't you don't those are a few things that took have advised the residents of this town to like we highly encourage you to close lock your windows and your doors that's nightmare fuel right there holy holy cow police hunt 43 monkeys that escaped from a south carolina research facility anyone who finds a monkey should not interact with it but call 911 instead imagine the officers in that town like yeah i'm in that town like yeah i'm here to protect and serve and all of a sudden now you're getting calls to wrangle up 43 monkeys how do you get the monkey i don't know i don't know you're not the police you can't have police there's 43 monkeys out there is there animal control enough to be on the lookout for 43 monkeys there's a video i don't know if this is somebody shooting out their window at home at work or whatever but the window faces like the woods and you know how you get a movie you get like horses they run in packs like you get like a bunch of horses just like running by you see the monkeys like through the woods and it's just like one monkey after the other at least they're together i think i i would the monkeys were a group of very young females that have never been used for testing oh my god the animals are too young to carry disease alpha genesis currently have eyes on the primates and are working to entice them with food traps have also been set up and officers are using a thermal imaging cameras in an attempt to recapture the animals you just have to put out a crap ton of food and hope that only the monkeys get it and not some other animal that's crazy bro 43 monkeys how long do you think before all three for uh all 43 are corralled i don't know that's scary bro like december if i say by christmas all 43 be caught bro i hope a hawk doesn't just come by picking these things off man that's scary could you imagine living in that town and you get it you get an alert your phone goes off like hey lucky it's like planet of the apes outside man i'm sorry i gotta look out for what now apes i got his monkeys outside lock your windows man just sitting in your living room and you you hear noise in the kitchen and the monkeys back there what oh man and shout outs to everybody in south
